How is it his fault the wraith was camping first off second off his point was he s score compared to killers wich is not fair cause as I said killing is to easy
Because he said it was hard to get 10000 points as survivor generally, which it isn't, lol. Like, get good is correct.
Also if he's in high rank like he says the team will full well know how to deal with camping and one of them will more often than not have BT. So this dude is either terrible or the Wraith was a god. The former is more likely, especially since good killers don't camp till last gen and that only really happens in purple rank or with Bubbas.

Gotta love players who say "get good",,, like player skill has anything to do with a killer spawning right next to you and you run them for a bit get downed, hooked and camped...LOL. The games over now and you spent the majority of it on a hook just watching yourself die. This happens so damn frequently in games now it makes the game unfun to play. How bout this,,,dont camp and killers should just "get good" at stopping gen rushing??? If you are new to the game and this happens maybe half the time you play (which it does now because camping and tunneling is that prevalent) why would anyone want to keep playing???
Nah I say it because he said it's hard to get 10000 points as survivor generally which is BS
But fr if you can't last well in a chase who's fault is that? Because it isn't the killers

Kinda ironic that the mascot of this game is also the weakest killer
The amusing part of the irony has worn off for me now though, it's just stupid at this point

So a wraith started right next to ne off the start downed and hung me. He stood by me till someone pulled me off and killed me. "play" and "win" are different things.
I too can play wraith against tournament SWF and get expectedly destroyed, so what?
Yeah no Trapper or Wraith is gonna win against tournament SWF. Not my point, funnily enough...

Correct, in most games you see things other than the top tiers at the top level.
But not DBD. A big, existential problem to DBD's existence is top tier and viable are the same. In most games there is a gentle transition and the line between 'comp viable' and 'just mid tier but still if your great you are good.' DBD has a VERY sharp divide and its basically based entirely around killers that ignore every chase mechanic.
Ignore distance mechanics but not loops, like Blight or Huntress? Congrats, you get trashed at loops.
Ignore loops, but not distance mechanics like Clown or Trapper? Congrats, you get trashed cuz of W meta.
Most of the killers just literally do not have the tools to excel in this game no matter how good you are. You can push Trapper to their absolute limit and play them technically flawlessly but even middlingly optimized play beats that because their toolkit has what is called a 'Skill Ceiling:' the limit of what the option can accomplish due to lacking tools to go further. Trapper is very good at shutting down loops but takes so much time to set up and has no mobility options to handle people cheekily just tapping gens and running away, if your opponent does that and does it well they can't win. Not 'You aren't good enough to win, play around it.' There is no playing around, you auto win.
This is because, at its core, DBD is a very 'mathy' game. You can mindgame loops and shave a TON of time off chases, but at the end of the day its all about the time to catch up alongside animation durations vs the time to complete gens.
Like you can literally boil a DBD match to a math equation: C and R. Is R> C? Congrats, killer wins. Is R<C? Survivor wins. Sure, its more complicated than that, but that is the underlying concept of all interactions: Does this move my C down or the survivors R up for killers, and vice versa for survivors.
And right now? The killers outside of Spirit and Nurse just do not have the tools to make a dent in R, or affect C meaningfully. Some of these non-viable killers actually HURT their own stats on average, like Trapper.
So if your not playing at this 'raw numbers boring level' it seems silly, because everyone is viable at a dumb regional tournament after all, forget playing randos in matchmaking. But once you actually take the game seriously, like MMR would force you to do so, the game's just... transparently broken.
A killer will only be viable if they can meaningfully affect C and R in a way survivors can't just say 'no' too, and that is... spirit and nurse, basically. So get used to seeing those two all the time unless they buff other killers or, more ideally, dramatically alter how killer works on the base level so that the killer role as a whole has more control over that equation.
Yo you didn't have to write an essay, I know this.
I'm talking like top 30% of players say. Every killer can be viable if they are played very well (I'm not talking flawlessly). Of course some killers aren't as strong as others so they will become unviable sooner as you make the percentage smaller (top 25%, top 20%, etc.). Of course some killers will always be more viable than others but every killer is viable to a high extent
-

Your using playing killers at rank 1 and playing killers against "good" survivors as synonymous when they're not.
Players are not playing Wraith and Trapper against "good" survivors.
Players are playing Wraith and Trapper at rank 1.
Referencing people playing Wraith and Trapper and doing well against average (aka bad) survivors is irrelevant. Wraith and Trapper will be losing against good survivors.
No I'm using playing against good survivors. Instead of assuming I'm mistaken read the words for what they are.

What do you mean higher level? Because rank 1 goes from potatoes to tourneys. Top 1% you already admitted they couldnt.
Yeah I'm talking like top 30% of players. It gets to a point obviously. Like Trapper is gonna bow out before Bubba in terms of not being viable at a higher level but against good (not god tier, just good to pretty good) players, all killers are viable.
-

Actually survivor and killer both rank 1 5k hours and have played at pretty high for a while now. The videos just help because i don't feel like writing a paragraph to explain how survivors if the mmr becomes a real thing will literally at the top 1% only face spirit and nurse. This game needs a major rebalance if they wanna enable mmr or itll become stale real quick.
Yes the game needs balancing but that doesn't mean weaker killers can't operate at a higher level!
-
@supersonic853 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2034989#Comment_2034989
...they cant...not at the top 1% dowsey used twins and got destroyed.
and any killer from the top 1% can tell you that only nurse and spirit are good against the top swf. Stop with your survivor bias and actually realize the problem with this game. If you need more proof watch the tourneys where any killer but nurse and spirit lose immediately.
Survivor bias? Idk who you are but I almost exclusively play killer. Yeah not the top 1% sure but how many people are the top 1%? Oh yeah only the top 1%
Stop acting like your smart cuz you watched a couple videos

*This comment isn’t about the fun factor of stridor spirit*
What should killers do? Play unviable killers and get dumpstered? This is the culmination of years of balancing the game around players that aren’t good. When the game goes to a state where good players go against good players (MMR), that balance rears its ugly head and people play with what works.
Hopefully the devs will start using stats off of good matchmaking to make their decisions, stats are pointless when there is no real win condition and matchmaking is a complete disaster.
If people can play killers like Wraith and Trapper at top level no one has an excuse

I actually had a cool idea for a zoning killers
A marine killer in one of the old scuba suits with the cool helmet and the anchor weapon and stuff
His power would basically be the ultimate zoning tool.
He is able to create areas of 'swampy' (if you must, like polluted shallows) land that affect survivors. This basekit could maybe slow them a bit or something I'm not sure and additional affects or different ones could be done with addons
This would operate in a similar way to PH's trails in that he needs to travel the path that he sets it up on, but it seeps out, additionally if the trails are joined and the middle area isn't too big it will all become zoned area. Whilst he is holding this he would have a power gauge that would go down for each bit of trail out (and recycle once it ran out) Forcing the killer to either zone and keep a three gen or use it for offensive potential and getting major shut down at loops.
To stop him from an aoe trapper I thought giving him a chase power where a survivor being affected by the swamp area (possibly the affect could be called submerged or something) the killers receives a small buff. The waters call to him and increase his movement speed for a token (at 1% per token) for every 20 seconds a survivor is in your terror radius affected by the submerged affect. This is cancelled when all survivors are no longer affected by the submerged status affect. It could also do something different but it gives him a sort of basekit bloodlust that will help him chase.

1) Wraith - The only one for me <3
2) Plag - BLERHSHSHHSHSHSHAJAKSGSHGGGGHGH
3) Trapper - me and Evan have a complicated relationship. I had a month period where I didn't put him down then I found Wraith. I hadn't touched him for a while until about a week ago, getting back into it and I remember why I loved him so much!!

The basics of survivor are easy. Learning how to loop efficiently, be efficient with pallets and be able to read and counter mind games take time and practice for any player coming into the game.
Unless you're in a 3-4 stack SWF obviously, then all these things become less important so long as you split up on gens you can be bad at them all and still have a good chance of surviving.
Legit only took me about 300 hours to get this down (sounds like a lot but that took me all of a month) in the grand scheme of things ain't much.
-
If you took a 2 month break then you're getting bad survivors, theres no two ways
-
Well then my Wraith is clearly god tier...
Sweat the game out, just a little bit

I was mainly talking about killer in my response.
However survivor does still have a decent learning curve to though to be fair. After all there wouldn't be nearly as many potatoes out there if there wasn't. You still need to learn about mind games and how to run different tiles and what works against which killers.
I didn't find survivor difficult to learn at all I'll never understand how some people have difficulty with it
-
Are you sure you got the double pip? I got a merciless without a double and the double pip is what procs the achievement
-
@Kirkylad said:
Dbd has a very steep learning curve. Once you get the hang of how to run certain tiles, mind games, breaking chases and predicting survivors you will soon be on your way to doing well and ranking up.
Then you get to higher ranks and the true gamers come out but again practice, practice, practice and you'll get there man and soon you'll be competition for even them.
*Dbd for killer, has a very steep learning curve
-
Not to be that guy but get good
No one is forcing you to play spirit, you're just out of your league, quite simply
-
It was a bit shaky when it first came out but it's getting a bit better as I've been playing through today as well!!

Bhvr should just create some survivor bot that play with no perk and dont do gens for the killer mains on this forums.
That's the only way.
It's not every killer that wants an easy match, just the bad ones

Make sure they die before they get to the right amount of gens. I'll put on a sweatier build.
Devour, Undying, BBQ, then either Franklin's or MYC for the ez hook trades.
Double Windstorm
Then I play the match like normal

4 stacks needed with the above buff I think would be suitable

Why do survivors move when you find them. ######### rude they should stand still

IMO most of this community is more toxic than swallowing a gram of fine uranium powder. Everyone is sweating balls when the rank is meaningless, and it's so god damn pointless to go up to rank 1 for just more toxicity and playing for dailies against a pink mori basement camping myers with insidious and a 99-d t3. And to be honest these perks not just define meta but the killers that can actually win in the meta (generic not player-to-player). I mean ranks are so restrictive in killers so you have to throw out the killers you are not 100% efficient with in red ranks.
I mean cool but that's not what I was saying.
Someone running only premonition can be toxic. Some people just enjoy different perks. Get over it my dude, let people play how they want
-
Well rank isnt included for matching rn
-
I mean I usually get 3ks with hatch and I'm getting some of the worst survivors I've ever seen (as Wraith, my main killer). Honestly the survivors I got playing Trapper and Hag were more sportsman like and just overall more skilled than what I was getting as Wraith.
so I don't think its kill based
-
I'd say hope to meet you in the fog as Wraith but for some reason even the 2000+ hour players I'm getting are trash so if you're good maybe not.
-smh rank 1 mutter mutter MMR bad survivors mutter-
