  • Granted, old Freddy needed a change but old Freddy was good when using specific add ons and perks.

I liked how he was invisible and how tense it was hiding hoping he didn’t see me when I hear the lullaby.

They could’ve easily kept his old power and reworked his add ons to include snares & fake pallets along with adding the alarm clocks to wake up.

  • No compensation needed as it’s not a nerf.

Its significantly less pressure than just putting someone on a normal hook

Not even worth arguing with someone who assumes survivors “can’t contribute or understand”. This killer vs survivor stance needs to stop. After all, we are all here to have a fun game.

Have you played survivor against PH? Most of the time they make a beeline for the cage, if you wasn’t lucky enough for survivors to get to you in time then he just proxy camps you. Someone goes for the save and he uses his ranged attack to instantly down you again. Is that fun? At least the devs made a change to make the gameplay healthier

  • Remove the hatchet reduction, and make it insta down from 18m+ away.

Huntress is due for an add on pass due to her add ons not following the typical killer format. Hopefully they’ll look at Iri heads then.

Yet another survivor who doesnt contribute and will call me a tunneler. Im still gunna main pyramidhead, usually your not avoiding the hook related perks now other than DS due to the lack of pressure provided from cages.

Lack of pressure? You can still patrol gens. In fact usually it wastes the survivors time going to the cage to rescue in most cases so there is pressure.

  • You are like the hive mind of Killers crying about the supposed nerf.

It’s only a nerf if you chase the cage and camp/tunnel. Otherwise it doesn’t affect you. Also it still offers the benefit of not triggering many hook related perks for survivors (namely DS) and it saves you from flashlight saves, body blockers etc.

Honestly if you only played him just to camp the cage then I’m glad you been put off of playing him.

Another licensed killer I won't even bother buying

My advice is that you should always wait for the hotfix before buying a licensed chapter

So the camping ability of the killer is what you look at when buying a killer?

As per usual a Killer gets a tweak and everyone is up in arms about it. It’s literally only a nerf to campers. All those who make an immediate beeline for the caged survivor are the ones crying about the “nerf”.

Yeah, that's my biggest worry about this. Survivors have it so easy in the end game right now. I get that it's supposed to be harder for the Killer to win, but it shouldn't be a cakewalk for the Survivors. I wouldn't be surprised if Killers slowly start DCing or AFKing once the last gen is finished in the future just because how much is stacked against them.

Not easy for survivors though is it? Use NoED, Blood Warden, Rancor, all of which offer you a chance to get something out of endgame.

But at the end of the day if at least one survivor isn’t on death hook at endgame then you done something wrong as Killer. Also FYI as killer you shouldn’t have let all 5 gens get done.

PH & his cages was an issue, especially with camping. His power was not designed for camping cages. You still disable BT & DS among others as well as body blocking & flashlight saves.

Then again, not worth arguing with someone who is so blatantly killer sided when looking at their past posts.

  • What a surprise, people complaining that they can no longer camp the cages.

If you want to camp try bubba.

  • @YaiPa said:

it's just the same tactic they used with Ash. They boosted the sales with a strong mechanic, just to nerf it weeks after. Classic BHVR.

How is it a nerf? Unless you camp the cages it shouldn’t affect you at all.

  • So happy that Tunnel-mid Head can no longer see the auras of the cages + the fact that cages move when he’s near them. Definitely a QoL booster for survivors.

  • If you managed to get a 1-2k then all is fine. We don’t need gens to take longer to fix so that you can get a 4K every game.

  • Reasons why people suicide on hook:

Balancing issues: Iri heads, Ebony Moris, could say more but it’ll only start a debate.

Other: Frustration from being caught, Teammates doing nothing productive, Killer is snowballing hard, camping, tunnelling.

Hook suiciding because of balancing issues can be fixed by devs and there would be a lot more happier games.

  • A passive would be really nice for survivors so they are at least more than just skins.

For example what if each survivor could have their own teachable as a “5th” perk. Or at the very least water it down.

    Examples:

    Dwight- Leader

    Claudette- Empathy

    Meg- Quick & Quiet

    Nea- Streetwise

    Jake- Calm Spirit

    Ace- Open Handed

See what I did there? Each survivor has a preset teachable as a passive. I deliberately chose perks which rarely see use and aren’t as powerful as others. Would that be too OP?

  • This is one of few ways where Solo players could be buffed but nvm, devs know best.

The lack of support for solo survivors is only going to drive more people to play in SWF.

  • Nurse needed a handicap to her power. The recharge time gives survivors a chance to get away to a stronger location at least.

  • Careful, the words ‘DS’ and ‘Buff’ should never be in the same sentence.

  • Just tunnel the OoO user out the game. Problem solved

  • Would be cool if his mori was ripping the head off the survivor. That would tie in with his lore.

Won’t happen though as I think it’ll be too gory.

  • It’s a must for most of my builds. I hate seeing fellow survivors being proxy camped. This is one of few counters to it.

Also it has immense value in endgame, especially when you can get other solo survivors to take hits for you so you can save without trading.

  • It’s not that hard to either eat the DS, Slug, wait out the timer or find someone else. (Though I wouldn’t advise waiting out the timer unless you utterly despise the survivor for some reason)

Or you can use Tunnel-myd head to avoid DS assuming you cage them.

  • Same way that bringing keys, flashlights, toolboxes are toxic too?

Although to be fair Iri head is notoriously OP, especially compared to other Killer Ultra Rare add ons.

Moris can be countered as someone said above dont get caught twice. how can keys be countered pray tell? Please don’t say Franklin s because you shouldn’t need to bring a perk just for that, and they can still pick it up.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332439#Comment_1332439

If it’s fair it’s fair, I don’t agree with either by the way. As killer if people key the hatch then it’s fine and as survivor of a killer moris me It’s fine. Next game is just a click away in either case. Just saying you can’t be for one but not the either.

The way this game is designed you will get hooked eventually. There’s only so many pallets and windows.

Also Franklin’s demise counters keys. Or you can tunnel the key user out the game and watch for anyone else who takes the key.

  • “Do Bones”

Survivors, especially Solos are against the clock to get gens done. If the killer is getting through hook states then you won’t have much hope getting 5 gens done when you are hunting totems.

Camping: Everyone knows that to counter a camping killer you need to rush gens. You will not have time to look for and do totems. They typically use this to their advantage by running NOED.

Moris: Again the only counter is rushing gens. However the typical Mori user will have NOED up their sleeve as they will know you won’t have time to do totems + gens and get out the game.

There’s multiple situations where survivors can’t do totems without risk of throwing the game. Literally the only time you’ll manage to cleanse all 5 is if the killer isn’t playing very well, which gives you time to mess around, do totems etc.

    The solutions I have:

    1) NOED only activates when the exit gates are open. If you want NOED you’ll have to open the exit gates yourself and force EGC (Or survivors open exit gates)

    2) In order for NOED to activate when generators are powered you’ll need to hook all 4 survivors. This would punish Campers.

  • Rainbow map with Red Twine and Green stamp. Bonus is unlike Detective’s hunch this doesn’t take up a perk slot and you can use it anytime you want.

  • Try playing survivor late at night! Near Constant Ebony Moris, Sweaty Spirits, Iridescent Head Huntress’. All I want is a decent game as a solo survivor

  • After 7pm GMT the survivor queue times are longer and the killers is noticeably shorter. But before that survivor queues are almost instant for me.

  • Just remove ebony and Ivory Moris from the game.

Survivors have been getting so many nerfs like incredibly unsafe pallets on new/reworked maps, removal of insta heals and now they are talking of introducing a mechanic at the start of the game to stop “genrush”, which ironically is the only counter against an Ebony.

They are really unhealthy for the game, it’s basically a win button and despite ebony being an Ultra Rare offering its more frequent than Ivory, figure that.

  • BT was already nerfed, it doesn’t need another one.

Also there’s plenty of counters to it. Stealth Killers, Insidious, Tinkerer, Freddy, list goes on

  • Ebony + Ivory Moris are terribly unbalanced. No one can deny that.

  • Flashlight blinding is against the killer rule book so expect to get camped/tunnelled for it

  • Tell that to the long killer que times....

  • The ranking system atm doesn’t help solo survivors. Everyone and their dog is getting to rank 1 just by playing the game (not skill based) so you’ll end up getting survivors with less than 100hrs of game time reaching rank 1. Makes a frustrating solo survivor experience

  • The point is to make the game fun for everyone. I tend to think of it more as etiquette than a rule book. Admittedly I don’t follow it if it’s endgame or a toxic SWF.

But play however you want to play.

  • Legion is an alright Killer. Even if you don’t get a 4K you can pretty much guarantee yourself lots of BP’s.

  • Doesn’t stop my Teammates from hiding near the hook waiting to save from a camping killer.

    Solo survivor life I guess

  • If the killer is Camping then a tooltip should pop up informing survivors that if the killer is making it unsafe to unhook then they should do gens. I’d also throw in the aura reveal within 16m of the hook so that survivors can see that someone is being camped.

Camping is a strong tactic against solo survivors as there’s no communication. It takes like 20s for you to figure out that someone is being camped, the same applies to the others when they try to save.

Also some have a habit of just hiding near the hook hoping the killer walks away....maybe the survivors are uneducated about camping idk.

Also the survivor being camped has no incentive to stay on the hook, they could just Hook-icide and be in another, more fun match. Maybe they should gain distraction points or something if the killer stays within the vicinity of them so that the game isn’t a total loss for them.

Two people in my lobby brought the cakes for extra bloodpoints. I only got the bonus from BBQ and Chili but no bloodpoints from the cakes. Does it work differently?

The offerings as a whole are buggy. One time I bought BPS and it didn’t even get used. It wasn’t wasted thankfully but even though it showed on leaderboard that I bought it, it had no effect whatsoever.

  • Even last year survivor had poor drop rates for the gateau

  • I thought Blendette was nerfed like a year ago?

  • @BaldursGate2 said:

    When is the anniversary?

    Starts later today I think

  • Why is it so hard for the devs to do 2x BP’s during the anniversary? The cakes sparsely appear in survivor bloodwebs despite the enhanced drop rate

  • Not much you can do other than try not to let her get a hit on you. As soon as you’re injured it’s gg for you unless you have Iron will, even then if Spirit is using Stridor then it’s gg for you.

When you’re not injured it’s incredibly easy to fool her when she’s phasing.

  • Against some killers “genrushing” is necessary. Very oppressive killers like Nurse, Oni, Spirit etc can get through hook states pretty quickly.

Also some maps don’t help either. The saloon is so small with few safe areas that you are better off “genrushing”. Same goes for Hawkins and Midwich with almost every pallet being unsafe you’re better off getting out of the trial ASAP as the chases are likely to be short.

The maps that I don’t feel comfortable on being chased I just focus on gens.

  • Killer’s aura should always be revealed when within 16m of hook, regardless of Kindred. Also when the killer has been within radius of the hooked survivor for a period of time a tooltip should pop up to all survivors telling them that if it’s unsafe to unhook then they should do gens ASAP.

Honestly I’m so sick of games of solo survivor where I lose to a camper because everyone else waits around the hook....

  • Why nerf gen speeds? Granted there are killers who struggle to put pressure across the map but what about high pressure killers?

Nurse, Hillbilly, Oni, Spirit are already very oppressive in the right hands. nerfing gen speeds in any way is only going to make them more powerful.

Also have you played Solo survivor? There are games where my whole team barely does 2 gens and everyone is pretty much on last hook, even against M1 Killers. This is in red ranks btw.

I dread to think about this early game mechanic. It’s either going to nerf Solo survivors or it’s going to end up making the oppressive killers even more powerful.

  • My only issue with NOED is when the killer forces survivors to do gens because they camp. The killer then gets rewarded by getting a couple more kills with NOED.

There should be a requirement like hook all survivors at least once for it to activate at the endgame.

Or at the very least have it only activate when the exit gates are OPEN. (FYI 99’d gates can just be countered by opening the gates yourself)

Killers are forced to bring two and sometimes three perks to counter genrushing. That sounds fun

There is no genrushing. Just get a grip and accept that you have failed at protecting the gens and move on.

With the way new maps are being made (smaller, unsafe pallets etc) “rushing” gens is the only way to win.

Literally with Hawkins, Saloon and Midwich you HAVE to complete the gens asap as there’s not much to help you when you are being chased.

  • Spring trap is perfect fit as a paragraph. Before he got “killed” in the suit he was a serial killer so the entity would have an interest in him, lore wise.

I’m not sure what the hate is against potential licensed characters. I for one would like to see Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, although deathslinger has sort of made him redundant.
