Oh, the irony of people who play a game, saying that anime is a "hobby of weirdos." When plenty of people think the same about those who play games.

People with that mentality never grew out of being a middle/high schooler and needing everyone to love them so they try to act cool.

  • @Caiman said:

People are complaining about MFT? I haven't seen anything like that. If anything I think its Haste should be buffed to 4%.

Yeah because it is a direct counter to Kaneki and it's one of the few things survivors have where they don't need to change their playstyle and can do it well against him. Since a lot of people are playing Kaneki right now, they think it's a bigger issue than it is. It's fine how it is.

I think Horror media of all kinds should be welcome to DBD, I just love it's unique gameplay, and I wish they'd do more to nurture both sides having fun

I agree which is why I'm so confused that people think it doesn't belong because "it's an anime." I want them to tell us WHY that matters? It's a horror anime? I saw one person say because anime's can't have slashers, but like… says who?

  • As killer, he's one of the most fun killers they've introduced in my opinion. However, on the survivor side of things, he is definitely on the strong side and needs to be toned down a bit. The auto aim needs to be toned down a bit, so many hits that even as a killer I have to admit should not have hit at all, but the game allows it? Personally I don't know how much has to be fixed other than that because I feel like so many of his issues comes back to "it's way too easy to get that initial hit."

  • Why do people think that nerfing killers into the ground is a better alternative to balancing them. That's not exactly fun either. Also, Chucky never lost his ability to go under pallets, what are you on about.

BHVR should make this an optional setting so not all players are forced to listen to the new music. And yeah I know about the lobby changes for new DLCs. But I still just find it annoying now, I used to think it was fine because the music for the DLCs weren't that bad. But I absolutely despise the anime music, I think it ruins the whole DBD aesthetic completely.

Just lower the menu music down to 0 in settings if you don't want to listen to it that much. Also are you mad at it because you just don't like it or because it's anime?

  • Honestly, people would do this even if Ghoul wasn't in the game. Everyone always wants to ruin events and brings the strongest most over the top stuff into event queues. The only reason it feels different this time is because we got a really strong and fun killer less than a week prior to the event, so everyone is playing him, but in reality it's just going to be another sweat fest like every other event.

    Hi @ChurchofPig
stop using discord for proxy chat wasn't OP but fun idea that would be great, however 3rd party comms would prevent it.
I'm afraid HUD show more very little when compared to any SWF using 3rd party comms, BHVR has realised and given up on the idea trying to give as much information, like trying to ban it, you can't as you couldn't 100% detect it.
Devs could never say comms isn't cheating because that obviously wouldn't be the truth with the advantages over other players it gives, they have said it isn't bannable and can be used in DBD similar to reshade.

Focusing on the OP introducing communications in game isn't fun for me and other but unfortunately it is what is needed if BHVR were to be serious about balancing their game.

Ok let's break down your points

"stop using discord for proxy chat wasn't OP but fun idea that would be great, however 3rd party comms would prevent it." not gonna lie this part is so poorly written I don't have anything to say because I don't understand what you're trying to say.

"I'm afraid HUD show more very little when compared to any SWF using 3rd party comms, BHVR has realized and given up on the idea trying to give as much information, like trying to ban it, you can't as you couldn't 100% detect it." Again, most of this is poorly written and I don't any idea what you're talking about. The first part of this comment though, they've added plenty of info that helps people perform better in matches even without comms. BHVR didn't "give up" they did everything except straight up give permanent aura reading basically and maybe a couple meters showing how far along things are. Like you legit made this up to make SWF look stronger than it is.

"Devs could never say comms isn't cheating because that obviously wouldn't be the truth with the advantages over other players it gives, they have said it isn't bannable and can be used in DBD similar to reshade." You realize cheating is bannable right? So you just straight up admitted they said it isn't cheating. Cheating in games implies you're breaking the rules, if they say something is fine within the rules of the games so you can't be banned for it, it isn't cheating. You can't make up your own definition and role with it. Sure it gives an advantage over other players, so does bringing Brand New Parts, are Brand New Parts cheating? No because it's something you're allowed to use.

"Focusing on the OP introducing communications in game isn't fun for me and other but unfortunately it is what is needed if BHVR were to be serious about balancing their game." Not going to comment on the opinion part of this because your opinion is your opinion. However, every single online game that is competing with dbd that has brought in voice comms has died or is close to dying. Also, dbd is asymmetrical, you can't balance that, it's in the nature of the game.

Last thing to leave off on, if the developers didn't want you playing with people you know, they never would have added swf to begin with so stop this bs of trying to argue that somehow playing with people you know is cheating. Get over yourself and get better. That last bit might be harsh, but it's the honest truth. This is a losing battle. The devs have never tried to ban anyone for using the swf feature in the game and talking to people. You know why? Because it's part of the game.

  • So how are you going to stop people from using discord? How are you going to stop people from maybe meeting up in person with their laptops, steam decks, switches, whatever and playing that way? Also with the amount of information the HUD now shows survivors, with the exception of exact location of the killer, there's not really anything a bunch of solo queue people don't know that swf do. Also the devs have said multiple times over that using voice chats aren't cheating, so the whole "the definition of what they are doing in DBD" part holds zero weight and you're just throwing a word out there to make it seem worse than it is.

  • Hag, Cenobite, and Artist, simply put I never got used to their powers and there are killers I'm better at that can accomplish the same thing but easier for me and does it faster. I basically played them for their achievements and dropped them.

No child has ever survived in the Forest alone ever before for any real length of time. Even full grown adults die out in the Forest very often. No child would live out there especially in during a Russian winter. It’s literally impossible.

Trapper collapsed a mine on his workers very easy thing for any human who owns a mine to do. Nothing superhuman about that. Although I would say he’s superhuman now after being tortured by the entity with all the hooks and stuff. Nurse killed asylum patients which again is very easy for a normal human to do. Smother them in their sleep, inject them with drugs and so on.

Again superhuman feats from her at least proves she’s not human BEFORE the entity takes her. Killers can have black eyes for different reasons just because others have it doesn’t mean it can’t be evidence for her being one.

You really can’t rationally label her as a normal human. Not to mention she’s almost 8 feet tall and throws her 6-8lb hatchets at 115 mph.

I’ve been saying this for years and I haven’t seen many other people ever agree so I don’t think a bunch of people are making it up to make her more interesting. It’s not factual but there’s far more evidence putting towards it than away from it.

Lore from other killers have shown that the entity will intervene to get what it wants. Even if there are no real life examples, it still doesn't make her a Bodark when we can also just as easily say, "The entity probably intervened to get the version of Huntress it wanted." Don't forget, it also intervened when Artist was going to off herself with the crows. Crows aren't native to South America, but it makes more sense if the crows aren't real and were sent to Artist by the entity. I've come to learn that just because a character does some superhuman act in their lore doesn't mean they did it on their own and there might have been intervention by the entity to make sure it happened that way to get the best result when it was ready to claim whichever killer or survivor it was.

Edit: Just to show why just because soldiers called her a bodark may or may not mean something, if I see a bear on it's hindlegs not facing me and I don't realize it's just a bear and call it bigfoot, is it all of a sudden bigfoot? That's sort of the logic you're going with by saying just because they called her a bodark makes her a bodark.

  • No. I think it's interesting to have a killer that is a werewolf, but I don't think the power should surround the idea of "pretending to be another killer." There are only 2 ways that could go, extremely useless or way too confusing. Given the fact that the community already doesn't seem to know how half the killer roster works, I'm leaning towards in practice it being way too confusing to deal with. I can already see the reports flooding of people "hacking" when in reality they're just playing the killer. Also it would mean when you are facing the killer that is usually the one the werewolf is usually mimicking, people won't trust it making that killer likely stronger indirectly, assuming they know have the werewolf killer worked.

Edit: Also, can you point out where in her lore it points to her being a werewolf/bodark creature? I see that she's territorial and violent in her lore, but she also grew up in the middle of nowhere and her mom died when she was young so I don't entirely see where she comes off as a werewolf.

  • How often the dedicated servers are crashing is becoming concerning and I think it needs to become a priority to fix. All the health patches in the world aren't going to make the game better for anyone if they can't ever play it. I play almost every day some amount and I swear it's been crashing at least once a day which is concerning and I can already tell how the anniversary is going to go. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Chapter 20: Resident Evil patch and that mess.

  • This isn't even the worst I've seen weirdly, there was a day where idk what server the game was putting me on but it sure wasn't the NA West Coast one because my ping actually was over 1000 despite the fact that my internet was working smoothly and was perfectly fine in every other online game I played that day. This was during this iteration of Chaos Shuffle also

If a player hoarded BP to invest in a new character, then wouldn't that be more incentive for the player to buy said 'new characters' as they know they'll be able to just jump right in and play a leveled killer/survivor? I feel maybe BHVR hasn't thought of this, but who knows, maybe my line of thinking is just bonkers.

Very much probably the latter. lol

I think you're spot on, it also incentivizes people to continue playing prior to a new character releasing instead of saving up right after or before ptb and then just stopping until it hits live servers. I've noticed this trend of theirs where after a ptb they basically need to insert some type of event, whether it's a double ritual, bloodhunt, alt game mode, whatever until the next update and I bet this is due to a drop in players waiting for the new content but already having saved up the max they can without rift points. It wouldn't be as necessary, or at least would just be helpful to everyone else, if they just uncapped it or set the cap much higher so people can save up as much as they want for the new character. Some people that will just be between 3 and 4 million to get the perks to Tier 3 on released, but even so, that just means once they're there, the grind will return as normal which is what they want in the first place.

Edit: Right on queue, Chaos Shuffle and a Blood Hunt start the day a PTB ends. Shocker. I know these were planned looking at the roadmap, but I wasn't thinking about it when I responded with this lol

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

They said they will add a bulk BP spending button. I just hope it is as simple as it sounds. Has anyone been able to try it yet? I havent been able to get on the PTB yet :(

Once this feature drops then there really wouldn't be a reason to have a capped amount of bp.

We'd need more upvotes and traction on posts like this for the devs to budge, but here's to hoping someone in the right place sees it and brings it up to the devs. I would not be the first person to make a post like this, I probably won't be the last, this probably won't be the last time I personally make a post about this. It's something so many people want and for whatever reason, the devs want to stick to old reasoning that doesn't necessarily apply anymore and I think that's sad.

oof good luck! Ironically I did that challenge twice, once on switch when it first came out and then when I got a playstation and rebought the game (this was way before cross progression) and both times I got the 4 gen challenge against a Pig. First on Coldwind with some cracked out survivors who just bullied the Pig all game and left me for dead after I did all 5 generators and the second on MacMillan, nothing scarred me that match so besides the realm I don't remember it LMAO.

What's the other license that was lost besides Demo & Pinhead?

Attack on Titan which was cosmetics only, but still a license we had and lost.

  • Licenses are something where, the chance of them leaving is always a possibility, but not something we should expect to happen unless otherwise stated. It always sucks to lose a license and is the third time we have, although one of those has been returned at this point being Stranger Things.

Edit: There are very few licenses that I would call "safe" from being removed, Naughty Bear as another BHVR license, Bill since iirc Valve licenses like Bill's they're generally very chill about and your game basically just has to be on steam which dbd won't be removed from (could be wrong, but the point being, since the license is in the game for free it's probably never leaving), and Crypt TV (same reasoning as bill in the sense that, the licenses holders give you a way to get it for free so they're not really in it for the money and therefor don't really have a reason to pull it).

  • Answer: Yes, they don't change skins just because people don't like how they look unfortunately.

  • The weirdest part about it also is I know that emblems are being tracked in 2v8 just not counted because you can do emblem based challenges from the regular tome levels in 2v8. I've done it multiple times and it works. All they really need to do is turn it on. They just choose not to.

  • I get WHY they don't have the grades enabled in 2v8, but it still sucks because I almost exclusively want to play 2v8 and get nothing for my time in game. If emblems and ranks are really only supposed to be a reward system for playing the game, I don't see why we can't have them in 2v8, you don't even need to really balance them because who cares… bloodpoints are useless after a certain point of leveling a character anyways.

  • Personally, I don't think it's ever continuing. They keep saying there's "not room in the schedule" for Swamp, but then make room. Make it a priority for whatever major update you're planning on next, just finish it. They said it was going to take around a year maybe a little longer 4.5 years ago. It should be done no excuses, it's literally the final realm.

  • To me, although the brought up problems with Legion in 2v8 do exist, they are absolutely exaggerated on how bad and prominent they actually are and in the event they're not being exaggerated, then I'm guessing those not exaggerating probably also struggle against Legion in 1v4.

  • Cool, 1 less bot, when are they addressing the actual issues with 2v8 for survivor to make them want to play? That's not to say bots in 2v8 aren't problematic, but there were issues prior to them that the devs still aren't addressing.

  • Do you have any pictures or videos of it? I'm a 90% console player, Playstation and Switch, haven't had any problems with the dream world. What's wrong with it that others are experiencing?

  • @Deathstroke said:

Yeah but in 2vs8 you can escape much more than in 1vs4 but that does not seem to matter to swfs who probably rather play killer with their mate. 2vs8 improves killer experience tremendously for those with friend to play with or who have anxiety to play alone. But survivor experience is qutted in many ways. You can't take items to matches and many enjoy using flashligh. You only have small chance getting one from chest.

Many survivors want to interact with killer and that is more limited. Sabo saves aren't thing either. I think class which has dead hard ability would be good. Devs should definetely add classes with popular perks as abilities or make new ones more.

It is definitely true you can escape much more in 2v8, but survivors tend to care less about the end goal and more about the steps that bring you there. As a result, the devs have basically stripped survivors of everything but their main purpose and survivors have always had a problem with that. It's why everyone loves a good chase meta and not one focused around the actual objective of the game. I think more classes is definitely the step that is needed for the survivors role and I'm hoping by the 4th iteration of 2v8.

I hope we have that because more bots is clearly not the answer since they didn't even fix anything THIS iteration, they just annoy everyone. They fail at the survivor objective, take the herbs even when not needed, and for killers they're not mind gameable which most killers live for the chase aspect and getting to outplay survivors, which bots aren't ever outplayed, it's just run from pallet to pallet until they decide to go and hug the outer wall. That's a separate issue and I know a little off topic, but I think the blandness of the bots is also an issue surrounding why survivors don't want to play, they don't like the idea that is essentially guaranteed to have at least 1-2 bad teammates, before even looking at the humans in the lobby and how they act.

  • The big issue that the developers aren't seeing that I feel a lot of players are seeing is that, the reason queue times aren't going down is because they've made 0 changes for survivor gameplay between the iterations of the mode where killer gets changes every time. The 1 change they did make for survivor though, was immediately met with backlash on the forums and alright responses other places creating a net neutral. If they're really interested in making changes for the better of queue times, they need to stop focusing on it as a queue time issue and more as a survivor gameplay issue. Why would I queue up for 8 gen simulator and getting downed in 2 seconds from being double teamed when I can just run around as Legion stabby stabbing at the speed of light while my teammate gets hook after hook after hook? One sounds so much more fun and interactive than the other.

  • You make it sound like Legion and bots are the reason there's an inbalance as if every iteration of this mode hasn't had horribly unbalanced queues.

thankfully they've tested base kit Unbreakable in the past and have confirmed (to my knowledge), never going to happen again

  • Nah because you'd need to make new legacy for almost 80 characters at this point, I just don't think it's worth it at this point. The original legacy should stay exclusive because it's a relic or the original grind system, like how the legacy portraits are relics of the last grind system. It's different from just "earn reward in event in 2 seconds and it never comes back" into "oops it came back." There's actual blood, sweat, and tears that went into them.

This sucks though because like I personally said, I find original chapters to be better and I don't like that dbd needs the licenses in order to survive, but that's kind of the box they're put in because this type of game isn't easy to market, the never ending amount of iconic licenses help them out so much.

The biggest double standard in this game is that it's considered "sweaty" for killers to camp and tunnel, but it's not considered "sweaty" for survivors to use voice comms specifically for extra game advantages.

This is not a post about survivors. Oh trust I have a lot to say about survivors and their gameplay, but in this post we're talking about killers. Let's stick to the topic at hand.

  • It's crazy to look at this and with a serious expression on my face just go, "I've seen so much worse."

  • I'm convinced 90% of the people who use "Well I'm high mmr" to try and invalidate others probably aren't high mmr and just want a reason to put someone else down and make them seem small. Like no one cares. We're all getting into matches and we're all having our own experiences with the game. Everyone's opinions are valid because the devs need to take different mmr bracket experiences into account when making changes.

  • That's the neat part, they didn't. They should have.

I'd like to say because the new Ormond map didn't have them, then they won't come back but I doubt that map looking at it was ever planned to have them to begin with, so I'm not really sure if the newest map is an indicator or not on if they learned anything from the portals.

Numbers dont lie. 10 million player base in 2020 to 6 million for today. almost 50% and a lot of more incentives, licenced, game modes and still less number than years ago. This game is boring and sazonal now and devs dont care about.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MAN6O0SHSZI8/image.png

Numbers don't lie, but you're also using data from a year where there was legit nothing to do.
