What does Spine Chill actually do for you at this stage? Other than being a weirdly good stealth killer counter and an aid for hard of hearing users, it doesn't do much in most matches.

Agree with Kindred, but I'd stick Off the Record in there too. Otherwise you're pretty helpless against tunneling.

It gives me a head start on the killer so i can loop them as long as possible so my team can "hopefully" do gens instead of crouching full screen away doing nothing, THATS WHY!

My strengths are looping and wasting the killers time! Because im good at looping it means "im not" hopeless against tunneling. Tunneling " me" is one of the worst things a killer can do to me bc they'll most likely lose, i dont know about you.

    @EntitySpawn said:

Eh, I would say there are much better solo Q perks such as the following

Off the record - dont have to worry about a teammate unhooking you infront of the killer and them waiting out the base BT, also helps with tunneling if you can lead on a chase

Windows - this allows you to see where all pallets are so you dont run into dead zones, it also let's you see where people are getting chased within a certain range (if you see a pallet aura drop someone is being chased there)

Adrenaline - if you're hooked just before the endgame this will heal you so you arent an easy endgame tunnel and dont need to rely on your team body blocking for you

Kindred- just so your team can be more efficient including you. But honestly even with this multiple people may still come for the save lol

Exhaustion, just a great set of perks that you should use.

I'd also add inner healing, medkit etc. A way to heal as a solo Q is huge, plus if you mix a medkit with resilience you get a wonderful combo

    Off the Record is good!

Windows is a crutch perk for players that are not that familiar with or good at looping and or aware of the map or they're surroundings. Waste of a perk slot for me personally and i will never use Windows of Opportunity. I think it sucks and there are much better perks.

    Adrenaline yes agreed.

About windows: we can't rule out that your teammates just an idiot and drops a pallet because they want to

Windows isnt that good imo. Its for beginners bc good dbd players that know the loops dont need Windows at all. You can put something much better than Windows of Opportunity.

That sounds like a fun build on the game or something, kinda wanna try it.

Try it! I used to think it was only good on The Game as well but it can be used on almost any map! Been very successful with it so far and i recently won with Clown and Wesker with it.

With Wesker though i use Overcharge instead of Claurophobia! So yeah its great because people are mangled and Unnerving Presence makes them nervous and once they miss the skill check i know where they are! Kinda easy!

Those that don't want to or cant heal because im pressuring with a big terror radius will do gens injured which is optimal but they are also 1 shot!

Its fun too because survivors are on edge most of the match which is why i call it "Distressing Clown, Distressing Wesker etc.

  • Just ignore them! 98% of the time i just go to the opposite end of the map or go find stuff to break on the map!

Draw or lose (when i don't win of course) i don't give survivors the satisfaction of teabagging me at the exit gates and they will just teabag air! Especially if i killed two of they're teammates! I traumatized you enough and you will get no satisfaction from me! That's my perspective!

    People are obnoxious!

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3180005#Comment_3180005

I'd also like them to heal so I can capitalise on the extra time it gives me.

But I'd like it to take 2 people out of action and 16 seconds, not take 1 person 8 seconds.

Same! Sometimes i run Claurophobia/ Sloppy Butcher/ Unnerving Presence/Distressing on a killer so im not worried about medkits or healing in general at all.

sorry, but it is. if you're not winning how can you be at high mmr my man

This is not about "me" im talking about the topic at hand! I destroy survivors most pf the time but depends on my mood ie if im using a weaker or stronger killer and if im using meta perks or not on that killer. Yea i can and very much do win when i want to but im not using myself as an example for this very reason!

If killers use non meta perks against me im most likely gonna escape in solo que. They have to be sweaty so like i said...killer is not easy at all the op probably is playing a low mmr killer of his, is at a low mmr or the reality that survivors are mostly bad at dbd!

Your not consistently beating survivors unless you have Nurse or Blight and unless you have some niche build with a killer that is seemingly impossible to win against from the solo que perspective!

  • Killer is not "too easy" at all! Dead Hard or not you act like killers still dont have obvious disadvantages like being on certain maps!

Title is misleading still killer isn't easy to win with at a high mmr!

  • Mori cancels! They've been taken out and thankfully because that was super toxic!

  • There's nothing wrong with Myers besides the stalk bug where after you stalk it decreases a little otherwise he's fine!

Myers has some of the best/strongest add-ons in the game!

  • Pre nerfed Iron Will was really busted especially against Spirit who relies on sound to get fast downs.

They need to bring this back no idea why they nerfed it. Thrill is useless now.

As for the thread at hand, old undying used to give hex perks 5 health states and showed the aura of any survivor near a hex totem not just dulls. It was so busted with ruin and devour hope, but it did force survivors off gens just to do bones. So chaotic! A part of me wants them to bring back the aura reading on hex totems.

Well it got nerfed because boons got introduced and boons with old Thrill was too conflicting! I admit i still tried to find "some" value in Thrill of The Hunt but its failed me more than anything.

Sometimes i would have all Hex builds only for survivors to destroy or bless all the totems except Thrill which of course sucked!

  • Old Thrill of The Hunt:

Stacked with other totems and you gained a notification when a survivor was working on any totem. (Way pre boons)

  • @Aneurysm said:

auras showing in lockers, snapping out of madness showing up on nurses calling, that godawful window on ironworks of misery (although garden of joy has several of those lmao)

Lmao i forgot about that! I remember when they added the blindness status effect to survivors that are in the lockers, lol. I also remember old snap out of it didn't store so if you caused a inaction you had to re snap out of it all over again! Damn DBD was super broken!

    @Pukenplag said:

NOED was a 2 minute timer perk that had no totem.

    Tinkerer buffed addons.

DS was always active and could be used the first time you got downed.

    Damaging gens wasn't a thing.

Closing hatch wasn't possible as there was no EGC.

    Moris worked on first down.

Hooks wouldn't respawn after being sabotaged.

Sprint burst recharged as fast while running, so you could use it mid chase.

    So broken lmao!

    @sizzlingmario4 said:

    BNP insta-gens

Oh man old Brand New Part....smh

  • - Old Sabo

Old Saboteur was extremely broken! You could 99% hooks with or without a toolbox and this was before Toolboxes and Medkits received a rework lol

    - Pig buff

    * She need old Crate of Gears and Jigsaw Sketch to be competitive as Old Jigsaw Sketch added one additional box to the trial making it 5 instead of 4 boxes, now 5 boxes are basekit and Pig is way better than she was after her initial nerf

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Rat Tail received 1 nerf and 1 buff.

It used to increase the Portal opening speed by 50% (from 1 second to 0.5 seconds), but then got nerfed to 25%, and then buffed to 35%.

The most unnecessary nerf Demogorgon has ever received

    Lol wow!!

  • Umm end game used to be 3x's worse bc if survivors did a certain amount of gens ie 4 survivors completed 3 or 4 gens the hatch would automatically spawn.

This was terrible because if you had really strong pressure and or the survivors 3 gen'd themselves then they could all just escape through the hatch when it spawned with a key!

"This" was the absolute worst and it got changed for the better! I think most people that complain about current dbd didnt play the game from 2018-2021! The game is the best ie the most balanced its ever been minus Nurse!

  • @jajay119 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/342891/why-was-corrupt-nerfed-like-that

Personally I would have rather seen a nerf of regression perk stacking than this. I've played against killers who have had a combined total of about 375% regression. One was a nurse who literally made it impossible to do two gens on the opposite side of the Chapel map. I understand killers need pressure but that's too much. We are getting gens regressing from 60% to legit next to nothing far too quickly. Corrupt was fine.

    Starstruck Nurse is terrifying lol.

If Ruin is bad than Ruin/undying is really bad because your using a 2nd perk slot to protect a bad perk that goes away anyways when you get your first kill.

I don't care, at least its staying up longer which is the point! I've won many games with the new nerfed Undying/Ruin because my other two perks are gen defense perks most of the time and thus i get good overall value ever game so no Undying/Ruin "isn't" bad!

  • @kingcarl2012 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3151257#Comment_3151257

You do know that ruin got nerfed 100,000% harder than corrupt right

I don't care about Ruin getting nerfed that was to be expected im talking about an overall nerf to that near complete build i mentioned. I don't consider Ruin alone at all and would never use Ruin alone so yes Undying/Ruin got nerfed but its in no way bad. Is Ruin bad yes but Undying/Ruin isn't.

This is the current: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Reassurance (I don't mean to be rude, but seeing what it currently does is a search away). Now, as for the what changed about it, it used to have a 40? second cooldown instead of being once per each hook in the PTB. So, a 2-3 man SWF could theoretically just keep trading perk activations on that hooked solo survivor to keep them hostage indefinitely, even if the killer isn't actually camping just so they can grief the solo survivor.

Did people actually do this? I have no idea, but I have no doubt that it would happen on live occasionally since there are some people playing the game that definitely would do it and it would probably have to be addressed in the future anyways once that makes the rounds on reddit/forums/twitter.

Yeah but i still needed to know what it did initially and thanks!

  • @Crowman said:

It got nerfed so it's less useful as a generic perk on every killer. It was part of an update to try and promote perk diversity.

Killers like Nurse and Blight don't get as much use out of it where as killers like Hag, Trapper, Myers who aren't likely getting an early down as they set up still get full value.

Perk diversity? Ok im down with that and i understand. I take my baby survivor comment back then.

    @Dead_Harder said:

Because once you get a down you already have some good pressure.

    @The_C12H15NO2 said:

My guess is b/c old corrupt was being used in the majority of games. The devs have said in the past when they nerf a perk it's partially b/c it's used too often.

Indeed it was being used as a meta staple perk in high level! Load into a game and in my head the majority of the time i would go

    Corrupt!!!!!!!!! lol

    @Phasmamain said:

It didn’t get nerfed on the killers it was needed for and still gives more safety on your first down. Basically a perfect change imo

No it got nerfed period and severely might i add but i know why now so its okay!

    @NomiNomad said:

Because it was meta. literally the only reason. BHVR wanted to shake up the meta.

Thing is, it's basically the same perk on set-up/basic M1 killers. It's only really weaker on killer's who can secure a down quickly, like Blight and Nurse.

You cant compare old Corrupt to new, theres no comparison! It got nerf hammered end of story!

    @[Deleted User] said:

High MMR nerf. Old Corrupt put survivors in a lose-lose scenario. First chase could go to un-corrupted gens, in which case gens couldn't progress. Or the first chase could go to corrupted gens, in which case they could get hooked and camped within a corrupted 3 gen.

I used to run Corrupt/Undying/Ruin which now is now significantly weaker but not totally unusable so i'll keep using it unless i start losing then im either gonna take out Corrupt or take out Undying/Ruin for Scourge Hooks/Pop!

  • Not one person can or has told me, after i asked what Resassurance does and what was nerfed about it smh.

A whole two pages and i have no idea what people are talking about...oh well.

  • What did Reassurance do originally and how was it nerfed?

  • zarr your contradicting yourself because DS is an insurance perk that you "may" not get value out of but is still good to have because you just never know.

I've had some games where i didnt have ds but the killer doesnt know and didnt respect DS at all but could have lost for it so its just one of those things.

You cant tell me you didnt at one point you didnt run Balanced Landing only to go to the back then super strong Dead Hard bc there were very little to no Balanced Landing areas on a map well this is the same thing.

Got Left Behind with a key ok your intentions are known, this player or i want to escape more than anything for whatever reason but it doesn't make it "useless" or means the player is selfish, it means they are tired of dying bc of teams or having bad teams in general.

  • @VikingDragonXii said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3145678#Comment_3145678

It's not a single escape is a loss for Survivors and a drop in MMR.

Escaping from the Hatch is not considered a Win or Loss but a draw and dosnt not affect MMR.

Escaping is escaping period its a win for that specific survivor! If the killer 3k's its an overall loss for survivor as a team.

If 2 get killed and 2 escape its a draw on both sides, the killer went even or drew even with survivor, 3 or 4 escapes is an obvious loss for killer!

  • @Rudjohns said:

Okay, I will still be using these builds

BT, WGLF, No One Left Behind, We will make it

    or

WGLF, For The People, Empathy and Vigil

I used to care and for a good while i ran and rarely now run

    Sabo/Breakout/DH, SC or Resilience/Empathy w Alex's Toolbox and the good add-ons.

Ok i save my teammates with Sabo but they do no gens and all is for naught...

I can exhaust all my resources saving people and still die bc the teams are overall bad so while i commend your level of altruism and camaraderie the truth is support builds only work half of the time.

The skill level of the killer, maps and skill level of teammmates still need to be factored in so these type of builds are still no better than so called selfish ones.

  • @BenSanderson55 said:

You can have any build and be a selfish teammate. You can run an end game build still do gens, unhook, heal, etc this build doesnt take those away lol. Anyway when I used to do this until i got bored I ran:

Wake up, Sole Survivor, Adrenaline, Left behind

Best post in this thread by far! This is what im saying as well.

I have a survivor that runs Sole Survivor/Spine Chill/Wake Up/Lithe w a medkit and good add-ons. Its a versatile build and i unhook do gens etc but its also an assurance build so its good for most situations!

Person suicides on hook? Ok i have a stack of Sole Survivor

Teammates going down fast or playing bad when im not?

Easy i can rely at least on endgame to escape or my remaining teammates can pick up!

I run Left Behind sometimes because people are mostly bad at the game and im always expecting the worst but only with a pink or purple key because running this perk without it doesnt guaruntee the escape as opposed to having it.

  • @Cybil said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3145678#Comment_3145678

IMO if that survivor can open the gates then they definitely won. Maybe not so much from a team aspect though.

A win is a win and escaping whether alone or as team is a win period!

  • @DoritoHead said:

Ain’t no way you’re using self care and calling CoH a massive waste of time

Haha i would never run self care, it takes way too long and i'd just rather bring a good medkit or have Spine Chill or Aftercare.

COH however has saved me a number of games so its 100% not a waste setting it up.

  • Left Behind doesnt guarantee an escape unless you have a key because the killer can still get to and or find the hatch before you do!

My main solo que build is

    Sole Survivor/Spine Chill/Lithe/Wake Up

With good medkit and add-ons. Build is good for most situations.

  • In this order! Nurse, Blight, Huntress, Nemesis.

  • The fact that Nurse (which i just got through going against btw) is the killer that is encountered the most by survivor is proof that people naturally pick/play the best stuff in games!

  • This thread has me lol'ing so much!

    Blight!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

I hate Blight and i hate that i go against him so often but it is what it is!

Also i have to replace Ghostface (which i do go against often with Nemesis bc i go against Nemesis a lottle more) Every time i boot up DBD im pretty much guaranteed to go against Huntress if im running back to back survivor games.

Going against Huntress with a bad team = (

  • @Sadako_Best_Girl said:

The first totem that's destroyed automatically should transfer its token to Hex: Undying! Undying perk icon should never be lit while the Ruin one is disabled, its a bug, a very bad bug too because i need my Ruin to stay up as long as possible.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/340722/why-was-thanatophobia-nerfed

Not just nerfed, absolutely obliterated and demolished into the ground

Demolished, obliterated, butchered yea all the same thing!

  • Well after this game i just had i pretty much dropped Plague and Legion as well bc im not using these weaker mid tier killers without Thanatophobia the way its supposed to be...

Oh well, i've been playing more Pig as she is a much stronger killer in the current iteration of the game.

I cant believe how much they butchered this perk! Totally unusable and not worth a perk slot not even on the two killers mentioned above! For me anyway, way too much work to use non Thana Plague, done!

  • @Cameragosha said:

Now thanatophobia useless , hoping it will get buff in a future.

I have absolutely no reason at all to use new Thanatophobia over Corrupt or Sloppy Butcher! I hope so too but doubt it.

    @Kaitsja said:

Because Plague and Legion could consistently keep all four survivors injured. There was really no need to buff Thana in the first place because they increased gen times to 90 seconds from 80 seconds.

All they had to do was revert Thana.

Thats not a good enough reason plus it depends on the situation.

    @Deathstroke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3127932#Comment_3127932

What so thana was fine and didn't need nerf? I think they should make it back like it was before update now it's too bad and only viable on plague. It can be usable just barely on legion if you bring right add ons. But for everyone else it's useless. They should rather change it first injury -6% slower repairing. Second injury -5% slower and third injury -4% and everyone being injured -3% so then it would be worth on other killers not just on plague.

Yeah i like your suggestion for Thanatophobia! I couldn't believe it got nerfed and my gen defense builds or Thrill builds are completely useless now. Im not using Dying Light outside of Plague bc its too risky to use.

Exception is if they're suiciding because they're being camped; I'll stick to gens in that case. While I don't necessarily condone it I do understand where they're coming from.

Yeah i definitely had those! I used to go unhook suicidals as they are on their death hook from the suicide and "sure enough" the Killer goes right to me!

After experiencing this a few times i totally gave up on rescuing suicides, i have a much better chance surviving by not wasting my time on that and staying or rushing the gens.

Eh, honestly I'd say out of all the iri's, doc's are the most balanced imho

Dont get me wrong some iris are definitely not so strong and some i even consider sub par but i feel like Doctors iri's especially combined is broken bc you get everything from his purple and some green addons put into one.

Its the same as Plague with the iri that shows you they're aura for 5 seconds when they puke, thats just way to op for me and if i win like "that" then i feel like i really didnt beat survivor. Most survivors are solo so thats even more of a reason for me not to use it but again to each his own!

  • @ZVom said:

distressing - increases terror radius, crucial for this build

Caulrophobia - makes healing hard, synergy with distressing

unnerving presence - makes skillchecks hard, synergy with distressing

Last perk is one of these two:

Hex: Lullaby - makes skillchecks hard, synergy with unnerving presence and caulrophobia. Risky choice - gets found relatively quickly

Overcharge - makes kicking gens meaningful, synergy with unnerving presence.

Add ons - 2 "Calm" editions to increase terror radius even more, synergy with caulrophobia, unnerving presence and overcharge

Strategy is not to spam static blast whenever possible. Use it only if you cannot find someone for an extended period of time, and don't raise survivors madness level above 2.

Nice! I like this with the exception of Huntress Lulluby. I feel like you can commit more ie get more value with Nurses as opposed to Huntress Lulluby. They mess up the healing skill check then you know where they are and Nurses will always be great information for this type of build.

I'll even say you should try Undying/Huntress Lulluby so your curse will stay up longer!
