There is a way to immediately end the trial. If Survivors are teabagging at the exit, run at them and swing your weapon. Whether you get a hit or not, they'll always panic and run out. It's worked every single time for me.
-
No, I think this is a good change. People complained about Survivors getting stacked MFT+Hope, so why should Killers get haste stacks? They're already faster than Survivors at base.
Also, if they didn't deactivate Batteries Included for endgame, the effects would just be nerfed into the ground like every other perk they've nerfed.
-
I don't see any 1500 auric cell outfits. The ones you speak of are 1650, and 30% of that is indeed 1155.

Ruin + undying pop and pain res, that is a bit much lol
And don't forget Pentimento. I faced a killer running those two perks together and I was already done, lol.

Skull Merchant already has this ability, lol. And to a lesser extent, Trapper, too.

I certainly won't oppose a feature like this. If I'm getting hard tunneled off the first hook, I'd rather just go next. Many agree that getting tunneled is a miserable experience, but for me it just makes it even more miserable when the teammates are throwing everything in their futile attempts to save me. If the Killer wants me out that badly, then please, just let me out.
-
Myers' tombstone add-ons. Why tunnel someone when you can instantly delete Survivors with a single click?
-
From the new PTB patch notes, this is actually a bummer. I actually liked how Survivors started running in place when a Killer DC's...
-
Yeah, I remember the days when we were able to see the Survivor's aura during the mori animation, and I'm sad we can't anymore. I have a classic clip of it here...

If Killers are staying close enough to the hook to raise the meter, they aren't being very stealthy, even if Survivors couldn't see the meter.

what exactly is a bannable offense in relation to unsportsmanlike play, if any?
I feel like anytime I submit a report I get the usual 'this is not a bannable offense' response; like what else does the rep think a Ghostface is doing when he downs me as the last survivor, picks me up & drops me in front of the hook, and then teabags me til I bleed out?????
That sounds more like griefing than unsportsmanlike play.

I promise you there is more than “hoping he’s not good.” Learn the counterplay. It’s there.
Less time spent giving up because you don’t like a killer that you can’t loop like a regular m1 killer… is more time spent becoming a more skilled survivor.
You know, instead of just saying "get gud, learn counterplay," you can at least give some tips? That might be more helpful.
If you know the counterplay is there, then by all means, please share it.

Unless you were one of those people who bought the DLC from third-party people for $200+, I don't see what the problem is.
Even then, if you did buy one of those from someone else, that wasn't BHVR that you gave your money to, therefore not their responsibility to refund or compensate you.

I'm not saying you're wrong or it's you're fault, but it needs to differentiate between the two. How did this get past development? It's a rhetorical question fwiw. :(
It actually does differentiate between the two, but according to the devs, they have to be treated the same, otherwise players will abuse the "accidental DC," by intentionally unplugging their modem or something when they want to DC to avoid the penalty. Which I know doesn't seem fair for those who genuinely crash.

Gosh, I live for those games. Thank you so much for sharing!
I forgot to mention, that match sits in my highlight collection on Twitch, along with all the other "Nice Killer" games I've saved, so anyone can watch those at anytime. XD
-
And this is why the DC penalty needs to have a cap. People suggest 30 minutes, and that sounds reasonable to me.
But as it is, the DC penalty is only punishing the wrong people.
-
I've had some wholesome moments, but one in particular is on my mind right now...
I was Rebecca going against Nemesis in RPD. The match went normally until two teammates were dead. Nemesis found me and I dropped down a hole, ran and vaulted through a window. I turned around to see Nemesis just standing there staring from afar and then he left.
I worked on the last gen while Nemesis would occasionally come in, kick it, and leave again. He knew I was there, too, but kept leaving me. Finally he found the other teammate and killed her as I finished the last gen. Nemesis continued to stare at me from afar. Then he took out the zombies that were getting in my way and then opened the gate, even leaving the gate so I could leave. Of all the people to spare, spare the S.T.A.R.S. member, I thought. I've been shipping Rebecca and Nemesis ever since, writing fanfics about them and everything. XD
And interestingly, this match happened one year ago today. XD
-
I think a lot of them make sense to be locked to a specific role, but there are a few exceptions, I think. Also, there are way too many charms for both roles to be able to equip every one.
The role-locked charm that disappointed me the most was the Maurice milk carton charm, which is for Killers only. I wanted to put it on Kate, sadge... 😭
-
Yeah, it's another "it depends" thing for me. First down first hook is a little early to give up (unless it's a basement Trapper), but second hook depends on where the match is at. If I'm on second hook and we still have 4-5 gens to go still, then I'll let go. Or if I'm obviously getting tunneled off first hook, then I see no reason to fight it. If the Killer wants me out of the match that badly, then fine, I'll get out. I hope they're happy.

What you have failed to mention is that she had Deerstalker and Nurse's Calling, you had Distortion and a medkit, and everytime she slugged you she went away from you to stop your teammates from healing. Not only that, but the first time she slugged you 2 gens was already done and the second time there was 4. And how you got to the "conclusion" that she was harassing you is by one of your teammates joking by saying "vendetta against janes I guess".
In other words, she was not harassing you, she was slugging you as an strategy to gain time and probably avoid you getting healed without being able to see your aura.
That doesn't explain why I was the only person she was slugging. The fact that she ran Deerstalker was yet another reason I came to the conclusion that she targeted me and me alone for the slugging, so that she'd be able to find me no matter where I crawled (because iirc, Distortion doesn't work when you're slugged).
I believe she could have gotten the 4k if she wanted to, but she clearly didn't want to. If I was such a threat with Distortion and medkit, why didn't she just tunnel me out? She could've won easily after that.
So I still believe she wasn't really trying to win.

@Sava18 said:
I mean slugging can be strong but it is very risky compared to any other tactics(outside of sadako being a terrible killer design).
Yes you were not in control of that situation, but imagine if your teamates all dogpiled you within 3 seconds of each other? You'd be out and what she did would be meaningless.
I think she definitely could have done more and gotten more kills with two people on death hook, but base kit endurance after getting picked up would literally remove slugging from the game and slugging isn't that good right now to begin with.
Slugging definitely isn't good, and she definitely could have gotten more kills, but that wasn't her intention. Her intention was to harass me with the slugging, considering she hooked the teammates whenever she downed them as in normal gameplay, but she just left me slugged throughout the match. That is definitely targeted harassment. In the post-game chat, we wondered why she would do that, and we concluded that she might have a vendetta against Jane. Who knows...

Fine, then killers need basekit spirit fury and lightborn because it's not fun being pallet stunned and blinded throught the match
I'd be fine with that, since I rarely get to do blinds or pallet stuns.

Yeah but basekit endurance? Just imagine you can't do anything when you downed a survivor at the exit gates because one has FTP or you manage to down a survivor with twins and they just get free escape lol
And you can't say disable it in endgame because OP wants a free escape as shown in the video lol
It's not about the "free escape." It's about not getting slugged and bullied throughout the match. Another thing to notice is how far I was from the exit gate when I was initially downed. She could have hooked me then. She could have hooked me the previous times I was downed. I would've preferred to be tunneled out of the match than for the Killer to do this #########.

Due to the existence of the disconnection penalty survivors are far more likely to simply kill themselves on hook (which carries no penalty) than force disconnect.
While this has never been a good system, it is made even worse with the addition of bots. Now if someone chooses to disconnect they are replaced by a bot, but if they kill themselves on hook, they are out of the game entirely. Which of these actions is penalised? The one that replaces them with a bot... This needs to change.
I agree with this. If nothing else, the DC penalty needs to have a cap. As it is now, they do keep incentivizing throwing on hook. They gave us another reason to choose throwing on hook over DC'ing in a rather recent update where they removed the ability to spectate matches that you DC from...
I'd also vote to remove the bots, but that's probably not going to happen either...

your correct, that type of slugging is not fun when you get hit immediately when being picked up. soulguard is useless right now because slugging is not primary way killer ever choose to kill survivors but if it became threatened to be slugged then I could see Soulguard being base-kit. It is just that weakened a strategy that is chronically under-powered and under-utilized is not in the cards.
I guess we will see if they buff slugging in twin updates or if it will just be ghostface type update where very little changes and no one plays them because slugging.

Equip so and so perk argument vs make it basekit doesn't work in all cases, in this case you want a strong effect for free for something the devs clearly won't give because... its a strong effect for free on, we don't really need more endurance effects at the moment, we already have 8 endurance effects 2 basekit ones for things killers should do seems overkill
And hey, the devs went ahead and gave us the anti-facecamp feature rather than telling us to run Reassurance, so why not?
And those who argue that "Survivors don't need basekit everything" are just exaggerating. We have basekit endurance after being unhooked, we have the anti-facecamp mechanic now, and none of those things make us invincible. They can be played around quite easily in fact. They're just meant to give Survivors a fighting chance when they would otherwise have none. Being slug-camped by the Killer just to be insta-downed again after getting picked up, you have no chance. Unless you're lucky enough to have the right perks at the right time, but when does luck exist in DBD?
-
@Anti051 said:
You need no such thing, not_requested49 is right.
Plus it was the end of the match, what was the huntress supposed to do in that situation, hook you so the team could swarm and you're covered by basekit borrowed time out of the gate?
You can't just have endurance covering your butts all over the place.
It wasn't "just in that situation." She'd been slugging me throughout the match. Notice how I had no hook states while the teammates did. Notice how my bleedout timer was already halfway gone when she downed me at the start of that clip. Notice how she didn't go out of her way to slug everyone when she had the chance. She only put in enough effort to make sure I didn't get picked up. After I bled out, she did kill one of the teammates by actually hooking him. She singled me out for the bleedout just to be toxic and nothing more.
-
@not_requested49 said:
You already have tons of perks to help with that, buckle Up, WGLF, made for this, even one that YOU can equip to use on yourself, soul Guard
Everyone knows that "just use so-and-so perk" isn't the solution. In fact, I DID run Soul Guard for a while after this, and guess what? I haven't had any Killers slug me like that since, making it a wasted perk slot.
-
I once went against a Hag who had both Ruin and Pentimento. Who would even want to do gens with those? I don't know who cleansed what in order to have both hexes active, but I was already done.
It didn't help that I hate going against Hag regardless of what she runs... -
I would think the reason they don't put in Adam is because we already have an Adam (Francis). True, Tapp's first name is David, so they just call him Detective Tapp, but what are we going to call Adam Faulkner? Just Faulkner?
-
Absolutely not! This would be a nightmare for solo queue, who can't communicate with each other. It's bad enough that without Kindred, I would have no idea whether I would have to make the save or not, wondering if one of the teammates are going for it. If I can't see the aura of the hooked survivor, I would just keep working on the gen I'm on.

I have the same problem. I click the "connect" button and it takes me to a microsoft login screen for my BHVR account, when I am actually linked as a Steam account and play on a PC. I can't claim the items, because I don't have a Microsoft account to claim them on.
I couldn't get the Microsoft login to work either, BUT I checked my game anyway and still received the drops.
If you've claimed your drops on Twitch and connected your Twitch to your Behavior account and whichever platform you play the game on, try checking your game. Even though the main menu only popped up with the creepy pocket spa charm, I checked Elodie and the Hag and got their new items as well.

It doesn't help that BHVR actually requires video evidence to be able to take action. (I understand the reason for this, but I know it's so inconvenient for a lot of people.) I personally can't see any evidence of cheating from those screenshots alone.

You answered your own question
That doesn't explain why we have the mechanic.
-
The anti-facecamp mechanic is extremely easy to bypass, so it makes me question the usefulness of it. Why do we even have it if it's that easy to get around? Whether you facecamp without the mechanic, or stand at a safe enough distance to stop the meter with the mechanic, the result is the same. Teammates still stay away doing gens, and the hooked Survivor slowly and painfully dies on first hook...
-
I like the idea. I wouldn't mind seeing it tested at least once to see how it goes.
-
I wouldn't be opposed to removing basement, though I don't see it happening, since it's been a staple of the game for so long.
I would say no to removing hook timers, though. If there was no hook timer, there'd be a lot more opportunities to hold the game hostage.
-
I main Survivor, because Killer games are just boring to me. You patrol gens, find Survivors, chase Survivors, hook Survivors, and that's it. Snore.
As Survivor, you do gens, save teammates, heal teammates, loop the Killer, maybe do totems or chests occasionally. Not to mention trying to coordinate with your teammates to the best of your ability without direct communication. It's just so much more involved.
-
If I remember correctly, a long long time ago, someone suggested the idea of getting rid of the individual category BP offerings and just have three: 50% bonus in all categories, 75% in all categories, and 100% in all categories. That would cut down on the inventory clutter a lot.
-
How often do you end up queueing with the same people? I only have it happen once in a blue moon, so it hardly matters if you block anyone. Your chances of queueing up with them again should be very, very low as it is. Unless you have crossplay off, maybe?

so permanent settings is supposed to be more fair than letting everyone do what they want? Yeah, that makes sense...
It's about how other people react to your prestige level rather than whether you want to show it off.
For example, if this setting were a thing, and you see someone with their prestige hidden, what would you do? Assume they're a P100 and dodge, or troll, bully, or tunnel them out?

@Alen_Starkly said:
This challenge is one of the worst challenges ever. It causes so many people to throw. If you get downed just once, you already cannot get it in that match. It encourages awful stealthy plays, just to not get found by the killer. Extremely bad for the game, since a lot of people will play in a certain way to get it done.
I strongly encourage BHVR to change it to a different challenge.
This and get rid of the "Hide within 10 meters of the Killer for 60 seconds in a single trial" challenges as well. You literally cannot do anything else when you're trying to stay that close to the Killer without being spotted. Even eliminating the "single trial" requirement would be a huge improvement, as you can gradually progress on that challenge while playing more naturally.
-

"You seem to have an unreasonable expectation for survivors to be able to evade killers in even the most inconvenient situations. In my experience most survivor players can't do this and neither should they be expected to"
Survivors shouldn't be expected to evade the killer?
Survivors aren't really expected to evade the Killer. That's why Killers are faster by default and gain bloodlust as the chase goes on. When Survivors loop the Killer, their goal isn't necessarily to evade the Killer as much as it is to waste as much of the Killer's time as possible while their teammates work on gens. They know they're going to go down eventually, regardless of what they do.
-
There is the option to hide the endgame chat already. Just click the little arrow thingie next to the box you type in. So there's no need to remove it.
-
I'm not a fan of the idea. They already have Bloodlust, which allows them to move faster the longer the chase lasts.

I feel like Hag can be in 1 of 2 worlds. Either she is one of the weakest killers in the game or she can be a solid B+ - A tier. It all depends on how survivors deal with her traps. I think they are very easy to counter. Just crouch through them or wipe them away. With made for this and crappy map design it is very hard for Hags to do well consistently in the current game.
I'm not really sure how you rework her kit. I would say just make it so that her traps can't be removed. So crouch to avoid activating them or just run through it and ignore it. But I can see how that might be too much of a buff. What do you think should be done for her?
Absolutely not. She's unbearable enough as it is. While I'm grateful for the fact that you no longer need flashlights to remove her traps, the activation range is still ridiculous. Half the time the traps spring before they even come into view.

I understand the situation where the last 2 survivors are alive, one kills himself to try and give the remaining survivor a hatch, that's fine.
But when a survivor gets knocked down only ONE time, they get hooked ONE time and killer doesn't even camp/patrol the area, I see survivors literally "trying" to escape at 5 gens and missing skillchecks on 2nd stage thus "legally" leaving the game without disconnecting.
In most games trolling and ruining matches on purpose by dieing a lot, giving enemy opponent/team kills for free and other griefing moments are reportable and can be considered as bannable offense.
If a survivor joined a match only to get downed 10 seconds into the game and instead of rage quitting they decide to rage kill themselves, that's same griefing and should be punishable because it's clear the dude decided to ruin the match for survivor's team at least.
"I understand the situation where the last 2 survivors are alive, one kills himself to try and give the remaining survivor a hatch, that's fine."
^ This is probably the reason it's not bannable, because if it were reported as "unsportsmanlike," the devs wouldn't be able to tell that the person sacrificed themselves to give the last teammate a chance at the hatch, or if it was indeed an early game ragequit.
