He's known for guarding or trapping, cause he's a trapper. Or, the trapper. If you do the math, game can end in six minutes or less and average chase is 1 to 1.5 minutes, not counting finding someone or finding a hook. Time is survivor sided hardcore. That's why this game is a casual game and not competitive, even if there are some competitive players. Game is difficult cause it needs to be, it is too easy. Unless you're dealing with a scrub team.Chrona said:There's one big assumption here: That I was playing SWF. Nope, solo.
I ended up being the distraction, while others broke it, but either way, my problem is less with the addon and his change, but with how he was completely able to block a large objective with a single trap. There's a reason he can't put traps right next to a generator, you know.
And frankly, working through ruin would be fine if it didn't do the whole "and now your progression is completely stopped for 3 seconds" bit. Really fun when you get 5 skillchecks in a row, and you end up back at 0% from 50%, with two people working on it

I disagree with most of what is suggested here. If I could pick one and only one buff for Freddy, it would be enhancing his vision. He's practically unable to see beyond 15-20 meters, and if survs got the funny idea to thicken the Mist, he is pretty much completely effin blind.
He's never gonna be a top tier killer nor do I think he should be, but he offers a very unique game style, much different from other killers. I relish the diversity of DbD; it would be nice to make him at least somewhat viable.EDIT: I just found a suggestion which would be sweet too: INCREASE skill check success zones greatly (an effect possibly modifiable with addons). That would be a necessary but not unbalancing change - survivors would still have a chance to wake up on their own, but not "for free".
What would increased skill check success zones change? Survivors spam space in order to wake up.

What am I doing weird lol. And not really as once again it will add some cool variety. This game gave characters an unofficial class type and if there was an official class type, it would not be so complicated. Identity v is super simple and has specific traits. It isn't that complicated to grasp. It would add some variety as killers have varying traits as well. That's just your opinion and this is just my opinion.Chrona said:@Dabrownman1812 said:

Just saying it would be cool if each character was more than just a skin. And the amount of survivors scene with selfcare is low compared to bbq or revealed through whispers anyway unless maybe nurse but more revealed through bbq on nurse anyway.Side note, you're doing something weird which makes your posts hard to quote.
My point is that killers are allowed to see the survivors because they ARE nothing but skins. And tiny powers like that would just make it needlessly complicated, honestly.

The point that it makes a medkit useless is ridiculous, it allows people to bring in toolboxes. I like how identity v handled this, self care is the character trait of one character alone. This made for variance as all characters had unique traits. One can vault quicker, one uses flashlights better etc. A character is more than just a skin.It makes a medkit useless? Do you remember the fact that medkits heal twice as fast as the perk, and with the perk, they go even further. It would be like saying sabotage (if it was more effective than it is now) is broken because it makes the toolbox useless.
And without teachable perks, the game would frankly be far less fun. Far less interesting builds, and far less progression overall. Seeing X survivor SUGGESTS that they very well might be running X Y or Z perk, but they could run any, which is the fun of it. Not to mention, that's the reason killers are allowed to see the survivors, and survivors aren't allowed to see the killer. The killer is locked to one power, so seeing the killer would give a massive advantage to survivors. Hence why it's alright for the killers to see the survivors: nothing is locked to X character.
-
D strike is crutch, we survivors have so many advantages unless it's a nurse lol. Rank isn't what it used to be, now some of my friends who can't keep a killer busy are in top 5 ranks. Just be the best player you can be and you will for sure make it there at top rank. @Eveline

That is the kind of nerf that takes a must-pick, and turns it into a never-pick. If I remember correctly, even the highest one heals at about half the speed of a common medkit. It's a very good perk, no argument. But I feel it is relatively balanced. I would say, at most, more frequent skillchecks, which would give survivors more of a chance to mess up, and end up notifying the killer.I feel like Self Care allows for more bodyblocking and toxic behavior from survivors since it's so versatile. Plus, no one grabs empathy and it has the largest aura read of any perk.
One, no, it's a very standard perk for solo players. Unlike SWF, you can't meet up with people, unless you get lucky. Secondly, there's no point in having a perk that does the same thing (but weaker) than an item. It would be like the sabotage perk. It's already slower, and has more skillchecks than using a toolkit (just like selfcare/medkit). The difference is that sabotage is unlimited, but slower and slightly more difficult, and the item is limited in nature. The changes here basically makes the perk into an item....that takes a perk slot. The entire purpose of it is to be unlimited. Doubly so when someone else could heal you at a faster speed, as a regular action.
And I run empathy when I play solo. It lets me know when the killer is chasing someone (after they get hit), and if they manage to get away but don't have healing, I can head to them.
You can meet up with people in solo play. A perk called bond helps with that. It's a Dwight teachable. Self Care is a crutch for a reason. People use it while they're getting chased to get another hit in. They use it when they can't find an ally or when they're by themselves in a pinch. It's quite strong, really. I would say that more frequent skill checks would counter Freddy even harder. Having a limit would be good. Like once or twice fully healed if that can even be implemented. Otherwise, incorporating stacks that the survivor can use to heal themselves could also work. If they stop the action, it gets rid of a stack as to discourage them from using it while looping.
This is true, but you know what I mean. I've played entire matches as a survivor without seeing another survivor. It happens.
Having a limit would make the perk objectively terrible. Why would I take a perk that is simply worse than an item? A yellow basic medkit would be objectively better if the limit was 2. Yes, if I die, I lose it, and it's weak to franklin's demise, but it would still be better. It would have more charges, and be faster.
Now, something that makes it go slower the more times you use it? That could be fair, and still maintain the integrity of the perk. For example, it starts at regular speed, but each time it is used to successfully heal, it gains a token. For each token it has, self heal takes 25% or something longer, capping at 4 tokens or so. This means that it is still very valuable, but it ends up taking a very long time if you take a lot of hits.
The ONLY reason to run self care over a medkit is because the perk is unlimited. Limit it, and it is functionally useless.
You would take a perk rather than an item to not waste the item. The perk being unlimited isn't the only reason. It's so that it doesn't get hit out of your hands with frankies or so that you don't lose a med kit from using it up or dying with it. I don't think it would be useless if it's limited.

TUNNELING
ISN'T
A
THINGIt's more commonly known as COMMON SENSE! Maybe he's chasing you because all the time because you're terrible at hiding and/or running, huh? You're the injured one, the others aren't, why would he go after them? You're closer to death on the hook! So why, WHY would he go after anyone else? Also, I nicked this example from someone a while back, it's a pretty neat example;
If there were two generators very near each other and one of them was 50% done and regressing, and the other generator is 0% done, which one would you work on?
If you said the 50% generator, congratulations, you "tunneled."Yes, because it's common sense to follow someone for five gens instead of switching targets. Tunneling is a thing whether you want to admit it or not. Killers will often overlook an easy hit and an easy kill to go after what they've been chasing the whole time. I've seen it done even without them being the obsession. What OP was referring to is more of an etiquette related to tunneling, though. You're facing people who are trying to gain points and have fun in the game. Not NPC generators to M1 and occasionally press Space bar on. While you may see it as 1 vs 4, the 4 of them aren't earning points as a unit. While someone farming or camping them affects their score, it isn't necessarily their fault. I've had killers camp and tunnel me, then thank me for not being toxic in the next screen over. You're also picking an easy target, which isn't a show of skill. It isn't impressive. I think killers need a buff to address a team better, but also a penalty for doing lazy behaviors (as it'd be rough to play survivors if there wasn't one; killers would tunnel and camp regardless).

You're about to tell me. that if i get chased all round, downed and hooked a few times and get face camped and i die because i'm the obessession, that im going to de-pip? Where is the fairness in that?As obsession, it's super important to not get caught. Especially if you're without an obsession perk. Avoid it if you can. If the killer has dying light or remember me, they'll often camp or tunnel the obsession. If you're not that great in a chase, learn. It's part of the game. Kate has a perk that will help you locate pallets and you can also watch tips and tricks videos. If you have friends in the game who are better at it than you, you can also ask them to help you learn the ropes in KYF. Alternatively, maybe look at your perks. Premonition and Spine Chill help if you're found right away too often. Urban Evasion will help you sneak away fast and sometimes killers don't notice things closer to the ground. Quick and Quiet is good for jumping through something and losing them if they happened to have broken eyesight with you. Iron Will will make you quiet when you're hurt and Bond will let you know where your friends are. I would say experiment until you find what helps you or what fits your play style.
I guess I can see where you're coming from, but I can't stand it when somebody screams about tunneling when all that happened was them getting hit immediately off the hook. You mentioned getting an easy hit/kill, and if you're by the hook or a few yards from the hook as Huntress, the person getting off the hook is the easiest person to hit.
Now, the killer following one person and one person only the whole round, I suppose that would be tunneling, though I've never encountered it myself so it would just be an in-theory thing, though I suppose if people are complaining about it I guess it does happen. It's similar to how I think camping is fine unless they do it when there's 2-5 generators and/or on first few hooks. It's just... dude, what are you doing, you're doing no one a favor, not even yourself. So I can see your point.
I just hate it when people yell at the killer after hitting someone who just got unhooked.
-
Something identity v does is have character traits specific to the characters, so be cool to see that.
-
Would be extremely strong in top level play and pretty much nullify killers aura reading perks. Assume killers have the meta, not everything should be handfisted and survivors should stay vigilant. It isnt impossible and just knowing the perks exist and if they are meta, assume they have the perks. It's not difficult. Also instear of looking at possible oh god killers see everything now! Look at the realistic actual build, bbq or bittermurmor, they take the same slot. If you have spine chill and they come for you after a gen is done or after someone is hooked you still have 36 meter difference and can act accordingly. Spine chill already lets you know. Healing in the radius and spine chill goes off? You already know.
-
The thing that people dont think about, is if you arent spotted, you have the bonus of getting more bonus and altruism points already, thats why chases gives more points. You can also literally get the same points by cleaning totems and being stealthy. I don't see what's wrong. Even for pips, you do not get points while the killer is chasing someone, only the chased person because you aren't stealthing, the killer just isn't looking for you and it increases your chance of getting lightbringer and unbroken while those in chase have a much greater chance of losing unbroken and lightbringer obviously for not doing a gen. So it balances out.

Few survivors of medium to high skill are bothered since they look at the whole screen and your character once again yells for "no reason". So plenty of signs. Different but that nice loud scream you should hear. You get audio and visual.Slaymore said:@TheLegendDyl4n1 said:

Hit for hit existed before clown patch when the vacuum was there, and now we still have a higher rate of exchanging hit for hit without vacuum in the upcoming patch. They meant to remove vacuum, not change the timing of the stun mechanic. It was the vacuum that was the issue, how it is, killer stuns are delayed.
-
Once again, a lot of people not getting why they are doing this, I give up on the killer whiners and survivor whiners lol. I dont think people who complain about this understand how pallet stun timing always worked and how the Clown patch killed it. Not talking bout the vacuum fix, the stun timing changed so killers who shouldn't get a hit gets the hit because the stun registers late. They aren't removing hit for hit, it will still be there. I play many killer matches and I got some hits I shouldnt have gotten because the stun time was wonkey. Everyone listens to some youtuber instead of looking at the data and primary source. The pallet stun is supposed to be mid to late animation like real physics. Now, it creates a situation where you hit the survivor, get stunned, and then warp to the other side of the pallet. This warp is only visible on the survivor side, not on the killer's side.
-
Lol, most killers gets looped so idk about the title. Freddy can juggle his targets due to his power, run enduring/bamboozle if it's an issue or late game sweep classphoto, remember me, noed if it's bad. Quick sleep bamboozle ia good too. Tag, then vault to block, strike.
-
On the rebuff of pallets, many people kind of miss the point. The timing of the stun made for unfair hits. The stun should happen mid to late animation but it only happens at the very end, causing some weird hits and killers getting stunned on the same side as the survivor. Them hitting you through everytime was a result of pallets not stunning at the right time. The stun should always be mid to late animation with no vacuum, but how it is now is no vacuum and after pallet drops. Think about it, the pallet falls on killer, so you should be affected before it is put down since it is hitting you. Physics n stuff.M4I3X said:@Global said:

Ptb once again, not gauranteed to go live. Of they see it doesn't work, they can lower the time it takes to reach blood lust. Nothing wrong with lowering the speed if they give it to you earlier, but they are attempting to have it without lowering the time it takes to stackm if a killer cant catch someone in 45 seconds and gets one hit, thats one or two gens done by survivors by the time the person is hooked. So I dont think blood lust was an issue. The only issue possibly was that it took a while to get blood lust. The ptb itself can have patches, ptb a and ptb b. Send video and info after ptb a so they can fix it for ptb b.

one thing I hate that they said this past DBD stream was that it was “Bad for both sides,” and that it was bad for survivors since it was so fast they couldn’t do anything almost and for killers, they had to wait that long to end the chase. What ticks me off is that they DIDNT CHANGE THE TIME VALUES ON THE PROPOSED CHANGED VALUES. They claim that it was bad for killers that they had to wait that long, but they make them wait the same time, and later saying that it was possible for them to shorten the time values, pretty much contradicting their own statement. Basically it’s just a way to nerf bloodlust and give in to the review bombs. No reason to do this, they’re reasoning for needing exhaustion was because if they got SB or something else again, the chase had “Gone on for too long,” which is what nerfing bloodlust will completely contradict.I know game reviews are important and all but come on the game has been out for 2 years, you got millions of dollars off it, and there is a new game by your company coming out. Why cant you just make the game balanced and say "[BAD WORD] the reviews".

None for killer so they dont get a free down. No exposed effect reveals survivors. That's how it works unless you run pinky finger with tattoo fingle but thats not the status effect revealing again. Furthermore, the Killer's terror radius is removed - and all killer detection perks stop working - until one of the two gates are finally opened. If the killer's gate is opened first, everyone is given 15/30/45 seconds of Exposed status (based on Rank). Additionally, at Rank 3 - if any unlit totems remain - a totem becomes lit and the Entity blocks both exits until the Totem is destroyed. If the safe gate is opened first, then absolutely nothing happens (even if the Survivors eventually open both gates).

Word, be cool to add more settings, a castle or a cherry blossom villa in the moonlight. Not disagreeing. The way it was phrased seemed like a complaint in favor of variety. Usa is iconic and the best in the world, no wonder. I'm not saying they can't add a geisha killer (please do devs thanks) or a samurai but the maps n such has variety. Even other countries copy American movies n such so yeah, usa is the gold standard in many ways. Usa and japan.

4 is so vague, removing the I found you cue would be enough. 1 unlike wraith and like trapper, killer items arent randomly generated during the game but before the load in wraith is himself not an item being randomized. 3 4 traps by default is better as the point is the pig wastes survivors time, not her own gain more. And infinite possible traps is bad. 15 seconds off of the 2:30 is cool I think

He was weak when he came out with a small radius, he is still weak. He's a tracking killer, supposed to be hard to hide from but weak in chase.Mercury said:@JEWberry said:
Freddy Needs:- Terror Radius Reduction
- Less Wake-Up interactions(Self-Care doesn't wake you up)
- Shorter Dream Transition Time
- Putting Someone in Dream Transition interrupts their current action
- Freddy can't get blinded by someone that is not in the Dream World(Not Needed, just something cool that could be nice for Freddy)
These changes imo would make Freddy tremendously better. I don't see the devs reworking Freddy's entire ability as that is a lot of work and is almost like coming up with an entirely different killer.
However, killers in general need buffs to combat the strength of survivors. These could be: Nerfing meta survivor perks, fixing pallet looping/map structure, and buffing the mid-low tier killers that need it(Trapper, Wraith, Freddy, Pig, and Hag).
The Devs did nerf pallet looping a little, but it is still a problem for most m1 killers that are forced to go through the loop and are punished for it. I hope more balance changes come soon as i am really hoping that the devs try new things and experiment in the ptb to see if it is really a good choice. Utilizing the PTB to test balance changes that they are unsure of is a step in the right direction and hopefully they continue this to make DBD a more fun game for both sides.
I dislike the idea of giving him less terror radius to make his aura reading more powerful. I simply don't like that about Freddy. I mean, we can give him less terror radius, but take away the aura reading. Instead we could go with something like: When you have been asleep for twenty five seconds without succesfully waking up you are exposed.
I'd see that as you fall deeper in his realm you are in even more danger and exposed to Freddy himself.

Thanato could use a buff since dying light keeps things at minus 25% permanently. 6, 10, 14, 18% per injured and permanent debuff for a dead survivor at -6
-
They do have to do something for perks or add more perks on a web, so many perks 6 perks per chapter
-
If brutal strength is up to 100% then maybe reset, but rebuild? No cause everyone will run it, and fix pallets literally bringing back infinites.thrawn3054 said:I'd say it's too powerful. Maybe a perk to reset dropped pallets that weren't broken? Probably also too powerful but might be okay. -
Also, if the survivor died then what? That would punish a killer doing his job.Dabrownman1812 said:
Obsession perks exist for a reason. Hex is an area spell so that makes sense to be environmentally linked.Boss said:...have them be on random Survivors.
Imagine you got a Hex Perk equipped.
At the start of the match the Hex is applied to a random Survivor, making them the thing you need to keep alive instead of keeping your Hex Totem up and standing. What will this do to the cursed Survivor? Well...nothing. No buffs, no nerfs, nothing.
But no one, not the Survivors nor the Killer, will know who the cursed Survivor is.
This is to not make the Killer single out a Survivor for that reason, nor will that incentivize Survivors to hand over the cursed Survivor.Once the cursed Survivor is dead, naturally, the Hex Perk will be disabled.
So, what about multiple Hex Perks?
Well, you can equip up to 4 Perks and there's 4 Survivors, so a Survivor cursed by Hex Perk #1 can't be cursed by Hex Perk #2.
(If someone disconnects (which the game CAN recognize, indicated by the different death icon), then the Hex WILL switch to another Survivor.
I did think: "What if someone with a curse disconnects and then the Hex Perk is permanently on instead?" but that's too much, they're supposed to be removable at all times.) -

The point of myc is not to give you a free kill, you have to search for the person. A killer player saying this, oh, this person is exposed. So let me go after this person, the 60 seconds allows the person to hide and enough for the killer to find them. Some killers with greater movement can take better advantage of this perk. Your character screams in pain when myc activates, just be more vigiliant. Exposed gives the individual player the status, this works for any exposed effect.TheLegendDyl4n1 said:@fuzzyhobo said:
Could you please add an animation or particle effect or something on a survivor with the Exposed effect from Make Your Choice so:
1. Killer knows who has it
2. Other (solo) survivors know who to protect
3. So it's easier to realize that you are exposed from that perk.Numerous times I've gotten exposed and never noticed because I was to immersed in the action. Who has time to read texts or status popups when a killer getting close?

i reads status updates easily and if other survivors see this they might body block you to take your item or so they dont die

I gotchu. If a killer learns another killer's teachable, it will be at rank 3 instead of rank 1 for other killers automatically. So the teachable will be the highest level for other killers.Chi said:@TheLegendDyl4n1 said:

Idk, I was thinking while getting my teachable on the Pig... Wouldn't it be nice if you could get the teachable at 3 if you unlock them for the other killers/survivors?So like you have a Pig with Make Your Choice 1, you unlock Make Your Choice as a teachable, and you get Make Your Choice 3 on the Pig because of it.
what? please explain better
How would I explain it better? I can't explain it any other way.

Lol swimsuit feng min? Trunks on my main man david. If the shirt had more oompf to it i wouldnt care. It didnt have the flair that david king's jacket had. The global event was cool too. The devs just trying something new and will receive feedback. A lot of people do like kate, that tattoo sleeve is serious. Everyone gets new cosmetics for each new chapter so be cool to see what comes up. They showed animal sweaters for feng min, we need those!TheLegendDyl4n1 said:@YankeeSan said:
I love how this event’s earnable survivor cosmetic is for a paid character, while the killers get a nice Hillbilly weapon. Like.We get it, y’all want more people to buy Diet T-Swift and ICP’s chloroforme adventure. But really? Really?? At least there were multiple characters for the year of the rooster shirt, and David’s jacket was neat but?? making one event winnable item completely free to the community and then making the other only visible on a paid DLC character was really ostracizing.
I’ve bought a couple DLC through Steam (forget Auric cells, they’re trash) and even saved up enough shards to get Ace in-game (I have 0 interest in Hag). But I shouldn’t have to be a completionist for a good gaming experience, and being a completionist shouldn’t involve mind-numbing amounts of grinding or fistfuls of cash to get one (1) level 1 character, much less a cosmetic.
Wishlist:
• Swim trunks for the shirtless Davids
• Lifeguard Claudette/Meg/Dwight?
• HAWAIIAN PRINT ACE W/ STRAW HAT
• actually Aloha Hag would be cool too 👀
• for Behavior to quit being cowards behind a paywall and Square UpHAHAHAHAHAHAAH I LOVE YOU MARRY ME PLEASE I LOVE A FUNNY PERSON and i want swimsuits for all the survivors (David being in spedos with a big buldge please im sorry im like this. but i agree i haven't got the new dlc yet but i feel all the cosmetics from the events should be a every survivor gets it item along with every killer getting the killer item to make it more fun and less money surrounded if i knew the new event would require Kate to use the shirt i would of saved iridescent shards for her instead of not thinking i needed her for now.

Dont lose any add on when 4k, op addons are normally very rare or ultra and makes more sense not to lose them
-
Thats the point of the achievement, where did they go? Because they didnt take the door but the hatch and you would need a key.TheHourMan said:
Interesting. There must be some kind of bug with that in my matches. At least when playing as surv. because if it was number of survivors still alive plus one, then a 4 man wouldn't be able to find the hatch until all 5 gens have been done, and there have been several times I marked it with the map while everyone was still alive and in the areaOrion said:@TheHourMan said:
Uhhh, the number of survivors plus one is the number of gens thay spawn in the map. I have had the hatch spawn when there were two gens completed (3 left) and one surv died. Multiple times actually. Consistantly. The hatch has always spawned for me after at least two gens have been completed and at least one survivor is no longer in play.
The hatch mechanics have been known for a very long time, almost since the release of the game. Unless there's a bug, what DocOctober said is how it's supposed to work.
