Spirit is the worst thing to happen in this game so far when it comes to power idea.
People still defending her as counterable but they cannot prove their point beyond "guessing".
-
Because teammates could be screwing around and it'd suck to get 1 hooked?
At least give the survivor a small chance to escape on their own, it does not affect the killer at all.
-
Posting a vid doesn't prove any point whatsoever, it should be acknowledged by now.
People should stop using other peeps's videos to justify posts, they won't change anything, bring your own arguments with a good structure,
-
Absolutely not, Spirit is one of the easiest killers in the game if you have decent headphones.
Consistently got 4Ks on her every time I played spirit, being a newbie on her.
-
Can't argue with you cause it's true.
I've been seeing a lot of people killer-sided in posts trying to defend the uncounterable killers, you know which ones they are of course.
It does get tiring since it's like talking to a wall, can't even look in their general direction without getting called entitled when you're not.
-
Right, you have a good day, mr.counterplay 🤷♀️

Nobody accused me of being in a KYF match prior to you. So no need to post a clip of a streamer I do not know.
The only point you've proven is that you do not believe what you do not understand.
You can say this was all luck, call him a bad player. What I will not have you do is accuse me of lying. I have no tolerance for that.
Just because people don't say it doesn't mean they don't think it, common sense, nobody has a clue if this is a KYF match or a legitimate QM, so you might aswell remove the doubt for further proof.

Yep! All a KYF match. Next time you make accusations of someone lying at least try have proof to back it up, so you don't end up looking like a fool.
Have a nice day.
Took you 5 pages of comments to put this as proof it's not a KYF stage?
Way to go to prove your point.

Most of the FREE games with battlepasses do it way better than DBD is ever doing it.
Free in-game premium currency in the free pass, overall you get more currency than you paid at the start, not the exact same amount.
More relevant stuff in the pass, not a lot of recoloring/charm fillers.
And more challenges and ways to make it less grindy and reach 70 in a more comfortable and less stressful manner.
Surprise surprise, not a single thing is achieved in this battlepass.

By you implying this is staged, is as if somehow I am faking that this happened? That's what I don't care about.
I answer because I get a notification every single time you reply. Doesn't mean I am here to convince you of anything you choose not to believe.
You keep saying 'owning' in a dead zone when he is clearly too far for an M1...so he goes for a shot. Makes sense. Like I don't know how many times I have to explain that. This was the first hit, and you can see how much distance I already have on him.
https://media1.giphy.com/media/YMeRGDuFXL7nLgk2eE/giphy.gif
I had Dead Hard, so it's not like he was going to get me anyway. I didn't want to use it right away. Because I was hoping there would be a pallet nearby, and there was. As shown here
https://media1.giphy.com/media/kz1DTAR2HsC89zR9ZI/giphy.gif
I've dodged many Deathslingers, the same way I did this player. Does that mean they are all bad? Idk, some of them have won some of my matches and I have won others. Call it luck. I call it paying attention.
No point in arguing something when a lot of people already did and you just deny it all, so whatever.
It is luck on your DS's skill, you have nothing to do against that, and your first gif ever doesnt show the same thing as you put in the response, I'm gonna still call it staged as there's no real proof this is not a KYF game.
Everyone has already pointed out the flaws in your arguments and your "proof" for counterplay, it is not a real counter, and it is not showing anything interesting that can change anybody's gameplay to an extent against DS, it's the same thing all over again.
So no, it's not about paying attention, it's luck, and that's all there is, deny it as you will, made my point.

Because you are responding in my thread.
Not to you until you decided to do it, then you actually do care about it.
My point is these gifs are way unbelievable and that's it, all feels staged, almost nobody has got those lightning speed reflexes or incredible luck to dodge at such close distance, adding to it the fact that deathslinger's projectile comes at crazy speed that it barely leaves half a second.
Let alone the first gif just feels like a really, really bad intended mistake on the DS's part for not owning you in that deadzone, only really bad players do that.
The timing at dodge seems so conveniently perfect it's just not legitimate to see, nobody believes this would work out for all too many reasons, it is what it is.

Pretty much, these gifs don't seem how a legitimate deathslinger would play, it's all too convenient.
-
Asking for survivor nerfs, like, really?
All that the survivor side needs is an extra objective to have more diverse things to do, not a nerf overall.
Since the crossplay kicked in I've had the easiest matches as killer ever, so I don't know but this sounds like you're just bad at the game.

sorry, can u re explain it
What I'm saying is the sweat squads is not as common as they're saying in the forums, not SWF itself, most of those are generally just screwing around and not taking the game as seriously as the others, yet you cannot touch SWF without hurting solo severely.
Yet I'm gonna also point out you're saying you see the BS in both sides when they're arguing, but you're also saying that killers are overall more correct, and that is kind of BS itself, you're taking sides.
Not every survivor "moans" about killers being "op", and overall looping is the only stalling mechanic they've got to sort of fight back the killer, it's in the game's design, not on the survivors themselves.
There's also the issue that most of the killers are irrelevant because others can do better, AKA Freddy, he's got all the powers you need in a single killer, so people get tired of seeing the exact same thing over and over again with the same builds, that's also on game design and it's up to the devs to change it at some point.
Survivors have got the "small pp build" because design allowed it to exist as such, and only the devs can change it aswell, if people want to use it there's nothing you can do about it either, taking sides does not change anything and making these kind of threads doesn't either.
The ones who control game design are the ones to eventually do something about it or not, whatever the others whine or argue about is pretty much meaningless.
-

you see i dont like any of the mentality's that survivors and killers have, its just survivors moan about said killers being op when there not and its the survivor who has to learn to verse the killer properly instead all of them want to be able to loop every killer the same boring

way which will end up in this game not being fun for any of the sides. you see overall i see the bs that is said by both sides its just other than obvious dumb comments and gen rushing, killers are true for the most part whereas yea survs moan about this stuff that doesnt need a change like at all
You completely missed the point of what I'm saying.

this discussion wasnt even on the perks, there broken. ask anyone other than yourself and they agree with me, ive put a lot of hours in to to understand that a good squad with them perks will annihilate most of the killers.
Yet I was only responding to one of your posts which involved that topic, the whole SWF sweat thing is not as common as they're saying in the forums and they're generally rare, let alone full squads of people using the exact same builds which mean nothing in the long run.
Just gonna ask you, can we stop with this mentality?

your obviously not that great of a killer if you think ds unbreakable can just be wasted easy at the start. that will lose you the game if you consistently eat the players ds or even slug him and allow unbreakable. and also dont even say its just a one time use like what. its only 4 players with 60 seconds of invulnerability if everyone has it. also using a single game for evidence is not making your point valid as i could say clowns not bad cause i 4k 5 gens on ormond against a crap squad, does that mean hes good. no
Except I really do still win against squads, and way more often than I should, you judging my skill proves there's not much of a point arguing on you, is there?
Most of the people who try to abuse those two play in such a bad and stupid way that they get downed easily and I can achieve that for the most part, not only a single game as an example, but most of them.
If you lose games its mostly on your side, not on the perks, I've been playing this for years already.

gen rushing, i agree is really stupid to listen to but perks. ds, inbreakble bt, i could go on. theres so many crutch perks were as killers got noed at its best i guess but even that can be countered
DS and unbreakable are one time use only, just down them early and make the survs waste it, it's not that big of a deal.
Had some people try to abuse the DS on me and I still left with a 4k, some killers just make a fuss over nothing.
Just to add this, noed is a waste of perk slot which could be something else entirely, there's no point in using it.

Huntress can injure/down you through a pallet.
Nurse can injure/down you through a pallet.
Pyramid Head can injure/down you through a pallet.
Deathslinger can only injure you through a pallet, unless he breaks it.
You will not find yourself in that specific scenario you describe 100% of the match. There are LoS blockers, Pallets, and ultimately a teammate can even take a hit for you. Like eventually he WILL get you, as every other killer does.
Huntress throws bus size hatchets yet no one is complaining about her.
What do you mean nobody complains about huntress?
She's been getting these hitbox topics for some time now, it''s a common issue amongst survivors.
-
Feels like this is rigged but whatever.
The problem with Deathslinger is the ones who can quickscope you without reaction time, then fake their shots so you try to juke nothing and zone you out to get an M1.
To add to that, he has a small terror radius which sounds when you're already in range to get screwed up by him.
He's not an unfun killer by all means, he sometimes just feels like you're done for, regardless of what your choice is in a chase.
-
We really have no proof about your playstyle other than your word, so...
I'm gonna say they are either way too sensitive or your playstyle is not really that exciting.
-
It's pretty broken indeed.
Damn OP survivors being exhausted in the ground, literally unplayable for killers.

I never suggested that killers are not op rn. Please quote me directly if you want me to eat my words.
Killers are promoted as jack, balance and statistics don't care about how you feel killers should be. Besides, killers will always crush in low skill levels so it's fine for high skill levels to have a balanced environment.
I mean not a threat as in when you face a certain killer you shouldn't lose all hope of escaping. I guess I should've clarified earlier but I didn't expect you to be so salty about an internet discussion.
My bias is towards killers, I know, but I'm certain that I kept it under wraps in this discussion.
Rather than salty I'm pointing out what sounds like bias to me as of how you wrote it, you can go on assuming but that's no good for you.
You cannot deny how fast games can go for no real reason other than survivors having a single objective and most killers not having any sort of pressure, that's not how it was ever meant to be, if survivors feel not a single inch of opposition to them, it's not fair game, it's a single head against four.
You cannot outplay every single one of them and if you're good you should have a fair chance against another good team, but that's rarely happening. That's what I've been saying the whole time.
That's how I'm gonna conclude it, you have it your way, made my points already.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1557035#Comment_1557035
Sorry I should've said biased instead of main but that's beside the point. You literally said that if killers aren't stronger than survivors then the game is broken and survivors are running rampant willy nilly. What's even the thought process? Are you assuming that everything's fine with 3k as the average but if survivors get one strong map or perk after that the game suddenly becomes 1k average? Please use logic if you want to consider this conversation as an "argument".
Do notice that I never said about deviating killers to the OP side, that's on your comments, not mine.
For a game that promotes killers as an unstoppable and dangerous force, it fails to deliver that, gens are easily done, good survivors can loop killers for way too long and certain maps have an insane amount of safe zones and non-mindgame pallets, let alone differente second chance builds that can completely ruin one's efforts within seconds.
What's your thought process on killers shouldn't be a threat to good survivors? What about killers that are really good? They're not a threat either when they're on the killing role?
Do notice your bias instead of pointing out a fake one in my comments, please.

Assymetrical doesn't mean not balanced, it means disproportionate team sizes. One team is given few but strong members, the other is given many weak members. What about this implies inherent imbalance?
You are one person against four or viceversa, you cannot have a truly balanced experience, I don't think you're seeing what I'm saying.
Truly equal balance would mean having all the options for both sides, and have the same amount of members, this is something you cannot achieve in an assymetrical game because it's not supposed to be like that.
This genre is one of the hardest simply because true balance does not exist and it's not meant to feel fair for the side with the most players, they're supposed to feel threatened simply by the other guy who's got everything else.
Regardless of what you change or do, the game remains the same, it should favor the person who's against the most, otherwise they would always lose with no chances to do anything about it.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1556966#Comment_1556966
That's not how it works...assymetricals don't all have secret rules that stop them from being balanced. The real problem is the community forming factions and neither ever feels satisfied, they will claim it isn't balanced when it actually is and when the devs try to cater to one side people on the other side and middle will be the ones calling imbalance. True balance can be achieved in asymmetricals, but it's unlikely that's how the community will recognize it.
Being asymmetrical already means not balanced, it's going more for one side (the killer) than the other, it's supposed to be that way, the rest of what you mention is more reliant on the people than on what the game is in reality.
Whether you choose sides or not, or follow whatever rules are made up, it's entirely up to you, objectivity is needed for these things and catering one side over the other is not an acceptable idea.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1556918#Comment_1556918
I doubt the devs are competent enough to implement a fun new objective. Whatever the case, more time on objectives means more viability for camping and if the objective doesn't get hate the increase in camping certainly will.
If that were the case then they could perfectly rework the hook timers among other things, there's no need to throw shade to the devs about it.
Regardless, this game will never fully achieve balanced since it's an assymetrical, so we can only hope for the best.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1556746#Comment_1556746
That's just a survivor nerf...how would that be received better?
You mean how wouldn't it be? Survivors are tired of the same objective over and over again, it's not a nerf at all, it's giving more diversity to survivor gameplay and ideally it means the killers will have a bit more time to breathe.
-
Tell us something we don't know yet.
Touch survivors while looking at SWF and you're gonna hurt the solo ones so bad they're gonna even quit and swat teams will become the most common.
Devs know that if they do such a move, they're gonna get a lot of hate, it's quite simply not worth it, all they have to do is make it so the survivors have more mandatory objectives and not everything is just M1 a gen.
-
@DragonMasterDarren said:
so could someone please tell me what's on the PTB? I don't want to be in the dark about something that seems to have stirred up quite a discussion
So basically we've got our first blonde survivor, which is kinda nice.
And then we've got the graphical/animations update for gens and opening chests (also some maps like yamaoka are reworked and looking better) Overall neat stuff over this side.
Now we get to the stirred side, the killer is neat in design and animations but he's basically a rushing killer with a huge bump hitbox that can bump up to 5 times in order to extend his rush and maintain a high speed, but is terribly clunky and headache inducing, also his dash can make a lunge but is a terribly short one, I mean really really short one, barely exists. And also he has a double CD after attacking during his power so, it takes like 6 seconds to come back to the chase.
His perks are nice, that's all there is to him.
-
Saw enough of him to notice how clunky he is, headache inducing and a rather mediocre power idea, it needs a lot of tweaks, his lunge during the dash is pretty bad, his hitbox during said power make him bump multiple times in the same place, you've got no clue how much of your rush token you've got left, etc etc.
Overall, terrible as in the PTB version, but hopefully he'll get enough love before live.
-
What?
Leatherface finally became a decent killer and people want him nerfed?
Sounds like you're either new to the game or just baiting.

There's no way to nerf or rework Spirit without defeating the purpose of her! Giving some kind of indicator will defeat the purpose of her.
Not only that Spirit flips the script on survivor s and makes them feel the same way other killers do. Other killers have to mindgame and hope that the survivor makes a mistake, Spirit takes that information away survivors and makes survivors hope that what they did was the right call.
@Enlyne I hate to say this, there is nothing skilled based involved with survivor when your feeding of information to counter something
Survivors have nothing to do as of how they're designed.
If a character lacks any sort of counterplay in any game, it loses any purpose of playing against such character, don't you think?
If a survivor relies on luck rather than proper skill/map knowledge and efficiency, I'd say spirit is a problem and her whole purpose has broken the core concept of the game, hence why she needs to be reworked.
What you're saying is pretty much the equivalent of running in a straight line against a chainsaw killer, counterplay exists for the sole purpose of not feeling unfair to any of both sides.
Edit: Typo.
-
No, just rework the spirit as her concept is stupid and unhealthy for the game.
She pretty much breaks any skill involved for the survivors with her gambling "mindgames".

If someone hops on a gen in front of you then they're asking to be targeted. A perk shouldnt make you invulnerable and allow you to complete a full gen.
Going to a gen in front of a killer is just a dumb move that can end in them being downed rather quick and then be like that for a while until DS deactivates, it just doesn't work as bold as they wanna be, DS doesn't make you invulnerable to being attacked, only picked up.
-
Okay.
-
Game breaking bugs, ebony mori/keys, huge amount of underwhelming perks for both sides.
Bad performing killers, only gens as a mandatory objective for survivors, lackluster free rift pass in a paid game.
Cheesy/abusive strats from both sides, FPS/optimization issues.
Broken perk combos and bad solo surv experience.
There you go, named everything.
-
If you didn't slug, you wouldn't have an issue with unbreakable.
That one's on you.
-
So what?
Why is this post needed, what is the point you're trying to prove?
Trashy people are in both sides tbh and more often than not SWF ends up in a 4k for the killer, sweat squads are somewhat rare in comparison to that and I've had no problems myself with them.
Close the chat and move on, no point in paying attention to it.

At first, there was no swf mode in the game. And there was no need for that.
The main reason the game is still here so far and not dead is thanks to SWF, that's something you cannot deny.
It was a need to gather people.
-
Without SWF, there's no game in the first place.
-
You can't argue with a wall, they will still resort to saying "Do bones" since they won't accept it either way.
Then complain more about surv perks, that's the cycle.
-
No they're really not, in my opinion.
They're based on different things, spawn, survivor spawns, map chosen and utility.
For the most part most hex totems don't do many game changing points that allow the killer to turn the match to their favor, difference being if you for instance get Devour to 5 tokens (somehow).
Survivors may just spawn right next to your totem or its surroundings making it so easy to be seen, if they're in a SWF comms, this becomes even impossible to avoid being cleansed.
Haunted grounds is a gamble, it can be broken at the best moment, or generally at the worst and now you're left without another perk.
You see, that's the issue with those perks, they rely on survivors either cleansing, or not cleansing them and in what moment it happens, they're bad builds overall because of that.
-
I would love more interior set maps, they are my favourite but as one mentioned before, they're hated and it kinda bums me there.
Still they're the coolest looking by a huge margin.
-
Beats me how people think Freddy is fine, he has so many powers it's ridiculously easy to win as him lmao.
Add in the ropes and slowdown perks and there you go, infinite match and absolute boredom.
-
It's how they decided the MMR to work with, we will have to get used to it whether we like it or not, it'll hopefully improve in the long term.
Also it'd be bad if you got a new killer you want to learn but you're matched with rank 1 sweats instead, that's not the way to go.
