Just because things were worse doesn't discredit current problems.
-
The tail attack is shorter than a lunge. So the tail is only better in situations where it can hit a survivor when a lunge couldn't.

It should not go over an hour
I see no reason why it can't. If you are having constant issues, figure them out. Don't ruin games for other people, because you don't want to fix your own issues.
No reasonable person is hitting over an hour with the current system since the first few disconnects are all under 15 minutes.
-
Then there's no reason to want to reduce the max penalty. Anyone getting over an hour penalty has an issue they need to resolved before they commit to playing a multiplayer game.

Harsher punishments? My dude the DC penalty is already at 3 days max (which is ridiculous enough) and it adds up quickly, regardless if you intentionally DC or not. What do you want it to be? A week? That would 100% kill the playerbase lmao
If you are getting yourself a week on DC penalties then you have issues to sort out on your end. Server issues are not that common and in the past when there was a widespread constant server issue going on, the penalties got disabled.
-
You made this topic yesterday and nothing you stated is exclusive to anon players.
There's no reason to have things in place to make it so you can avoid anon players as you can just lobby dodge if you feel this is such a huge issue.
-
There's no ranked mode, because DBD isn't that serious of a game for the general playerbase.
If you want to take DBD more seriously there is a competitive scene where tournaments are set up and ran in customs.

How it isn't, if it is?
You can put "killing self on hook" in the same category as "Ragequitting". It's in the "Unsportsman like conduct".
It's like "feeding" in any MOBA games like DOTA or LOL in order for your opponents to win a match faster.
The only thing different is that you avoiding the DC penalty.
We need the MOD to answer this correctly tho.
With Bots in the game it shouldn't be any difference.
Because the devs left the ability to let yourself die on hooks when they changed the 2nd hook state. They had the chance to remove the ability to let yourself die on hook, but did not. So it's clear the devs want survivors to give up whenever they feel like.
-
The devs intentionally left the mechanic to instant die on hook by not hitting 2 skill checks. They could have easily have just removed that feature when they reworked 2nd state from button mashing.
You can't really report players for using game mechanics.

I'm unable to understand how so many people fail to comprehend what the AFC system is and what it's supposed to do.
Survivors were just hoping it was going to be a magic system that allowed them to get free unhooks regardless of how the killer is playing.
-
BHVR had a chance to prevent easy deaths by not letting skipping 2 skillchecks instant kill you when they reworked hooks. As far as I'm concerned, BHVR supports doing this.
-
The skill check is fine, though I personally think overcharge shouldn't still trigger the skillcheck after the gen is fully regressed.
-
If you only care about healing yourself, then sure Med-kit rarity doesn't matter.
But the increased speed for altruistic healing can be very handy picking up slugs quickly.
Ultimately I see no issue with med-kits rewarding using them on other survivors, because when survivors can easily heal themselves it really harms the killer's ability to pressure with health states.
-
I see plenty of non-anon survivors give up immediately.
-
Do you have anon mode on? Because I do and I see lobby dodges quite a bit.
-
Nothing really has to be done about tunneling. The Killers goal is to kill survivors and tunneling still allows the target led survivor to engage with the game.
Not to mention you have perks and other teammates to help you fight against being tunneled.
I swear survivors just want dbd to hand them escapes regardless how will they play.
-
I'm going to say perk diversity is worse now then it was in the past.
In the past meta perks were stronger but there was less overall perks. Meaning there wasn't a lot of overlap in what perks did so if you wanted to regress gens better, you ran pop bc it was the only option not because all other options were worse.
Now we have significantly more perks with many oerks having the same role as others and there's just clear winners. Diversity is just much weaker because there's far more perks going practically unused because they serve no purpose.
-
The addons that allow Myers to kill survivors without even hitting them do need a change, but the specific combination you are talking about is probably the worst way to get kills. It takes a really long time to reach T3 with both addons and if a couple survivors just hide the entire time then it becomes impossible for Myers to ever hit T3.
It's not even that difficult to tell when the killer is running both either due to how long it takes and how Myers will focus solely on trying to build Play With Your Food and stalking as much as possible.
-
The killer's job is to kill you. If they want to focus you out, they are completely free to do so. If you are finding yourself getting tunneled out in every game, then it might be because you make yourself an easy target for the killer. It's a 25% chance the killer picks you to tunnel out over any other person on your team.
I'm sorry that the game doesn't make you literally impossible to kill without any sort of skill expression.
-
You have to be scanned 3 times in order to get a claw trap and receiving a claw trap inflicts damage (if injured, you get deep wounded) and broken. She has some addons to apply exhausted, oblivious, or manged/haemorrhage to survivors with a claw trap but those are not basekit features. There's 3 second buffer before you can get scanned again.
You can avoid being scanned by crouching, standing still, or avoiding the scan areas. Her drones do have a stealth mode where the scanning lines are invisible, but you can still on the drone the scanning sensor and it does light up.
If you get scanned with a claw trap on you, you get hindered. However, this appears to not have any buffer period so best to avoid drone areas when being chased with a claw trap.
-
Considering you can crouch walk through the drone area and standing still to avoid being scanned by drones, survivors already have the tools to avoid being scanned outside of chase. So I don't see a reason for the scanned to decay.
-
You described that the situation where a killer facecamps a survivor means the other survivors should stick to gens. Instead of having the 4th player wait 2 minutes to die on hook, they get the ability to unhook themselves and come back into the game. Even if it results them going right back on hook, it still buys the rest of the team more time.
Overall, it practically removes the main reason to facecamp since facecamping was never a good move to win games outside after the gens being done and that is to force a single survivor to sit there until they die.
-
You're looking at WoO as if it's a perk only useful if you don't know maps. But it does show you where unbroken pallets are and gives you more warning of what is nearby so you can better path in chase.
Pallets you generally get to reset with AMN are the ones the killer chose not to break meaning that pallet isn't one the killer is worried about.
If you prefer AMN, use it. No need to act superior, because you are using a perk that is more niche than the one players are using by significantly more.
-
Summoning haunts can refill your held item by 50%. It's a Halloween event thing, not a bug.
-
There's a limit to the number of the orbs that can be on the map and older ones do go away once the limit is reached. Not to mention early game against Oni you should be doing everything in your power to avoid getting hit since that's when the Oni is weakest.
Oni hardly needs nerfs and nerfing his power access hardly makes sense.
-
So after the gens are done and the killer has gotten someone on hook, where praytell should the killer go if they want to secure a kill before the remaining survivors escape since the survivors just have to open the exit gates.
-
@Annso_x said:
You can see a flashbang placed on top of gens with blastmine activated
The killer cannot see the blast mine placed on the gen.

They don't need to upgrade anything. Unreal Engine 4 not only is perfectly capable of having a replay system implemented, it already has it implemented. All you have to do is have a "5º player" acting as a recorder of the match and then implement the already available methods in the engine to get the file and reproduce it in game.
https://docs.unrealengine.com/4.27/en-US/TestingAndOptimization/ReplaySystem/
There is tutorials in Youtube that had the base implemented in 10 minutes.
Just because UE4 has the capability for replay system, doesn't mean DBD is running on a version that supports it.
Updating an engine even if it's just between different versions of the same edition can be a lot of work to update, because the names of functions can change or their parameters change. The devs have stated that their current engine does not support it, so just posting that it's something UE4 can support doesn't mean the devs are using the right version of UE4 for it.

the void goes away after a while, continuing pressuring other survivors and wait for them to be forced out when the void closes.

Are you on steam? Tuesday nights around this time is steam maintenance which can kick you out of a game. I've noticed instances of being kicked out of a match usually shows bloodpoints for other players.

Its not just an exploit.
I played a game as Pinhead a few days ago and saw a Feng who sabotaged a hook despite carrying a flashlight, and when i looked at the perks at the end screen it was just full meta with no Saboteur... I feel like there are a LOT more subtle cheaters than any of us can know, its just that with the smart ones you need a good eye for detail to see it. The fact that quite a few on this thread deny that this Ace was cheating despite seeing the footage themselves including slow-motion is prove how easily they get away with it.
This game would benefit so much from a replay system.
Even if the devs took the time to upgrade the base engine to support a replay system, many people aren't going to dive into their replays just to verify whether or not someone cheated if it wasn't blatantly obvious.
-
Boons are designed around being infinitely reusable and AoE. Meaning that any effect on them must be weak to offset. You'll either get a CoH situation where the boon is way too strong and warps the game around it or you get boons that are just not worth the effort to set up.
Probably for the best we haven't gotten more of them.

Xenomorph spawns survivors turrets that can be used to knock him out of his power. Use them.
Xenomorph doesn't need more nerfs when he's already in a bad spot.

Doesn't he have like 12 seconds cooldown if both charges are used? That's not really non existing..
The people who complain about killers having no cooldown often have never played that killer to realize that the cooldown exists. Happens all the time.
-
Survivors really just don't want killers to be able to ever win.
-
This isn't a bug.
It's an addon that hasn't been changed since it's addition to the game and needs to be adjusted, but it's not a bug.
-
Yesterday was rift fragments and those don't have a popup upon starting the game.
The event started at 2pm EST on Wednesday, so it might not be a new day yet for the next rewards.
-
We really don't need survivors to be stacking 5 health states. DBD isn't a 1v1.
-
The mechanic exists for the rare times where a survivor is on hook and the killer stands right in front of the hook with the goal of doing nothing else but forcing that one survivor to die on hook. Bonus points if the killer has instant down ability so trading isn't an option.
The best play for the team is for the other 3 to do gens, but that wasn't a very fun situation for the hooked survivor. So now the hooked survivor in that situation gets an opportunity to come back into the game when their teammates do the optimal play.

its literally called ANTI FACE CAMP. I don't see how this isn't clicking for survivors. the system is not designed for proxy camping. it's designed for killers that sit Infront of the survivor's face.
They just wanted a system that gave them free unhooks.
-
A couple years ago there was a big issue with cheaters and it took months for that to get resolved. This will probably follow a similiar timeline. Then once BHVR does whatever anti-cheat update they do and the banwave, cheaters will try to find new exploits for their cheats and we'll be in this position again.
It's an ongoing problem that sadly has no real solution, because it's not like cheaters are going to stop trying to cheat and they have a bunch of free accounts due to EGS.

I mean, sure, but obviously all consistent perks have caveats, I don't think a perk has to work in literally 100% of scenarios for it to be considered a viably consistent one.
It's kinda like saying all sources of healing, no matter which one or how potent, are inherently inconsistent because you might run into Plague. Sure, that's possible, it's not even unlikely, but it's a pretty acceptable risk. Perks like Resilience and Iron Will are super consistent but you won't end up using them as much against a stealth killer, that's their acceptable downside.
Inner Healing running the risk that someone else might have one of the (currently quite unpopular) totem perks does technically make it inconsistent, but I feel like that's splitting hairs on the same level as my other examples there.
I didn't mention plague as a reason why inner healing is inconsistent.
It's very clear you've already made up your mind on this and have no interest in actually seeing a point other than your own.

If that is your definition of niche perks, there must not be very many niche perks by your estimation.
After all, Inner Healing isn't inconsistent, because finding totems is 100% in your control. You aren't blindly stumbling around hoping one pops into existence in front of you-- you either have the spawn points memorised or you're bringing tools to help find them. That translates to consistent value, but a niche build in the latter case.
This is what I'm talking about when I say some perks can be made consistent. Inner Healing is one of them. I am 100% okay with calling a perk that requires additional perks to unlock its full value niche, though I wouldn't necessarily say that of IH specifically, but you can't also turn around and call that same perk inconsistent. Its consistency is in your hands, it's not random.
I never said finding totems was hard. I simply said that the perk requires you cleanse totems which you also compete against the other 3 survivors in trial. Plus some maps can be quite time consuming finding a totem like Midiwch, RPD, or The Game.
Inner Healing is not consistent and I have had many games where I struggled to find unbroken/unblessed totems because I had teammates doing totem cleansing challenges or running boons. If you want a reliable single use self heal, Plot Twist is far better because it's guaranteed.
-
We have perks to guarantee med-kits, flashlights, and toolboxes from chest. We don't really need survivors reliably pulling the item they want with 2x charges.
-
Niche perks are inconsistent, because they only work in a very specific situation that doesn't happen enough.
There's plenty of perks that are weak for various reasons. Values are too low, too many restrictions to use, or too high of a cooldown. And I think you are conflating perks that are weak with perks that are niche. Although niche perks can also be weak perks.
Inner Healing is inconsistent, because locating totems and cleansing them (while also hoping your teammates don't cleanse them) makes the perk a gamble. It's not weak, because it's a free heal and that's a good effect, but you could also run a med-kit and run a different perk for a single time heal and not risk never finding a totem. It can be situationally better than a med-kit due to anti-healing perks a killer could run, but if anti-healing builds got popular there's better tools survivors have then Inner Healing due to the fact the perk becomes weaker the more survivors running it.
Plus we have Plot Twist which is a more consistent version of Inner Healing.
-
Because the system isn't meant to prevent killers from camping. It's solely there to make it so a survivor stuck on hook while the killer is staring them down as their teammates do gens has an opportunity to get back into the game.
If the killer is standing right in front of the hook and no other survivors are nearby, it fills up in 20 seconds.
-
I thought chases were suppose to be the fun part of DBD

Its not about "Not Dying". Its about "dying prematurely while forced to do nothing".
I dont mind being killed.
Im frustrated that i cannot play the game i spend my money on.
Long time ago i changed to killer, and play surv only for daily/challange. But its still frustrating.
And no. I dont have to camp nor tunnel to kill.
Whole hanging on a hook mechanic is bad design. After being hooked, surv should hang them for some time, and be free in random place on a map after this time. Endurance should lasts untill performing conspicious actions for cumulative time of 10s or another surv is hooked.
There's no such thing as dying prematurely in dbd.
-
He left and came back to stop a save and then stayed to make sure you went to next stage.
Nearby survivors will slow the bar build up. If he was solely just facecamping you without anyone nearby the bar fills up really fast.
