This happened to me too. Just another reason 2v8 sucks.

At those numbers it sounds like you want a buff that will just win you the game. Base-Kit Pop Goes the Weasel, BBQ & Chili, and haste on hook aren't meaningless no matter how much you turn your nose up at them. Hell, I usually run Pop & BBQ - now I have 2 free perk slots to fill with whatever the hell I want.
Lol. How much gen regression do you ACTUALLY think we're going to get? I'm betting on an extra 5%. MAYBE 10%. That's an extra 4-9 seconds. Be still, my beating heart. It's not going to be basekit BBQ, either. It'll likely be more like Pinhead's notifications when he picks up the box. That's immune to Distortion, lockers, etc. It's also a lot less useful than auras, because you basically get a general direction instead of exact location.
I've seen some posters parroting the party line after some content creators and influencers posted their 'killer is hard' complaint videos (usually over gameplay footage of them continuing their win streaks on the very killers they're complaining are weak). This doesn't negate my own personal experience of killer not being that hard where 3K + hatch and 4Ks are the majority of matches.
Plus, haven't you seen all the posts about how tunneling is unfun?
Are you a casual killer? Because I seem to remember saying "casual killers." Odd, that. I'm not talking about no-lifers who haven't seen a blade of grass in months. I'm talking about people with families and jobs that have limited amounts of play time and aren't going to spend it getting repeatedly bagged at the exit gates.
I've seen killer queue with a blood point bonus ONE time right after TWD's release and it has since gone back to a permanent BP bonus for survivor and long queues for killer in all but a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Killer queues are miserable - not 2v8 miserable, but still longer than I'm usually willing to wait for.
Funny. Because I saw it pretty much every time I played after about 8 or 9 pm. And right now, there's 2v8, which always makes killer queues long. Which is why I don't play during 2v8.
I disagree. I think that's little more than fearmongering designed to protect a tactic that killers have come to overemploy to the detriment of the game.
I guess we'll see. Well, you will. I'll be playing Silksong. I have no intention of playing this game again until these changes are either scrapped or killer is MASSIVELY buffed in other ways.
I'll also be playing Silksong. This is a great time to step away from DbD.

Yeah it's super easy to win as surv yet here I am, dying 10 survivor matches in a row, very often to players worse than me that played cheap. I've never lost 10 killer matches in a row. I also barely find myself affected by second chance perks. If you don't tunnel or slug, you might get the occasional DH or DS activation, but I never even notice when people have Unbreakabke or OTR.
In what way would you like people doing the objective to be punished for doing it? What else should they be doing? There are no other objectives unless the killer has some built-in, like RBT and the lament configuration. I'm all for having more of those secondary interactables.
And clearly what's been shown isn't going to be all there is, forever. If half of this even gets past the ptb, it's going to need constant adjustments, especially in regards to how perks interact. If stats suddenly shift insanely towards survivor, the devs will notice and changes will be made. This is going to be an evolving group of complex changes yet everyone is instantly doom-and-gloom about it.
here I am, dying 10 survivor matches in a row, very often to players worse than me that played cheap.
If they beat you, they weren't worse than you.

They're going to have a lot of fun with survivor queues if any of these changes go live lol.
They'll be genuinely happy about it, I'm sure.

Not most of this year, but since the anniversary? Yeah. After the Kaneki and Springtrap hype died down, queue times have been pretty good. I even see BP bonuses for the killer role during prime and night time hours.

Idk where you are but killer queues have been borderline instant before 2v8. Survivor queues were actively climbing in fact at least on NA east even during weekends. I can only imagine what survivor queue times are gonna be like after 2v8 ends and ESPECIALLY when the anti tunnel and slug measures release.
People are pretending killer queues have been 10 minutes long all the time so they can claim the game is dying because survivors are sad and these changes are needed to save it.

he says it'll save the game, not if a lot of killers stop playing if this goes live.
That probably is saving the game, in his eyes.
-
"I'm so tired of playing against Ghoul."
Y'all about to get a lot more tired, myself included.
-
@Foggyguy said:
Lol nah, it'll probably be what saves the game. Unless you've been living under a rock killer ques are abysmal because fewer and fewer people play survivor and if anything could kill this game it's waiting a long time to actually get into a game.
Killer queues have been perfectly fine, you're making things up.
-
Oh, and we can't forget the constant teammate ragequits so I end up with several bots that are even dumber in 2v8 than they are in 1v4.
-
"everyone is just having a good time"
Yeah, I love every survivor match being against Blight or Legion.
Yeah, I love queuing for 30 minutes to play killer only for my teammate to be AFK for 90% of the match.
A good time. Right.
-
Someone was a jerk to me.
Better project my bad experience onto thousands of people I've never met.
-
My only problem with 2v8 is that it wrecks the 1v4 queue so it's either play the casual party mode and wait half an hour to make tiny progress on killer quests, or don't play killer at all.
And killer in 2v8 has not been fun for me anyway.
-
I'll never understand this community's fixation on persecuting anon players.
-
I want Part 2s just to have more iconic survivors. I want Dr. Loomis from Halloween, and any of the Colonial Marines from Aliens. I'd also be happy with Sheriff Breaker or Barry from Alan Wake.
-
I would have preferred a decent soundalike for both voicelines and screams, instead of this hodgepodge of actual actor with terrible screams.

Only if these prerequisites are met:
- Has to be Strahd
- New map based on the Curse of Strahd maps
- releases in 2v8 immediately with Vecna, Dracula, and Pyramid Head to do battle of the vampires
Why is Pyramid Head included? I have nothing against him but he's not very vampiric.

rolling a 1 and being eaten doesn't excite you?
It's almost as exciting as opening a treasure chest and getting the exact same boots I already have. Boots boots boots boots and more boots.
-
I have never enjoyed playing against Vecna, ever. He's a guaranteed miserable experience every time.
-
x1.25 BP shouldn't even exist. It should be x1.5 and then x2.0 and that's it.
-
I don't want more basekit perks for either side.
-
Same as usual. Fine, I guess. I get a mix of good and bad matches. Sometimes I get those toxic and/or tryhard killers who are making it their goal to deliver the most miserable match possible (hello Ghoul with Pain Res/Grim Embrace/PGTW, why are you THIS desperate to win?). Sometimes I get teammates who do everything wrong like pointlessly clustering together, poorly hiding so the killer gets an easy first hit, and most importantly not doing gens or worse, doing the wrong gens so we get 3genned.
And sometimes I get matches where none of those things happen, I get teammates who know how to play the game, and I get a killer who is just playing the game instead of pretending we're in a tourney.
-
Nah, a couple survivors and legendary skins is enough. Negan would be better as a survivor than a killer anyway.
But I would really appreciate if they made an actual real map and replaced Fallen Refuge with it. The map could be anything, the farm, the prison, any of the settlements, just something better than… that.

I only ever buy it if I've gotten past level 70 already since it's essentially free at that point.
I only buy it when I've already made a lot of progress and I'm certain I'm going to keep playing until level 70.
Not feeling certain this time.
-
Patting myself on the back for not buying this rigged Rift.
-
Jim is proof that BHVR can abuse this community as much as they want and they'll take it with a smile so long as the corp plays it off as just a joke.
The fact that people are attacking you and others over voicing your discontent with this PR stunt is genuinely disturbing.
-
Increase Bloody Party Streamers to purple rarity, which will counterintuitively make it appear more because it will have less items in the pool to compete with.
And while you're at it, increase the bonus of the Bound Envelope to +50% BP for everyone, and make it purple too.
-
We don't even have enough servers over here, I'm in the American Midwest and I get the same ping problems. It was actually okay before the TWD update but since then half my matches are almost unplayable with how laggy they've become. Rubberbanding everywhere, unresponsive killer powers, hitting survivors except they're not hit and they teleport five feet away, getting hit over vaults like the killer's weapon is teleporting to me, it's horrible and yet another reason for me to stop playing this game.

NGL it's kind of amusing that the only reasonable change was escapes lol that only doubled compared to everything else that tripled or more
I'll never understand why BHVR never goes for reasonable, gradual changes. They could have increased everything by 1.5x instead of 3x, and then adjust the next Rift based on those results. But no, we jumped straight to this absurdity. More grind, less reward. This is the first Rift since I started playing that I might not finish, because it's absurdly grindy and it makes me lose enthusiasm to play. They can't FOMO me into self-harm. Also most of the cosmetics are mid anyway, I want Detective Unknown and nothing else.
And can someone remind me, is it normal for there to be only three outfits on the free track? I could have sworn past Rifts weren't that barebones.

Yeah I hear that. It's like Chaos Shuffle: Human Edition.
Probably the most satisfying things I've ever accomplished have been in soloq. I had a teammate get downed on an upper floor of Dead Dawg yesterday after gens were done and the killer was just waiting for him to bleedout. The other two (a duo, I think) gave up and left. I stayed on the lower level and used gestures to get him to crawl to a hole and drop down. I someone got him up and out the door with seconds left before bleedout. Pulling off something crazy like that with zero communication or knowledge of each other is a feeling that can't be beat.
One of my recent success stories was getting a 4E against a Ghoul in SoloQ on Backwater Swamp. My teammates could last in chase and did generators. The doors are open but I'm the last to the open gate and the Ghoul catches me and downs me. The three teammates are all in the gate and trying to distract the killer. I have Unbreakable. The Ghoul is distracted long enough that I pick myself back up and run off while everyone else escapes. I manage to loop the Ghoul around the dock and shake them just long enough for me to reach the gate, but they do their tentacle grab that blocks the exit gate for some insane BHVR reason. I get downed at the blocked exit, but at the very literal last nanosecond before I'm picked up, the block goes down and I crawl out to escape.
That's probably one of the finest SoloQ moments I've had in recent memory. It's possible to succeed and have a good time in SoloQ. It may be unlikely, but it's possible, and I've experienced it multiple times over years.
-
I don't have any friends to play SWF with and I don't like adding randos as friends. I play in anon mode anyway. So I play nothing but soloQ. I have miserable experiences but I have good ones too.
And honestly, when I'm having a bad match and I'm getting frustrated, I'd rather be getting frustrated with strangers instead of friends.

Great, then I "only" need 90 escapes still. Not gonna happen in solo queue, lmao.
And 2750 hooks ? ######### ? Poor killers, no wonder some of them sweating like crazy.
I'm usually always annoyed when the killer sweats too hard from the start, but now that I see these numbers, I can even feel a little sympathy. What a pressure.
BHVR, at the very least, doesn't encourage a healthy playstyle with these challenges.
I've stopped doing the Finisher Mori because you need every single hook you can get.
This is not healthy nor enjoyable game design.

Not babying anyone, Kindness is just better way to inspire to get stuff done. Way better than the current sickening work-environment that is going on right now. Nah, I have the people who work at BHVR in mind, They need my love and it will be refreshing for them to not see someone who yells and spits at them. Human psychology still works the same.
Sure, alright. Let's all give BHVR kindness, instead of money. Maybe that'll inspire the work that the game needs, because the money they make off their fans clearly hasn't.
-
The corporation composed of grown adults doesn't need you babying them.

I truly cannot wait to see what the step 10s look like.
A part of me is wondering if Step 10s will even be possible without 24/7 play.
-
I've gotten it a handful of times. It's thoroughly underwhelming in both aesthetics and design and I haven't enjoyed playing it on either side.
-
Having a ranked queue will not do anything to stop tryhards and sweaties from playing in the casual queue. If anything it could make it worse as they specifically go in where there's presumably less skilled players just to pubstomp them. Even if it's for reduced rewards, that's not the point, the point is simply screwing over other players for personal amusement.

No, we need less reasons to tunnel not more. Any suggestions that directly or indirectly buff tunneling are terrible.
Maybe after the devs finish phase 2 and if they make it so tunneling is actually gone this could be something to consider but as it stands it's just a bad idea.Any suggestions that directly or indirectly buff tunneling are terrible.
So literally any and all anti-heal perks and add-ons in the game is pro-tunneling? Do you support removing all anti-heal from the game then?

The dbd situation reminds me of Warzone. They all making videos complaining about the state of the game, cheaters, "warzone all time low" etc, but at the same breath the same people still playing the game 24/7 buying their stuff etc.
All DbD has to do is make a $5 charm/badge of that metal pole in the loading screen and act like "haha we're in on the joke too, we care about the community" and it'll all be forgiven as the money rolls in.

I know I'm reconsidering wanting my favorite licenses in the game, if this is how they'll be handled.

Depends what you define as casual, someone who literally barely plays the game?
Dailies from the start give you like 70% of the rift, lets say that takes 1-2 games a day. You can easily get the 10 extra levels just from natural milestone progression doing those games a day so you should get the base rift done simply playing the bare minimum through the rift duration with the deep rift being extra rewards.
This isnt even counting bonus fragments or event rewards giving them (which there always are). Ultimately people need to actually play the game to get rewards, and the team want you playing the game more too.
Requiring constant every-single-day engagement is exploitative design. I played DbD plenty enough already, but demanding I play every day like it's a job is repulsive and only pushes me away from the game. "Just play the game every day for the next three months" is not reasonable or respectful.
-
I play on controller so sometimes it's easier for me to play him as an M1 killer instead of a projectile-thrower.

"You learn more through collaboration than you do through validation. Hell even in game, you get better at survivor/particular killers by going against them, as you learn what they would do in a situation you will likely later find yourself in. The best way to learn either role is to play the opposite. Same applies to discussions, if nothing else, having disagreements with the other role gives you insight into the struggles they might have and helps you build your game plan around it." - Sun Tzu or something idk.
I wish this worked for me. No matter what side I play, I feel like the other player has psychic powers and knows how to perfectly counter me at all times and I have no idea how they do it.

Constantine would be great, but you'd have to be careful what version. Modern DC Constantine is probably a bit too high-powered, but the older Vertigo Constantine would be just the right level of savvy and prepared to have an edge without being too strong.
He'd probably have an Invocation, which is unfortunate for strength but great for theming, lol.Best bet is gonna be horror comics over the usual cape fare I feel - hell, TWD started as a comic - but some stuff from more mainstream areas could work. I've often considered Scarecrow an interesting pick for a killer, I feel he'd fit well enough.
Plus, it'd never happen, but man, Harper Row as a survivor would be so cool.If the Entity can depower Alucard, it can handle Constantine. But I agree he is probably the first and foremost best comic book character we could have as a survivor.
As for killer… honestly, I would pick Scarecrow from the Batman comics. Though considering popularity power is a thing, if BHVR got any character from DC, they'd probably get The Joker.
-
I'm still waiting on Rifts for Adam and Jeff, but BHVR thought it was more important to double up on Yui and Jane, like they needed the attention.
-
Why would the Italian-Argentinian have a kilt?
-
Why mods haven't just outright banned the tribalism posts is beyond me. They are always made in bad faith, be it to ragebait or attack other people, they never lead to productive conversations, they're never mature and respectful, they contribute literally nothing positive to the forum and only serve to foster a hostile and toxic discussion environment. It's just kids screaming at each other on playgrounds because it's someone else's turn with the ball.
-
Is anyone going to acknowledge this or are we going to memory hole this to fuel this agenda??
Have I accidentally ended up on a crackpot political forum? I should not be seeing comments like these about a video game.
