Technically two things, but here's what I want:
If you can loop well, take aggro.
If you can't loop well, DO GENS.
-
I see they nerfed tombstone Myers, about time!
-
It doesn't. And I'm not just being salty or negative here. It objectively fails at every single category it should address. It doesn't put inexperienced people against other inexperienced players and it doesn't put experienced players against other experienced players. Killers that can demolish comp teams even with tournament rules regularly get survivors that don't even have a 100 hours in the game and don't even know how to properly loop tiles let alone counter every killer.
-
The SBMM is and has always been, complete garbage.
-
The people that reverse engineer, pocket sniff and all that stuff have confirmed that the system is working as the devs have described it. The system is just bad. Really, really bad.
-
Oh, but it is!
The real problem is that the current matchmaking system is so ridiculously bad at giving us "balanced" matches that subjectively, it feels all over the place. You can 4k 10 games in a row sweating your balls off and then get a complete breeze where you 12 hook the entire team at five gens remaining with no DCing or giving up on hook. Unless BHVR changes how your SBMM is calculated, and they won't, your trials will never make sense.
-
It never was. The devs got tired of people complaining about it, so they did what they always do. Promised to fix it and then ignore it altogether.
-
Absolutely! Given BHVR's track record, there's absolutely no way they won't implement some horrible system that fails to do its job on a fundamental level and instead makes everyone miserable.
-
MMR doesn't exists. The faster people just accept it, the better.
-
I'm pretty sure they lowered the soft cap to 1700 so that the super god tier Blights and Nurses can smurf even less skilled players.
-
The activation zone for that interaction is insanely tiny, unless you get it pixel perfect right you just won't get the prompt. I wish they fixed it along with Trapper trap placements.
-
At least you can do it on the Game legitimately, No Mither on the other hand? Just pray you get a Killer main who actually possess empathy.
-
The same place where the Skill based MM is. In our imagination.
-
No, but I had six Nurses, would love to swap with you!
-
I've been Gold rank 3 for 2 weeks now, I just stopped caring. The devs don't balance the game or the matchmaking, it's just not worth the hassle when every other game is a cracked Nurse/Blight that makes at least one person give up immediately.
-
It's easier for BHVR to pretend that this system is working, as opposed to admitting that the matchmaking has become significantly worse than back with the emblem system. And with a slowly decreasing playerbase, they are going to keep on expanding the range of the matchmaking leading to even more and more unbalanced games. SWF it up or leave it at this point.
-
Pinhead. I'd reckon he would have a lot of fun with Oni.
-
Play super chill and spread out hooks and chases so that they get plenty of bloodpoints and maybe even a safety pip. Last person gets the hatch.
2 people DC: likely farm or if I don't have a DC penalty myself just DC and move on.
3 people DC: last person gets the hatch.
Of course if they all run up to me pointing at hooks I'll end the match as quickly as possible.

Don’t just submit for the matches you don’t like, guys. Also submit for the ones you enjoyed. It’ll give them a better understanding of what we deem as fair.
I submitted seven consecutive survivor games. 6 of them I didn't even get 10k bloodpoints and I had one measly fun match in there. They can fix their game any time they want.
-
Both the day before yesterday and yesterday, I had my video card driver crash while playing DBD. It has happened before, but like two times since I started playing in 2021 January, never so frequently. Could still be a coincidence, but thought I'd mention it just in case.
-
That "Did it made you want to play another match?" question is really going to mislead the people analyzing the data. I personally like to end my gaming session on a high note, so if I escape as a survivor or 4k as a killer, I actually stop playing and as such I said no after the most fun games which will leave them scratching their heads.
-
Big love and infinite positivity to everyone out there!
-
Yeah, it's really irritating to fall short on pipping up simply because I played my games in the "wrong" order so to speak.
-
Bubba is actually fun to have a chase with unlike Nurse or Blight, so send them all my way! We can have some quality time in the basement <3
-
The only winning move is not to play.
-
It's very typical BHVR...well, behavior. Instead of realizing that there are two major things wrong with the game* they are grasping at straws, trying to find ways to give us enough bloodpoints so that even the worst 4slug at 5 gen matches are considered a "good result".
*1) The balance of this game is utterly laughable garbage
2) SBMM isn't working as intended. AT ALL.
-
There is absolutely no way the BHVR developers of all people would put so much thought and effort into any sort of project, let alone the horrendous SBMM. There are quite a few interesting streaks, but if you did 100 games without perks and addons and then 100 with, I think you'd get more mixed results.
-
The algorithm is literally written backwards so that high ranking killers get absolute babies and medicore or bad killers get the greatest loopers out there. This results in the greatly coveted ~50% escape rate, while making the matches complete #########. I don't know how this translates to hockey, but I guess pretty good job so far?
-
I also wouldn't mind more dailies. Or a rework system where you constantly have something active to gain more BP.
-
Yes, SBMM is complete garbage that literally feeds good killers bad survivors and bad killers good survivors so that you have a roughly 50% chance to escape every game. Very good job BHVR, how did you guys graduate high school is beyond me.
-
I've eaten like 2 DSs in the last 30 days. I wouldn't even mind if they buffed it to activate both times you are unhooked. If the Killer wants to tunnel you, he can just put up with it in exchange for the tremendous pressure an early kill can accomplish. Nurse and Blights don't really care about it all that much anyway.
-
If they banned people who play sub-optimally, we wouldn't even have a playerbase. Obviously, try not to throw so hard you ######### up 3 other people's fun, but you shouldn't be flat out worried.
-
"If we reverted back to the old system, we would have baby survivors against 10k Nurse mains!"
"Well, it can't be helped that the SBMM wants fast matches so it puts baby survivors against 10k Nurse mains"
Is consistency so much to ask?
The system is a big pile of ######### feeding baby survivors to experienced killers and vice versa, just watch any competent Killer or Survivor player and you'll see that 9 out of 10 matches they could win with barely even trying. SBMM is great in principle but the actual system is literally worthless garbage.
-
I'm going to use whatever the new meta is. I don't see BHVR balancing the game properly, so Nurses and Blights are probably going to 4k in 2 minutes now as opposed to 3.
-
Nurse, Blight, Pinhead.
-
Unless I need the forth kill or the person was a huge #########, I usually do actually. But if you clickity-click and T-bag, don't expect anything nice in return.
-
I don't. If you can't 3k 9 out of 10 games, you need to learn how to play. With SBMM feeding sub 100 hour babies to 8k+ hour nurses, there's no real excuse to losing most of the time.
-
I really wish one of the big content creators did a breakdown of which gens not to touch until last on each map. I've been in that same situation so many times, handing the killer what is essentially a free victory.
-
It has been for quite a while, although I personally only get DDoS-ed once or twice a month nowadays.
-
I guess we will never know why people want to win when playing games. It's a mystery honestly!
-
I can definitely see specific situations that would occur less frequently with a better method of SoloQ communication, but I have to say that as long as SBMM remains nothing but a mechanism that feeds poor loopers to top tier killers, it's going to remain a nigh unplayable mess.
-
Good thing there are so many Legion players right now I guess. Will try to give hatch, already at Iri 1 so I don't need to 4k anymore.
-
The single most important thing that you have to understand is that those kind of nurses already have all the bloodpoints in the world that they would ever need. It's not about getting BP, it's about denying BP. A significant portion of the killer playerbase is compromised of flat out sociopaths that are one horrible day away from making headlines. They don't tunnel, 4 men slug for bleedout at 5 gens or facecamp because they want to win desperately for the only validation they'll ever get in their life in a videogame, but because they want other people to be more miserable than they are. Once you realize this, a lot of killer behavior makes sense.
And when people constantly go up against the strongest possible killer, with the strongest possible addons with the strongers possible perks, it's really not that super surprising that survivors have to somehow even the playing field. Doesn't excuse the BMing of course, but most survivors are manchildren so what can you expect.
-
An even more miserable SoloQ experience? No thanks.
-
My Trapper match got to the last gen popping but my Devour Hope came in clutch and I could mori everyone with my lategame build. No DCs.
Very sweaty Huntress match, 3k with one gen left, no DCs.
End game super fast Legion build (BFF, PWYF, NOED) 2k, no DCs.
Bubba game: 4k, when I downed three survivors in quick succession two gave up on the hook.
Not a huge sample size, but it was just as much of a sweatfeast as usual without easy wins, except for that last one, but they sent me to Haddonfield, so I don't feel bad for them.
-
If I knew whether a given lobby had SWFs or not, I would dodge 100% of the time and I don't even mind going up against them that horribly, especially once I'm Iri rank 1 and depipping is no longer an issue. It's just a very easy way to make the game more fun, so I would always use it and I suspect the overwhelming majority of killers would as well, leading to insane que times for SWFs.
Buff SoloQ, rebalance maps and killers. That's the only way. And of course make an actual skill based MMR so that we can know what's OP and what isn't.
-
I only use those offerings when I'm playing Killer and feel confident that I can make some use out of it. But as a survivor? ######### the killer, 9 out of 10 times he'll just tunnel/facecamp and deny any and all possible BP gains. Green envelope is where it's at, giving my rando teammates just a little extra incentive not to DC simply because he went down first.
-
Shelter Woods and Wreckers Yard.
-
If that's true, that's a huge step forward (or backward, since with grades when I started DBD in 2020-21 I was matched appropriately with other new players). Now if only they got it to work mid-high level...
-
The most satisfying thing that I can think of is 3 random SoloQ survivors working together to save the fourth person trapped in the basement with everyone getting out. It's incredibly rare, but man does it feel good!
The second most satisfying thing is 4k-ing a bully squad.
