  • CoH is hard to actual balance.

Say healing each other should take less time than self heal.

Giving ability to self healing without speed boost still let survivor to spread pressure.

Giving speed boost without self healing would make healing too fast.

So they remove Self healing ability. While keeping Speed boost, but since its would be still powerful for survivors healing a teammate for 12sec.

Says who? You could say that about several perks in this game. Doesn’t change the fact that the first time DH was nerfed, killer mains got what they asked for and then when survivors adapted and learned how to use the scraps that were left, it had to get nerfed again because the issue was never how the perk worked it was the fact that it even existed to begin with and screwed with the killers getting an easy win, and the killer role is clearly favored by devs.

DH was designed to give David who's being injured in the beginning - another healthy state. The game getting more competitive and everyone wants to win, DH is nothing more than the 3rd health state which should not have.

I also think tunneling to make chase of 1 health state is unfair. DH is the only answer to it. But at the same time it hurts fair play killers like me alot. Im glad its gone.

No matter the change, the concept of DH giving the 3rd health state still stand, its just get harder and harder.

Survivors still can bring so many perks and toolboxes with add ons that gens are still ridiculously fast. I really don´t think that is necessary enumerate here all gen speed perks right?

Dead hard is nerfed? Yeah, hell yeah, but after how long? 6 years? LoL and believe me, it will still used alot. But you know something? You can use Sprint Burst, Overcome, Lithe, Smash Hit, Balance Landing... There are alot of good exaustion perks to be used... And how many good perks for gen regressions killers will have? Hmmm Jolt? How you would feel with ALL this exaustion perks were little by little one after another being nerfed for years?!

Heals are nerfed? Yeah, they were ADD ONS stronger than perks! Absurd! Wanna fast heal? There is alot of perks that will allow you to heal faster.

Killers can bring many perks to extend a healing equal to half a Gen for each hit you get. If you bring perks/addon/item to justify the nerf isnt enough.

I dont know why DH not being nerfed for years is the reason they should nerf other aspect further. It is like you want the other side suffer because you felt suffered, than you want the game to be balanced

Items and addons should be stronger than Perks. Perks are one time purchase, Items and especially Addons is gone after a match.

If both players have Botany then the healing goes from 48 to 32 seconds. If they both have botany and killer has sloppy it goes from 60 to 40. Man botany is such a good perk next patch.

I would not say something is suddenly good because the base is really bad...

To OP, I saw this the moment to see base healing to 24sec. Its not simply just 8sec per heal as most killers see.

  • We have:

    • Survivor (shorter): - - - Gentime - - - : (longer) Killer
    • Survivor (longer): - - - Chasetime - - - : (shorter) Killer
    • Survivor (shorter): - - - Healtime - - - : (longer) Killer

They nerf DH which shorter chase time, all heal get 8sec longer per healing in general

    • Survivor (longer): - - - - - -> Chasetime : (shorter) Killer
    • Survivor (shorter): - - - - - -> Healtime : (longer) Killer

Its easy to understand they nerf Gen time

    • Survivor (shorter): Gentime <- - - - - -: (longer) Killer

Of course, don't get me wrong. There already a lot of healing perks. I'm just saying that BHVR by doing this change to healing, they will just have more room for newer healing perks

I dont think you need more healing perks when you can use only 4 of them at any time.

The “room” is for the ideas for more healing perk, but so many of them already.

Do Gen to get heal. Heal others to get heal. Do totems to get heal. Other taking hit to get heal. Getting unhooked to get heal. More injured for faster heal. Unhooking for faster heal. People sees your aura to getting heal. Other losing health state to get heal….

Perk idea is about you do something to get rewarded on other thing. And I feel ideas are almost depleted because the lack of things you can interact in game

"The whole point of bringing a medkit is healing yourself. This means all self healing builds (you know, those fun ones where you stack healing speed) are now almost dead."

It´s almost like negating a killer´s work within 10s is busted.

1 survivor not doing Gens, using all 4 perks to heal others, running around to injured teammates who are afraided to do Gen because of being injured.

Thats the whole picture, not negate a Killer’s hit in 10sec.

No matter how strong Dedicated Altruism healing build, its not OP. Only Self heal for 16sec is matter

I think these are some of the worst changes I've ever seen.

i consider OC/COB/Pain res base game because most of killer were using these perks. If your using perks, your changing the base game with said perks such that when those perks get nerfed, you are weakening the killers base-kit. All that changed for survivor base-game is med-kit healing was reduced from 16->24 seconds and their healing perk COH will changed for a different perk(Build to last).

However you see, perks are not basegame. Should I see DH base game? DH nerf means base chase time is also nerfed for Survivor?

My point is between Healing and Gen, both action should give an equal advantage to make Survivors consider to either do Gen or Healing. My main question still stand. Why 2 survivors should heal each other for 48sec, while they can do a Gen is 52sec?

Is Build to last + healing build would save more time than Build to last + Gen build?

Healing action should rewards more than doing Gen to make survivors "not to touch Gen and healing"

Should I mention, ignore healing and Gen rush is already a thing for years for skilled Survivors. They didnt need healing from the beginning, the change just make Gen rush even harder.

Killers lost 150% regression from COB and OC nerfs. They also lose Pain res. Survivor will easily still heal 4 times with a single med-kit using Build to last perk. Killers have to find new perks as their previous ones were killed.

Not the same comparison, healing nerf is the base nerf, not perk.

50% base healing nerf is the same to Gen base time dropped to 60sec.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3380608#Comment_3380608

its not redundant. survivors with a med-kit will be able to heal in 24 seconds. with add-on, you can heal total of 2 times. With Build to last(Felix perk), You can go into locker and recharge your med-kit from 0->100%. This is 4 total heals. Sloppy butcher will easily become new meta. Build to last+Med-kit are new meta for survivor. Once again, Perk A(COH) being replaced by perk B(Build to last).

On killer, since pain res, cob and overcharge have been neutered. Healing slowdown will be most popular slowdown to run. In addition to sloppy butcher, you will see be seeing Jolt+Eruption+Deadlock+Sloppy butcher. You might not see these perks all run at once, but you will be seeing combination of these perks as new gen defence meta.

Survivor only need change 1 perk to fix their meta and just keep using same items. Killer need change their entire build. huge changes for killer. very minor changes for survivor.

+8sec for every heal affect more than you think just buying 8sec for each hit you get.

  • @TigerSnake said:

Sloppy Butcher. Pop looking nicer with all the other nerfs. You may still see Over Brine just because there’s nothing better to use, so might as well.

Sloppy is redundant when survivors dont heal at all.

if you think 2 survivors willing to spend 60sec to heal each other instead of 52sec doing Gen..

  • @Beatricks said:

My prediction is that boons are dead in the water until they introduce a boon totem that gives 5% gen repair speed to generators in their range.

I would suicide on hook if a teammate spend 16sec of Booning to save 4.5sec of Gen time

  • @Caiman said:

I can take all the other changes in the game, but nerfing med kits and COH at the same time is really overkill. It should have been only one of them.

Nah, they both deserved it, and good riddance.

And again, camping, tunneling, and 3-gen holders are not even been addressed.

Yeah, it's not like they nerfed the two perks that made 3-gens very easy to hold. That totally didn't happen at all.

If 2 survivors healing each other, most killers see it as survivors pressure is completely reseted, but dont think about the fact that Survivors lose 32sec real time, or 64sec Gen (16sec for both survivors per heal, x2 heal)

in my other post, when 2 survivors healing each other take 48sec real time. Its better to rush a Gen within 52sec.

Then what after? Asking for Slowdown buff or Gen time increase again

  • You got me wrong. Survivors have 2 main thing to do. Gen or Heal while Gen has better priority. If Healing take the same time as Gen in the sample situation, people would just Gen rush.

Further more. If 1 survivor dies. 2 injured survivors literally can not afford to heal for 48sec, and the 4th survivor down, making infinity chase-unhook-heal and Gen will never be done. Unless again, ignore healing to Gen rush.

The problem of healing is a single Brown medkit can already save 16sec from another teammate to heal you, and it has various better versions, with Charge addons, and multiple it by 4.

16sec of Altruism healing is never a problem

  • Is survivor healing each other still 16sec?

  • Me sleeping knowing I can draw Bill naked but decide not to do

I understand the metaphor, but it doesn't work.

Punching someone unnecessarily is a bad thing to do. Trying to win a video game isn't.

The problem with the metaphor is that it conflates trying to win at a video game with something wrong (or, at the very least, anti-social). I disagree with the entire premise of the metaphor.

If you reframe the metaphor any way you choose such that the "bad thing" is approximately on the same moral level as "making someone feel bad by besting them in a game" then the attempt of the metaphor to make the person who is trying to win feel bad about trying to win falls flat. As it should.

Wait 40% is okay? I faintly remember there being an outrage when the official number was ~39%.

Well not that i have any clue myself, but what would you consider more "correct" ( tchnically they both could be):

    1. A fair game would be: Killer player win chance (chance for >2 kills) = survivor player win chance (each individual survivor chance to escape)
    2. Fair would be: Killer player win chance (chance for >2 kills) = survivor team win chance (chance for >2 escapes)

Its quite hard to pinpoint what a fair 50:50 is supposed to be in this game . Especially since we cant decide if survivors are a team or what a killer win is lol. Because according to community killing half the survivors isnt even a win for killers. While 2 escapes either means a draw or 2 survivors winning.

Im currently too tired and probably salty to try such math riddles lol.

The 50:50 rule is simple on survivor's side. 50 escape and 50 death.

On killer's side is more complicating. If apply 50:50 from survivor's side, it would be 50 kill and 50 escape.

Though many killers think its 50 win and 50 lose, and to each of their own, win conditions are different, some only see 4K as winning. Means two match, having 3K each match considered 2 loses. But to Devs they're already far exceed the kill rate that they should be (75%).

Survivors are getting use to 40% escape, what makes them complain is tunneling, camping, and recently with new found 3 Gens.

  • Yes!!!!

I want my chance is 50 escape /50 death. Not 40 escape / 60 death.

When is the next Survivor buff?

It sure is a good thing that this is a video game and winning a match isn't the same thing as assault!

    /s

    Bad analogy, try another.

Treating other decently in a video game is not the same as giving them candy either.

Im sure you understand what I mean behind my metaphor.

It was a bad punch, try a candy?

  • Imaging this, there are 2 people, a good person and a bad person. You have 2 choice:

    • Give a candy to each of them.
    • Or punch to the face to each of them.

A candy will not make the bad person happy. But a punch would hurt the good one.

Whats your opinion on buffing a character so that said character can compete with other characters versus buffing a character so noobs feel confortable on said character despite good players dominating with that character?

That said us vs them us vs them: why dont survivors just stop going for escapes and play for fun? Whys it so important that they escape? Just give up and let the killer get you!!!!!! - thats what the "dont go for 4k"-crowd sounds like.

Survivors are content with 40% escape rate.

Killers are the one that not satisfied with 60% kill rate.

No survivor asking for 4 escapes match all the time. They want half a match that they can escape. It would the same as Killers would want half of survivors they can kill. Which, return to the quote: Killers are the one that not satisfied with 60% kill rate.

you know, it's funny that you think that playing killer is easy (this statement it's a hint that you aren't playing aganist decent survivors) since you think this then keep play the game, i personally won't since i'm not masochist... you are also deliberately IGNORING the points that i made, thinking that only kills matter is another problem with the mentality that the community has: i can do 0 hooks but kill everyone in the end with a single hook thanks to blood warden... this isn't a valid point since you are ignoring EVERYTHING else (gameplay wise)

I know when Im playing against survivors who's better than me, which certainly I should lose.

Im not going to get 4K at all cost, 4 slowdown, tunneling, Blight to play against squads of 4 Ayrun,Zubat who are completely out skill me then beat me to dust and I make complaining.

Are the survivors are actually just decent, or they're out skill you because your MMR isnt where you should not be.

  • Killers with 3K every match is viable too, not just Killers with 4K every match.

Mandy already answered about lullabies. Yes, they'll be shown as if they were a terror radius in regards to the visual indicator. Please read threads for potential answers to your questions first, as 9 times out of 10 someone will have already asked your question and someone will have already answered it.

I can't help but think that this might provide a huge advantage against Sadako, as it would basically eliminate any aspect of her stealth by giving you an extremely clear indicator that she's approaching while demanifested...

Pretty sure Chugger was asking to OP and didnt see Mandy answering.

Huntress & Trickster lullaby have clear distance based on how tense their music are. I understand it clearly.

And my question is toward to Freddy, because I feel his lullaby is different to others, no distance at all. Visual may make it easier to estimate the distance, which may be a nerf to Freddy.

And return to my question, would the visual TR an indirect nerf to Freddy?

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

This game also has bully SWFs, that try to make the game miserable for the killer. And if they are a streamer, then you can hear them make fun of the killer the entire match.

Are you ok with survivors that purposely try to make the game miserable for killers?

They complain about these behaviors from this Killer. Doesnt mean they agree the bully behaviors from Survivors.

You brought us v them yourself and think Pulsar is survivors' main trying to shame Killers.

The only alterations to it are the Colour Blind settings - yes those do affect the Visual Terror radius as well. There's no ability to move it around the body - it's in the heart place which makes sense.

Whats about Freddy lullaby? His lullaby is the hardest to know the distance.

Its like his lullaby goes from 0 to 100 in a few meters, which I dont know how close he is with his lullaby unlike Huntress.

If visual TR show exact distance to lullaby, I would consider this is a nerf to Freddy.

    1. Depends, if a survivor make mistake and down early, there is not enough time to complete all Gens before the camped one die.
    2. I dont know if the killer is camping, its normal for at least 1 survivor waste at least 40sec to run to hook to see camping and go back to Gen.
    3. I cant control my other 2 random teammates to ignore hook and keep doing Gen.

There is no such "gid gut" when I dont have any tool to tell random teammates not to go unhook and keep doing Gen.

The only counter is to play SWF, where there is no second wasted on Gen.

it’s always “it’s boring to survivors” but it’s never “it’s boring to killers”. Gen rushing for an example is boring to killers but people just say “pressure harder”

Killers' fun is not about the match length.

"games go too fast, survivors do Gens in 3min and escape". Because Im sure if a match end in 4K in 1min, its still fun for Killers.

ShadowBorne make survivors glowing like Freddy dream, make them impossible to hide in the dark/grass.

That 5% is to leave a very little time for survivor to react. A slight second of them moving slow.

If he has animation when activate his power, then its okay, 1sec would be enough

Oni can activate anytime because he has 3-4sec of powering up.

Haste is multiplicative (and so is Hindered).

    NOED speed (+4%) on a 115% killer is 119.6% (4.784m/s), not 119% (4.76m/s).

Did you just type +4% instead of x4%?

@Rizzo I may need you to confirm the numbers. Additive or Multiplicative.

  • @AGM said:

    It's 3, 5, 6, 7%. That's because it's multiplicative, as are the vast majority of (if not all) movement speed modifiers. 4.6m/s x 3% = 4.738m/s. At 5% it's 4.83m/s. At 6% it's 4.876m/s. And at 7% it's 4.922m/s.

Its not, its additive. The only "Multiplicative" case is Selfcare, which is not -67% healing speed, but x0.33

  • Its strange, the key locations to putting traps are no more, for example:

    • Grass at Small door with god pallet in Temple is no more
    • Grass at window in 5 lockers titles is no more
    • Grass at god window that next to basement at main building in Mother Dwelling is no more
    • Grass at pallets around main building in Mother Dwelling is no more

    ect

But grass overall is every where. You have to know the pathing between 2 titles to optimize.

I actually like grass being like this, not obvious at titles, but connection between them. Hard to setup, and impossible to know where traps are.

  • 5 totems = 5 healing

    1. Trapper is weak af and needs the help
    2. You wouldn't need to have all your traps at the beginning to do that, you could gather and place them all, or simply use the trapper sack, so his three gen potential really wouldn't be any greater than it is now
    1. Im a Trapper main and I do want alot of buff for him. Alot of buffs. But starts with all traps isnt one.
    2. Gather them takes alot of time, 3 Gens is impossible unless survivors leave 3 Gens zone by luck.
  • 1 survivor dead. Jake was in chase with his last hook. I and YunJin were on last Gen.

Gen was 95%, I leave Gen to go for Gate, Jake downed and being carried to hook.

Gen skillcheck right the moment I leave, Gen progression 85%. We could not complete the last Gen, I also die after, YunJin got the hatch.

1 extra kill because of a single skill check

Killer could easily get 3-4K if tunneling. So I dont complain about dying, but the skill check.
