Dunno how gore adds into being scary. You're basically invincible until you're not. There's no immediate danger of death even when impaled on a hook.
I gives the feeling of unease, IMO

I think the appearance is a little odd. I think it would be cooler as a mind flayer.
I had a lot of dilemma with the appearance. At first I wanted to go that route, with supernatural beings and all that, but the mind flayer is way too godlike and eldritch for what I was hoping for. So I decided that he was like a serial killer, who became a form of time traveller to punish anything that could disrupt the timeline. Who made him into a time traveller? IDK.

This is a lot more defined, nice job! I think its balanced way better and has a proper use. Literally my only problem is that I think Temporal Blackout is a little too powerful, like Pop but better. This is one of my favorite concepts.
Thanks!

@NuclearBurrito said:
Ok this iteration is missing some information.
In particular:
What is the magnitude of the slowdown/speedup?
How long does the power take to activate?
How fast does the Killer move while activating his power?
How exactly does temporal bow work? (charge time, velocity, range, special properties ect)
I'll put in the info later. gtg

@Inferno427 said:
I like the idea, I'm just not 100% sure about your implementation.
How big is the time slowdown? Pallet sized? Shack sized?
It seems pretty ridiculous that you can cut someone's speed in half if it's too big and the action speed penalties seem pointless if it's too small. I think removing the movement speed penalty and making the duration infinite, but only one can exist at a time would be better. Block off a particular generator.
What does turning it to night do?
20 seconds to turn it do day is a very short amount of time. Maybe 60s? Idk bloodlust increasing is also a very odd detail.
How long does time dash last? How do you deactivate it? Is there a cooldown or can you attack immediately like spirit?
Temporal blackout is useless. I don't see why you'd want to stop hooks being sabotaged immediately after a gen pop or why it has such weird duration amounts. 17 seconds is a very odd number. 10/10 perk, very realistic to actual bhvr perks.
Eye of the future is literally just 2 perks combined into one. Survivors will never flashlight you while you're in chase. They're wait for you to be stuck in an animation like with breaking a pallet, which stops bloodlust, or while picking someone up, which means you've downed them and don't have bloodlust. This is just mother's helpers all over again.
Timefall just seems like a weirder version of Franklin's. Do you mean that the item teleports next to the totem or that it teleports inside of the totem?
I reworked it almost completely. Try reading it again and tell me if u like it.
-
@SCP_FOR_DBD said:
I love the concept of a killer that manipulates time, but this is a little weird. I think it would be better if using stranded pendulum affected the whole map but didn't affect the survivors move speed, cause thats a little too much. How would Eye of Time work on indoor maps? And what does the night ability do? And Time Dash sounds like Spirit 2.0. As for perks, Temporal blackout sounds super situational, Hex: Timefall sounds like Franklins Demise but worse. Eye of The Future just seems weak. I still really like the idea though.
Thanks for giving me some constructive criticism. I'll soon edit it to make it more fair and balanced.

look, i can't go into the exact details, but there IS a difference between these things.
Also, are you suggesting that I don't have the right to DC if something isn't good for my well-being and should just 'man up' or something because 'it's what I signed up for' or some BS?
I never mentioned any of those bottom things. Of course u should leave if it is seriously bad for health. I'm just saying some horror games rely on that IRL fear to get u, and I personally like that.

no. because it's fiction. I should get scared and stressed in a different way, but I should NOT have the same reaction as if I am in a real life threatening situation.
neuroscience fact.
if a situation in a game triggers the same flight/fight response as a similar situation would irl, something is not alright.
There are plenty of horror games that rely on you feeling paranoid and stressed, as well as not safe in your own home. The Wattson-Scott Test is a prime example of this. You feel paranoid, and get IRL levels of stress and fear even though its just text. Its also one of my favourite horror games.

it would be purely cosmetic, though, wouldn't it?
@TWiXT : You can expect an onslaught of DCs if something like that would happen. I'll be honest: Pig is the one killer where I WILL dc or suicide on hook, as she causes an IRL stress response in me for some reason like no other killer does. which isn't a compliment.
It should be. DBD is, despite all else, a horror game. The stress you feel is part of that experience.

Ok... but still
It's only traps the fit her mechanics Other than the Angel trap (with I'm against BTW)
It would offer different interactions based on which trap she brings (and by that I mean that she'd only be bringing that one trap not 4 different ones... I know that is what happens in the movies but that wouldn't work in game)
The Angel Trap would not be inescapable. You would have to complete multiple skill checks and spam certain buttons in order to escape, and you can't rely on others to save you.
-
Perfect picture.
-
I don't know if it will make the game scarier. I think the only way to make the game scarier is to do what solo horror games do- plenty of gore(which, by the way, should be mode that can be turned on and off) more darkness, and maybe a move to first person view.
-
@SquirrelKnight said:
I dunno if the engine could handle it, also opposed skill checks are weird. That being said fk yeah thats kickbutt
Good point about the Engine, but what I mean by opposed skill checks is that the first one to suceed, or if the other fails it then the killer or survivor wins the skill check, and completes part of the kill.

I'm mean you never know. They said they wouldn't add a non-human killer, but the Demogorgan crawled his way through a portal into our hearts, anything is possible. Although, they do keep saying no more non-humans. Haha
Said the same with clown though didn't they? And perhaps Brightburn is trapped right in that middle area of child and non human. Hopefully.

Imagine a fake generator that spawns around the map, but when a survivor starts to work on it they suffer from multiple status effects. say:
15% of Razor Box: Hindered status effect.
25% of Razor Box: Mangled Status effect.
50%of Razor Box: Survivor becomes injured
75% of razor box: Broken Status effect
90% of razor box: Becomes Trapped and has to be saved or they bleed out and die.
100% of Razor box: Blows up a nail bomb, makes loud noise, dying state,etc

I think it's because pugs are known to tunnel camp and focus out good loopers as they can completely ruin her game plan
So because they're hard to counter and some pig mains re tunnelers, etc people don't like them?
-
@redsopine00 said:
Ooooooo how about a iridescent add-on where it's a angle trap but only another survivor can get you out of it if it's a normal trap you can escape but with the right add-on it plays into Amanda in the film of rigging her traps to be unwinnable
That would be interesting!

There's a lot of potential with pig which is why I'm hoping she gets a rework. Like you said, freddy has dream snares & pallets and his teleport is analogous to pig's crouch. She can easily have a substitute for her RBTs. Angel trap instead of a hook also sounds cool. I wish they look into it. It's a gold mine.
Yeah

@Jivetalkin13 said:
It's a nice thought, however I can think of one big reason why he would never be added to the game. He is a kid. In the development of the Stranger Things Chapter, the developers said they didn't want any of the characters that were children as survivors, because killing kids in the game would probably be a big no no. I imagine similar reasons might exist for not having a kid do the killing.
Yeah, That was my major issue when writing. But technically he's a alien, so maybe?
-
Chasing someone down a mine would be so cool and scary for the survivor!

Exactly! Yet I found a thread full of people screaming about Pigs confusing perks, broken crouch, annoying bear trap, etc.
-
Ok aside from the amazing image, I would actually love a borrowing killer. Would scare the ######### out of me.
-
If you didn't get this on pc, then you were incredibly lucky. From what I've seen and played its a common meta all the time. You don't see this level of tunnelling on PC? I don't know what to tell you. At this point I have to run useless perks and act like an idiot all game to not get laughed and screamed at in messages, ruining the game for me. Maybe that's why its happening. On console that might happen to them less.

Thats a little weird considering the animatronic everyone wants is springtrap, which is the guy who killed the children, not the children themselves. Even still the other animatronics aren't actually controlled by children, they're just trapped. I'm not sure where that person got that anyway.
You think those people really care about lore?
-
@SCP_FOR_DBD said:
This sounds like a slightly worse Iri head huntress with better shred and 120% move speed, I like the concept but this seems to strong. I'm also pretty sure the kids thing only applies to survivors, since they get butchered.
Maybe, but a guy told me on a FNAF concept that Fnaf doesn't work because souls of children.

Survivors may as well just suicide first hook because they wouldn’t stand a chance.
Loved the movie.

@Nicholas said:
He would be a very interesting killer. I really like the movie, too bad we're probably not going to get a sequel. I wonder though, who would the Survivor be?
I really don't know. A idea I though of would be the conspiracy theorist at the end credits or the sheriff, who got sent to the entity when he was obliterated by Brendan Bryers.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
His name isn’t Brightburn. That’s the name of the town.
Anyway, wouldn’t he be way too OP for the game
We have a literal satanic dream demon that even death was scared of. Also, I searched it up, he is nicknamed Brightburn by the press at the end of the movie. Otherwise it was going to be "False Hero" but I though Brightburn was better.

How can you play around freddy with snares? You can't, eventually he gets you. For pig you just need spine chill and all her stealth approach is worthless. Even more because her dash attack is useless against sprint burst. She needs a buff like Bubba and more ppl want to play her. Maybe, just you have to go to all 4 boxes to unhook the trap and not a random 25% chance. Then you could actually delay a survivor completely. But in the current state she is D-Tier, maybe clown without addons is worse.
You didn’t answer my question. How are the 2 similar.
