So where exactly is the logic to compare two completly different games?

If you read that damn thing you'd know!

To this day outside of I think 2 dropped internet DCs, I have never disconnected from a single match in DBD.

But getting Haddonfield offerings two times in a row while playing Blight and the first thing I see is OoO... That got me pretty close. I didn't do it because I don't want to start doing it for every little thing that doesn't go my way, but at some point I can see why so many do when there's no penalty. But don't do it at the start of the match on the first M1. I've seen plenty of survivors get hooked first and escape just fine. I know it feels like "I'm found the first time EVERY SINGLE MATCH" when you're playing solo queue sometimes, but that doesn't mean much by the end of the game.

Perfectly put my friend. The game can feel deeply frustrating sometimes, no matter whose to blame it falls upon players to deal with it in a match in a way that is self conscious of their other players. Shame more people can't be like you.

    Title.

I've seen a few content creators openly DC (or openly admitting to DC) in front of an audience, however, I haven't seen anyone say to their audience directly to start DCing though.

I know talking about content creators is a really touchy subject but this is just something that seems so irregular to me. It just seems a really bad thing to do even if you aren't promoting it because people will do what content creators do.

(obv don't name and shame k thanks)

Totally agree. No one should do it full stop. It's one of worst contributors to toxicity in the community and if you do dc you don't deserve to complain about toxicity when you yourself are part of the problem. Even if content do it but don't promote it, audiences will still copy their favourite hip and trendy content creator to be "cool" like them yknow.

Before we talk about where balance (skill wise)

Expanding the ranks and separating the number and color

    10-1 for each color

Reenabling MMR limits on MM (low ranks against low ranks- high ranks against ranks)

SWF's no longer can group up if colors don't match (Red ranks can group with other Red ranks... ETC)

After that we can start looking for misbalance

Yeah. I mean it's good and all us trying to think of solutions or whatever being a salty survivor or an annoyed killer but at the end of the day match making is bad for everyone. It's more then bad it's appalling. So first things first let's keep telling the devs we deserve a better system. I agree with your ideas swf should only be allowed between the same rank colour.

Ah I misworded that, I am fine with his zoning, it creates many 50/50 situations which is needed for a strong chase power. That's not objectively broken however as 50/50s are part of the game naturally in mindgames etc. As I said zoning =/= lose lose.

What I do want is people actually learning how to be efficient against him and understanding his limitations. You can avoid most lose lose situations and force 50/50s. Not everyone will like that but it's better than having the misconception that he is constantly lose lose similar to pyramid.

Objectively yes, changing him to have less chase and buffing him elsewhere is better, however, he is super fun to play, feels very rewarding and has a high skill ceiling. Plus changing him would ruin the killer for the people who have learned him down to the bone, learning every hole in shack, etc. Plus, he is barely played. It's putting effort into something that is going to happen every game.

You shouldn't always look at things objectively, because if we did, other killers would require a rework when it's really not necessary.

Nicely put. I feel this always happens when a killer has a different way of avoiding their ability rather than just holding the run button. He's completely destroyed by breaking line of sight and zigzaging. But I guess that's too hard?

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the PH changed or anything, but since when is not attempting "fun and wacky" maneuvers a sign of a bad player?

Since toxic morons said so. It's not like your able to play the game the way you want, that would be 'sillly'

    Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer

Slap this on a killer, particularly a high mobility one, and you got yourself the most boosted player you will ever see.

These players do not know what pressure is to save their life. You can feed their build and try to cleanse totems to get rid of their perks, or you can just get a gen high progressed and lead them away, go back to it when they leave you (because they will) and bam, the player is exposed as the bot they are. The fact this is a build to vs almost every game is ridiculous. The calibre of player skill level in dbd is utter garbage XD this builds proves it to be that way.

Well what can you do? People can use whatever perks they want. That's what intend to do. But tbh I hardly ever see this 'meta' you speak of. And you shouldn't have a go at people for the perks they use. The devs should be trying to make fresh changes to make meta a bit more exciting yeah but just think of all the survivors who use their version of the meta. Both killers and survivors do it. No point posting about one and not including the other makes you seem biased.

  • This killer is very very underwhelming. It's like the devs just don't know what there doing at times. He is probably the weakest killer in the game. I don't know what they were thinking with this chapter. I love the design but this combined with no map is kinda annoying. I know their revamping other maps but still compared to other dlc it just doesn't really compare. If ur gonna leave out a map at least give us a half decent not clunky killer. His power is high difficulty extremely low reward. It's so easily dodged. All they have to do is make the lethal rush attack more like the normal lunge.

I'm writing this post with a heavy heart due to the wave of dc's that have been plaguing our beloved game. From what I've gathered from in-game experience and reading this message board, the culprit seems to be a portion of the console base that are convinced that it is unfair that they are required to play against "superior" pc players. I'm here to tell you that you severely misunderstand the situation and your "protest disconnects" are only ruining the health of the game.

How can I say this you may ask? It's because I've been playing DBD on pc for 15 months now and . . . I've only ever used a CONTROLLER!!! Yes, I know this is sacrilege but frankly I don't care. I switched to pc gaming from consoles several years back because controller support had become so widely adopted. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's the best of both worlds really. You get the granular control over fps and such but you can sit back and relax with a controller in hand. I sit in a computer chair all day for work. I don't want to have to when playing games at home and that's why we live in a world with options.

Because of this I can tell you that, aside from framerates, pc players do not have an overall advantage over console players. I've only ever used a controller and I've managed to be able to learn how to loop killers well and escape as survivor. I've also managed to hold my own as a controller killer and secured many 4k's over pc survivors. I think too many console players have heard the phrase "pc master race" too many times and have taken it to heart when it was really a phrase born of a time when pc's and consoles were completely different beasts with very few overlapping titles.

I know this is a long post but my point is this recent wave of disconnects is not proving any point and only damaging the health of the game. You're just going to have to learn to adapt to some new playstyles. It's no different than having to learn to adapt when a new killer comes out or a killer is reworked which is something we all have to deal with every few months or so.

TL;DR: The playing field is more fair than you think, you just have adjust to different play styles. I can say this with confidence because I've only played on pc and never used m/k, only a controller. Please stop dc'ing. You're ruining the game experience for everyone.

I get where your coming from but your totally misdirecting your frustration. In fact I believe a lot of pc players believe dcing survivors must be mainly because they believe pc killers have an advantage on them which in fairness is true but not by much. I think the controller isn't at all the problem and disagree with you that That's why people dc from console. It's highly more likely that some people you've gone against dc because of the extremely bad fps brought by cross play. I play on console and before crossplay my fps wasn't great tbh I don't think anyone had that great of fps but since crossplay it is awful and appalling. Sometimes making playing against pc players literal impossible. This is why I said your directing your message at the wrong people. Yes it's bad to dc full stop but and I know this sounds like a beaten horse but if consoles which given the proper optimisation the devs keep promising us then I bet dcs would be at least half of what they are now. Your point that people dc because of going against pc players isn't really valid when crossplay can be turned off so I don't see a point to people playing against pc players to just dc instead of turning off crossplay. Yeah there's probably some people out there who do it but to come on here to complain isn't gonna solve anything. I think it be much more effective to direct this at the devs who are the only people who can help with this. If pc players joined console players in complaining to the devs about the optimisation issues on console then maybe they'd actually listen and do something about it. I feel that pc players just blame console players instead of looking to the devs to help. Dcs are always gonna be an issue on both sides and attacking each other ain't gonna solve it. By your post I can tell your smart so hopefully this makes some sense. I'm not excusing dcers but honestly I understand when people dc because of that. Console optimisation is something that would benefit everyone.

How do I make the game fun for you? Seriously. I love playing killer, and I've been diving into survivor just to learn how to play against good survivors, but I really want to know, what makes the game fun and challenging for you?

Obviously, no tunneling or slugging (but if I suspect you have DS, I aint going for you).

I play both sides and tbh I think it's different for everyone what makes a match fun. For survivors I think being able to mindgame killers is fun. But for killers some things are the same through all of them but some have unique things that make it fun or not fun to play against survivors as them. The obvious one for killers is not playing against swf. For me personally on xbox not receiving death threats or any other kind of insult after literally most matches would be nice. I don't know why but I see more hate messages after a match from survivors then killers but maybe that's just me. But I think some good sportsmanship would make games feel a lot better.

However while it is nice to do things to make games fun. Don't force people to do it. If someone doesn't play in a fun way for you don't message them saying what they did wrong.

  • @KrazyAce13 said:

So killers are forced to stay with who they choose once the lobby is found sooo.... why not the same for survivors? To me just seems like another biased limitation given to killers, and before anyone says something about killers powers, survivors that are played more often will most likely have more useful items (pretty much their “power”)so the quick change of survivors can potentially give them a big change on the outcome. For example a swf goes in and last second decides lets do a hatch play teammate a grab a key teammate b get the map or lets sabo squad this #########, or burn a map offering for haddonfield oh we need to change to so and so for that item/perk/offering... hey devs your bias is showing....

It's just how the devs are. It'll get changed eventually but probably in a few years. It is unfair for killers but it's just kinda how it's always been granted it use to be way worse it still ain't great.

I know this is a hot topic that surrounds characters like Slinger, but honestly his power usage comes at a great cost, which is that if he messes up, he has to reload.

To demonstrate, I was playing a match just now where I would have gone down in a dead zone had it not been for me reading his fake shot, AND then being quick at turning with his actual shot.

    https://media3.giphy.com/media/ekekCqx15mjMYebktE/giphy.gif

    https://media1.giphy.com/media/kz1DTAR2HsC89zR9ZI/giphy.gif

I am not saying in certain situations he isn't almost too strong, but I think much of the complaints come from how misunderstood his power is. I rarely play as him as killer, but even I know that you can still dodge hits even when there are no LoS blockers.

    This is just my opinion.

I think it's just cuz he's so good in chase if you're going up against a good death slinger. His power can just end chases in seconds if done right. And of your a God tier death slinger your basically never gonna loose a chase. But he has rubbish map pressure. Gens fly against him especially if survivors with half a brain spread out among gens. Therefore he isn't totally op. Survivors find not fun when they can't gain distance on a killer and beat the killer in chases. It's hard tho cuz without chase potential killers are just average or below which isn't good enough. Unless somthing big changes I don't see that changing anytime seen.

Personally I think it's less of a balance issue and more of stress level issue.

When Ruin got changed all those killers that used to roll survivors at 5 gens suddenly had no early game slowdown anymore which made everything feel faster and less forgiving as killer.

Before the Ruin change people would literally run around like headless chickens looking for Ruin so games as killer were much more chill.

As a matter of fact a good killer will still do fine at this moment. However even if you 4k chances are the stress level was way too high throughout the match resulting in a decrease of motivation despite the successful match. Without motivation people stick to playing around 5 killer games before they switch another game.

Meanwhile survivor mains play the game all day long since the worst case is they'll die quickly but that's no big deal as no one cares about a dead survivor in a 4v1 game. It's not like killer where you are in the spotlight during the match and you HAVE to endure the complete match - even if you lose.

The developers need to find a way to keep the current balance similar while decreasing the early game stress level for killers. At least that's my opinion.

I've been saying this for ages. The fact is playing killer is extremely stressful and most of the time it gets unfun. But no one focuses on the killers fun they only focus on survivors and making it easier to enjoy that gameplay. However I do think some killers are in desperate need of a buff as competing with the survivors meta is sometimes out right impossible with some killers. Hopefully this new Start game collapse objective will help balance and stress levels. Personally I think as a survivor main the old ruin was fine. It high risk (especially with those crap totem placements) high reward. In other words how a hex perk probably should be.

  • The devs are too scared to make dc penalties actually bad. Like a few mins off is nothing and only ever builds up if you do it in quick concession. Probably gonna get some hate but I think people who dc should just be banned. Yeah they'd have to make the system more accurate and not punish people who just have their internet disconnect mid match. I've had that give my a time penalty once. But yh if they could fix that then I don't see why they couldn't make the punishments harsh.

  • In my opinion you should just be able to use any perk you want without being "shamed". Yes so may be annoying to go against but it's just a game and the perks are the for you to use, so use them to your hearts content. I was honestly extremely disappointed in one of my favourite Youtubers using the phrase 'small pp' build for unbreakable, ds. It's childish and pathetic. We have enough toxicity in this community already we don't have to add shaming to that. I think if you feel it ok to tell someone they can't or can use such a perk your just an ass. Personally I don't use unbreakable cuz it's unreliable but if someone else does I'm not gonna message them and have a pop at them for using those perks no matter how annoying it is. Every match won't go your way. Just accept that. I do however think there is some changes to be made with ds, if they made it a little more of an anti tunneling perk then just a free min then it would be more balanced but again this isn't the player's fault it's the devs, you want someone to blame look to them.

  • I know you said hillbilly is finding his feet butttt his new add ons are trash. Especially the ultra rare that allows you to go through pallets but at the cost of the chainsaw becoming useless. That has to be the worst ultra rare add on in the game.

  • This community needs more survivors like you. I play both and I do notice that as killer you get a lot more toxic messages which happens in every game but especially this one. One time there was this really nice guy who gave me a compliment over xbox messages but I thought he was being sarcastic. Afterwards we both agreed that it's a very sad that I was that used toxicity that I couldn't even recognize a proper compliment. It's a shame the toxic side of community overshadows the positive side.

  • You said it yourself sometimes what survivors consider scummy tactics sometimes are the most viable tactics for the killer. Granted I don't agree with face camping unless it's at endgame or your camping a toxic survivor. But you're not even mentioning the many "scummy" tactics survivors use. The game isn't meant to be played by everyone to please you people can play how they want with different play styles or tactics. You can't come on here whining about it telling people what to do. Sadly you aren't going to enjoy every match but that's how dbd is. An unbalanced mess. Hopefully the new match making does something positive.

  • @EuphoricBliss35 said:

the Problem is: most people don’t know how to play killer. Seriously. Following someone for 80+ seconds to get one hook at the cost of 3 gens, for example, is not how you play killer. Even some killers with thousands of hours still don’t understand this

I think most killers do understand this actually. But continually leaving and giving up chases to patrol gens shows how bad some loops are for killers to a point you can't even do your main objective which is to hook survivors. The only way you can get an early down before 3 gens pop is if the survivor messes up. Most loops aren't able to be mindgamed therefore killers either have to eat the pallets or abandon the chase and hope you catch someone else in a bad spot. I don't ever see these issues being fixes however since the devs are so out of touch with what the game actually needs to be balanced.

So I just had a 3 player SwF, all running Object of Obsession bring an offering to go to Midwich Elementary School. From the moment they spawned they just ran around to stay on the opposite corner of the map to me the WHOLE match.

The random was the only person I could actively chase so they suicided very early after realising that their team were not playing the game properly. I had to run around in circles for about 15 minutes to get two of them to kill themselves on hook while the final guy got hatch.

They got really toxic because I was playing infinite tier 3 Myers (Which I was only playing to use up items before prestige) but had I not randomly done this: they would have wasted even more of my time.

I understand Survive with Friends can be advantageous and a lot of fun but when you & your friend's idea of "fun" is abusing a questionably designed map and a very broken perk to waste the time of other random players and actively ignoring standard objectives, I think they are going just a bit too far. Surely playing the game for the sole purpose of wasting people's time and making them angry should not be okay.

They just told me to keep crying, stop playing broken toxic killers, stop playing solo and get a life. Said that they couldn't be banned for just playing the game (though they arguably weren't).

After 1100+ hours in this game trust me, I'm almost used to people being very uncivil and absurdly hateful at times. But surely doing all of this must be some kind of bannable offense (Even if it is just temporary). It's really unhealthy for people to "play" like this and not have any form of consequences.

Your fun should NEVER be just trying to ruin other people's fun.

Do I report these players? Have they actually broken any rules set out by the developers? Clearly something needs to be done because as long as they keep getting Mary's Letter offerings they can keep doing this to people.

If they were holding the game hostage and if you have proof such as a recording or even a picture I'd say yeah report them. But sadly That's how this game is devs allow this and so much more to happen. But people will still defend it. Cuz they love using these toxic tactics.

No, its you actually who bring the community down. This is a good thing and that's why i said you are crying. You wanted better matchmaking? Well i guess this is the way to make it better. It should be like this. Killer is locked and that's it. If he's good with that killer he gets better team and vice versa.

So then why can't survivors be locked into their choice therefore stopping them from switching into characters that have flashlights or toolboxes therefore preventing the killer to switch to someone they have perks that can counter the items? I wouldn't mind if both were locked I'm but this seems like an oversight. As for me bringing this community down. I do like that it's getting changed but for something that has taken years to finally do I expect there to be no big oversights like this. I'm not 'crying' I'm simply suggesting something to make a decent change better and more balanced. Don't know how this brings the community down when you're the one saying people are 'crying' when there discussing and giving opinions. Feedback in other words. Your just acting toxic and like a 5 year old attacking people for trying to help the devs make the game better fairer. We can give our critiques and opinions when we want to and shouldn't expect to be name called for it, like seriously? I understand when a survivor complains about a killer being op when they have plenty of counter play can be like whining or as you put it 'crying' but the critique I and many other people are bringing up is valid. Survivors can bring in items without fear of Franklin's, lightborn etc. Because of the new system. The simple fix would be making it so survivors were locked in to.

  • @KRG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1463969#Comment_1463969

Isnt that the case now too? Survivors can do the same thing and what? You gonna change killer and its build in 2 secs? Yeah right.

You guys are searching every day for something to cry about. Sorry if i sound harsh but its the truth. And i mean that for both sides.

So now I'm 'crying' cuz I think that something isn't right about the game that's taken this long to change its rank system. If people didn't 'cry' as you put it we would still be at square one with god loops, huge maps, broken mechanics. I'm going to hold dbd devs accountable to the mistakes because I genuinely want this game to get better. But it isn't if we keep turning a blind eye to all the crap choices made by the devs. There doing good things now and when they do I'll praise them when they do dumb things I'll say something about it. It's not crying, I just want a fair balanced game. I'm so sick of people saying crap like oh stop crying, it's toxic people like that who bring this community down.

How is a 4 man quick switching last second to all flashlights fair? by quick switching last second you cannot put on lightborn or franklin's

It's what survivor mains and devs think is fair therefore it goes. This is yet another oversight by the devs or they simply don't care.

  • @KRG said:

You do realise that killers are different with different abilities and survivors are just skins?

About the items you can always change your build if you want to use franklins for example.

You guys need to stop with this whining thing im getting sick of it honestly.

You can't just put Franklin's on it. The whole point is survivors wait to the last second to switch to the character with annoying ass items so you don't have time too put counter perks or add ons. So now you can't even switch out to a different character who can more effectively deal with four flashlights, four toolboxes or op keys. I'd have a separate killer with franklins just in case but now they're removing that. Plus you might not even have those perks on that killer. Not everyone has every perk on every killer. So why is it so hard to understand that it would be more fair if survivors couldn't switch either?

  • Please tell me this isn't a joke. If you think myers and doc are op you need help.

    @DaFireSquirtle

When I write 50/50 balance it means 2k are fine and more are a win. But a lot of killer expect 4k every game and that’s the issue. They ask for survivor nerfs only they don’t get 4k in every single match!

For sure, the game has a lot of balancing issues (e.g. matchmaking, bugs) but tell me how often you get destroyed by a 4 man swf where you don’t hook and kill survivors? And how often you have 3 or 4k? This result should be round about 50-60%...

I‘m a rank 1 survivor and I have days where I don’t escape, but it’s fine. I have games where I can loop the killer very long or just a nice team where 3 or 4 survivor escape. I have games against very good killer which destroy the whole team in a few minutes... that’s fine too. Player just shouldn’t think they need to escape/4k always and that’s the point.

Well yes I agree people do need to get over losing as it's not only part of the whole gaming experience learning from your losses can help you get better in the future. My problem with your post is your excusing tone and saying things like crying killers are only asking for survivor nerfs when they don't get 4ks. Which only takes up a tiny minority of players. Plus the same is equally true to salty survivors who complain about how op something is instead of learning to play against it. Both sides have that and if you want people to agree with your opinion putting killer stop crying in your title completely insults half of the games players who play killer and are nice people and also makes you sound like a salty toxic survivor main when some of your points are actually valid. You need to way up both sides of the coin if you get what I'm saying.

Survivors in my opinion do still need some nerfs and changes here and there. That's how it's gonna be when survivors were ridiculously overpowered in the first place yes it's gonna take a lot of nerfs to make playing survivor harder but at the same time not making it too hard. Striking that balance hasn't happened yet. The game isn't fair at all. Gen rushing is still a major problem and to answer your earlier question when I do decide to play killer at rank 1 yeah most of the matches are against fully co coordinate 4 man swfs. And if you've ever played killer at rank 1 against that youd know it's the worst experience in the game. Not because I'm not good enough to play against them but because there is literally sometimes nothing you can do. Call people who slug or tunnel sweaty tryhards all you like if I could rely on a different tactic to get a four man after an exhausting match against a swf then slugging I would. But with hatch I can't. I'm not sacrificing all the hard work to let one get away from pure luck and no skill. That's why things like that happen. And believe me I know what it's like to be slugged and to slug. Both aren't fun but the game basically makes it required. Same with tunneling at times. We all hate being tunneled but if you're a killer with gens flying and you need to keep pressure on survivors and the only persons you see is the person just unhooked yeah tunneling as sucky as a move it is, it's actually quite viable in some situations and needed to keep up pressure and win. The game encourages this. Tbh I don't ever see these issues getting tackled despite the devs saying their gonna add a start game collapse sort of objective before gens which I think could help.

  • Well the game doesn't award a 2k well enough. You barely get to safety pip at rank 1 from a 2k. It's unfun for the killer just getting two kills being considered a win because it's not. The objective has never been get two kills and it's not rewarded. A win is basically a 3k. I don't care if the survivor gets the trapdoor because it's luck based. Nothing I can do to get a 4k if the survivor camps trap door. If I slug I get called a try hard slugger by salty survivor mains when the game literally awards you for doing so with a two pip. Killers aren't crying because they aren't getting four kills every match. That's such a toxic survivor view point. I play both equally and when I'm survivor it's usually as a 4 man swf and I feel sorry for the killer most of the time because there really isn't much a killer can do against it and that is the main problem with killers. I'm fine with losing a match against survivors if I did something wrong, if I know I could have done something better to get more kills or points but when I down a survivor in record time and 3 gens still pop at once it's like what can you actually do. The game is balanced in some parts but in others it's very very unbalanced. And I think the main issue is the rank system. It's straight trash. And anyone defending it is part of the issue. The system first of doesn't work most of the time. But another issue is that if you get a 2k as killer your very likely to de pip or just about safety pip. That is not a win. No matter what you say about it being 50/50 the game is anything but. 3k is at least a win. A 2k is more like a draw. The game awards a 3k/4k more like a win by giving more pips. Where as a survivor by escaping there awarded tons of bp and given pips. If it were more satisfying getting a 2k and more rewarded then it wouldn't be that big of an issue. But some killers aren't that good and they do deserve some buffs. Map design and layout are also issues for survivors but more blatant on the killers side. As for survivor nerfs. Whilst yes they are big they are needed. Such as to deal with gen speeds, map sizes and balance. It's a nerf to survivors for sure but the fact is it's because survivors where too strong. They're better now but to say the game is 50/50 is complete rubbish. It's gonna take awhile especially with how slow there devs are to fix or improve the game in ways the whole community wants but eventually after nerfs and buffs to both sides it will get their but at it's current state, gen rushing, map balance, survivor wait times, useless perks on both sides, bugs and glitches. Toxicity in the community. The whole rank system. The bloodweb grind. Legendary skins not being worth it. These are issues that plague the game. And judging by how long it took devs to remove most god loops, who knows when they'll be fixed.

  • Please tell me this a joke and not someones actual opinion. This may be the worst post on this forum I have ever seen in my life. If you honestly think the pig is in anyway op you need to just stop playing dbd straightaway because no amount of playing will make someone as bad as you good. Just omg..completely out of touch with real state of dbd.

    Then don't.

The problem is, you guys still play killer, so you are telling them this is okay.

I stopped playing as much as before, I max out at 2 hours (if any) per day, it's enough to remind me why I stopped playing because 9 out of 10 games I get sweaty SWF (yet SWF are apparently "not common") each with DH/SB, DS, Adren, BT, Unbreakable, etc.

And let's not forget the items and addons.

Same dude. I get more swfs then I do anything else. I can just about play two games before switching to survivor. Worst thing is people are still too stupid and defend the system. Nothing will change if try and justify it.

If more than 1 guy gets downed then the survivors are playing overly altruistic or the downed guy got downed near a door instead of sacrificing himself for the team/overestimating his ability to run away.

Heck even if you got 3 downs that's still not the amount of second chances survivors have over the course of a match.

Plus if survivors did totems like any half decent does then most likely the perk won't even get use where as second chance perks and survivor perks in general can't simply be disabled. I think they should add some sort of survivor hex perks or affect existing survivor perks in some way so killers actually can do something like survivors can.

You'd still have to admit though in a dead zone or open map like DD saloon He's gonna get more then one player if he knows what he's doing. Even if they run he'll catch up and recharge in no time. So no im not gonna say they deserve it.

Well they do if they can't make it so a single pallet or loop I mean even DD saloon you can get to a window or pallet in time especially since you can hear his chainsaw from across the map that gives you ample time to get to somewhere safe. If there all on a gen together then that's a risk you now run against bubba you're risking letting him get multiple downs. And you have to remember if a survivor just runs somewhere with a wall next to them or in a small area the bubba needs to be skillful to not hit the walls and cause a massive stun for him which gives your team time to recover and heal people off the floor. If he gets two down then he gets two downs. His been buffed and should be powerful compared to what he was. He isn't op. He's just gonna be harder to play against from now on.

I laughed at the idea of the devs suggesting making rank invisible. I said "great. That just means we won't see how bad were getting screwed". Maybe now it might not be such a bad idea. This cleary isn't getting fixed anytime soon.

They'll do anything if it means not putting in the work to make a new rank system. We ain't ever getting an update to it at this rate. Just praying they prove me wrong🤞

  • That's true their just doing the only objective they've got. They really need to change this in some way because it is just silly at this point.

  • Do you actually got tunnelers and campers at rank 1 cuz I don't. Maybe ur just unlucky with the killers you go against. But as for the problem with gen rushing, it's a problem because theres nothing the killer can do. If its something that happens because the killer has made a mistake then that's fine because the killer had a chance to stop it but didn't however with gen rushing I've had time where I down the first person in seconds and after hooking and walking to furthest gen to stop them 3 gens get popped at once. That's gen rushing, there's nothing the killer can do. It's even worse against swfs who are insanely coordinated. As for camping. If you've had a crap game and the end games started you've just about gotten one person on the hook then yeah can't blame me for camping. It's just camping whilst there are still gens that's silly because then if survivors are smart they'll just do gens. As for tunneling whilst it's a dick move if you've just had sat two gens pop at the same time, you've got no info about where others could be then tunneling becomes necessary to keep up pressure on gens and get someone out of the game. It's like a necessary evil in worst case scenarios. I play rank 1 killer and survivor and I only tunnel or camp if the person was really toxic like tbaging, flashlight clicking because it's attention seeking so there basically asking for it. The devs said there gonna add something to the start of the game before they can do gens sort of like a start game collapse so hopefully that fixes gen rushing and actually gives the killer a chance to stop gens and do their job at the same time. With genspeeds less of an issue we can focus on the other issues in the game like bugs etc. Sorry for the long reply.

Exactly thats why they nerfed ruin and not prove thyself

Because that would mean *gasp* more work for the survivors. But for real though they need to wake up and do something soon to fix the balance.

  • I liked the survey overall however I really didn't like the way their handling the que time issue. Or well they aren't there just offering more bp if they switch to the other side. Which I do like the idea of but I'd rather they just idk fix the rank system so solo que players like myself are paired with actual same rank survivors so the matches are more fun and fair. As for killer, I honestly feel there is a lack of killer players...I wonder why...maybe cuz the maps have way too many pallets and loops and gens go way to fast no matter the speed at which you down someone. Don't even get me started on the new map. It's the worst killer map by far in the game and it's like the devs learn nothing when we tell them ok so maybe don't do maps that are quite so big and survivor sided which I say loosely cuz it's kinda crap for both except decent players. Make the game more fun for killers and less tedious so more people play killer and shorten that survivor cue time. I know someone's gonna say gens are fine or whatever but i love playing survivor and it would be nice if I could get a match every few mins and not every 15 mins.

Holding instead of repetitive pressing is what is has to be. Let go from holding and you let go ingame

Holding down a button is way to easy. With skill checks you have to basically earn your right to stay alive and it makes it way more intense and scary. Plus it motivates players to get better at skill checks.

While i would love for that mechanic to be implemented wouldn't it be hard for rank 20 survivors?

Well they need to learn how to do the most basic thing in the game so I'd say that making skill checks happen instead of tedious button mashing would be a great incentive to make them learn to do skill checks. Gotta learn somehow

Yep pretty much this. Literally every killer match I play turns into a sweatfest that requires me to start injecting Adrenaline into my system just to keep up. And survivor. Jeez do not get me started on how many red rank idiots there are. How they even reached that rank is beyond me.

They just need to do a full overhaul of the rank system. It's a complete joke and doesn't need little changes they need to scrap the outdated system and do something completely different that awards skilled players who get to the higher ranks through skill and players who are still learning and are newer to the game play against or with people of their own level. That's literally what a skill based matchmaking should be.

I dont understand why NOED is a problem. You can just cleanse the totems

Oh no you don't understand. That would mean extra effort on the survivors part and if you refer to the survivors rule book for killers it clearly states killers must never use perks that makes the survivors have to work.

  • Cue times don't really bother me too much. Yeah I wish they were shorter but long wait times I can live with. What I can't. Is gen rushing and the lack of balancing. Swfs say what you like are a pain. Plain and simple. Unless you get a potatos or your just to goddamn good lol. But most swfs are too be honest completely broken and way too overpowered. Combine that with the sheer speed of gens and the stupid map designs that favour the survivors despite the fact the survivors are meant to be scared of the killer but let's be honest, what rank 1 survivor is genuinely scared when they have good loops, ds, dead hard, borrowed time, mettle of man, unbreakable. I play survivor in solo que and no matter how good I do whether or not I win is based on my teammates being also doing somewhat good or luck with the trapdoor. I think they should an option for killers to choose whether or not to match with swfs. Yes it could effect cue times but I don't think the devs are gonna nerf survivors any time soon unless they start listening to good community feedback. I know it sounds like I'm being negative but I just really want this game to become better.

I didn't make any claim about their profit, so what exactly am I supposed to provide proof of?

Again, I said nothing about my opinions on legendary skins or even the monetization in this thread, so I would appreciate it if you kept that in mind when replying to me.

I just gave my opinion. I'm not some business dude I was literally just making an assumption on how much I think they would be making based on player base and how many ways the do quite greedily try and make money. I love Ddb I'm a big horror fan but the game isn't gonna get anywhere near balanced or better if people constantly defend awful design ideas from devs and unbalanced things in a game that isn't balanced. I want this game to succeed because of it's good quality not because of the many greedy cash grabs it has going. You constantly hammering away for proof or whatever instead of listening to any of my other points isn't helpful in anyway and just shows a clear stubbornness. And earlier you mentioned you betting that there profits are low so if you believe that then surely you yourself should look for proof since you're so bothered about it and not the core issues with the game.

Not really? I just kinda found it whilst looking around yesterday. Just search dead by daylight 2017 profits into Google and I think that's the right figures. Sorry my minds a bit hazy from yesterday

You said that, yes. I'm waiting for a source for that statement. I could just as easily make the claim that they run at a loss. When you can do that, I'll blow your mind regarding legendary skins.

Star breeze.com. The publisher for dbd back in 2017. That's where I got that figure from. But back to the point I made originally. We shouldn't have to wait months or years for something that could have been fixed ages ago if the devs actually listened to us when we tell them. Matchmaking is broken. But if there track record with listening to the community is any indication it'll probably be 2023 by the time they fix it. We were complaining about god pallets and loops since the game started and look how long that took to get rid of some of them since they decided to make midwitch completely broken in terms of balance and still haven't fixed every maps size issue. It's like they've learnt nothing from previous map issues. They choose to get the license for silent hill so don't say they were probably restricted in terms of what they could have done.
