It has zero downsides when used for distance. In case you haven't noticed, the tiles are set up to give survivors barely enough distance to chain them, and if you out play them, you can get the down. Dead hard for distance breaks that balance.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1435123#Comment_1435123
You lost all credibility when you said mindbreaker and blood echo are good for anything.
Two killers have exhaustion add ons. Insta downs only work the first time, then anyone with a brain wouldn't heal up.
As for pallets, if you're banking on breaking them all, you've already lost.
They are perks that add exhaustion to survivors. Not my fault you want to run your meta perks instead of perks that could help end your dead hard problem.
-
Spirit needs to not be able to hear survivor grunts of pain while in Phase. That would make it a fair mind game rather than totally one sided.
Might even make Father’s glasses add on useful when paired with Bloodhound.
-
DH is fine, there’s plenty of counters:
-Mindbreaker
-Blood Echo
-Killers with exhaustion add ons
-Killers with instant down abilities
-Exposed status effect
And of course DH for distance is only good if there are pallets. When most of the pallets are gone it’s pretty useless.
-
All she needs is to be unable to hear breathing/grunts of pain when phasing. Then it would be a fair mind game for both sides
-
IMO having bear traps be deadly is the wrong way to go. With certain add ons and RNG Pig can effortlessly get kills.
It would be a lot better if the reverse bear traps had a direct effect on the survivor until they get the helmet off. For example reduced (-20%) action speed? The boxes auras aren’t visible to the survivors until a generator has been completed.
-
This again??? Also Otz won that game so I fail to see the point of this thread. If every gen could be done at that speed then it’d be a problem but 🤷🏻♂️
-
(Old) Nurse & Billy were the two go to killers for toxic 4K slug build. Why? Because they had no cool down on their powers. At least now the 4K slug will be harder to pull off.
-
Bill needs legendary cosmetics that change him into the cast from L4D & L4D2. Coach, Ellis, Zoey etc.
-
You only need to predict with Spirit when survivors run iron will or aren’t injured.
Otherwise it’s a case of Spirit knowing where you are exactly while as a survivor you get no info at all. (She doesn’t move grass & her footsteps are nearly non-existent)
And if she doesn’t get your exact position it doesn’t matter anyway because of her post-phase lunge & the fact that she can resume the chase instantly and catch up.
-
Bear in mind that it takes like 1-2s for you to get off the killer’s shoulder and start moving.
It’s fine where it’s at

He'll be "fun" in the same way Nurse is "fun"
Because we as the killer really enjoy waiting for a red bar to charge while 3 other people are free to do whatever they want.
That really makes the killer role just feel right, ya know? Sitting there, being the same as any other killer while you're on CD.
I’m sorry you actually have to THINK when to use your power rather than blindly holding M2.
Also while on cool down you still have your M1 & 115% speed...
-
He’ll still be fun.
But obviously those who play him to get ez 4K slug at 5 gens are going to dislike this change.
-
Speaking from experience as a Solo survivor, I’m glad Billy is getting nerfed.
I might know how to avoid his M2 but that doesn’t stop him from finding my teammates & snowballing hard which usually ends in a slug-fest.
There’s a special place in hell for the Billy’s that intentionality go for the 4K slug.
Even with the nerf he’ll still be a strong killer. Except now his chainsaw will overheat to actually give survivors some breathing room from his snowball.
What other Killer has huge mobility & an insta down? Exactly
-
He’s fine where he is. He has poor map pressure but makes up for it with the ability to end chases very quickly and his small TR so he can get the drop on survivors.
-
Devs are being a lot more careful with addons. They mostly compliment the kit of the killer rather than make them more powerful, which is the way it should be. A killer shouldn’t have to rely on add ons to win.

so the passive nature of ds when survivors jump in a locker or instantly hop on a generator is fine? Theres a passive nature to NOED but thats still considered fine. Every single overused survivor perk is passive. The only active meta survivor perk is dead hard. I dont buy these arguments at all. I dont even want the old ruin back, but dont lie to us. Just call it what it is, a fun factor consideration for survivors at every rank and theres 4 of them per game having fun vs 1 killer.
Old Ruin had a powerful effect with no effort needed. Most of the “overused survivor perks” have conditions needed to be met to use them, so hardly passive. Old Ruin however was effective from the beginning.
-
I’m sad that Billy got nerfed, because Spirit deserves it way more
-
Well I don’t think the devs have actually replied to anything regarding the current state of Moris & keys.

Unbreakable. Almost always paired together.
That’s still a wasted 20s from lying on the ground recovering

DS is the best perk in the game.
But I'd definitely say some killer perks definitely do come near that level.
Not the best perk in the game when you get slugged, or get no use out of it.

Nothing about these add-ons compliments Billy's power at all.
Not having OP add-ons doesn't mean the add-ons have to be absolute garbage.
Seriously, they basically made speed limiter a freaking iridescent add-on. Instantly sawing through pallets is so incredibly niche, I think the bonus blood points are universally more useful.
I guess it's still better than Nurse's purple add-on which makes her a 115% M1 killer for a minute. Literally an add-on that makes you a powerless killer. Very useful. /s
Heavy Clutch, Bug buckle & Mother’s helpers are useless. The rest however have use, no matter how small.
-
So what you guys want another iridescent add on that’s like Iri heads? I like the new add ons in terms of balance.
Stacking OP addons on a killer shouldn’t mean you get easy 4K. these add ons more compliment the killer’s power rather than make it downright OP.
-
Old Ruin gave too much free pressure with no effort. It was already overkill on high pressure killers like Spirit, Nurse etc.

That is still a whole new damn chase which amounts to at least 30 seconds unless the survivor is an absolute potato. One of the best killerperks awards a 20 second gen regression AFTER hooking somebody, let that sink in.
KIllerperks should by design be much stronger than survivorperks yet the survivormeta consists of perks that you could get use of every game.
Well you can’t get use out of DS if you are slugged. Or better yet if you aren’t targeted by the killer within 60s of being unhooked.

Without DS the person would be on a hook, how the ######### is that a wasted perk. It's a whole hookstate, killers don't have anything close to that
Nothing is stopping you from chasing & downing the survivor after the DS. However it has much better utilisation in endgame.
-
DS is fine. Eat the stun before endgame then it’s basically wasted perk.
I personally like it because I get 60s of “invincibility”. At least it somewhat helps with getting tunnelled out of the game early on.
However if you refuse to eat the DS for whatever reason early on then it’s on you if it reaches endgame and DS bails the survivor out.
I’m sorry but I’m not just going to get out ASAP if I have DS running. I will use it to my full advantage in endgame.
I especially like it when me & teammate make a coordinated save, I bait the killer to grab me with DS active and teammate rescues survivor with BT while the killer gets a 5s stun. So satisfying when it all comes together.
-
Hillbilly is one of the ‘OG’ Killers though, so it’s fitting that he has the standard music.
Bubba on the other hand could have done with some music from the soundtrack of Texas chainsaw Massacre, but licenses and all.
-
Stop suggesting ideas to punish SWF. Whether you like it or not they are here to stay without any handicaps.
-
I assume if the killer has authority over hits then it’s still client-sided?
Why not have hit registration totally server sided so that it’s fair for both sides?
-
I’m guessing the purpose of this thread is to trigger survivor mains?
-
I would have dropped this game long ago if it wasn’t for SWF. You try playing solos with the current state of matchmaking. Doesn’t help the fact that ANYONE can get to rank 1 by just playing the game.
-
How are they catering to SWF exactly?
-
These jokes are getting a little old now.
-
i am saddened by the rare cakes for survivors. I didn’t really care for the low drop rates of items but oh well
-
No counter & boring to play against.
Her “nerf” didn’t really do much. Her addons were way too overturned anyway & Prayer beads bracelet was BS. No collision only punishes the newbies.
There’s literally no downside to using her power. Missed with your power? No worries, you can still resume the chase instantly, unlike other killers who typically suffer from a cool down or fatigue with a miss.
Honestly adding post-phase fatigue would not hurt her too much. Like Nurse she could choose to lunge or to not lunge.
Or just simply letting survivors hear the phasing sound.
-
Deathslinger has poor map control but can end chases very quickly when ‘quick scoping’. Survivors have no way to tell if & when the slinger will shoot due to no wind up like Huntress.
-
Yes, it’s particularly annoying when survivors use BT to hook trade with me. That achieves nothing, if anything it would help the killer.
-
Does the insta heal from ‘For the People’ activate Soul Guard? If so it would be a somewhat decent perk in an SWF, especially if the person with Soul Guard can take the hit for their Saviour.
-
It opens up more opportunities for unique clothing. Some can’t be made separate because of aforementioned clipping issues & may look rather unfinished if combined with other clothing.
-
Some people complain how this isn’t a true horror game and is instead a game of cat & mouse, this is why.
The killer has so many perks that counter stealth gameplay that you’re better off just M1 on gens till you get found then loop the killer for long enough for a gen to get done.
At this point with the current meta it’s detrimental to play stealthy.
-
The same people that complained about the Pyramid Head “nerf”. Or the slight changes to Ghostface. There are always going to be people being very vocal about killers being touched, no matter how small or how much it is needed.
-
Huntress is due for an add on pass. Hopefully it’ll get rebalanced soon.

The devs unfortunately dont balance the game around 1v4, they balance 1v1. The OP survivor perks like BT, DS, and unbreakable are basically the equivalent of free exposed on all 4 survivors whenever the killer wants, because they are essentially free escapes and health states.
The issue isnt that 1 survivor gets these perks, its that 4 do, and its massively unbalanced right now. BT needs more limits on when and how it can be used.
Adapt then. There’s plenty of ways around Borrowed Time, which by the way suffered through multiple nerfs since it’s introduction.
Perks that remove TR: Insidious, Tinkerer, Dark Devotion, Hex: Retribution, Trail of Torment.
Killers: Pig, Freddy, Wraith, Ghostface, Myers, and there’s some killers with addons that remove their TR.
-
Good luck with SWF. There’s too many insecure killers who just bring Ebony Moris just because you want to play with friends. Going to be so good when Ebonies get nerfed.
-
He has high mobility, an instant down and he has 115% m/s. A nerf was needed. Hopefully his snowballing potential is reduced.
-
Survivors still need skill to play. If survivors didn’t need skill then where is the 100% escape rate??
-
3 genning is still an issue. All a killer has to do is keep an eye on the 3 closest gens and push survivors away from them. Basically gives a free win in most cases
-
@Rivyn said:
'Instead, we want to focus on the skill-based gameplay and put an emphasis on using your chainsaw effectively...'
This line came off as ironic. Wasn't one of the reasons given for the Ruin nerf due to survivors not being skilled enough to land great skill checks? Isn't that a bit hypocritical?
Ruin applied pressure to gens with no skill needed at all, so 🤷🏻♂️
-
Thats probably one bad game out of nine good games. Just move on.
You will get sweaty SWF groups, a bit like how survivors get killers with Ebony Moris or Sweaty Spirits.
-
I’m dreading this. Some killers need help, I agree but imagine this with killers that already have high pressure (Spirit, Nurse, Oni, Hillbilly) It’s only going to guarantee them 4K’s every match.
