  • Let's all take a step back and a deep breath, and keep the discussion civil, please. This is a public Forum, and everyone is absolutely welcome to share their thoughts and opinions, all that is asked in is to keep within the Rules when doing so.

Also, things such as tunneling, slugging, and camping are not reportable, as noted here in the Game Rules., and the block feature does not prevent being matched with players, it is for blocking friend requests from that person in-game.

  • Well there's your problem, y'all got a hatchet lodged in the generator! That ain't gon' fix it! 😅 I swear I've seen that same thing happen with a bear trap eons ago.

I actually had this happen randomly when backing out of a lobby a while back.... the potential reality show-level drama that may be going on here that caused Jane to be ostracized from the camp still has me wondering:

  • Please post this in the Dead by Daylight Bug Reports subsection: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/categories/bugs Thank you.

  • Politics is not something we wish to have discussed on these forums; especially as the responses here got out of hand almost immediately, and showed why this rule is in place.

For the OP, I have moved this to the correct category for Feedback, and reminder to everyone that this Forum is for everyone, from everywhere. So long as the Forum Rules are followed, those that wish to discuss the game may absolutely do so here. Thank you.

  • Stepping in for a second to remind everyone to keep the discussion civil and respectful, please. It's ok to constructively disagree with others and their suggestions or opinions, but please remember there is no reason to bite at one another when doing so. Thank you.

  • Alright, since those in this thread are veering off topic, has had things answered by the Community Manager & those in the community, and comments becoming disrespectful to others, I am closing it here. Please remember there is never a reason to attack or insult others; here, or anywhere.

As previously stated here, the EULA (End User License Agreement) states that this is a live game, and changes to the game could be made at any time. It is something that is accepted by any player that chooses to agree to the EULA and play the game. Anything purchased in game is not refundable, and any requests for refunds would have to be taken up with the platform it was purchased on (Steam, Playstation, XBox, etc).

  • Let's all remember to keep comments civil and respectful, please. Everyone is welcome to post sincere and honest Feedback or Suggestions to the game here on the Forum (and as you can see, another Moderator viewed this thread earlier, and moved it to the proper spot on the Forum for it).

Disagreeing with a person, no matter how much you may do so, constitutes breaking this rule, and discussions can be done in a civil and constructive manner. Thank you.

  • Actually shalo... I might give that build a try with a few Killers, I didn't think of throwing in Spirit Fury, but it makes sense now that I see it.

I have to agree about giving it a go on other Killers that are a bit quicker, but at the same... I get its use 100% on Deathslinger! Its definitely one of those things where it may not pay off every match... or two... or five... but when it does... *chef's kiss* kinda like me throwing down random bear traps that actually catch survivors once in a while, or that match you get all 5 Devour Hope stacks; its such a great feeling!

I saw that, but oh boy I better suggest it anyway. Make sure bHVR gets the feedback, we cant have them not do it like that.

Nothing wrong with suggesting it here on the Forums, either <3 I'm definitely one of those players that switches between the lowest BP spending route and prioritizing Perks/an add-on or two (then back to trying to spend the least BP), so understandable that would be a question/concern for others that wanna do more than just Bloodweb zoomies. I know Peanits and the Team will keep us posted when it gets near time to share more!

I do not but I do something weirder...

    I count

I have no idea why. It gives me no advantage or useful information. I'm not counting the heartbeats or something to know when the killer is about to hit me. There's no reason for me to count.

But it's been a weird habit of mine and not one I expect to break. Mainly I suppose because I'm not really trying to break it cause it seems harmless to me.

I... actually count sometimes too because...brain things, I guess. I want to say it is a kind of "grounding" technique for me, but I'm not sure if that's the right word for it or not, but its something I have caught myself doing outside of video games as well.

That's not crazy at all, Bot_salvo <3 I don't hum per se, but I may get sing-songy with some of the Killer chase music, its just hard not to. And sometimes just being weird/silly with survivor too when working on gens, or cleansing/blessing totems, I'll make up something and sing/hum/vibe with it lol.

  • This thread has gotten a bit out of hand, so I'll go ahead and lock it here.

In regards to holding the game hostage, one side or the other refusing to progress the game (i.e. Survivors hiding and not working on getting the generators done to open the gates, etc) for a long or indefinite period of time would fall under this.

As for Bugs and Exploits, Mandy put it perfectly: the Killswitch exists so if something is an issue, it can be taken out of rotation until resolved, and these are communicated through socials so everyone is aware. Anything outside of this realm is posted in The Game Rules for viewing if they are come across, and how to properly report them (or any rule-breaking behavior) to the ACMs for review.

  • I have to say I'm usually not a fan of floral print stuff (especially IRL), but it looks so strikingly gorgeous on her, along with those deep wisterias and violets in the color palette <3 And the purple hair too! I redeemed it so quick lol

little status update: since quitting uni I have applied for an entry test for a dutch-english translation vocational training. The lady that went over it said I was "well-above the minimum entry requirement" so I'm feeling pretty good rn

That's awesome, GentlemanFridge! All the best of luck, though I know you've got this!

And @GoodBoyKaru that Djungelskog is so stinking adorable. I haven't been to Ikea in ages, I'll have to sometime (I saw people using the color-changing, head-shaped lamps as displays for various Halloween masks, and now I need some badly).

Adding this cuddle puddle to the thread; sisters Stevie (left) and Blue (right) deciding I wasn't allowed to have my work jacket back that evening.

should be a 3D movie starring Plague. 🤮

I both love, and am incredibly terrified of this idea, Mojo lol

I'm definitely interested after hearing this news, and looking forward to hearing more!

Also, I appreciate everyone keeping the discussion civil with one another, as well as those involved with the project. There will definitely be disagreements, but just remember its ok to agree to disagree.

As there was some argument earlier I hope I can add a clarification: By many standpoints, including those of the classic horror actors and directors, "Horror" and "Thriller" are often symbiotic, with a few key differences that can make them stand apart. Horror is usually defined as eliciting fear, with some degree of predictability, where Thriller is using suspense and mystery to elicit excitement, or "thrill" an audience, that requires the audience to have little to no idea what will occur next.

And obviously, a movie can be both a horror and a thriller. In regards to the film, Happy Death Day, that caused some debate, per the film's own description, is a "dark comedy slasher horror" (obviously the more comedic parts an homage to Harold Ramis' classic, Groundhog Day), but also tags itself a thriller as there is the suspenseful mystery element of the film.

But at the end of the day, no matter what you call it or describe it as, if you enjoyed it, that's all that you need or matters, really <3 Personally gave it a B-average, but I'm one of those that will take an old classic Monsters, Vincent Price, or 80's B-Movie classic (or something in-between being riffed by MST3K or Rifftrax) any day of the week, so I don't feel I am one to harshly judge newer offerings in the genres lol

People says no one plays Twins...

I see Twins wayyy more than Freddy.

Yeah I haven't seen Freddy in a while either. I like when the roster gets wider as it means it keeps you on your toes as to whom you may face, but also means some you stop going against some killers a bit more frequently :(

I actually enjoy playing as Twins! Hag, some Freddy, Nemesis, and Artist as well. Blight I used to play a LOT of... but I haven't played him in a minute and I am super rusty. I gotta go into Rocky-esque, 80s-montage training with him to get Blight back into my personal Killer rotation.

    EDIT, 2 hours later:

My first game of the night, I guess my post here willed a match against Freddy lol (My team was excellent and Freddy was too, just hiding the names out of privacy for em <3 )

  • Actually that is... rather interesting, DarkSkysz, because I ran into the issue as well with only Killer, I have Killer movement bound 1 keyset to the right (E,S,D,F instead of W,A,S,D that is still fine for Survivor) and haven't had issues after doing that. I figured it was my laptop but hearing another case of it, it may be something to get looked into even if its small and may not affect too many players.

Go ahead over to Bug Reports with this one: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs Please check first and see if it has been reported already and upvote it, otherwise you can open a new report following the guidelines.

  • I play and enjoy both a lot, it just depends what I'm feeling for the most part. Lately I've been feeling a Killer itch, so I've knocked out quite a bit of Killer rift challenges lately. Though If I'm feeling survivor (or friends want to play), then I'll spend some time trying (and yeah... usually failing lol) to survive.

  • As the OP has decided they do not wish to engage in a civil conversation, I feel it best to lock the thread.

As many have stated, the DC penalty starts small for things such as IRL emergencies, bugs or issues that make the match unplayable (stuck in an object, unable to move, etc), as well as unexpected loss of internet. If a person chooses to continue leaving matches over things disliked, the penalty will increase in time.

And unfortunately no, there is no sure-fire way for the game to tell if someone genuinely experienced and internet or power outage, or made it seem like that was what occurred to bypass a penalty. And telling someone to get better internet is far easier said than done for a lot of people, whether based on finances, or region, and one should always be respectful of other people's situations they cannot control such as that.

  • @katoptris said:

    Is this limited time?

To my knowledge it is not limited time.

@TheArbiter I know you've been around the Forums for some time, and probably know what I'm gonna say next <3 I would throw this over in Bug Reports if you haven't already following the report guidelines (and upvote it if it has already been reported). Cosmetic clipping such as that is definitely an issue that should be brought up for the team to look at: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/categories/bugs

  • These are great! Standing ovations and high fives, Flowart and Rawmato!

I haven't had much as much time for the Open Beta as I would have liked but... odds are I'll try to theme mine to look like Cat's Lair as much as possible (and if you know what animated show that's from... yes I'm old but it won't stop me from making it happen rofl)

  • Stepping in with a reminder to keep the discussion civil and respectful, please.

Also, a reminder that this is a public Forum. Everyone is welcome to comment, to agree, or agree to disagree, so long as they abide by the Forum Rules when doing so.

  • If you didn't do anything wrong, you will not be seen at fault, and the fact you reported in-game is a credit to that. In cases of suspected cheating or hacking, a Support Ticket is also required with video evidence, as noted in the Game Rules and Reporting Section here.

I will also second Jeromy; I understand you were very scared and worried about being seen as an accomplice to a potential hacker/cheater, but yes, DCing is Unsportsmanlike Conduct, and why it garners a disconnection penalty.

  • VikingDragonXii is partly correct, but there's a bit more to it.

To fully clarify: If a topic is related to DbD, it is General Discussions. If you have feedback about the game or an idea for the game, it goes in Feedback & Suggestions. And if you want to talk about something that may not entirely be related to DbD (or not at all), it would go to the Off-Topic section. No matter the section, it must be an appropriate topic for the forums per the Forum Rules listed here (while the game is rated for older players, please be mindful we try to keep the Forums "PG-13" or so; which is why we have a Profanity Filter here, and why we don't allow discussions of a sexual nature and the like).

And I will say it again: A person's identity is NOT a sexual matter, it is NOT a political matter or agenda, and is NOT an ideology. Nor is wanting to give respectful and honest representation to smaller communities that may not see themselves in media like others. Secondly, politics of ANY kind is not welcome on the Forum, no matter where you fall on any issues.

And lastly, we ask that everyone keep discussions civil and respectful, and if a topic does not pertain to you, or you feel you cannot discuss or respond to a thread and its comments and a civil and respectful manner, you can leave the thread and find another to discuss something else. Thank you.

  • Let's keep this discussion civil, please. And while I am but a Community Moderator, I AM someone that adores the Twins (playing as, going against, and will become a Force Ghost on the hill that Victor NEEDS at least a hat!), and speaking as both and touching on something Mandy has brought up a few times before: please understand some bug fixes are a bit quicker/simpler to resolve than others, and that absolutely does not mean they have less priority (and of course, the bug fixing team is not the same as teams that work on other parts of the game, such as those that brought Maurice home <3 ).

  • @bm33 said:

It's about time they bring him back. He was gone way too long.

He was off horsing around, I just know it... :3

  • I've been sick all weekend... and the news has helped me feel a lot better (hasn't broken my fever, but, you know, emotionally better lol) *ugly cries* I'VE MISSED HIM SO MUCH!!!!

@DBD78 I think it would be funny/neat if it was rng/rotation of survivors and killers (and maybe others) lol maybe sometimes, inbetween matches in the Entity's Realm, one of the Legion, or Felix, or Clown, or maybe even Mr. Moomoo, got a little too close to Dregie's personal space and it happens sometimes?

  • From the sheer amount of arguing and attacks on others, I will go ahead and close this here. As has been repeatedly stated (and posted on this thread as well), using places like Discord and the like to communicate with others is NOT cheating, reportable, or bannable. Also, the new Survivor HUD introduced allows information regarding the match in-play to be given to all survivors; solo, teamed, or teamed in a voice chat. Understantably it isn't entirely the same, but as Peanits succinctly pointed out, it helps to bridge this gap as much as possible for players:

    image.png

  • All the virtual positive energy, brownieland <3 I have similar issues myself, and I definitely understand what you're talking about and where you're coming from on this issue.

There are some things coming regarding the Bloodweb, per the Year 7 Roadmap:

    image.png

While there is no further information to be shared at this time, I am looking forward to seeing what these change(s) will entail, try them out when able, and really hope it'll be helpful for those that the bloodweb is more than just time-consuming, but can be physically problematic <3

  • Closing this thread here, as it is going around in circles and uncivil.

Please remember while facecamping is considered unfun by many, it is not a reportable offense, as noted here in the Game Rules.

Being civil and respectful should be the cardinal rule when talking to others. Even if you don't feel something is offensive, it may be so. For such things, it is always best to err on the side of understanding, and refrain from making comments presuming things about others. This is not just a good rule for post-game chat, but here on the Forums, and anywhere on the internet, for that matter.

  • I gotta admit, 50's milkman Hillbilly was not an outfit I would have ever expected, but its too great not to wear on Hillbilly. I hope to see it make it to the store too as I have friends that missed it! Rift outfits can come to the store as soon as about 6 months after that rift closed, but it could also be a lot longer than that.

I'll add a few of mine:

    Trapper - Krampus skin

Wraith - both Candle skins, and The Heart of Miss Smithson weapon (I have never unequipped that weapon since I bought it lol)

Hag - Creature skin from Haunted by Daylight (Halloween Event)

Mikaela - Midnight Grove (Halloween event) outfit

    Haddie - Twisted Masquerade outfit

Legion - Lethal Kitten (Susie), mask and weapon may vary

David- this mashup, I call this my Dr. Robotnik David:

  • I have gotten quite a few that made me smile!

A lot of "those were some great chases, I thought I lost you a few times", which I take as a compliment because my ability to lose a survivor right under my nose is... rather impressive.

The other one was when I was playing Doctor on Ormond and when I was following a survivor into a jungle gym, I was charging the Static Blast, but when I turned the corner I saw him interacting with a Yellow Glyph, so I promptly cancelled it and gave them a moment to solve it (which they did), and gave them a 5 second head start back into the chase lol At the end of the match they gave me a very big thank you for letting them grab it <3

I personally love to spread positivity and give compliments; whether the killer terrified the heck out of me (which is rare, so a big compliment), they were fun, or as Killer, if I saw great survivor teamwork or I was envious at how well a survivor ran a tile and I was taking mental notes for when I played later... or if I thought a Killer/Survivor has impeccable fashion sense :3

  • The OP here created a post to express feedback regarding Felix's Per Collection shirt looking a certain way they felt was odd. A shirt that is larger and different than what Felix has in his collection is fine, and fine to disagree with (I personally enjoy wearing much larger shirts a lot of the time, and rather like it for him).

However, it does appear that many comments fell quickly into body shaming (as well as some negative comments regarding diet/eating habits), and as such, the thread will be locked here to prevent further comments of that direction.

Please, let's remember body shaming has no place here, or anywhere for that matter.

  • Hey lokii,

First of all, deep breaths <3 while not being aware of a rule never dismisses a break of the rules, we all make mistakes. You are aware of it now, and that is what matters the most.

To fully clarify: Yes, if you as a Killer teamed with one or more Survivors, or as a Survivor teamed with a Killer to purposefully grief and remove another Survivor from the game (i.e. repeatedly revealing their location to the Killer, purposefully and repeatedly impeding their ability to run and escape the Killer such as preventing them from vaulting windows or throwing/vaulting pallets in a chase), that is Intentional Gameplay Abuse, as noted here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules it would need to have been reported in-game (required), and Support Ticket with video evidence is optional. If it was not reported in-game to flag the match, it would not be a complete report to be reviewed, and reports like that are handled quickly when reported properly.

I would sincerely hope your friends are also aware and mindful of all the Game Rules moving forward, but the fact you are remorseful and actively aware not to do it again (and have not done it since) is what is most important.

  • Feedback regarding the game is always appreciated; whether from new players or veteran players, constructive points of view allow things to be seen from different angles. That being said though, because of comments from those commenting here biting at one another, including the OP, I am going to lock this here.

As it has been stated, Tunneling and Camping are not reportable offenses (as noted here in the Game Rules). I do understand the frustration with these myself, and why its a largeand heated topic with the community, but please remember to keep all discussions here on the Forum civil and respectful with fellow players & Forum members alike; including how someone decides to play (within the Game Rules, of course!).

And please, a small reminder to not open multiple threads on the same subject within a small span of time.

  • I know this is an often discussed and debated topic, but I ask those participating in the discussion to please keep it civil and respectful.

Also, a reminder that the admission, promotion, or encouragement of Unsportsmanlike Conduct (i.e. DCing), is against Forum Rules, so please be mindful of that (and the other rules) when posting. Thank you.

  • We do not discuss bans on the Forum. For information on your Ban, please contact Support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • Thank you LadyKandomere for taking a moment to report something you felt may have been a bug!

In this case, it is intentional; the Nurse can blink through exit gates that are not yet opened. It is something I've done on accident more times than I care to admit to (though not as often as accidentally blinking myself into the basement while in chase). In regards to the 3-blink, it may have been the Torn Bookmark add-on that adds an extra charge token.

  • Growing up, the dinner description in bold was our traditional Xmas dinner (later my parents switched it to ham). Pumpkin Pie is not uncommon for Xmas, but definitely more popular during the Thanksgiving season in the US, mostly because stores are pumpkin-crazy from October-November (which I'm not mad about to be honest lol)

Unfortunately due to some... new dietary restrictions this year (grumble), my Xmas dinner was picking and pecking at some really good things my brother-in-law made (he likes to make different things each year, and 90% is vegetarian to accommodate us), none of which is described in the Google answer lol Cheesy Buffalo Hummus Dip, Mini Quiches, Breaded and baked ravioli, and I made deviled eggs as I do every Thanksgiving and Xmas to keep my late father-in-law's tradition alive <3

  • Cleaning up and closing the thread here; as it is getting more than a bit argumentative.

I would also like to leave a quick a reminder: while everyone is allowed to be upset or disagree with others, please always remember keep comments civil and respectful towards others here on the Forum; this includes other players as much as it does others here on the Forum itself.

  • Locking this thread, per the OP's request.

  • I believe this discussion has run its course, and most notably with some comments made by the OP, so I will proceed to close the thread. Constructive and civil feedback regarding the game (both positive and respectful criticisms) is always appreciated and welcome, but attacking others for their points of view, are not ok.

  • As versacefang mentioned above, a person choosing to go through all the hook states and be sacrificed on first hook is not a reportable offense. Getting reports for things like this, as well as things listed as NOT reportable, keep the ACMs from reports for things that are reportable and bannable. For information on what is and is not reportable, you can find them here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

  • As this has devolved quite quickly into attacks on one another, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread here. Please remember, by no means does everyone have to agree on something, but all this is asked is to keep disagreements civil and respectful. Thank you.

  • Hey JakeCannon,

When you want to report a bug, please go ahead over to the bug report section so its more visible to the Team: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs please check first and see if it has been reported already and upvote it, otherwise you can open a new report following the guidelines.

I agree, I do wish they had a MOVED label rather than closed just for clarification for newer forum members but yeah, threads are generally not closed unless someone is breaking the rules in their original post (like spam, naming and shaming, or going overboard with personal attacks).

Some things are a matter of of the Forum Host, but that's definitely something to throw over in Forum Feedback if it hasn't been already!

But as others mentioned, when a topic is moved and a redirect link appears, it'll say "Closed", and clicking on it will send you to the thread. Oftentimes as well the post may say "Edited by (Moderator) at (time/date)"; that more often means we moved it but did not do anything to the post itself (though from time to time if something is over the line but not enough to warn, we may edit).

When we close posts, we will state why it was closed so OP and those participating are aware. And if you have further questions about a post closing or anything else regarding the forum, please feel free to leave a message on one of our Activity Walls!

And, I hope it's ok, but as the misunderstanding on the wording has been clarified by Forum Members stopping in and answering, I'll go ahead and close this discussion up ❤️

  • Going to close this discussion here; between some comments made here as well the thread topic itself of accusations toward part of the playerbase.

  • Aww hey now @Ghouled_Mojo believe me, I completely understand the anti-social part, I usually hop on killer when I'm really feelin it, but we absolutely appreciate and pay attention to you 🖤

To my knowledge/memory, I haven't survived with members of the Forum unless they played under another name from their Forum Name, but I recall specifically playing as killer against a couple of y'all! The last one I specifically recall was this past summer in my first ever Dredge game... on Gideon's Meat Plant... with very low-level perks...and no idea what I was doing and teleporting to lockers when not meaning to lol I'm not going to lie, I was a little embarrassed that they saw me play like that, but being a babu Dredge I tried not to be so hard on myself about it. They played very well with their fellow survivors, but I was definitely a roadside Tourist Trap-grade World's Largest Potato 😂

Its always lovely to see y'all in the Fog, and if you are able to talk in the lobby, please feel free to say hello (I swear I don't bite... unless I'm Hag with Devour Hope or a Mori... then probably...but hellos still welcome)

  • hey honestyoverbias,

As mentioned before, go ahead over to Bug Reports with this issue https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs if it hasn't been reported already you're free to open a new report on it. If you are able to post the video in the report (either new report or comment it in an exsisting report), that can help a lot to see whether or not it is indeed a bug.

  • Seconding DoritoHead lol

I think the Headless Horseman was the first specific monster/creature/folklore I remember seeing as a kid (I think mostly because of the yearly re-aired Disney Halloween special), so most anything Headless Horseman will get an enthusiastic vote from me 🎃
