If i turn off my systems built in capture card and not use certain cosmetics the game runs fairly well.
It's ######### 2019 how crazy is it that i have to jump through hoops to make the game playable.

The best decision i ever made was deleting Dead By Daylight. The devs have made this game so rewarding for bad killers and hide it behind a terribly pixelated burning ground. I do not enjoy playing in Dead by daylight for one simple fact. They dont really kill any one. Like REALLY kill. DBD looks like a supped up PS3 title. At least in F13 Jason actually murders you a couple hundred ways and the graphics look alot nicer. The rewards for completing objective.. Not just finger banging a generator.
Dead By Daylight is a game where playing killer rewards you for being bad at the game. The Devs finally ruined DBD. I was devotion 5/54. I loved this game and Endgame Collapse ruined the experience to the point were i had to delete it. I went back to F13 and the new patch made the game a whole lot more enjoy.
Simply waiting for PREDATORS:HUNTING GROUNDS.
When the devs truely balances out this poor excuse of game i will happily come back to it. It;s a shame i can't get back my money for all the DLC and skins i bought.
3 Changes which killed this game of for me.
- Reducing the Field of View of the survivors..Not Cool.
- Secretly increasing the turning sensitivity for the killers on Console but not the Survivors. I tested both with videos i recorded from both points of views. These were not in the patch noted btw.
- ENDGAME COLLAPSE rewarding the killers with free kills. IMO once the timer ends the game should simple end with the survivors not getting any Escape Blood Points and the killers not getting free kills.
but hey what do i know? im just a self entitled survivor main whose really good at loop killers and saving my teammates.
Delete this ######### and come back to Friday, you ll be glad you did.
You're being kind of ridiculous if you are being serious. I suspect you aren't quite as good as you think you are.

Big bird would be horrifying actually.
A giant bird zombie thing is what I'm picturing.

I'm just saying they should buff it a little. I would run this perk way more often if it took less time to build. If it became a legitimate tool to use without requiring you to stalk the killer to get more than 2 per match it would be good for the game. We need more interactions like pebble and head on.

Yes but it's not EXCLUSIVE as it planned for console too.
If you can get it in the future camt you see your whole point is mute.
For it to be truly exclusive you would never have the chance to get it or be planned.
Being a console player are you familiar with early access games on steam?
There have been a few game that were dead and came back to life after the devs done a lot of work on them, thats what early access is all about, it's a bit like crowd funding as you get paid upfront for an unfinished game which is meant to grow into something you believe it will.
Deciding to sell it is not more variables it's two, cost of the port and can we make some money putting it on stores.
Right now console is still planned so the skins are not 100% EXCLUSIVE to one platform, you simply created a post saying the opposite due to what you think may happen, not what is currently.
Imagine being this much of a bhvr apologist lol sick mental gymnastics bruh

@Peanits said:
Generally speaking we do not like to do exclusives for the sake of exclusives. In the case of legacy, the only reason it is not available on consoles is because the console versions of the game were released after the cutoff date for legacy, so console players never experienced the longer bloodwebs.
If there was a good reason to reward players on all platforms, say if the progression system changes again, we definitely could, though. But I can't make any promises there.
Unless it's deathgarden exclusives for pc players, right? Totally fine with giving PC players more exclusives.

And then it turns out scream IS the next chapter?
If the new scream map is on haddonfield then my trust in you re: leaks is pretty shot.

You know that people creating content and those who try fixing bugs arent the same people? so why should other poeple stop working? makes no sense at all.
People who beat this drum have no understanding of how software development and release cycling work.
My company often delays new features in lieu of stabilization changes, despite them being driven by different teams. Prepping and releasing anything takes dev resources that could be spent working and developing the fixes. Lower environments being occupied with new content means they have to either create new environments or risk compatability errors.
Considering this teams propensity for ######### up branch merging, they should absolutely back burner new content while they stabilize things.
-
@Peanits said:
That's an interesting idea. How do you suggest that would work, exactly? How much would it cost to raise a perk that you have up by a tier? And to play Devil's Advocate a little, why would someone choose to continue filling out bloodwebs if they already have the tier 1 perks they want?
You know that most killers are super addon dependent, right?

This is all incredibly recent stuff. Major survivor nerfs that have hit, since I've started, includes:
Brand New Part nerf
Insta-blinds nerf
Pallet vacuum removal
Exhaustion nerf
Pallet count nerfs
Opening up may layouts, such as Lery's and Swamp variations
Changing the lighting system and removing Moon addons
Improvement of the audio system to be more accurate/louder for killers
I mean, there's more than those, but those are all huge nerfs to survivors. "Killer mains" on this forum are a bunch of whiners that like to selectively forget everything they've gotten. Every single change I listed was warranted, and they don't include other major boons to the game, such as Spirit Fury and Bamboozle for dealing with certain mechanics. Nothing is perfect, but dear lord this game is so much better for killers than it used to be.
Why should we be happy with "better than it used to be"?
The game was a joke this time last year, and now its just okay balance wise. Bandaids don't fix problems, they just make them easier to ignore.
-
I think scream is bonkers overrated and he looks like he'll be a strictly better michael (Michael fan boy) so I'm a bit salty tbh
-
First they came for thana...
-
Killer main who plays 5x more survivor than killer checking in.
Games are more stressful than fun, and there's no real incentive to grind when it takes literally millions of bp to get decent perks, much less perks for fun builds to try (which you are usually punished for anyway)

Thats not how it is supposed to work though you cant just dead set the hatch game since this game was a trial and then just ruin it by making it completely impossible to escape as the last survivor. Go on somewhere unless you have something useful kid

Yeah it is true I don’t play as the killer and probably should to learn but what I have noticed and I’m sure people on console notice, is that people are creating new accounts and absolutely destroying new players like myself. Which then starts to make the game unfun. I played against a rank 20 killer who destroyed all survivors in less than 5 minutes of the game. His gamer score according to Xbox is 2000.
They might just legit be new, at rank 20 survivors don't know ######### they are doing.
-
Who ######### cares?
-
It's worth pointing out that on consoles it's trivially easy to party up with people you didn't queue with. I'll solo queue periodically if my team isn't on and i get party invites from the randoms in my lobby all the time. Bam, now we have a swf group that the system can't track accurately.
Peanits was pretty clear about not drawing conclusions based on these facts, it's good to see people disregarding that to fit their narrative.
-
@CronaWins said:
@Yamaoka It doesn't matter what the rest of the map looks like. What you have listed is generally on this map (the window loop is not an infinite either) regardless of the generation.
Besides, it's not just things like this that bother me. It's the inconsistency. We still have double pallet loops spawning on other maps.
And you weren't in the game so don't make assumptions from a screenshot.
You get that ironworks spawns a particular way every time, right? It's not assumptions, it's map knowledge.
-
It's to distract us while they scramble to fix the game. Dunno if I'm gonna bother coming back just quite yet.
-
I'm nervous because console is such a ######### show we'd be at a disadvantage vs pc players
-
Honestly I'd like to know what numbers are like for consoles. I'd imagine the % of swf increases dramatically with the console emphasis on partying up with friends.
Rather than requesting a specific stat, can you just also provide console numbers? Us xbox players feel pretty left out in general.

Don't like your house? Just buy a bigger one.
Don't like your job? Just quit and get another one.
Don't like how your deep freezer is running? Just buy a newer one.
Its a good thing I have all those money trees growing in the back yard! Can't wait till harvest day!
Right? Let me just buy a PC so i can give the devs more money because the console port is garbo.

So you're discouraged by patches that balance out a PvP game with two sides that are not equal in any way shape or form? It's also quite obvious and reasonable why >licensed< characters can't be obtained with in game currency.
About changing up things along the way, it's not in their control at all. The entire point of the end game collapse is to stop survivors from holding the game hostage by not leaving and hiding with almost no way to find them. The devs don't have superpowers to predict such scummy and disgusting sportsmanship so they had to figure something out. The changes that are being made to help stop these scum from holding games hostage have to come with a lot of balancing with certain killers and there could be nerfs or buffs along the way. It's PvP game that is constantly getting updates, I don't get why some of you get so shocked and pissed with every balance patch note.
It's worth noting pig came out just before the second anniversary, so they absolutely knew holding the game hostage was a thing.
They needed a "win" so they made the egc and nerfed anything that got in the way as an afterthought.

I've heard the complaints, but here are my thoughts. I think what really matters most here is we finally have a fix for an annoying issue this game has had since day 1...when playing as killer, either you kill all but one survivor, OR all but one survivor escapes, and now it's up to you to search the entire map endlessly for who knows how long just to find the last survivor who, for some reason, won't just escape and end the game already. Knowing that this new endgame feature gives them just 3 minutes to do that, or they die, is literally all I care about. Can't tell you how many games I've had where I circled the entire map countless times searching for them for as long as it took. The endgame is a most welcome change in my book.
Why are we so happy with scraps? It took them 3 years almost to remove a griefing issue?
This is supposed to be an end game rework, instead we got a fancy concede button and a hatch rework.

Killers werent playing smart\optimal. SWF is nothing?
Swf is nothing but you need them to be perkless? Dude this thread is not a good look for you.
-
I feel like the end game collapse really misses the point and feels like killer complaints have been ignored.
A common complaint I've had and seen from other killers is that once the gens are done you have to keep doors closed, because once they open you basically auto lose. It's not impossible and you can punish overaltruism and snowball to late victories if you have decent control of the game, but minor coordination and perks like borrowed time and you can pretty easily rescue even if the killer is face camping. There are huge zones around exits where you basically can't kill a healthy survivor without an insta down.
I feel like the devs have been promising an end game rework for ages, so when they announced the egc i was stoked. Then it turns out it's literally just a glorified concede option and a hard limit to how long you can be held hostage. An excellent addition for sure, and It also makes the hatch standoff a little more fair for the killer which is nice.
However, i think this is it. I doubt they have any further plans to rebalance the end game, so instead we're limited to a toxicity screen.
So we have an overly simple primary objective that can be completed in 3 minutes by an efficient team and a shorter end game that has less counters than before. It feels like we might just be stuck ice skating uphill as killer boys.

@ScottJund said:
I still think these experiments were meaningless. All they proved was that if you did the strongest thing you could do as a survivor (4 man genrushing with comms and perfect coordination), you will rarely lose.
Like...no #########. If you do the strongest possible thing you can do you will win the majority of the time against mostly random people.
If you do the strongest possible thing you can do as killer (Omegablink Nurse) you will win the majority of the time. Both sides have an option to do something so brokenly strong that few things will counter it.
But the reality is: you extremely rarely go against a truly good Nurse who is also using omegablink, and you extremely rarely go against a very coordinated 4 man SWF who is playing like they're in a tournament for some reason, so why would anyone use any of this information as a reference of balance?
Saying "SWF is too strong, look at the Marth experiments" is as dumb of a statement as "Killer is too strong, look at Marth playing omegablink Nurse." You're ignoring the other 99% of games that aren't these situations. Normal, even four man SWF groups, do NOT play like that.
Everyone always says "The point was to prove how broken SWF CAN be" but Omegablink Nurse in the hands of an extremely good Nurse player is absolutely just as broken and for some reason no one ever comments on that.
I mean, people constantly talk about nerfing Omega blink nurse so I don't know what you're on about. There's also a false equivalency in that Nurse may win with those OP addons, but she loses them every game, where as there is zero cost to survivors to coordinate and gen rush every game, aside from pipping. The experiment is still and was then, a good example of how this is not a competitively balanced game. But you're right, even the devs have said that the game isn't supposed to be competitively balanced.
Having said that, "People don't play like that" is just a bad argument based on your (admittedly large) personal experience. It's hardly proof of anything. I play on Xbox where I get party invites from the other survivors while playing solo at least 50% of the time, and any communication is a massive leg up. It's a straw man of epic proportions to act like it takes Navy seal level coordination to gain a MASSIVE advantage over a killer of equal skill.

Ok thanks I didn't see that and I think you should be able to and simply have it drain the Frenzy bar and once the person hooked/dropped it starts to recharge.
Yeah got that one mixed up thanks for catching that.
I thought they added more this patch or perhaps that was a discussion where they talked about speeding it up more.
I played Legion as soon as they came out and actually had a lot of fun playing them how they were supposed to be played. Spread the damage around multiple targets then go for whomever is most available.
They weren't a strictly M1 killer then and they're not one now either, you get a free hit from Deep Wounds. Then you M1 them with the new changes and get an easy down, hook them=profit.
I main Spirit and i still see a lot of really good Pigs, Doctors, Bubba's, Myers, Wraiths etc. This patch change isn't going to suddenly make ppl that main those stop playing them.

This is why public forums don't work. The ignorant and misinformed tend to drown out all others. Many philosophers often spoke to this fact.
