wait did you actually lose all your stuff
Yeah
-
I'm actually genuinely happy
-
I have never once said this game is gonna die.
I am now.
-
Remove this Pinhead and get Clive Barker's when he wins back the lawsuit. Please for the love of God.
-
I'm genuinely upset. I made a comment here already saying things are fine (until I read the Twitter post and held back immense rage.)
God dammit. We for once I thought things were good. They need to drop the Hellraiser chapter immediately. I feel like that's the safest option Bhvr can do and try to talk to Clive Barker when he regains the license.
-
TREATYOURSELF
-
First... let me just say hurray... I got my wish of Bhvr giving an answer
But that doesn't make me feel better, I thank Bhvr for the Hellraiser chapter, but it wasn't worth actively selling their soul to the fictitious devil. I know Bhvr worked on these and that's what makes me upset. If you're smart. You'll ignore the NFTs and go about your business so no harm to you, but major harm to a good portion of people and the last time I made a post like this, a few didn't care about about the people who... fell for it.
How you will think of Bhvr of this situation is entirely up to you, how I think it went is something similar to them being pulled by the neck with a rope and caller. Forced to make these models and agreements in order to appease the masses of the cult following... which... is ultimately Bhvr's hand in this situation. Grant it, I don't know what's behind their plans and schedules. But, I do know Boss Protocol stated that they worked with the license holders (unless that changed) and made an agreement to make these NFTs so that they can get some sleazy bonus money. Bhvr was forced into it, just to keep the contract going.
I want to believe that and if that's true... well. I personally don't think it was worth it. No way was it worth that. They should have waited and tried dealing with Clive Barker's license agreements instead.
I might be a bit dramatic, but.. this is not a good sign. And if there is gonna be more license agreements that are just as bad, I just hope Bhvr releases that it's not worth it at all.
-
Bhvr didn't do anything, it was the license holders using Bhvr's assets. Bhvr is in the clear, but if the current owners tried doing anything on steam they would be in trouble.
Bhvr is fine
Edit: Ignore this. Disregard this message completely.

Whilst we might not actively respond on every feedback or thread that exists, we do see these and forward them to developers. Feedback is not being unheard or ignored and I understand why this question is being asked. Some of us do engage in discussions regarding the game and such, but we do also still need to moderate the forums, all while the Coordinators to work on other things too. That takes up some time and does not always open the chance to respond at the regular.
I still remember how Almo tried selling me that the wooden horse for Huntress is a good addon on one of my posts

Shady tactics already exists. It's Undying. We won't get another better version than that since it's very strong. I would like killers to be more intimidating too. But that's a bad way to go
-
Awhile ago someone made a post talking about how would you come up with a killer's power if I gave you a name.
They said the photographer and I made Larry A. Abrahm.
He was a stealth killer who can hide in lockers and cause a special type of exposed if he takes a certain amount of pictures of the survivors with his fog bound camera and with the sweet added bonus of downing survivors who try to hide in the same locker he is.
I was actually so hyped to make a drawing of this character and everything.. but something came up.

Chasing a survivor down a hallway that has lockers.
Scares the hell out of me all the time

Awhhh yeah! He finally got his interview!

Therefore it has nothing to do with BHVR (in-game stuff) so BHVR doesn’t need to confirm anything.
Now it does since they mentioned it. Which was the ultimate goal of this post

I was completely agreeing with what you said in every aspect. I'm not sure how you can take what I said otherwise, but no, I completely agree with you. My point was to say that the die-hard fans will apologize or explain away for BHVR no matter what happens and they will not listen to your logic. That's all.
The fact that their models are being used however license holders want and BHVR allows that in their contracts says that BHVR is at least accepting of the situation. I find it very hard to understand why any company would allow their work, even if licensed from another entity (no pun intended), to be used for things that could be viewed as ethically wrong. It slightly stuns me to be honest. If nothing else, you'd think they'd have a clause that would require them to have a say in how the models are used. That also begs the question, is that true for all of their (licensed) models. For example, could the Stranger Things license holders be able to use those assets in their own games?
Ah, I'm sincerely sorry for lashing out at you! It's sometimes hard to separate general agreement with sarcasm. I am so sorry, it can get difficult.
While it does seem like they are complacent, it's really out of their control. I can't blame them for the response that they give, that's pretty much all they can say. The license holders truly held Bhvr by the neck with these agreements and Bhvr gets thrown under the bus because of it
-
A blight funko would be awesome

They agreed that the license holders can do whatever they want with the in-game model and chapter keys.
All DBD did is provide them with an-in game model and chapter keys, hellraiser nfts could still exist if they got a model elsewhere, this was just a convenient business opportunity for the license holder. So i really can't blame behaviour for anything personally. It's this, or no hellraiser chapter.
I can't blame them either, I'm not trying to put on the impression that they are at fault.
Licenses are kinda of a cruel world.
-
The license holders just made the decision and Bhvr was kinda forced to follow by giving them the assets. They didn't agree to this, but they were kinda dragged into this by the shareholder.
That's a bit upsetting, but I'm happy we at least got a response

They = BHVR
If they had concrete information about the situation, they could have said that Boss Protocol's NFT's are illegitimates.
Their Tweet specifically does not address if Boss Protocol's NFTs are valid, they instead say that the license holders they have partnered with have access to the Models and Keys in such a way that it is possible the license holders could have made their own agreement with Boss Protocol.
One thing to note is that the Boss Protocol page does not actually say that they partnered with BHVR, just that their NFTs are 100% licensed. This, in addition to the Tweet that states that the models can be used by license holder as they see fit, and that they give the license holders Keys, means that the NFT's from Boss Protocol could actually be 100% legit (The Butterball image could literally be a Toy included with the NFT), however the deal would have been completely done by Pinheads license holders using DBD's assets.
They then cleared up that there will not be any NFT exclusive content. Which at least means that there will not be any "trading card" aspect tied directly into DBD content.
At the moment, BHVR can't give an answer as to if Boss Protocol's NFT's are legitimate (perhaps waiting on confirmation from their license holder partners), but they can state that there will not be any exclusive DBD content only available through the NFT's.
At the moment, Boss Protocol is either a scam, or a legitimate NFT that uses deceptive marketing to make DBD players think that they will get an exclusive in-game tie-in (in the form of a Butterball cosmetic).
Exactly, yeah that sums everything up. That last part you stated is even why I made this post in the first place.
It's unsure if it's legit or not and that can be incredibly harmful to everyone, so I wanted to see if Bhvr can give a definite yes or no, but I guess the major reason why they didn't say anything or why the wording is weird because they are also in the dark themselves about this since it's the license holders making the agreement, not them.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Hmm, so at the moment they do not know what the deal is with Boss Protocol either. At the very least if these NFTs are actually something, they are not going to facilitate "rarities" that tie into DBD, and hopefully are not supportive oft he wasteful Ethereum NFT transactions.
When you say they, may I ask whom you're referring to? I know the situation, I wanted to make this post for people who don't know so we can get a definitive answer, I just trying to help people.

There’s guys like Skeemoo (or whatever his name is) on YouTube that uses BHVR assets to generate custom 3D models. His channel appears monetized (ads) so he’s getting paid but BHVR doesn’t do anything about that.
It’s pretty obvious some things don’t need to be addressed. This NFT nonsense is one of those things.
You do know YouTube at one point made it where ads will play on any video from now on even if it isn't monetized, right? That's outside Bhvr's jurisdiction
Edit: well, kinda. They can attempt to fight it like Nintendo does

Your logic will never get past the know-it-alls. No company, and I mean no company, would ever turn over their assets to be used for something they do not believe in. That would be allowing someone else to use their assets with as they pleased, which could potentially be very ugly for BHVR.
I think the silence says it all, but I know the fanboys won't believe that.
Wait. So you're saying that my logic necessarily doesn't make sense, ignore the point where if Bhvr continues to ignore the fraudulent leech it will cause more damage, then say the exact same thing about how it can be very ugly for Bhvr if someone else used their assets for this exact purpose?
Now yes, no company would invest in something they don't believe in, but being silent about it isn't helping either. There are people falling for this and some of them believe that it is a partner with Bhvr, are we gonna just ignore them and let them drown which could cause more issues?
-

I mean if it hasn’t been announced by the official source then I don’t see why people would get up in arms about it or be “tricked”.
Unless I see a tweet or YouTube trailer or stream from BHVR, I don’t believe any leaks.
Bhvr's actual assets being used. You know, their actual model and name being used. Again, sure, Boss Protical said they were not working with Bhvr, but they did say they are working with the company that is working on the Ash vs Evil dead game and actually GUN media, which is the same company that made Friday the 13th.
Now, if you were a gaming company and I stole your assets and kept making NFTs solely based around them, what would you do? Ignore me? That's fine, I have no reason to stop then, I'll just keep doing it and doing it. While you know it's not real, not everyone does so I'll be making a profit off of them and while I'm hurting them.
They didn't know YOU didn't work with them and they were essentially just robbed and they may take it out on YOU because YOU didn't say anything.
That's why I made this post, if we can have a definitive answer we can hopefully avoid that situation completely, otherwise Bhvr can be hurt by this and might cause other licenses to become very finicky at the idea of partnering with them
-

Well it’s good to know some stuff is being done in the background for that, but it’s accurate in my case.
I’ve gotten a few IRS scam calls yet I’ve never received any kind of notice from the IRS saying “hey, you just got a scam call” or “look out for scam calls”. Not that I needed them to tell me.
Choosing to ignore it and refuse to look it up can actually have that case that you just explained. They did explain in on their website and people just refuse to look into that and report it or be more aware. Why do you think I made this post? To actually stop that and get a definitive answer as well. Just because YOU know it's a scam like ME, does not mean EVERYONE knows its a scam.

When a scam is so obvious why is there a need to discredit it? The IRS doesn’t do ######### about all the fake IRS scams people get hit every day.
I work for a department that deals with unemployment, that statement alone is inaccurate. It doesn't seem like it because you're not actively looking. But, there are so many numbers people had use that my job ALONE needed to save each Fraud number and update it on to our sites to warn people of these documented numbers since they are not ours.
Now the IRS even has a subsection talking about situation as well. They even have a similar situation like we do where they save Robo callers and scammer's numbers as well.
You're statement is actually invalid in this particular case.

No, I saw what you said in your previous comments.
it makes me wonder though, why you feel the need to question their involvement if you’ve seen the evidence. I appreciate you mentioning maybe others who possibly haven’t seen it, however, if anyone is aware, or curious, they’d have then been to that company’s site, will see the FAQ and see BHVR aren’t affiliated with them.
the forum was rampant over the weekend with theories and posts about it, but it seems people have researched and realised that the involvement wasn’t there. At least that was my takeaway from it… and I think now this has happened, it’ll die down and those who do see anything, will look or ask and will be told by those who know.
Yeah. What mainly concerns ME as an individual in this is if BHVR gave their models out willingly. If they had to do it because the license holders said so, then I have no issues. But.. if they had to themselves... I would feel.. odd about that. Something about that would makes me sick. That's the only thing that mainly makes me sick, fingers crossed that they didn't and if this isn't a scam Bhvr was told that they had to or they'll pull the license
-

You do realise the company who have the NFTs have since released statements saying DBD aren’t involved with them? There’s an FAQ on their site now and it’s cleared pretty much everything up. They’ve said they have PC codes for the DLC, but that’s it. They have voice lines, but they won’t work in DBD. Anyway - it’s all there. You should watch Paulie Esther’s video on YT for all the info and then go look at said information. It’s all there and available.
Wait a second, did you not see the part where I also said it's "not mandated and you can completely ignore it"?

I have, allow me to copy and paste what I said in the comments
"Just to ease the minds of those who genuinely believe it. Plus, it never hurts to be more aware of the situation"
I want to be more aware of the situation and even if they aren't partnered with that company it's still Bhvr's models and I'm kinda curious on how that even happened. Whether Bhvr willingly gave them to that company or the license holders demanded it, I don't know, but it's interesting to hear. Fat chance we'd get an answer on that, but it's still worth a shot to ASK

I said it on Saturday with the benefit of the doubt that it was the weekend and a Holiday. You'd still think SOMEONE would be paying attention to the flustercuck that was happening on the forum due to it but sure, maybe no one is paying attention or no one who was high enough in the company was paying attention.
At this point, it is getting harder and harder to blame people for believing it. It would take BHVR five seconds to go "Not True" and everyone can move on. But they're not. Are they not because they don't think it's a big deal to dispel the rumor or are they not because it is true but they are kind of hoping that radio silence will make people just kind of forget about it...
EDIT: It's also spreading around in not-DBD forums too. There are other forums with posts about it and I had someone in my Discord pop up a mocking post about how DBD is doing NFT ######### (someone who doesn't play DBD at all).
