How is that any better than disconnecting?
Because you are not denying the killer sacrifice points, or any potential progress towards an achievement. Most importantly you are not violating any game rules.
Just because you feel entitled to make players suffer through something they loathe for your own personal enjoyment doesn't mean they will comply with it. Most people are sensible enough to play this game for fun. That is why you struggle to get a satisfying Legion match. Most players don't find them fun and exit the match as quick as possible.
-
@Eveline said:
Screwing teammates is not selfish? I am done talking.
No its not. Because you don't owe anyone in the game anything. Survivors are not entitled to survive. Killers are not entitled to kills. Players are not obligated morally or otherwise to endure a whole match they are not enjoying just so the other survivors have a better shot at surviving. Your one and only concern is your own enjoyment within the rules of the game, of course.
I cannot explain it any more than I have already. You don't agree. Fine. Then not discussing it any further is a good idea. There's only so many times you can make the same point. As the saying goes you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

@Eveline said:
Dwight funny how you call others selfish and yet you approve of suicide on hook and screwing your teammates. Nice hypocrisy.
There is no hypocrisy. I did not call "others" selfish, I said you specifically were selfish for deliberately trying to make people angry and create a hostile environment on the forums. That achieves nothing other than to create needless toxicity. Not to mention its against forum rules.
Dying on the first hook in a match you are not enjoying is neither selfish nor a breach of rules. Its ending a joyless experience for you, you are giving the killer the sacrifice points, and not denying them a possible advancement toward an achievement. Explain why anyone should waste their precious free time enduring something they are finding completely tedious? Just to appease a bunch of strangers they don't know? You don't play a game for the entertainment and enjoyment of others. You play it for yourself.
Crying foul that its screwing your team mates is like crying foul over being camped and tunneled. The killer's not concerned with what you like or dislike, so we have to suffer the very unfun experience of camping and tunneling killers. Its frustrating, its not fun for survivors, but its perfectly legit in the game rules, and the killer's right to do so. Its why I don't condone dc'ing because just like playing as killer you are going in knowing you may face situations you don't like. If you play this game then you are accepting the rules that go with it. You make your bed, you lie in it. You have two options in a match you are not enjoying for what ever reason. You can endure the tedium of it, or you can end it A.S.A.P. within the rules of the game and move on to a hopefully better fun match.
This situation is no different. You want to end a tedious match, then die on the first hook. You don't owe anyone anything. You're not obligated in any way to stay in a match you are finding a total chore. You're not breaching the game rules.

This is a multiplayer game with 3 ppl depending on you. Maybe look for another game then. DBD is the only game where this ######### gets accepted because the devs don't have faith in their product and community. Any other game punishes you for leaving a TeamPvP match that you don't like. And punishments WILL get worse with dedicated servers where devs will be able to get more accurate stats about DCers.
I certainly don't have fun playing vs a nurse because her whole ######### concept is the most broken BS that I have seen in any game, yet I will still not DC and still try to evade her (which btw is more futile than trying to T-wall a legion if the nurse is not an absolute scrub or you're on the game/lery's/cornfield on certain areas) and then inevitably die, the only difference is I won't struggle in p2 if the match is over anyways because I hate the struggle-######### in general already and I don't feel like it's worth bashing the spacebar for a minute just so 1 guy COULD get the hatch.
You really are not capable of reading comprehension. This is the second time you've ranted at me about the evils of dc'ing. I never said I dc'ed. Can you not grasp that? I am talking about dying on the first hook. I am not condoning dc'ing which is against game rules. I saw you crowing in your stirring thread how you will report dc'ers and get them banned. So what are you babbling on about here regarding no punishment for dc'ers?
You need a reality check. You play this game then you are accepting the game rules. There is no rule that states you cannot die on first hook. You are not denying the killer their sacrifice points or progress toward a potential achievement. If it puts your team at a disadvantage then tough. Put it in the same bracket as camping and tunneling. Its frustrating but its a condoned part of the gameplay.
You decide to play killer then you are taking on infinite loops, swf and everything else. Just like if we play survivor we take on the possibilty of being camped and tunneled.
But if you are not enjoying a match then you have every right to end it as soon as you can within game rules. You are not obligated morally or otherwise to endure something you are not enjoying. If you think anyone is wrong for that then you are completely deluded.

And ruin the chance for everyone else to win? I thought you were reasonable but you are the same as them.
There is nothing reasonable about wasting your free time on something you are not enjoying. People play this game for fun. Why should they endure tedium and frustration? That's illogical and idiotic.
I don't play this game for other people's enjoyment. Nobody else should either.

I usually let Legion hook me and then I die on the hook (I never dc). It just isn't fun playing against him.

No I just love to strike back against toxic people who dc. Let's not forget who the bad and selfish people are.
I don't like dc'ers any more than you do. Strike back by reporting them. Don't try and create hostility on the forums. There's enough toxicity in this community without intentionally adding to it. That's bad and selfish, too.
-
Proof right there you can have a good game, make a ton of bloodpoints, and pip if you are a player who cares about rank, without needing to kill a single survivor.
Well done.

If people get mad because I said Legion is balanced, who is at fault really? Who is toxic here again, people who dc or me saying Legion is balanced? Think about that a little bit.
Why do you keep dancing around the fact that you said you made that comment in order to make people mad. The fact you succeeded is beside the point. You intentionally made a post in order to anger people. I believe its not the first time you've done that given your post history. But that is the first time I saw you admit to it in regards to that post. You wanted to create hostility, for what, for your own amusement. That is toxic, petty, and I'm pretty sure against the forum rules.
Why don't you think about that a little bit.

So if I play Legion and get people mad (Just because I play Legion) I should be banned from the forum. Oh god you people will say anything to support your claims.
That's not what I was talking about at all. You said you make certain comments on this forum regarding the Legion in order to make people angry. That is your goal behind making those comments. To provoke people.
Not talking about what character you choose to play in the game.

@Eveline if true I would advise you cease that before you get banned.

I love all Dwight's perks, but especially Bond. It is so useful in numerous situations.
-
Do you really get 80% of your matches having Coldwind offerings from survivors? I am legitimately surprised at that because I can't remember the last time I saw a survivor burn one. Killers yes, usually Hillbillys or Leatherfaces, but very rarely survivors.

DC isnt trouble at all, its what it caused. And that cause is a heavy misjudgement by the devs thinking Legion design was a good idea. As long as devs dont take any measures against this, they have to live with dcs, cause thats the only counter to that piece of trash.
By all accounts even the devs have said Legion was a mistake.
-
I love the swamp maps especially Pale Rose. I was surprised to see how many survivors dislike the map when I joined these forums. Only real drawback is the totem placements are trickier to find.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
Why not remove map offerings completely instead?
I think if they did then 90% of games would be Coldwind, Autohaven and McMillan. At least with map offerings you can get some variety. Or if you are trying a certain build on a killer that works best on a specific map e.g. jump scare Myers on Lery's.

My apologies, you mentioned giving up and naturally I thought of DCing. Given the mass promotion of "DC against Legion" it's not unreasonable to make such a connection.
Its fine. Its just I've mentioned several times in this thread now I do not condone dc'ing at all. Apart from it being against game rules it also denies killers sacrifice points, and potentially progress toward an achievement. I struggled for a while to get my Evil Incarnate achievement on Myers because of dc'ers for example.
But if players want to just go and give themselves up and die on first hook because the match is no fun at all then that is their right. Nobody should be expected to endure tedium for anyone else. But don't dc. You play this game then you are accepting the rules that come with it.

"No one should suffer through tedium . . . end the monotony. . ."
So if survivors loop I have every right to DC? Great! After all looping is just monotonously running in a circle. It's a tedious experience of just getting stunned with a 33% chance of actually working towards my objective.
Another one who can't read simple english grammar... I never said dc'ing was ok and you should do it. If you don't like being looped either follow the usual response to a Dbd complaint and "git gud", play a killer who is good at ending loops like Clown, or just give up chasing and let the survivors finish the gens and leave.
Again to repeat for those who can't read basic grammar; I never mentioned dc'ing.

Cool, should we DC then as soon as survivors use SWF or exploit Loops? See how fast the game goes to ######### if DCing is ok in certain circumstances. Should I start DCing as soon as survivors use the near infinite in Haddonfield that should've been patched out long ago?
Read my words before knee jerk responding. I never said anything about dc'ing. I do not condone dc'ing. I said sacrificing themselves quickly to the killer. That is perfectly fine and every player's right. End the tedium quickly within the game rules.
If you're not enjoying being infinite looped or being out played by a co-ordinated SWF then go stand in a corner and wait for them to finish the gens and leave. Otherwise you made your bed by taking on an SWF or chancing going to a map with powerful loops. So either lie in it and take them on or just wait til it ends.
But I never condoned dc'ing.

I haven't had a SINGLE game as Legion today where people didn't disconnect or gave up. Literally every game ended in a 5 gen 4 man because people just DC... So boring.
I payed for this DLC and I want to be able to PLAY IT!
Then stop playing Legion. Because unless they get a rework you're probably rarely going to get a decent match with a killer most people find as much fun as a root canal.
Good on the people who just gave up and sacrificed themselves. Nobody should suffer through tedium to appease anyone else. End the monotony quickly and move on.

He s nothing special just a good killer like plenty of players in dbd. Yet so far i seen his HillBilly games where first surviors of his are playing like idiots he gets first hook easy then it doesnt take much to do good the rest of a game . I dont see him cutting the loops like good killers does in his games at least what ive seen so far he doesnt even meet loops at first chase(survivors are running in open against Billy lol ) or if he does survivors are playing like on Rank 20. What the ######### is this he downs first survivor then he make a few steps and immediately find another survivor those are potato survivors he verses basically every single game.
No you're wrong, he just makes survivors look like potatoes because he's that good.

No it is not fun for me to stay in the corner while survivors click their flashlights, I will dc. Very straight forward. Find new game where I might have fun. Not playing is not fun.
That's your choice. But suffer the consequences of dc'ing regularly if you choose to do so. There's a stark difference between dying on first hook, and just dc'ing.
Very straight forward.

If I don't like broken items swf has in the lobby I will dodge. Very straight forward.
If they pick coldwind farm or map I don't like I will dc. Very straight forward.
If they have ds I will dc. Very straight forward.
I just want to have fun.
Dodge all the swf lobbies you want. That's your right.
I never condoned dc'ing. I condone survivors just finding the killer, getting hooked and dying on first hook to end the tedious Legion match for themselves.
In your case if you get a map you don't like then stand in a corner, do nothing til the gens are done and the survivors escaped. That way you don't have to suffer the map, or any ds users, you are not breaking any rules by dc'ing, and you get 5k for doing nothing.
Your fun remains intact, nobody breaks any game rules. Very straight forward.
-
It helps you end an unfun situation for yourself. You play this game for fun. Facing Legion is not fun. So you end it A.S.A.P.
Very straight forward.

Killing yourself on hook is the same as disconnecting because you intentionally end the game quickly.
No its not the same, because first of all you are not denying a killer their sacrifice points, or potentially working toward an achievement or getting a daily done. Second, its not a bannable offense to die on the first hook. Third it is a player's right to leave the match early if they want to. They are not obligated, morally or otherwise, to endure a tedious match to appease other players' enjoyment. The only enjoyment you are concerned with is your own.
If most players don't enjoy facing Legion, and you find you're not getting satisfactory matches because of that, then don't play the Legion. Because nobody should be expected to waste their valuable free time on something they loathe just because you or anyone else wants to play the Legion. If you do expect them to then you need a serious reality check.
Simple as that.
-
You don't watch his streams if they are the only killers you've seen him play. He plays them all. Myers, Hag, Clown, Trapper, Spirit, Wraith etc.

And i asked you why?
You asked why he is great? Because he is crazy skilled. He steam rolls survivors. Most matches they struggle to get more than one gen done. He recently did a series of killer matches where he ranked up from rank 20 all the way to rank 1 using no perks or add ons. Nothing except raw skill.
You want proof of this go to his twitch or Youtube channels for the videos. Its all there.

And ruin the gaming experience for everyone else in the match? Waste other people's times, waste their addons/offerings and screw over your survivor team? If you think that's okay I don't what to say.
I'm not condoning dc'ing, but the concept of leaving the match a.s.a.p. like if players want to go and die on first hook is absolutely fine and their right.
Why should they suffer a match they are not enjoying? At the end of the day you are in this game for your own enjoyment. Not to appease other players. If you're not enjoying a match then end it. Go find the killer and die on the hook. Only a fool would waste their free time on tedium rather than moving on to something they enjoy.
-
@Eveline said:
Only people who can't take a loss dc. There is no other reason. And if they doubt their abillity to win in certain circumstances they dc at the start.
You can win against any killer.
Of course there is other reasons. The fact so many players find Legion matches utterly tedious shows its not an issue of skill but an issue of enjoyment. Or in Legion's case lack thereof.
People find Nurse tough but you don't see Nurse mains complaining like this about dc epidemics. You don't see players always griping about how tedious skilled Nurse matches are.
Truth is most people find Legion matches about as much fun as a root canal. Its not because they are lacking skill. Its because the matches themselves are lacking fun which is why you play this game in the first place.
-
@Claudette_Baguette said:

It's not that Legion is even close to being brokenly overpowered. Most survivors win against Legion. It's a 4v1 game, even if you die eventually in a 1v1 there is still 3 survivors working on gens and doing stuff. Legion can't put out enough pressure or down survivors fast enough to really be an effective killer. So just DCing against Legion shows that people just have to git gud sometimes if you ask me.
Just don't heal against him so you safe a lot of time and you can loop him and his 110% movement speed for ages. And as everyone knows, hitting people for 4 times with frenzy takes a long time and is really not efficient and other survivors can just genrush. Legion is really not a big deal tbh.
Just don't heal against him and you save a lot of time......save this 'advice' for when the thanatophobia buff comes out. I can hear the laughing already.
-
@powerbats said:

So by that same token, looping, flashlight clicking, tea bagging (it's wrong), insta heals, AD, Gen rush etc etc etc is ok then? Because you can't complain about your fun and say they can't have their's as well.
The issue with Legion is that there's absolutely no counterplay if you're moonwalk exploiting, using Frank's + either Stab Wounds Study or Cold Dirt. Throw in how they all seem to run Thana and Sloppy with the above it's 2-4k.
What the sneakiest exploiters have discovered is use the above and proxy camp with M&A and or Insidious.
With Nurse you can at least los juke her with Legion your heartbeat gives you away and even hiding in a locker doesn't save you.
Well said.
-
I don't condone dc'ing just because they hate the killer, but this epidemic of it happening is another sign of how tedious and unfun Legion matches are.
People just don't want to face such a joyless killer. When that thanatophobia buff comes out, the dc rates will sky rocket.
