  • I kind of wish there was chat on console, so I could have banter with chainsaw only Billy players after the match. But I keep my voice chat on console to friends only. I'd probably end up doing the same with the end game chat lmao

  • But Killers are already causing issues with the matchmaking by leaving when they see a a high prestige player or a flashlight. This would just make it worse.

  • It looks like you either play with extreme dexterity, swapping between pods and teleporting, or you play like Hag and camp gens and hooks. I don't think either are super appealing to most players.

  • No. I feel like I have options against the head traps. It slows me down, but I can still make decisions as to how I utilise my time. On the other hand, Cenobite feels like old Eruption going off for several minutes. Plus I can handle the head traps solo without needing to coordinate with anyone. Which is great as I play solo queue exclusively.

  • Yeah, chain hunt is ridiculously oppressive. I don't really like that a passive mechanic does so much of the work for him. It basically renders everyone useless for such a long time. Pair that with add ons that make it harder to find the box and faster start up on chain hunt, and you have a miserable match before even one gen is done.

  • They could reduce the cooldown and reduce her movement speed to balance it out. That would make her power available more often whilst not buffing her overall.

  • Do you remember the time when the kill switch got kill switched?

    Pepperidge Farm remembers.

    Is MFT bugged?

It's currently causing meltdowns, and that's not listed on the perk description, so... yes?

  • M1 killers can do more than walk to catch people. Myers utilises stealth and exposure, Trapper traps things, Nightmare looks sad and helpless so you feel bad for him and throw him a free kill or two. They may not be the strongest at high MMR, but describing their chase potential as simply "walking", isn't accurate.

  • Maybe.

The Xenomorph looks great. The Ellen Ripley cosplayer however...

  • Sometimes I think players will see tier lists that are created by the best players, and assume that means there's no point in playing certain characters at all. Even though at most levels of play, any character can do well. You could have 100 great characters, but if they are not top 10 they are considered unplayable garbage. It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

what update/multiple updates/year/chapter did things start going downhill and led to where we are today? What was the straw that broke the camels clavicle?

For me, the straw that broke the camel's hoof was probably the gen kick meta. It feels like things went down hill from there.

They removed hook grabs what somewhat nerfed facecamping for a good amount of killers.

I'm so glad this cheesy garbage is no longer in the game.

Let's keep the discussion civil and constructive, thank you.

Has BHVR made any comments other than, a rework is coming at some point in the future? It would be great to know if there is some temporary fix on the way, that will limit her ability to do what the OP is complaining about. Especially as it's extremely easy, and therefore appealing to trolls.

More specifically the absurd amount of them on each map?

here’s some recent footage from myself.

    https://youtu.be/KjmKTxAHJOQ

I wasn’t playing terribly, there’s just only so much you can do when survivors have safe pallet next to safe pallet, next to Jungle gym, next to Shack.

It’d be one thing if maps had 10-12 pallets or so. As killer you’re still kicking pallets but at least there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. And for survivors, it’d force them play smarter and really think and prioritize when and where they wanna drop a pallet.

A competent survivor can run a killer around a decent pallet/loop for god knows how long before he either gives up and break chase, or gives up and eats the stun. Only a handful of killer truly have options for pallets but I ask; “why do I need to stop playing a character I actually like and resonate with just to win?”

forget perk and killer reworks, just go through the maps and legitimately shave down the number of excess and unnecessary pallet placements. This would be a legitimately good fix for BOTH sides. More killers playing and playing killers other then 5 meta and survivors get forced to loop better and more efficiently.

Yes. There's a **** pallet on RPD that I hate. It's useless. Please get rid of it.

I see tunnelling in my survivor games 1 in every 10-12 games, and majority of those games are a survivor loss. Most of the killers I face seem to have no issue winning without tunnelling.

I tried playing some survivor matches tonight and it has sucked. Almost every killer is hard tunneling and hook camping at 5 gens. It's almost shocking how consistent it is.

    -

BHVR needs to fix the tunneling problem. This game will never be healthy as long as one player can unilaterally make the match miserable for everyone involved. I don't want a win, I just want a match where I'm not desperately trying to keep some poor player alive because the killer is in a bad mood and wants to harass the weakest link out of the game before any gens have been completed.

I try to empathise with killer mains, but I don't understand this. I genuinely can't think of any multiplayer game where I've prioritised winning over having fun. Some players are only happy when they win, I can't help those people. But I can make a conscious effort to not target the weakest and most vulnerable players, who are already having a bad time. Killer players are aware of how miserable it is for a survivor to be targetted and pushed out of the game before they've barely gotten to play, but they do it anyway.

I have a genuine question: Is winning that important? If a game forced me to play in an unsociable manner I'd just play something else.

  • It's absolutely awful. It's loud and it's so bright. They could make the effect a bit more subtle and you'd still know you're in it's radius.

  • Don't forget we only just left the gen kick meta. It's going to be a while before the psychological damage from that era fades. Most survivors are still wired to prioritize the destruction of the 3 gen over other things.

  • It's kind of a boring perk. Maybe they could rework it into something more spicy.

  • How many times can a person make the same arguments without getting bored? You guys are just gonna regurgitate the same opinions you've already voiced in God knows how many identical threads. I swear all these threads are being made by children. Only someone who has no experience with the real world could think this is worth obsessing over 24/7.

Eddie (ginger furball) is heavily bonded, so he's basically a dog.

  • I'm like 90% survivor and only 10% killer. I really enjoy cooperative gameplay. So playing survivor is really appealing to me. Solo queue is rough, but when the cooperation actually works, it feels amazing.

When I play killer it's either Nurse or Ghost Face. I have a history of playing characters with teleports and I love banshee screams (Sindel is my favourite MK character). So Nurse was a no brainer. With Ghost Face I just want to scare people and meme about.

  • Mental health is important, but that doesn't mean every venue and scenario is appropriate to discuss it. A far as there being no logical reason for not allowing these sorts of posts on the forum, I think there is some logic to it. This forum barely holds itself together as is, let alone if BHVR opened up the forums to subjects like politics or mental health. Subjects about depression can very quickly escalate, especially when you get advice from random people on the internet.

These kinds of topics require extremely strong moderation by people who are trained to look out for warning signs and safeguarding issues. Sometimes people will come to a stream I moderate and start dropping very distressing information related to past trauma and depression. I have to stop them as I have to safeguard the players in the stream. The internet is anonymous, so I have to assume there are probably some children in the audience. Children don't have the faculties yet to process that kind of information in a healthy manner, so they need to be shielded from the worst of it. I don't have the qualifications or experience necessary to help someone in that scenario. So the best I can do is direct them to a source of help, and remove the posts that might be harmful to others. It's not a perfect system, but it's the best I can, with the tools available to me.

Whilst I'm sure it didn't feel good to have your thread closed, I think they only did it to maintain the health of the forum. Hopefully you were able to make use of the information they linked for you. I don't have the knowledge to advise you. I just hope if you have/suspect you are suffering with a major depressive disorder, you are spending time with an appropriate clinician who can help identify the causes (environmental/biological) and give you the tools necessary to navigate and manage it.

Removing the boon sound would make it straight up unfindable on certain maps. Looking at you, Swamp.

They could remove the swamp via a patch. There are options available.

  • How about making it not show that you have downed someone until 20 seconds after they have been hooked (with a maximum time you can take to hook them), whilst extending the hook timer by 20 seconds also?

That could be pretty fun for playing stealth. Useless againt SWF on Discord, but it would be great for the majority of matches.

  • Now that CoH is nerfed, they really could increase the range on the boons to make them more useful. Shadow Step could finally be useful. I'd be down for Shattered Hope becoming basekit, but I'd remove the boon sound so it's harder to find and destroy.

Yeah reward the player for getting hit. Makes perfect sense.

Killer should get a haste effect everytime they whiff. That sound fair too!

It's not real. Who cares? lmao

  • No computer game should consistently make someone this angry. There's a lot of things to be this angry about, but computer games isn't one of them. Use all this energy for something that actually matters.

  • It is weird you can DC during the loading screen and not get punished for it. But a Claudette yeeted out one time during the loading screen and saved me from a match against Hag. So I am undecided.

  • Yeah. Four DC's should just end the match in the killer's favour. No clue why BHVR thinks anyone wants to play against bots. I don't even like having them on my team.

I get the hope thing, but why do you mention resilience? I use resilience and it doesn't make me run faster. I'm curious as to how it relates to MFT?

It's a meta perk. So it goes on the fire too.

But I that's how horror movies work. DbD is intended to play out like a horror movie

Most horror films have one survivor called the final girl. It's a trope.

It sounds like Fortnite is more of a horror experience than DBD is.

  • A lot of it comes down to RNG. If you spawn near a TV and she doesn't teleport to it when it starts up, you can get a tape. You can either keep it for protection or use that tape to deactivate TV's near hooked survivors or gens. If you don't get a tape at that time, the match can go down hill very fast. Once the teleport spam starts you can find yourself getting condemned very fast. You try and find a TV but due to bad luck, the ones you find have been deactivated. You die shortly there after.

Survivor is easy though. If you run Sole Survivor in your build you will escape the majority of the time even when your terrible solo q teams bite it. Because you can open the gates so fast the killer can't stop you.

Windows of Opportunity allows you to run safely very easily and if you know how to loop at all the killer will l leave you or he will throw the match by over commiting to you.

Between Windows and Sole Survivor I lose maybe 1 out of ever 5 games.

Then you have 2 flex slots. For MFT for chases, or Clairvoyance to find hatch. You can also use any of the busted endurance perks for extra health states if you aren't good enough to loop right

I don't consider escaping whilst everyone else died, as success. Plus, to escape like that consistently I would have to let everyone die and not take any pressure for them. Unless we get those gens done and at least one person gets out the gate, the match is a failure.

  • Was there a large movement to nerf Lightborn? I only saw one thread so I didn't bother thinking about it much.

  • @Mr_K said:

Killer could be down right impossible and survivors will say it's easy.

I've genuinely lost track of how many threads I've seen that include something along the lines of "playing survivor is ez mode", or "playing survivor is braindead". It's just salty whinging. It's not even worth taking the time to think about.

  • Windows is a good perk, but it's not problematic. There's no reason to nerf it other than because it's popular.

  • There's already a few hundred of these threads. As soon as the anger dies down from one you guys just create another and start over again.

It's like you want to just mald constantly.

  • @Lemonwolf said:

Please hear me out on this. I know most or all of you might read the title and think "NO" at once.

As a killer main DBD can be pretty frustrating and disheartening. Massive disrespect and insults are part of the experience when you are a killer main in DBD. Either during the match or afterward in chat.

We all have these matches where it is 100% clear that victory is not an option, not even close. You get these people who have a second objective, to make the Killer's game experience as miserable as possible. Some even admit to that in chat. So you are chasing these wonderful people, they drop a pallet, and they start t-bagging so fast that their legs seems to move at the speed of light. During the chase, you hear them using their flesh, sorry flashlight going "click, click". They turn around aiming at the floor, click click. Another dropped pallet t-bags with light speed.

And during that you hear the gens go pling, pling. It does not matter if you change target or not. It is clear you can not win, and you are nothing but a plaything, a curiosity for the 4 other people in the match. These quaint people do not leave the match when the gates are open. They wait and wait until you force them out, so they can again show their disrespect with plenty of light speed t-bags. I am not new to the game and have plenty of experience, so please don't even think about replying with "git gud".

This is not happening all the time of course but often enough to be annoying, disheartening, and it feels like playing a Bully Simulator.

So my suggestion would be to add a "concede" option for the killer that would end the match at once as a draw. If these things are happening to you as a killer you can not really fight back, you can either stand in a corner in protest doing nothing or you have to endure the bullying.

This suggested option would be a way out of this misery and would perhaps discourage toxic swf groups from being....well, toxic.

What's with all the self-pitying killer threads? As though survivors don't get BM from killers. It's just part of the experience when you play this game. What happens when you outplay a killer by dodging their powers for 2-3 gens? You get BM on the hook till you die. It's just how the playerbase is. Killers are neither the primary victims of disrespect nor are they immune to it.

Why not just offer a suggestion to improve the game without writing pararaphs about how mean and nasty survivor players are?

  • You miss 100% of the snoots you don't try and boop 👉️👃🐷

  • For survivors, Kindred. It's an easy choice.

    For Killer, Spirit Fury.

  • The game needs systems to stop tunneling. That's the only way it will stop. Something like making it so killers can't rehook a survivor back to back until they have hooked everyone else once, or whatever system would be needed. But that would require a complete rework so it couldn't be exploited by survivors, so it won't happen anytime soon.

The game should have been built in such a way that targetting one player and eliminating them from the game early on wasn't an option. DBD is a party game, it's not meant to be sweaty. There should be things in place to ensure that everyone gets a decent opportunity to play the game. That obviously didn't occur due to how the game came into existence.

If I were going to put a band aid fix on tunneling, I'd give all survivors DS as basekit. Make it deactivate after everyone has been hooked once or make it deactivate for individual survivors once it had been used once, it would also deactivate after 2 or 3 gens have been completed. I'd remove collision on survivors who use DS so they couldn't body block, whilst also making the auras of unhooked survivors intermittently visible to the killer so the survivors can't hide and stall out the game.

I noticed lately these survivors want every mobile killer nerfed. blight, wraith, wesker etc. can it be because they don't get free game with mft?)

I bet you go to every social occasion, and without being prompted start complaining about MFT. The OP is just talking about a killer they don't like and you just couldn't help but start going on about MFT lmao

  • I feel like this is just another thread to complain about MFT. Blight is the vehicle and MFT is the destination.

  • How long will it take to nerf the Nurse until she's useless? It's been 7 years and she's still the best lmao

  • Is MFT a fun perk? It's good but I wouldn't really describe it as fun. It's no blast mine or pebble.

  • I've found solo queue much better since I started running Deva Vu. Being able to break the 3 gen early makes the end game much more managable. By itself, 6% isn't much, but I do get a nice warm feeling from seeing the golden bar of progress. 100% better than the gen kicking meta. Matches lasting on average 20+ minutes sucked.
