there has been many people saying they dont have an issue with it. your dismissing not only the skill factor that goes into looping which pretty much almost all survivors agree looping is the only expression of skill but your also dismissing the people that have come forward on this forum saying they dont find tunneling an issue.

you didnt answer the question, if me looping the killer good enough they cant tunnel me is lucky then what is skill?

The "skill" (if you can call it that) is in the decision-making. That's all Survivors can really do, and just one bad decision can lead to disaster, both in and out of chase. That's why I always run Kindred, to help me make more informed decisions when someone is on hook, and to help the teammates make their decision when I'm hooked.

There's all kinds of decisions you make when the Killer chases you. You're running around the pallet; do you drop it? Do you anticipate the Killer doubling back and decide to double back yourself? If you pallet-stun the Killer, do you run to the next tile or sit there and t-bag? Or do you vault over the pallet? When the Killer gets the first hit on you, do you use the speed boost to gain distance, or do you keep looping the same tile? Those are just a few of the decisions involved during chase, and you never know what decisions the Killer is going to make. That's why I say it's unrealistic for Survivors to "get gud", because you can't get good at paper/rock/scissors. The only thing they can realistically improve is their decision-making outside of chase.

based on that killer getting kills is also luck, luck of the map, luck of the quality of survivor they go against, 50/50 pallets being luck, spawn locations being luck, everything is luck based thats the point to RNG.

But are you saying that this luck has maintained for years for myself and others that have no problems with tunnelers and your luck is that bad that tunneling is an issue? if looping killers for years to the point of tunneling not being an issue is luck based then what is skill based?

Pretty sure you're the only person who "doesn't have a problem with tunneling" on the Survivor side. I haven't seen any other Survivor say that.

how is using your own views twisting things? you still havnt explained how a survivor that doesnt find tunneling an issue because they can counter it is only able to do so due to being lucky repeatedly for years playing with unskilled killers…..but when your the survivor that gets tunneled your unlucky because your not going against an unskilled killer like i have apparently been doing for years.

This is what your failing to explain, you say say its a problem, you say it cant be countered, you say its luck that counters it. true? this is what you said. But the fact this "luck" seems to last month after month, year after year doesnt seem to tie in with luck.

Yeah, it does take luck to counter it in one way or another. Whether the Killer is unskilled, whether you win the countless 50/50's (which are heavily skewed in the Killer's favor, since they only have to win the mindgame once), or whether you have random teammates that try to protect you (and rarer still for them to succeed in doing so), and whatever perks they're running, or the Killer is running. All of those are factors of luck.

by your done trying to explain it all again you mean your out of arguments to flip to. good discussion

And there you go, twisting my words again. That's why there's no point in discussing anything with you.. Tunneling is a problem that needs to be addressed, no matter how you try to defend it.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038929#Comment_4038929

so the killer got lucky by getting an unskilled survivor that cant counter them and you blame the killer? Thats exactly what you have just said. not sure that makes sense. none of what you have said makes sense….

    1. killers dont get 100% kill rate because not all killers tunnel…..when debunked showing no killer is getting 100% kill rate you change arguments to
    2. killers dont get 100% kill rate because they get lucky going against unskilled survivors which says skilled survivors can beat it. when your in that position of lucky killer v you being the unskilled survivor that cant counter it its suddenly
    3. you twisting it to fit your narrative.

each time your argument is proven false you change it to try fit your narrative. you lay the rules down but refuse to accept the rules apply to you too. as far as mmr goes, yet it is messed up i agree but after months and years of playing survivor and having very little issues with tunneling the luck card just doesnt wash, your just dismissing your own skill level by basically saying "nothing wrong with my skill, no one can counter tunneling, its unbeatable, anyone that counters it is lucky."

if the killer is unskilled going against skilled survivors then it wont matter how much tunneling they do, they wont get that skilled looper.

likewise, if the survivor is unskilled and the killer is skilled it wont matter if the killer tunnels or not, thats survivor is going down.

Thats how the game should be, thats how the game is and thats how the game will always be. fact remains, a tunneling killer cant tunnel if the survivor is skilled enough to out loop them. so like i said, next time your tunneled, you really should blame the mmr matchmaking system for matching you with a killer you cant loop….maybe some day you will get "lucky" like me and start getting unskilled killers that you can loop like i do.

No, you're the one twisting my words to fit your own narrative. I'm not going to try to explain it all again, so I'm done with this discussion.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038817#Comment_4038817

so the issue isnt tunneling or needing the perks to counter it, the issue is matchmaking and mmr matching skilled players v unskilled players. so tunneling killers get lucky and get matched with unskilled survivors that cant counter it… but when v skilled survivors its more evenly matched. likewise with survivors, can get lucky and get an unskilled killer that tunnels and just loop them.

so using your logic, when you are tunneled out, dont blame tunneling or the killer, blame mmr for matching a skilled killer v unskilled survivor that cant counter it

You're not really understanding my logic at all, or you just don't want to. You just want to twist it into your own narrative.

If someone gets tunneled out, I will absolutely blame the Killer, because they made the choice to tunnel in the first place. MMR is an issue as well, but for all kinds of different reasons. Killers can and will tunnel at any MMR level, but MMR matchmaking can play a hand in the outcome, since a skilled Survivor can loop and unskilled Killer, but not so well when it's the other way around. If the Killer and Survivor are equally skilled, then it comes to whoever happens to win the constant paper/rock/scissors game.

I think that the good old Michael will be back sooner or later.

It was exactly the same with Stranger Things. It took a break till BHVR got it back.

    So don´t worry.

Even if he doesn't return, he's been around forever, so there's tons of players who already have him. And I'm sure many more players will unlock him with the Last Chance sale before the time runs out. So I suspect we'll still see a lot of Michael in our matches.

Yeah, to the primary tunneling offenders (sweaty Blights, Nurses, Ghouls, etc.), DS is nothing more than an trivial inconvenience.

Which is a reflection of the primary hurdle to properly nerfihg tunneling: killer imbalance. You can't have a blanket solution to nerfing the ability to tunnel without disproportionately screwing all non-S/A tier killers.

True, but buffing any Killer will only buff tunneling as a consequence. That's why tunneling needs to be addressed first, and then the weaker Killers can finally receive meaningful buffs.

  • @runningguy said:

so all these tunnelers could be winning by luck….likely to tunnel an unskilled survivor which would be luck right?

A skilled Killer getting matched with an unskilled Survivor would have to be luck, given how the MMR matchmaking works (or doesn't). From what I'm seeing, about 99% of the community agrees that the matchmaking sucks. But matches shouldn't be won purely with luck or cheese.

i have escaped many times after being tunneled with no perks so that statement is false. i have escaped by looping the killer…. your saying every time i out loop the killer is luck and that luck happens a lot? wish i had that luck with the lottery lol

Yeah, it's just as likely that you looped an unskilled Killer, which would be luck.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038772#Comment_4038772

so we have gone from its not 100% kill rate because some killers dont tunnel to its not 100% kill rate because survivors are doing their objective which leads to a loss for the killer. so you have just proven tunneling isnt always a winning tactic, survivors are escaping, killers are not using tunneling to win every match, killers can in fact lose when they tunnel, it has its down side like all tactics should have.

Then we got the survivor side…. as survivor i have come across tunnelers many times. there are loads of matches the killer ended up abandoning the chase because they couldnt catch the survivor. some have even DC'd after 3 gens popped while they were tunneling. I have done this myself many times without anti tunnel perks. so your comment of "But if you get tunneled, you willdie. People don't want to play a match where their death is guaranteed." Which clearly isnt true as myself and others have been tunneled and have still escaped.

At some point it has to be skill issue which is fine, not everyone is skilled enough to counter tunneling with no anti tunnel perks and there is nothing wrong with that, didderent people have different skill levels but thats what the perks are for, to help. By shunning the help thats offered and saying "i shouldnt have to use them" your making that choice to go into a match hoping the killer doesnt tunnel instead of preparing for it, setting yourself up for a loss if the killer does tunnel

But the person being tunneled still dies, with or without anti-tunnel perks. Unless they get really lucky.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038772#Comment_4038772

Unless you can directly prevent a down or hook, thats what you're supposed to be doing. The tunnelled person's time waste is what lets them finish them, so any extension is pure progress time for the team. Its what usually leads to tunneling leading the killer to lose when it happens.

Right, but we're talking about the person being tunneled. It's a guaranteed death for them. And it's certainly not any more fun for the people sitting on gens. I know it's no more fun for me to watch a teammate get tunneled than it is to get tunneled myself.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038762#Comment_4038762

so why is my kill rate not 100%? is there any killer here that openly admits to tunneling and gets 100% kill rate? i have admitted to tunneling hard and im not gettting 100% kill rate with any killer doing that.

your claiming the reason kill rates are not 100% is due to the killers that dont tunnel, how do you explain the lack of 100% kill rate for the killers that do?

Because the other three bust out gens while the one being tunneled dies.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038744#Comment_4038744

Sure, but it's getting less and less possible with the way the devs have been weakening maps and loops across the board.

And it was more and more possible when you couldn't sneeze without hitting another pallet. Game balance ebbs and flows, so its important to consider all of it instead of just the aspects that particularly frustrate us as players. You can't cut off your nose to spite your face.

And yeah, I already have Kindred as a permanent perk in my build, as well as Soul Guard (to counter slugging).

Both reasonable. Kindred is an extremely underrated perk for solo q in general, but the sheer amount of reliance on crutches are why people refuse to run it, despite how much everyone on the team benefits from even a single person taking it. If people took the advice to improve rather than to rely on habit forming perks like WoO, they would easily be able to find room for it in their loadouts. And that's coming from experience, I used to crutch hard on spine chill in my early days (especially for stealth killers) and being able to take it out of my loadout made me miss it less and less as I got better.

It makes no difference whether I run anti-tunnel perks or not, because the Killer can easily tunnel through them, no matter how skilled you are. I've seen that countless times. If you manage to buy enough time for the teammates to escape, great. But if you get tunneled, you will die. People don't want to play a match where their death is guaranteed.

Then why isn't the kill rate 100%? If it is clearly so futile that it works every single time, how do people beat it? Being defeatist about it is why it seems like it always works: You stop trying to find ways to counter it and it becomes acceptance. It can be extremely daunting when you have a bad game, but even just using each time you get tunneled as an opportunity to try different techniques/routing/mindgames/etc gives you more of a chance than 0. It even gives you more info to pull from whether it works or not, so you have a starting point on what to try or avoid next time. Sure, you've got a good chance of dying when you get tunnelled, but its nowhere near as hopeless as people make it out to be in most situations. And even in the event it is, the only true loss is one you learn nothing from, regardless of what the entity says.

Why isn't the kill rate 100%? Because not every Killer tunnels. Some Killers like to challenge themselves by not playing the easy way, and are willing to accept losses when they get outplayed.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038732#Comment_4038732

Focus on making tunneling you less rewarding instead of relying on perks to be a golden parachute. You'll open up a lot of build variety, rely on bailouts less, and maybe even find more fun in the game so as to not focus so hard on frustration. Even when you get tunnelled into a loss, the time you waste can easily lead to punishing the killer for trying to take the easy option. Talking about forced perks should center around things that players can't control, like accessibility or reducing guesswork, like Bond/Kindred(which everyone wants basekit, yet nobody runs)/Lightborn/old Shadowborne/old Spine Chill/etc. Improving as a player is always within our individual control, even when the game around us isn't.

Sure, but it's getting less and less possible with the way the devs have been weakening maps and loops across the board.

And yeah, I already have Kindred as a permanent perk in my build, as well as Soul Guard (to counter slugging). there are 4 survivors….thats 16 perks.

killer has only 4 perk slots, how is the killer going to have a hex build and aura build and gen slow down build? thats my point. the killer is limited to what build they can go for, you dont know what they have so you dont know what to prepare for so you prepare for the most common which from what others have said is tunneling.

You know I was being sarcastic, right? My point was that it's unrealistic to expect us to run a perk to counter something basekit like tunneling. Jesterkind explained that far more eloquently.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038637#Comment_4038637

to be fair, if tunneling is as common and unstoppable as people claim it to be then why wouldnt you run an entire build dedicated to countering tunneling? it seems people know what the issue is, they know there are counters to it and perks to aid in countering but do people use them? nope…. thats on them.

i mean if im constantly seeing a particular play style it makes sense to go prepared to counter it, like if everyone was bringing hex perks then i would start running anti hex builds. or if killers were slugging every match then i would bring anti slugging to the table. same with killers, if im finding a lot of people are looping pretty well in my matches then it makes sense to go anti loop killers or go anti loop builds. unless tunneling doesnt happen that often?

So you want us to run four perks to counter tunneling, hexes, aura-reading, gen slowdown, healing slowdown?

Sure, give me 20 more perk slots, and I'll be sure to run builds that counter everything the Killer can bring.

  • Yeah, I won't miss Haddonfield either…

  • That's the major thing I never liked about DS. Once it's used, the Killer can then freely tunnel you. (Unless you also have OTR, but who wants to run an entire build dedicated to tunnel-countering?)

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038505#Comment_4038505

If you meant what you said, then tunnelling might not be as prevalent as everyone says.

The perk is going to be free, so there's no reason not to bring it if tunnelling is such a common thing. And if you choose not bring it, then you have no one else to blame but yourself if you do get tunnelled. That's the risk you'll have to accept.

DS is a powerful perk, even if it doesn't get activated.

And if you choose not bring it, then you have no one else to blame but yourself if you do get tunnelled.

Brosis, don't blame Survivors for the Killer's choices and actions.

  • If you can stop tunneling when people use DS, you can stop tunneling when they don't.

  • @runningguy said:

nothing is efficient v a good looper lol thats the point. thats why its smart to pick the weak link and tunnel them out not the strong looper. its not as mindless of a tactic as people think it is. its strong but it can be countered and it has its downsides like all tactics should have.

makes no difference that some killers can do ok spreading hooks…. many cant. some survivors can loop a killer for 5 gens, does that mean everyone should be able to do that? not all killers want to play the same, and to expect all killers to play how you want them to play is very unrealistic. just like how me expecting or wanting survivors to play in a way i want them to play is unrealistic, you can want it, sure, you can want the moon to be made of cheese too but its just not going to be a reality

nothing is efficient v a good looper lol thats the point.

And yet looping is consistently being nerfed across the board. So there's no reason tunneling/camping/slugging shouldn't be nerfed across the board as well.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038150#Comment_4038150

why make the comment regarding survivors wanting killers to play other ways then? they slug and camp…. so whats the issue? you got your wish, killers found another way to play other than tunnel.

Well, you did ask what we wanted.  Killers have done quite well with spreading hooks, too, so I don't understand why so many are allergic to it.  And it's funny to me to claim that tunneling is the most optimal and efficient way to play while also acknowledging that it doesn't work against strong loopers.  So it's not the most efficient way, is it?

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038139#Comment_4038139

so your comment of just wanting killers to find other efficient ways of playing was just flat out incorrect because you have acknowledged at least 2 other ways killers can play and you dont like them either. it sounds like what you want is for the killer to not find other ways of playing but to only play 1 way which is not as efficient (spreading hooks).

you say looping isnt efficient if no one else is doing gens but tunneling isnt efficient if the person they are tunneling is a pro looper that loops the killer for 5 gens.

so your comment of just wanting killers to find other efficient ways of playing was just flat out incorrect because you have acknowledged at least 2 other ways killers can play and you dont like them either.

I never said I didn't like them. Not only are you giving false equivalents, but you're putting words in my mouth.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038134#Comment_4038134

countless people in these forums alone have openly said looping is the only thing a survivor can do. i have even mentioned playing stealth and hoards of people have come out saying "stealth is dead due to so much aura reading" and they maintain looping is the only way to play.

you ignored the point regarding killers have other ways to play and tunneling isnt the only way… yet all efficient tactics killer uses is hated. so its not "we want killers to find other ways to play efficiently" at all because they already have….camping and slugging.

Oh, there are other ways beyond camping and slugging too. Not that you would know that, because you don't give them a chance. But I've seen it plenty of times. Even in my games this morning.

As for looping? Looping isn't even efficient if no one else is doing gens.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4037924#Comment_4037924

Like saying looping is the only way to play survivor efficiently? or doing gens asap is the only way to play efficiently? ideally it would be nice if survivors found other ways to play efficiently (believe me, they do exist). killers have found many ways to play efficiently and each one of them survivors have not liked….tunneling, camping, slugging, S tier killers using meta perks.

Playing efficiently for Survivors requires all of those, and coordination. That's why SWF is so strong compared to solo.

Also, who said that looping is the only way to play Survivor efficiently? Why do you bring that up as if it's going to change the truth about tunneling?

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4037898#Comment_4037898

when killers get matched with high performing SWF often they tunnel by default. i know i do. i could have a match v all soloq memers that wont touch gens but i wont know that going into the match. im going to tunnel from the get go assuming its a team thats going to do gens. That doesnt mean im tunneling regardless of gen speeds, it means most of my matches gens fly so thats the type of matches i prepare for.

You expect me to hold off on tunneling and play less efficiently incase survivors are meming around?

What we want is for Killers to find other ways to play efficiently (because believe me, they do exist).  This Killer mindset that tunneling is the only way to play efficiently is the real problem, along with their refusal to acknowledge that.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4037852#Comment_4037852

not really sure how you can say its not true. As killer i never tunneled until i started getting matched with SWF more regularly and gens started to fly.

Its like playing 2 different games

    1. A mostly soloq match where players dont touch gens, do challenges like totems, dont work together which is seen more in low MMR, sure tunneling isnt needed which is why i never did it.
    2. A mostly SWF match (4 or 3 person, 2 x 2 person SWF) that dont do challenges, actually do gens and work together which is more common in higher MMR, this is where tunneling is needed because when players actually do gens instead of memeing around the gens fly which is why i started tunneling.

Simple race, gens v kills. fastest and most efficient way to kill is often to tunnel. Fastest and most efficient ways to do gens is often spread out, toolboxes, take chase away from gens, always have someone on gens at all times.

Is it fun for survivor to be tunneled out? no

Is it fun for the killer to have gens done and gates open in 5min? no

Both optimal plays and both reasonable in the race of gens v kills.

Because Killers still tunnel even when gens are dragging like molasses. Killers run four slowdown perks and still tunnel. Which shows that they will keep on tunneling even if gens were made slower by default. Which then means that gens speeds were not the reason they were tunneling to begin with.

  • Yeah, a massive BP reward isn't going to make getting tunneled feel any better, so I don't see the point.  And I would think of a lower MMR as a blessing in disguise.  When I see talk of high MMR, all I hear is "Survivors just bring genrush or DS/OTR," or "Killers always bring slowdown perks."  If people don't like facing those builds, why do they sweat so hard to raise their MMR?  Especially when you can't even see it?

  • "Stop Saying Killers Should be Punished for Playing Optimally"?

I say, Stop Saying That Killers Tunnel Because of Gen Speeds, because that's not true at all.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

One thing you'll find, and it's been like this since day one in 2016, is that anything survivors do that killers don't find fun is perfectly fine and okay because "they're just trying to survive".

If the killer tries to win and survivors don't like it, we need base kit handholds to make that more difficult. People who disagree are biased and don't have a real opinion because they don't know the history of the game.

Really? I thought it was the other way around. Killers are allowed to complain all they want, and their issues get fixed. Meanwhile, Survivors are told to suck it up and "get gud."

why would not instantly refund the walking dead chapter after seeing how low quality and low effort the audio part of it was???

I bought it, genuinely happy to have walking dead in dbd, just to hear Rick sounds like a black guy, and also nothing like his character, hear deryl from other ppl using his skin, sound nothing like himself, and hear michonne sound like a white woman, and nothing like herself.

I genuinely dont understand why you wouldnt refund that chapter after seeing how terrible it is. And then some players even continue buying skins for the walking dead characters. absolutely crazy….

Like we're getting fed garbage by the devs, and people continue to give them money… I've stopped spending money on the game like half a year ago by now.

Because I just want the characters. That's it. If you don't want to buy anything else in the game, that's fine, too.

while i agree cheating is an issue, shouldnt be happening and needs to stop…. its interesting that people are not saying "we need to find out why people are cheating so we can address the issue".

This take has been thrown about regarding DCing and go next… "we need to address why people are going next and DCing, not give penalties for it".

lack of anti cheat = cheaters run rampant. lack of DC penalty = people DC and go next.

I'd be curious to hear your take. What are your ideas for reasons people cheat? Particularly in cases like mine.

As for my take? There is literally no reason to cheat. Absolutely none.

  • I had to wonder that when I had my interaction with customer support this morning trying to report a hacker. In a nutshell, the interaction went something like this...

BHVR: I am sorry to hear that you encountered someone you believe is exploiting the game.

Have you reported this player in-game?

Me: Yes, I have reported the player in-game. I did so the last time I encountered them as well.

BHVR: There was some misunderstanding on our end, could you clarify if you reported the player in-game?

I just had to face-palm here. I clearly said that I had reported the player in-game. What was there to misunderstand?

(I hope I don't have to provide actual screencaps...)

  • I can confirm cheaters are running more rampant. I just had this lovely experience this morning...

    https://www.twitch.tv/cryptgirl1981/clip/SmellyHelplessWheelCclamChamp-HAj750NUsp8quAjU

And I had this same hacker this past weekend. It was so disappointing to see this person again after I had reported them last time...

  • Grades don't really mean anything anyway, so I wouldn't sweat over that. The other stuff you mentioned is frustrating. I've been getting more and more hacker Killers lately. This morning I had the same hacker I encountered this past weekend. Made us all insta-dead as soon as we spawned into the match. 0 points for me and two other teammates. I can't tell if the game treated that as me DC'ing, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

That's me with just about every pallet or window on any map. I don't know if it's a skill issue, ping issue, or what. I tend to avoid windows entirely because I know the Killer would get me before I reach it anyway. And they usually do.

  • Am I the only one who finds it odd that there was no pallet in this entire tile? Or am I blind and just didn't see it? This was like a tunneler's dream…

  • I play on PC with an Xbox controller. I'm grateful for the throwing animations, but yeah, tapping the button just to throw doesn't work, it just puts me in the aiming animation. So I also have to double-tap to throw the snowskull without aiming. And yeah, I have my interactions set to toggle as well.

  • I'm starting to wonder if we should just stop giving feedback entirely. Any issues we complain about either get ignored, or they get "fixed" in such a horrible way that I'd rather just keep dealing with the issues.

  • It's nice on occasion, especially when teammates give up, but I wouldn't want it to the norm.

It is not even P100.. My Feng is P68 and she gets maybe one event item/offering in 4 to 5 bloodwebs.. same for everyone else.. even the chars who are P1 xD It is so bad this year..

Yep, I'm seeing that now that I'm getting a few Prestige levels on Rick. Good thing I don't plan to use any of these offerings.

If they show perks in the pregame lobby, it'll be kill switched in less than 60 days. Why? Because new players will essentially be blocked from playing the game. Anytime a player sees yellow or green perks in the lobby, they will just dodge. It'll be nearly impossible for them to get a match. I know some of you on this forum have no problem with teaming up with new players, but sadly you'll be in the minority. Most will just quit and uninstall after waiting 10 to 15 minutes for a team willing to give them a chance.

Let's pray that BHVR's MMR fix will...well…fix that so that new players will only get matched with other new players.

My man… He maybe didn't need to. But his experience was that he is need to, and he cannot wait to try it out - because if he is right, then he lost. So yes, the genspeed is the problem since a very long time. All killer mains told when ruin was first changed that it will only make killers tunnel more, since their safety feeling about "I have time to play" is taken away. And look, it is proven, that we was right.

Right now many killers tunnels because they tend to. If they would experience that they can do anything against genspeed beside that, especially not with an S tier killer, the majority wouldn't do it.

And to be honest healspeed not helps either - no killer with right mind will choose somebody, who he need to hit twice, meanwhile another one get healed in 4-5 seconds. Because taking away one health state can take a realy long time. So of course they would choose the injured one, if they can.

Wasn't Ruin changed at the same time as when the Call of Brine/Eruption became meta? Killers still had all the slowdown back then.

And this Legion had the pin, so everyone was injured all the time.

I was mostly just having fun 😏

However in seriousness, what you define as sub standard is up to you. However to assume someone will play a certain way and avoid said player is literally prejudice...

    • Does having a Distortion or Lightweight immediately mean a Survivor will rat?
    • Does having a sabotage bulld, or a boon build, or a plunderer build, or an invocation build mean the player is auto throwing?
    • Does having an adept mean this player is a liability who is gonna throw the game?

You can make assumptions about this player, but that's all they are, assumptions... and even if you're right... why does that stop you from playing the game to the best of your ability? If anything, this is an opportunity to test yourself, and work on how you can play better.

Outside of my playful dig, it's not inaccurate to say avoiding a player because they MIGHT do something that hinders your chances of victory is gatekeeping the game at best, and cowardice at worst.

Legit if I was to see a David adept, I would straight up think "Alright David, let's go, we're getting you that adept". That to me is what a gamer should be striving to do.

I hate to be prejudice, but I've had more than enough experiences for them to be justified.

One time I played with a bully squad against Wesker. They were just screwing, trying to get all the blinds and what not while I was off all alone doing gens. Only got one done, because of course I also had to help with the hook saves. What should I have done better there?

    None.

The only correct response for dodging cause you're afraid your teammates have a sub standard build:

    😏

What exactly is a "sub standard" build?

To answer the question, I would agree that rat and sabo builds would be dodge-worthy, because I know they're not planning to do the objective. I already dodge lobbies when all three of my teammates are bringing flashlights.

If those anti-camping/slugging changes went through it would've destroyed the killer player experience. The survivor perks got reverted back to how they were. They've gotten base kit buffs over last 2 years or so getting base kit BT, deep wounds being reduced by 2 seconds across the board, a lot of QoL updates for them with the HUD update. +5 seconds added to it just recently. Killers gotten what since? a 5% faster m1 wipe and break, slightly more regress on kick very little compared to survivors.

The 4 biggest worst pain points that i've been seeing from killer players across different media on why they are quiting have been 1 of 4 things which hasn't once been address by the devs.

    • Survivor players having their feedback heard but not killers and the action of the devs shows it.
    • Killer Anxiety
    • Survivors being super toxic during end game chat
    • Gen can just fly sometimes and there's nothing you can do about it.
      • Make it even worse it's already been shown even though it's been canceled twice survivors are free to rush their objective with no punishment, but when the "evil" killer player rushes their objective. It becomes a problem that needs to be fixed.
      • Can't punish killers for rushing their objective unless there's also something to punish survivors for rushing their objective

I play this game almost 50/50 both sides and the killer players have to put up with so much more stress compared to the survivor role. I give my voice and feed back to the side that needs it most i just want this game to be succeed being fair for both sides. I'm still even upset they went overkill on nerfing the fog vials and there's been no update since for that item.

Survivor players having their feedback heard but not killers and the action of the devs shows it.

The fact that the devs cancelled the tunnel/slug reduction twice shows otherwise. The Survivor buffs from 2+ years ago would be obsolete by today's standards.

The 9.2 tunnel/slug reduction would have put the game in a much healthier state eventually. Yes, adjustments were needed, but it could have been made fairer for everyone if we (devs, Killers, and Survivors alike) had given it time to work with and work out the kinks rather than just shutting it down. Now we're all still stuck in the same boat, Survivors being frustrated with tunneling while Killers allegedly "need to" tunnel. We all know gen speeds are not the reason Killers tunnel, and that was just proven in one of my matches this morning when I got tunneled out by a Legion who ran all gen slowdown plus Legion pin. Why did he need to tunnel when he already had all the slowdown?

This is why tunneling needs to be disincentivized sooner rather than later.

Really hard to trust anyone's words when past actions and even the surveys says otherwise. Survivors had an option in surveys expressing why they're upset yet where's the surveys or even check boxes that let's killers express why they're upset with the game? Killers players really been feeling ignored lately when keep giving so many base kit buffs to help Survivors out.

What basekit buffs? After they canceled the tunneling/slugging reduction not once, but twice while keeping the Survivor perk nerfs that were meant to compensate for the system, I don't want to hear a word about Survivor buffs.

Wasn't intended to have voice coms either.. typical survivor player though, won't mention that part.

We still don't have voice comms, we have to use third-party software for that. That has nothing to do with DBD.
