I'm just gonna say not a single rift has been even remotely good in my opinion, it's been all fillers and little value out of them, seems like a waste of auric cells.
-
Solo survivor which I play almost all the time is the most obnoxious experience in this game I've ever had, played a lot of killer aswell getting those annoying SWF squads which make your day impossible, and still manages to be less aggravating than solo survivor.
Take for example your average annoying killer with mori + tunneling strat, where your teammates instead of already knowing what to do (rush goddamn gens) They come face first to save you, and there you go, you're out of the match with 3k points because they couldn't get the message right.
-
How do some people consider the old Freddy any fun? Guy was straight up boring and always shoved a free hit up your back since you couldn't tell where the heck he was, the dream world felt more like a nuisance than an actual mechanic.
Also the fact that he couldn't be somehow bodyblocked cause he only dragged that tunneled surv into the dream world, denying any help from teammates? Really? That was just badly planned.
Freddy is way better now, not more fun to vs against cause he's been given way too much, but I prefer this one to the old version.
-
Reading some people still caring about the Ruin nerf is obnoxious.
It was the MOST unhealthy perk in the game, promoted RNG-Checks that were for the most part stupidly laggy, made games needlessly stressful for newer survivors, and the value of such perk was either decent or non-existent for the placement, just a bad idea overall and they kept it that way long enough.
Survs have been getting nothing but big nerfs for the most part in this year, I'm happy about the "god loops" getting fixed and all but some of you seem to like to just anger random people you don't even know about. So I don't know, take a chill pill and move on with the changes.
(The dead zones need to be fixed before live version, but I am certain that's not gonna happen until way way later)
-
Oni is the most fun out of the three
-
DC penalties are absolute BS when a game-breaking bug happens, which I've seen already 2 times forcing one of the two parties to DC and deprive the points.

Not invalid, i ran into 3 survivour out of 4 using these perk's 7/10 match atleast, you got those survivours who dont run crutch perks, admirable really, i like these survivours who can actualy play the game without crutch. But the rest cant. Just yesterday ran into 3 head on, 3 DS and 2 Adrenaline with 2 BT in a single match, and found more lately. I dont mind but kinda annoying.
DS is nearly mandatory nowadays cause I see most killers straight up tunnel the crap out of people if there's 0 having that perk, and neither do I play with "crutch" perks as a solo survivor and still gotta deal with cheap and straight boring gameplay tactics coming from killers.
We survs don't like seeing the same ol' freddy with pop/ruin/bbq and BS, it's boring and both parties have got their own annoying stuff, doesn't mean everyone uses it, but it's common to see and it denies the possibility of branching out to new perk builds.
-
You're not gonna be using your flaslight while you're running, removing this would be pretty bad.
-
So you're not gonna address at all the whole "Dead zones everywhere" issue that almost everyone is talking about?
This is a huge deal and survivors can't just hope to NEVER run into those zones if there are way too many in a chase without running straight to the killer's side and getting hit.
I don't believe that this is written anywhere in your patch notes and it is affecting the surv gameplay way too much.

You have to be baiting at this point mate. If you think it's that simple, you're the potato in red ranks.
You ignore the concept of positioning, maps that are more prone to 3-gens, slugging, who the killer is, etc. Kinda cringe bro
Reality is often disappointing.

You can’t be serious.. DS, BT, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, Syptic Bottle, etc. They have a ton for survivability. You can also go around many of these loops more than once before throwing a pallet.
the issue is that things have been way too easy for survivors for over a year. The second they might require 1% more skill they lose their minds.
In terms of game balance, if you’re escaping 50% of the time and dying the other 50% then everyone is fine. It sounds like survivors want to escape every time or else it’s not “balanced.”
My GF started playing 2-3 months ago. She’s red ranked survivor. She doesn’t even know how to loop killers and just holds W. She escapes more than half her games.
You have no idea what you’re talking about.
Don't think your GF's red ranks are the real red ranks, or you're just living under a rock.
I play solo survivor without any of your silly listed perks/addons since I don't rely on those, don't think you know way better when you don't even know how I play, fella.

Are you seriously upset they’re requiring survivors to have a little more skill than to run pallet to pallet throwing it mindlessly? Hopefully this will get rid of the potato survivors in red ranks.
Survivors don't have more options than just pallets for most of their survivability so you tell me what they're supposed to do if there's nothing else.
Edit: Typo.
-
Are you out of your mind? Freddy has a ton of crap going with him already, nobody likes it.
I agree however that Pig needs love since god-knows how long, she's been buried.

And here I thought forums were supposed to have useful/Interesting stuff in them, but it's filled with these threads instead.

No you don't NEED to but you can't honestly tell me eliminating one person early doesn't allow for the most snowball potential.
People wouldn't tunnel if it didn't reward them.
Tunneling to win is never an option since the smart survivors will exploit that and there you go, gens popped and you leave with absolutely nothing.
I sat for a long while in the red ranks as killer without resorting to either camping or tunneling, trying to justify it from the very start of the match is just nasty and proves why so many people decide to go SWF to screw you up instead.
It wouldn't be cool if you got out of the game within 2 minutes when you've waited in the queue more than 5 isn't it? Some of us are solo trying to have a chill game.
-
Friendly reminder: Some people -might- still be trying to do that silly open the hatch challenge.
They've got the right to complain if you just go full jerk on then and make them leave with 4k, that's just annoying.
-
Who even said killing the god loops was bad?
And yeah, Ruin was necessary since it was an unhealthy as hell perk.
-
I mean definitely I'd be up to having some sort of opening animation for the hatch instead of this sudden pop-up that gives no reaction time at all.
Anything would likely be better than leaving it as it is.
-
Because connection is a big big deal with this perk, I've been in that situation for a crazy amount of times and it's just nasty, hopefully they can fix it somewhat soon.

Bro chill, almost every survivor nerf has had a trade off, the same couldn't be said for killer this past year
Not going nuts over it or anything, just saying it can backfire badly on the long run, just depends on how they manage this stuff.
-
These kinda posts are the reason everyone believes this is filled with killer mains, seriously.
-
Not sure how the PTB is gonna turn out, loving the gen changes and all, however with the survivors getting more and more nerfs to their survivability we're gonna need something soon, loops are all getting severely nerfed/instaheals gone (thank god for that actually)
Some maps are gonna be smaller (Not sure yet how much) which could be troublesome to deal with some killers (looking at you Doctor)
It's really up to be seen how it turns out in the test, but for now these are just my concerns so far.
-
I can already see trouble in smaller maps with huge TR doctors around...
Hope it ain't the case but jesus that's gonna be unfun if it ends up being that way.
-
Can't believe people are still asking for DS reworks when it is way better right now.
-
Boring: Freddy, he's got literally everything in the game and usually goes with PGTW + Ruin along with an obnoxious playstyle, survivors are already tired of the same M1 gens just so this guy can TP and kick at any time he wants.
Doctor, his reworks were needed but jesus they topped it off a little bit too much, this guy just plays full TR, brings just as much slow downs as Freddy and is stupid as hell.
Clown, well, it's just boring cause he's lacking anything interesting and is more of a pain for the killer than it is for the survivors really.
TL;DR Overloads of utility and lack of counters suck, (Clown is just boring though)
-
Servers
-
Killer: Spirit
Survivor: Ace
-
You're already paying for the game, paying extra for getting the exact same amount of cells where as some other systems that are free to play you end up having even more of the currency at a lower level feels not only underwhelming but quite a scam, since the cosmetics are gonna end up in the shop anyway from what I've heard what's the point?
Charms are lacking, there's very few ones that have got some nice look to them and that's it, this whole idea of a pass seems hollow and simply meaningless, it doesn't fit in this game at all.
-
Last Year feels better not because of simplicity as such, but rather that the killer cannot be an a-hole towards one person in particular and straight up ruin their day. Tunneling is not an option as they will get themselves killed in a matter of seconds with the whole team on their back, and they cannot camp around locker rooms because that would give them problems aswell.
It feels (and it is) that the devs of Last Year really want to improve their game and fixed many core problems in a matter of days where as the DbD ones took forever to do (and still haven't fixed...) DbD relying on running in circles around an object and looping, then M1 a gen for a whole minute or so is just so underwhelming and boring that I can't understand how people enjoy this gameplay.
Last Year is more forgiving and the devs are aswell making a path for an easier time to learn the mechanics so that survivors don't have the most frustrating experience ever and are actually able to have fun while making some rookie mistakes.
I think by this point it is undeniable that Last Year does deserve a much better spot in the future and it should up the game for BHVR to get them out of their comfort zone with DbD, so they can make real impactful changes.
-
Chillax console players, the devs said they want to release on consoles! Some time soon enough you will have your wish come true.
As for this chapter, hell yes it's promising, they've been working really hard with the patches first week the game launched and want to show what they've got, can't wait for this chapter to release.
-
Just because you don't like the game, it doesn't mean it's "an abysmal wreck", DbD had some seriously dark times and it's still there.
-That wasn't my point but whatever, there's not enough competition for DbD AND there's not gonna be much more anytime soon, the game is good, it just feels like some people want everything perfect out of the first impression, the quality of the game is undeniable and it only requires time to polish and tweak.
-We must be playing very different games, there's no way to get lost with all the info the game gives you and plus now you've got extra AI mobs which stall the survivor's time for free, the matchmaking is something they're looking into right now.
-Again, the killer has a LOT of power in this game, you're turning the negativity out of nowhere, a lot of killers I've seen can just handle everything with a clear strategy and they don't die or struggle that much at all.
-I don't know how many games you've played but I disagree a lot about the controls.
-You're just following a herd of people who want to blame the devs for everything and completely forget the "Discord" part, I stand by the fact that they're still trying even when there's so much toxicity around.
And no, I'm not denying any obvious faults, I'm denying your points because they don't feel like proper ones, it feels like somebody who's trying to make a mess out of nothing, nobody I've seen is having the same troubles as you are.
-
The game just released and people are already dragging it to the ground, jesus.
-The concept behind feels way better than what we've got in DbD, offers a lot more of variety, and requires teamwork from the survivors.
-I don't see how killer is disorienting to you when the survivors are highlighted within a radius, it feels like you're not even trying to play the killer if you think of this as an issue.
-You can tell when you can kill someone because they're totally in the ground, I don't see the issue here again.
-The spawning is fairly easy as you only have to get out of sight and you are still able to be like right next to them.
-If you are getting swarmed by daring survivors, change your strategies, don't go face to face against a full group since that is more on you being careless, you've got a plentiful of options to deal with them.
-4 killers in the game who've got different ambush spots, several different stats and gameplay styles, instead of just a random power and M1...
-The devs were abandoned by discord, if they had the intention to take your money and run off, this relaunch wouldn't have happened.
It's really tiring when all I see is negativity around a great concept which needs time, nobody wants to talk about the many problems DbD has, I only see the same ones over and over again out of a pile, so stop calling Last Year a dead game and at least give it a chance.
-
This is some really painful bug to deal with right now, the first time it happened I got basement hook'd in the Oni map, I also didn't get the chance to wiggle and I had to wait the full hook timer without a chance to escape at all popping up. The struggle phase was fully automatic aswell, not a single pop-up to press a key.
-
If you're getting camped your best bet lies in wasting the time of the killer staying the full time on the hook if nobody rescues you, hopefully your teammates will notice it and will gen-rush as punishment against the killer.
And just like that the killer has waited god knows how long to only achieve a 1k with less than 10k points, it's a way to annoy them for playing like that.

I do like you mentioning me being 'haywire' because from my perspective you were offering a generic biased response.
Ultimately I wanted to hit certain points which I did and your response was 'some people don't'. Well if those people are happy being tunneled off the hook and ending the game with 3k or less that's their prerogative. Each to there own.
Well, might I ask for some solutions that come from the top of your head for this matter? Cause from what I see your comments aren't exactly any better than what I say. I'm not trying to take some sides here, just trying to be objective on both while you only talk about everything being killer centric even though the game was highly favoured towards survivors from the very start.
Right now we are sitting at a better spot where I would say survivors are seeing a lot of changes that might seem detrimental (and they are) so it's harder to play that side, but it's gonna pay off eventually with the recent nerfs coming the killer way.
But then again, if you're gonna call out some "killer main bias" where there is none, I believe there's just no point in discussing with you at all, I will just cut it short here.
-
Yeah, well, it's pretty hard to write in a positive manner for both sides since there's always that one person who jumps at you.
Whatever it is, you're gonna see a lot of those negative posts with no argument whatsoever.

It's interesting to read your post because of the separation you created... it literally highlights the bias I mentioned.
1) All survivors who d/c are toxic and don't like to lose?
2) All survivors who are 'fair' will play the whole game no matter what?
Some killers are 'frustrating' but changes coming: I'm trying to be polite but your points are very generic and over simplified arguments that clearly comes from a killer bias. There is no perspective as far as perks/plays or gameplay styles that contribute to this. The killer is a passive player in this? ofc not. Look I don't want to dunk on your points too much. But honestly it reads like someone who sees the narrative being formed on the forums and so follows it.
The only thing I really have to say is that if you automatically assume that your an independent agent of change I 100% guarantee you, you're not.
I'm sorry, bias? Trying not to create some bad vibes here but I believe you're being pretty rude with your response out of nowhere, I call out on survivors who DC right after being downed and generally have bad manners, you're just seeing what you want to see. Survivors could also DC due to some IRL emergency.
And I've seen a plentiful of players take the whole match no matter how badly it goes.
So calm down, you don't need to go haywire on whatever points I make if they're not to your liking.

The truth will be in the pudding. The whole reason survivors d/c nowadays is that the devs have created games where some killers can just make it an absolute miserable experience for them.
This forum is killer centric too, which is just the same as the subreddit was/is, which is just a flow on from things like the marketing of this game being centered around killers.
The problem it creates is that there's no perspective. Which is why the average survivor will just d/c a miserable game. Rather than spend time to come here and explain then get railed on by the bias.
I'm not happy if they nerf BL. But they've nerfed so many things that it just 'adds to the misery' at this point. Time will tell if its too much.
From my experience the only survs that dc are those who cannot accept losing and generally are toxic, nobody I know who is a fair player would dc just out of a bad experience, they will just take it and move on.
It's true some killers are just frustrating, but changes are on the way and it's gonna be more bearable for the survivor experience.

Wow, he has been out for two days now and he is already over performing. I think if enough survivors cry and DC, they will eventually nerf him. So more nerf threads please
This joke has been burned out by this point.
-
Oni seems completely fine in that regard, if you nerfed the power gain rate it could take possibly way too long for way too little reward/time to use such power.
Two hits on healthy survivors looks like a good trade for having your power on.
-
For the times I've played against SWF they usually screw up due to over-confidence and extreme altruism, I do believe it is pretty rare to find those really optimal teams. It takes too much time invested in the game to be that good, and you could always attempt to find first the weakest link of said team.
Soon as you start snowballing, they panic.
-
If they had gone for bigger changes with spirit, it would've been probably a terrible idea.
It's way better if they approach little by little with this character since it is as easy to break as the nurse was.
-
I hope you don't feel far behind, cause I'm sitting at tier 18 right now due to being lazy about it, I think you're on the good trail atm.
-
I have been playing solo survivor for like most of the time I spent in this game, I used to rely a bit on Balanced Landing to get used to the exhaustion perks but really, with time I feel you just don't really need BL or even an exhaustion perk if you're feeling confident enough.
Also BL brought a bit more of an advantage over other choices, thanks to the stagger reduction which didn't care about you being exhausted or not. I feel this change isn't really a negative thing, it only affects people who really abused Haddonfield's loop in Myers's house, in any other place I would say you won't notice that much of a change. It's rare that you would fall 2 times in a row in the same chase and still get some sort of advantage from it, but that's my point of view for this matter.

I absolutely love all the comments which seem to be so so survivor sided coming from survivor mains. People like some of you survivor mains who think so survivor sided deserve to be camped at tunnelled a lot of the time. That's why there is a rise in camping and tunnelling cos a lot of the time killers just cannot be bothered going through the same trashy notions of loop and teabag, loop and teabag, loop and teabag thinking you guys are hot stuff. Well guess what you aren't the only reason you have the upper hand is due to how survivor sided the game mostly the maps (haddonfield) and the tools that you are given by the Devs to promote toxicity
You need to chill, it's a game and nobody here as far as I'm concerned has said anything about bm'ing killers or teabagging them to tilt, also survivors aren't the only side that can be toxic as you are promoting in your comment to camp and tunnel people who just happen to think differently, just take it easy.
EDIT: Random typo.

Well he have been proven again and again that if a good team do gen properly and the one chase drop every pallet. Guess what they will finish all gens by the time you destroy every pallet.
I play many games even friday the 13th who had a tough balancing for Jason was fun at least. DBD isn't fun at all when getting beaten like never. Balancing can't be good for DBD because there is too many biased people, People that think BL on haddonfield is actually balanced.
Insta-heal is still strong just more skill involved except for purple one that is better than before. BL create infinite by itself and Nurse is not there anymore to counter these against the best teams. It's a video game man a PvP one the goal is to win, If killer can't win consistantly even by trying so hard that's not normal.
What is winning to you exactly?
A killer should know when to drop a chase rather than insist on it, I've seen a plentiful of games thrown out like this where said killer would get, at most, 1 person killed because they neglected to change targets to the "weakest" link in the team.
And I've yet to meet people who believe Haddonfield is balanced, everyone I've seen is against such map, if not, they're obviously pretty biased.
As one mod once commented, the game is meant to be a 2/2, escape, and kills, a 4k is meant to be really hard to achieve and it's not for anybody, it either involves crazy good survivors on your matches, or you're just messing up in something from your playstyle, whatever it is, attempt to adapt to new strategies.

Brace yourself, the worst is yet to come.

Good survivors still control everything. They control how much time a game should last (Gen Rush), They control killers power (Plague), They control how killer should be nerfed (Nurse , Spirit and next Hillbilly).
And you are telling me that the game is not survivor sided. I laugh because most player on these forum that play killers don't have my survivors. When i read your comments he look like you get potatoes he happen to me sometime but mostly i verse the best teams we can get on DBD.
Trust me good survivors still control how the flows should be. I do admit that DBD have never been so much balanced than now.
Balancing a game sounds easier on paper than in practice, but I hold my point that this game has lost that tremendous survivor sided logic, the pallet vacuum is gone, the window blocker happened, bloodlust happened and so on and so on. It used to be the most demoralizing experience for killers and that much I can see for myself.
However, whenever I play as a killer I didn't have that many issues and most of all, there's just no point sweating it off in this game, there's no real rewards for pipping/ranking up. If you get gen-rushed with ruin that pops off in the first couple of minutes? Tough luck, just move on to the next game, or play something else instead.
This game is notorious for producing really bad vibes and give some frustrating experiences which I do not recommend at all, so I'd stop playing altogether for a while.
Also being a good survivor is painful if your team just screws everything up such as wasting pallets, not saving in time, or just urban evasion around the corners of the map, which is my solo survivor experience and you can't just rely on yourself to do everything.
