Needs time to settle. People thought Legion was too much back when they got reworked, and overtime they've gone back to being underwhelming again.

Once people understand his healing teleport, he won't be able to use it. Once people are used to pallets he will stop getting free injures, although it's good zoning in dead zones. Once people are used to the -12% hinder they will be able to play loops accordingly. maybe pre-drop more.

Point is survivors still have a lot to learn before we should consider any changes.

Sure every Killer needs time to settle in, but Freddys dropped like an anvil, through the floor and made a hole in it.
According to our only other resource than BHVR his ability to 4K is close to 50% of all games and gets 0K about 10% of the games.

Completely overperforming, and you are saying he will settle down back to 60% and have this 4K rate fall down to 35%???
    How will that happen???

One, two, BHVR’s coming for you Freddy.

  • Its completely unclear to survivors that healing while sleeping is bad, they will literally stop you waking them up to heal you.
    Its horrible right now.

Unfortunately creating a whole new system is out of our control there, as we have to work within the forum software, I also think many people do not use the search feature correctly, as you can just limit that to bug reports so searching via that.

I understand the technological limitations, but I think you OUGHT to be in control of these variables, because your control of these variables could improve our current situation and that may have bigger impact further up the pipeline.

I'm in the minority cause im technically savy, most days after I got a soda, but most people are not in the mood to deal with the search settings, so I imagine most don't. Most of the time we need to report something, its actively happening in our play session time. So it has to be able to be done fast too.

I think within the means we have here the job is fairly well done, but I have also been here long enough to see how limited we are here and I think it might be worthwhile for the Community manager Team to spearhead some forum changes to make their job and user's experience, a whole lot lighter and easier.

Just thinking out loud here… If you can Sort by Hot, Top, New, I would think there could exist other ways to sort?

    image.png

Wait… this looks familiar.. BHVR have to be using Vanilla right?

idk if you guys have the addon 'tags' in your plan, but I think it might be a solution there, or it might be additional work. In order to control it, you probably need to start out small with which users can be a tagger. But idk if there is anything to lose if you make sure you can roll back the changes.

Gosh Darn it, you made me learn about Forum Software on a Saturday Night. JOY!

Ok let's put it this way: One is difficult because it's a hard task the other is difficult due to reasons outside the game making it hard and not the task itself.

The requirements is something outside our ability to influence. Unlike the others that are similar, this one is about a very specific thing that only comes from the one killer that someone else decided to play that day. There could theoretically be a whole week where no one plays vecna which is a whole week of being unable to even try it. The challenges should be hard, but not because of something you can't influence.

You might not care about the achievement list but others do and some like us want challenges but don't want it difficult due to fake difficulty. [PS: Artificial/Fake difficulty is defined as: difficult for a specific reason that we have no way to factor in.] (Thinking you missed that part or there's some miss communication there)

There is no misunderstanding, I know what you mean, I said though it does not make sense to me.

I have no issues with achievements that are harder to do, everything is relative and there are ways to do everything.
Start a campaign to get players to play more Vecna in your region for example, you have influence there.

What I don't see is why there cant be both really obtuse and exciting achievements, like Hand-Eye Coordination and also hard perks you can achieve easily, like idk unhook 10 people while broken. This game is for everybody surely there is enough room for everyone, but it seems not because you guy's goal is 100%ing achievements and therefore any actually hard achievements should be discouraged.

    There is no misunderstanding,
I just 100% disagree and I don't want BHVR to be discouraged from making such unique and cool achievements in the future.

  • Speaking of the bug reporting, Would it be possible to get a better system to search for already reported bugs?

Like its not possible to search specific Killers, Cosmetic, or Map issues. It seems its all dumped into one thread and the message above is:

    image.png

Okay, but I don't know what other players have called it, you are basically asking me to spend i dont know how long, reading threads or trying search words to see if anyone have said this before, Worst of all, the search function looks at ALL THREADS in ALL SUB FORUMS.

I don't think its good enough, and I think people's good faith to reporting an issue runs out real fast when the service provided for figuring it out is so not good enough.

  • There is nothing that appeals to me more right now than being able to select one two three or all 4 perks to be randomly selected.
I honestly LOVE Chaos Shuffle, and coming back to my boring old builds is same old same old, but the Perk menu is clunky to use with a website to random your builds, it takes to long to set your build up.

If BHVR put this in as a permanent feature of the game, I would use it all the times, expect for when doing adept.
What it does, is that it takes all the worry about builds and situations and just throws it out, I will deal with the hand dealt. Refreshing.

Suggestions to make such a feature even better:

    1. Partial or Full Randomization of Perks
    2. Partial or Full Randomization of Item/ and or Addons.
    3. Optional Randomization of Offering.
    4. Special option in Settings: to Hide perks ingame, and give you a reveal button at the end game screen to see your perks.
    5. Play a Random Survivor or Killer, Queue up and only see the Character when you load in.

Though I have great fears that BHVR has decided they rather want to keep this as an event, and not let us play it as a feature.

Please BHVR, I beg of you, there must be a way you could sneak this into the game, it wont take away my joy of Chaos Shuffle.

Just to put it into context, lets use the lich's play rate from nightlight which is currently 2.3%.

At the start of the match there is a 2.3% chance you will even get the chance to get this achievement by encountering vecna. Let's say you have a 35% chance to get one of his special items in a given match (number that I pulled out my ass but seems reasonable enough) since you are focusing on getting it and assume you have an average survival rate against the lich equal to the stats on nightlight giving you a 36.67% chance of survival.

There is a .295% chance you get this achievement from any given match given those parameters. Under those parameters there is only a roughly 25% chance to get the achievment in 100 matches played. 45% chance to get it in 200 matches. a 58% chance to get it in 300 matches, a 70% chance to get it in 400 matches.

6% of people attempting to get this achievement will play 1000 matches without getting it. At 15 minutes a match that is 250 hours to get this achievement.

If you are trying to get this achievement I recommend hook suicide every single match against killers other than the lich until you see a lich as it will drastically shorten your match times to act as a safe guard against that bad RNG.

Suggestions like these is why BHVR needs to prevent or punish hook suicides, that behaviour ruins the game for others.

Need is abit strong but what we know is we dislike "artificial" dificulty ie difficult for a specific reason that we have no way to factor in. If there was a challenge to [Complete a gen, open a box, rescue someone safely, heal someone who rescued you, deplete an item, break a totem, escape a chase, stun the killer, and escape that trial] we would be fine with that as those are all things we have a part in. We however can not chose the killer and unlike similar achievements such as interact with killer objects (theres multiple killers with these and its in general) or bless hexes (again general, any killer can run hexes) this achievement has to have 1 specific killer. We are effectively a honorary survivor main at this point as we've been hunting for vecna forever.

This does not make sense to me, because its all fake, video games are all artificial. The requirement is just a requirement, which is hard yes but that is what makes the achievement more of an achievement than over achievements. The baseline idea is to get people to keep playing, to give them more stuff to do, so idd say if it gets you to play even tho you complain about it, then that's good.

I also enjoy achievements, but im not about complaining anymore because I see it as a play motivator, and ill get to it eventually.
I have no need for a 100% complete achievement list and I want to see some cool rare achievements that matter to me.

While we get where your coming from, even we would like an alternative method to things we have no practical control over such as this. Unlike maps you can't choose who you face (with good reason) which makes this artificially harder than it should be.

I dont see why it needs to be this way, all these cool achievements that could be. I also dont see why achievements needs to be practical either, like is this an achievement or just a matter of time?

  • @Skillfulstone said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3877534#Comment_3877534

    That's not the point.

The point is that Survivors have absolutely no control over when they will even get a chance to get the achievement.

Achievements like "do X generator on X map and escape" can be (almost) guaranteed an attempt by using a map offering. Various actions can effectively be attempted in most matches (achievements requiring various healing or self-unhooking etc.). However Hand-Eye Coordination not only requires to end up against Vecna (which is already a pretty rare sight due to his low pickrate and the sheer amount of different Killers) but you need to survive and you need to get one of the two special items before one of your teammates and not get tunneled as a result (as Vecna will often prioritize a Survivor with the item since they can be killed quickly and they are likely injured).

Combine all those things together and you have an achievement that is egregiously hard to get, but not because of any skill involved, almost purely due to luck. This is simply a poorly designed achievement due to how much luck is involved. Most of the people who got the achievement (myself included) got it in the first couple days after Vecna release due to the short-lived very high pickrate post-release before he mostly vanished.

No (Survivor) achievement should ever be linked to a particular Killer, not with the sheer number of Killers, which is growing, in the game).

Totally disagree, I think there SHOULD be Achievements gained by doing things against a Killer even rare and improbably events.

The type of player who complains here are people who want to 100% the game for the satisfaction, but they neglect others who want there to be unique and special stuff to achieve. Achievements are not a list to be completed, its a story of the player's uniqueness. So spin that 180 degrees and ask BHVR to do more like this, because is funny, encourages play and its kind of fun to play Vecna and have people who get the Item actually play like they mean it.

I also played Vecna the entire December for people like the last thread who complained about this, you know what he said to me, after I played Vecna for a week for them, he said "Nah I stopped playing this bad game"

    Suggestions:

Achievement name: 'Well, Victor start coming
, And he don't stop coming.'
Playing against the Twins, Kick Victor 100 times.

    Achievement name: 'Evan's Worst Nightmare'
Playing against the Trapper, Disarm 100 Bear traps.

    Achievement Name: 'No Barbecue Today!'
Requirement: Escape a match against The Cannibal while at least three other Survivors have already left.

    Achievement Name: "Try Stalking Now!"
Requirement: Blind Michael Myers 50 times while he's stalking.

Achievement name: 'Its like a Maize!'
Escape the Coldwind Farm without being chased by the Killer or attracting any crows.

I think the game would be way more fun, if BHVR decided to do more achievements that could be difficult to do.

  • Nah, keep it. Surge is already too good.

  • Do you report them?

  • You can only be Quick mori'ed with the Item at 2 hook states.

  • If we try to be constructive,

Its clear that Wake Up needs to show aura of gate to other survivors AND the player on the gate, when the wake up player is near gate.

not just when they are the one opening it.

I disagree. I think an aspect of what makes Pinhead unique is his passive slowdown which just happens with no input required. It's nice.

If the killer is never using their main chain and only using the box as slowdown, then that's fine because they're probably gonna lose anyways. The box by itself is not a strong enough mechanic to win games against decent teams if you remove the other part of his power (the manual chain)

All the Pinheads I go against do never or rarely use their Main Chain, but they win anyway cause SoloQ people are not smart enough OR they DC instantly. I REALLY think BHVR should check how many main chains are actually used over MMR because relying on the passive is such BS and the Killer who kills without using 50% of their Powers is badly designed, not unique.

Whatever goal we each have is fine, its just not something we need the MMR to measure, MMR isn't there to figure out who is the best player, MMR is there to ensure relative matchmaking quality.

I clearly am misunderstanding your point, because MMRs goal is as you say here to ensure relative matchmaking quality...

In all of my posts in this thread I have made the point that the current system is too simple, since majority of players agree that getting a successful 4k is not necessarily a measure of skill, which Dowsey argued ad nauseum to great effect in his Kills = Skill video, and we all know there are plenty of mean and unfair strategies that don't particularly require much skill to succeed.

From Survivor side, looping the killer for 5 gens and being the one who gets sacrificed on hook while the other survivors leave is not a measure of skill either. This is one scenario, but there are numerous scenarios where skillful players die and non-skillful players escape, and I doubt you can find anyone who will disagree with that point.

Literally the entire point of my post is to appropriately measure skill, you need to have a system that takes game events into account, and the system that currently does this is the emblem system...

This is the point I'm making, that you need to account for actions in game more for a more genuine representation of skill. Is it perfect and flawless? No… likely no system is... but it does a better job of representing skill than the rudimentary kills/escapes current system we have does.

The fact it also relates player skill to satisfying the lore and bloodpoints reward systems of the game is a side benefit, since being encouraged to compete with players of similar skill in a manner that is line with the intended experience is surely the goal of an MMR system is it not? Especially when the alternative is MMR fights against the intended experience of the game.

If I'm not making sense, I'd like to please ask where my explanation is faltering or my suggestion is pushing a detrimental effect, because currently I'm not seeing the objection.

Well to sum up the problem, it is that you try to define the goal of this game, when the developers clearly leave that up to ourselves.
That also includes any system like MMR that works to ensure match quality or bloodpoints which works to reward us for play.
Just because a system is in the game does not make a goal, especially for systems that applies to more than yourself, which should be clear because we don't even see those numbers.

  • @UndeddJester said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3876822#Comment_3876822

Would you believe I actually agree with you?

I have argued before that MMR being hidden the way it is means climbing MMR is a pointless objective, because nothing in the game indicates this to you. We know about it because devs announced the SBMM and MMR system, but there isn't actually anything in the game that feeds this back to you. The goal of climbing MMR when you don't even see the result to my mind is completely ridiculous.

Everything in the actual game itself tries to encourage you to get as many hooks as possible, to get as many chases as possible, to use your power as much as possible, to stun the killer as much as possible, to complete gens and break totems, to unhook and heal… and yet people argued vehermently that getting 4 kills and climbing MMR is the aim of the game, because that is a goal they have defined…

The goal of DBD lore wise is to cause as much pain and fear as possible for the Entity to feed on… and survivor wise to save each other from that fate, but most importantly save yourself, and the old Grades system fed into this. The new SBMM has simplified this down to just kills/escapes, which isn't the same thing, and instead of striving to complete more complex objectives, the "skill" has been turned into a simply yes or no question.

So to my mind, combining the 2 together naturally encourages more skillful gameplay, since players who have defined climbing MMR as their goal, have a more complex set of conditions to satisfy realising that goal.

Everything in the actual game itself tries to encourage you to get as many hooks as possible, to get as many chases as possible, to use your power as much as possible, to stun the killer as much as possible, to complete gens and break totems, to unhook and heal…

The goal of DBD lore wise is to cause as much pain and fear as possible for the Entity to feed on… and survivor wise to save each other from that fate, but most importantly save yourself,

No, that is you again deciding that bloodpoints should be your goal. OR using the Lore of this game. But its just flavor, the entity does not actually exist. and nothing will happen if it starves or not. Its a fabrication and not relevant to the game really.

You tell me you agree, but you totally miss the point that this game was made to create an experience, not a goal. whatever goal we each have is fine, its just not something we need the MMR to measure, MMR isn't there to figure out who is the best player, MMR is there to ensure relative matchmaking quality.

  • For Killer it at least requires you to be competent to 4k, but it does encourage strategies that require you to kill at any cost,

This is completely incorrect, all the MMR system requires for a 4K is the Killer being somewhat better than the Survivors, which will send them up in mmr and send Survivors down in MMR. But the game isnt encouraging you to do anything, other than saying the Entity Hungers or Merciless Killer. Unless you get a dopamine rush out of text on a screen, I dont see how anyone could be motivated to by it. wow the entity is hungry? cry my a river entity.

since kills/escapes are the defining goals of the game, it still makes sense to have them as part of your MMR calculation…

This is also incorrect, it isnt the goal, you role is to kill or survive, but your success is not a goal, its what happens in a scenario some die and some escape. There is more to being a Killer or a Survivor than success, this always seemed clear to me as developers never claim you must succeed to win.

We get to make our own goals, and our goals dont apply to each other.

  • Carmilla from Castlevania Judgement as a Legendary Skin would be awesome.

Dracula's skin from Castlevania Judgement would also be an insta buy for me. I loved that game so much.

Oh and if both skins come with their ULT move as Moris, that would be even better.

  • I think it would be better if BHVR finally got around to making him less annoying; like I have had it with Pinheads who never use their main chain and just play M1 Killer with a global 5th perk for extra slowdown.

Obviously, his main chain attack should be easier to use. And hitting chains should progress towards the chain hunt, not automatically.

Only once these changes are applied, do I think we could consider what you are suggesting.

  • @Memesis said:

Because its 1v4? Why do people have such a hard time understanding this? If you can only have "fun" when you win, then you are functionally too immature to play this game.

I think its a like a glass half full situation, people see a 65% Killrate for the Power-role Killer and assume Survivors only win 40% of the time, but they forget or ignore the fact that they are 4 Survivor- role players, making it very likely someone will survive any game.

  • The reason the Killer killrate is the way it is, is because of the Survivors, there are four and for them to lose, 3 must die.
With a 60% to 65% kill rate Killers will at completely fair mmr, they will kill 2.4 to 2.6 survivor each match.

This means the game could go either way for either Killer or Survivor because its hanging on 2.5 roughly, which means the third Survivor is always contested or 50/50 for the Killer and the Survivors Sides. This is how you make a 1v4 game fair.

This is also why for Killers less than 2 is a loss, 2 Dead Survivors is a draw in MMR, they have to kill 3-4 to go up.
They have to be better than average of their MMR to progress. Survivor are different needing win via Exit Gate or die to lose to change their MMR, and Draw via Hatch.

  • not possible since you queue with your MMR score now.

  • I like the enthusiasm but we should start with
Survivors can now pick themselves up after 45 seconds has elapsed and they have reached 95% recovery

and have BHVR work it out from there. I think too complex demands usually never gets through.

I’m also a huge Star Wars fan from the clone wars and the original trilogy.

That Star Wars and other stuff isn’t exactly horror, is no longer an argument against it. Dbd already got so much stuff, that isn’t horror.

But I agree Vader would probably not fit into the game. You slice somebody with a lightsaber. Oh they are still alive. - Well this doesn’t matter for Disney anymore, so this isn’t exactly an argument against it (at least for them). And a looping Vader would be kinda weird.

You slice somebody with a lightsaber. Oh they are still alive. - Well this doesn’t matter for Disney anymore, so this isn’t exactly an argument against it (at least for them). And a looping Vader would be kinda weird.

I don't get the argument about the lightsaber, Hillbilly literally slashes you with a Chainsaw, but survivors walk in off soon after being unhooked. This speaks to me as very selective suspension of disbelief and it cant be okay for one party but not okay for another.

  • I love this idea, Darth Vader would absolutely fit. Not only is Vader the right hand guy of Sidious, who corrupted him fully, and made him of the dark side of the force, he is also the murderer of the jedi younglings. While Sidious is the worst of the two, Vader serves the role better as a Killer. Here is what I would LOVE to see for a Dark Side of the Force Chapter.

    1. I want him to be able to use the Force to pick up a dropped pallet and launch it at Survivors.
    2. I want a legendary skin of Vader as Anikin before the battle on the volcano planet.
    3. I want him to have a quote about hating Sand, when hes taken to a map with Sand on it.
    4. Vader is most known to use, telekinesis, force choke as well as using the force to sense and amplify his abilities.
    5. Obiwan as a Survivor, probably legendary skin.

Honestly sounds like a win win situation to me.

This is true. I think however it's in a state that's already kind of weak, so it turning into something more powerful than the majority of meta perks is highly unlikely.

You think it does not rival the current meta selection enough? Hmm well, according to nightlight you would be right, it sits at 3.26% far under what is commonly considered the meta. So you very likely HAVE a point, tho it might just be people dont like Rapid Brutality because it makes bloodlust go away, a comfort mechanic, even though when I get the perk myself its really nice.

That being said, totally not against the idea, it IS a very fair point and it IS BS that the first seconds is spent in attack cooldown.

  • idk if flavor is enough reason to cancel the reasons it got removed.

  • @PleaseRewind said:

It defeats the purpose of the modifier if they start excluding/guaranteeing perks.

After watching Survivors every day, commit self-sacrifice on hook because they got No Mither is enough to challenge that principle.

  • I think it looks fine, granted its not the best animation of a smile I have ever seen. but if they removed the smile it would be a significant downgrade. I think she is funny, a big trollish grin.

I think it would be even better if the smile was bigger and stronger, More teeth, big smile.

  • Good point, but this would make the perk 1/3 more powerful, the devs would have to look into the balance of it.
I think Rapid Brutality is already strong enough, even if its a glass half full/ half empty situation.

  • Chaos Shuffle works as intended, the devs did not promise any special event here, its a misunderstanding we have already seen here earlier last week. Not every modifier has to be like a new event.

On the point of perks that can harm your play, I agree with you on No Mither, but Object of Obsession is fine.
You can even time it, I agree its harder to use than other perks, but its nowhere as detrimental as Object of Obsession.

  • I'm not interested in original dbd mode.

  • It would be way harder to balance, there is no way to value a super perk to 4 specific. I see no reason to pursue this.

So you're saying 1 person is going to ruin it for everyone? That's not really how things work, of course there will be people that use MMR for arguments but that doesn't invalidate all the reasons to show it. People use the excuse of hidden MMR for arguments now, that's no different than what you're saying lol

Didnt say it was because of Choy or any singular person, I said people like him.

Why would hidden MMR be a point in an argument? I have never seen it.

It all depends on the kind of Gaming Experience that BHVR wants to create in this game, that will determine how much each of the arguments hold weight and or not. So they probably already have reasons to not add visible MMR because they could, but had no need.

Showing MMR has nothing to do with BHVR balancing the game, like you said they'll balance based on their own decisions and not the top players. So there's literally no reason not to show it, lower rated players can still express their opinions. But they shouldn't be arguing on why a certain killer is bad or good because they're just not good enough at the game.

I never said it did, I said BHVR does not only care about high mmr play. Which seems to be the purpose of MMR at least according to Choy in his video, he says that he wants people to show receipts of their MMR on their ideas for the game.

Even so even if you guys have no sinister purpose for MMR being added, the fact players such Choy admit they to use it police others in discussions of this videogame, is more than enough reason to not have it, like ever.

The actual problem with showing ranks in this game, is people would discover that a lot of the things people say aren’t actually true.

If the vast majority of the people claiming “killers don’t need to tunnel or slug” turn out to have a mediocre killer MMR, then their arguments fall apart.

You don't need visible MMR to do that, its the people who make the claim that needs to demonstrate their point.
Even so, that argument is already bad, because its up the the Killers digression to do anyway so who cares?
Honestly I would have thrown that claim out on the basis of being too simple, its almost just a generalization.

Seems this is also what Choy hopes, that a visible MMR will temper balance discussions and make certain people silent.

The problem with that is this game is for everyone and not just high MMR, meaning dont balance for high mmr only.
BHVR knows that, but wont say it to protect reputation, which is why they almost never seem to follow what the best players in the Community says. They have a larger and more inclusive approach to game design, for all of us, not just what the top is doing.

Besides that, the people who have to make the decision already know our MMRs, we don't need to know it, unless ofc we believe we know better than BHVR and its Game Designers, which I mean, possible but I dont see us hired yet or making our own company.

Every other PvP game I play has clearly visible ranks, and it's fine.

I also play other PVP games with hidden ranks, and those are fine too. So its all fine and we don't need change anything.

I guess I am looking at the bigger picture. What is currently happening between Choy and BHVR is a live communication event. BHVR has already set the rules ("No public MMR.") and Choy found a way to circumvent that. This is a reflection of the relationship between the player base and the developers. Choy found a metaphorical gun and pointed it at BHVR the first chance he got. No matter how BHVR responds to this situation, things have already escalated. Not to hostility per se, but I don't think happy people playing a happy game made by happy people would act like this. This is described in Choy's video where he acknowledges what he is doing isn't cool, but is justified because BHVR fired a whole bunch of people … and should have known they needed resources on standby for when the community wanted more control over the rulebook? To me, this is a power struggle. There is severe concern that the community is going to look for similar patterns to communicate with the developers moving forward. The reason I labeled this thread Armageddon is because this whole situation reflects a turning point in the community culture.

I don't remember a time in the past where the community intentionally gave developers … more work … to get something. Any resources spent working on frivolous privacy requests is less resources working on a full chapter, bug fixes, new cosmetics, etc.

I am not a lawyer, and I am not going to study and become one to fully understand the nuance behind global privacy laws. Deep in my gut, I know that most laws are written with built-in protections to avoid being exploited beyond the original intention. At the same time, there is an inherent right granted by the law — and two attempts per year for a massive audience is still a LOT of work that just magically appeared out of thin air because an upset player with an agenda isn't happy with the current state of the game. If there is an inherent time limit to GDPR requests, and if BHVR isn't able to keep up—I believe they would be fined accordingly. Part of me wonders if that was Choy's true intention — to clog the system with requests so the developers have to act or "pay" a cost.

Choy found a metaphorical gun and pointed it at BHVR the first chance he got.

    What even.

You are describing this as a colorful and action-packed altercation, and describe this as a power struggle and the whole situation reflects a turning point in the community culture. You must be a fan, that much is clear. However this remain to be seen, and I certainly doubt this will have the effect you say it will, I checked reddit and saw one post with 2likes.

I'm sure this will be popular in the Community circles were this mindset is already popular, but outside of that I doubt anyone will even care or attempt to do this. How many do you think have made the requests by now? Did you?

I don't foresee BHVR implementing these changes into the game because just a single part of the community wants it bad.

About the Personal Data requests, I mentioned the two requests because of what Choy claimed, I didn't know the rules at the time.
But researching rules it seems Company is able to deny or charge a fee for excessive requests, Under GDPR (Article 12), if a request is "manifestly unfounded or excessive," a company can either: Refuse to act on the request or Charge a fee for processing the request. https://gdpr-info.eu/art-12-gdpr/

  • All I know is that someone that works at BHVR is going to have a very, very, very, very, very, very long day at work for the next few weeks in response to the wave.

What makes you guys really think that data dump isn't just someone finding your data and exporting it? Like you think a thing you can only request two times a year. "HAHAHA we are owning BHVR." I understand the tongue in cheek glee you have about this.

Except BHVR is a based workplace, nobody is going to have longer work days than normal if they don't want to. Furthermore they can easily just delay it and be like, ahem "Due to a large influx of requests, your data may be delayed."

I honestly used to think this too but at this point it seems everyone is comp-brained that the people who were going to play like this already are.

Cherry-picking one’s own experience can be a common pitfall, and it's something worth considering,
so What makes you think everyone is "comp-brained"?

I just think it's weird to introduce a competitive matchmaking system and not tell people where they stand. Are they afraid people will call out how bad the system is when they see routinely see 10k hour streamers getting matched with low MMR survivors? Are they afraid people will use MMR to talk down to others? As if people aren't already doing that constantly. Everyone on this forum is super duper high MMR and only plays against comp players.

I just think it's weird to introduce a competitive matchmaking system and not tell people where they stand.

Please consider if the implementation of the matchmaking system was not to encourage competitive, but just to ensure a better match quality than the previous system. I honestly don't think BHVR made the changes specifically to make the game competitive.

Honestly it seems the moment you guys heard MMR you started chanting the Pokemon Anime song,
🎵 I wanna be the very best, Like no one ever was. dun-dun-dudum 🎵🎵

This seems to be the initial thought process both of Choy and many others I see who talk about this visible MMR.
Like cant you? Can you not see why a game could have a SBMM system, but not be intentionally a competitive game necessarily?
or was it confusing that BHVR hosted that tournament like one time?

I'm sure BHVR is happy we each enjoy the game in each of our ways, but to extrapolate from that and say, "this game is now competitive" and other stuff is a stretch in my opinion. Many games can have MMR and not be competitive.

  • I got my stats, but they were wrong it seems the data forms to store character data you guys use, are not so uniform as the programmers expected. Well I mean Im glad you guys finally did decide to share stats because now you HAVE to clean up those character data forms :P

  • I have been asking this of BHVR since before the first Chaos Shuffle.
Optional: "Hide my perks in-game" could be very fun.

Additionally random Perk option outside of the event, even better, a random option for items, addons and offerings too.

  • Nah I really don't care to get asked about my MMR OR websites making my stats public and accessible.

  • Reverse engineered data request 2 times a year. LOL

Why should BHVR show you the MMR when you can reverse engineer it in your data then?

    @kit_mason has the right idea

And as I said, we should not be giving the community ammo to pretend theyre more skilled than each other.

This is so true because if you listen to the video posted, the user is hoping this will change the way people have opinions of this game. He says people are not recognizing that this game is competitive, that people see this as a party game.

People will have to hand out their MMR receipt before pooping out their opinion…

However this is ignoring that our conception of this game is subjective and the fact that BHVR will take us seriously as players regardless of what MMR we have or what our conception of the game is. BHVR listens, bit rarely obeys.

He seems to be doing all of this, hoping that his side of argument can get an edge in discussion DBD Balance in the community by showing off his MMR, but any game designer would recognize that they are not making a game just for sweatlords, they make a game for everyone, from baby megs to Otzarvas on steroids.

I for one cant wait to hear the argument on reddit, "Uhm so what's your MMR?" 🤓 so I can laugh at and dismiss them from my consideration. Like who even cares? I know BHVR don't, so why should I?

You can already check it, but you have to go through a bunch of hassle to find out.

    How do you check it?

  • I think the main building needs some changes, so I hope the state of the map is due to BHVR just waiting to get around to it.

We know Swamp is first in line, as its the oldest.

  • Ask all your friends to record stats of their games, do the same yourself, then you can compared numbers to Otz.

  •  It was advertised as "D&D themed" but there's precisely 0 difference between its 1st and 3rd iterations. The skin collection is DnD themed, sure, but it has no ties to the game mode itself.

Sure, one could have been confused it with them having a Castlevania themed Lights Out event.
A note to take away from this is make sure language is clear regarding theme and not themed.

I thought there were something more in this event like in each match, this could be because charms, banners and icons no longer feels special more like, they are now fully adopted and expected each chapter.

So lets check if the language was bad or unclear:
    https://www.youtube.com/live/JuqghIvpa80?feature=shared&t=3114 First Mention
    https://www.youtube.com/live/JuqghIvpa80?feature=shared&t=3370 Second Mention

Bah its a tossup, The only place where it is said that the Chaos Shuffle is "dnd themed" is in the second section, in the upcoming collections. Rose DOES clearly say its a Skin collection, but she also says the Chaos Shuffle is DND themed, which does not seem to be the case. It clearly seems to be Chaos Shuffle with a Skin collection. The only way this makes sense is that BHVR has to cut some Chaos Shuffle Content, or that its just a simple mistake in light of the recent Castlevania themed Lights Out event.

I mean, I did not pay enough attention, but it seems weird that in the Upcoming Collection section we would get the Store Manager Rose to talk about something happening in game, in the trials being dnd themed. Nah, I made this mistake. They would need to bring out the handsome white guy with the glasses, I dont recall his name, the EVENT GUY.

EDIT: JUSTIN BANKS, is the EVENT GUY, or senior product manager.
