  • No samurai I think, we don't get audio of killers speaking unless they changed it. I think the chick lives to become empowered by the entity like the hag. The person spoke, so that put it off the table for me. Also, in the first teaser you see the girl I believe and you see her again. That it is a samurai and the girl is a survivor for the first blood related killer/survivor duo. But I'd say it's the girl.

So I just watched a video of LifesBiggestQuestions named: "What If The Teke Teke Fought The Slit Mouth Woman?" and you probably all know where i'm going to. What if the killer wasn't The Slit Mouth Woman like many people thought but Teke Teke. The backstory wouldn't be as fitting as the story of Kuchisake-Onna, but her appearence would be more fitting with the little animation about the new chapter where you hear the women getting hashed and slashed ALOT as that will make her be cut in half. I just wanted to throw that in.

But hey remember, it's just a speculation.
    A killer speculation!

    Thanks for reading ;)

The world will find out in 2 days lol

I think I am the clumsiest of killers in fact. Reviewing my recorded trials I kept feeling ashamed of all the mistakes done in loops, and survivors I totally failed to notice hidden in a corner of the screen. I tried to achieve rank 1 with Wraith because I love his aesthetics and gameplay, and didn't want to felt discouraged to just play with what I want to play instead of what is being perceived as the strongest.

Same here, I main freddy. I just found it funny you said your rank kind of like how doctors say, I'm  a doctor with a phd in this or that. That's all lol. Not saying you aren't skilled, as a dedicated wraith it takes a lot of patience. Proud of your skill meng.

You can make one of these threads too, instead of being salty that someone else is getting attention.

Lol not salty, waiting for the train just commenting, not saying he isn't skilled, saying rank doesnt determine skill from ranks 1-6 about.

  • Nurse isn't balanced, bruh what. Mechanics determine if balanced, not the learning curve
  • Could have some similarities to the geisha from identity v. Identity v clown, dbd clown. Geisha releases? Japanese themed chapter. Coincidence? I think not!
  • Doesnt have to be samurai, killers normally never have dialogue in any audio unless they broke that tradition. It could be the girl who survives, never take things at face value unless it's obvious.
  • Being visible while awake breaks the mythology

That rises the questions why then dont buff killers / nerf survivors in general in the same patch. anyway, im off playing monster hunter, good luck my fellow killer mains  They want to see what happens first. Maybe they have an emergency plan. Maybe we get a rushed DLC like last year. You mean like the leatherface BBQ emergency plan? Yeah maybe, but I hope that its not a perk which is the emergency plan, we already have too many mandatory perks Maybe the killer can also see every survivor affected by kindred. That would be fun!

Once again, it isnt broken since survivor cant see each other. I play killer a lot at high rank and don't see how seeing a killer near a hook is an issue if you don't camp? Seems like people just crying. If you aren't camping, this does not affect you. They said survivors seeing each other would be too much, did people freak out when they heard kindred or did they actually watch the stream?

Doesn´t matter if the killer stands 1 meter away or 50 meters. Survivors will still call it camping.

It's not about what they call it, its about the mechanic. If it reveals killers within ten meters, and you dont camp as on you leave the hook the aura doesn't stay. So you sound like someone complaining rather than looking at the mechanics for how effective it is. If it reveals your aura from let's say ten meters, but if you're not staying within ten meters, what is the issue.

Once again, people are acting like what they brought up is broken or game breaking, it isnt broken. This thing is in the mobile game already and isn't broken, people still get swept. This also helps people just buff killers and perks with gap being bridged. The mobile dbd has many in game communication features and literslly still has infinite loops and gens that takes much less time than dbd and people still sweep. An interesting thing to adopt is what they have in identity v, hitting someone vaulting results in a one hit down.

It is broken indeed when survivors can see each other, thats even stronger than coordination via voice comms (in that particular scenario)

Comparing DBD to a mobile game is just ridiculous, im not gonna comment on that one

I'm saying, we don't know what the balance is on the killer side, and the two games are actually comparable because the mechanics are damn there copy pasted from dbd with the devs consent. So yes, it is comparable. Did you play it? Probably not. We also don't know if it's the full kindred effect or what the balance would be on the killers side. Many people just complain instead of testing what's coming.

It´s not like we´ve had bad experiences with the devs in the past. Myers nerfs, Freddy, Wraith Cube, etc.
I really don´t think the devs have a killer buff prepared. Or they would have talked about it.

Just look at the last stream, where you can see the devs play their own game on low ranks. They think it´s balanced.

I understand, I'm speaking from gauging the mechanics, built in kindred helps them, but doesn't make it broken. As I said, you can still 4k, it doesnt reveal killer location unless they are camping. The issue is how fast gens are done, and they said they would like to experiment with other objectives for survivors which would be cool. Also, not all devs have the time to play so often because they deal with the game for their job. If I was a dev, I'd have my limit with this game cause that would involve eating and sleeping in the game. Some do play high rank, some play nurse, the devs have various levels just like we as players do. Also, they learned a lot since freddy, using ptbs to test and such. That much Can't be denied. All killers are being visited, two killers a patch it seems so it takes time. Killer mains love to complain and so do survivor mains to be honest. In top tier to be honest and in most viable matches I play in and spectate, matches rank 1-10, killer and survivor, kindred helps but doesn't have a negative impact unless the dude is camp baiting. They are going to get that save before death hook anyway, going to get gens done fast. Kindred is not the issue, looping is not the issue. The issue is survivors dont have many objectives unless the killer forces them which makes chases unrewarding to most killers who don't slug.
  • Ping helps, but not always
  • Master said:

DH is fine, the only problem is bad ping.... but you can lobbydodge, ya know

You seem to have little information on it, even the devs said it was latency. Regardless of ping, the killer recieves information from the survivors after the information they put out since killers are host. It's a server thing, not a ping thing.

Kindred just means don't camp, someone is still going for the save anyway, can still 4 man sweep. The issue is not any of this, the issue is how quick gens gets done which is here before and after kindred effect. People will still save and do gens quickly.

    That's my biggest concern.

Imagine how miserable killer will be waiting for the devs to balance out the kindred change.

It will be miserable for everyone. Killers won´t play because gens will be done faster and survivors won´t play because they sit in a lobby for 45+ minutes.

Well since there will be survivor sided chase buffs, several folks I know won't play killer. Heck, if it's bad enough I will stop playing for a bit. With shorter gen times what will happen to the killer ranks? I wonder if matchmaking will be the real problem with this new update as survivors completing gens fast ranks them up and causes killers to de-rank. Are non-nurse high ranks doomed?
These fears doesnt make sense since what shorter gen times? They said they aren't touching gen times. And survivor sided buffs how? After the clown patch the pallet stun registers late and they are fixing it, it created scenarios where killers are guaranteed a hit going through the pallet as the stun is delayed. The blood lust nerf doesn't have to go in as is, as they said. Just play ptb and let them see results. Killing blood lust is a horrible decision along with flashlights working at any phase during the chinese new year event. It was horrible. Buffing survivors in chase is horrible and devs shouldve learned and use math to see that if a survivor gets to blood lust 3 they need the boost because that's a long time in chase. That's 45 seconds, almost a gen just for one hit, possibly 2-3 gens done without ruin for a down. But killers freaking out over gens being done fast over a ptb kindred change that only effects camping killers than idk. More tools for survivors means they can give more tools to killers.
  • I can accept the change.

That said, the devs need to address other problems first. Namely, put an end to these strong loops survivors have.

If the devs just push this Kindred change through, killer will be in a difficult position. Because survivors will have the coordination they need to steam roll a lot of the killers.

How will the killer be in a bad position, does everyone ignore the fact that they said seeing each other would be a bit much and that for the kindred effect they are gonna show killers in range from a hook. It will only be an issue if a killer camps. If you dont camp, it wouldn't bother you. It isn't the full kindred effect.

They just are trying to figure out how to deal with her hoodie, if they make it part of the head or the body, but in the mean time to keep us satisfied they will bring out other cool clothes while they develop bunny Feng Min.
What time in the stream was this said?
Idk but he said it, the complication is making the hoodie one piece and not two pieces, a merged piece isn't in the store and it would take the slot of head and shirt gear

Kindred is probably one of the most underrated non-unique perks of Dead by Daylight.

It's effects can be viewed here: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Kindred
For those that have yet to experience it.

Now as we are aware the developers have announced adding Kindred as a default bonus to all survivors in the future. This begs the question, how much of Kindred survivors get?

I think since they want to buff solo players we'll all get Kindred 2 for free and the third tier killer aura will be worked into a separate perk entirely. What are your thoughts on this?
They already said seeing the killer next to the hook, not seeing each other

The traits that are good and bad right?

Yeah, some have really good traits and some negatives to balance, some have not too good or bad traits. They have that as well as a universal perk web.
  • He handles loops well, not as much as nurse cause she's nurse but second best in loops. Huntress has wonkey and has to be precise with her aim. Clown can throw a bottle and just stop it.
  • Clown actually could stop looping, bad clowns cant stop it, throw a bottle on one side over pallet and break the pallet. Loop broken.
The toss is an arc specifically as devs said to go over vaults and pallets as he is stronger when survivors try to loop him as he cuts them off.

Lol sorry I didnt really mean like they HAVE to look exactly like a human but you know that they have to have 2 arms 2 legs you know that kinda stuff. I think that's the basic model they're going for because theres no killer in game with spider limbs or crab arms. You get what I mean?

That perk would be rly "Left Behind" because you are prob last person so you need to escape, that would fit to that perk well and might see some play as well.

Uh I think killers would just rant about this being op.

I think it should be token based.

For every survivor that is killed or sacrificed, you get a token that inreases your repair speed by 4/5/6%
The idea would be, bill's perks are made to make up for a dead survivor.

Would be a cool thing to try in ptb to make sure it's not too strong. Seeing hatch and gauranteeing escape almost I'm not a fan of. Since there is a map to track anyway.
Seeing hatch will also encourage not saving others and just getting the minimum gens done.

Honestly it needs a rework. In Left 4 Dead Bill powered the generator so his friends could escape. I don't see why one of his perks should help him after everyone else is dead.
But increasing the speed when everyone is alive means it can be slapped on many builds and thus abused. Games end quickly as is, so anyone increasing gen speed? Nah lol. I get what you mean but that stops it from being broken, if it activates on hook everyone can run it and do all gens while someone is on hook. No need to save that guy.

You're making good points, but also backing me up at the same time with certain things you say: there are very harsh parts of the map that are brutal for the Huntress to get lead towards, even a seasoned Huntress can't out play someone who is desperate to hit a loop that is punishing. It's a lost cause in that chase, and oh what do you know, you wasted 20-30 seconds on them only to realise you haven't got the speed to get back to an area where survivors may be (even a close by area) and probably have few hatchets left. Every good killer has a set plan of how they want the gen shape to look like, but harsh loops and lack of speed punish her pressure on organised and intelligent survivors. Do you see my point?

And i'm yet to meet a survivor who thinks 30 seconds of blindness and 60 seconds of hemmorage hurt them in any way against Huntress. Exhaustion and Instadown are fierce, yeah, but chances are they'll have used their exhaustion perk prior to being hit with a hatchet (if it's sprint burst or they have recently been injured body blocking or something like that). Survivors on outskirts of the map (the Huntress' danger zone) usually pop those gens first against her since they know her speed at map coverage is lacking. And a solo gen takes 1 minute 20 seconds to complete without a great boost. Again leading me to feel the need for the buff. I have a feeling we'll not agree on this 😂 but man, if they did buff her, could you imagine how she would play like? Scary would be the word. Like the Hag is, like Nurse and Clown are etc
Huntress is easier to loop due to lower speed, and how a good survivor can fake for pallets and windows and can play around them. Her humming is directional, so survivors can hide or go to a safe spot ahead of time and be on a good side of a loop that renders winding up hatchets a detriment to her due to position and distance. She can never be as good as nurse unless she has insta hatchets and doesn't have the humming anymore. Most survivors top tier use sprint burst, so they are encouraged to move last minute so they don't position themselves for the huntress. She gets a lot of kills in those ranks due to survivors relying on sprint burst, not her ability.

Fck off with that identity v, all killers there look like #########, dead by daylight is game with great graphics, they wont add those jokes from identity

Dude, DbD graphics are below average. I love this game, but let's call a spade a spade. Some maps do look beautiful, but that's about it.

Word, also, a killer coming over from identity v obviously would look better than they did in the mobile game for obvious reasons.

Or more simple, if someone is hooked after the gates are powered, the gates will be blocked after they are open for 60 seconds. An "on hold feature" like adrenaline

Either/or I'll be fine with it. It's pretty stupid that you have to wait until the gates are open and then you can hook to keep them in. The game just doesn't explain that at all.

Word, too conditional and killed by swf

Getting the Identity V killer based off of Hastur would be a dream come true.

Tentacle monster, you know where this is going
  • He's free dlc, just go to dlcs right?
  • If you do Class Photo and Z Block he becomes way WAY more powerful. You find 1 person you find everyone. No one can hide from you ever, and if you use it to sleep multiple people at once then chase them on and off, you can literally just stand somewhere and they will mind game themselves into your claw. I do stuff like sleep people while standing at the window until JUST before they fall asleep. They won't use the window, they will probably go to the pallet but I'm already standing there waiting for them.

You have to mindgame with Freddy, and you can do some really REALLY bizarre mindgames. Like if you find someone hiding don't sleep them right away. Follow them a bit it will freak them out they keep hearing the lullaby. If you really want to scare them, and they have something like MYC on them, just swing right before you put them to sleep. They will panic while they transition and mess up, then you got them.

The problem is people try to play Freddy like a normal killer when he's not. His power is 100% mind games. If you don't mind game with Freddy, and just try to play him like a normal killer, yes he will suck. When you do stuff like approach a running gen, walk in a circle around it with your power (and loud foot steps) then kick the gen, that's what normal killers do. If you are Freddy just walk up somewhere and stand there, waiting. I guarantee an immersed UE survivor will pop up from somewhere. Got a corn map? Walk through the corn like you walked away then come ALL the way around without disturbing the corn. Survivors will think you are walking away, when you are not, and they will start moving. If you can catch 2 of them on a gen, don't sleep the one that goes to run first, sleep the other one and stand behind them until they get off. Make it look like you will chase, but then follow the other guy. The slept guy will be REALLY confused and waste time trying to mind game you thinking you are trying to get them, but you're not. The awake guy will be really confused why he still hears a lullaby, and may lead you to other survivors. Rinse repeat, once they are all asleep you can watch them, and if they do something you don't want (gen, totem, heal) just pressure them. You do it long enough they get anxious and make a mistake then you can chase for a hook.

No z block, a long time to see people so use the uncommon dress add on to considerably decrease skill check chance while you look for others.

Yeah because destroying a hex totem is hard enough as it is already, especially when it doesn't spawn right in front of you at the beginning of the round. Same thing with disarming the bear traps without the killer having bloody coil.

One, double post. Two, You must be insanely lucky, because I've literally never had a hex totem spawn that close or obviously for me. Regular totems, sometimes. And I run small game on half my builds, to help me find them.

and three, with his change, he's now able to hear the trap from space anywhere on the map, so that part is already a huge bonus for him. And this was partly RNG, but it was a smaller map (the gas station, I forgot the name), so he could literally cross the map and still get there in time to down the person before they broke it.

My issue isn't that he could protect it in general. My issue is that he was able to so completely protect it with a single trap. Doubly on such a small map.

I spawn by totems so many times, you must have the bad rng lol. Totems beside a generator or on a big hill. Pretty bad spot. The issue isn't protecting since it's literally one killer that can do that to that scale and that is a common totem spot. Seems more like salt. Games end so quick without ruin, so that is kind of needed.

Have an idea I want to circulate around the community. Replacing the black box with a ultra rare that continuously sleeps survivors every minute after they wake up or make it so the obsession suffers from this effect the time can change dependent on how powerful it is but it is an ultra rare it should be powerful.
Alternatively make it so the black box put this obsession in a permanent sleep no wake up. Is this enforcing tunneling yes but currently the black box is utterly useless.

But would the hook wake them up? Black box isnt worth the rarity, would be better if it gave a negative status to the obsession when asleep, like minus 5% movement speed. Nothing major needed since when used with dying light is actually really affective
  • Hard to make his power good without being op. If he can strike n not grab from invincible that would be interesting. Identity v has the ripper, similar and has much better power but isnt broken. Slowing down or affecting survivors would be op as that gives him control of self and others. Either your power augments you or harms killers.
In a chase anyway, increasing speed and slowing others and invisibility. Would be a lot.

I had a thought a while ago that everyone begins the trial in the dream world. Freddie can see their auras and they will rush to miss a skill check. This gives Freddy so much information and potentially a great start while still allowing people to have that little bit of time to escape when retransissioning into the dream world. Just a thought, I’m sure adjustments are to be made.

This sounds like a fantastic ultra rare add on forget the black box trash this is a good idea. But lets go a step further make it so survivors fall asleep every minute or whatever time frame sounds more balanced.

Black box is for finding obsession, the black box in the movie was pics of his obsession so it makes sense lore wise for it to be obsession only. If everyone is asleep, you can't differentiate obsession from non onsession so easily, classphoto goes hand in hand with blackbox to make it easier to find eveyone.

Devs are already thinking of making Kindred default for all survivors.

Yes, they are trying hard to kill their own game.

Dont confuse people, the kindred affect of seeing a killer near a hook. Not seeing each other.
