Oh. I'm not saying you're someone who is saying the game isn't survivor sided. Just say this forum in general. Is always hilarious 😂
Well those are the people I probably have in my games that dont do gens and rage quit when they go down.
People will think I'm horrible but people shouldn't be handheld and need to get better, plain and simple.
The only difference between a swf and solo should be communication over headset, we cant say solo queue is bad because the game throws awful players on your team. If someone never does gens and cant lead a chase that's not a solo issue that's a SBMM/matchmaking issue.
I did type alot more but forums signed me out so eh

BHVR matchmaking logic: player has been waiting for 10 minutes, so we should throw them in a terrible quality match to waste more of their time instead of letting them wait another couple minutes for a good match.
It drives me nuts too. My guess is that it's a symptom of being a solo survivor MMR outlier. It may be harder to fill lobbies at certain MMR brackets due to a combo of SWF and making the average MMR work with the killer, so it keeps expanding the range well past the point of common sense.
I know right! Certainly will not be playing at that time again ever.

This how last night was for me. I was on an 8 game streak with my Elodie (Might not sound impressive but I'm solo so it is) all came to an end with a DC, then a Chest hunter, then a Huntress tunneled me until 1 gen left (still a win for the team though).
8 is good dude, I'm a solo too so I know the nice feeling of having multiple good games in a row (more balanced ones where everyone is closer skill) but damn having to lose as many games as I did because of stupid stuff is unreal.
I just wanted a normal game...
@BrokenSouI said:
Ah yes. The hilarity that is this forum. This morning on the front page consists of 2 threads complaining about camping/tunneling and how DS NEEDS buffed and BT NEEDS to be basekit. And yet here we have an "82 %" escape rate. Which I'm willing to bet is more the normal for most. But hey. This game isnt survivor sided 🤷
I mean if you look at my posts you see I complain about BT basekit, weak killers DH etc.
I know the game is the survivors side especially when people actually play, but until BHVR realises they arent balancing the game correctly and are balancing around so bad players stand a chance against good players then yeah it wont improve.
(Note that 82% was in my recent small sample after I started playing again, but a face camping bubba will always be the worst playstyle a killer can do, I dont mind abit of tunneling and honestly I cant blame killers with this balance)

The worst feeling is when you run the killer for so long when it’s u and one other person left, just to find out they’ve done absolutely nothing the entire time :))
Oh when theres like 1 gen left with 50% progress and they hide instead of doing it.
Been there so many times its painful

I dont know, my queue times yesterday evening were a bit faster, but they are far away from 10 minutes anyway. But I am living in Europe, queue times in the US are way higher.
Queues are far better now probably too early to play
@Tsulan said:

Nevertheless, if someone has a queue that is longer than 2 minutes, I'd recommend to switch to the other side. Only way to prevent long queues.
@EntitySpawn now seriously, if the killer chased you for 10 minutes and no one did a gen, then the killer and the 3 other survivors were matched correctly. You getting in as a filler could have just been the mmr prioritizing shorter queues over fair matches.
Could be the case, but I know full well there are players much closer in skill than that. It's like the game just found the lowest possible and just gave up.
NEVER playing early again.

How many you got 122 or 123?
Yeah I know but they haven't fixed the cross gen yet sadly.
And I'm not sure tbh I know which I'm missing and where though.
How you find the combat challenges? Swear some are near impossible solo lol

Solo Q is hell.
Killer is hell.
SWF? They're having a good time. Sometimes.

Well the first 50 seems well matched, this morning has been an honest embarrassment

Solo-q is bad because you are not choicing your teammates. MMR is doing this. Sometimes you can have good team but most of times this game is so sad.
Not this consistently bad though, I understand the odd game but god damn this morning is a joke matchmaking wise

@Aneurysm said:
Yeah the camping has gotten old at this point. I still enjoy being in chase with bubbas, in fact this happening more than once per match would be ideal

Just a small reminder that this perk was nerfed 5(!!!) years ago, and while being one of the worst and less used perk in the game, it didn't received any changes since
CHANGE LOG
PATCH 1.2.0
- Buff: increased the Attack cool-down reduction of successful attacks to 10/16/22 %.
- Buff: increased the Attack cool-down reduction of missed attacks to 16/22/30 %.
PATCH 1.4.0
- Nerf: removed the Attack cool-down reductions for successful attacks.
- Buff: increased the Attack cool-down reduction of missed attacks to 20/25/30 %.
So just for fun, I've done some calculations and it seems like it's safe to buff it up to 90%, my main targer was to not make it broken, so walking same distance should be at least the same as hitting with unrelenting, and as 4.6 m/s killer it's fine, and time is literally the same. What do you think about this perk?
P.S my calculations, sorry for a bit of mess, not very experienced with making this stuff https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SEPDynGmkqlzaGNWo4exgEEodIqVr8Jr/edit#gid=1357112269
A better change would be recover faster from special attacks too, its get used ALOT if that was the case.
Although that may be abit too strong lol

Well the last time i really played was early December and I have no intention to return so....
I was kinda enjoying it till this happens, I dont get how my past 3 days was working well and then today...
I shouldn't be tunneled the whole game, use every pallet on the game map and still not see a gen pop.
I did 3 full chases, the only one to be chased and yet not a single gen, they just crouched around... like yeah SBMM clearly
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Probably more people playing Killer, because you get way more BPs as Killer so 1.5xBPs grants more BPs.
This means, less Survivors, so Matchmaking is expanding even more.
Yeah, SBMM is great. But Solo Q has always been miserable. And even if the Devs bring in those Icons which show what others are doing, it might not even change, because even if that Claudette in the corner of the Map sees that another Survivor is chased, she would not to do Gens, but this is not guaranteed.
If those Icons make it live at some point, it will probably be even more frustrating for Survivors, because you can see the teammates doing nothing.
Oh the icons definitely wont change anything, it's no different to the Mark's next to players to show their hook states.
People that play well already know what they need to do, all the icon thing will do is show when people arent doing anything.
People arent suddenly gonna stop crouching in the corner and never touching a gen to suddenly doing gens
@DatFastBoi said:

Aight I wanted to double check.
Anyway hi welcome to the solo queue experience most of us have been having all along, I'll be your guide and we hope you enjoy your stay.
Solo Q isnt bad it's the damn matchmaking.
You cant give me people with like 10 hours in the game while me and the killer have multiple thousands.
I expect the odd bad team or bad player but not a full team 9 games in a row
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Wasn't solo queue fine and your 83% escape rage was proof of this like a day ago?
That's my point how have I gone from that 82% to team members that do nothing?
9 games, either a DC, killing themselves on hook... I'm getting tunneled and so far the best is 3gens remaining...
I just used every pallet in the game map and still nothing...
Bet it's that stupid extra 0.5 BP

@burt0r said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2830388#Comment_2830388
Probably, and I am just assuming here, that the amount of DC between killer and survivor is statistically so slanted to one side that they know that queue times there would be so horrible that they become even more detrimental to the player retention for those that end up there.
I'm seriously just gonna uninstall.
10min chase and not one gen.
-
@burt0r said:
Yeah they should still implement a separate queue just for people that frequently DC like other games.

It makes no sense at all
Could be backfill, if a lobby takes awhile to fill up or a survivor backs out it can backfill worse survivors.
It happened to me today, awful team verse a very good huntress with good perks, it was a chore getting any gen done and they was all going down across map. I just moved onto the next game, no point dwelling on it as you cant do anything about it
-

I don't care about my rating
What I care about is the devs saying that escaping is the only expression of skill worth measuring in this game, and if you don't escape then you are "lower skilled" and should be matched with lower skilled opponents, which THEN leads you to dying even more because you're with people less experienced.
The term MMR hell? That's what that is
Oh yeah I dont like it either, and I know exactly what you're on about my brother is down there 😂 hes not even bad but no one does anything, he often dies on first hook when the killers not even by it.
That's one reason I wanted the old ranking system tweaked not a new SBMM based off escapes and kills

I’m happy with where I’m at rn. The only killers that really give me trouble are clown (yes i know I know) and spirit. Absolutely a sweaty nurse but I don’t count that. Just wish we could get more blood points and get the dead hard deletion
Damn I haven't seen a clown in ages! Did see my first artist in months though! She wasnt that good but it was nice to see her.
But as long as you're having fun that's all that matters in the end
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2829795#Comment_2829795
No I disagree, they should show us it
It would help to know if in solo q I'm being put with teammates who throw games/cause me to drop MMR because I'm low MMR myself or if the system just isn't working and I was put with people I shouldn't be
Solo Q is in the worst state its ever been in and its getting to the point where I'd rather just play killer instead. At least then when I lose it's all on me
But the game wont match you with players all the same MMR. The devs have said they go for lobby time first, while they do get an average they will soon expand the bracket.
Honestly you shouldn't care about your rating, it's a bad mindset. I play solo and trust me some people are very bad lol. Not to mention a bubba can legit just face camp you on first hook for 0 reason lol.
This game is too rng and imbalanced to focus on your rating, and I find issues in every other game that shows them with people being petty over others sadly

I think the soft-cap existing was actually confirmed by the devs. Though obviously not the absolute number.
Oh I'm not sure, I know they finally confirmed the kills/escapes and the backfill etc. And how it worked but didnt know they touch on that part.
I'll take your word on it if you're sure though, makes it easier than quoting leaks

Yeah your right. But you do get an idea. If you are getting garbage teammates your in low mmr most likely. If you get survivors that can basically loop you for a long time after getting 4ks then your in high. I do agree with you tho. They won’t show it unfortunately
I'm kinds glad they dont show it, would cause more arguments and have a bunch of people comparing stats of people.
The way I see it is, I know I'm good, iv always been good at the game and other games. I dont need to prove it on forums, I'm happy with my place and that's how everyone should feel
(I do wish I'd see a bigger range of killers though, hoping a DH nerf will help that)
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2829761#Comment_2829761
Though the numbers do increase/decrease depending on your opponents MMR and hatch escapes as well as matches where at least one survivor disconnects early don’t count.
in the end you are still assuming but don’t know for sure if high or low, or whatever in between
Well in that 82% none was hatch escapes, and a few of the deaths was due to a DC so if it works that way my escape % is actually higher.
Like I said though you cant be certain but if that type of win % isnt then what is? I already see so few killers lol
Assuming over a very good data though, but I dont rate this SBMM anyway. But the only way I could really get much better is always use meta and look through walls lol
-
@deKlaw_04 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/312325/is-there-some-way-of-seeing-your-mmr
You can see your mmr by the way your opponents are playing. Not always the case but you get an idea
That's not strictly true, sadly this SBMM does an average and puts queue times before the best matched games. So you could have a mid mmr and a high mmr survivor verse a high mid mmr killer for example. You also have backfill, which widens the brackets alot.
This next bit is leaked (same people who first leaked it was kills/escapes before the devs admitted it) and they say theres a soft cap of 1900, this means you can go over that but still count as that mmr (simply to help lobby times)
-
Well if I'm not high MMR with an 82% escape rate over the past few days then I dont know what is.
While no one can say for certain, we know escapes increase survivor mmr and kills increase killer mmr.
So if you escape far more than you die or get a 3k more than you do a 1k then you're obviously climbing the SBMM.
But iv played for 5+ years so I have a ton of experience and can tell when people are playing well.
Although this SBMM is very bad so it honestly doesn't mean too much
-
@konchok said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2826563#Comment_2826563
This comes down to people mimicking the strategies of role models. Streamers and Competitive players who are playing to win have gravitated towards camping and tunneling because it's effective strategies to win. This leads to individuals who watch them feeling like those strategies are valid strategies that they can incorporate into their own play. And they're not wrong.
But I do think that it's a game health issue. When killers camp and tunnel, then people just stop playing DBD because it's not fun to play.
But I don't think MMR has anything to do with this at all.
Agreed, although the SBMM encouraging kills over hooks as a win kinds does.
People like winning and like you say at the higher level (like comp) it's the best strat sadly

If that is indeed the case then yeah thats pretty darn sad. How fun can it be to stand staring at a hooked person all match and only get 1 kill after a +10min match
I dont mean this in a mean way at all when I say this, but your reply is adorable and I miss those thoughts.
Well basically at the higher level (in SBMM not in the grades, you cant actually see your skill rating) most killers struggle and they do better stand staring at a hook alot of the time.
The past few days of survivor iv escaped 41/50 games that's as a solo including games where survivors DC.
My advice to you is to always go for hooks especially since you're new, you'll have more fun and will hopefully be placed in a good spot to keep playing in a fun way!
Btw feel free to ask me anything if you need help! Played for 5+years and do both roles and all characters :)

Just about 60hrs on the game now, played a fair bit of killer now (for my amount played ofc) feel like I'm noticing that even if all survivors manage to escape and I only hook one person once (with leaving the hook to look for other survivors) I STILL seem to get more bloodpoints than I see killers who camp do.. Makes it hard for me to accept the idea that people are forced to play that way to get points..
It may be vastly different at higher mmr but even so the amount of campers I run into as survivor with less than 60 hours played is astonding. Its at least every 3rd match.
It's not for points it's for kills, and that's the sad part. They want kills so badly and dont feel able to they just camp....
Luckily today for me as survivor no one camped till end game (which is understandable) and games were much more fun.
-
But theres less windows so more pallets D:
Nah awful map, no idea why it hasn't changed. It was claimed to be too strong of a killer map so they added like 16 safe pallets
-
@BubbaDredge said:
Seems to me basing it on rankings is the obvious choice. People say "rank doesn't mean anything but how much you've been playing the game!" Yeah. People who play the game all the time should be playing against people who play it all the time.
That's also not quite how skill works, longer play time dont always mean more skill.
The old emblem system was better, issue is they tweak it and made it easier (less of a reset etc.) And that's when it started getting worse. All they had to do was cap altruism at gold, hatch escapes give silver and have the monthly reset a set about (going from rank 4 to 5 was a bad design)

@Topic:
I dont think they ever talked about a change to BP-Offerings. But they should really at least double the values, it is laughable to get 3k BPs max for a green Offering.
It's been ages, believe it was Patrick who spoke about it. It came up with the grind and useless offerings if I remember correctly.

Devs stated that mori's and keys would be removed from all character inventories. In its place a system that allowed survivors to earn keys by accentually bullying the killer. Once a survivor earned the key they became mori'able.
Long story short, the idea is dead with the current hatch changes.

Nah she wasnt that good but neither was the survivors so thats probably why I versed her. She did have some decent perks but that dont make the killer.
Dont get me wrong I'm not saying shes weak, shes just not fun to play and most killers dont get played. Iv versed about 6odd killers in those 50games lol

Shes really not, 50 games iv seen her once and even then she got 5 hooks and that was with a DC.

Well either speed or duration. When playing it felt like the green addon (forget name but it increased duration by 50%) was like the go to and needed addon.
Similar to how alot of killers get their most used addons made more base and a small change to the addon (ghostface recovery changes for example)
Feel it's not only encourage a hit and run scary gameplay but also make this addon not as needed especially as you go against stronger survivors.
Edit: may be thinking ahead, but it feels the same to GF recovery, PyramidH range etc. @MandyTalk

-
Remove the distance. It's the best option, I have a full post explaining it but in short.
Distance because it : corrects mistakes, allows you to greed another loop, make distances you normally wouldn't and hurts weaker killers more than the stronger ones (basically nerfing the distance will help low tier killers and not affect the higher antiloop one)
-
These are very good changes tbh, while she will still be weak at larger loops with full visibility shes certainly been made better.
My only wish was a slight burst of speed when first coming from a tv and demanifesting. (Very small % of course) that would of toned up the fear for me.
Now I just have to hope I see this killer in my MMR :(

As a killer, I despise Iron Will. I think it has a few design issues. It's way too powerful for little effort on the part of the player. There's no way for the killer to anticipate it the first time or counter it since the Stridor nerf. And most importantly, it goes well beyond eliminating grunts of pain. Survivors simply don't require oxygen at all when have Iron Will and they're injured. They don't breathe. Period. How this hasn't been fixed is a mystery. You have a killer in Spirit who is completely screwed by a single perk, in large part because it has been bugged since forever.
As survivor, I don't necessarily hate a single perk as much as I hate my teammates' ability to deal with certain perk combos. Pain Resonance/Dead Man's Switch is super annoying.
Yeah I'm not sure why survivor perks beat killer ones either. Do think that helped kill spirit tbh hardly ever see her.
Yeah that combo beats bad players or players that dont understand pretty easy lol

Since I'm console I'd just avoid all PC platforms, I'm tired of my games having hackers ruin it tbh and I'm not just on about DBD either.
