I just don't think DH should be made useless by any game mechanic, now that's it so heavily restricted on it's use.
just don’t step in his trails lol and if that’s the case then let’s make perks like PGTW and Grim embrace activate via caging survivors too
I mean these perks also have limited uses so it’s fair to also use them

Wraith also needs it back, there is 0 counterplay against him. He just starts uncloak in front of pallets cancels it and you are forced to drop it instant, otherwise he just hits you because of the speed boost.
All wraiths I played against did always tunnel and his super speed makes it impossible to do anything against it.
pyramid head also does that on loops
it’s called “M2 faking” and it’s just basic mind games you have to play around
and bringing back light burn on wraith isn’t gonna stop him from tunneling
But it should be back for nurse and spirit

Cages should count as a hook state. They currently stop Dead Hard from activating. This is too punishing for a perk that can only be used twice per match, maximum.
Couldn't be bothered to create a whole thread to say that, so just tacked it on here.
They are a hook state lmao
they just ban hook perks on both sides

She is fine and even week whe you don't ignore her counterplay - fact.
People exaggerate about her more than she deserve it, because of biases from past they don't want to refuse - fact.
She is not that hard in the chase, there are at least 10 killers, who is more annoying and leave way less counterplay - fact.
Be honest with yourself and accept that exactly this killer will be "fine and fun" only when you can completely ignore her counterplay and won't be punished for it, and in chase she will be Trapper level.
That’s not the case there are many other killers that are way too oppressive in chase yet many people find them fun
pyramid head being one of them
-
@jonifire said:
They should bring back lightburn and make that it applies for the problematic killers and those who already had it.
lightburn imo is somewhat welcomed to return except for wraith since he’s the only m1 killer who was harmed the most by it
-
you can proxy camp cages as pyramid head if you didn’t know
-
Pyramid head
last time I’ve seen one playing survivor was 5 months ago :(
-
I think they should decrease the charge time penalty and remove the movement speed debuff
addon doesn’t even seem problematic in a least bit imo

Do not use the vaccine immediately after unhooked yourself, it is a big mistake. Survivors should be the first to leave from hook unless there is a good reason to do so, and use the vaccine after completing treatment. Unless you're in a situation where the killer is never coming back, leave from hook right away. Survivors should remember that staying on the hook and letting the killer know about it is one of the worst things you can do.
As someone who mains VCD on wesker
yes please don’t cleanse off hook

Dude I’ve been playing a few sweaty games on pyramid head and I’m on the verge of dropping lethal pursuer in favor of corrupt intervention
I hate 2-3 gens popping even at my first chase

It certainly is. It's also great with pop because in frenzy you can also see which gen has the most progression and go and pop it. I believe it also stacks with Hex: Ruin.
Ahhh that’s cool
thx for letting me know that

@Blueberry said:
I don’t think they’re an issue at all, but for the sake of boring and variety I can agree that we want to see other perks. They nerfed all the other good perks so the killers are just defaulting to all that’s left. We don’t need those perks nerfed, we need other perks to be made actually good so we have more options.
Revert the Sloppy change, revert old Thana to its good version, revert most the gen kick perk nerfs since it’s totally unnecessary now that we have the gen kick limit and for that matter make the gen kick limit only be active when we’re at 3 gens, it makes no since to be active at the start of the game and it kills gen kick perks. Revert Ruin back to 200%, 100% is trash. 200% Ruin was not an issue. Revert STBFL, last version was healthy and good design.
Nerfing overpowered or unhealthy perks is fine, but all these things I just listed weren’t unhealthy or overpowered. Nerfing these just removed them from the game and further narrowed the variety of perks you see used.
Now if you want to see less “gen slow down” perks I’m down for that as well, but the problem is that currently games are too fast without them so they’re required. Slow the game down and we can gut all the gen slow down perks simultaneously if you want to go that route.
I rlly wish if they fully revert thana and ruin
those were my favorite perks to run on killer
-
@tjt85 said:
I think part of it might be down to the anti 3 gen.
Personally, I've been bringing stronger regression since its introduction because it feels like you really need to make every event count now. I swapped out Surge on my Legion for Pop and the Fuming mixtape because I was hitting gens I didn't want to with Surge.
Surge is still on my play for fun Killers because I enjoy seeing it hit lots of gens, but maybe they need to buff Surge and other regression perks a little to give Killers a few more viable options. Even then, there will always be players who will combo 4 of the strongest slowdowns whatever the current meta happens to be.
Is fuming mixtape the addon that makes gens regress when you’re in frenzy?

Hate to be a bearer of bad news, but Scourge Hook: Gift Of Pain only gives -9% not -16%. Not sure when they changed it.
Aside from that, i honestly think Hemorrhage should be on a time limit, would of probably felt better especially with killer powers that can interupt actions.
That’s a description bug with gift of pain
devs said they’re going to fix it in the next patches

I’d love a second silent hill chapter for the anniversary

Very fair concern, I favor Torment being on the wave as it ensures PH will always be playing in a way that leads back to Torment, as PotD is just outright damage that most PH players focus on because it's simply better than trying to get survivors to step on Trails. However, third health starts tend not to be my favorite design in most cases, so I definitely get your reluctance towards the idea!
I say the idea of tormenting on M2 hits (whether it’s a 3rd health state or not) should be abandoned for better ideas for his kit and addon pass
Personally I’d rather have torment stay as it is or a better idea to make torment abit strong is that the game adds a base mechanic that awards you for tormenting survivors
something like Wesker’s recharge speed increasing for every infected survivor or the old “forever Freddy” addons
and yes I’m aware it’s gonna make the game more awkward with how survivors will avoid his trails even more but there could be a few positive side effects
or maybe a mini thana base mechanic with how most slowdown perks don’t favor his kit or are very nerfed that they aren’t worth running on him

Victim's Daily Routine could use a buff, you can get 5 seconds of Exhaustion out in no time haha
Yeah maybe a slight buff to the exhaustion duration
it’s still a solid addon tho
-
Personally I’m not a fan of turning his torment power into m2 no damage and then damage
torment on M2 attacks imo is just in a very strange spot ever since they tested it on the end transmission PTB
and most ideas don’t address what’s the actual problem with torment on M2 attacks
ALTHO I like your idea about the fog world thing with how the SH chapter when it first came out it had no real elements of silent hill except the other world version of midwich
-
The only thing I want them to do with his addons is to rework
knife belt clip
that addon is useless
his purple addons are already spot on

Walter Sullivan as killer
Henry and Eileen as survivors
and another silent hill realm map

im not referring to the time when the devs thought it was normal for him to see the auras of the cages what I’m referring to by reverting him to his launch state is to make his basekit feel smooth to play as
There’s a few videos on YouTube from 2020 that showcase what I’m exactly talking about
and the video that’s linked in the post has footage from 2020 that showcase it
ok I found a better example on YouTube on how pyramid head’s power used to be like when he first released

While he does need an addon pass he needs improvements base kit as well. We already have too many addon reliant killers that I don’t want his buffs to be only in the form of addons.
The only 3 things I can think of for basekit buffs are
- Revert him back to his launch state cause his clunky basekit is just bad for those who aren’t used to it
- basekit one of his range addons (he has 3 range addons which are black strap, wax doll and burning man painting)
- maybe add pallet breaking to his m2 attacks
but I think his basekit is in a decent spot
its already a very very very strong basekit
special hooks, range attacks, and zoning

The way I'd do it is make it an Iri addon that removes the trail in exchange for torment on a ranged hit, or so that the punishment has a brief torment effect if you don't hit a survivor, so you could lead a shot and have them run over a (non-damaging) torment trail instead of dealing direct damage. Unfortunately the current trails just don't seem reliable enough to be the only source of the status effect, at least in my own experience.
I did that idea once for an addon pass concept I did for fun but I still feel like it’ll work in a strange way
altho your take on it is pretty neat
@Blueberry said:
I mean how else do we buff him then?
M2s need to be more rewarding than they currently are. Maybe significantly reduced recovery time only on successful hits?
There’s literally many other ways to create addon concepts for him
torment on M2 has been said a lot of times and it was even tested on a PTB
-
@Mentally_Mechanical said:
Triangle Dome is a conflicting killer for me. Addon pass aside, because it's just a granted that he needs one, I feel like his kit is kinda clunky. It's slow to use his power and, against most survivors, applying torment is incredibly difficult. I know they were testing out having his ranged attack apply torment, and I think something like that could be a good addon, or even basekit if done in a smart way.
He needs love, and I hope he gets it.
@Blueberry said:
Feels like Torment should be easier to apply and his ranged attacks should be more rewarding. I’d like the Torment on ranged hits base kit and trails lasting longer. Addon pass of course as well.
Torment on punishment of the damned hit was seen as a bad idea back on the end transmission PTB as decently experienced PHs would easily tunnel survivors out let alone with how easy it is to memorize/predict the cage spawn rngs which also made it easy to tunnel out survivors without any form of downsides
its still debatable tho regarding whether or not he should apply torment on m2 hits but that still seems broken to me a Phead main but I’m open for discussion and seeing what you guys think on that concept to me it’s more than welcomed to be an Iri addon but it will still need some testing
-
Is that why I’ve been getting low BPS even when stacking multiple offerings with others?
-
@Ayeiann said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3677809#Comment_3677809
I mean his ranged attack is good, probably one of the best. But his cage isn't that useful unless it's a bully squad or you need to hook someone fast to apply pressure, but most of the time his cage doesn't outweigh the negatives of losing any hook perks you have. And yeah his kit is very anti-begineer. I don't know what you could do though to make it easier for new players.
They just need to revert his basekit to how it used to perform when pyramid head first came out
And regarding the cages
well they are often useful if you’re able to do a solid build around them but sadly the current killer meta doesn’t favor that with how all the anti gen rush perks require hooks

Ahhhh yes, Tinkerer Billy and Tinkerer Blight. Good times.
I remember in the olden days in the long long ago when Tinkerer increased killer powers by like 25% or sumsuch. Machine Gun Huntress was the biggest offender back then. The before times were something else!
I disagree
the biggest offender of old tinkerer was instasaw Billy cause that thing stacked with both of his old instasaw addons

Map elevation is bad and it outright makes several killers unplayable or just screws you over like the windows on Lery’s when playing pyramid head pretty much removed your range due to the elevation detecting it as a lower/higher floor

Hillbilly - Backrev Bob, almost always running 4 gen perks (comp billy will dc if you use a sac ward)
Nurse - always running 4 gen perks, slug
Mikeal - almost always running 4 gen perks, slugs, either has journal or rabbit
Hag - Places 9 million traps around a hook, almost always running 4 gen perks
Doctor - Tries to send you to an indoor map, almost always running 4 gen regression perks
Huntress - Either going for orbitals or proxy camping the unhook, usually using 4 regression perks or crutching on all aura reading
Cannibal -Haven't seen any that are good with chainsaw unless they are back revving, almost always running 4 gen perks
Nightmare - almost always running 4 gen perks
Pig - Even with the buffs still bad at using ambush, once gotten a headtrap on someone will tunnel, almost always running 4 gen perks
Clown - almost always running 4 gen perks, will tunnel
Spirit - will tunnel, almost always running 4 gen perks
Legion - runs 4 gen perks
Plague - will always be the killer when i run an altruistic healing build, almost always running 4 gen perks
Ghost Face - weird ws players, always running 4 gen perks
Demo - runs 4 gen perks, tunnels, or plays totem defender which is one of the most boring things ever
Oni - almost always running 4 gen perks, slugs
Deathslinger - almost always running 4 gen perks, slugs
Executioner - Havent seen
Blight - running meta, slugs
Twins - always running 4 gen perks, slugs
Trickster - havent seen
Nemesis - almost always running 4 gen perks
Cenobite - console players get screwed by the key binds
Artist - runs 4 gen perks, tunnels, slugs

Singularity - Haven't seen
Xeno - runs that one add-on that makes turrets almost useless and loves to tunnel you. also runs 4 gen perks
Good Guy - free hit every 20 seconds
Unknown - runs 4 gen perks
TLDR:
almost always running 4 gen perks
The executioner haven’t seen part hits hard as a PH main 😔

@Ayeiann said:
I think he's pretty okay when used right, but I agree, his power is really only useful for tunneling, and his add-ons are really bad. Some nice ones would maybe be quicker charge/activation times but less range, maybe trails trails injuring if stepped on twice in the span of, say, maybe 4 or 5 seconds? Maybe less if that's too strong, some gameplay changes would be nice instead of basically them all being the same.
I mean yeah his basekit is mostly fine when you’re used to playing it but for a beginner player on the other hand it’s probably the most anti beginner friendly basekit
and I disagree about his power being useful only for tunneling cause he’s still easily the strongest antiloop killer
There’s been plenty of ideas of what his addons could be if he ever gets an addon pass
-
agreed
the perk is trash in its core design and I’d like if it could have that as a secondary functionality
-
Blocked gens can’t be regressed or progressed
-
I think it’s because as a way to warn infected survivors to start prerunning due to how his power hinders survivors until they remove the infection
-
Outside of midwich
is it possible that one day we will see the silent hill realm expand to show more places from the games? (Alchemilla hospital, nowhere, lakeside amusement park, etc)

You should be at least on the cover of Vogue and in Chanel and Dior ads with such prettiness!
To the OP's post: once against completely surprised of how underhated PH is. No one mentioned him, but he is easily most uninteractive killer in the game. I will deny your every movement and possible counterplay with just going behind you with 4,4. Never stops surprise me how low hated this killer is for how annoying he is.
your pyramid head statement sounds like a skill issue
and he’s not even 4.4 whenever he’s in his power his movement speed goes from 115% to 92%
and also maybe try to play the killer to know why there’s only a few people who hate him + he has garbage addons so there rlly isn’t anything to complain about him

block killer's path -> run after you make sure the other person made enough distance -> get in a locker.
what does the killer do here?
As a pyramid head main who often torments and then hooks survivors to cage them later and usually gets locker DS’d because the survivor doesn’t wanna get caged and tunneled out faster
yes please disable DS in lockers

Repressed Alliance is very good at denying the killer from using Pop. If you’re working on a gen solo, it’s almost done, and the killer’s coming for you, there’s 0 reason not to use it, as it locks in the progress for the duration. Granted, if you’re a solo queuer, chances are nobody will capitalise on your play, but the potential is there.
Thalita’s perks across the board are really underwhelming, to the point that I can’t even remember what 2 of them even do.
Still the gen is blocked for 45 seconds
enough time to catch and hook the person and 45 seconds of not worrying that someone will continue the gen while I try to down the survivor who used it
and it’s a bad counter to PGTW and blast mine does the job better
overall most survivor perks are just bad in general or barely worth the perk slot
