I thought that'd be the case at first, but Nemesis and Plague have totally different playstyles. Their similarities are only superficial. Plague creates lose-lose situations around cleansing and has an insanely powerful ranged attack that survivors have to give her; Nemesis has almost no benefits to survivors 'cleansing' and a much weaker ranged attack that he builds up over the course of the match and can get on his own even if he can't hit survivors at all, and unlike her, he never powers down. Nemesis is also a pallet muncher like Demo - who he plays much more like than Plague. Plague is a snowballer with powerful anti-stealth.
Anyway, I like playing Nemesis quite a bit. The zombies are a fun mechanic and very useful for giving you direction during the match, and his M2 is easy to use even if it has the extra health state involved. Yeah, it extends a chase if you infect a survivor instead of damaging them, but I get along just fine when I M2 in places I wouldn't have gotten the M1 hit. Yeah, he's considerably weaker than Nemesis would be, but there's no way his power level could be held true in a game that gives you flashlights and pallets to fend him off rather than high ordinance. I'm having fun with the big guy.
You do bring up a valid point, its just as you say, this game cannot hold justice to how he is in RE3, that's why I was kinda hoping for the Dimi daughters as people started guessing way earlier, it would've been interesting to see what they did with those three.
And honestly would be the first bug-related killers, I'm just a tad bit dissapointed in how nemmy was executed in the long run since apparently not a lot of people play him now out of the pbe, or so I heard, I wish it was a bit different.
Regardless I do believe he seems kinda fun even if it isn't my pick.
-
Nothing to really add, I do believe as much that he was wasted, and even though he's an icon (and I get how important that can be) he's a really bad pick for a game like this.
More recent games such as the 7 and village had more human-like/sentient and potentially better for powers regarding dbd, Nemesis is just plague 2.0 now with zombie AI, its as good as it gets and now nobody will play her if he exists.
It really just boils down to being an icon and not being the best for this game.
-
My team is a bunch of rank 20 survs who crouch next to hooked survs and dont rescue them, meanwhile I'm doing most of the gens, literally 3 on my own, entire team dies.
Guys let's take out the hatch! Why leave it for someone who actually tried to win the game?
-
Not really, Spirit is busted af and there's a plethora of reasons why so many people dislike her as a whole.
I'm talking both sides, by the way.
-
I have to say, amazing work on this post, I absolutely love the effort and amount of details you poured into it.
The one thing that stirs me so much about this game, and it feels like its never adressed (or never will be) is the G R I N D part, honestly, the Battle Pass is grindy AF (or used to at least in the previous ones). It also gives no extra progression or challenges for buying the premium one which is really out of place for someone who doesnt have all the time in the world, then the bloodpoints part and the random 1M cap which should've been raised by this point already with all the killers and survs that we've got in the game.
It feels like a korean game all over or even worse at times, and the bloodweb idea needs a rework so at least you wont spend a thousand hours just so one character can get a T1 perk you've been looking for. Prestige should also keep ALL the perks you've had, even if they're downgraded in tier or whatever as long as you dont have to start over for some bloody cosmetic.
I do feel like dbd has been somewhat doing better, but the whole problem with not telling about the colorblindness mode they were working early on and other huge hiccups in their patches are really tearing it down.
They could've saved themselves so much trouble if only they said it was a work in progress early on instead of revealing it the way they did.

Yes.

This isnt about lgbtq+. This is literally about banning because of a cosmetic.
If i say i dont like the charm and say i tunneled because of the charm, i get banned. Regardless of my actual intentions or feelings. Regardless if im bigoted or not.
So by that logic, if i tunnel Elodie or Adam then i must be racist?
All im saying is that automatically ascribing motive to someone is wrong. And if you do it for a single cosmetic, then you have to do it for all of them or none of them.
And yes i feel that even if someone says they did it because of the charm, that isnt grounds for punishment. Just like if someone said, I tunneled because Adam.
And while i wholeheartedly agree that tunneling because of a cosmetic, especially a near invisible charm cosmetic, is stupid, people have their motives. And not every person has malicious or bigoted motivations.
The stuff you're trying to justify or talk about has already been answered multiple times, either in my previous comments, or by others.
I don't know what you're trying to pull by this point, there's nothing else to offer as an answer, and there's no way you simply don't understand why people make out a fuss out of this already.
I haven't seen a person actually get banned under what you think.
-
I'm at a loss for words if you can't understand that the pride flag is not something that "just means something to a specific person", it's the literal definition of the wiki.
v
The rainbow flag (also known as the gay pride flag or LGBT pride flag) is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) pride and LGBTQ social movements. The colors reflect the diversity of the LGBTQ community, as the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride during LGBTQ rights marches.
^
This is not about rainbows and hating them or whatever, whether you have some individual thoughts or else about it, it doesn't suddenly stop being what it was meant to be at the beginning.
Mind you this whole fuss about LGBT stuff did not start after the pride charm but rather as soon as people thought All-Kill chapter was starring LGBT characters, and these things only happen as soon as something LGBT appears in whatever you imagine. It shouldn't be surprising to you that whoever belongs to it is already tired of these kinda posts and stuff, there's really a lot of bigotry outside, and believe it or not, tunneling a character for whatever reason is not equal to tunneling a person who's open about being in this group for the hate reasoning, crimes out there tell you volumes about what happens to gay or trans people nearly every single day.
That's my two cents.

Why? They are both cosmetics. If no reason is offered other than because cosmetic, why is one bannable but not the other?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228090#Comment_2228090
I agree, live and let live. But you can't ascribe intention to a strangers actions. Just because you think someone hates LGBTQ+ because they don't like rainbows does actually mean you are correct. I get you are most likely correct in this instance, but if we can ban for tunneling 1 cosmetic, what's to say we can't ban for tunneling any other cosmetic?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228092#Comment_2228092
To me the left 4 dead charm mocks physically disabled people because it is missing a finger. Im offended if im wearing it and get tunneled. No one is going to ban that killer. Why? They are both cosmetics. Why is one bannable but not the other?
I insist the left 4 dead charm represents no minority, at least vocally, you can't quite compare a videogame's iconic logo to a literal flag, a flag that is about the pride of being you and about fighting against oppression. It's something people unite under to fight together so that one day the hate crimes will end, or we will get proper respect out there.
Then again I would also like to point out that tunneling out of a strategic decision is not a bad thing regardless of a person wearing the pride or not and being the target, the difference is whether it is a logical decision, or a hate-based one, and nobody will get randomly banned for it.
The only reason to get banned is if you explicitly say you tunnel people because they're LGBT+ or respect said group, not because of wearing a charm.
The context is what matters, nothing else.

Still, they didn't even do anything major to the keys and now in the future we have to earn our mori's while survivors can simply run plunderer builds and open chests 24/7. Does that seems fair to you?
They talked about key changes in the stream, yet you fail to mention that in the OP, the game isn't all about killers only, and that is not the point of the whole thread.
-
You don't know yet what's gonna happen to the moris, neither does the rest of the community.
Talk about it when it actually happens, not before, or we're gonna get panic threads everywhere just for this.

So would it be reportable if i tunneled someone and said it was because of the left 4 dead hand charm?
The purpose of your post is specifically about the pride charm, the left 4 dead hand holds no symbolism towards LGBTQ+ or any other minorities.
And yes, there's little to no reason to tunnel someone because of the pride charm, the main one to believe and the most likely is simply irrational hate towards said people, which while it isn't always the case, if you're vocal about it you're being a dum dum and there's nothing else to it.
Live and let live and nobody gets in trouble for it.
-
If the timer runs out on you, that's most likely a mistake in your gameplay choices, not the perk being "bad" or overly nerfed.
The perk is far too good, it doesn't need a buff.

Pretty sure that this can be a reason for banning.
saying Feng has corona because she is Chinese seems pretty racist to me at least…
This ^
Legit I've seen so many cases of people harassing the chinese because of the whole covid 19 going on, that qualifies as harassment, whether in game or not, you're asking for trouble.
Saying stupid stuff is your own choice and most likely, you're gonna pay for it.
-
To me its either Dimitrescu or Jack Baker, they both fit just fine within the game, they're sentient beings with a proper personality, meanwhile Mr.X and Nemmy are pretty much robots.
And to be fair the latter wouldn't fit without weapons and how would you even do that.
-
OH MY LORD
-
Well BT is finally countering some BS strats, besides now the endurance timer is shorter and easier to deal with.
I see no issues with it whatsoever.
-
It's hardly gonna be meta when other perks already exist.
We talk about these things every time and not a single one of them ends up replacing the already meta ones, get over it.
-
Somebody actually cares about the lore in this game?
It's just gameplay stuff, the story ain't tolkien levels of rich or anything, it's not gonna be broken just because something is a bit outside of what they tell.
-
The only horror is the current solo queue state, no thanks.
It needs serious changes and soon.
-
Solo buff has been requested for ages by this point, it's an urgency.
We buff the killers first and then you can expect killer queue simulator, because the pacing of the updates makes it tediously long.
Solos have to deal with either ultimate potato teammates, who crouch at the corners of the map, or let you die on first hook, or even the guy who just suicides first hook, or AFK dudes.
Meanwhile Killer has nobody to worry about, so...
I think the priority is pretty clear here, it's not the killers who have to struggle with bots.
-
Uh so, basically if we want to give the extra points or wait in case someone gets hooked, screw survivors for it?
I've never seen somebody whine about BP gains.

DS is supposed to be an anti-tunneling perk. These new changes confirm that.
You shouldn't get to keep it if you aren't being tunneled.
A 5 sec stun won't stop a tunneling killer if they still have a beef with you for some reason.
DS won't stop tunneling or even deter since it seems like every time a killer sees a DS pop up, they get angrier and try to kill you even more.
-
Some of you guys really need either some fresh air, or just playing something else.
These kinda posts are just so unnecessary.

Nurse is completely fine for how hard she's to play.
Spirit is not, too much potential for nearly no skill at all, she can perfectly be nerfed.

give in to their whims? lmao every killer the survivors wanted nerfed has been or will be nerfed.
If killers had their way half the maps in the game would be reworked to a much higher standard.
If killers had their way, all the current meta perks for survivors would be nerfed to the ground, since every time you enter the forums, all you see is threads whining about one or another, and that would leave the survivors with a lot of mostly useless perks that aren't used because the devs won't give them attention at all until at least 5 years have passed.
On another hand, certain killers that are still unhealthy for the game have been like this for several months (even years), so I don't know about you, but you've got a lot of time with them, if they're ever gonna get nerfed to begin with.
And here we are with another dead hard thread instead of the important stuff.

Latency problems are irrelevant. I don’t see the devs rushing to buff plague or doctor even though they get cucked by latency all the time.
Instadowns? Lol we pretending that every down is gonna be an instadown now?
again it goes back to mettle of man because i remember that being a big excuse at the time “just use instadowns”
Comparing dead hard to mettle of man is a very weird move, one required you to take protection hits, which at the time mostly didnt work correctly, and required you to hinder your own team when it came to performance just to try and get them.
Dead Hard is, it really really is an -exhaustion- perk, its meant to give distance, its such a simple concept to grasp and its like everyone is going nuts over this perk which isn't so hard to deal with.
You can't deny that going from healthy to downed is pretty much taking out one perk from the loadout in exchange for a hook state, that's just it.
God forbid survivors have an active exhaustion ability, the horror.

“Requires you to be injured”
Wow, huge requirement. I’m sure thats not likely to happen over the course of a game. Sounds very similar to the old mettle of man defence too.
Let's just ignore the amount of instadowns implemented in the game, or the latency issues, or the game bugs which happen to render the perk useless at times.
-
So basically we're gonna whine about a perk that requires you to be injured, and serves the main purpose of an exhaustion perk, which is to gain a slight advantage of distance.
Its not that big of a deal as it seems to be made of in the forums, seriously, its mostly you being exhausted in the ground.
The perk is fine as it is.

I take Stridor on Spirit only because if I don’t I go against 3-4 iron will users.
For a killer that can’t see and relies on sound there’s no point putting yourself at a disadvantage against silent survivors
You can see scratch marks, with an addon you can see blood stains, you can see grass moving when there's some of it around and you can pretty much zone people out with short bursts of your power.
Seems to me like spirit sees just enough, she still gets too many clues.
-
This sounds to me less about maining spirit and more about stridor within your build, it straight up negates the only counter the survivors have against your killer.
Spirit is already good as she is, perhaps too much even, slapping stridor on is pretty much overkill , while that doesn't give anyone the right to bully, you'd better be expecting a lot of salt with that perk.
Nobody likes to wait in queue to just lose without a chance at all, that's what happens the most with that combo, and it's a problem that only happens with either stridor spirit or game-dragging forever freddy.
-
So we basically kill the entire concept of what these exhaustion perks do which is keep distance from the killer?
You'd be breaking deathslinger and legion, making borrowed time straight up useless against tunneling campers and also negating dead hard so it now just occupies a slot without doing anything in a chase.
There's a lot of things to fix in this game, exhaustion perks are not that thing.
-
Chill, this game ain't really worth it to be competitive on.
-
To be fair, DbD never aimed to be (and never strikes as) scary, at all.
I'm fine with what we've got.
There's already a lot of joke cosmetics and stuff, it's not like this is horrendously bad for the game, it's about diversity.
-
The killer seems like a blast to play, really interesting addons (especially the ricochet one) and overall I'm loving how expressive he is in game, perks are also amazing this chapter (except the exhaustion one which seems really niche in comparison).
However I found I was kinda dissapointed they actually did nothing with this whole fire theme, like scars in the face of the survivor, otherwise why bother hiding it so much? Or the killer, any would've done it, I feel like it was a wasted chance, since they teased it around so much.
Other than that, interesting chapter, shame no map with this theme, I'd love it.

I can somewhat understand wanting specific races in a game, but sexuality has no relevance to anything whatsoever. I have a lot of experiences with the LGBT+ community, and most of my experiences, similar to the opinions and statements by people in this thread, had done nothing but cause me to want as little to do with it as possible. LGBT+ these days has fallen into the same extremist issues that liberal politics has had happen to it, which has its own ties to the LGBT+ community itself, in that it's a small amount of people trying to make everything about gender, and trying to force ridiculous things onto people, but when you start to use their own logic against them, suddenly you just hate non-straight people.
But sure, it does go both ways in that people who are racist or people who are offended by anything other than their own sexuality would complain about a character they main being gay or trans, but well, who cares about those people
While I get where you're coming from, you're speaking of another minority within the lgbt+, everyone is a different world and yes, there's people who are really dumb within lgbt, and outside of lgbt, the problem with this is that overall you won't see anything but the people outside argue that this is some agenda and political thing when there's a character introduced into the media being LGBT, extra points if its a main character.
Being LGBT myself I love having some characters like this, not because of the whole just sexuality or whatever, but because the struggles they represent can feel real and relatable to many of our experiences, it is a painful existence out there being within LGBT, especially if you're being chased with hate crimes, which sadly happens all too often.
In a perfect world nobody would care about a character like this at all, they would accept it as normal, rather than make a big fuss about it, but with how things are nowadays, and will probably be for a really long time, it's a bless that we even get a minimal representation in the things we love.
So yeah, even if there's extremists within the LGBT, which happens, they're not important, most of us I can tell just want a bit of peace and acceptance, not to force ######### on people.
-
@Alphasoul05 said:
I don't understand why people care about sexuality in a video game. Why? Why do you care? I don't care if a character is any color, race, sex, whatever, so I don't get why people always ask for it. I'm Asian and I don't play only Asian characters because it technically "represents" me. If no character has a sexuality, then you can roleplay every one of them as being anything.
You could tell that to the hordes of people that, as soon as they know there's LGBT stuff in their game (other games of course, although this one at some point), they go nuts and start boycotting everything out of spite and because FoRcEd AgEnDa and that bs, lol.
-
While I for one feel good about an lgbt character (an open one that is) I'm still really concerned about the current state of the game, and since they really won't do health operations since they keep wanting to do them in badly prepared mid-chapter patches, I guess there's just nothing we can do as much as we try to bring the feedback to them.
I'm just hoping there's no hate threads or posts over the forums.

Jesus christ, for once I was hoping for an actual fix.

Generators are uninspired mini games that take 0 skill or mental capacity to do. It'd be nice if they had some actual mechanics to them, or at least different mini games in place of the "sKiLl ChEcKs"
You know, when ruin had red skill checks it was a sort of challenge doing gens, you actually were focused on doing great skillchecks in order to progress and I can tell you the new ruin is more a crutch perk(as some people says) then the old one was. They reworked it beacuse for new players was too much of an hassle, despite I remember being rank 13 survivor for the first time and could hit great skillchecks 90% of the time. Now it is a brainless "minigame". Change my mind
Old ruin was unhealthy af because of the nature of old skill checks.
You could get 1 in a single generator, or you could get 15 within like 30 seconds of working on it.
Plus we're not even gonna mention the horribly laggy skill checks I suppose, which made things even harder because again, you had no control over it, they were broken and most people dont like it when you get stuff that does not work properly and relies on a lot of luck when it comes to how many skill checks happen.
So yeah I'd say it was way more of a brainless minigame since you were being punished for a badly designed mechanic based on luck.
-
He should by default start with all of his traps, as you mentioned, at least his preparation phase would be a bit shorter and it would cut him some slack to go after survivors much earlier.
But then again its like something from trapper gets broken every patch, so its like buffing him means nothing for some reason.

My point was looping m1 killers on most maps takes minimal skill. This is how most survivors want the game, with the calls for destroying any killer than has control or input in a chase.
Why is it then only an issue where killers dont take too much skill? A lot of the game doesn’t yet only certain killers seem to be held to that standard
Hes definitely overrated we’ve seen many a good freddy struggle against teams that play safe and do gens. Just because you see him a lot doesnt mean that isnt the case. Just because hes overrated hes still better than half the roster. Main reason freddys win is because the game is plentiful with survivors who want to do anything but generators.
Any killer bar Nurse can be beaten by “rushing gens” i.e jumping on gens early and staying on them unless absolutely neccesary to leave. Many survivors dont play this way though. Some like to raid chests, some like to meme, some play cautiously, Blendettes like to hide in bushes and Bill players tend to wander around aimlessly. The game is in survivors control and the killer community is just lucky that not all realize this
My point to yours was bringing up a topic that was not related to the main OP, which happens all too often, you could've made one if you wanted to talk about these things in depth and get proper constructive arguments.
Looping/Efficiency/Tile knowledge is an actual skill from the survivor role, not a mindless one, it does take time to understand the different kind of mindgames both can pull during a chase and how to survive them, then comes the issue with pallet efficiency, this is not a 1v1 game, each pallet you use is gonna screw up someone else sooner or later since now they cannot use it to survive themselves.
Killers that are being talked about for the most part are the ones who either break the game's mechanics in some sort of way, makes your skill kinda pointless and you get robbed in the game, or simply, has way too much in their kit and can be easily abused for a very bad experience for the other side, this case being Freddy as it was mentioned. He's got all the tools to keep the game stalled for what seems to be like half an hour and there's nothing you can do about that, they tend to have the most abusive gen breaking builds and addons, that's how it goes, its not fair game for the other side if they cant even progress a little when -they try- to progress.
For the other part, yes, rushing gens is legitimately the only things survs can do to end the game fast, but not everyone wants to wait for a long queue and then have a game which lasts you like 3 minutes, some people just wanna have fun and that's it, its up to the devs to add some sort of stalling into the game itself so the matches last longer and you dont feel like you waited for a minimal entertainment.
And the only times the survivors are in total control of the game comes when you get the rare SWF navy squad with comms, which is not all that common.
And I doubt most survivors want the game to just be looping simulator against inefficient m1 killers, that's only a minority who likes to yell louder, it's not right to make it better for one side and a nightmare for the other, whether its killer or survivor.
Fair game before bs, that's all I want to say.

Lol no answer, so basically what you’re saying is “killers should take skill if they want to win but survivors shouldnt need skill for good results”
Its that usual survivor entitlement we see where killers need to “earn” everything they get but survivors should have it handed to them just for existing.
Freddy is massively overrated. Play it safe, run early, drop pallets early, as long as your team is on gens even the best freddy players will be wrecked.
I just gave you the same kind of answer you did, 0 constructive stuff, and then again, I've made real posts about freddy in the past threads about these, why bother do more? There's something pretty obvious about him already and its how stupidly good he is for no efforts.
Then again you calling on survivor entitlement after making a whine on looping which is, legitimately, the only way for survivors to survive or waste a killer's time during a chase, that does not sound entitled to you? They didn't decide the design on their role, take it up to the devs if it bothers you so much.
Freddy is not massively overrated, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing him as much as we do.
You did not provide a real reason to how freddy is skillful either like you said in your comment, which can only mean: you can't prove it, since it cannot be, it's how he was designed, he's got an overtuned kit.
Survivors just wont go running in a straight line just so you can kill them, live with it instead of provoking others.
-
Here's why:
That's it, that's the pinnacle of his skill ceiling and floor.
It takes you 1 minute to pick freddy and win nearly every match.
@[Deleted User] said:
if someone can explain how pressing space to vault/drop a pallet, running around in a large circle and then pressing space to vault/drop a pallet again is skillful then I'll explain how freddy is skillful.
You people keep throwing survivor gameplay into everything as an argument, can you stop being like that and bring something constructive instead? Just asking.

A positive effect where? I still get the shittiest FPS I've ever seen, if anything it just got worse.
