  • I am happy about being easier to remove Gf power in an easier way.

It's really frustrating to look at Gf behind a window fivr meters away from him and fail to remove the power

  • @Redd said:

Looping doesn’t need to go. It just needs to be unsafe. If every single pallet was an unsafe pallet except the shack pallet; then good killers would be able to get more hits and spend less time breaking pallets.

The problem with cow tree for example is that it can take 40+ seconds to make them drop the pallet and in all that time you will not be able to mind game a hit.

I think Gf being able to hide the red stain is a step towards the right direction, I cannot understand why a killer should have the stain, it's so idiotic

  • But you see you have three lives in dbd, I would be OK to give like a 60 seconds immunity after being unhooked so the killer MUST change the target.

So you go down fast, then the next person is chased and then the next one until everyone has fun and they have been protagonist of some killer interactions.

If chases are faster and all survivors play the chase game everybody will have a similar level of fun while either winning or losing as a team, not a single individual.

Currently due to the "exploit" of different hit boxes that we call looping it is possible for a single survivor to waste all the killer's time till the gens are all popped. This is absolutely wrong and it is fun inly for one person that survivor who is a god in chases.

Unfunny for the killer, also unfunny for the other survivors just holding m1.

My favourite matches as a survivor had all the elements of dbd: some gens, some chases, some saves, some hiding.

Currently this isn't possible due to looping being to strong in many tiles, and even in good tiles a survivor can throw the pallet down quickly and proceed to the next, by the time the killer had caught up gens will pop left and right.

Looping needs to go to have a healthier game.

And yes, probably people will leave the game.

I left f13 once Jason was made unstoppable during rage, and that made me realise how much of a bully I was in thst game

    @Jimsalabim said:

There is another problem and that is most players are casual. If you make the game harder for surivvors to "survive" then i see a lot of players leaving. Let's face it most survivors are potatoe and if they are killed within a second (so to speak) i don't see a lot of reasons why they should keep playing.

  • @gantes said:

As long as all loops are mindgameable, we shouldn't have problem with chases taking too long, unless the killer repeatedly gets outplayed, which means the survivors probably deserve to win.

Just clarifying that currently it isn't the case. Too many pallets are safe. If the map rework legit changes that, then chases will depend more on skill and we'll be fine.

    I agree with you here

  • @Jimsalabim said:

as a survivor looping around windows (not necessary around a pallet area) and the chase are the most fun. shortening them would just be another nerf to fun. As i play killer too from time to time i understand it would be more fun as killer to have shorter chases and have more time to do map control. So how do you balance this? tough decisions

But you just cannot have lots of time of "fun" in a 4 vs 1 game.

While you are looping your team is doing objectives which means that the killer cannot win.

Chases cannot take more than a minute for the killer to have a chance, if they do then killers should be able to kill you right away, like the old mori.

That would balance the power of looping, but I don't think killing people right away is something desirable.

It's a two roles game, both roles fum must be taken into account.

Running a killer in circles thanks to smaller hit boxes isn't fun for the killer when all the other gens are popping.

It would be fun in a 1 vs 1 without others pushing objectives

All the maps will need to be reworked if looping is no more. Without looping survivors have no way to defend themselves. Most of the maps have large open spaces with no LOS blockers so without looping, upon being found the survivor has no chance.

Do you really want there to be a stealth meta? That’s the way this game is headed at the moment. With survivors second chance perks being nerfed and less safe loops in the future, that will be the new meta. Trust me that will be boring for both killers and survivors.

Survivors need ways to escape killers obviously but chases must be shorter and not running in circles.

Your goal should be to run away not to waste the killer limited time for minutes.

It is the nature of asymmetric, once the number role can take plenty of time of the power role the game is unbalanced.

ALL the asymmetric horror games have the same issue, in f13 a good counselor could waste Jason's time most of the match and jason has insta kills!

Looping has no place in a balanced game, and yes all maps need to be redisegned for the game to work properly.

I don't think this will happen anyway, bhvr is simply too afraid to alienate the survivor player base.

It was a mistake to train survivors in looping being a thing

  • Everyone can do generators. Not everyone can loop. The easiest way for the killer to win a game is for them to kill off the weakest link as fast as possible.

Looping needs to go, it is the source of the unbalance in thr game.

When 1 person in the number role can actively verse the power role for minutes the game is already over.

It is a Necessity to remove looping and give survivors safe ways to defend themselves without having chases to last more than a minute, anything more than that will lead to gen rush and further unbalance.

Once looping is addressed we need to address some killers as they may be too strong for a nerfed looping meta.

Unfortunately they are redesigning two maps per year, which is nothing.

Most maps are survivor sided with some maps horribly killer sided

  • Fair point hahah she goes back being a girl after a pallet stun maybe she is on TRT?

To translate this into reasonable and measured speak:

The addition of content on a regular basis great, but with the amount of bug reports that currently go unresolved from both past and present patches of the game maybe it is time to deviate from the standard roadmap. Rainbow Six Siege had similar problems of mounting bug and balance issues that in order to address properly and fully they deviated from their standard roadmap and built a mega patch focused on solving as many issues as possible while adding frame work to continually monitor any unresolved issues or new issues. They called it Operation Health and was very well received by the fan base as the game was drastically improved on all fronts.

This is precisely what we need a chapter on health and balance

  • @se05239 said:

    • Map size needs to be reduced overall.
    • Most maps need a revisit to change super safe loops to be less safe.

If the two above points are handled, the game will be better overall.

Weaker killer will end up stronger since they can end up at place B faster from point A and their effectiveness in chases will be improved, resulting in shorter chases and more map pressure.

Well said, I just can't understand why this wasn't clear to the devs to begin with.

Some maps are so unbalanced that it's disgusting to see

  • I had a game as a survivor which lasted 3,35 mins, I kid you not, it's all recorded.

I did one gen, one self care, opened one door for a total of 14k points ridiculous

  • @martin27 said:

I suppose with the different abilities it would be impossible to get them all on a exact level playing field. I've seen a whole load of posts that state there is only 3 or 4 worth playing when trying to deal with looping.

The big problem is the amount of time you can waste due to safe, non mindgameble loops.

Looping needs to go so we can then adjust killers accordingly

  • I used to main nurse on ps4 and this how you made her acceptable:

1: ps4 pro with boost mode

2: use a split fish piranha which is a controller in your left hand and a mouse in your right hand (this one here https://www.amazon.co.uk/SplitFish-FragFX-Piranha-PS4-officially/dp/B07HS4RZK5/ref=ascdfB07HS4RZK5/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310689469388&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12394954408649198228&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045888&hvtargid=pla-594906763859&psc=1)

3: set the sensitivity of the piranha very high around 7/8 and also increase response time ( it is a function of the controller), it is all legal as it is an official ps4 controller

4: have a quick response gaming monitor, I like Dell monitors

that's how you may get closer to pc

  • She is just good for bloodpoints and she looks cool, that's why I still play my girl Susie. Granted that you meet good Loopy Loopers, you are doomed!

    @Pike_Trickfoot

I was thinking about swapping NC with Discordance so it would be easier to find and grab Survivors off the gens. I was thinking about the Surveillance and Discordance combo as a backup in case my Ruin is destroyed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/545715#Comment_545715

    @DBDbuildsYT

PGTW does seem like a pretty good choice for a gen build. I've heard good things about it on Spirit. I often use Yakuyoke+Prayer Beads and Wakizashi+Katana Tsuba (the other reappearance duration add-on).

I actually didn't think about Survivors not wanting to work together on a gen because of Ruin. I was thinking more about Survivors who knew how to work through Ruin skillchecks and having a back up for when my Ruin gets destroyed.

I hate playing against gen rushers. It's not fun at all. If you make even the smallest mistake, you could end up losing two gens.

Working through a gen with ruin is risky because two people may get more skill checks, now this doesn't apply if they can get most ruin skill chrvks :)

  • Yes and you get the obsession back once you DS the killer.

It's not fully random, if someone is running MoM or OoO or SS they are more likely to be the chosen obsession.

In your case probably no one was running those perks hence you got selected

  • Someone in your team had decisive strike which assigns the obsession to a random person

I'm curious what system and region you all are playing on and in?

I am on PC and the US-west coast area and usually never have more than a 2-3 minute wait time as killer. Sometimes if I am on really late like 2AM+ it might increase to more than 3 minutes, but day/evening/night doesn't seem bad at all for me.

I play on ps4 from the UK.

My queue times were great but then they changed something around a week before the blood hunt, since then its all broken

  • Killer queue times need to be addressed, they are ruining the experience

  • 3 man lobby is a well known bug in dbd, it was gone but it came back few days before the bh

  • Something was obviously changed and it's not working, at least on the killer side. I'm sure they are re trying the awful matchmaking they tried two months ago, the one that pairs rank 2 with 10 and 16, at the same time three man lobby bug is back on ps4 and it did disappear for a while.

    They are testing somethibg,

Point 3 is going to take awhile given the procedural generation of the maps. The most they can do right now is work each individual tile to shorten the loops to make them mind-gamable, which they've already been doing for months now.

However, making sure that the ajoining tiles don't spawn in such a matter that makes a much larger loop is considerably more difficult.

Loops are going nowhere for awhile, as much as it pains me to say it

If 3 months isn't enough then they may take six but the problems are there.

The loops are still unacceptable, I just had a mstch with legion in auto heaven a d I was trying to catch a jake who had 3 non mind gamble low loops. I had to eat the 3 of them and meanwhile I lost ruin and 1 gen before I could hit the jake.

I'm certainly not the best player but this is an absurd situation where I'm forced to run in circles like an idiot due to bad map designing and terrible matchmaking.

In fact this guy and another Kate were Loopy Loopers rank 8 vs my casual player rank 14. Its so stupid and when I realised what was going on I simply sat in a corner so they could go asap

  • Yeah I have the same, you just need to dc or go afk while you eat a sandwich or something, no point in accepting their toxicity

@TheBean A lot of people have issues with map design, how stressful and frustrating playing killer is, and how monotonous the gameplay is for survivors who're not being chased).

Skipping a Chapter for major game improvements and health would do this game good.

Yes essentially they need to address :

1: various bugs that are afflicting the game

2: map design and address looping once and for all

3: the grind and the bloodweb

4: address some killers once looping won't be prominent anymore

They should skip a chapter and address all of these points

  • @Kurisataru I agree with your point regarding moris, they aren't op. I just would love to remove sources of toxicity as much as possible.

I am a veteran of online gaming having started in 2002 with ultima online but I had never seen sonethibg like dbd before, toxicity to the roof, so if there's anything to reduce this I am down.

https://www.youtube.com/user/Chuckino10 this is the channel link, it's pretty small I simply included in the convo just to remark I am a real killer main, not a fake survivor hiding one :)

TBH it is nice they are "looking at it"... Glad Peanits is allowed to mention that too us.

    However lets be reasonable here...

Looking at it means.. once every week or two, a group of BHVR employees get together to evaluate the feedback and suggestions.... Then decide which ones sound "reasonable" then they start spit balling ideas.

We are basically over a year away from anything ever being done about it.

If anything... They are adding more stuff to make it worse until then.

That's why a lot of people are asking to skip a chapter and just focus on the health of the game where bugs and balance will be addressed

  • @Peanits

So the blood hunt is over but it still takes 5-7 mins to create a lobby as killer.

Can we please know when something will be done about this? Thank you

  • I agree with op, there's no reason for these two maps to be around without appropriate rework.

For the time being they should be disabled

  • @LCGaster said:

They release a new killer and completely unrelated things get bugged

They even nerfed legion's killer instinct so Gf won't be too op...

  • If you run a gen based build you could go with something like :

Discordance, surveillance, pop goes and bbq

With prayer beads plus yakuyoke or yakuyoke plus dirty uwabaky or wakizashi saya.

Granted you can find the first survivors fast you will be deadly.

In this regard, you won't need ruin because in my experience ruin counters discordance, in the sense that survivors are less keen to work together with ruin.

Now all I said doesn't apply to red ranks, BUT why would you want to play vs gen Rushers?

Green ranks and those builds are a great mstch

  • @screamdreamsx said:

It may be frowned upon to use NOED but you won’t be frowning when you kill everyone in the end game :) especially if it’s a game of 4 man SWF who spend the game antagonising you and thinking they’re invincible. Nothing quite as satisfying as the first down, who is none the wiser.

Tbh I think the best response to antagonising survivors is a dc. It literally leaves bitter in their mouth, as an alternative you can just afk in a corner until they leave.

Toxicity must die, the sooner the better

He ment "baby" as in "new". As for the rest of this nonsense, if you want a good character, grind or GTFO. This is the same lazy crap I see in literally EVERY THREAD. You're playing a game ment to be difficult. The devs aren't here to hold your hand.

What you are saying doesn't hold any substance, the goal of company is to turn profit otherwise they all go unemployed.

To turn profit you need a player base that grows and who is willing to invest money in the micro transactions.

So you can stop your patronising speech and accept that a game MUST be accessible to new players and to casual players to be successful. It is the job of the devs to do so.

Dbd is currently too grindy and that's not good for anybody but few old timers who already did the grind.

The grind will be lessened, and there's nothing you can do about it

  • I agree Legion needs some upgrades, at least the possibility of triggering unlimited feral frenzy just to move around the map ( no hits allowed). This would make legion a slower m1lly

  • Killer: looping must go

    Survivor : tunneling killers

Excuse me? Mocking? I wasn't mocking in the least. Please consult your nearest dictionary. I was simply bringing up how the grind ISN'T that hard. Get off your high horse and join us in reality. I'm not here to appease the delicate sensibilities of new players who complain about things that aren't an issue instead of adapting. To hell with that spoon-feeding crap.

Back then, with 3 killers and less perks, it would likely take about the same amount of time to P3 all of them, fully perked, as it would to do that to 10 killers now. The REAL issue is the bloodpoints cap. There's an artificial ceiling that stops you from being able to get ######### done faster.

Calling people baby players is an obnoxious patronising behaviour which doesn't really have a place in a civilised forum.

Good for you thst you had to go through that grind, I am struggling with this abd very few games out there are as grind as this unless MMORPG

  • @Paladin_Goo mocking new players is NEVER OK. Be respectful

For op, I like your idea, the grind must be lessened, grinding killers is so long and annoying I am devotion 3 and still don't have all I need on my killers

@DBDbuildsYT no one is required to be anything. This game just seems make people try hards for some reason.

Agreed bit I don't want to play in that role, I'll try my best to be fun and fair unless I get toxic people

  • I also like you can finally hear survivors!

  • A killer main perspective, watch my videos and see they are almost all killer related but moris are toxic bs

  • @Bithard said:

As plenty of people have said, your fun isn't someone else's responsibility. Being looped and gen rushed isn't fun at all. Neither is being camped and tunneled straight away. But people are going to do it regardless and tell you to git gud when you complain. It's the BS that comes with online games.

I am not required to be a chill killer/survivor BUT I don't want to be an Axx to people either.

I think it all starts with good examples.

I had 40 killer matches during the BH and only two teams of horrible survivors where I dced. This was mainly because most survivors realised I was trying to preserve people's fun as well.

As someone who constantly plays against insta heals I must say that I don't mind even the pink one. I'd be happier if insted of nerfing these not very important issues we rather solved the real reason why games can last for less then 7 minutes and that is lack of second objective for survivors.

Many problems of M1 killers would be solved if games lasted at least 10 minutes and hopefully more, then we can care about other less impactful problems.

I agree to an extent, in the sense that the whole running in circles mechanic has to go in favour of something less idiotic.

With that said removing moris and insta heal is a good start

@DBDbuildsYT @YouGotMeHooked Moris are not op if the killer has to work for it and they can still be countered by optimal players swf or not. be smart with aultrism and chasing and try to keep from being genlocked if you think the killer has a mori ready. Even when I play survivor I'm going to try to do the gens in an order so that the killer has to travel far between the last gens if I think they have a mori or noed or at least do the unsafe gens asap. Moris don't even guarantee a 4k!

@Kurisataru I am a killer main, real one not pretending one, just see my YouTube for confirmation, and I think moris shouldn't exist.

They are pretty toxic so I would remove anything which is toxic from the game.

So even thought I understand where you coming from I cannot accept toxic stuff in dbd because it simply spoils the fun.
