"The killer popularity numbers are a bit more... concerning. If high rank players feel like they should pick Nurse so often, something's wrong."
Well yeah. I could tell you why just from looking at the killer roster.
-
@Yamaoka It doesn't matter what the rest of the map looks like. What you have listed is generally on this map (the window loop is not an infinite either) regardless of the generation.
Besides, it's not just things like this that bother me. It's the inconsistency. We still have double pallet loops spawning on other maps.
And you weren't in the game so don't make assumptions from a screenshot.
-
I don't get why so many of these killer mains want to nerf it.....
Loss of pressure, free escape and no counter. Yeah, not sure why killers don't like it.
-
You mean something like this? Only one pallet and one loop spawned in this area. This is half the map filled with nothing.
-
I don't care for stability or cosmetics.
I want balance.
-
It wouldn't matter.
Last time i saw a Dev play this game, they were at rank 15 running overcharge on a Hag.
They don't understand what high level play is.
-
Unfortunately, the balance is heavily survivor sided. This is coming from someone with 2k hours and plays both sides.
The weaker killers keep getting weaker and the survivors keep getting stronger.
So no, i believe that Billy and Nurse are probably the most balanced killers.
-
-
There is no counter to MoM.
Killers hate the perk for the exact same reasons they hated DS.
Free escape, loss of pressure and no counter. It's also an indirect nerf to M1 killers.
The condition doesn't matter and neither does the aura reading.
Its a perk that rewards survivors for making mistakes and killers are relying on those mistakes to order to catch the survivor.
-
@zaozaoxx said:
That's not the case bro.
What makes human escape from killer is in general not they are smarter or more skillful than killer.
But is those toxic perks gives them to much chances.
I hope you dont take those ######### , I mean MoM, DS you know.
They do have a lot of 'second chance' perks but at a higher skill level, you rely in your ability.
You don't get better if you rely on perks.
-
People will just queue at the same time and dodge if they are not in their lobby with a friend. You know, exactly what they did before the SWF's.
-
No.
MYC is fine the way it is and should not reward survivors.
If you don't want to leave scratch marks then walk.

You completely missed my point. It was a comparison. You said that physicallyblocking the hook as a killer was a bug/exploit. I said it wasnt because you are standing there, blocking the way. I then compared it to trapping the feet of a hooked survivor. I said that I believe you probably believe that this was an exploit also. Ironically, you are the one dodging my question.
Are you being disingenuous on purpose?
As said in my original post. I'm not going to read you list of 'nerfs' when there are exploits and bugs listed that you can no longer abuse.
If you considered exploits and bugs nerfs, which i assume you do since they are listed as nerfs, then you're probably one to abuse them, and in that case, i will leave the conversation because i don't associate myself with people like that.

>physically blocking the survivors is an exploit
Your argument would hold more ground if you used the blinking on top of the shack fix. I bet u believe that trapping at the the feet of a hooked survivor is an exploit too?
@Cali You're argument would be more valid if you didn't dodge my question.
I haven't mention anything about traps being place in front of the hook as that is not part of the conversation. Do not mislead others.
Do you consider a known issue or exploit a nerf because it was removed?
-
The first one listed is an exploit.
So removing a known issue or exploit is now considered a nerf because you can't abuse it anymore?
-
@Cali I literally gave you my reasoning in my first post. :/
-
It's not teabagging, it's crouch spamming.
Teabagging is when you do it over another persons face.
There is no reason to get upset over an in game action of a guy/girl pressing ctrl on there keyboard, or whatever button you use on console.
They don't think that they think they are elite or entitled. I do this to killers all the time because it can cause the killer to make mistakes. I know this, because i play killer too.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you do in end game, the match is already over.
Once you have played enough hours, you will learn to ignore it.
-
Stopped reading after the second line.
A general fix or fixing something that was unintentional is not a nerf.
-
It doesn't matter.
You will lose to a good SWF's regardless if they have comms or not.
You will beat trash SWF's regardless if they have comms or not.
Voice comms with barely give players an advantage because most, if not all players are not blind and rotate their camera.
The only real advantage would be a player dying earlier and can tell you what perks they are running, which was fixed.
-
Have you thought of adding rewards or seasonal cosmetics to give players the incentive to rank up and having ranks actually mean something instead of just meaning harder players?

What do you mean "aren't getting dedicated servers" it is not something you get it is the way the games are hosted. If your internet is bad and you play killer all the time (which is what I assume you means by not getting dedicated servers) then you are lagging out every survivor that gets into your lobby. How is it fair that one side has to deal with ######### games because you have ######### internet. Dedicated servers will make the game better after they have settled because there will be no more "killer hit when they shouldn't have because they are hosting" no more "rubberbanding survivors because their connection to the killer is spicier than someone else's" and no more lag switchers.
@Black_Fence Well, what i mean is, my region will not have dedicated servers to play on with reasonable ping., and yes i am talking about oceanic servers. The servers i will be connecting to will be over 150+ ping, not allowing me to play efficiently on both killer and survivor side, which in turn will ruin the game for me.
@fluffybunny It will be noticeable. That slight delay will hurt when you are vs'ing players that have 30+ ping to the server.
While the server list may not be final, but yeah, i feel like we will be an after thought.
-
For those like myself who aren't getting dedicated servers, i believe i will probably quit the game because 150+ ping servers will make the game unplayable.
it makes me kind of upset that the Devs are killing the game for me.
-
Pretty much this.
-
Being from Australia i highly doubt we will be getting any dedicated server so i'm going to be disappointed if i'm going to be forced to stop playing a game i enjoy, and one i spent money on and supported.
150+ ping will be a deal breaker for me as its usually unplayable at this point with P2P.
Just wanted to know before sinking anymore money into this game.
-
Pigs going to get nerfed then. Calling it now.
Dev's like to nerf the trash killers and keep Billy and Nurse on top.
-
@Peanits said:
I would suggest giving it a try before jumping to conclusions. It will be on the PTB before the changes go live and if need be, we can always make changes between the PTB and live.
Why would i? Have you not read the update? How is completely nerfing a killer into the ground worth my time for testing? What?
How is it that killers that are not viable at red ranks are getting nerfed in the first place? Have you ever compared your current roster of killers to Billy and Nurse in viability?
Do you even play your own game?
smh
-
I don't like vs'ing Legion, but gutting his power is not the answer.
His power needs to be reworked. no-one is now going to play Legion and i won't be recommending the chapter or this game with killer ruining decisions.
-
Might as well delete him now and refund those who purchased the killer.
Recommending those who do not own the chapter to not bother.
No point in purchasing a powerless killer.
-
No it's not. I'm not going to point out the obvious reasons since everyone else has.
If you think that this is an exploit, then you need to uninstall and come back when you show some signs of intelligence.
-
They're too powerful. Whoever says they aren't obviously hasn't played killer enough.
@drunky26 I play both killer and survivor and flashlight are possibly the weakest item in game. You can also use sound to find their location as well, or put you in the right path.
If you know someone has a flashlight, do a quick area check if in the open. The timeframe to get a flashlight blind has been decreased already so it is still quite hard to pull off.
As someone who has played countless hours as killer, toolboxes are the strongest item in game.
-
So far as killer, i haven't had an issue with MoM so I don't understand what the issue is.
I haven't lost a game due to this single perk, unlike the old DS.

I don't know about you, but for me it was more like a lobby simulator with the new matchmaking system so I'm quite happy it got reverted.
Don't forget that perfection does never come in 1 go, it requires multiple tries.
Pretty much this. Most of the killer mains i know had to play survivor to get games.
5 mins of waiting for a lobby then 10 mins to get a game, then have people dc.
-
The fact that you believe it's 'annoying' as survivor is probably because your skill level isn't on par with your skill as a killer.
As someone who has always played both sides at high ranks, noed is by far one of the worst perks in the game. I say this because at my level of play, most games are over before end game.
People say 'just do totems' because survivors won't get off gens. If you have ever played survivor at a high level, you don't even bother looking for ruin or any lit totem. Hell, people will let you die on hook sometimes just to finish gens instead.
This is the reason that noed exists. It's to stop you from just sitting on gens or 'gen rushing'.
The reason DS got reworked is because the perk was broken as there is no counterability.
You have an entire game to counter noed. You have perks and items to help find totems. Don't complain about something when you choose not to do something about it.
-
I personally think his the weakest killer in the game, (yes, below Freddy).
His power does nothing, apart from ending a loop earlier, in which you just run to the next loop.
-
Nerfing mediocre killers while Billy and Nurse exist is stupid.
If the killers power is below the state of Billy and Nurse, it should be buffed or left alone, not nerfed into the ground.
Dev's are just stupid and catered to the community that screamed she's too strong.
-
Hard to rank up at low ranks since you need the the killer to have half a brain to rank up.
Rank 1 survivor / killer that cannot get out of green ranks do to killers being garbage.
-
I've noticed everyone has went back to playing viable killers 2 days after the DLC has dropped. Since then i haven't had a single Plague game.
I'm unsure why mediocre killers have to be nerfed while you still have high tier killers that still rule the game, yet you won't touch them.
Please learn to balance killers instead of bowing to the will of the community.
-
Killer is easy. Survivor is easier.
Hitboxes and latency have nothing to do with aim assist. Problems like this will be fixed with dedicated servers.
-
@GrootDude said:
Also @CronaWins they have other issues they have to work out sometimes I’m imagining the bear traps were low on the list.
And that's exactly the problem. Because they keep implementing higher priority issues every patch, nothing gets done. The whole point of a patch is to 'patch', not break.
Hell, DBD have a PTB so the public can even test to make sure it's eveything's working which most games don't, and yet the issues don't get fixed and they implement the problems anyway.
Concerning the Trapper addons, it may be a lower priority, but at least make sure people in game are aware they don't work, instead of giving the impression that they aren't broken.
Wraith audio addons are currently broken. Both the map wide bell and the silent bell do not work. Are they going to pretend they do work for another 9 months so killers keep running addons that do absolutely nothing?
I love the game. I've put 3k hours into it, but i'm not going to pretend they don't have a magnitude of issues. Changing the rank systems shouldn't take priority over game issues.
-
@GrootDude said:
“Simple crap” try making your own game.
The problem isn't that they break something, it's that they don't bother fixing it after the fact. We get cosmetics instead of fixes.
It's been close to a year and they have finally fixed an issue with with darken trap addons for Trapper. Are you telling me that it took 9 months of coding to fix that issue?
-
Noed is a mediocre perk, run by mediocre killers, complained about by mediocre survivors.
-
I had survivors 3 gen themselves then blame me for 'camping gens'.
-
I play both killer and survivor at high ranks.
Second objective would be fine, but it would have to tie in with the main objective.
Billy and Nurse are the most balanced killers in the game. Most killers below them are not viable at higher ranks due to lack of pressure.
NOED doesn't need to be touched. It's a mediocre perk and easily counter-able.
-
Freddy isn't hard, it's that people judge him based on his chase ability, when Freddy is about control. Freddy is about information gathering, and smart players know how to use that information. Aimlessly chasing like every other killer is exactly why people lose and jump on the 'Freddy is bad" bandwagon.
-
I have 2k hours playing both killer and survivor at red ranks.
Survivors are much stronger.
-
It's a mediocre perk.
The perk is to counter gen rushing.
Survivors don't want to do totems.
Only lower ranked killers run it.
Pretty much survivors expect a free escape every game and now that their perk for a free escape has been reworked, they want nerfs to killer perks that deny them a free escape.
-
"This is ######### illegal dud. Their banning me for no reason".

So what we've learned recently...
Killers: NERF THEIR CRUTCH PERK!!
DS gets nerfed
Survivors: Ok now you nerf your crutch perk too so that it's fair
Killers: Nuh-uh!
The childish entitlement.
DS isn't counter-able and relies on the survivor to miss the skill check. Survivors get a free escape and killer loses needed pressure.
Noed is one of 5 totems you can break and have the entire game time to do so.
I still fail to see the comparison.
Not to mention the new DS perk is going to be super strong end game anyway, it's just removing the early pressure loss for killer.
Noed is a mediocre perk and any decent killer will win before all 5 gens are completed. Survivors already move onto complaining about other perks when killers start getting 'sweaty' to win, like it is at rank 1 currently.
You say "any decent killer will win before all 5 gens are completed".
So then if the game is easy for decent killers to win, does that not prove NOED is too much? If the killer can pressure survivors that much then how are they expected to cleanse the totems? Does it not boost a good player with a strong killer into OP territory?
And if a decent killer can win like that, then does it not say that people that cant just need to get better? Why should they have a free boost to grant them a few kills? Out of pity?
People compare noed and ds because both perks can change the outcome of the game in an instant and really screw the other side even if they played well.
No perks should be able to swing the game so easily. BBQ can't do it, Sprint Burst can't do it. Both are really strong but can't turn the tide of the game in an instant.
Not really. People who rely on NOED to win the game aren't seen at higher ranks. People that run NOED as a safety perk for kills, don't get better at the game.
It's not going to boost a good player, because they know what it takes to win and know what they have to do for a 4K mid game, and that's with any killer.
If a killer has that much pressure on the map that you 'can't do totems', then the game isn't going to get into end game. You have already lost at that point.
And no, i don't think NOED changes the game much at all because it's already at the end of the game, and it can STILL be countered when it's active. It's not a game changing perk.
DS on the other hand is. There is no counter. It's not so much that the survivor get a free escape, it's the loss of pressure. You need that early game pressure to win the game as killer. Having a perk that takes that away from you is much stronger then a perk that you can only use at the end of the game.
I play both killer and survivor at rank 1 and i've played around 2k hours. I can tell you from my experience of using DS myself, that it needed the rework. And as the killer side of me who has ran NOED before, thinks it's a waste of a perk slot. I think it belongs exactly where it is.
A problem i have, is that there are killers with insta downs throughout the match as their power (or addon). I've never heard anyone complain about a Billy having an insta down the entire game, which is very easy to land, but one at the end of the game is apparently a no-no? That doesn't make sense to me.
