  • It's really Haddonfield again... Nooo!!

@DBDbuildsYT yh balance landing is horrible on this map there so may things they can jump off and speed away

also seems like there pallet or 3 around every corner

I agree, it's pallet after pallet.

Another map to support survivors, I'm really about to give up dbd

  • Too many pallets and too many balance landing spots

  • I had this impression since the ptb, too many pallets and too much balance landing, it's Haddonfield all over again

Due to my play style of trying to snowball and basically get everyone dead ASAP I generally safety pip even when I win, which makes me think my experiment might not happen.

Please don’t get your hopes up on it, if I don’t hit Rank 1 this go around then I probably won’t do the experiment. Plus using my chainsaw hurts my emblems slightly.

Rank up with another killer then switch to lf

They could simply say that after the entity has kidnapped Bill Denbrough as a survivor, it read his mind and found that pennywise was a Good idea.

We would get an entity based pennywise which mimics the original.

All in all we would have it in dbd anyway :)

My point was that if you are chasing someone, they are going to still be leaving scratch marks when you come out of your power. You shouldn't be able to "lose someone" when your power ends. That said, no I haven't played Legion because I don't own them. I would if I could, but I don't have the money for that right now and want to get all the perks I can from the shrine before I buy characters with my iridescent shards considering the cost is insane. I've faced Legions who have hit 3+ survivors multiple times in a match btw, in fact most I have faced have managed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/689590#Comment_689590

I am pretty sure I showed the math and the numbers. New Legion is still slightly faster. They may feel slower, but they are not. Not by much, sure, but they are still faster, even if it is very little. I don't think it was ever intended to be a straight buff though. After looking back, somehow the math I did is missing. I don't know how, as I was typing it out in the text box. Maybe I deleted it because it was too much information, but I thought I kept it there specifically so no one could be all "bologna! Your math is wrong!". It has to be in one of my messages somewhere...Either way, if you've done the math yourself then you can realize that if Legion is using their power AT EVERY moment they can, they are AT LEAST the same speed, with Legion being slightly faster. Legion however will not use their power AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY, making the base speed increase a bigger buff than you'd think.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/689758#Comment_689758

What does it matter if I play them or not? The only thing I have mentioned are facts, not opinions. If I could play them, I would, but I can't. Legion is NOT slower, and the devs said(which was the original thing I said, which got so many people to argue with me), that if he kept both his old FF speed AND his new base speed, he would be able to traverse the map far too quickly. If people want Deep Wounds gone and only want his movement speed as his power, they for SURE cannot increase his speed, his current speed even may be too fast, because he will just down someone extremely quickly as he does not have to wipe his blade in FF, and moves faster than any other killer except for CLOAKED Wraith by a 1% difference. Do you know how fast cloaked Wraith moves? Fast enough to go between two doors on the opposite sides of the map and catch the last survivor EASILY after closing the hatch. Think of Deep Wounds as a limiter on Legion as well as a stall tactic. I can't imagine Legion NOT having it, because it would make them far too powerful.

You have stated theory, and theory doesn't make legion viable.

You can be viable IN SPITE of legion, if you are extremely good but legion is an indefensible pile of trash.

Show us any video evidence of it being viable or your opinions don't really matter

At some point Legion will be out of their power during a chase. I would assume this is when you actually start becoming lethal. While you have multiple people injured, you have one who will be downed. I feel like it's a good tradeoff as you're taking away more health states in one chase than you would normally under most circumstances. As for the negatives to Legion's power, with certain addons/perks you can see every survivor on the map, basically knowing what they're doing. It can be a map-wide BBQ without requiring a down. I would treat Legion as an information based killer, with stall potential, rather than a killer who is meant to down people with their power. While this may not be what's fun to people, I feel like this is what they were going for with Legion. Mending isn't really fun as a survivor, no, but Legion needs something other than "increased speed". I don't feel like removing Deep Wounds while keeping Legion's increased speed would be fair to survivors, if Legion was allowed to keep it after hitting someone, because then they would just be able to chase someone and down them super quick, while even vaulting pallets(and breaking while vaulting with button). Killers are already much faster than survivors, and then you factor in bloodlust, I don't think we need a killer who can chase someone and down them that quickly. Also keep in mind Legion when in FF does not need to wipe his blade, unlike other killers. It would just be too strong.

The only way I would suggest keeping Legion's current base speed, and reverting his FF speed(which is what most people want and do not think would be overpowered), would be again, if he was forced to stay in his power until it ended, rather than be able to end it on his own/missing attacks. This at the very least would force him to search for other targets after hitting the one, or wait out a 10 second timer and then a 4 second stun if he wants to completely ignore it after the first hit and continue chasing the one survivor. 4.6 base MS with 5.28 FF speed would be just too much to be able to use it, then cancel your power once you were right on their ass, and then catch up to them almost instantly afterwards.

Overall though, my argument was never about his lethality, him being OP, or anything. My argument was simply that overall, Legion's movement speed is the same or better(in most cases better, only the same/VERY SLIGHTLY better if Legion was using their power every second it was up). Legion only FEELS slower, because the gap between their base movement speed and FF movement speed was lessened, in addition to their FF movement speed being lowered. It makes you feel slower, when you're really not.

I could try to come up with ways where Legion could just not have DW and be fast, but I don't think it would be balanced in any form. Legion needs some form of limiter if they're going to move fast. 5.0 movement speed is already 125% movement speed. That's way too strong for not having some limit. Wraith has to be in a non combative state for that kind of move speed.

    Oh and cute kitty.

This guy does NOT play legion at all, plain and simple

Look at the big problem of the game and the devs don't realize it is that:

The killer performs a persecution of 1 survivor while the other 3 are repairing generators, this implies a great waste of time and in less than 1-2 minutes they repaired 2-3 gens, something fails.

While the devs say that this does not usually happen and that the survivors usually break totems, do altruism actions, open chests, it seems to me that I don't know where the game balanced but they are a little blind ...

You are precisely right, the devs are ignoring the fact that you CANNOT balance chases in onevsone when the other 3/4 of the team is repairing gens.

And thus huge issue is only kept at bay a bit by ruin, but the game should never be balanced around the fact that one perk may make or break the game.

I am no Monto, in looping but I can easily waste 60 seconds to any non nurse / spirit killer in any maps where I can see the killer at all times.

This is clearly wrong as it allows my three team mates to almost finish one gen each, total of three gens and it does happen a lot

I really, really suggest that you start watching good killer streamers or that you start playing killer on a regular basis.

Unfortunately Mochan is a lost cause, the bias in him/her is too much

  • @Mochan said:

    Gens are fine.

Killers keep pretending they are marginalized third class citizens, but the horrifying truth is that we've been getting three years of major buffs and changes hugely in favor of killers so that it isn't unfair to them like it was back in 2016, and you still get tons of killers here bragging about how easily they get to Rank 1 every reset without even trying.

Check the "do you care about rank" thread currently on the first page if you don't believe me.

    Gens are fine.

If the best survivors are out playing you, deal with it. It happens. So what if the devs are rank 20s who balance around where the mass of players are playing? Well done!

    This isn't an esport.

If the game needs anything, it needs to nerf looping further so that chases are easier for killers BUT additional survivor options to survive by stealthing and juking should be enabled.

Your post doesn't address anything, killer git buffed but they are still inferior to survivors when comparing equal skill levels.

This is mostly due to how much time a killer can waste in a chase due to unbalanced map design.

Only killers with the possibility of ending chases fast are really consistently viable.

The only variable is when the killer player out skills the survivors, see oh tofu who mostly outlays everybody.

But it's a rare case, on equal footing survivors are too strong and chases need to end faster.

I only agree when you speak about kine of sight blockers and juking for survivors. That's absolutely needed, but it needs to be done in a fair way : you build a structure which makes the survivor able to hide, you do NOT hinder the killer sight with corn and grass.

Empower the survivor stealth without nerfing the killer sight

  • It should but on a equal level of skill in dbd survivors, good ones, are in an advantageous situation

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Gen times don’t need to be longer.

Chase times need to be shorter.

    • a slight increase to base m/s, especially for killers that don’t have a mobility power.
    • A reduction in the volume of ways survivors can gain little speed boosts, and a reduction in the volume of ways survivors are able to create distance in a chase.

The problem is the ways In which survivors (for all dbd related intents and purposes) can make chases last forever.

    @Mister_Holdout said:

If the devs spent some time and reworked the maps with over-powered loops, then killers might actually stand a chance against optimal survivors. Meaning, killers would have greater control over chases, thus, allowing them to keep pressure on survivors.

This and this, perfect understanding of the issue.

The problem is that the devs are balancing chases in 1 vs 1, giving a single survivor counterplay. Which is wrong in a 4 vs 1 game.

You can't have a single survivor versing the killer for too long, that's a design mistake

The quality of life for killers has improved significantly in those 3 years too.

Gens were much faster as well.

In old DbD you could have 4 gens done in 15 seconds by going to a gen and tapping them with 4 bnps.

You could get looped forever every vault was a fast vault, animations across the board for killers was slower, survivor perks were better like 20 second sprint burst with running not stopping the timer...

Double pallets, pallet vacuuming, old ds, perk heals faster than than a killers blade wipe animation.

3 years? Yeah 3 years of major improvement in every way for Killers and gens.

Things have improved but they are far from balanced.

Since the beginning survivors were in any way better than killers, now the gap is smaller but it's still there.

The truth in dbd is that, unless you use a viable killer, you can only best survivors in two circumstances (at high ranks)

    - survivors make mistakes and they don't push their objectives

    - your skill level is superior to the survivor team skill level

Any other scenarios, unless dumb luck, has survivors in an advantageous position and the devs are clearly afraid of flipping the script and balance the game

I do not have videos. I will concede the point that I can not prove the viability. I want to add that I feel it is unfair to expect a single user to prove the strength of a killer on the spot, as the most immediate way I can think of would be a large quantity of videos as there are no killer-specific stats available. That however is one me as I was the one making the claim that Legion is viable.

There is however an indication that supports my argument:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/684934#Comment_684934

We're still watching data on them, and will make further adjustments if we feel it is necessary.

This implies that the developers have been monitoring Legion and do not feel an immediate need to make changes but rather only in the future. As the nature of those changes is not known it does not make sense to speculate what is going to be changed exactly.

And please feel free to address the numerous other arguments I have made that you have conveniently ignored to instead go for personal attacks.

There's no need to address any arguments if you don't know precisely the experience of playing legion at high ranks.

Legion doesn't work, their power is completely useless, survivors can repair gens in your face when they have deep wound knowing that they will have a 4 seconds stun to run away, that's basically a free ds since ds loses 0.7 seconds of the animation so it's 4.3 vs 4 seconds. Nothing works on legion, a non lethal power combined with a slow vault.

Mending is a stupid mechanic, nobody likes to mend, it is a useless exercise in wasting time for nothing.

Legion needs to be rebuilt from scratch, and nobody who tries legion at high ranks can succeed with the killer consistently because legion is worse than trapper and probably even worse than wraith.

It's a pile of garbage and unless you can can prove your point with data, all the theory of the world won't help this argument.

Not I trust the devs data, since in their opinion it was OK to render legion a pile of junk.

These devs have shown time and time again to not understand high level play.

Because they simply do not play the game at high ranks.

Winning with legion at high ranks is not a merit, is simply survivors playing like potatoes.

This killer is utterly indefensible and I don't know about your job, but in most jobs if you fix something and you break it, you are expected to fix it again and not wait until its gone rotten.

  • @Madjura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/686567#Comment_686567

Yeah, until purple ranks. When you are about to hit the 3rd survivor, the 1st already mended because he saw you running to the other 2, no big brain needed.

And now you have three wounded survivors instead of three healthy survivors, in a short amount of time.

The original gamplay fantasy is a fast stabbing and agile killer that hits multiple people in a short duration. As you can see there is no fast stabbing or agile involved with the new legion.

    That is all still there.

And he is not effective at hitting multiple survivors tho.

    He is.

That just happens when survivors are extremely close to each other, don't know how legion works and are blind/deaf to not hear a terror radius and see him coming.

Bigger terror radius means it's easier to find people. The distance you can cover with the current version is the same or even bigger than with the old one. For you to be unable to hit multiple survivors with your power requires all survivors to run in different directions, and while they are doing this they are not on gens which is also good.

You scroll through the forum and you can see people that stopped playing legion or quitted the game because he is very unfun to play, it's not just his opinion. A character MUST be fun to play as primarily, then you see if he is fun to play against.

If the only way those people can have fun is by playing something that makes every other player miserable because of how uninteractive and monotone it is then the game is better off without them. Emphasis on "THE ONLY WAY". I am not talking about people who think old Legion was fun, I am talking about people who can LITERALLY only have fun in the game by playing old Legion and only those people. The old gameplay was not healthy for the game and had to go. Players who can only have fun at the expense of other players are not something any online game needs.

There were also a lot more people saying that Legion is not fun to play against than there are saying that the current version is not fun.

    Yes, it's very viable feedback.

No, it's really not. Removing a perfectly fine power from the game and replacing it with something new is a colossal waste of development time. It makes much more sense to keep current Legion and give whatever new power people think they should have to a new killer.

Old Legion had to go because the power was unhealthy for the game. Old Freddy had to go for the same reason. New Legion does not have that problem and replacing the power makes no sense.

This is really a message from someone who doesn't play legion at all

  • @Talmeer said:

I have my doubts, that we will ever again see a big Legion patch as we have seen it in the past.

But I bet what we might will see are some changes that prior 1 or 2 specific things depending the Legion, or that they undone parts of the Legion patch (like the frenzy speed and vault speed).

Just because that would be faster to made as to do a second rework patch.

What myself matters, so don't worry, I will get anyways more and more silent with the time (I'm writing already less).

I had promise some friends to hold them up to date* what the Legion matters in the days back then, but oh boy... I never thought in this days, that it would take so much time to see some changes by the Legion - even were she is at a place where everybody can see that the Legion struggles with some serious problems.

Also my own patience is running thinner and thinner. I am still interested in the Legion and with it - dbd, but I don't know how long I can hold up that interesd, even with something like a promise to friends in the background.

So, tl:dr, then this interest is gone, I am also and I bet then are some guys real happy :).

Edit: They had leave like me on the Legion patchday dbd, I just said to them that I say them when they have finally undone some things, so that they might come back.

Eh I agree with your loss of interest, unfortunately the old legion wronged survivors and survivors hold the power in dbd.

One killer, who was easy to beat by gen rushing, dared to xhallenge their looping game and they lobbied until legion was no more.

The only hope is for legion to move away from that type of fame and fly under the radar as an average mid tier killer, then we can have something which won't be lobbied into the pile of trash that we have atm.

Any good legion would be lobbied once again.

Killers opinions do not really count

  • @Talmeer said:

The old Legion would be fine, if they had fix the exploits and if they had not give the Legion such powerfull addons.

Imo a big part of the old Legion addons were made to outwight the weaknesses of the old Legion. Sadly that had fire back badly, since they were a primary reason why survivors were and some are still, upset about the old Legion.

Also at least for some Legion mains they were too strong. I as example had never fun with them. The 1 time I had use Franks Mixtape for testing purposes, I had just sit there and thought "when gets the frenzy finally over?". A special abilitie feels not as a special abilitie if she had a feeled duration of 3 hours (I'm exaggerate, but I guess everyone gets what I am trying to say here).

I would also bet with everyone, that we would see not many real nerf threads* about the Legion, if bhvr would revive just the base abilities of the Legion (with exploits fixed of course and no addons).

*Under real nerf threads I understand nerf threads that a written by people, that are upset about a game mechanic. This includes not people that write nerf threads because they hate game mechanic XYZ (because they are not interested in balance, they just want to see something go) and also not nerf threads from people that complain about just everything (aka. some people that shift from 1 nerf topic to another, like seen after the Legion patch, that some have directly shift over in Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Meyers, Huntress and other killer nerf threads - I can not take such people seriously - srs guys why you play a game where everything is for you to difficult? Anyways, no answer needed).

Hi Talmeer, I want a Legion rework as m change as you, so please avoid bring into the discussions the old legion.

The old legion is gone, too many things went wrong with that killer and if you bring the old legion gin into a conversation you are actually hurting the chances of a rework.

Please forget the old legion and let's all unite to get a decent, fun and viable new legion.

The first step is to get the steaming pile of garbage, aka current legion, changed

Some of you guys just do not care that there are other things as a priority. I keep seeing everyone complaining about them not caring, but legion came out only a year ago, and they're trying to fix other characters. They just reworked freddy, added demigorgon, before them ghostface, had to tweek him. All this stuff really does take time. It's not hard as apposed to "adding addons" and things, more so as balancing. If they rush stuff out the window, everyone will be right back in here crying about something feeling half done. With all the stuff they've added recently (ghostface, freddy rework, demigorgon, nurse rework coming up, then the new survivors) yeah, I can see them being pushed back a bit. People actin like they dont care, but they're trying to add things and tweak things to make people happy. Cant make everyone happy sadly. It will get its time. Game has been out for how many years now? 3? They've done a lot since then. Rome wasn't built in a day. Bar-b-que and chili -cough- bad pun.

This is not an excuse, the legion rework is a stain on the devs curriculum.

They had a concept for killer who could nullify one v one and they caved in to survivors disconnecting instead of punishing the disconnectors.

And with this surrender they created the most unfunny and trash killer.

They could do with a freddy type rework imo but that will probably be way down in the list if ever.

The old Legion is gone, and it better stay gone but the new legion is trash and it needs quick addressing.

You are right about the deep wound mechanism, it's too difficult to balance, it went from strong in 1v1 to trash like it is now.

They need to completely redo legion, restart from scratch and give them a power that is good but not too op

  • It is a big problem, we need a slider

  • 1 legion to be made a fun killer not a buffoon

2 a real reduction of the grind not like the one we are having

3 increased survivors BP gain, a successful escape should grant at least 22-25k

4 3 months without new content just to fix the bugs and update old killers and perks

  • I agree cancel dedicated servers or postpone until they are playable.

This is another unnecessary nerf on killers

Team is already aware, though whether or not they'll actually do something is up for debate. We'll just have to wait and see. Sorry if that's not the response you want, but it's better than hearing another dev tell you that they're 'listening to feedback', so...

That doesn't mean this isn't an urgent situation.

I'm not interested in the old legion so I just want something fun and viable.

And its very unfair that due to survivors lobbying by dcing against legion we ended up with a buffoon of a killer.

We need a rework and fast, this situation is unacceptable

  • @Peanits can you please make the team aware?

Nobody is happy with this Legion. Somethibg needs to be done please

  • I'm sure he will get a nerf, as usual

Legion has the power to give survivors ever lasting Borrowed Time and get nerfed because every new killer is going to share in their mechanics. There isn't a single thing unique about Legion anymore other than being a killer who can vault palettes.

Vault pallets... That's a big statement, let's say they can slowly and carefully step on a pallet without breaking it haha
