Hi me again, sorry. Is there a way that my friend and I could play the same game but one of us is the killer? We are able to join the same game both a survivors but wasnt sure if we had the option to be a killer if we wanted to instead. thanks!
You can do that in Kill your friends it's in the game menu next to 'play as killer'
-
Dead hard my frenzy? You have chosen death.π€£ And then I see another target with BBQ I like where this is going.π
-
Freddy and Quentin aren't on nintendo switch so I'm using the shrine to get their perks; I've gotten bloodwarden and pharmacy so far. For other perks I tend to just level the characters up, I'm not in a hurry to get all the perks. Slowly grinding is fine I have the time for it.
-
Don't break unsafe pallets but pretend to so they leave the loop for the next one, this can catch them off guard and land a hit. Or use FF to get in front of an injured survivor and bodyblock they're planned escape route. This causes confusion so they don't gain enough distance when you're in fatique. These teams are really good so you need to up your game and switch tactics a few times or else they catch on.
-
Getting pallet stunned while I didn't know there was a survivor....
-
Tier 30 did all survivor challenges on level 1 and 2 still working on level 3 survivor. Almost got all killer challenges from level 1 and some from level 2. Have been trying the hardest challenges first so I'll catch up with the grindy ones. I have my eye on that beautiful legion mask.π

It's not always possible. I just had a match with an IRI lullaby. She gets me, camps me like crazy. Someone unhooks me and she just tunnels me to the ground. I can't outrun her, I can't hide.. I get hooked again.. And the same thing happens. I never got to do gens, totems or anything and this happens in like 8 out of 10 matches. People being camped should NOT get punished for a killer being a prick. At least they should get a safe-pip. It happens so often and so constant. Obviously the devs doesn't want to punish killers for this tactic but it's fine punishing survivors for it? At least give the person hooked the entire match a chance not to depip at least?
Huntress hitboxes/latency are ridiculous at the moment, that combined with iri head/ infantry belt is a nightmare. Once you're spotted and she decides to tunnel you off hook I agree that you can't do much. Even if it takes time for her to catch you my experience is this doesn't end well. That's why I go full stealth if my matches go like that, if they can't find you they can't do that to you early in the trial. I play extremely immersive if I figure out a huntress has these add ons. And yes I also go down eventually but I don't consistently lose a pip because stealth saves me. It can be quite hilarious to stealth around while the killer keeps checking the gen and not finding you. Especially when you leave the area she's agressively patrolling to complete another gen. I agree that a match like you described ain't fun or fair to the survivor that gets targeted first. But try to change your gameplay to salvage the match a bit.
-
I get what you mean, sometimes you just can't get momentum going game after game. I try to switch up my tactic when that happens. I take 3 info perks: kindred, spinechill, empathy and use a healing perk like we'll make it or botany knowledge. The plan is always know where the killer is and what he's doing + saving/ healing teammates. I find that this works to get a grip on your matches. When you do engage in a chase you'll probably have done enough to at least black pip so tunneling etc. doesn't matter as much. Although I usually pip with this build. Also don't immediately start a gen but be a little patient.
-
I main legion and people do heal against him which is a viable tactic. I'd love it if they didn't since that would make them extremely vulnerable. That being said selfcare without botany knowledge is brutal, those survivors basically turn the tables my way.
Smart survivors repair gens till the very last second while in deep wound to prevent killer instinct revealing their location again. And heal themselves after that with a medkit because you're doing legion a favour by teaming up for a heal. If you don't have a medkit don't waste time by searching for one or a teammate just work on a gen in a safe area.
Loads of people panic when they are injured against legion and make bad decisions even in red ranks. As a result; I find people injured working on gen's in unsafe area's --> free down, mending in the open --> free down, selfcaring in a deadzone --> free down. Learn from your mistakes as a survivor or else a decent legion will capitalize on them. It would amaze you how many survivors use selfcare while you have 4 stacks thanataphobia combined with sloppy butcher. If you're team doesn't know how to play against legion you're in for an almost impossible to win game. Loads of people dislike legion and therefore underestimate his ability to get consistent 3k-4k games.
-
I just hope they change the level 4 challenge named Dwight's Fright which is almost the same! The only difference is you have to also escape the trial... You can check it out on this website --> https://dbd.onteh.net.au/archives
-
You don't have to connect mobile to get that charm. It was a log in reward for everyone so if you logged in on pc when it was availible you should have it in your inventory. I'm not entirely sure but I thought it's a killer charm only. I have that charm and don't play on mobile.
-
What an enticing story, you're a good writer!π I almost got the challenge three times but died before making it out... Had loads of escapes without being on death hook, encountered some farmers and got sacrificed loads of times, there even was a mori.... But I finally got it on Pale Rose swamp facing a huntress. I had a chilling moment at the exit gate when I got chased around the jungle gym but she fortunately lost me (thank you dance with me!!) and she started chasing someone around the locker I was in. Never been so hyped because I was scared she would load up her hatches! Could eventually get out, take a hit for my teammate and escape since the other teammate opened the gate. Great solo survivor teamwork!!!
-
Survivor looping/ escape build: spine chill, resilience, dance with me, lightweight.
First 2 perks for quick vaults (especially when injured) and the other perks to lose the killer easily when you break line of sight.
-
I play almost daily on the switch and in my region the queue times are fine. Killer almost instant to max 2-3 min and survivor max 5 min (8 min is the worst I've seen). It works fine on switch and there are enough invested players judging by the amount of bought cosmetics.
-
This took me two evenings of gaming and I got so many doctors that messed up my plan! Eventually I changed my name to 'The Brave' so the killer knew what I was doing. And after another game or 6 I got a nice killer who decided to help at the end of the match. He was playing silent bell wraith and was obviously doing the 'seizing discord' challenge so I helped him first and then he let me crouch around him for a minute. We both got our challenges.π
-
I usually check the surroundings briefly for the best escape route before I start the gen. When the killer spots me I don't give them an easy hit by running into a bad spot on accident.
-
I don't get it either because it costs them bloodpoints too and I can't believe it's fun to play like that. Yesterday I encountered a tunneling face camping Bubba, almost made it out but then he started slugging for the 4k.... He wastes my time so when on hook I hang on as long as possible (while entertaining myself by browsing the internetπ) so the team has a chance. That'll teach them in the long run. I got more points than the killer that game... I just don't get tilted and remind myself there are more good than bad matches.
-
I don't like the claudette skin at all. It's just trashy imo with the showing thong, without that detail it would look much better. I'll just skip this one if they make it free in the rift or something I'll never use it. Luckily the legion outfit is amazing I can already see some nice combo's with that mask.
-
My favorite map is dead dawg saloon, it looks nice and I love the western theme. The balance is good so it's fun to play on as killer and as survivor.
I dislike shelter woods since it has so many dead zones, as a killer it ain't a challenge and as survivor you're struggling too much.
-
I dislike plague with her disgusting power. Those annoying coughing/ vomiting sounds all game.... and everybody giving out free corrupt purge every infection they get before being broken! It's terrible that your team can throw the game that easily. When that happens it almost requires you to stealth across the map if you want to get a chance. Let's say I try to finish those games asap.
-
Alive and kickingπ π Queue is fine on switch, killer nearly instant to max 3 min and survivor 2 - 6 min (worst I've encountered was 8 min on survivor). I also see loads of players who bought the rift or additional cosmetics so there are a good amount of invested players. I really like dbd on switch, purple ranks and up are usually nice decent team players or good fair killers. At least there are enough good players for a fun experience so the horrible survivors/ killers don't ruin it. And no endgame chat or any other way to leave salty messages.π I play dbd almost daily on switch.

Me too!π I'm a fan of that beautiful spot in the middle on lery's, that lighting is just perfect.

This bug is still in the game, I've just seen it again (hotfix 3.7.2).
-
They will learn quick so don't worry about it. If you go down from deep wound you will understand pretty soon why that happened. When you leave brown ranks it is rare if you ever see someone downed by deep wound.
-
These annoying teams are tricky to go against. They require you to change your gameplan while you still need to patrol gens properly. I've noticed a rise in these teams using breakout preventing you from hooking. If you pick up a survivor and someone starts following you immediately drop them if you don't have iron grasp and/or mad grit. I've been trolled by this to many times and changed my strategy accordingly. Drop it, chase the break out player away or down/ hit them if you can, patrol area around the downed survivor (usually find someone else...), chase them away if you find them (hit/ down if you can). Area moderately secure? Pick up and hook them. Not secure? Leave them down until you can down someone else. If they are playing like that I am forced to slug if I want to stop the break out. Also check the area before picking up at all.
Head on also requires a different strategy once you figure out who has it they are target number one to get downed/hooked or slugged if necessary to keep a grasp on the game. Learn and adapt, don't fall for their tricks by either staying away far enough from questionable lockers in a chase or baiting them out of it. Most players are obviously leading you to a locker try to spot that behaviour and don't be afraid to break chase to maintain pressure elsewhere. I also check lockers near downed survivors to make sure there is no shenanigans going on when I pick them up (approach from the side..). If more players have head on it just gets harder to deal with...
With these kind of teams I go and patrol an area where I can force a three gen situation. The survivors want their fun head on / break out play so they will come to you. Don't get lured to far away from your little area since these teams know what your doing and will try to get you far away from there. Keep your head cool because you're in for a long game with all the unbreakable/ ds/ sprint burst plays. Just keep in mind they can only unbreakable once and can't use ds if you keep track of time. The area you pick turns into a deadzone after a while when the pallets are gone so never give up. This won't give you a win every time (that's okay imo) but it gives you a decent chance while you retain a sense of control.
-
I'm still leveling everyone up to level 40 for the perks which means I have almost no offerings on my main character. And if I can't get a decent build on another character I just hold on to the offerings because I don't want to waste them. I also forget to use them if I play loads of matches.
-
Pig takes a lot of skill to master especially in red ranks. You should watch the pig guide that was linked here. My normal strategy is trapping early to slow down the game. I also like sneaking up from an unsuspected angle for maximum scare and a hit. I use monitor and abuse + whispers to hide my terror radius in time by crouching so the survivors have no clue I'm coming. Using dash properly is hard I'm still learning, don't give up on it though since dash has the potential to be very useful.
And if you want head pops caused by the reversed beartrap you should use her dirty add ons: tampered timer + jigsaw's sketch. Survivors don't have enough time to search all the jigsaw boxes before it's too late. I like that strategy but it's definitely not fun for survivors so I don't use it often. After one trap pops observant survivors know what your doing and stop doing gens to prevent an active trap. They focus on getting the trap off before the timer starts. Therefore you need to shift your attention to chasing them off the jigsaw boxes instead of gens. So they will either do gens and die from the trap or don't do gens and die on the hook. It's dirty gameplay imo but can be extremely fun to do now and then.

Anything with nurse. Impossible for me on console.
-
Characters cost 500 AC each, they were on sale for 250 AC but that sale has ended. You'll have to wait for the next sale.
-
Sometimes it's a mystery to me why players do these things. I never give up if the opposite sides seems te be winning because it can easily change in your favor. Very strange that they quit why give up your points??? I've had games ending in a 4k because they all decided to dive the hook. And I have been killed because my team did that. It gets interesting when running a perk like kindred or bond so I see what's going on and wonder what kind of plan is that.... Like healing while I'm dying on hook, crouching around on the edge of the map, hiding for ages in a locker while the killer isn't there. I don't get why they do that so I just move on to the next match when this one ends.

πfinally an intelligent response
You're welcomeπ It's an interesting dev stream. I don't get annoyed anymore when it looks like this on my side because I get what's happening now.
-
This happens because of latency. I have a clip where I get hit while the killer isn't even on the same floor (game map). From the killers POV it looks normal from the survivors side it looks like your clip. You can clearly see this on livestreams. Sometimes two streamers are in the same match when you watch both streams you can see the latency especially in chase. On the survivor side they are through the window while on the killers side the vault animation is midway. This ends in these weird looking hits on the survivor side.
This is the dev stream where they talk about this (starts at 15:34):

I was going for the totem cleanse challenge from the new tome so I brought a pink map with detective's hunch which made my plan obvious to the killer. I spawn in and go hunt totems and find a hex totem. Okay great! So cleansing....Boom retribution... Got hooked after that one.... After that the search continues...another hex totem??? Haunted grounds.... Have never laughed this hard during a game. After that one I was busy with either ruin or devour hope and got chased of that. Hilarious cat and mouse gameplay which ended with me being sacrificed eventually. Was loads of fun! Really daring to take hex perks only that game and of course I cleanse the devastating ones first.π

Ghostface is fun, he does well with a lot of perks. If you'd like to keep BBQ and pop which are great perks on a lot of killers, then go with nurse's calling and corrupt intervention. Ghostface needs a little bit of time to find and stalk survivors which you get from corrupt and pop. Nurse's is great because with an active night shroud you can sneak up on injured survivors and get an easy down. (perks are from the nurse and the plague)
On hag Make your choice is strong, if they trigger a trap when they rescue someone from the hook you can teleport and insta down the savior. Monitor and abuse to sneak up and that pairs up nicely with nurse's calling. I like sloppy butcher to extend the healingtime to gain distance when I see them with nurse's. But hag does well even without perks. (perks are from the pig, doctor and nurse. sloppy is a general perk)
There are loads of good viable options on all killers so I recommend reading the forum and watching good streamers on twitch or youtube to see what works best. You should also look into the add-ons because they can change what perks are good. You'll get better at picking good perks and add-ons when you play a certain killer more often.
-
Since you already have BBQ and pop goes the weasel I would pair that with enduring and spirit fury. BBQ for detection, POP to slow down gens and enduring/ spirit fury to end chases faster. So that means leveling up spirit and the hillbilly.
Another option is play with your food combined with nemesis, this increases movement speed (=shorter chase) while nemesis ensures that you don't lose your obsession. Then you need to level up myers and oni.
-
Which killer do you like to play? I picked a main killer to play and then decided which perks I needed for my build. Some perks work good on one killer but are completely worthless on another.
-
I never tunnel intentionally not even with toxic survivors. The only time tunneling happens is if survivors wear the same cosmetic so I can't tell who I've hooked already. If a survivor just keeps crossing my path I'll rather slug them so they can get another chance or leave them alone for a while to seek out someone else. The nasty toxic ones don't get my undivided attention, they would love that so the rest can finish gens...
I've noticed that I mostly get tunneled when I do something that greatly messes with the killers plan. Like breaking the devour hope totem, baiting a chase to stop proxy camping while my team saves or run them around for at least 3 gens. I get that it is easier vs 3 survivors or kicking a skilled player out of the match like that. But this tactic can cost you the match, you're bp, emblem score and ruin your gameplay in the long run. I'd rather lose because I didn't tunnel than get accustomed to playing like that and have many unfun matches.
-
Well what a sad thing to see. If you're the survivor and your team doesn't trigger EGC anytime soon you're stuck waiting or have to dc and get a ban/ lose points. Looks like a nasty gameplay move from the killer; might be pissed off about that totem or something but blocking another player come on... Just try to down and hook him, even with sabo those hooks regenerate after 30 sec you know. I play both sides so I don't get such a move from anyone, it doesn't get more boring than this. I'm curious if reporting this would help or if there needs to be a big stack of reports first...
-
I don't mind both perks. They both have their ways to play around them. Some Quality of Life changes wouldn't hurt though. I'd like to get a notification when I finish cleansing a dull totem telling that the killer has NOED. So now I can decide if I should search other totems or deal with NOED in the end. Killer either gets more time since the survivors are more likely to search out the dull totems or still has NOED in the end. So good for both sides. Might even become a slowdown perk.
If DS would end after the killer hooks someone else I feel like it's fair. If you would get found again quick after that well that's just bad luck/ gameplay, I dislike that a perk can save you from it. I wish it would be an anti tunneling perk and not a second chance perk for a fixed amount of time.
The way these perks are right now isn't optimal but it works. I have matches in which I cleanse all totems and discover no NOED in the endgame screen or that I prevented NOED it's hit or miss. It's always risky to go for totems certainly in solo queue, I have lost for waisting my time on totems and I have won. Can say the same for slugging, sometimes it works for you and feels fair to do. Other times I hate doing it since it either turns into a waiting game or they have unbreakable. So sometimes I just take the chance and pick them up. I love those games without an obsession so you are sure there is no DS.
-
Thanks for answering, makes it a bit more clear. It could be a bug didn't think of that. I don't have a video but I hope to capture it today while I do my archive challenges. Fingers crossed I encounter both of them. The sound is definitely louder to a point that myers can't even sneak up anymore and Billy sounds wheezy.
-
Same here...
-
I never take such a kill because I want to earn them myself. That being said I am a sneaky survivor when I give kills or downs. I got a nurse on console today and she was struggling to get hooks. I think she was still learning so when the game was midway I abandoned the loop into a deadzone on purpose so she could catch me.
It just feels better when you play killer to hunt them down and catch them. You already know your not that skillful as (this) killer, so I level the playing field this way. Don't want killers to get discouraged especially something as rare as a nurse on console!
-
Facecamping and tunneling is more annoying than NOED will ever be for me. NOED pops in the endgame so I already got my share of bloodpoints and hopefully a fun game. Escaping the match isn't always a win for me, a great game ending with a sacrifice can feel like a win. Lately I just bring kindred in solo games so the team knows there is camping going on. I just keep hanging the full time and then move on to the next game. But that's about camping not NOED...
I watched a bit of the stream and to me it looked more like getting kills through camping/ tunneling. It also did effect the emblems and the amount of bloodpoints negatively. I don't mind going against NOED, if it happens a lot of games in a row I equipt detective's hunch to deny it in the endgame. Just to have a little fun in outplaying that strategy. I don't feel like the perk is a problem, there will always be players who use certain game mechanics or perks in a way the other team dislikes.
-
The queue on the nintendo switch is fine, for survivor I usually wait 3-8min and killer 1-2min. It depends on when you play; I get better survivor queue in the evening. I also tend to switch to killer when it nears the 8 min mark to avoid the waiting.
-
I understand the frustration. Sometimes I already figure out they are SWF when I get the lobby.... So you get time to plan a bit ahead. It will always be frustrating when they do things like you described because in my opinion it ruins the games experience. That being said I try to follow my own plan and not engage in what the survivors want.
Yesterday I got a SWF team who got me with a head on stun; after that I was on to them of course so I didn't let them lead me on again. They were so busy trying to get the head on stuns that they threw the game and started swarming around me to trick me into following to the locker... I just kept switching targets, getting a hit then leaving, luring them into dropping pallets/breaking those. It isn't like I enjoy these type of games the most but I make the best of it and can feel fine about the little things I achieve.
So try not to go after clicky-clicky baiting but carefully try to find the weakest link in the team. If they swarm the hook that's fine just be a little patient and instead of a hit just try to grab them during the unhook animation. And whatever they do stick to your own plan!!! Don't stop patrolling gens and try to force a three gen situation out of it. If they three gen themselves and you stay calm and don't let them lure you away in a chase you can still keep control over the game.
SWF objective is to mostly piss you off in a way that they get the upperhand and you end up being super tilted. Playing games is about having fun don't let the survivors take that away from you! I do get SWF who play good but those are not the problem here.. Some people seem to forget that if more killers stop playing the queue time just goes up. If they implement separate servers you will just increase the waiting time, just deal with the toxic SWF and stay in control. You win some, you lose some just prevent the powerless feeling afterwards.
-
Is your survivor rank below 10-12? Because in low ranks you'll encounter loads of mori's, face and proxy campers, tunnelers etc. Probably due to the fact those are low ranked killers who are still learning how to play fun and fair. I'm in red rank and am not seeing more mori's than usual and the way they are used is mostly okay (on last hook). So if you're in low ranks keep going once you go up in rank it will get much better.
-
The tips above are pretty helpful. I'd like to add that you should never let a survivor mend in your face in the open field after you landed a feral frenzy hit. Loads of survivors do this so just cancel frenzy and punish them for it (even with the stun they are never gonna make it to a pallet/window).
When I play survivor against a legion I postpone mending because the timer is really long (12 sec!). I just work on the generator until it nearly runs out and then mend. So keep that into consideration as legion. If you decide to go hit another survivor with frenzy I tend to return to the first survivor to chase them of the gen and down them.
I'm always looking for different perk builds but have found distressing really useful to extend the killer instinct info. Even if you don't go after them immediately you'll still know in which part of the map they are. Combining that with discordance to stop 2+ man gen rushing. I also like bloodhound since they will be injured all the time. For the fourth perk i've been using bloodwarden because with a good survivor team you will get to endgame. It depends on your hooking timing but it can even land you a 4K instead of no kills at all. Keep switching your perks though to keep it interesting.
-
It would definitely be nice if we got those perks on switch. I grabbed bloodwarden when it was up on the shrine, I've been wanting that one for a long time. You can tell that most players do not have that perk because most survivors make the fatal error of staying to long in the end. Would make it more challenging if more survivors expected it and ran instead of staying in the exit zone waiting to get pussed out. Easy pickings... If they implemented them now I would still buy Freddy/ Quentin and I think most will since the rework is great. π
