So much mental gymnastics going on here by killer mains I don't even know where to begin.

My hot take: Most perks on both sides are perfectly usable, not trash. Situational perks, also, are not inherently trash, especially when their situation is under your control and not dependant on RNG. People just don't want to put any effort into using any specific perk (even when that effort is just picking different supporting perks and adjusting their overall playstyle), and want their perks to either be extremely strong to warrant any change in gameplay or to just work in the background.
It's not a divide of old vs new, either. Most chapters recently have had at least one genuinely good perk for its associated role.
Secondary hot take based on someone else's post:

You guys have got to let the whole "hockey" thing go. You misunderstood an analogy, it happens, take the L and stop trying to meme it into being a valid criticism somehow. Move on.
I think the whole "hockey" analogy has persisted for so long, is the same reason the "Pretty good job so far!" phrase has stuck around for so long.
To some people it is an example of BHVR being out of touch with their own game.
Which is another discussion in itself.

My logic was perks that have massively overpicked pick rates, which was WoO and MFT. You’re the one that wanted to throw in a pain res nerf because of “if survivors get nerfed, then killers should be nerfed too” spite.
Yes, when perks start getting near 30% pick rate, they should be nerfed, and both WoO and MFT were up there. But if you want to throw in other perks out of spite, then sure, let’s nerf them too.
Since you want to drag logic into this, let's go with that.
2/3 of the player base aren't even using the perk.
Hardly seems justified for a nerf.

Well like i said, their priorities depend on things we have no clue about and they don't really owe us a explanation about every single thing that happens behind the scenes
Actually they do.
Last I checked, the players financially support BHVR, not the other way around.

I'm not the only killer who is tired of seeing this broken OP perk. Thankfully, it's getting gutted soon. Then all Behaviour has to do is nerf For the People + Buckle Up combo then this game is balanced enough for killers to return and actually enjoy the game.
More goal post moving.
Never change forums.

For real, I've been having some trials in which I am putting a lot of pressure, like, 2 minutes into the match I've already hook 3 different survivors, and still 3 gens pop like magic. No, I don't have proof. I don't know how to record matches and I'm not sure I'm interested in recording them anyway, but yeah. Yesterday specifically I had a match in which they were being downed one after the other and still gens were being repaired nonstop.
What else do you want people to do?
Between the Devs nerfing every viable survivor perk in sight and killers non stop crying and throwing hissy fits about any thing that is half way decent, this is the end result.
"PRETTY GOOD JOB SO FAR"

Community can make a big difference, especially when it works together.
I feel "Stranger Things" was a collective success, not a community success. BHVR had always been trying to reaquire the license and it seems like their hard work paid off. We shouldn't be taking all the credit for that - that was a lot down to BHVR putting the work in. The community simply voiced they wanted it back and acted as a reminder.
You really shouldn't be posting things like this without any knowledge of what actually happened to facilitate its return.
My take is it had more to do with $$$ than anything else.
ST also returned to Fortnite, does that mean everyone should sing praises of Epic for it?

This.
MFT imo should be a perk that applies buffs (to\after) healing.
3% speed boost should be a completely different perk. Or should not be in the game at all.
Survivors holding W is strong enough even without 3%.
Did you hear that everyone?
Holding W Is strong enough. (Totally ignoring basic facts like killers are faster than survivors, and also there’s that pesky mechanic Bloodlust).

Well, to be clear, I don't really care about pickrate, I care about strength. So, most of the perks on your list there definitely don't qualify; Eruption and Circle of Healing, for instance, are still extremely good perks regardless of how many people actually run them.
For the rest, I'll cop to forgetting about Scavenger and Thana (I honestly forgot that Thana got changed after 6.1.0 to begin with), but the rest I don't think it's fair to say were killed. Prove wasn't good to begin with, Reassurance joins Eruption and CoH as extremely strong, Dead Hard is still decent, and CoB... I suppose you could count that as a perk that was 'killed' if you're really strict, but it's not like it's useless, just outclassed.
That's kinda why I ask. I keep seeing people say that, but there haven't really been any instances of perks being nuked outside of Thana and arguably Scavenger if you count PTB changes. Most of those perks are either still good, or weren't actually good to begin with in the case of Prove specifically. (Still weird it got nerfed, that change still doesn't make sense to me. Must be a rare case of nerfing solely based on feedback.)
It's the same with MFT, too. That one did get weakened more than some on this list, based on this dev update, but it's hardly looking to be useless. Just requires a little thought now instead of being passive and slapped into any build.
Extremely good?
Any perk that requires more than one person to even use can be hardly considered "extremely useful".

I don't understand, where are you going with this? Are you trying to teach me some manners in a video game's forum, and completely ignoring the point of it's topic?
Here, I double down it for you:
If I have a random teammate that have some sort off medical conditions that doesn't allow them to play against certain killer roster , thinking that they can safely leave because of that - It's IN MY (and my teammates) RIGHT to judge them the same way I'd judge any other or a healthy person.
If this person have health issues with certain killers and they know it, first and foremost, you should expect a punishment then. If you gonna give up on a hook because of that, not everyone will understand you, and thats ok.
You are playing this games at your own risk, a lot of games even warning the players about "Flashy stuff and etc...".
Medical issues WILL NEVER give you a permission to commit crimes. You will be treated the same as others in this regard.
Now if you excuse me, I know I've said that I'd love to see people's opinion on this thread, this your exact opinion touching a different road.
If you insist, we can continue in a private messages. Would you mind not arguing about it right there in this topic?
People killing them self on hook is a crime now? Do you hear yourself?
Don't bother responding,
I am done discussing this with you. Believe whatever you like.

You're saying to this doctor to check his entitlement and ego at the door as well? =)
You're not a doctor. And they're not your patient. And once again, its not your decision to make for someone else, just so they don't "ruin" your good time.

"Short of letting players avoid specific killers or removing the DC penalty, the only solution left is killing yourself on hook."
Sorry, but... If someone having some medical illness from Clown or Plague as you've said, that just simply means that this game in unhealthy for them and they should stop playing it.
The game can addapt to certain illnesses, I completely agree on that, just like we've had flashlight changes and cross with Clown.
The game can addapt, but players might not want to. Just because you have an unfortunate illness, doesn't mean that you have the right to ignore the game punishments, and be treated differently.
It may sound rude, but you can't make players to addapt to your personal needs.
Who are you to tell someone else that they shouldn't be playing the game due to a medical issue?
Check your entitlement and ego at the door.

Here is the story of the cutest and most heroic Leon I ever met:
So I start my first chase on Erye when I spot him standing in the middle of the main road at the farther end. True P0 rookie. He's staring at me like he was in Western duel. I'm curious what he wants, so I drop my chase and start walking straight towards him.
He's not budging, but immediately drops the flashbang at his feet. It blows up out of range (I never even knew it had a range). Leon doesn't falter - he whips out the flashlight, aiming at me menacingly. Naturally I turn away without slowing down and get my hit.
Of course he survived the trial. He even got a flashlight save later - I only had to strafe a bit to correct his aim. :]
People like you are good for the game.
90% of my matches are against sweat lords who immediately start hard tunneling and slugging everyone.

How are they not the same? They're both the most efficient way of playing the way in almost any situation and also incredibly unfun for the other side. Like I don't understand why one is fine and just 'playing the game' and the other one isn't.
Also, don't use the term gaslighting in such a way, it waters down a very serious term.
Mental Gymnastics: The act of trying to justify actions or validate opinions not supported by any facts. A means of dealing with cognitive dissonance.
-
@Krazzik said:
People don't really need to defend if they choose to tunnel. It's a part of the game and it's the most optimal way to play almost every killer on every map. Its usually not personal and most killers that tunnel do so because they want to play efficiently and give themselves the best chance to win. If survivors rush gens in order to do the same, it's no different.
Its not even close to the same, nice try with the gas lighting though.
-
It's pretty much hot trash trash now.
Killer mains calling it "survivor sided" is laughable.
Sure, it looks great aesthetically, but playing on it is miserable. It's worse in almost every conceivable way.
Pretty typical of BHVR map "reworks".

I don't want to restrain my self from speaking, just because I was playing with a kid, who should not even be in here in the first place.
I personally think that there should be a reason to report and block the account for that kid, if I see a kid playing a gory game.
If a child's parents don't give a sh about what their child playing or watching, their parent licence should be removed.
I would never let my kid watch or play something like DBD. It can harm a kid in a very disturbing way.
And btw, it's in everyone jurisdiction to report that to the developers and they should act with all seriousness.
I stand by what I said.
I am also not debating with you on a public forum about this.

I know, i know. I´m burrying my own grave with this statement. But to me, there is little skill and 0 mind games involved in running around the same piece of wood. So its simply not a good chase.
Survivors often say, that they love mind games, but then loop the same small tile without any view blockers ad nauseum. Killer can´t moonwalk or mind game or anything. Its just boring. Especially on slow killers.
More gross generalizations. Fun!

Want the truth or the sugar coated version that is constantly parroted on the forums?

Yeah, of course. That's why i win about 80-90% of games in sfw and about 70-80% of soloq if we count matches where everyone know how to play (if we pretend that mmr is working as intended).
Truth is game is pretty good balanced for average players, still super survivor sided on high level and killer sided on low level. Let me guess where you are, if you're so sure of what you're saying.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3564092#Comment_3564092
I agree, it's mostly common, no doubt. But survivors mindset is something extremely childish last time. I watched some streams while working on this week and 8/10 games survivors simply gave up at the beginning or middle of the game. And I went to play in this evening and in 4/8 games (for both sides) survivors gave up again. Tell me, has there ever been a time when killers gave up literally every second game if they didn't like something? Because I meet killers like this maybe once or twice a week.
Lol sure you do.
Talk is cheap.
-
The problem with Predator is he isn’t your typical “killer”.
They hunt for the love of it, not for evil intentions. In Alien VS Predator, Scar (the main Predator in the movie) saves the heroine multiple times, including impaling the Queen Xeno through the head with his spear at the end.
Not exactly the actions of an inherently evil creature.

There is a rather unknown Haddie perk called Residual Manifest. It ain't meta, but blinding the killer to gens, hooks and their own items is surprisingly disorienting and I am quite happy that no more people are running this perk. But nerfing such a low-pick, low-power perk or throwing a fit about it? Naah.
Are you seriously trying to compare Residual Manifest to Nightfall?
😆

@BigChapAlien21 said:
I see this argument all the time, especially with anti-loop Killers, and it very often feels like it's the lowest hanging fruit possible for someone to have a real reason on why they want something changed, regardless of if it needs any actual change at all.
Obviously there are times where it's a fair point due to a lack of interaction for both sides, such as the recently addressed facecamping. But, for the most part, the subjective nature of what makes something fun, unfun or boring makes the whole "this is boring" feel like a non-argument at best and a personal skill issue being deflected on the game design at worst.
DBD is a game with a TON of content. Not every piece of that content is going to cater to your personal list of what's fun, and that doesn't mean said content needs to be adjusted just so it does. It's better to focus balance discussions towards legitimate problems over what's "boring."
Not to rain on your parade or anything but DBD is a game. It’s supposed to be fun and interactive and yes, even entertaining.
Sadly, between the devs and this community it’s rarely any of those things anymore.
-
If there was something equivalent that survivors could do to killers (like obscure their vision) they would be throwing fits and demanding nerfs.
But since it’s the other way around, it’s totally fine as evidenced by all the mental gymnastics on display in this thread.
This community is insufferable.

It was explained to you before why the killer would still be near the hook.
* All Survivors who are not hooked, slugged, in chase, or dead are a threat. They all have the potential to work on gens, blind, pallet stun or body block The killer while they’re chasing someone else.
* You assume the Killer didn’t leave. Maybe they did and didn’t find anyone. Maybe the didn’t have any tracking perks and the teammates hid before he got to their generators. It’s stupid to waste time looking around when they could make their way back to the hook in hopes of chasing the potential unhooker or forcing a second hook stage or death. Like you recommended for killers to restrict their perk choice, survivors too can do the same and bring in perks to help them get away such an Off the Record and DS. Despite what people on the forum says, DS is still powerful in a capable players hands. Combine that with Head On and Flashbang and you can waste a lot of the killers time.
* Could be a Sabo/flashlight squad who are constantly hovering around the killer. I found lots of them to be impatient or overconfident and unhook in the killers face without giving them time to walk away. Why should the killer make the stupid decision and walk away from the hook and let the enemies reset? He shouldn’t, he should go after them.
*Killer could have hooked in a three gen. It’s stupid to leave.
* Survivors could have massively misplayed and given the killer two hooks right next to each other. It’s very stupid to leave when they could force two people to go into second stage or trade hooks.
In the end, it’s irrelevant and all you’re doing is shifting the blame from the survivors misplay to the killer. That is wrong. The killer already made an attempt to go after someone else. The unhooked survivor had an opportunity to find a safe space and have someone else heal them and instead chose to take aggro. They lose the right to complain about tunneling and dying and they definitely have no right to disparage the killer in endgame chat. Heck, even if they did camp and tunnel, no one deserves to be disparaged and insulted for playing a video game.
Mental Gymnastics 101.

60% is balanced. Just need to balance swf and soloQ closer. Killer is all alone so he deserves to win more when playing well. Survivors give up all the time so real kill rate would be maybe even below 50% still.
What kind of math did you take in school that 60% is balanced?
The amount of blatant gaslighting and mental gymnastics on these forums is mind numbing.
