Not everyone wants to play stealth, for example I would rather never touch survivor again if I have to spend the game crouching around each time I get a heartbeat
I didn't say that I said be stealthy.
You can play the game fine and be stealthy.you just have to learn what to look and listen for

They will, but how many will be fixed?

I definitely see more Adams than Tapp and Quentin as well, but Nancy is more common than Adam I think. I want to blame the fact his default outfits are extremely visible, and people who don’t pay for cosmetics or grind the prestige outfits won’t want to be at an obvious disadvantage insofar as stealth.
I'm a stealth player and I play default Adam.
-
You don't get the bp bonus this way.just like tier 1 or 2 bbq.
But that's kind of the point. Swfs make bond 100% useless same with kindred.
So making bbq kind of pointless still isn't even the same as what swf does to others for those that use it that way.
I'm all for giving killers aura readings for swfs.
-
Can you blame them? 5 gens is a lot of work

I’ve seen way more Nancy players than Quentin or Tapp players, so she is out there.
That being said, Steve has more comical outfits and the most interesting scream in the game (good or bad is your choice there) while Nancy is a lot more of a serious character that fits in better with the cast so she doesn’t attract the memelords. That being said, I’ve seen a lot of red jacket Nancy players so there’s at least some appeal to her cosmetics as well.
I've never seen another adam player:(
I relate to him. Moving to a foreign country and all that jazz.

There is no possible buff that killers can receive to make up for the information that SWF receives for free.
There's a reason you never see devs address this directly with what they actually plan to do for killers in this regard.
Yes there is. Free bbq that affects only that group.
If you solo? No free bbq. If you are in a 4 man? Free bbq for all.
If it's 3&1 when you hook player a you see c&b but not d. If you hook d you don't see the swf.
2&2? The same. Hook a see b not c&d. Hook c see d not a&b.
Doesn't hurt solo and doesn't hurt those who aren't getting the info from a swf they're not in.

Irrelevant to the discussion I actually agree with that she is still the strongest. But this isn't about how strong a specific killer is. It's about the state of balance OVERALL I'm far less concerned about a killer that requires skill to play being insanely strong but if you're not very good you're literal bully fodder.
Vs a mechanic that literally negates a HUGE chunk of options for perks and strategy in the killer spectrum. And killer viability as well I should add
Then you shouldn't be in red ranks?
If you can't keep up with your ranks the issue isn't the game it's your skill. That's like when my friend got platinum in sfv and then kept getting beat.
Now I'm not going to lie and say all swfs play like mine or there aren't optimized ones but getting rid of it will hurt the game. A lot of people only want to play with friends. Especially when starting out. It sucks there are the people who ruin it for others.
My suggestion is to give killers free bbq tier 1 for that group. Like, if there's 2 swf groups of2 when you hook player a you see where b is at but not c&d. If you hook c you see d but not a&b. A full 4 man? See them all. 3&1 you never see the solo.
It gives the killer the same power a swf group has and doesn't hurt solo
-
I'd like to customize. Mine would be all green
They could even tie it to p3. So we have a reason other then a skin I'll never use

Is there any converter Japanese -> katakana?
Katakana is Japanese. In Japanese you have hiragana, for native words, and katakana for foreign words. They are the exact same pronunciation.
If you translate computer you get it in katakana because the word doesn't exist in hiragana.

Sure that Pinyin won't be used in road sign and paperwork as its purpose is to let you know how to pronounce things as you mentioned above. The equivalent would be phonetic alphabet, you won't be expecting phonetic alphabet to appear on road sign.
I disagree on Pinyin bring pointless as it can be used as an input method, just not popular in China and Hong Kong. But I agree on it is pointless if you as a foreigner that is learning to understand Chinese because it just won't.
Sorry forgot to tag you
-
It's important to learn if you're learning Chinese. It helps you read new characters, if someone knows the pinyin. There lies the issue.
The city I'm in has pinyin. However, people here still stop being able to read it.which is my point. Many people I know in China, from all over, don't know pinyin as by the time they graduated high school they learned most of the characters to read.
It's not the same as learning the phonetic alphabet. It's pretty mandatory for learning new words. Watching Chinese people try to teach each other words is funny. Where us foreigners use pinyin and then work on learning the character. Pinyin is like kana in Japanese for kanjis. Sure you don't need kana to learn the kanji but it makes it super easy.
Like I said, since moving here I've come across tons of Chinese people, from high school diplomas to PhDs, who forgot pinyin. Just because it isn't used once you're out of high school.
Are there some that know pinyin? Yes. However, that's very rare from what I've seen. I had to get apps to learn pinyin because of how little people here seem to know it.
-
They teach pinyin in school but no paper work or city signs use it outside of a few cities. Many of my Chinese coworkers have forgotten how to read pinyin. One was trying to teach me pinyin and a argument broke out because no one could agree if each was right. You basically learn it to pronounce stuff and read but after awhile people just seem to forget it outside of sounds.
In fact I had to fill out a government form and the Chinese natives didn't know this character and we had to go to a foreign teacher to read the pinyin for them once we found it
None of my hk friends can read pinyin. All of them call it nonsense/gibberish, but I've never been to hk. They can kind of speak Mandarin but can't read pinyin at all.

Where exactly you live in China? From what I gather, China been using Pinyin (and simplified Chinese) in their syllabus in school for a very long time now. If you encounter someone typing in Pinyin in the chat, you can almost be sure that they are Chinese from either China or Malaysia. This is the first time I heard that China don't use Pinyin.
Taiwan is the one that don't use Pinyin and instead they used zhuyin (and traditional Chinese), not sure about Hong Kong though.

You can be very good at stealth, and do objectives but still be detrimental to your team, why?
Because you won’t be found, therefore as killer I will keep finding the other survivors, instead of my usual try to 2 hook 4 people (which I somehow normally do without even trying, don’t question it), then kill, I’m gonna be killing the other 3 survivors much faster because they’re the only ones I can find, therefore survivors will get taken out faster as you’re not using one of your hook states to waste my time.
Its also extremely annoying when the person who hides all game, you finally find them and they can’t even last 10 seconds in chase
Then they should work on their stealth.
You can be stealthy and still play the game.
-
I live in China but don't speak it, yet.
There's a high chance the sk and jp players speak English. Every time I visit either country I never have had issues with English. It's included in every school curriculum since the 90s in both.
China not so much;which is why I'm here.
Also if you have win8 or above you can install any language keyboard for free with the Microsoft ime. This'll let you send the characters without them being boxes.
Also pinyin is pointless to use. Many Chinese don't know pinyin because it's not used much here, if at all in most cities.
I dunno about Korean latin equiv but I've never seen it in Korea.
Romaji is common.
Google translate provides the latin equiv

That's all I'm getting from this right now.
Making doctor less annoying to face as survivor and taking away his niche annoying things about him that regardless of strong or weak make him a decent killer.
Top with some small buffs to overlay those nerfs and make it seem like he's getting better but overall being a nerf to his power.
It's the same as the Legion changes this chapter.
Also similar to Pig when they increased her TR to 32m, monitor & abuse/whispers feel necessary if you want to even use her ambush. And for doctor whispers now seems necessary if you want to use his static blast and be guaranteed you will actually get someone
I think you are over reacting. His radius one is a full tier upgrade you can spam every minute if you think you hear someone or the crows fly away. The no stance and always full movement speed is a huge buff.
The add-ons being changed we can't comment on other then it'll let us make our own madness which sounds nice in theory.
-
@Peanits said:
I'd say try it first. You've only heard part of the changes, jumping to a conclusion now is silly.
For those who missed it:
- Treatment mode is gone. You no longer need to switch modes to shock survivors. (Shock and then hit people quicker.)
- The Static Field has been replaced with a Static Blast. This shocks your full terror radius and gives any survivor hit by it a full tier's worth of madness. Cooldown of 60 seconds.
- Various add-on improvements.
- Backwards skill checks in madness.
And there will be a PTB first, of course, which means it could change before going live.
Also he'll be getting his own unique chase music. That doesn't really affect balance, but it's cool and I figured I should mention it.
Can I suggest alternating between forwards and backwards skill checks?

I only dodge if I am in a bad mood and see every survivor wearing something multiple times.
As example 3-4x toolboxes, or 3-4x flashlights.
Then I ask myself "why should I do that to me?"
2x toolboxes are regularly already annoying, 2x flashlights can be, if they know how to use them...
If the devs think that such teams are ok, they should play against them by themself -> I don't have always the mood for it.
They did. At a live event even.

When I stream I ask the lobby. If they say they aren't fine with it I leave
I only dodge on bad ping or depending on surv chat

Not really. First DC is 1 minute, second is 5 minutes, third is 15 minutes, fourth is 1 hour, fifth is 6 hours.
I thought 25 mins was one?
But now I see why everyone is angry. You need to do levels. Like 1-3 is a minute,4-6, etc... Especially in a game with this big of connection issues

how would this help? people will still DC.
if survs aren’t in a game they like, they have complete right to leave, and that’s by suiciding. you slugging until they bleed out is called taking the game hostage.
so please respect that if a game isn’t desired, we have the right to leave it.
Then face the consequences. There's crap in this game I don't like but I don't give up and keep playing. Boohoo they have a certain addon or killer. Play and adapt. I hated going against nurse but I did it. I never gave up and tried my best. Maps I hate? Oh well. Dealt with them.
Also a dc at least takes away a gen for your team where insta death 100% hurts your team. If you dc eat the timer.

The killer could let you pick them up as a way to show he doesn't care to get them to play.

No it's not. Don't want a map? Bring a offering.
As for killer? It's literally the game. If you want to go against a specific killer then play kyf or f13. The point of dbd is to experience different killers and matches.
Learn how to play against them

Dc's are the worst, But honestly..I think feedback on WHY people dc should be happening as well..I know for MYSELF not saying for anyone else, But myself if I'm tunneled off the hook x-amount of games in a row then yeah I do start Dc'ing once I'm death hook.
But then again there were challenges in the Tomes for not being hooked while having spine chill so people were dc'ing once they got downed. There are many reasons, but there are also people who do it just because.
I think if we look at it, as a whole maybe then we might be able to change things and make them better. But thats imo.
Deal with it?
Like. It sucks but that's the game sometimes. No point in hurting your team mates or denying points.

I'll share an older video in feedback, but did you ever hear about F13's Salt Mines?
I thought it was a good solution when I first heard about it.
Players who DC accumulate a point. In this case Salt.
As players accumulate salt, the matchmaking system will begin to pair these players together to play with other players who have accumulated salt.
Hopefully "giving them a taste of their own medicine" to curb the DC problem.
This is easier than timeouts in that no one is banned and players can continue to play without "feeling" the effects of their DC actions, while still leaving players who play without DC'ing to enjoy full matches.
This system suffers the same problem of intentional hook suicide, but that could be taken care of by applying salt points to players who die on their first hook without struggling for most of the 2nd stage.
Thoughts?
Max Payne 3, tvc, and a few other fighting games all do this and I love it.
If you try to escape 3 times and don't struggle bad boy points. If you dc bad boy points.
You earn good boy points by playing x matches in a row where you didn't earn bad points.
-
"They're optional"
And? You know what's not optional? If other players are doing them or other players refuse to let you do them.
"Make a swf then"
Okay. You're now encouraging a swf scenario that will lead to people becoming the dreaded optimized swf or exclusively playing with that group.
"Play something else"
You know people will just leave right? People usually don't have the time for two live services games. So, if they find a new game they like they'll more than likely not come back. The amount of times I've swapped games is high. Hell dbd was me replacing bf1
Note this is semi different than "take a break play civ" because they were saying to take a break not to leave and they'd fix things by the time you come back. Here if they come back and the tome is just as bad if not worse then why would they come back? The reason why they left is still here and growing.
-
Certain bugs are easier to fix.
They could be trying to fix one and then when they finally fix it more stuff breaks. Programming is a lot like that.
I doubt they prioritize bugs like the med kits over sounds and features not working. Just those are way more complex.
With a tower defense game I made trying to fix a spawn glitch for the bad guys caused me to find a new one to stop towers from spawning and I fixed that much quicker than the bad guys not spawning. The tower took a hour and sub 10 lines of code. The spawn glitch took 5 lines of code and three days. As well as path finding readjustment and fixing a getter.

Opposed to now where they down us, hook someone else, and we sit on the ground for a minute with them stalking us.
I don't even have ds and it annoys me that I'm slugged just browsing Twitter on my phone because they think I have ds. I'd rather get hooked, struggle, and them leave so I can be saved or at least earn bp

At least have it so it turns off if someone is hooked and you're 32m away.
