I have no idea who that woman is, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if you didn't actually hear it from her and instead heard it from someone who intentionally mischaracterized her PoV. Even if you had, do you think those "thousands of supporters" represent the literal billions of LGBT and minorities combined?
No dog whistles in movies and TV shows. You're reading too much into it, is all. I do know of a certain group that uses dog whistles, though. They're the people I mentioned before. They also like to use false flag attacks and other stuff. Basically any time you hear them say that the people they hate are using this or that underhanded tactic, you can be sure it's projection.
Believe what you want. π€·ββοΈ

Fun fact: no they don't. The idea that LGBT people and minorities hate white cis males originated from white cis males you wouldn't want to associate with. People who either don't understand why an LGBT person might take a tinge of offense to someone else saying they should all be killed or do understand it and play the victim card anyway.
If you're not racist or homophobic or support people who are through inaction, nobody gives a #########.
Fun fact, my assumption didnt come from white cis males it came from people like Riley Dennis and her thousands of supporters screaming it every chance they get. Not to mention everyone else i see on social media and low key dog whistles i see in a lot of movies and tv shows these days.
Idc, its fine, it is what it is. Im not complaining. π€·ββοΈ

Have you considered that some of the people reading those hateful messages will be black or LGBT and that they donβt want to ignore it, they want it to be removed so they can just enjoy the stream? If the chat was getting spammed with hateful messages about white men, would you feel welcome participating, or would you feel insulted, alienated and annoyed?
I wouldnt care, and of course the devs should/would/did do something about it. My point is (again) you cant let people you dont know that dont know you dictate your feelings and your ability to enjoy something. Thats all.

It doesnβt change the fact that NOED punishes survivors for doing their objective and for the killer not doing his objective (hooking survivors) efficiently.
The survivors objective is to escape the trial. You know noed exists, if you didnt do bones knowing that then you werent doing your objective. Which is what its punishing you for.
-
@Rey_512 said:
I believe Adrenaline and Pop are perfectly okay. Both reward good gameplay from their respective sides: survivors for doing gens and killers for getting hooks.
NOED rewards bad gameplay (a punishing perk) - as in the killer gets a huge bonus for failing to protect gens. It could just be a speed boost WITHOUT giving Exposed status, but the speed boost would be greater and still permanent: 5/7/9%. OR... keep the same speed boost stats, but make it so Gate Progress regresses quickly when not being worked on (to prevent 99βing gates, which is a COMMON swf tactic).
DS is a bit more nuanced. There are many scummy players who tunnel off hook, so a perk like this is needed. But it could be changed to discourage βdumb, aggressiveβ plays while it is active. Working on a gen is fine, but going for unhooks is not. Maybe change it so if you get fully healed or perform an unhook action while it is active will cancel the perk for the remaining duration (unless you get hooked/unhooked again, then it reactivates like normal).
π€¦ββοΈ its not the killers job to stop people from doing gens. Its the killers job to sacrifice survivors to tge entity. Slowing their gen progressiin simply gives you enough time to do that.
This is why everyone is ######### up about NOED, you dont win when you finish the gens. You win when you leave, otgerwise hatch, keys wouldnt be a thing.

Aw man, I just had a similar experience last night.
Was a 4-man SWF, one of them had a Twitch address in his title. (Wasn't streaming, though) They were being obnoxious as hell, ran four flashlights, clicked and teabagged at every opportunity, but the streamer guy was the worst of all.
Very end of the game they're running for the exits and they all pause to get some more BM in and I hit the streamer. He was juuuuust an inch too far from the exit to crawl there in time and I hooked him for 3rd time.
Dude just lost his mind in post-game chat. "I let you get that kill! You're trash! You were lagging the whole game! I just felt bad for you! I gave you a pity kill!" and on and on. π€£
Couple days ago someone dcd early, so i was messing around and was going to let them go, but kate started clicking her damn flashlight over and over at me like an ######### and was standing about a foot to far from the exit and injured, i slapped her and carried her back to a hook, she died and yui could do nothing to stop it

If you havent moved from rank 10 then youre not depipping consistently. This meandms youre holding your own. This is a good thing friend, not a bad thing. Well i think removing the pallets slowly was the right move. If you had time to break that many pallets then the game went on for awhile. When it gets down to 1 or 2 gens if its still a massive struggle you can always revert to the tried and true basement. These teams are typically very altrustic so if you can get them to come to you then you can drag them into the mud.
A lot of it is playing the player. I had a guy (1 not 4 tbf) that was like this, he fell for 0 mind tricks. So i had to stop with the mindtricks and play him straight, when i switched tactics it threw him off and he made mistakes letting me down him.
At the end of the day though, as it currently stands, if a team is absokutely perfect you will lose, but thats very very rare.

Was funny as hell seeing this (or something similar?) run on Show's stream last night.
It looks absolutely fun as hell in a strong players hands. It's also probably a lot more fun when you have an observer watching survivors constantly regressing their own gens.
It was a fun build for sure. In order to make over charge work I had to do a much bigger hit and run playstyle. I broke off a lot of chases just to kick a gen then would go back at tge person or if someone else was closer chase them. There was one match i didnt get my first hook till 6 minutes in, but during that time they only got 1 gen done and i got rid of A LOT of pallets. Ended with a 3k, I think that was one of the 19 minute matches. I might actually try this play style more on different characters, but it works particularly well on doc because you always know where people are with this build.

Here's my 2 cents about giving survivor's a second objective! While I agree with your idea, it'll screw over solo survivor's. And not only that, I technically see it as a nerf to survivor (Please try to change my mind if you can), nerfing survivor's will make killer's like Trapper, Leatherface, and Clown stronger. But it will make killer's Nurse, Spirit, and Billy way too strong!
Its going to make the game harder, sure, but its supposed to be hard. Right now its just not for good survivors, even solo. And i normally play solo when i play survivor. Rarely do i feel like the killer outplayed me, usually when i lose its because I did something stupid or my team was potatoes.
We'll see what happens when they fix MM. Hopefully it takes into account not only your skill level in relation to the killers but also your skill level in relation to your teams.

Survivor wise, I have David, Ash and Bill.
Killer, I have Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Myers, Freddy, Legion, Deathslinger, Ghostface and Huntress.
The only killers I havent p3ed yet are deathslinger, billy, demo and huntress. I think huntress is next. Just finished spirit. I have all perks on trapper, fred and doc though a few others are getting close
David is the only survivor ive p3d.

SWF does boost mediocre survivors, I have first-hand experience with that. If it boosted me to rank 5 (so far), imagine what it does to players who're already very good at the game.
It does boost survivors, I agree with that. Im genuinely suprised at the number of potatos in reds these days
-
I genuinely believe the swf problem is overstated. And I have examples.
Both games were 4 mans. I played the same way in both games, they were back to back games in fact. 1 team did gens very efficiently, they split up and had gens done before I could pop my tier 3 twice. The other team did not do gens efficiently, they stayed grouped up and allowed me to be very effective with t3.
Its not swf, its the strategies they use and gen speeds. Swf doesnt need to be nerfed, gen speeds directly shouldnt be nerfed, the game needs secondary objectives.
The team I beat I was always going to beat because they played poorly. The team i lost to I had 0 chance to beat unless I basement camped AND they made the mistake of being overly altruistic. And there in lies the problem, to beat these teams you can only do so if they make mistakes.
Its not ranks, its not swf, its nothing being in between the survivors and doing gens except 1 killer who cant be in 4 places at once. Thats it.

Most killers dont have that luxury, its why freddy is so strong. he doesn't lose time after he commited for a single hit, after that single hit he can just teleport to a gen. With a normal killer and no sloppy even selfcare is better than what ppl account for because it takes like what...24 secs to heal yourself after you wasted the killers time for AT LEAST 20 seconds while you still have teammates?
Just as an aside, dont chase someone through 6 pallets. Believe when i tell you its a mistake I still make, even though i know better.

Well, looping certainly isn't an exploit anymore because they put loops in all their maps. I don't think that sort of camping is bad. I think face-camping is bad and NOED is great for face-campers. That's just like my opinion man
Im not saying it is considered an exploit now. My point is it used to be while camping has never been considered an exploit. Despite NOED, and camping, the game has continued growing. Like I mentioned, youre entitled to your opinion and you can play however you want to. But so can the face camping noeder and clearly hes not hindering the game as a whole.

Looping infinites is 100% an exploit. I dunno if I'd say they're comparable unless you're comparing infinites to camping. Most people don't 'camp' though. Staying around a hook because survivors around the hook is 100% fine. I agree with ruin, but I think DS should have a few other ways to turn off. Adrenaline is fine until every single person in the game has it lmao
When the game first released looping AT ALL was considered an exploit. Infinites always held that moniker.
Camping is not now nor has it ever been considered an exploit by the devs. And most people dont camp because its inefficient (and honestly kind of boring). But there are times in a match where it makes sense to do so. Just like looping makes sense, and ill give you an example.
I put someone on their 2nd hook. I go away, chase, hook someone else. Tge other dude is still on hook so i come back to check the hook. When i get tgere, theres nobody there and the survivor has maybe 15 20 seconds left. In this situation, camping that last little bit isnt a terrible call. Thats 1 less person working on gens. But it IS camping.

The devs also think adrenaline and DS are fine. You agree with everything the Devs think? I know it's growing. I just hate to see things that could hinder those numbers. Camping will always be in the game. I wouldn't compare it to looping though
I agree with the devs that adrenaline and ds are fine specifically. No I dont always agree with the devs, but I can usually explain why with actual justifications. Like nerfing ruin without also implementing changes to ease match speeds. That was a bad decision as so many at tge tine relied on it for a legit reason.
Camping and looping are both strategies employed to help their side meet their objective. 1 is inefficient and bad strategy, the other is efficient and good strategy. So yes, they are comparable. Its just in 2020 1 is frowned upon by the community and the other isnt.
And, just as an aside, only one of them has ever been considered an exploit by the devs (hint, its not camping).

I think camping is an issue when it can chase people away from the game. The game having an influx of new people is very important. I'm not gonna change my mind about NOED being unhealthy for the game. So, we can agree to disagree.
Camping and NOED are part of the game. Camping, like looping, always will be. Theres no changing either of those 2 things. It is what it is.
And thats fine, youre entitled to your opinion. It just seems the devs dont agree with you and the game is growing constantly and holding numbers sooo π€·ββοΈ

I'm not ignoring it. I think NOED is a problem because of campers using it and putting off the people that are just getting into the game. I already said I don't think it's great when playing normally. We clearly don't really disagree. I dunno why you think we do.
Because I dont think noeds a problem, so we dont agree. I also dont think camping is a problem, so we dont agree there either. Under the current system those new/newish survivors are still going to keep pipping past the guy that uses this specific strat and never changes. Theyll continue getting better, he wont.
Noed wasnt desingned to assist campers, its designed for end game builds. Nerfing it/removing it because some people play like ######### is a poor reason to do so. Just like nerfing DS because some survivors play like ######### while they have it is a bad idea.

Yeah it's not an automatic loss when all gens are done, but unless you run endgame builds you don't want gens popping. Also, I don't know if I'd run rancor with NOED. Seems pointless. Like I said, I think it's bad when people camp. I don't think it's great if you play like a normal person. They have time to do the bones in a normal game. In a game with a camper that camper is usually going to kill two people by camping.
And not pip. Why are you ignoring the pipping part? Thats very important...
-
@Kolonite said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1330405#Comment_1330405
I agree it's not viable. People don't camp to pip or get bp. They camp to ruin people's fun. They're seen in green ranks mostly from what I know. I main killer so obviously I don't experience it
Ok but if the people that do this every game get stuck in green (again just saying green for example) and you continue getting better, youll eventually be in the reds and almost never see it. I cant even tell you the last time i saw someone running this specific strat
-

True. It's still very powerful and tends to be used as a crutch for when things don't go your way
So?
To be clear I dont ever run it myself because I dont like the mindset, but i dont see a problem with someone using noed as insurance in case things dont go their way. They played the game with 3 perks and you didnt do bones. They gave up 25% of their build to run something that may not even activate, high risk high reward.

I explained a very specific scenario in which I camp, yes. If you think it's bad to camp when most or all survivors are vulturing around the hook, I don't know what to tell you.
NOED has had nothing but nerfs since launch. At some point, it becomes less about the perk and more about the players who won't counter it.
Accurate. There are scenarios where camping is justified, just like gen rush is justified as long as the game allows it

Yes I wenβt there to attempt the save. Thatβs what a good sportsman does rather than waiting for hatch. Than I realized there is no way I get them out so I narnia-teched her after luring her out.
And losing 3 gens during the first chase is not the survivors fault for doing their objective that the game spawned them right next to.
If 3 gens pop during 1st chase you need to expect that killer to get grimy. Its hard enough getting 12 hooks during the span of 5 gens. Getting 11 in 160 seconds is mathmatically impossible. It just is. Nobody is saying its the survivors fault, its also not the killers fault for using the tools at their disposale, like basement camping.
-
@Kolonite said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1330155#Comment_1330155
You can't say the same for those. No. NOED rewards you for losing all 5 gens. It rewards you for losing. Perks that give you information when a gen pops is fine. You'll likely lose a gen or two, but losing all 5 means you lost the game. The perks you listed don't reward you for losing. Name the perk that lets you jump off death hook at full health. None of the perks you're bringing up are anywhere near the power level of NOED. DS will rob you of a hook sometimes. Borrowed stops you from tunneling. Unbreakable is countered by just hooking them. Soul guard isn't even really good and unbreakable forces you to stay injured to get use.
"Losing 5 gens" does not equal "lost"
This is the issue, its the mindset of "well we finished all 5 gens so we won"
No, you dont win till you escape. Its why end game builds exist. NOED + Remember Me + Blood Warden + Rancor.
People need to get out of this mindset. I cant tell you the number of games where i killed the last 2 or 3 survivors after the gens were done WITHOUT noed.

In a regular game I agree. I think NOED is a waste of a perk slot. You really shouldn't get to the point where it would proc if you're playing well or not going against people who are amazing at the game and on comms. I just don't appreciate a perk being in the game that makes camping such a viable strat, man.
It depends on what you consider viable. Someone would need to do tge math but that strat im pretty sure isnt going to get you out of tge green ranks. Even if you 4k every single game (which you wont). I get its annoying, but I think how often you see it is blown WAY out of proportion.

I love it when i see someone running killer. Ill slap them and go chase someone else, confident theyre going to not do ######### for awhile

I've used self-care for as long as I can remember, specially when I pair it with Botany knowledge (my favorite perk in the game), and honestly, people say its a waste of time but thanks to that perk I've been prepared to help my teammates out whenever they need the help cause I can heal up quickly thanks to botany. If you think I should, what perk do you think I should replace it with? My current load-out is SC, Botany, Kindred (amazing atm, I get safe hooks 24/7 cause of it) and borrowed time.
If you need a healing perk I think inner strength is better, you should be breaking totems anyway.
That said, bond is better than those imo.
And the best is adrenaline. You should have a decent sense of where your teamates are and if not doesnt take to long to find one. I gave up on healing perks awhile ago and do fine most of the time. Thats not to say there are never situations where i didnt wish i had one of course.

I find it very inconvenient when the killer decides, and they do, to leave me on the ground for 4 minutes as a slug just because they can. There is no perk that can fix the dead space of 4 minutes. I'm sorry but slugging is bad manners and it is used very maliciously.
Im not going to say its never used maliciously, because im sure it happens, but most of the time if youre slugged its either the killer is trying to avoid ds or needs to build pressure on the map. Its not personal, neither is literal camping/tunneling.

I have never heard of perk tiers or grinding being a large issue in my soon to be four years of playing, lol.
Higher tier perks would be nice, but only on kyf at least for a long time after they get introduced, and maybe if they add game modes that could be one of them.
As for prestige rewards, maybe for what tier prestige you have, your teachables get upgraded to the next tier, so either tier 1 still has tier 1 perks and tier 3 gets tier 3 perks or tier 1 upgrades it to 2 and tier 2 gets the tier 3s and nothing changes at prestige 3. Another way, which is probably much easier to add in, is to just open up the perk slots without reaching a level, so tier 1 opens the second slot, and tier 3 opens all 4 slots instantly.
There actually is a reason to prestige too, you get better rarity items in the blood webs, like green and purple addons instead of brown and yellow and i believe it gets better depending on the prestige tier.
Also would love to see a prestige 4 that changes certain things like killer powers for the killers and maybe what items look like for survivors? It would not be the easiest thing to make but it would still be amazing to have skins and bloody variants of hillbilly's chainsaw or wraith's cloak/decloak sizzle thing.
Ok that's enough of that lmao
Ive been on tge forums a month and seen at least 3 threads on it. Tge grind is legit a problem at this point
