God, that movie is so OFFENSIVELY bad. I've seen interviews and stuff with the cast and crew as part of the Crystal Lake Memories documentary (which you really should watch if you are fond of these movies -- it's fascinating, and it's currently available on Shudder), and they make it sound like they just wanted to take it in this wild new direction. I still maintain the theory that it was a script that had nothing to do with Jason, that got retrofitted to be a Friday the 13th movie after New Line bought the franchise from Paramount. I don't know how else anyone in their right mind would have given it the go-ahead, ESPECIALLY as their first foray into this long-running film property that they just bought.
Like, I remember, as a 13-year-old kid, seeing that first scene with the woman at the cabin, and Jason just busts in and starts chasing her. And even back then, I was like "Something seems wrong here. How is Jason here? He was in a Manhattan sewer at the end of the last movie..."
Yeah I never understood that.
I suppose it could be argued that he made his way back to Camp Crystal Lake, leaving a trail of bodies and was followed by the FBI.
Still, terrible film, but that FBI agent at the start 10/10๐

It actually is difficult to add blood to all cosmetics. The blood isn't added randomly - they have to be added manually and intentionally by the art team. It essentially means they have to make two skins instead of one for every skin they release, which cuts into other time to make cosmetics for other characters.
Although it's only my personal preference, I would rather have blood attires over some of the extravagant offerings in the store, but then that's just me. But saying that, two entirely different skins would sell better than a skin and a simple blood alternative.
It's just annoying when, for example, you want a blood skin with a certain head, and the head is clean and shiny.

Jason Lives is a legitimately good horror movie on its own merits. It did the Scream thing and the New Nightmare thing way ahead of them. It (along with the reboot, STFU I will fight you) is the only film in the series with a proper arc and a protagonist.
My first slashers were all the ones that came out in 1988 -- Friday Part 7, Nightmare 4, and Halloween 4. I remember seeing them on cable when I was a kid; that's what got me hooked on horror. Then came Fangoria, USA Up All Night, and Drive-In Theater with Joe Bob Briggs. I love even the horrible stuff in the big franchise slashers! Except Jason Goes to Hell. That is just about the only one that I would actively turn the channel on because it's so beyond bad.
Yeah I remember in 1993 on my way to school, seeing the Jason Goes To Hell flames poster up in the video shop. Pestered my parents all week to rent the VHS. Oh...the disappointment ๐

Kiler:
NOED (Goodbye totems)
Overcharge (Seasoned players can get round it)
Franklin's Demise (Especially the lowest tier. Survivor will just run back and retrieve the item)
Survivor:
Sabotage (They usually end up getting the killer's attention and dying)
Dead Hard (Not all it's cracked up to be. Just delays the inevitable)
Plunderer's Instinct ("lol I'm gonna find all the goodies!" *Other chests have all been searched = ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ)
-
No. It should be 4k with their 3 unique perks. That's it.

Also, most Friday the 13th films are just really not great. With the exception of 6, 4, the reboot (STFU I will fight you), and most of 2, they're all uniformly stupid movies. But I LOVE them. I guested on an episode of a horror podcast not that long ago, because I am a noted huge fan of Jason Takes Manhattan. That movie strains all logic and credibility, and it is a dumpster fire of a movie, but it's so much fun.
I agree. I was going to mention the Friday 13th series.
Looking at the films impartially, they're not works of art.
I genuinely like Jason Lives (VI). It's a good horror film. Jason Takes Manhattan (VIII), whilst being crappy, has a special place in my heart as it was the first Friday 13th I saw when I was around 11-12 years old.

I think little things like the guy who smokes his weight in dope and looks constantly comatose figures out this is all a setup was what got me triggered the most. But hey, at least we had Thor without muscles xD
I loved the way the film flips on it's head from the intriguing slow build to utter chaos. It's good fun and I recommend it.

There is money to be made with Legendary Skins.
With many of the franchises under license still releasing new media, there are potential opportunities to promote uncoming releases ie Spiral (Saw), Halloween Kills, Stranger Things 4 etc

I actually do have the David character, as he is included in the Switch version. I was just thinking of quick grabbing the perk, and focus on another character to level up...(so many people to level up)...
In that case no. I would unlock the teachable if you have the character. Save your shards for something else ๐
Dead Hard is not that essential and usually only delays the inevitable.
-
It deadfinitely is ๐
But anyway, We're Gonna Live Forever is also a good perk. Maybe buy David.

Capturing the killer, tying them up and then demanding one miiiiiiiiiiiiiillion dollars.

It used to be like that, but when the emblem system happened it made those achievements way harder to do. Meanwhile survivor's still is just escape, which is LAME.
It would be super lame if it got changed to making Survivor Adepts harder eg, 3 unqiue perks, all gens completed, one hook rescue, open one exit gate THEN escape.

You pretty much nailed all the characters I'd choose too. Only ones I might change, are Jonathan instead of Hopper, and Eileen instead of James. Still like your choices best, though.
Also other characters:
Ash: Young Ash (End of Evil Dead 1)
Bill: Coach from L4D2
Myers: Bed Sheet Ghost Myers
Leatherface: Pretty Woman Leatherface
Freddy: Robert Englund Freddy
Pyramid Head: SH2 exact replica Pyramid Head. That's just me being selfish though, I know more people would want his movie design.
Bed sheet Myers would be a must buy ๐
-
Freddy on Switch should have the Mario In The Clouds theme as his chase music.

Congratulations mate.
It's a good feeling.
I too actually only my Platinum around a month ago. "Where did they go?" was the one that I needed for ages.
Well done again.

Deathslinger: I am unusually unlucky when facing this bloke. Hemorrhoid.
Ghost Face: A real pain in the bum. He's all over the place with his sneaky little eyes. Hop it, swine.
Spirit: They always seem to hook camp and/or tunnel. Usually not a pleasant gaming experience.

If I was in a situation where I knew a survivor and a killer were working together, I would of just burned rubber out of that exit gate.
-
They're not social distancing. Reported.

If they were to do it, I'd prefer if it was subtle and immersive/fitting for that killer only, rather than letting you put funko pop charms all over the damn place. I really really love this games visual atmosphere and tone and themes. I want them to add more to it, rather than doing something like charms, and follow the footsteps of something like TF2 hats which kills the games art style.
Yes, we don't need something ridiculous with Pop Vinyls and anime art posters of the killers everywhere. Sod that.

NB4 the next killer is..The Baker...shoves survivors in ovens instead of on hooks!
You can pay me later ;P
Hansel and Gretel chapter!
That...could work.
-
I don't think the basements 'giving the killer away' is really a valid issue.
I mean you see a Jigsaw box, a purification fountain, a closed bear trap...you know who it is.
You quickly hear Demogorgon's roar, Deathslinger's harpoon shot, Michael Myers' tier-up notification etc.
And then you have the other details like the dream timers on the survivor icons.
Maybe....maybe it could be that only the killers can see their unique basements. This would make sense as the basement would be the killer's dwelling manifested by the Entity. They have no connection to the rest of the map. The survivor would only see the default wooden basement.
-
First of all, Baked Bloodhounds sound delicious ๐ but seriously, the idea is not bad.
-
Although it wouldn't help with hook camp, maybe make it so only a full-charged shot is an Iridescent.
Could go the whole hog and make the belt add-on incompatible with the Iridescent Head. I bet folks would not be happy with that.
-
I think when taking in to account the massive charge cut with toolboxes, the current sabotage mechanics are fine.
I was worried when they were first implemented, but haven't been inundated with problems since the change.

@FellowKillerMain said:
It is a terrible perk that needs a buff!
Almost every time I've used it, it only activates if I intentionally run as far away as possible. Often times, survivors are so uppity about saving someone from the basement when a killer takes off that I don't make it far enough away for it to activate before the hooked survivor is saved.
The times I have had it fire, and have tried to use it, I use the cool down to know to run back. The aura could probably be removed if it would allow the perk to not have a distance requirement. But honestly, I think it needs more than that.
I'd like to see it function like a mini-blood warden for the basement. When someone is saved off the hook in the basement, and the killer is more than 32m away, the basement is sealed shut for the next 15 seconds. Welllll, that might be too strong XD
Well I think that mini-blood warden is kind of intriguing actually.
Maybe if they're rescued and don't leave within a certain time, the warden activates (with the killer some distance away). I'm not sure.
-
Uh oh...Huntress' iridescent head could be going in to the same confiscation cupboard as Spirit's prayer beads ๐
-
Sometimes it's better to bring out a perk which has room for improvement. That way, if a buff is later implemented, it's usually well received.
Buffs are often much more welcome than nerfs.
-
@GoshJosh said:
Actually, because it's such a situational perk, I would be ok with removing the distance requirement to buff it. Perhaps that and removing the aura time limit (i.e. see their aura for their entire duration in the basement, minus lockers) and cooldown. Or if not all of these ideas, a combination of some.
I did consider the distance requirements. I thought it could cause some camping issues. But saying that, stealth killers can just hide in the actual basement. Some add-ons like Amanda's letter also increase the effect.
Again it is a situational perk, and even with the full buff without limits, I doubt many killers would equip it. But it would certainly help with some challenges etc.

@Dr_Loomis I mean then what's wrong with just keeping that and disabling an in game chat? Then it wouldn't effect you at all and other people would be able to make new friends or trash talk at their leisure
I don't think you can disable the PC lobby chat, but I could be mistaken.
-
@Zillence said:
@Vox_Nocturne yea disabling is fine. Pc can already disable it.
@Dr_Loomis wouldn't you prefer the trash talk to be in a chat you can disable in game rather than getting pinging dms spammed into your messages? Not to mention the dbd team moderates better than Xbox or PS4.
Nah I have my messages to 'friends only' on PS4. If someone really wants to insult me they have to send a friend request. Which I rarely get but always delete.
-
I understand 'crappy' can be a subjective term, but I meant films universally slated and regarded as low quality trash...but which you personally find fun to watch.
Another example from myself:
Jaws - The Revenge
-
I wouldn't be dead against that, it we could get maybe 3 male, 3 female for Steve and Nancy.
-
My mum always said "Eat what you're given or you get nothing at all." (Read that again in Adam Sadler's Waterboy voice)
-
I don't want chat on console.
I already know how bad a person I am. I don't need others reminding me.

That is a fantastic idea! Although people could cheese it with an ebony mori.... but hey, Survivors can cheese it with a key, so I guess that's fair.
Exactly. They can use a key to escape and get an Adept Survivor achievement but a killer damages their chances of getting an Adept by performing a mori.
Killer Adepts are measured on overall performance, while the survivors just have to escape by any means, with no measurement on how they performed in the match.
It's all butt-backwards.
-
Not sure about Merciless, but Adept Killer achievements should be: 4 kills with only the killer's 3 unique perks equipped.
-
Maybe it's a way of deterring people from slugging.
If a killer downs a survivor, they have to pick up, walk, hook and then find other survivors (or camp the hook, depending on personal salt levels). This gives a bit of time for cool-down.
If there was no cool-down, and a killer was to down a survivor (Surge activates) and then down another survivor straight afterward (in theory setting off Surge again), there would be big regression penalties in a very small space of time.
It could encourage rather disagreeable tactics.
-
It can be very frustrating.
Balancing issues and horrendous matchmaking are harming the game. It's turning people away.
-
Yes I agree this is aggravating. A real pain in the bum with potential match-changing implications as it notifies the killer.
-
Meg: Crouches down like a sitting duck...just outside swinging distance...aaaaaaand she's off. Cloud of dust.
-
It's in the works, hopefully.
-
It must of been.
The survivors haven't got any offensive means except for pallets and at a push, flashlights.
They needed a way of slowing the killer's pursuit and giving the survivor a chance to escape.
Its like in Friday 13th: The Game, the cabin doors could be locked. This was done simply to slow the killer.

I agree, but let people enjoy things.
Of course.
Like a lot of those streamers enjoy Pop Vinyls ๐
-
How about this: None.
I dislike watching 'YouTubers' play DBD or any game for that matter.
I have never got my head around the attraction of watching some annoying berk play a game, whilst squealing, making silly baby voices, with interspersed animated meme gifs popping up on the screen.
It could be argued that players learn tactics from these individuals, but I think I would slip in to a coma if I had to sit through a 3 hour live stream whilst a seasoned Pop vinyl collector shouts, screams and says "Y'all!" every 5 minutes.
They get right up my ruddy nose.
-
Never watched it.

So you assume that if you went for hem you coudnโt even land a single smack all game?
No not necessarily.
I just found I was wasting time chasing them and was concerned about the gens popping. So I concentrated on that and it paid off.
I was going against an Object Of Obsession looper the other day on Red Forest, Mother's Dwelling. I knew I wasn't going to catch them, and would waste too much time attempting to. So I left them, eliminated the rest of the team, then ended the OoO looper.
I never feed the performing seals.
