  • Haddonfield, Midwich, and Ormond just need to be completely disabled until somethings done about them. Haddonfield negates 75% of the rosters power. Midwich is nearly impossible to apply gen pressure without breaking in 42 walls in advance or you have to walk a mile to get to that gen you hear. Last of all Ormond is just completely busted. Like if you die on Ormond you're pretty terrible. 5 jungle gyms can spawn next to each other, all with """"filler""""" pallets, that aren't little pussy pallets either. You can still get about 3 loops on most of them. You can literally loop the killer for 10 minutes with just even moderate skill on that map. I normally try to be a good sport about things, even when people are being asses, but if I ever get any of these maps I just straight up DC. Midwich is probably the least frustrating out of all of them, but that doesn't say a lot nor does it make it enjoyable.

  • Eventually you learn how to deal with them. A lot of groups who run this are trash squads that want to be their favorite youtuber. So it's not hard to capitalize on their mistakes, but you have to beat them 42 times. And if they are good players who run this you just have to accept that you lose. There's times in this game where both sides are just ######### for no reason other than rng.

  • I think legion is in an okay spot right now. They do need a few tweaks such as the stun and losing all of your power on a missed attack, etc. Nobody can juggle survivors like he can and whenever you get into doing that it's devastating. I would like a more interesting part of his power to be implemented, but overall I'm fine with him staying as he is.

  • PTB servers are super laggy and the depressing nerf is probably driving people away. I could only get a few survivor games but that was it.

  • If the over heat built up WAY slower then it'd be fine. Punish them for missing saws or spamming it constantly. Not for trying to play the killer.

  • @KingFrost said:

I think what they should do instead is this:

When survivors are rescued off the hook, they are affected by the FEAR status for 60 seconds.

Survivors affected by the FEAR status repair gens at 50% speed. They also get a 7% haste status effect.

This encourages killers not to tunnel (The survivor coming off the hook isn't as efficient working on generators as the survivor who did the unhooking, and is faster too), as well as doesn't reward survivors as much working on gens coming straight off the hook with DS. (If they work 60 seconds on a gen, it's more like they worked 30 seconds on a generator, thereby killers lose less time. So instead of completing 75% of a generator, they complete only 37.5% of a generator.

So what about if they're not being tunneled? Does it go away after they heal? Because really the gen slow doesn't fix anything and the perk is still abusable. And even if used in the intended way, they're punished for using the perk and are still invincible for a minute. Meaning they can't really do a lot in that time frame except for gens or maybe help a teammate.

Looping is not the only thing in this game, and the better killers know how to avoid it as much as possible. The game isnt called nascar simulator and when the game first came out is was considered an exploit

Well this isn't when the game first came out. Seeing how it's a core part of the game, I'd say it isn't an exploit. I have no clue who these better killers you refer to are since good killers know how to tackle loops. If somebody is wasting your time or at a really strong part of the map, then yes, good killers do avoid chasing them until they can afford to. Otherwise they're probably not better killers.

  • Object and Fire Up.

    Fire Up is op bro.

  • Oni had his flick removed and was completely neutered. I don't think Scott was the one to even suggest that change though.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/171331/scott-details-the-issues-people-have-with-boring-killers

Yeah but this is one of the times i think hes just wrong. His argument is essdntially "survivors want to be able to use the skills theyve learned" and by ghat he means looping.

Want to take a wild guess at what the most boring thing in the game is for killers? Running around in circles for 5 mi utes.

What behaviour is doing is creating killers that have different counterplays to their powers, some killers you can loop to ######### like wraith, some killers you have to counter a little more uniquely like Spirit. This keeps the game fresh and different. If every single killer was loopable the way wraith is this game would have died 2 years ago.

Scott's wrong on this, the people that find a killer boring its because they either dont understand the counter to thst killer and are getting waxed all the time, or they understand it really well and dont find it challanging. Either way, so tf what. Its better than every single killer having the same boring ass nascar counter

Looping is literally how you play the game though? Like the whole entertainment value comes from the player interaction. If looping is boring to you then why do you play this game? The whole point as killer is to counter these loops with your ability and pick off the survivors.

  • @Nebula said:

The number one complaint myself and many others have when playing against spirit is the lack of information that is given to you to make a proper play.

If a map-wide noise is made similar to Demo's teleport or Billy's new yell when he starts his chainsaw, survivors wouldn't get hit by Spirt's "mindgame" when she just stands still. Much more information would be given to survivors within and outside of her terror radius, and IMO would make facing her a lot more engaging.

That would be a buff. Because then you don't know if she's near you or not. That's why the new prayer beads does this.

  • It's usually just for brownie points. It's good PR too. A majority of companies don't care, ask them about the middle east and what they're doing for pride month there, you'll see just how much they really care. On one hand they get attacked for not celebrating it but on the other people will still get mad if they do embrace it. It's a lose-lose scenario and the best way to play it is to just go with what ever hurts less. Companies have no beliefs, they believe in money. Pride month has really become nothing more than a giant shill that people want to be out raged about. Whether they think that one person is being too much of this or another one isn't enough of this. It doesn't have any impact anymore. People don't care about it. All they think is "oh yeah it's gay month." as Walmart tells you how much they love LGBT now that it's time to love LGBT. I see it a lot like Black History Month. Why restrain it to a single month? If you're trying to bring change and inform people why do it only for 1 month? Present it in a digestable way and make change through action. Show everyone that we're just normal people who want to live our lives like everyone else.

  • Definitely Infectious. I love Corrupt but Infectious is sooo good. With STBFL and chaining shred downs you're literally unstoppable.

  • He's a worse Demogorgon with a hook gimmick. With Demo you can use it consistently around loops and use it in a versatile manner. PH is just "oooh I'm gonna do it I'm gonna do it ooooh". Just fake the pallet throw and it's an ez escape. It may not always work but really it's the only thing you can do against his zoning. Which while it's strong to be able to deny pallet drops it just leads to stale game play. You don't feel like "wow he's really good" whenever you're hit by it, it's more like "well ######### guess I die now". PH didn't do anything of actual skill in that scenario, he just pressed a button and you guessed wrong. The actual use of his power is trash. I'd much more like a few tweaks to his power than just have him be Man with Sword™.

  • @Maperson said:

He Is defenitly not the worst, you can disable DS and BT, you don't need to worry about it, if PH Is good he will get you tormented quick, and his ranged attack Is just a bonus. Not every killer should have map pressure, PH can end chases very fast.

But that's really not a big plus. It's situational as hell. Freddy can ignore BT too but that's not what makes him good. Countering a few perks but having no control over you hooks isn't really a pay off, since you can't defend it or pressure the unhook.

the problem was they were hiding behind structures meaning i couldn't tier up also their issue in that game was their altruism which i picked up on and i hit tier 3 and went crazy. That's michael's issue. He can't apply map pressure without some other DLC perk. Which i talked about in the og comment on how i have to buy DLCs just to stand a chance. It shouldn't be that way

Instead of stalking the Dwight who didn't even see you at the beginning you just smacked him. You chose to stay in tier 1. Tier 3 is one of the best snowball abilities in the game. You knew that Ash and Ace were together when Ash picked up Ace, so you should've gone over to there. That would be punishing altruism. You can't say that you went crazy with tier 3 if all you did was stand in front of a hook with it. You really just wasted it. DLC perks help a ton, there's no doubt about that. I agree it shouldn't be this way, but, it's also not impossible to do. You can use sloppy butcher and slug with that while spreading as much damage as you can. They either spend 30 seconds healing, or half their chase time. If you're good in chase too then that's basically a death sentence.

  • The problem with the one second is that it's on demand, so survivors get a bunch of distance for free. Plus since it's one second there would be no time to the speed to pick up so they'd just blast away when you're about to hit them. Also reviewing your game play it shows you really don't know what you're doing. Those guys were garbage and basically gave themselves to you so good on that I suppose. But you knew Ace was picked up and decided to use the rest of your tier 3 to camp Claudette. Also you would've gained far more pressure than if you didn't just tunnel the death hook Ace. Along with the whole pressure thing you stayed in tier 1 for 5 minutes. How are you going to get any downs like that? I know you probably don't have very many levels yet since you're rank 14, but if you can you need to improve your build. Survivors aren't op. You just don't know what you're doing and that's okay. Just don't end up as one of those killers who have the "ooga booga survivor bad killer good" mentality. It's a detriment to everybody.

listen i do have 2000+hs and ive been playing both sides mostly killer because i find it way more fun and also harder and i like the challenge, to me survivor always was easy mode and not very skillfull, however, i do understand why SWF are so strong and game breaking, the efficieny they have is stupid, they make good reads after good reads all the time not even a second is wasted (good 4 man) because they can talk eachother and not waste time, important seconds that are actually THE BIG THING when you are at higher ranks not even talking about the several extra perks you get by default and of course the weaker OoO without any downside since your teammates can tell you where the killer is all the time. But putting that aside i played by myself both sides and hundreds of hours as survivor alone and i just cant anymore its been a while since i stopped playing alone, and why? dont get me wrong i may do some challeges solo since some of them are so selfish that id rather not doing them with my friends because some of them are so scummy but still, i dont do it with the intention of yeah im gonna try to play good and escape, no, im gonna play to get that challenge and thats it because of how frustrating it is to play solo survivor.

now, i stopped because of matchmaking and stupid awful decisions my mates make all the time, because you get mad when you perform a 2 min or 3 min chase and no ones does anything, i get mad when people connstantly keeps making stupid decisions over and over again and dont get me wrong i make mistakes but there is a limit, and rank 1 survivors shouldnt make those dumb decisions over and over again even if ranks are not the best way to see how skilled a survivor is but i mean, it should mean something.

i know SWF breaks the game, because its truth no one is denying that is and can be unfair going against a full experience squad even if u are really good at the game and you have thousands of hours in the game there are gonna be teams when you felt there wasnt anything you could have done to win and thats is kind of stupid and to that point SWF can break the game and they dont really need to be that extremely good just good coordination can be the key, just that, and no side killer or survivor should have that amount of power, wich is the reason why teh game is unbalanced. but is what it is, sadly matchmaking is bad, sadly even if survivors have lots of hours they are not efficient, they make bad plays all the time, not good reads, lots of stuff that could have been done in SWF is impossible in solos, and is way more unatractive overall. i do get what killers say because i play both sides, but at the same time, a good killer will ROFLSTOMP a group of solos without much effort because of lack of the thing that also breaks the game, coordination that SWF do have, and dont get me wrong i do stomp a 4 group of solos 19 out 20 times the other one someone escapéd by hatch, i do know what solos can and can not do after so many hours playing this game, you can even feel it, is way more opressive, way more intense and also irritating at times, a whole difference experience.

so, is possible to balance the game? i dont think so, the game is what it is, if u play solo you get demolished and is unfun unless some kind of miracle happens wich is 1 of 20 matches being all 4 good individuals wich is very rare and still they are gonna struggle to win against a good killer.

so solutions? i dont know i dont think they are turning mics off so there is no real solution apart from big nerfs to SWF. there u go. sorry for the long post and not perfect english but i did the best i could.

So survivors should be punished for playing well and bad ones rewarded? I get that you're saying the whole voice comm try-hard swf is game breaking but to me it seemed a lot like you were criticizing your swf for playing well. Yeah efficient teams are genuinely uncounterable, but you usually never play against them. In all the time I've played killer I've only gotten teams like this maybe 4 or 5 times. Over the span of 2 years. I don't think things should really be balanced around this, considering the fact that these teams are so rare. But it does highlight core problems with the game. If survivors did genuinely apply themselves to nothing but the objective it can end in about 4 minutes.

  • SWF really aren't that hard to beat when you actually learn to play killer well. Don't fall into the whole "survivor bad killer good" mentality. It's dumb and just leads to more frustration. Just practice and try to be creative with your power and what you do at loops. Put yourself in their mind and try to envision what they see right now. Then play off of that. If you guessed wrong then you know not to do that next time. The t-bagging and taunting are just part of any game really. DBD players try to make it out to be some big scary monster but every game has it, especially pvp games. Don't let it get to you. In all honesty I get taunted more when I'm winning, so if it scares you that much then you're screwed. Remember that it's just a game and try to enjoy yourself.

  • I would put Clown and Deathslinger a lot further down to be honest. Clown is just prethrow the pallet, so you don't get a lot of chase interaction and Deathslinger is impossible to dodge. You can try to make a good read on him but since every Deathslinger just quick-scopes it doesn't matter.

That was a real answer though.

Sorry, looking for an actual answer instead of a bad survivor who can't even loop and has to rely on second chance perks and getting carried by the time, while mostly using Adrenaline and complaining about NOED.

They really aren't wrong though. Most killers genuinely lose because they make mistakes and don't apply pressure. Of course you'll just dismiss me as a survivor main who can't do anything without loops though.

Actually, I really like this idea for a killer perk.

The killer kicks up to 1/2/3 generators in a match, and if the survivors complete it within 300 seconds after being kicked it explodes at 99% and regress to 50%.

Don't like it? Just don't gen rush -- easy.

Gen-rushing is usually a side effect of the killer not applying any pressure. This perk is a terrible idea. You basically condemn the survivors to death for doing basically nothing. 5 whole minutes? You literally can't lose in that time frame. Plus it's BHVR they'd never make a new good perk.

  • The only thing the auras were really good for is killing object players. Otherwise it was just like a really long mori. Get unhooked, get tormented, go to cage, get tormented again, and death.

  • I think Siren Head could be a good holder for a killer that can genuinely feed survivors false information, but I am also kind of weary about adding in creepypasta characters. It's not that they're not scary but it's just really surreal in not a good way. I can't describe it well. The same for thing for FNAF.

  • Sprint Burst on command is a terrible idea. Imagine you're in a chase and they just zoom away before you hit them. From this post it seems you play pretty bad. Not to mock you about it, but "why let them off the hook anyways" or getting hit by ds when someone is healing along with "anti-gen rush perks don't stop gen-rushers". If there's 2 people healing you can down one and if you know you can get the other person or suspect the injured one still has ds, go attack the healer. Either just smack them and let them go or full out kill them. In both of those situations you don't really lose much, as you gain a slug and an injured person. If the injured person doesn't heal you can pick them off later or you can just down them before hand. I agree there needs to be a base way to legitimately stop gens more than a kick to just start regression, as many survivors will just tap a gen. I think an 8% regression penalty on the kick would be a simple enough change, along with an early game rework, which is coming sometime later. We could nerf pop to still be 25% combined with the new gen kick. I think adding a small progress decay on doors and gens that aren't being worked on would be good too. Not so much that it's like built in ruin, but enough to make survivors consider leaving it and putting more pressure on them to make a decision.

  • Spirit takes absolutely no skill. This is coming from a killer main, since I know how people are on this forums if you don't establish that before hand. All you need is basic killer knowledge. Her power doesn't have any set skill to it other than learning how to track, which is something ALL killers need to do. Not a Spirit specific thing. Her power is just a free down, and if you lose as Spirit it's because you played wrong. She has a mobility and chase tool all in one. And in chase survivors can't even play against you correctly because there is no way to do it. Hoping a killer misses or makes a mistake is not counter-play. Counter-play is reacting to their next move and playing around their power. You don't get to do any of that with Spirit. Spirit is like training wheels. You can't get hurt by using them, but you'll have to grow out of it eventually.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

NOED is arguably the most powerful second chance perk in the game. So I hope no one trash talking DS, BT, UB, etc runs NOED ever. That would be hypocritical.

It's unactive for the whole trial and can be disabled easily. How is that stronger than all of those combined?

  • @Seiko300 said:

I'm not gonna read that lore entry, I'm leaving everything until I finish all the story lines and then I'm just gonna sit and listen to them all at once for like 20 minutes. Just some context so that you know I'm not using that for reference or information

However, I remember from a certain dev stream or something that Dave Richard (creative director) said some or certain survivors wake up in every trial as if it were their first, having no memory. He never gave any specific examples so I think this was just a general statement that the realm of the entity affects different people differently. I think the group of survivors that we play as specifically aren't affected in this way, because teachables are a thing, as some other people have pointed out.

So does that mean that Demo can teach other killers how to blow up gens in proximity?

  • Playing both sides gives you a good perspective of the game and what to do in certain situations. Although I kind of hate saying "I think this and I play both sides!". It just feels like a dick measuring competition like "my opinion is more valid than yours :)))".

  • @Raptorrotas said:

    1. Get the Top Tier Killers nerfed
    2. Look for the next strongest Killer
    3. Repeat

Spirit cant see survivors, survivors cant see her... "omg she's so advantageous over survivors"

But there's way more to killer than just sight. There's prediction and sound. Both of which the spirit has over the survivor. The only thing you can hear is her footsteps, and even then she's right next to you. The survivor can try to predict the spirit, but there's no tell on what they're doing, so as far as the survivor knows she could just be standing still. There is no "mInDgAmEs" in one side just literally not being able to make a decision. It's just a one sided guessing game.

  • What if the reference to "the pioneers" in plunderers implies there were even more survivors before our cast? There could be a whole civilization somewhere inside the entities realm for all we know.

  • He was probably shot in the leg or something. It'd make since because of the whole bounty hunter thing.

  • With how powerful the entity is anybody who tried to fight it would just be instantly killed. You can't even injure it, it's a cosmic entity.

  • He's finger lickin' good.

  • Map fixes have helped a lot. There's still problems like early game pressure but if you know what you're doing you can usually get it fast. I win a majority of my killer matches so I'd say it's not so bad.

Can we please finally stop using True as a reverence for "good killers"? Especially when its about Hillbilly. I dont want to be rude and no offense to anybody but he is not a fantastic killer and especially not a good hillbilly. If he looses its very likely because he was just playing bad, at least what i have seen from him. Sorry but that has to be said if we bring "pro dbd players" to back up arguments. Here is a prime example, just watch that video and you understand what i mean.

    https://youtu.be/ZLhWgnrZPYk?t=231

True is like the rank 13 killer go to though. If he did it to them that means it's right.

  • Don't let them be able to open the exit gates ez game.

  • Pyramid Head needs some real tweaks in general to be honest. Easily countered ability with little range and neutered tunnel ability.

  • You know that this will only killer the player base right? A lot of killer usually struggle against swf because they're bad.

  • They will. The devs don't take feedback seriously and just do what they want. Maybe they'll do something else to distract us later but for right now this is what we get.

Your point is the same as every other half assed player that whines because they actually got challenged and there BS brain dead tactics didn't work against a killer that wasn't a potato. Now, like I said, quit your belly aching, WATCH SOME YOUTUBE videos on how to counter spirit, and wa-la. Tru3 was embarrassing rank 1 spirits before the spirit and ruin nerfs when she WAS actually hard ... Get good dude. I'm done. Comment if you want, but I got nothing more to say dude. ✌

Um the fact that you can walk right through her now if your smart and throw her completely off, or stand still when she phases? If she's not running stridor, she's not gonna hear you. If she's running stridor, which most do, iron will is your friend. Sounds for killer are already bugged as it is. It's a guessing game on which killer you could face. Most vets run iron will anyway to counter a lot of killers, but... What do I know. I've seen plenty of videos of people out playing good spirits, and that was before the collision and prayer bead nerf. There are some good players with her, but people act like everyone is playing as her, and are god killers that 4k everytime. Most the ones I verse suck. I call Horse 💩💩💩

So use the meta? I thought you were complaining about that before? You shouldn't need to run a perk just to counter a killer. "If you're smart" is completely redundant because you cannot make a smart choice since you have no information. Standing still is also a horrible strategy since she either has already seen you, or you've left something for her to follow i.e footsteps, grass and other environmental ques. Bugs shouldn't be taken into account as a nerf since they're not intended. The sound bugs nerfed ALL killers, not just Spirit. Stridor also counters Iron Will, so that's why Spirit players run it. Spirit and Freddy are all I see because they're extremely easy for super good results. If anything I just want Freddy to get his animation fixed so that you can accurately judge how far away he is. I also think a band-aid fix for Spirit right now would be to play the phasing sound in chase, that way you can try to do something. The whole guessing game thing with what killer you're going to face isn't that important either, especially since most of them are getting custom terror radius anyways. If you don't hear a terror radius for a while, then its a stealth killer. The process isn't that hard to work out on it's own. I also see videos of people getting a 5 gen 4k on Ormond but is that consistent? I've done it a few times but does that mean I will always do it? No. There is no consistent way to counter Spirit. Which means you're guaranteed to die most of the time. It's like the old Legion where once you got into a chase with them it's more of a cut-scene than it is anything.

You forgot collision, which was a huge buff for survivors, and a huge nerf to spirit. Not saying it wasn't somewhat justified, but they didn't need to nerf her as hard as they did. Your gonna believe what you want, but me, and others are telling you, you CAN counter spirit if you know what your doing. I'll just leave it at that.

No, there is no 'know what you're doing" is the entire point. You can't know what to do because there is no way to tell what she's doing what so ever. She was barely nerfed in any significant way. The window vault thing was just really dumb and inconsistent, prayer beads made her 12x worse than she already was and obviously the collision thing wasn't intended.

  • I'll only be happy if this is his terror radius.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urhXYj_Aknc

  • I think Slenderman or another original killer would be nice. Creepypasta is something that I sort of grew up with and I think it has some place in the game, especially if Springtrap happens. I also like their original killers as it's way more refreshing than "OMG ITS (horror franchise) GUYS OMG OMG". I don't mind licensed killers but back to back ones kind of suck.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
