Didn't get to slap this on the wall of math and text, but give us a recycler. There are hundreds of thousands of useless offerings/addons. Let us just munch them for 50% return, or hell even 25%, anything. Dev streams have mentioned clutter, and this would not only help the grind, but the clutter as well.
-
@Peanits 6 for the survivors, and yea, it helps late game grind and that is nice. However, that doesn't help new players at all. They still have to grind out 19 survivors to level 40 to open up more perks for their pool. If they just start out they don't have the free perks from the other survivors. So 14 would equal about 42, but a bad/useless perk won't really make even a new player that happy. It actually starts to feel bad after awhile.
They still have to obtain those extra perks, meaning they're not getting new perks anyway so I'm not sure if that'd be a huge problem to just soak up some items. Not to mention a lot of people tend to stick to specific metas anyway. I've noticed the updates, but I still say tier 1 perks would solve a lot of the grind issues.
It's roughly 1.20~mil to get level 40, so 22,800,000 BP to unlock every teachable. Now imagine trying to get one to P3. That's another 4,500,000 BP just to get to P3 assuming you get perfect webs and only need 1.5mil to hit 50.
Now, you don't get perks every early level, but you do get more than og webs, but iirc there are still dead webs with no perks. So that wouldn't add to the overall perk total which is 57 teachables+15 open pool perks. That's 216 levels, per survivor. Assuming level 50 with a perk in EVERY web, which I'm pretty sure can't happen is 166 levels left. 50k~ to get a full web at 50. So if we go off new webs that's 83 levels needed, which is 4,150,000 BP to max out. 74,700,000 to max all survivors assuming they are level 50, and excluding the P3 grind.
This doesn't even cover if you want to prestige/max out killers. So, sorry but I don't see the new change as much of a fix to anything. Especially with the updates to make low tier perks nearly identical to their tier 3 counterpart. I'll be honest it seems like there is no actual desire to fix the grind and we're gonna be forced to just dredge along through awful perks to finally finish a build, and then even more grinding to say, "I maxed out x character(s)."
This fix doesn't even help new players. Easy fix to the, "No perks from 14-30." Change the way the perks show up. Every 2 levels you get a perk. Boom. Easy fix.

"I don't pay attention"
Woe is me, lets nerf DS because you can't be bothered to think "dwight with blue shirt was just hooked".
Woe is me, I'm a bad player and went down but it's ok the devs gave me a free escape cuz someone cried about dying in a video game. Also, way to ignore the, "My memory is bad." Sorry for having problems I'll just pop some tylenol and I'll be able to fix that right up.
Also, read what I said champ. If I hook someone else, and somehow down you after that, you didn't get tunneled.

oh come on, the majority of survivors are very differently dressed, if you can't keep track of a 4head survivor that you'll just hooked then you're the only one at fault.
I don't always pay attention, and my memory is pretty bad in the moment. Not everyone is perfect at video games like you are, I know, but we do exist. Even if I did they might not have the claws and why would I not hook someone I found after hooking someone?

It punishes people who tunnel the guy off of hook and/or can help prevent being farmed instantly
If you hate it so much, go for a different survivor or slug them for a whole minute if you are that kinda person.
It hasn't been a problem since the change.
Be me, goes after different survivor. Hooks them, sees BBQ aura. Chases survivor that didn't heal, didn't bother to counter me in a locker, and goes down quickly. Pick them up cuz no marker. Gets DS'd. They run to a pallet and extend the chase longer than it should be.
You all keep saying ######### about tunneling off the hook, but it's not always the case. Especially people who roll up to body block or take aggro knowing full well they're gonna force you to eat a stun.

Why survivor should be punished if his team is bad? Of course with team is always better but with randoms? They don't think. They only think about their own asses.
Why should I be punished for your mistakes? I didn't screw up, your team did. Why would you encourage it and make perks that reward these mistakes? You're telling a killer, that he's going to be punished, for playing optimally.
-
@Seanzu said:
I'm sorry but most people can track very easily who they have hooked or not, especially someone who has just been unhooked.
If you find the time to chase someone, down them, and hook them by the time you find the other survivor that may have DS active it'll only be active for a few more seconds, just wait it out.
If you make the timer any less than it is, you can tunnel and ds will be over by the time you've finished the chase/you'll only have to wait a few seconds after the chase is done to deactivate it.
Or sometimes in the heat of the game you don't remember, and you're not individually counting every singe person in hopes they don't have DS. Also there's nothing saying you have DS. The OBS can even be randomized so I have no clue.

Hmm if killer is close to the hook or someone if farming on hooked person, it's not his fault and don't deserve to be tunneled. And don't say this bullshit. Only tunnelers complain about ds xD
I have 4TB of videos that show you're wrong, but you do you boo boo. Also, you don't deserve to get away cuz your teammates an #########. Why should I be punished cuz your team is bad, or you are bad? Also that's not tunneling. I'm not gonna let the weaker player go if I need pressure. I play fair, but christ the idea that somehow going after the person that's full health with 3 hook states is somehow the better option is insane.

Cleansing for NoED actually rewards you more now, SO GET CLEANING, YOU GENRUSHING HIPPIES.
I'M TIRED OF DOING 3 OUT IF 5 TOTEMS ONLY TO REALIZE NOBODY ELSE DID ANY.As you can see I have gone through this a plethora of times.Ruin isn't even that bad to go against, just stop holding M1 until the gen stops sparking and you can get on your way. Or just get better with skillchecks. And with these garbage totem spots lately, it shouldn't be that hard to find it.
You can afford to stop healing if you hear TR, even though you should have healed much further away ANYWAY. And if you get hit anyway, maybe you should have watched your surroundings instead of just sticking your face in a Z wall by the corner of the map.
I wanna know who's complaining about BBQ, because they... Mmmm... I wanna know how to be that full of #########. 40. Meters. 4. Seconds. Literally, this perk is only used for Bloodpoints. The aura reading is just a minor plus to reward anti-tunneling/anti-camping.
Boom.

As has been said before, you really need to dial it back; if they got to the end of the game with DS active get saved, they absolutely should still have that perk...you shouldn't get punished for doing well.
And downing a hurt survivor that was just immobile isn't doing well.
But seriously stop with the aggression ffs. Talk like a human being would to others in real life.
I like how you take everything you don't agree with an as act of aggression. If this is aggressive I hope no one slightly raises their voice to you. Not sure how you'd react.
Please explain how they did well by getting downed off the hook, especially end-game? How do you know they did well? Maybe they just screwed around all match and constantly put their team in danger? Why do you deserve a free escape? As for immobile, you do realize they gave you immunity frames when being pulled off a hook right? There is a thing called body blocking and BT as well if it's an unsafe unhook.

@SunderMun said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/69860/slight-nerf-to-ds-to-promote-skillful-play
A good survivor being tunneled off the hook could easily run a killer for a minute or more, especially seeing as tunneling killer usually aren't actually that good, so a minute is absolutely fine. It doesn't need nerfing.
In fact, if downed with it active, it should be usable even if the timer runs out before being picked up imo (unless recovered by another survivor, of course) because otherwise a tunneler can, and usually will just wait it out if they don't want to be caught out.
Ah, so remove the ONLY counter, to further punish GOOD players, which is why they want this changed? Also makes DS completely safe and a totally free escape with an open exit gate? That's fair. You're right, no issues there.
-
@scerckan said:
since we're promoting skillfull gameplay how about nerf one of the 4 most used killer perks; Ruin, noed,nurses calling or bbq, when some of those get nerfed we can talk about nerfing AGAIN Ds or you just want to nerf the survivor side???
Ruin is a joke, even in the community it is known as a joke. You talk about skill but you can't hit a great skillcheck? The thing with skill in the name? Also Ruin can be destroyed immediately. I've got a video where 4 survivors spawned on my totem, Ruin is a meme stop pretending it does anything. If it does, you're not that stellar sorry.
NOED? Do. The. #########. Totems. It's so easy. There is a perk that tells you where they are, they all spawn in the same spots, on the same select tiles. Survivors don't even need perks to do well, so don't pretend like you can't slot in Small Game to learn spawns.
Nurse's Calling...You're actually complaining about Nurse's Calling? Hear TR? Don't heal. NC got nerfed so only killers with a lower TR/M&A will be able to catch you off guard. You even have Distortion if that's too hard for you to stop holding m1.
BBQ? You mean the perk that was already pretty much just used for extra BP, that was given multiple counters that you whiners STILL aren't happy with and don't use? Hide behind a gen, wait 4s and go a different direction, get in the killer's TR, run Distortion, or hide in a locker. You have that many counters, and you don't want killers to tunnel, but no BBC is a problem.
This is why a lot of killer mains don't take survivors seriously. It's not hard to play and you act like EVERYTHING a killer has is somehow insanely op cuz you refuse to adapt or do the simple things the devs gave you to deal with it. DS was bumped to 5s due to Enduring working on it which is hilarious cuz god forbid we actually have a counter for ANYTHING survivors do. Now Enduring doesn't work on it, so it shouldn't be 5s anymore. That's as the devs put it, "A logical change."

Till rank 1 (and even there it's arguable, given you should specify if talking about solo or swf), the game is killer sided :)
19 ranks against 1 rank :) You could pretty much say this game is 19/20 killer sided^^
Sincerly, a killer main.
The minute you hit green ranks, you start getting bullied by squads, and coordinated solos. Yea, plenty of potatoes, but that's where they start to pop up due to deranking/rank-resets. However this is off-topic.

Amen to that. Here's hoping a dev reads this and considers our suggestions. It wouldn't be game breaking, would add some tension+stall that we desperately need.
-
This is a question that has sat in my mind for a while now. Why does the killer easilly get so many more points then each survivor?
Killers get more points because it's 1 vs 4. You have to fight against the other 3 for points as well as work together. Also, killer is indeed stressful and a lot of them require addons to play effectively. This is coming from the devs themselves. Don't like dealing with x? Just run addons. Don't like gen rushing? Just use Ruin. Etc, etc. I do feel there could be more BP but when you add up surv vs killer score technically the "team" gets more during a good match. It's all on how you play it.
Also killers can't die, so they're pretty much guaranteed points. Especially seeing as they can break pallets, hit gens, and other actions that grant points without having to directly interact with survivors. Survivors kinda rely on killers to feed them points.
-
@Mochan said:

@SunderMun said:
@Caretaker Fair enough lol. I just feel like it could provide some extra information, really. If you have 2 people downed, wait out the perk and then instantly pick up the second, it could be that the first gen being worked on is now not being touched, while another is, so you know where a survivor working on a gen is, while you know the direction that the person saving is coming from (assuming an organised team) but I admit that wouldn't be too common.
That's kinda how I use it atm. It's not really stalling anything, it's more information. Though with a shorter cd it might actually have some decent stall if people were to panic or get off gen/finish one while you hooked. Obviously having a slug readily available is pretty rare, but still.
-
@Mochan said:
Leave DS alone.
If the game is going so well that you're hooking 3 guys in a minute, why do you still feel need to complain? How is this an annoying edge case? It seems like you're steamrolling the survivors.
And I don't even run DS. But surely there are better things to nerf when you an easily steamroll survivors in a minute.
It's an anti-tunnel perk, until you use it to purposefully go down and waste time. Then you're not using it as intended, and we can disregard the whole, "don't tunnel." Also, never underestimate how stupid people are. Some know how to use DS to milk extra time. Others are just exceptionally bad, and that's why they run so many crutches it's truly amazing how fast they can run on them. A 5s stun cuz you went down in a minute is stupid and completely broken end-game.
I can have one game where I 4k everyone without issue even 3 hooking everyone. Others I get steamrolled by the generic survivor build+swf+bad map. Everyone has good and bad games.

Jesus listen to you killers you want all the advantages - tons of Aura reading ######### yet be immune to aura reading yourselves. Never thinking about the survivor side of things.
Hey I heard you're having issues with easily countered perks so I've got a tip. Distortion. Also lockers block auras baseline cuz you all struggled with BBQ's previous counters. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. Also 1 person = all killers? Funny how you mention not thinking about the other side when your comment literally disregards the fact that a perk can entirely remove a killer's power. Spotted someone who doesn't play both sides.
-
@SunderMun said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/69954/thrilling-tremors
I don't see why it has to be on a CD to begin with; the point of it is to reward the killer by stopping gens from being worked on and providing them with information after successfully downing someone. Why should that have a CD?
If the issue is an idea of abuse by using the same downed survivor, well they can only do it a maximum of 3 times per down, and the fact is that it's a waste of time plus if that really was an issue, they could make it so it doesn't proc multiple times on the same down.
I feel it having a cd is fine, seeing as if you were to have a slug readily available you could just hook, wait, hook, and ride out a good 32s of lockout. Just want some reliable stall not stop them from playing. :P
-
It's 16s of locking gens down, but doesn't affect gens being worked on, and you cannot regress them. I don't see how it'd be THAT broken. Especially since it's on pick-up so you're wasting a minimum of 5~ seconds right there if not more unless you're under a hook. 30s would be a good middle ground and if you've got a slug available every 30s, the perks not what's winning that match.
Gotta remember it requires you downing survivors and picking them up/hooking them if that was changed to be a better activation.
-
@Atrushan88 said:
I'd also like it to be when you hook a survivor, not when you pick them up. It's kind of hard to focus on all the generators being worked on when you have a wiggling survivor in your arms and you're looking for a hook to put them on. Which mine is only rank 1 right now so maybe it's better at rank 3, but it's kind of frustrating right now.
Yea, that's a great change too. I'll add that to the top post.

I'm assuming a good player knows when it's time to pick up and when it's time to slug.
The only time I'll slug is when someone got farmed, or I literally have two people next to me. Otherwise I'm hooking. Slugging can be a huge risk. While you're off chasing someone else, they get fully healed and they're now on a gen while you're chasing in an area with fresh pallets.
-

Be reactive to what you're seeing. Sometimes people will run to you like boosted animals, but often if they do something suspect, it's for a reason. You can wait out the timer or use their slug for additional pressure (especially if more are nearby). The perk was remade to help people who get tunneled or found again right away. And even with that, there's counters floor it even with Enduring not affecting or anymore. The timer is fine where it is.
The timer was only increased, because of Enduring affecting it. Enduring no longer does, so why should the timer stay increased?

The Pig should also be immune when she is crouched.
Object of Obsession not being one of the most used perks doesn't change the fact that, when used, it makes Amanda's crouching and Ghostface's power pointless. A perk allowing to counter a killer ability to some extent is one thing (like Dead Hard for Nurse), but making the ability completely useless for the whole match is too unbalanced. And unfun for the killer.

So why not 5 seconds? ofc i agree it should be 3 sec if it stays like the current version. But if it only punishes actual tunnelers, then why not 5?
Because 5 seconds is plenty of time to get away. 4 was rough cuz Enduring dropped it to like 1s. They buffed it cuz of Enduring, which no longer works against it. So it should be a you have a chance, not here's your free stun you can't miss. Now run to the next pallet and extend the chase. You need all the time you can get as a killer. Why should survivors be most vulnerable right after being immobilized? Why should survivors cease to be able to play a match solely based on another player's actions? Why is it far more profitable for killers to tunnel and camp than to seek out a different player who hasn't made any contact yet?
Why is there the need for perks to modify player behavior (DS, BT, BBQC, MYC, H:DH, PGTW), when it could directly be dealt with through game design?
Ironically, you are the one that is obsessing over sides and asking all the wrong questions.
Invuln frames after being unhooked. We'll Make It to heal. Don't unhook inside the TR. Borrowed Time if they're camping. Why is it more profitable to go after the weaker target that I can remove so I can put an ounce of pressure on the game? Are you serious? Did you really just ask why making a 4v1 a 3v1 is a good idea?
Let's take my last game. I spawn in, find someone, start chase. Mark, down, gen pops. Ok, that was pretty fast. Cut to end game, 3 slugs, one gets off with BT, runs to unhook, they get adren and run across the map and leave. How is that fun or skill based? Are you gonna tell me that that survivor deserved that win? Cuz a perk? They didn't play well, they just held m1 ran to safe pallets, and relied on their crutches. There was 0 looping. Not a single person actually tried.
They just ran to a pallet, sat at it, moved to the next one. Then when I caught them they dead harded into the pallet, and repeated it. Why is this fun for survivors? Do you think you're special? Why are perks made to stop behavior, easy, people cried.
They made mistakes, they bitched, they got perks to fix their boo boos. It's what BHVR does. Instead of addressing actual issues, or gamebreaking bugs, they shuffle out a garbage perk and say they fixed it with bandaid soaked in drool. Let's go through your list.
DS: I got unhooked, now I'm immune for 60s. Just slug them right? Well slugging got nerfed, and every survivor cries about slugging so.
BT: Cuz making stupid saves/saves end-game with gates open when of course the killer will camp needed to be made fool-proof. Just needed to buff it what 3 times after it was finally addressed? Oh no, a rank 17 camped me, better add a perk to fix that up. Who cares that people will use it to cheese end-game and extend chases that shouldn't be extended.
BBC: Is for points. That's it. Also you have how many counters to it? If a killer has BBC and doesn't see an aura, why leave? If you're in a locker, they don't know. So yea, they'll stick around.
MYC: encourages killers to give you a chance and get away from the hook cuz they have actual pressure when they do. It's one of the few decent perks we have that encourage healthy gameplay and has a good counter/benefit.
H:DH: Blows before they can usually power it up, and let's face it the devs don't really have many more ideas for perks. Also, rank 17 camping you isn't a cause for alarm for players that don't tunnel or camp.
PGTW: Is a bad perk even after the change. 25% is fine, but you have to find a gen with that much done, have hooked someone, not be in a chase, and hope they don't just hop right back onto it.
My last match was miserable. I didn't tunnel, I didn't camp, and you know what happened? I lost a gen immediately. Then another, then another, then all gens were done, 2 adren'd, and one adren'd off my hook. Wow, I really feel good about completely losing a match cuz I wanted to play fair and care about the other side. That teabags me at the gate, and talks ######### cuz they lived due to a perk. Not skill, a perk that's been an issue for years, but it's ok, cuz, "It's only if all 5 gens pop!!!!" Which let's face it happens pretty often unless survivors screw up.
No offense, but i wanna be rewarded for making a good play. Not lose cuz I didn't want to be an ######### and facecamp the special person teabagging at every pallet pretending it'll somehow win their parents affection if they do.
Also, I play both sides. I've advocated for trash perks to be buffed and I'm happy they address older perks. I know how that side plays. I know it's frustrating to die immediately, but I also get the killer probably isn't gonna wanna let me go after I looped him for 3 gens with minimal effort.

Everyone gets to and does complain. DS is fine and should exist.
What other game rewards you for being saved/making stupid decisions? Also no, we can't complain. When we do we're salty whiny killer mains that just want easy 4ks. Which is super ironic given I see the same 6 or so perks from survivors every patch. DS gets nerfed, they all laugh about getting MoM. MoM gets nerfed suddenly devs are killer sided. It never changes.

Dude, chill. They're trying something new and recording the results. They'll make adjustments if there's enough data to support it. Just wait. Bring it up to the devs during the live stream on Thursday.
There was multiple threads stating they didn't like any of these changes. Especially the red vfx. I am chill, the devs don't listen. Even if I did bring it up Thursday they'd probably ban me from the chat or ignore me. That's kinda their thing.

5 seconds is "absurd" but you're cool with 4. Lol ok. Stop exaggerating.
You probably think survivor is hard and Freddy is op too huh? Do you want video? I can get plenty. DS shouldn't exist. Why should you get rewarded for being found? Why is it ok to make stupid plays and get a free 5s stun? Survivor mains are special. Same people that said MoM was ok and this nerf wasn't needed.
We lose perks all the time, but we don't get to complain. One minor thing happens to survivors. All hell ######### breaks loose and the devs need to be dragged out back. Play both sides. Tell me how much you enjoy getting stunned cuz you happened to be snowballing or playing well. Game is a joke.
Your entire gameplay loop holds your hands the entire time, you got friends to help you, perks to fix any mistakes you make. Downvote me into oblivion cuz someone dares speak against the holy DS.
