The problem is, having a character Prestige 100 is currently mandatory as it's the only way to get back to infinite lvl 50 bloodwebs.
At least Prestige 3 was very optional.
Do you really want that for every single character though? I only main one survivor, so he's the only one I'd want to grind up to P100, once I get everyone else to P9. It'll be a long but worthwhile grind, I think, to show my dedication to my main guy while everyone else collects dust. XD

If you're so frustrated with the game that you're going to stop playing (DC or suicide on first hook, dying for hatch is another story) the moment something goes wrong, straight up stop queueing. Don't make your tilt other peoples problem. I have zero empathy for people who are going to babyrage and ruin their own teams game because they just don't want to bother.
When did I say that I was one of those people who DC or suicide on first hook? I only do that when I don't have a choice.

I understand it's frustrating for you. I don't d/c or kill myself unless there is a chance a final survivor can get hatch, I'll kill myself...but...I can't be upset with them. It sucks a lot, but...dude, the 4 slow down games with hard tunneling lately..I think so many people are just over it. I had a match against Legion earlier...27 minutes long. Thank goodness he was terrible, or it would have been so much worse. Dying Light/Thanat/Overcharge/Call of Brine....Double Mend time. Absolute suffering. Simply loading in and seeing Thanat when you repair a gen I think just insta frustrates people. Again, not saying it's okay, but punishing people by making them have a 15 minute penalty isn't the answer. Perhaps fixing the reason people are d/cing is the answer. I've had more D/Cs since this patch than I've had in over a year. I think that says something.
Right?? So much trash talk towards the people who DC or suicide on hook without even considering that they're people who have feelings as well. Does anyone even consider that they DC because they're just as frustrated with the game as you are, if not more so?

Yes, I do agree that survivors should not get free escapes in endgame. But killers shouldn't get free kills in endgame, either. How is it fair that DS and OTR deactivates in endgame but NOED and Rancor stays the same?
Probably because NOED and Rancor only activate in the endgame? Survivors have a couple of those as well (Hope, No One Left Behind, Adrenaline, etc.).
-
Whether it's 15 or 16 seconds, the killer usually succeeds at hooking the survivor 99% of the time anyway, so why is that an issue? Removing the great skill check zones would accomplish nothing.
-
I don't think there'll ever be a penalty for playing that way, as much as it sucks, because this patch actually buffed a Killer perk that encourages that playstyle (Knock Out).
-
If they did this, no one would ever get into a match, because people are either DC banned or dodging lobbies.
Leave penalties as they are.
-
This is exactly why I always run Kindred. When I can see the auras of my teammates when someone is on hook, it helps me make an intelligent decision of whether to unhook or not.
-
Killers have perks to help track down survivors, and even without perks, they've got scratch marks and crows that take off when survivors go by. There's no reason why Killers can't hunt down other survivors.
-
- "remove the ability of survivors to kill themselves on hook"
^ How would this even be possible? Are you suggesting nothing should happen when they fail a skill check?
-
Just because you've never seen a survivor run Kindred doesn't mean no one runs it. I ALWAYS run Kindred. ALWAYS. So needless to say, I would be very much in favor of having it as a base kit. It's kind of hard to decide on a build, having to restrict it to three perks, because my fourth perk always has to be Kindred.
-
With all the complaints about camping/tunneling going on, I would rather NOT see another defense against it getting nerfed or removed.

I'll trade you some of my teammates, who hear "60 seconds to unhook before stage 2" and mistake it for "16 seconds," and rush to unhook me in front of the killer.
Here are some reasons I don't unhook:
- I figure someone else is going to (it would be nice for solo survivors to communicate who's going for rescue / basekit Kindred)
- My gen is almost done and I don't want to risk Pop or Dead Man's
- I can see the killer proxy camping or trade camping with Kindred
- I think the match is lost because the killer is OP, sweaty, or both, and I'd rather make a hatch play if possible
- I don't have Borrowed Time and don't want to feed the killer
- Hex: Devour Hope is in play and I'm searching for the totem and don't want to give the killer anymore tokens
- You purposefully griefed me earlier in the match
Yep, these are the common reasons when I don't unhook, though personally I would add "because you're hooked in the basement" to my list.
-
If a teammate is just doing nothing, I just ignore them. If they royally screw me over (i.e. unhooking me in front of killer with no BT or picking me up from the ground), I'll just let myself die on hook.
Or if I'm able to "get back at them," I'd just refuse to unhook or pick them up.
-
I'll keep playing survivor after the patch, but I sure won't expect to survive anymore. My escape rate is already too low as it is. I'll experiment with a few different builds to see what suits me, and then maybe I'll actually get better? Who knows.
As another "who knows," they'll surely make some adjustments after a while. They've already said they'll be making additional changes with hotfixes and what now, so I'm curious to see what happens.
Sucks that I don't have anyone to swf with though.

I need looping practice, too!

Botany Knowledge, Leader, Self-Care. (Self-Care may change, depending on if any adjustments are made to that and Botany before the patch goes live.)
Alternatively, Distortion, Lightweight, Sole Survivor.
Or if I get a bunch of hex perk killers, I'll use Counterforce, Detective's Hunch, Inner Healing.
Or if I run out of medkits and addons, I use Ace in the Hole, Plunderer's Instinct, and Pharmacy.
And Kindred will always be the fourth perk in any build I use.
-
I need practice, too. I've been playing for just over and year and still feel like I can't do anything when I get chased.
