- Just ignore my acknowledgements that it is overbearing and needs to be adjusted. Also "meghead" "this game is dumb" are also censored.
- I didn't say anything about cuss words unless you consider racism and homophobic slurs to be cuss words.
- Don't understand that last part, why would I come out inside a video game to a friend. What a weird thing to bring up.
By your logic the words “he” and “she” should be banned. You might be misgendering someone.

the discussion is literally in this thread, isn’t it?
you almost never answered any direct question, maybe picked one question to answer but ignored the rest. You never admitted that you were not right, even though you were proven to be wrong.
i don’t have any problem with when someone doesn’t agree with me - again an accusation from your side without any grounds.
and I know the definition of a wild card, but we don’t have a wild card in this case. It is not a wildcard just because we don’t know who it is. It’s only seems to be a wildcard from our perspective. But the devs have confirmed it’s not any character, it’s a specific character.
This is almost comical. Why would I admit to being wrong when I’m not wrong? I can’t emphasize enough that you don’t understand what a wild card is. No disrespect, maybe it’s simply a language barrier or something like that. The only other alternative is you are just trying to mess with me.
You refuse to acknowledge when you are wrong, like when I gave you multiple threads and you said it’s not enough. Quit moving the goal posts.

Don’t worry about that person. They made wrong assumptions and accusations in almost every post on this thread. And they are unable to admit mistakes whatsoever.
What an immature response. Once again, I can only come to the conclusion that since I disagree with you, you have to try to dismiss my opinion. But then again, you don’t know the definition of wild card so my bar was set pretty low.

That’s one. And judging by the first answers didn’t get too much approval.
i already said almost no one.
Edit: I am off to bed, I assume you are searching for those many threads that are demanding an openly gay char (btw not even what that thread was about? Generally LGBT+ was requested). I will respond again tomorrow when I find time for it.

Yeah, but it should be clear that I can’t speak for everyone else. And of course I am only speaking from my point of view and I haven’t seen those demands and I am reading these threads pretty thorough.
And you made it sound like many people were asking for it. Which is not true. Let’s see if you can now admit to a mistake of again ignore this?
Then explain the multiple threads asking for it then

I said that any depiction of an LGBTQ+ person would have helped me, correct. Doesn't mean they'd have to be openly gay character- any depiction would've helped. It also wouldn't have had to be obvious, just a subtle part; any representation. Also doesn't mean they'd have to be gay- there's a reason I always specifiy LGBTQ+.
Look at my last post. My point stands

Almost no one demanded an openly gay character. No one claimed they can’t identify with a videogame character without it. At least not here in the forums that I have read. Please don’t put words in others mouths again.
to us they may be a wild card. But that doesn’t change the fact that every mentioning of anything LGBT+ in the lore was excluded and every relationship was definitely confirmed to be heterosexual.
Just a few pages ago @GoodBoyKaru said just that. You don't even read what those who agree with you post.
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1985159#Comment_1985159
Also what is your obsession with a gay character? No one ever demanded an explicit gay character. People are literally just saying LGBT+ should not be excluded when heterosexual relationships are already included. Really. That is my point of view and that of many others you are trying to argue against.
Half the people here have demanded an openly gay character. People have even claimed they don’t feel like they can identify with video game characters without it.
let me say again, since we as players don’t know who the character is, they are a wild card to us. Therefore the lore is open to interpretation. If the devs want to actually define the relationships they will reveal which character is the unknown to the players.
-
@Orion said:

Nope, the creative team flowed in the direction of an explicitly LGBT character all on their own. Why do you want them to exclude explicitly LGBT characters if that's where their ideas went?
Point out where I said they should exclude them. I’ll wait.
You always make that same argument in every thread. “If you have any reservations about how the character is created (not if they should be but how) then you are actively excluding them”

Your point was disproven by the fact that the creators/writers of the lore have confirmed every relationship is heterosexual and anything LGBT+ was unintentionally excluded while heterosexual mentions weren’t.
you are literally make stuff up such as the LGBT char kn the game is a wild card, which was also confirmed to be untrue as it was a specific character.
i am labeling you as a troll because you are still arguing against the words of the creators.
also you were saying I would contradict myself but even after I questioned that you ignored it and never elaborated.

We want the creative team to flow, but they better flow in the direction of a gay character or we will make a ridiculously long thread about the lack of said character. Revisit my post discussing sally on a previous page please, it is worded better then my one regarding frank

And considering how you've been doing that for the past 2 pages, it's getting pretty pissy.
You are only angering yourself. Who are you to say my point of view is stupid? That’s the definition of close minded

So someone disagrees with you and your first response is to get angry and assume they are stupid? That’s flat out sad man. I wish the best for you; gotta stay calm out there. I actually try to keep an open mind. That’s why I continue to post. Seems you only want to brow beat though

Funny, you seem to be the one getting upset. You are so upset you typed profanity in some of your messages. Like, you made a conscious effort to try and prove how upset you are. I’m calmly trying to show you that just because the lore says sally had a husband, doesn’t mean sally is a biological female. That’s the point, since we don’t know who the LGBTQ character is.

That’s not what any one said. There is one specific defined character who is in some specific form part of the LGBT+ community.
that’s not a wild card just because you don’t know more. It may very well get revealed in a future tome
Hope this helps

I literally don’t know how to explain how a wild card works. I can’t hold your hand through all this
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1985024#Comment_1985024
1) No, they didn't. Heterosexual relationships and heterosexual characters are different things, for the last time.
2) That's the entire point of a headcanon. It's not official canon. I hc' Claudette as ace, but that's not official canon. No matter what dbd says I'll still hc' her as ace, but it'd still be official canon otherwise if dbd states so.
Official canon gives one character as a wild card in terms of gender or sexuality. Who are you to tell me who it is. Thus any predefined relationship is open to official interpretation
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1984964#Comment_1984964
The devs said every mentioned relationship is indeed heterosexual. And there is a character that is LGBT+. And they have seen their mistake in mentioning heterosexual relationships while also stating they didn’t want to reveal any of the sexualities of their chars. They admitted they did mistakes there and they will not any longer exclude any sexuality in the lore.
so yes we KNOW every mentioned relationship is heterosexual. And we know there is at least one char LGBT+ (not necessarily gay). It may very well be a char said has had a heterosexual relationship confirmed. We don’t know said.
but what does that even have to do with this topic? Devs won’t explicitly exclude anything LGBT+ related, while they stated that they unintentionally did so in the past.
now use you reading comprehension please.
“so yes we KNOW every mentioned relationship is heterosexual. And we know there is at least one char LGBT+ (not necessarily gay). It may very well be a char said has had a heterosexual relationship confirmed. We don’t know said.”
You literally contradict yourself. And if no one is trying to restrict my head canon, why do you keep telling me the devs have defined them to only be one way
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1984964#Comment_1984964
By definition this means that any of the relationships you point to as proof that heterosexual relationships are present might actually be not heterosexual
Not quite sure how this is the case?
We're talking about the relationships not the characters. There's been heterosexual relationships confirmed in the lore, not heterosexual characters.
Frank and Julie? He/Him x She/Her.
Nurse and her husband? She/Her x He/Him
Felix and his gf? He/Him x She/Her
David and his ex? He/Him x She/her.
And you accuse us of having poor reading comprehension? That is classic.
and what if I chose to believe frank is a ze/zem. Your argument falls apart then.
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1984944#Comment_1984944
I don’t even know what that phrase is supposed to mean (pigeon hole)
but yeah kinda? The devs confirmed one char was created with being part of the LGBT+ community in mind (not necessarily gay). Which also confirms the others up to that point weren’t.
but good to know you are out of ‚arguments‘. Please next time think about it before you try to put words in others mouths.
Lol you just admitted the devs already have a character whose gay in the lore, which one we don’t know. By definition this means that any of the relationships you point to as proof that heterosexual relationships are present might actually be not heterosexual. Then you say I am out of arguments. That is classic.
I’ll continue to not assume anything about the characters. You continue to assume they are straight. Seems like I’m actually the more inclusive thinker though IMO
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1984927#Comment_1984927
Again, the creators have literally confirmed it.
The same creators who also said one current character is part of the gay community but won’t say who? Yeah, so I’ll keep my mind open to the character lore while you pigeon hole them.
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1984893#Comment_1984893
You have zero reading comprehension.
we are actually saying if heterosexual relationships can be mentioned so should others. And yes we can assume their genders when the creators of the game have defined their genders. They are using pronomes and other words like ‚woman‘, ‚man‘ etc.
So now you can tell me what the pronouns I want to use mean?
See how ridiculous this gets?
plus, once again I have no proof that heterosexual relationships are mentioned. If you choose to read the lore that way, you do you.
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1984853#Comment_1984853
You literally didn’t read what I have written.
being in a heterosexual relationship has nothing to do with being heterosexual.
please show me where I have assumed they were heterosexual.
Your second line actually helps my point. Thank you.
-
You all have zero reading comprehension. It’s simple, if gender is fluid, then you cannot assume their relationships are heterosexual in nature. That means YOU are saying character x identifies a certain way. It’s a pretty big leap to make
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1984834#Comment_1984834
No one ever stated that this is out of possibility. But why is it okay to explicitly never mention anything LGBT related but there are several heterosexual relationships mentioned which is completely fine by every one. Literally everyone. No one complained
You literally didn’t read a word I said. You just assumed they are all heterosexual
-
Someone else brought up a good point in that how do we know nurse isn’t bisexual? I think everyone here is a bigot for assuming frank doesn’t identify as a woman and you are just foisting the identity of male on him.
-

The people who say that representation isn't needed never seem to realise that they only think it's unimportant because they don't need it, they are completely unaware of their own privilege.

Trying to find the Place where I called them a homophobe but all I can see is that I said I hope I have misunderstood them.
Also: „So there are thousands of personal preferences about self-identification and social classes. Would it not make more sense to [...]“
this is actually implying not to include those personal preferences and this whole topic is about LGBT+ (not only gay). also this whole statement while heterosexual relationships are already in the game.
“uhm. So heterosexuality in the game is okay but anything non-heterosexual should be left out because players can change their naming tag or have head canon”
Question definitely has a motive questioning time to it but sure continue with it.

i hope i am misunderstanding you right now.
it doesn’t matter what some extremist group did or does. Or should we judge every white straight man by what Nazi Germans did? The answer is no, btw.
also the devs said they want to be inclusive and they want to add chars that are LGBT+, why should they be forced not to do that.
Trying to find a place where he said gays shouldn’t be allowed. Couldn’t find it. His argument said let people put their own mark on it and even included Jews as an example. You instead tried to imply he’s a homophobe against adding an openly gay character.

So is this your opinion or do you state this as fact? It seems that you could not possibly have anyway of coming to this conclusion from data, but it sounds like your own opinion and preferences.
What groups do you feel should be represented, and which do you feel should not be represented? For instance if less than 5% of the population self identifies as LGBTQIA, do you believe all other social classes of 5% or greater should also be represented?
I tried making this point months ago in a different thread about this tired topic. Didn’t get an honest response. I’m not optimistic about your chances either.

And dollars to donuts, survivors running the "short" survivor would whine when the hitbox is the same size as every other survivor and it looks like they get hit from a mile away.
Much like people whine about Freddy's lunge; he has the same lunge as every other killer, but since he's smaller, it looks like he just lunged across a football field.
I completely agree. You would have a bunch of short Claudette in black hiding the whole match, then when they get hit cry it's not fair. No thanks, it is not needed here

Killers are different. Killers have a terror radius.
Iron Will and survivors being shorter are not the same thing, and that's a false argument. Iron Will makes you quieter. It doesn't make you potentially invisible if you crouch in a bush - and that's already a thing that happens with certain survivors wearing certain outfits.
Survivors being shorter or taller would actually mess with balance because the game depends on killers being able to find them. More specifically short survivors. I shouldn't be having to tell you this. It's common sense.
Not to mention hitboxes would be even more weird if heights were changed

I'm not saying that trying to avoid stereotypes is wrong. I'm saying that it makes no sense to believe they're going to resort to stereotypes when every single chapter before disproves this claim. I'm pointing out that the argument "creating more diversity just for the sake of diversity leads to stereotypes" is severely flawed
And well OP didn't mention quotas so bringing those up in the discussion doesn't make sense either. Besides, I can understand if you're against the idea of a quota when applying for jobs for example as it could lead to discrimination the other way around, but being against a quota for the representation of video game characters again makes no sense at all. Representation doesn't mean they're never going to make caucasian characters, it doesn't mean they won't make anymore characters you like and can relate to. It means they will make more characters POC can relate to as well and I don't see why the hell that is a problem.
By saying they need more diversity, they are saying the numbers are not up to some imaginary minimum they have made up in their mind. If you don't see the problem with that, that's on you. It makes perfect sense for me to want the creative team to let their ideas flow instead of them looking at some chart on the wall and saying "well now it's time to add a left handed, one legged, bald Vietnamese survivor cause we need more diversity."
I will say, this troll thread received way more attention then it should have but I'm just as guilty as everyone in that regard.

So, theres no controller support for mobile, imo, its been stated. However, you can use a controller at the loss of camera, and skill checks.
My question, is that I know using a 3rd party app for controller is bannable. But could I use a controller simply for doing emotes? I cant use it for anything else, really. Cant move camera, you cant fully run, and you have to be holding a button for crouch rather than just doing a one tap.
I just wanna use emotes, but not if its gonna get me banned. Any help on this is appreciated.

BHVR updates the game every 3 months with a new chapter regardless of the bugs in the game. Creating a chapter introducing a character of color takes as much time as any other chapter.
What people are saying is don't introduce a character in 3 months, fix the game first.
And you say trying to avoid stereotypes is wrong, but I'm assuming you also think stereotypes themselves are wrong. So there is no winning then?
Read what people said here already. The game is plenty diverse. Also, no one here is against more characters from different backgrounds, they are against quotas

I love how OP says "we only have ONE black woman which is the most hated group of people for some reason even though they’re the prettiest on the planet".
The reason she's often hated isn't because of the way she looks, it's because lots of people use her to blend in with the dark environment like a chameleon, and killers are tired of playing where's waldo with her.
I could be wrong; I don't want to speak for the OP. The way I read that line is they are saying black women in real life are the most hated group. If I am right, I didn't even want to address such an absurd claim
