Yeah same, haven't been able to get a survivor game and try Zarina.
Killer game on PS4 is almost instantaneous.
It's especially annoying when you want to do survivor challenges, some of which can take several matches to complete.
-
Having fun. No actually, I mean it. I didn't expect to rate Death-Slinger, but I must say I am enjoying playing as him. I have been largely critical of the game as of late, mainly due to balancing and match-making. I also found Oni a crap killer.
Got his Adept trophy after about 10 games, managed to overcome some swf rank 1-2 squads. Sure some of the matches ended with Entity Displeased, I still had some good moments.
Example, 2 survivors left, one of which is hooked. Second survivor tries to unhook, I hit them once, they unhook, I down them and chain the unhooked survivor straight afterwards. Got them both.
The most comedy moment for me was some cocky little swine at the exit gates, running back and forth, trying to dodge my chain attempts. I then managed to shoot them...but what they didn't know is that I had the 15ft away exposed add-on! They got downed and hooked...what a spanner. They were playing at the exit gates and could of just escaped. Glorious.

Quentin & Plague.
-
This, 'Daddy Myers' etc...yes. tiresome.
-
It's just not fun.
The match-making and balancing are big issues which make it that way.
Just loaded up the game after around 5 days off (finished part 3 Tome challenges).
Did my 2 survivor dailies...attempted to do a sacrifice 3 with the Clown daily...got slaughtered. I'm currently a tier 11 and was against 4s and a 1.
Finished the match and turned the game off.
So yeah, for me, DBD has never been a super fun game. If it wasn't for the inclusion of horror icons like Myers and Freddy, I would of never bothered.
I think I have just reached the end of my tether with the game.

Played 5 killer matches last night and it was miserable.
All but one of my games were against red and purple ranks and I got smashed.
One game I got 3K with plague only to discover at the end of the game that 2 were rank 20.
I can catch most survivors eventually but anyone half decent can waste enough of your time that the match is gone.
If survivors just do gens they win. I just have to hope they get complacent and start getting distracted.
The game is addictive still but its a horrible sort of addiction that comes from frustration and it makes me feel bad inside.
This sound very familiar.
I had match on Friday 13th last night...bot match as it was late and I couldn't be bothered waiting for an online.
Good memories.
-
Glad I am not the only one who isn't a master of Oni.
I find his club attack tricky and haven't done the 70 downs trophy.
He isn't one of my faves.

Turn off chat. Zero-salt alternative.
Is turning off chat possible on PC?
-
9 years ago? What game was I playing?
WWE All-Stars on ps3.
Good game...but I haven't played it since about 2014.
-
His chase music should be Will Smith 'Wild Wild West'.
Goodnight all.

This isn't entirely true.
I don't mind getting outplayed. I'm an adult, I can handle losing. It's just a game, and it's obvious when someone is better at it than I am; I don't begrudge them their skill.
But I hate getting taunted, teased, and bullied. Having survivors teabag, click flashlights, run up and orbit me to body block so I can't make it to a hook. Hang out at the gate just to teabag. Saying 'ggez' in chat after the game.
Having two sweaty survivors standing at the ready to drop the pallet on my head the instant I try to pick up their friend. Okay, my mistake there, well played. But if not the pallet it's someone with a flashlight that blinds me before the animation finished so I literally have no option but to slug. And then I chase the other guy away just to have the guy on the ground pop up, because I only play against survivors with four third-level second chance perks.
It's rude and awful, and it's the kind of thing that turns a defeat into a personal insult.
That's the kind of experience that makes it awful for the killer.
People complain mightily about how stuff like camping, tunneling, moris, etc, make the game unfun for survivors. But it's literally the survivors intentionally making it unfun for killers.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying. Some players' behaviour is just so childish. I wouldn't take it personally, they just move on to the next lobby and give more of the same.
But I honestly can't be bummed with it all. If this game wasn't horror, I wouldn't give it a second look.

3 of each:
Dislike playing against 'watch the floor' Trapper, Wraith and Ghost Face.
The more bearable I would are LeatherFace, Huntress and Demogorgon.

Yeah it only spawns on the bottom level on that map. I finally played selfishly and let my last teammate die because:
-there were two gens to go
-I was injured and mori-able
-the killer had an ebony mori he used after one hook on the other two teammates
-I've spent more than 15 hours trying to do this one challenge and I'm so god damn over it
And then the three man SWF I was unlucky enough to be matched with all sent me messages berating me. This community is insane and honestly, I can't wait to be done with this Tome and stop playing.
Haha. Same. I'm thinking of using my accumulated cells to buy a Myers/Laurie skin instead of the pass. So the temptation to play the next challenges isn't as strong. The challenges are ruddy chores.
I did the key challenge in about 4 matches, Hawkins and Gideon. I kept going for Gideon but naturally I was getting overpowered by teammates buring cornfields offerings.

I loved your comment about how scary is a cowboy.
We aren't listened to, only by people at the company that have no power.
When the owners don't listen to the fans they will say they know what they are doing and then blame the fans for leaving
I agree, although it doesn't say we must have scary characters, Hell-Slinger is by far the least scary edition to DBD. I for one am all for horror characters and was disappointed when I saw the latest killer reveal.

F.E.A.R 1 & 2 were incredible, I hope you haven't tainted yourself with 3 🙄
I was quite disappointed with 3.
-
Go for Gideon. I always find it on the bottom floor. It is the key map.
-
I remember in 2009 being legitimately scared of F.E.A.R 2 on ps3. This was the only game that I found really creepy.
-
45.
5 challenges left.
-
He can.
I found this out in a very tragic situation.
I found the hatch and had a map equipped. I wanted to see the hatch aura via my map (I could never seem to find it with the map or I had already lost it etc). So instead of just running up the hill and in to the hatch, I stopped to check my map...
Wraith wandered up the hill and closed the hatch. And I died. And lost my map. 😥
-
Well the queues are certainly not fun.
Just waited around 10-15 mins for a game...was playing against a poor Ghost Face. Was trying to do the 12 unhooks Tome challenge...but Ghost Face was so crap that he wasn't getting any hooks.
Then what do you know...I got hooked and camped. Died. No unhooks.
Being survivor is on the whole more of a pleasurable experience than killer, but I don't find it super fun.
-
When I use them = 😃
When they're used against me = ☹

Yeah, this game reminds me of Mabinogi. Excellent concept, decent lore, but the execution is sorely lacking. Everyone loves the idea but they're all waiting for something better to come along.
Very well put.
-
Nope.
There are "kill by hand" daily challenges.
-
Well on PS4 we have ManEater coming out and Last Year at some point. I will play far less DBD when they're released.
I started playing DBD and Friday 13th around the same time in early summer 2017 but since the F13 had the lawsuit situation, my interest dropped.
The same will likely happen with DBD. It was (in my opinion) never in the same league as F13, a game I loved to play. DBD got my attention with the inclusion of Michael Myers as I'm a huge Halloween fan.
But my interest and overall patience with DBD is wearing thin. No way will I be playing this in 9 year time.

At base you sabotage a hook in 2.5 seconds, from any angle. Toolboxes have fewer charges now, seems to be ~ triple the repair speed but a quarter of the charges.
Saboteur highlights all hooks within 52m of where a survivor gets picked up, has a minute cooldown but you can go and 2.5 second pop a hook and buy a survivor more wiggle time.
Hooks respawn after 30 seconds now, instead of 3 minutes (outside of the Breakdown Perk) but that hardly matters since the damage is done anyway. So it'll be a slug meta after this, and the second chance perks are gonna be out in full force with For The People coupled with Decisive strike now people can insta-heal instead of burning a once per trial Unbreakable or Adrenaline.
Crikey that sounds pretty harsh.
-
I jumped off the 1st floor of Ormond in a chase twice and got it.
Basically anything 1st floor.
-
Unfortunately this is the nature of online gaming. Morons everywhere in every game.
-
Well if we wanted to go for realism, small drug-addict Amanda Young would be the weakest killer in real-life. Maybe between her and one of the female Legions.
But seriously, yeah...she needs some in-game tlc.
-
He has a real voice for the choir.
-
I think the new asylum map was very well done from a horror prospective. It's second only to Gideon in terms of having the perfect 'horror' feel.
-
The current state of match-making.

I've never seen any of these, what would you recommend?
They've all got their charms. Worth checking out if you like cheesy 80s slashers like the Friday 13th series.
Check out the Maniac Cop films, the first two are good. Bruce 'Ash' Campbell stars in them too!
-
I've said it before: no.
I'm of the opinion that whilst films based on real life 20th century serial killers are acceptable, I wouldn't feel comfortable controlling a portrayal of a real life killer who murders victims in a computer game.
The main reason: it would be a public relations nightmare for BHVR.

That's usually the issue most players have, being paired with higher tiered Killers and/or Survivors that far exceed their skill-set at that time. The new Rank Rework will fix that though, so it's not going to be like that forever.
I hope so. If they could just at the very least sort out match-making, it would be an improvement.
-
I only play on PS4, and it's absolutely awful.
I'm currently at rank 12 killer and have gone against ranks 1-2 several times over the past couple of days.
-
Not bitter. Happy guy here. 🤷♀️

Point out the part that's wrong. I'll wait.
Sure, here's one:
If people have spent money and supported it for years, they're invested in the game.
But there could be various issues that have now made the game an experience that is not fun.
And the same people would like those issues addressed so the game could again be a fun experience.
They shouldn't be required to leave if they don't enjoy the current state of the game.
🤷♀️

Well at least you finally understand that one person doesnt dictate fun for everyone. Those who are having fun, enjoy it. Those who dont should leave and not bring everyone else down. 🤷♀️
I think you ACTUALLY got my point, even if you want to hide it in synicysm and snyde remarks.
Glad I got through to you though.

Actually, the game is very fun. At least to me.
Dont speak for everyone just because you're sour about something. 🤷♀️
"Actually the game is very fun." + "At least for me."
Ok is that the way we do things now? "In my opinion"/"for me"/"I personally"...these should be tagged with any statement which has an opinion expressed but could be, in the eyes of some, seen as fact.
In that case, here goes:
The game is not fun. At least for me.
Oh sorry, nearly forgot:
🤷♀️
-
It would be great to have Ghost Face peak out from behind them, then quickly disappear again.
It would be the Mortal Kombat 'Toasty' guy all over again.
-
You know, that's a pretty good idea.
-
😂
'power-outage' pending...
-
Doctor.
Although he's not my favourite, he applies adequate pressure on survivors.
-
Well I no longer get excited about new skins.
Slightly oversaturated.
-
I have recently considered uninstalling the game too.
Just to be free of all the crappery that comes with DBD.
I enjoy horror more than I don this actual game, and have spent a great deal of money and time on it, but at the end of the day it's having fun that matters.
-
For the latest Tome challenge I used Stake Out...but did hit some legitimately.
-
Not sure if it's 'mains' or just people who are actually very concerned about the state of the game, particularly the killer/survivor balance. And justifiably so.
-
Kate should have her guitar.
