Yeah Botany never used to work with SC, but now that it does it's worth taking if you pair them. I stopped using SC as a crutch and then they nerfed healing, rendering it useless. I'm serious, between the nerf, Legion, Plague, and Resilience, why on earth would I want to heal? It takes a full minute with killers running Butcher, Thana, Phobia, etc. I can just blitz a gen instead. Which has led to the genrush meta. It sucks for both sides.
*^ meant Thana & the clown phobia perks
-
It's extremely annoying and I hate that they last so long. You can't tell if the killer is approaching from a hook direction. Didn't I read in the PTB notes or something that they intend to reduce the time on them? Bubbles, I think.
-
I agree. On my old platform I got the Killer Adepts relatively easily, since back then (I think) it was only 4k and nothing more.
This time, however, it took several games apiece, and in the end I got them with DC's and perhaps a few flukes. I got lucky they unlocked. Some of the Achievements could be easier, like anything that requires a hundred of something? Really? Maybe in time, sure, but 100 huntress axes at looong range? Get out of here. Meyers only has to Tier Up like 100 times, something he does naturally and takes no skill or effort.
-
I'd like a "hey this is for fun" mode of some sort, but the moment they add rewards to ranked I'm going right back. And if killers rank easy with only 2 kills, the plus side is you would have more in later ranks so games would be easier to get but they'd have a harder time (perhaps, not necessarily). I don't want anyone on either side in a spot where it seems like they're far outclassed by the skill of the other team. I can go into a R10 Survivor match and find my team destroyed by a good Spirit or Billy (or Nurse, of course) with 5 gens left and we're not all clustered around for saves. It's impressive, really.
-
I like the Laurie we got, if you use the secondary hairstyle with the original outfit.
-
She can make them Broken in mere moments and down them in one hit because she moves faster than they do. Sickness can tell you where a survivor is or what has been touched based on what you've recently vomited on. It can also prevent stealth with the gas cloud. Not everyone is a godlike survivor who can last through several gens while also in the Broken status. To balance around R1 players would be to the detriment of the game and the majority of its playerbase.
-
Y'all wouldn't rather looking good while putting up with the same old issues? Claudette's new dress will look great swishing around when I'm stuck with the Wiggle bug once again.
-
And people thought No Mither was a silly perk. Who's usin' it now? >:}
-
You don't think you guys are getting a little carried away with this? The item is already dropped and cannot be instantly re-acquired (assuming the killer is still standing there trying to chase you). You might never have a chance to search or even find it again. Plus, another hit will cause the same problem and reduce it's charge.
If you want to make it stronger, you already have a perk that consumes them super-fast. Watch how fast it works in a video sometime, it makes a big difference. This is not the kind of perk that needs a buff.
-
I go easier on the team if there's a DC, it's just not really fair otherwise, for anyone. You can still get plenty of points by chasing, hooking, breaking, etc. They all get 2 hooks and then usually escape, unless someone doesn't go for a save, which I've been seeing a lot of lately. It's sad. I'm across the map, just go save them.
-
I know emotes are super popular but I despise them. I think the makeshift crouching is the worst thing we should have. I don't want to see people dancing and rubbing it in your face every time they drop a pallet. Yeah, good job, pallets exist. You pressed a button and now I have to press a button.
-
I'd buy a Season Pass if you got a good discount over individual chapters, but then would it include licensed content? Probably not, right?

Make it a woman in a big chicken suit and I'm sold.

It grants an extra hit, as a surprise. It's powerful, yes, but only when used for saves at the end. The times I've seen people take another hit and get downed almost immediately are far, far more common than someone getting out of a gate. I'm not saying it isn't a problem, and when all four are running this it's almost a cakewalk; not fun. I strongly disagree it should be limited just to one person, though. That's unfair to everyone, especially solo players.
-
I'd love to play as the older Laurie. I hope they can still get it somehow. I'm sure JLC wouldn't mind! Why not ask her on Twitter or something?
-
And that's a bad thing? I kid, I checked it out and I see what you mean. I was more impressed with Claudette's dress (and her hair!) but I dislike the black part beneath her dress. Still, it was nice to see these dresses! Most of the outfits are pants & top, with a few skirts thrown in for variety.
-
Thanatophobia suits that need quite nicely.
-
I really wanna make a joke here, but I think most people won't realize I'm just joking... I do feel your pain, and wish it wasn't magnificent Ash that got the powerful perk, so people give undue hate to him for that reason. Although Buckle Up is pretty weak, so maybe they thought it would balance out? I don't know, I'm just a big Bruce fan.
-
I like the parts idea, but I think they should be generic and not coded. I see people taking a part and just running off with it. You would be unable to complete the gen if it was one part for one specific gen.
-
I watched the video. Survivors often spawn next to a gen, so if they're all separate, they can bang them out really fast. In this case, two spawned together and hit one early. The others, working on their gens, came a while later. Trapping killers like Hag have to take time to set up their traps all over, reducing their early pressure or map presence. Also, even with the rush, he got 4k. He used the perks to his advantage to counter the rush issue.
I'm not saying the "rush" isn't a problem. I lose a few gens just trying to find survivors sometimes, it happens to everyone. But with this specific killer type, and the fact that he won with powerful perks, this isn't an example of the problem. Changes need to be made the way gens work, I think, aside from simply extending the time necessary to do them. Given that there are killers with different powers, this can become incredibly difficult to do, since a game like this should not be balanced around only the elite players. It would become unfair to the majority or newer or more average players.
Balancing all these things with powers, perks, and then items is not easy. That's why they continue to listen to feedback and alter the game as it needs. We just got an EGC that addresses some issues killers have had for a while. I wonder what else we'll get in the future?
-
This might sound silly, but what if Survivors had to go get a bucket of water or something to put out the Hex?
-
I really think that six perks are going to break the game. There are so many different builds you could do that would frustrate so many people. Is that the game we want to be playing? I thought some of us wanted a perkless mode, or to simplify things a bit.
-
Yes please! Even if they have to rework the powers or perks or anything, the concept is really cool and I love stuff like that.

I am not looking forward to this. The woman in black would be a great addition to the game and her map can be the marsh manor. Another letdown for me
Great, now I want that a whole lot. That map would be awesome, and the killer would be so cool!
-
Maybe if you had a set amount, you could get something. The Devotion idea would also be great, since I'm approaching D2 on my second system now and it would be nice to have bonus rewards for continued play.
-
That would remove some of the stealth killers' abilities, and the reason people use them. I know jump scares are great in a horror game, but giving the stealth power to every killer would be difficult to deal with. M&A already does the same thing, to a degree, especially with how popular it is today when added to killers that alter their radius or have low areas to begin with. A lot of (let's say 'devious') players use Insidious specifically as a build, so you would be taking away a big part of their play to change it in that way.
Now, we all hate to be surprised by a Nurse with NOED popping out of the exit gates, but it's something we're going to have to deal with as long as it's in the game. She can only guard one, after all.
-
If we get Jill or Claire, absolutely. Especially if they can license Jill's RE5 look as well. No lie, that bodysuit would sell a lot of DLC and they'd make a good amount of money.
Mr. X as a killer would fit very well, and right around the popularity of the Remake2 release. I think it's a good idea. I don't know if they should be scrounging for every other game's killers and protagonists, but as fans of the genre (or games in general) the potential is there to make a lot of people happy with their beloved crossovers. I've been playing RE since the very first, so naturally I would be interested in something like this.
-
There are suggestions that the Legion change here is just to hold people over until they can do something different, but would take time. If the new Legion isn't working for the majority of people, I'm sure they'll do something again. It will be good to take Susie out again.
-
Plague is far from useless. In low ranks she just runs around vomiting, but in higher ranks she can make someone Broken in record time and down them shortly after entering a chase. You can also use the sickness as indicators where survivors are, if they choose to repair a Gen that's infected (since a lot of people won't heal anyway and don't want to wait). I love Plague, she's one of my three favorite killers!
-
I would definitely pay for Sidney as a survivor, even as just a new skin rather than care whatever perks she might come with.
We don't always need new perks; just the models are great for variety.
-
If they're going for all the licenses that they can get (for cheap), we may end up with both. That would be neat! And you wouldn't have to choose.

I'm all for natural chest-traps, but not killing you if you're already injured. That would be far too powerful.
-
Drew Barrymore was a cameo appearance in that movie. Prescott nailed the entire series. It would be travesty to disregard her as the counterpiece to Ghostface.
-
I'm not a fan of empty chests, but a huge fan of trapped chests or mimics. These would put you into the Injured status, but not down you if you were already injured to make it fair. Maybe the Entity creates look-alikes for the survivors, and attacks them directly.
-
I'd look forward to a Scream chapter, but aren't the in-house Chapter updates all original content? I thought things like Leatherface and Meyers were just added in whenever they were ready. Or am I wrong? I don't know if they came according to schedules or anything. I've been with Scream since the beginning, so I'm not opposed to getting it at all.
-
They don't really have physical bodies anymore, do they? Also, I like how it's all generic. It saves both framerate, super-gore factor, and just leaves things up to the imagination. That's why even getting cut with a chainsaw just makes blood come out. They can get hooked over and over without loss of dexterity.
-
Oh yeah but I think it's just a visual representation of your progress. It works this way, also they're created by the Entity so things don't always follow the world we know, same with how the maps are. It tries to create a structure but we end up with walls all over because our reality is alien to it.
-
Yeah the originals were the best by far. And I agree Pinhead wasn't the chasing/slashing type, there were always Cenobites for that.
How about the old butler-y guy from Phantasm? He stalks around attacking you, and his power is to release metallic orbs that fly around and you have to avoid them just like in the movie. And everyone finds it boring, just like in the movie.
-
By locking cosmetics behind some timed convenience you're only upsetting people. What if you couldn't play during that time? You still want the rewards, and if you couldn't earn them you can still acquire them which makes you happy, and the extra income makes the devs happy so they can keep supporting the game we all love. It's a winning situation for everyone involved. The logic that drives people to be unique with rewards shouldn't exist in a free equal society. If you want to be different, just wear unpopular color combinations. Each character has recolors you can get for cheap and no one ever uses them.
-
There aren't too many rarely-used perks that can change a game outside of some specific encounters, but people are finding a lot of the other perks are pretty powerful, which is nice. It's boring seeing the same things all the time, so when a rare Devour Hope triggers and surprises you all halfway through a game, it can be a great scare.
I started using Hope on a character that had no other perks unlocked and it's fun. It's not as strong as Adrenaline, it's very situational, and it really only helps you make it to a gate most of the time (if you even survive to the end) but when trying to make a save or mind-game a killer standing between you and the exit, it can be pretty neat to have.
I also started using Distortion since I got it, and I love this perk. The info I get whether or not it triggers is worthwhile because I know if I have to try and hide or not. Sometimes I'm medkit healing myself and I know the killer has Nurse's Calling since it triggers. Or if I have to hide later on because of B&C. I wish it gave a temporary distorted effect in your survivor like the graphic but I still like it.
No hate on this one, I prestiged and the only perk I could get beside base was Deja Vu. I slapped it on as a joke and I keep it now (until much better stuff comes). This perk will prevent you from ever having gens clustered together. It triggers for a minute every time a gen is done, showing you the current closest gens, no matter where they are. At the beginning it stops the tri-gen strategy Doctor makes so irritating, but later on all the gens are so far apart it really helps the survivors lose some of the pressure, especially with slower killers. I'd recommend everyone giving it a try.
I know the topic says one perk but there's a bunch of rarely seen perks that can be helpful. I'm trying to spread the word!
-
No, I though this was about the last piston slowly sliding into place when you first start working on a gen. Why's that one moving? It's weird, right?
*I mean, they're sticking their hands into a moving engine. That would be far more dangerous than the pistons, but I don't want them to change the animations.
-
The killer doesn't need help against solo survivors, and the only players who can run them around for five minutes are really skilled anyway, so there's going to be some people you can't catch. I think too many people survive but also, if they're playing really well all match, they deserve to escape, or at least get a lot of points to show for it. It's frustrating to do well all game only to have one minor mistake kill you on first hook when everyone else leaves.
-
Maniac Cop, there's an obscure reference. No Pumpkinhead?
I like your Thing idea, that's one of my fav movies and spreading paranoia among the survivors would be an amazing in the gameplay perspective where you can't trust the other guy on the gen (or wandering nearby, if they can't interact).
-
@Peasant Then I salute you good sir! I love the scare-factor in this game. Scratched Mirror Meyers in Lerys Memorial is one of the best times a survivor can have!
-
I like it a lot, too. I'm terrible at chases, and I think it might help me improve. I also think that chocolate is more valuable than diamonds, so take that how you will.
My ideal setup is No Mither, Resilience, Tenacity, and perhaps any of: Borrowed Time, Distortion, Lightweight, Exhaustion Perk, WGLF, etc. I took This Can't Be Happening once and my Great check accuracy went down, go figure.
I just think it's a really neat perk that changes the way you play a game, kind of like Object of Obsession. When I first used that perk, it was so tense! Not being able to look anywhere near the killer for fear of giving yourself away, I usually play stealthy since I'm bad at chases. I wish we had more perks that changed the playstyle like these two. No Mither holds a special place in my heart.
-
I know Left Behind is getting a massive buff, although... I'm still a little confused as I heard that once the EGC actually begins, all the generators become locked. So it will trigger, but will become useless to you. I don't know.
Hope will become a tier higher, and you'll see it a lot more I bet. It's a good perk anyway, but now, great.
Generally, NOLB only increases both BP and speed by a very paltry amount, making it a waste of a perk slot. I suppose that extra time will help now, so it might become useful. Before EGC changes, everyone recommended WGLF over it, as the BP gain was so much more and the unhook animations were like micro-seconds in speed faster.
I haven't done extensive games with them so this is just general consensus.
-
I'd love it if people could see I'm running Botany Knowledge (or whatever else) so my heals are faster than their Self Care. Which takes forever now, so you'd think people would prefer another healer every time, even at base.
-
We'll Make It is stellar. It gives them an icon when you unhook, so they know to wait or lead you someplace safe and let you heal.
