So we should take kill stats at face value and reach the conclusion that the game is killer sided?
Not at all, just pointing it out that he is not super weak unlike other killers.

Otz does well against teams "with experience and coordination." He would do even better if he used more effective killers: he prefers the challenge of maining Trapper, who is low tier.
No he does not, beat him while one of us was disconnected and he had to play against only 3.
Btw it is funny that trapper is considered low tier, if you actually look up the old data sheets from 2018 i think, you see that there is hag+trapper having the highest killrates (across all matches, dont remember the third tbh).

Have you seen what they did to doctor? They will not bother to touch nurse again except for more nerfs.
I would like the killer to at least be able to use her power on the map.

Now killers will have to rely on their own skill to apply map pressure and stall out gens instead of depending on a perk that does their job for them with no required input from the killer, at the cost of a perk slot. And with this change, it's extremely likely that we'll get buffs to low teir m1 killers so that they'll be on the same level as high teir killers who have a lot of mobility. The best part about this is that in red/purple ranks, there will be a lot less bad killers who sweat for the 4k and a lot more killers that are genuinely good at the game, playing for fun.
My only critisisms about the hex: ruin changes is that it's a hex perk and can't be paird with gen-kicking related perks. The changes I would suggest is; it can be paird with gen-kicking related perks and once the hex totem is cleansed, the effect lingers for 90 seconds but regression is reduced to normal speed.
Poor bait i rate 2/10

Not saying that there's no gen speed problems at all, but...
If you used ruin every game you probably aren't amazing lets be honest.

There are numerous blink deadzones on Sanctum Of Wrath. I've been able to confirm that it is not possible to blink into or through the stone heads with a fully charged blink at base blink range. This renders the entire center of the map borderline unplayable. The shrines around the edges of the map are also deadzones. You can blink up onto them, but not through them. Lastly, if the L wall/T wall combo spawns with a large rock near the edge, the end of the tile also becomes a partial deadzone. Please have someone playtest the map as Nurse.
This explains it much better. Also I was talking about the new 3.5.0 PTB so i have still hope they might adress the issue.

80%+ of players using the perk, just as Self Care did. It needed to be nerfed, sorry to bring you back to reality.
LOL.
Reading is really hard for you isn't it?
Wanna try again or do you need me to explain this very slowly for you?
The upcoming mid-chapter update will also include a major overhaul to Hex: Ruin, and an associated update to the Gatekeeper Emblem. Recent data show that Hex: Ruin is used in over 80% of all games in the red ranks, and across the entire userbase it appears in about 45% of all games.
It is not 80+% of people using it, try again.
-
@FireHazard said:
I need a bit more explanation than that... what're they exactly supposed to fix?
Sanctum was basicly filled with dead zones for nurse. Blinking was made useless on this map since you would struggle to make a single blink and teleport 1m infront of you. There was a thread by @NMCKE and others who did explain it in detail. I tag him since he was able to provide specific places of the map being deadzones while for me basicly everything was a deadzone.
-
To some degree probably however those strategies / tactics would not have seen the light of day if not given the problem.
How often do you get camped by a billy? After they down someone in 99% they are off to the next one. Coincedence? I doubt it.

I honestly do yes as not one change has stopped it so far. Why would any others be different? this community has a bad habbit of playing just to annoy the other side. I dont see that ever changing.
Right now people tunnel, Camp and slug at 5 gens within all ranks. They have the pressure already yet but they do it. Some players will always just want to kill as fast as possible and pipping is not a requirement for them.
To change this you have to change a mindset not just a mechanic.
Because no change actually fixed core issues and were just bandaids? Like you know ruin for example.
-
@twistedmonkey said:

i never mentioned camping or tunneling but even so if it didnt work then it would never happen at red ranks but it does. The fact is all the strats including slugging have always been used. nothing has stopped players who wish to using them. So as I said history has shown there is not one indication that most ever will if something changed.
Never look at reviews without being objective as most you read will show people just unhappy at the game when changes like this happen. They make a review and never update it or change it and review bomb when needed. Its happened with both survivor and killer changes in the past and I dont see that ever changing.
Yeah i know you didn't mention it. But you stated something in response to somebody talking about it.
There is a reason for it and why people do it. Tunneling is simply the killer doing the objective due to the fact that killers are against a ticking clock and have to snowball. If BHVR would actually reduce stresslevels for killers and get rid of the pressure they would probably get the game into a far more healthy experience for everybody.
Do you honestly think killers (aside from outliers who enjoy to facecamp with bubba) would stick around hooked people and tunnel if they knew they do not have the feeling that it is necessary and also being the most efficient way to apply more pressure?
Also the hex ruin nerf does not really change much for the top tier killers, the weak killers on the roster are gonna suffer the most for it.

I'm not a pro killer and I do very well without ruin. Ruin actually makes the survivors look for totems, and then all your totems including your noed is now gone. Dont use ruin and get gud. I knew killers relied on ruin alot, but wow, I didnt know that's all they had going for them. Pathetic potato killers. Same ones that camp.
So you use noed and tell people not to rely on ruin.
Ok
You know there is a reason why ruin is used and noed isn't.

Players will alwqys do that regardless.
If the history of the game has taught us anything is that no matter what changes are made people will always use what they can if they wish too.
The diffrence being experienced survivors usually have the tools to deal with camping/tunneling. Newbies do not, they are the ones that BHVR cares about. Look it up, check steam reviews, check metacritic that is the reason why new players do not stick with the game (alongside bugs that take forever to be fixed, poor optimization and dlc/paywalls).
You know even when they do rank down all the way to rank 14. They are not excluded from being matched with red rank survivors teams due to the lack of killers (i assume it is due to a lack of killers). So what good does deranking do them? xD

I have those "benefits" analyzed in my post if you want to see them
I know i looked at it :)
You missed the biggest lie of them all. That they are concerned about new players because guess what when you do actually look up steam reviews or metacritic user reviews and why people do drop the game it is not because of op perks, it is because of bugs, camping/tunneling killers and poor optimization.
So the new players, you know, the ones that can not deal with camping/tunneling at all are the ones that will suffer the most from those changes and they BHVR completely ignore the reasons why people do not stay in their game.
-
Closer to 20 than 1 :)
But joke aside, the long waiting times for survivors are when you reach red ranks. Because as survivor it isn't that hard to pip when you get somewhat decent at the game. Don't take this as an insult but you will see what i mean sooner or later.
I currently wait up to 20min with a full 4man.

dont worry, the devs will hide the ranks so they can just skip the 5 minutes and instantly match you up with a rank 20 even if you are red ranks.
Actually i just read from @Peanits they are not doing it. So we can still feel proud to bully those rank 20 wraiths.

Naturally. But if that's the case, those who can't play at a high level will derank to a place where they're more comfortable. That is the point of a ranking system, after all.
Could you answer to what benefit?
Your broken matchmaking matched yellow ranked killers with r1 survivors during the bloodhunt, since you are so concerned about new players, do you need me to link you to the threads where people posted screenshots of that while expressing how frustrating that is?
-
@TheMidnightRidr said:
I’d say Bubba holds that place. He has nothing for chases or tracking or pressure. All he has is hook defense, but camping generally makes you lose. The only way to really be downed by his chainsaw is if you outposition yourself. At least Doc has some tracking, very slight slowdown, and potentially some slight anti looping. Emphasis on potentially.
Bubba needs to win one mindgame and instadown.

So apparently killers taking BNPs and toolboxes and trying to genrush in every game on PTB to try to skew the stats is a thing. I just saw some of them admitting that in the post-game chat. They try to prove that gens are done too fast without old ruin, though I rarely see BNPs in non-PTB games nowadays. That's really as cheap as it can get, congrats, killer-mains.
70% killrate is apparently not enough anymore, they'll do anything to get 4k in every game.
I hope DEVs will filter out those games from the PTB stats.
First of red ranks means they have red rank killers in it. You know the ones that matchmaking is lacking right now, that is why in bloodhunt i with a full squad of r1 survivors was matched against yellow rank killers. The stats are meaningless.

Ruin is the most used useless perk in the game it only affects 1 person. People who can't do skill checks. Sure ruin is a so called meta perk but it's only meta because no one can hit skill checks. If everyone could hit skill checks nobody would run it, unfortunately this doesn't fix the problem of the game today which isn't toolboxes, how fast a gen goes but the efficiency of a swf vs 4 solo players. Ruin in itself isn't meta the type of survivor you go against makes it meta as a survivor main who occasionally plays killer I do run ruin but it's so I don't get gen rushed in 1 minute against a game that's nothing but swf anymore who always have a plan going in
Dude seriously, you need to understand that ruin did stop extra progression from great skillchecks, you know? That is even when people do not miss skillchecks the generator lasts longer than them sitting on it and hitting great skillchecks with extra progression.
Do you know zubat? Literally has it on every killerbuild.

I dont use Ruin anyway, and Killers should not carry Ruin from brown to red Ranks, because then they would learn that it is not necessary.
I will test it out, not only on PTB, but also on live, because this is the only way to test things.
However, I think it should not be a Hex Perk anymore, because then it would also provide late game value.
This is probably the reason why people like Zubat use it on every killer build. But hey i am sure you are better than him.

Yeah like that means anything. Haven't you yet understood that red ranks do not mean skill? Can you honestly tell me that you haven't had games where you played against red ranks that were so awful that you thought they must be yellow/green ranks and were surprised they all were in red ranks?

Play Killer more and you'll have more opinions of balancing.
A 4 man OoO doesn't sound likely, the perk works for the Obsession and there only can be one obsession.
The best advice to take is the 50/50 veterans who don't have a bias.
What do you mean doesn't sound likely? It is literally just one of the things we do use on regular basis for multiple games.
What does this have to do with playing killer? Don't get me wrong I am red ranks there too but most of what I see is really really bad survivors which pretty much leads to me thinking, ranks on survivors have not much to do with skill as it is very easy to rank up. Balance conclusions can only be drawn from rare games vs good survivors who use everything the game provides them with. That is literally where you see how unbalanced the game is because it shouldn't be possible in the first place.
Furthermore they change ruin, due to it being too difficult for new players to hit skillchecks. Apply that logic to nurse and you can elaborate how these changes make sense from logical standpoint.

This change is just genius, ez pz matches for survivors. Honestly when you now die in a match as survivor you are just so bad at the game. I think devs will do some changes to that too, since noobs are bad at looping.

In case the killer pushes you off. If they show up at your generator and start chasing you, it's going to regress (and fast). The only way you can prevent that is by cleansing the totem, otherwise you're taking that risk for the whole game. Otherwise if they hook a survivor, you need to choose between getting the unhook and losing progress or finishing the generator.
@Almo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/968780#Comment_968780
It still makes gens start regressing without you having to kick them. Saves a lot of time.
Yeah this would be correct when the game is 1v1 however it is 4v1.
Chase me off of the gen and while you are in chase with me the gen doesn't regress at all because a friend of mine is working on that gen.
All you have to do as survivor is not 3 gen yourself, lol you guys are so genius.

I don't want to make any calls yet, but I am fairly certain Ruin is dead except for Endgame builds.
Corrupt and Pop are the next best thing. This is a bad change, because most Killers lack EARLY game pressure, not late game.
It is about to get significantly harder to play Killer, in my humble opinion.
Well yeah cause it isn't already hard enough. I don't know, what to say. Thanks i guess? Games will fly by just as they always do when killers do not use hex ruin.
I honestly do not quite understand the reasoning, like look the noob can not hit a skillcheck, oh that is totally unfair and we need to make it so he doesn't need to improve at all. Meanwhile you look at the nurse changes and think well yeah ok seems totally fair.
Seems to me devs do not understand why killer do equip ruin in the first place. I guess adressing the issue why people do equip it, would've been too hard so instead simply remove it from the game.
Oh and to the people that claim PGTW is better, you never played against good survivors. You can ofc state yeah ruin didn't stop them from doing the gen, that is correct. However it still slows down the gens whether they hit the skillcheck or not.

No, because I don't enjoy Nurse, I play mostly Huntress, she is total garbage IF you play her poorly, but Nurse has incredible potential still, the few good nurse players (emphasis on FEW, since most nurse players relied on crutches before the nerf) they can still stomp a well organized team since nurse's lethality is still unmatched, having the ability to essentially guarantee a hit every 6 seconds is immensely powerful
If she gets a hit every 6 seconds, the survivors are just bad.

This isn't about swf, this is about game health.
You say this like you face them every game, most of them are overconfident and always run second chance perks, they THINK they are good, take advantage of that.
This sounds more like "us vs. them" rather than game health.
You wanted to know where survivors are unbalanced and I kindly showed it to you. If you want further explanations to it, check how well the game is balanced around 4man swf where one brings OoO.
Sorry nurse was balanced based on edge cases, same percentage exists for swf but that is ignored because ??? yeah there is no logical reason as to why they ignore it.
I don't deny that many people indeed just want to fool around with friends or goof around, however the problem is that some people get their fun out of ruining the experience for others and this is kinda where the devs have to do something about it.
Oh and I don't play killer alot, i mostly run swf.

I bet I can run your Huntress for minimum 2 minutes. And I'm not that good as survivor, if I call a good one he runs you for 4 minutes.
I expect that that you're some low hours players that haven't played much Huntress. Probably not even killer.
Huntress needs a lot of practise to be functional against survivors that know what they are doing. Most Huntresses doesn't have that lvl. If you get stomped every time maybe it's because your own gamer flaws.
You shouldn't jump to conclusions based on assumptions, makes you look silly. On the contrary I don't get stomped by her yet the hitboxes still remain bs, too many hits that she gets which were a miss.
