I'd opt in, SWF is not fun, we don't even know if we're up against it, that's not fair.
Survive With Friends isn't fair and that's why you'd Opt In to play against Survive With Friends? Have I misunderstood what OP is suggesting or are you just being contradictory
-
It's ridiculous that none of her add-ons really give any debuffs. The devs really missed a lot of opportunities with her.
-
No one's gonna opt in to it and it'll kill the player base. SWF really isn't that huge of an issue, not as much as people make it out to be. The problem lies in the skill cap between killers and survivors. Often times the group's you get bullying you in SWF could just as easily do it without verbal communication.
-
I usually give the devs the benefit of the doubt but Ghostface really makes me lose faith in them, which is really disappointing
-
Hangman's is hardly a counter argument because no one's gonna run it regardless. It's use is worthless unless survivors play a specific way.
-
It's lost, but considering that makes it 1v3 it's not exactly detrimental to Myers
-
I never mind most streamers (at least the bigger ones) but it's the viewers that get vicious. And frankly as a content creator, if your content is drawing in toxicity that's your responsibility to deal with it, yet none usually do.
-
Detective Pikachu last week, fantastic movie. I was worried itd be gen 1 pandering like so much of the franchise is but it really did a good job capturing the series as a whole.

"As it stands most killers would just use Nurse or Billy anyway"
Yes which is why they are limited to a selection of 3. And then why survivors are limited because 4 stack SWF >> Killer.
It's one thing when you have a fighting game where only maybe 7 characters are viable, or this one combo is the best, or this one weapon is the best. It's another thing when there would only be exactly one way to play the game in a tournament setting.
The difference is that DBD with no limits would have ZERO variety. You want enough variety in tournaments that it's good for spectators, but you don't want that variety to hurt the competitive nature of the game. Smash allows the stages that WORK. There was a time when people discussed the idea of FD only, and it fell out of favor because no one wants to play or watch games on only 1 map. That, and it was realized that some character match ups actually change dynamically when you allow stages with platforms.
All I'm trying to do is avoid the obvious outcome of what a no limits rule set would allow. Limits are necessary, if only to balance SWF against killer. Again none of you would disagree with that, so the fact you push for a no limits style tournament baffles me.
Limiting it to 3 random killers is an awful way to do it. Survivors don't even need SWF to outmatch most killers, and they also all play the same with only minor differences through perks. Killers play drastically different and if you're a Billy or Hag main but get let's say Spirit, Leatherface and Legion, you're already playing a losing game because your options are either weak or something you're unfamiliar with. And that's just one point that's already flawed.
-
Dude this might shock you but most tournaments for games have little variety because theres always that one combo that's better than the rest. That's just how it is. If you want players competing at their highest skill you don't restrict things in the way you're trying to. All you get then is players using the second best perks with little variety. As it stands most killers would just use Nurse or Billy anyway. A lot of your rules are restrictive, and you fail to realize DbD just doesn't work as a fully competitive game.
-
Depends on how the sleep function works. It seems easy to get out of and takes a while to get into, and half of his power is gonna rely wholly on the sleep function. The teleporting is limited and its gonna depend on how far the range is. If it's not very far then it's not gonna be a useful ability. I was also unclear on if trap pallets hurt you or just work like doctors illusions.
-
This is hilariously bad and a lot of your rules are arbitrary and unnecessary based on your personal opinions of what's OP and whats not. You were so confident in suggesting the Devs use these officially that I was expecting something at least remotely reasonable but clearly I expected too much.
-
The gap between killer and survivor has closed a lot in the last year but because the change was gradual, it's been hard to notice. While overall a good survivor is stronger than a good killer, because the skill gap was reduced, a lot of survivors who could get by before are now suddenly more challenged, while the absolute top tier survivors remain unaffected. The skill cap for being able to outplay good killers was raised so less people are being able to do it than before, but the tools are still there for the most skilled survivors and fully favors them.

OOPS I CONFUSED THIS AND ANOTHER THREAD
-
Ignore this I confused it for another thread
-
It's a bug and didn't make sense so it's good that it's patched out
-
@darktrix pretty sure that's the difference between a killer Leaving Game vs closing the application
-
Dude what does it matter? What negative impact on the game does being obsession have outside of perks? It makes literally 0 difference.

Hey, ever heard they gonna add more loop and pallet later?
That's gonna counter her vomit even more
Shorter loops with better mindgame potential. That's not a nerf or buff for her, just a lateral move
-
Plag is decent imo. Just takes skill and focus.

And again why you just don't take away the obsession mechanic from the survivor because do nothing and just give hint to the killer about those perks or give them o downside if the killer does not use any of they obsessions perk?
The obsession mechanic IS the hint to the killer. And several obsession perks work differently for survivors based on if they're the obsession or not. Like this really is not a big deal, you're just being nitpicky.

So Killer-sided of you.
Killers get perks like NoEd and BBQ which change a losing game to a win, and survivors have to absolutely modify their playstyle to play around these perks, and have no ways to counter it.
Yet for you just because a survivor has a one-use perk like DS it has to carry an extra penalty?
It's a good thing you're not in charge of DBD's balance.
This is a joke right? NOED and BBQ have several counters that don't require perks at all. BBQ doesn't even need altered playstyle. A lot of survivor perks have no counterplay at all besides just gritting your teeth and powering through it.
-
You could argue a similar thing for Leatherface though. They only got the rights for the name and mask, and they worked hard to keep it in character. Besides, wasn't half the schtick that Ghostface is whoever dons the mask?
-
For 3 people yeah, a map like that takes a long time to make and modify. That's not an unreasonable amount of time.
-
Did we watch the same livestream? I thought it was really good. We got a lot of sneak peeks at upcoming stuff, we got footage and lots of information and it just felt very fun and exciting. You're just grasping for reasons to complain. I swear some people here can never be pleased

Yea I wasnt sure if it was picking up a survivor or not. My friend tried to argue that it was only interruptions that activate that perk. I think this perk is actually good with pop goes the weasel on a Billy or nurse. Strong if you slug with those 2.
The terror radius one I don't remember if it's a cooldown or not but I didn't think it was. So with all 4 stacks you're down by 16m then add M&A and you only have an 8m terror radius killer?
I only think his fast action perk is useless. The other two will work really well on certain killers.
Terrie Radius perk is only in a chase and takes a lot more to get to work so I don't feel it's worth it beyond very gimmicky builds. I'm All Ears looks like the absolute worst perk I've seen to date though. Monstrous Shrine has more use.

Oh right, I forgot the terror radius was the obsession one. But even still it'll be a very situational perk in my opinion. Not to mention the 16 seconds their blocked will have time taken up by you hooking the survivor, I'm not sure why they didn't just do it for hooks instead so you could actually scout and walk to the gens being worked on, at least then it would work well with BBQ or PGTW. It's kind of mediocre in my opinion.
I mean it's still quite a solid perk if im being honest. Maybe not top tier but it's dangerous to make a top tier perk at this point.
-
@Bongbingbing said:
I can't see any use of his perks, to me they're all pretty bad.
Decrease terror radius in a chase, It'll just be the same terror radius as a tier two Micheal at most which isn't helpful in a chase. Decreased terror radius barely help while in chases, If it were the opposite and your terror radius were reduced outside of chases it'd be a good perk but it's not.
Aura of a fast vaulting survivor outside of terror radius. This seems so useless, You already know the location usually, the 6 second aura isn't exactly helpful when you have to then traverse the map which by the time you get there the aura is gone and your in the same spot as you were if you didn't even have the aura.
Hooking the obsession blocks all gens not being worked on, This is the only one i can see being useful in some gen stopping builds but even then I'd argue it isn't worth the perk slot.
IRT the third one, it's not hooking the obsession. It's picking up any downed survivor. Which gives it a lot better useage imo.
-
It's not hitboxes it's latency. It'll be worked out with dedicated servers. Calm yourself.
-
You're on PS4? Since when could you remap controls on console? I wasn't aware you could do that.
-
If I had to guess, I'd say the question was in the survey to gauge if there was an overwhelming opposition. I don't think there was though. Yeah a lot of people are whining about it on the forums but they're likely the loud minority. People are more vocal when they dislike an idea than when they like one.
Frankly I'm excited for the battle pass concept, and I'm excited to see where it goes. If you don't like it you're not forced to buy it and it won't change your gameplay at all.
-
Is it possibly a problem with the controllers connection to your PC?
-
It's especially likely your controller if you had it with both killer and survivor.
-
I know you said you have friends with that problem but if I'm being honest, I think it's a problem with your controller. I'd look into trying a different one cause I doubt it's a problem with the game.

Dude, m&a already exists /:
Decreased TR in chase will allow you to play like myers on t1
Having a 16 meter terror radius (potential a little less for a few killers) in a chase isn't that big of a benefit, especially considering the work you gotta put in to reach that point. If you gotta get 4 specific survivors hooked for a perk it better be strong, and reduced chase TR isn't.
-
It's hard for them to fix a bug if they can't recreate it in testing, and considering you're the only person I've seen have this issue, they likely can't recreate it.
-
Not often you get to watch the same game flop twice.
-
Wait, new deathgarden? Did they remake it?
-
Truly the most pressing matter the devs face right now.
-
I've heard people say it's more disorienting than without.

I'll do this if I'm the only one on the gen, but it doesn't make much sense to me when you have multiple people chain regressing the generator. Much easier for the others to tap.
Multiple people on a single gen is already slower than on seperate gens anyway

As much as i agree in despising those types of claudette's i still hate it when people do it regardless of the circumstances behind it
Listen, if I'm being chased down because Claud is waiting for me to die so she can go find the hatch, you bet your ass she's getting sandbagged.

@peanits that isn't true, due to ruin not only pausing the meter, but removing a fail skill checks worth of progress from it as well. Gen tapping takes a little longer then sitting there holding the mouse button, sure. But it's still much faster then plowing through the generator, unless you are hitting nothing but greats.
Powering through it also helps you improve on landing those greats though. Ruin trains smart survivors to be even better.
-
The only time I sandbag is when I lead the killer to someone who is only hiding the entire game. The curse of using Bond is KNOWING that one Claudette hasn't touched a gen all game.

Exactly this /\.... the game is still bare bones AF... theres nothing else to it aside for the 1 game mode and a store..... it needs new game modes in order to attract more people (needs more in general) ... the idea of being able to go into the fog with a friend sounds fun AF and would bring people to the game.....
The split queue times would still be too much. It'd likely drive people away too much. Dead by Daylight doesn't have the luxury of having that big a player base to split, especially since it's already split by virtue of being asymmetrical. Any new game modes would split the playerbase twice, not once.

When have I stated in my posts that I lost to the Myers like twice. I never said he is Op and I have been all over the bored in the rankings was rank 7, after reset now rank 10 working my way down. I Just specified why he didn't need a buff.
He does need a buff tho. He's on the upper portion of mid tier but still mid tier and can't compete with the likes of Billy, Nurse and Hag.
-
Doesn't he also only have like 5 seconds with no terror radius? I'm not fully familiar with his power but I remember hearing his stealth was worthless
-
Play a few games just driving around the map and don't bother with survivors to get the hang of steering.

I run Spine Chill, I know when to move when Myers is coming its mainly dealing with it after my teammates just let him feed the entire match
Then that's a problem with your team not the killer.
