What I expect is BHVR having to put a giant disclaimer on each piece of FNaF related content, saying "THIS IS NOT CANON" to avoid being bombarded with lore questions.
Honestly with how fnaf lore is in general there could be a way the universes could actually connect and be canon-

I have to agree that with a license as big as FNAF if they do anything less than at least 1 killer 1 survivor and a map than there will be a big stink about it, and will really be wasted potential.
What if instead of making one pizzeria map they make a new realm with different locations from the games

@BlackRabies said:
For killer or has to be SpringTrap since he is the killer of the series. Prob the FNAF3 version since or could be somewhat a new design for him since his appearance changes with every game/movie. Weapon either a large kitchen knife, a fire axe or claws. Power maybe something to do with phantom animatronics.
A pizzeria map would have to be a hybrid in/outdoor map like Xeno, unknown or DnD map since the pizza place would be far too small to be it's own map. Could feature the 4 classic animatronics as props somewhere.
Survivor either an adult version of the 2 kids from security breach, the security girl Veronica since only 3 to ever properly been seen with a proper model or Aftons undead son w/e name is having such a big role in the series.
Lot of cosmetics potential. Hoping for a scrapped/twisted Endo skin for Dredge.
FNAF chapter has the potential to be the number 1 biggest thing for DBD so they really better not screw it up.
I really hope they don't mess this up, I imagine Scott is helping direct everything because he likes making sure everything is perfect, that's why the movie was in the works since 2016 because he needed it to be exactly how he wanted it

At the very least, I expect a killer, a survivor, and a map. Getting the license to FNAF is such a big deal. So many players will be drawn to the game through brand association and DBD will have Resident Evil 2.0. That is my predictions, very excited to see what happens. I refuse to believe BHVR would make us wait months just for Legion to get the 4 FNAF characters as a costume similar to the Silent Hill rabbits.
Idk about a survivor just based on the fact that almost no security guards or anything have designs and I don't imagine they'd get a design in a not fnaf game but a killer and map are def happening

I hope whatever map they add is decent for both sides, I imagine it's gonna be like Badham with a Pizzeria as the main building with a parking lot and other structures around

My guess is he took the backseat for more controversial killers like skully/billy etc which I'd rather that than Freddy, also it makes more sense as they can actually make money off said characters…
who is gonna buy freddy these days bar die hard fans at this point you know?
Freddy is one of the most iconic slashers so a lot of people, the problem is he isn't worth buying due to his boring power and situational perks. So the only reason they don't make money from him is because they haven't made him worth buying. Like would you buy a killer if they're power didn't do anything if the survivor wasn't in a certain state?

The one issue with Connection Terminated is it is a passive effect that hinders the killer. The survivor doesn't need to interact with the killer at all to trigger it, it just happens. This reads more like a killer perk, and is not how survivor perks are usually designed because the survivors can take 16 perks vs. the Killers 4.
Blinding the killer is interesting though, and I'd be tempted to make this a trap perk, except Blast Mine already achieves the goal of countering Nowhere to Hide.
Have we considered making perhaps the concept of a hook trap? Maybe use this to counter BBQ and Chilli on the likes of fast killers like Nurse, Blight, Billy, Oni?
Connection Terminated
After repairing generators for a total of 40%, Connection Terminated activates:
- Press the Active Ability button near a hook to install a trap. The trap remains active 100/110/120 seconds.
- After the killer hooks a survivor on the trapped hook, the hook explodes and stuns/blinds the killer for 3 seconds, and inflicts the blindness status effect for 25 seconds.
The survivor still gets hooked, but the killer now doesn't have their aura perks to let them race off and murder.
Could be combined with Reassurance and Parental Guidance to immediately freeze the hook timer while the killer is stunned and use the time to run away with no scratch marks.
It would also have potential for taking hits on the way to hooks, if you think they may wiggle off but aren't sure you can take a hit, trap the hook, but then still run and make distance if the killer still manage to make the hook without having to make a risky sabo play.
Unfortunately this is kinda like all 3 of the perks rolled into one, so new ideas for the other 2 would be needed as well xD
Nice work on the lore BTW!
Or I could just change it to whenever the perk holder completes the gen it activates and not just whenever a gen is completed
Edit: That's what I did

Ok, so, I really like Connection Terminated and Tamper. Experienced Engineer seems a bit odd though.
The original idea is in the comment above, I ended up just changing it to be blastmine but different due to a lack of ideas and the original idea seeming problematic

I just wanted to make some kinda gen perk that wasn't for rushing and my original idea seemed too problematic (the original is in the comment above) and I couldn't think of anything else so I pretty much just made it blastmine but different. I'm still thinking and if I think of something I like and think makes sense I might change it

Over a year now since they first announced he was 'on the list for changes'.
At this point I won't be surprised if we don't get anything for another year. Imagine if we wait all this time and it's another Twins situation…
I mean he was a high tier killer when he was first reworked then just nerfed down (Far too much) with the Twins they were just a slug machine with Freddy the worst I can imagine is him being high tier again and nerfed again. But lets hope BHVR knows what they're doing this time.

@NoirGhost said:
I do like the idea behind perk 1 and 3, but isnt 2 just Blast Mine but with incapacitated added to it
Eh yeah, my original idea way to make it so the killer would get they're foot stuck and they'd have to hit a bunch of merciless storm skillchecks to get free but I thought that could cause the killer to lose too much time if they kept missing
-
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
- Ok perk
- can be broken depending on how the incapacitated status will work on the killer. 12s without being able to do anything is a lot of wasted time
- The perk has a very strong effect and seems to be very easy to activate and can be used several times. Of course the killer has to hook on a tempered hook but I imagine 4 survivors using it a little too strong.
I imagine incapacitated working like no breaking pallets or walls and no damaging generators
Also for the third one it's not like sabo where the killer literally cannot hook the killer can still hook it's pretty much just giving someone else deliverance + breakdown. Also yeah I can kinda see it being abused but that's just due to my lack of balance knowledge and could easily be changed by someone who actually knows how to balance properly.

@Caiman said:
Final Hour is an interesting but scary idea, it depends a lot on the map and the survivors' familiarity with it. I struggle to find totems on Dead Dawg and Yamaoka Estate, for example, so I'd be helpless against that perk on those maps. Especially if any survivors are already dead at that point. Maybe if it had a timer attached so that after, say, 2 minutes it auto-disables? Otherwise it could risk stalling the game unreasonably long.
Yeah but keep in mind two totems spawn and only one has to be found to get rid of it, also Undying can't work with it so once it's gone it's gone. Also most hex's depend a lot on the map and map knowledge

Clown, Spirit, and Blight seem like obvious choices. Dredge would need some tweaks (probably removing Nightfall), but it would be cool to have Dredge in 2v8 so he could locker-teleport over to his partner.
I doubt they'd remove Nightfall but making it last less time would probably happen. The undetectable and darkness could work so well with other killers.
-
@Hex_Ignored said:
Legion would need major tweaks otherwise he would easily be able to get an insta down every time he activates frenzy since chaining 4 hits would be laughably easy in 2v8
Yeah probably make him have to get 7-8 hits maybe, but make him faster because of the bigger maps
-
I'd say The Nightmare On Elm Street chapter is the most disappointing full chapter, the killer has a boring power, there's no cosmetics for anything in the chapter not even charms except for one outfit you can get for Quentin, the realm is nothing special either. I'd say the Alien chapter is second or third though.

He doesn't deserve it for 1 simple reason
He holds back because he is having fun he doesn't need the entity to do it for him he goes out of his way to play with his food before finishing the job so canonically in dbd he does the same since its both what he wants and what the entity wants
Him messing with victims doesn't make him any less powerful, that's why he's already been limited to puddles and a tp. Also in his lore it straight up says his powers were tempered so it's not him holding back and more likely being nerfed

I know what I'm about to ask is probably going to get some strong reactions but on the topic of the gen bug where if one survivor dies and leaves the game the next gen completed counts as 2 gens, would it be crazy if that stayed in the game in some version as an anti-tunnel mechanic?
It hasn't cost me any games as killer personally and as survivor it really only makes a difference in games where one person gets hard tunneled out early on. If they made it where it only did it after one person died it could be a genuinely good mechanic to dissuade tunneling. I thought killer was going to be unplayable with this bug around but it really isn't if you ping pong between two survivors and spread pressure by the time a survivor dies it doesn't really matter if you take a gen away or put another way any game where it matters you were probably going to lose anyway. Because from my experience it only effects killers trying to hard tunnel one person out while running a bunch of gen blocking (deadlock/grim embrace/DMS) perks which isn't any fun to go against anyway.
Ok but what happens if a killer doesn't tunnel? Then they just get punished for killing survivors and therefore be punished for playing the game normally, not good.

The October rumours were fake last I heard. It was a fan made poster.
Well obviously the poster was fake but that doesn't mean the rumors are fake. I really hope they aren't fake because it's the only thing giving me at least a little hope that Freddy will get some kinda cosmetics.
-
@TheArbiter said:
I wouldn't count on it, from my understanding the Freddy license holders are the most strict and is why Freddy has 0 cosmetics
Yeah the license holders are very strict with it, I mean they didn't even let them use the actors likeness for Freddy and Quentin only got a more accurate face because the actor himself stepped in and got in contact with BHVR to get it updated. But if a show does happen a skin for Freddy might happen to help promote it, but I still don't see a big chance of that happening.
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
Don't they only have the license to the 2010 remake movie? He only had one look in that. That's what we have.
As I said I hope if a new show does happen the license holders would be willing to give more, like the look Freddy would have in the show for example. Also Freddy had two looks in the 2010 movie, we saw his human form too and he even used that look in the dreams in a alternate ending.

I'm worried they'll just do basic buffs and probably add dream pallets to basekit, which would be really boring
Well nowadays it seems BHVR listens to the community a lot more and hopefully will do a proper rework like most people want
also just based on how BHVR tried to rework Twins and has reworked Knight recently it seems to me it'd most likely be a rework
-
@Laluzi said:
I'm hoping he gets a proper rework. His kit is largely a lot of underwhelming things other killers do better and we've had a lot of teleport killers since he got his first rework, so that doesn't give him the identity it once did. I'd like more hazards in the dream world and a harder time getting out of it.
To start, I think it'd be amazing if he could use pallets and snares at the same time. I like the original idea of him being completely invisible to awake survivors and actively putting them to sleep, instead of sleep happening passively and being basically a non-threat, but I'm not sure how to implement this competitively and while dodging the miseries of the past - survivors always having enough time to get somewhere safe/being able to escape sleep mid-chase, Freddy's mechanics making every game a slog. The Dream World having horrible slowdown and permanent aura read should never come back, but then he'd need something else to make manually putting survivors to sleep actually valuable. (Though, maybe he could have sleep traps for more macro control? Or it could additionally be applied if he teleports to a gen a survivor is next to, similar to Sadako giving condemned?)
I wish the Dream World had things like Chucky's footsteps and fake sounds that made it scarier and more unpredictable to be in. Cosmetic changes to universal assets like blood dripping out of lockers and limbs hanging out of the mouth of chests would be sweet too.
My dream (heh) change would be voicelines, though. I'd play even current Freddy if he had his personality.
They also said they were possibly gonna give older survivors voicelines too but that wouldn't happen for awhile.
But who knows, if that happens maybe they'll do the same for killers.

That is true, he has one of the best hit animations. Same with his wall break. They both don't need updating.
Everything else though, especially his walking and lobby animations, should be updated.
His walking animation is perfect just look

@BlightedDolphin said:
Freddy needs a complete graphical and animation overhaul. He feels like he was modded into the game rather than being an actual character.

@Smoe said:
Complete and utterly disagree.
Voicelines adds depth to characters, makes Survivors feel more distinct from each other and quite frankly, should be given to way more of them.
Also Alan Wake absolutely needed voicelines as it gives him his flavor and personality from his own games and imo, is the best part about his Survivor in DBD.
I agree voice lines do add more and I do like them but there's only so many times a guy can hear "I came" or Vecna's multiple spell voice lines before it gets old, personally I would like a option to disable them.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/419093/changes-you-think-were-unnecessary
The Freddy rework was the best thing that ever happened to him. People have amnesia on this, but we were all blown away by Freddy's teleporting, his snares, and even his fake pallets. And actually getting to hit survivors before putting them to sleep, instead of manually doing it and giving them a head start for free. Only after his nerf, which apparently he needed because he was S tier as an M1 killer because matches lasted forever (malarkey), did he truly start to suck. If we undid the nerf in full, right now, could you honestly tell me he'd be higher than C tier? Bringing original Freddy back would land him in the exact same spot he is now: dead last.
And I'm just gonna say that Realm Beyond was necessary, and needs to be finished with the swamp realm. People shouldn't be able to pick dark outfits with Claudette, Ace, or Adam and be invisible because of the map's textures and lighting. There's also lots of bad designed tiles, especially in the main buildings, left in those maps.
About Freddy, I don't care about what tier they are or power level. I care about fun, old Freddy was fun and unique and now he's the most boring killer in the game and like I said his old power could have easily worked if Bhvr took the time to addon to it and just give him stuff to use on sleeping survivors. And I'm not the only one who thinks he's boring he's the second least played killer in the game. Again that's just my personal opinion

Fair I guess, but he still does not have much of a skill expression. And if the concept itself, without taking numbers into account is already problematic then it is just not a good idea :/
Well I'd personally take anything over his current power. Placing puddles that only do anything under certain conditions and having the worst teleport in the game, his current power is already problematic

I've had the idea to make Freddy invisible to survivors who are not asleep, I think that could be interesting. I think it would be good if we removed the ability for survivors to use teammates to get awaken. Only using the alarm clocks. Remove passive falling asleep, adding back the old Freddy ability to manually get survivors to fall asleep. I think stuff like that would make a big difference just that, to make it feel more interactive for both sides.
More stuff need to be added tho to my idea. I like the concept of old Freddy. I'm not sure if I enjoy your version, that pretty much all types of interactions can be delusions, eventually that kind of gameplay would get pretty old imo.
Everyone wants the old Freddy back including me I just wanted to try and make a rework that wasn't just old Freddy but different

Except because Pinhead is below Leviathan, he's also going to be below The Entity, also Pinhead and every other cenobite have their glaring weakness of being bound to the lament configuration and cannot return to the realm if it's reset unless purposefully summoned again with it.
Also his power level doesn't reach Vecna levels of ultra powerful, Castlevania Dracula however would be closer to that of an ultra powerful killer who would need the mark.
Man this lore stuff is confusing, everything I find online about this mark is different, some people say it's just meant to nerf killers that would be too strong to be fair in the trials but not strong enough to escape or stand a chance against the entity like Sadako for example while others say it's just to nerf the killers actually capable of escaping
-
@Smoe said:
No because the mark is meant for ultra powerful killers only and neither Freddy nor Sadako need one, as not only do they not come close to fitting that that description, but they also don't even come remotely close to Vecna's power level.
Ok what about Pinhead then? For one he's only in the realm in the first place because someone opened his box and apparently Pinhead can move objects with his mind, and bend reality to his will, Pinhead is described as an extremely powerful being.

The killers the entity captures have their abilities adjusted (weakened or strengthened) when put into trials. However, Freddy being weakened for the entertainment of the entity is different from Vecna being a threat who could break out of the realm at any given time. Especially since Vecna's motivation to willingly come to the realm is to gain control over the entity's power.
Freddy doesn't need a mark, because Freddy is no threat to the entity.
Eh well I'd still love to see the mark on Freddy regardless, even if it probably won't happen

Gameplay is not a representation of lore power.
Even in his lore it said his powers were tempered in some ways and focused in others
-
@Crowman said:
Vecna is a Demigod status in D&D and his lore in DBD is him defying the Entity trying to grab him until he consents to join. Hence why the Mark of Negation, because without it Vecna could just leave the entity's realm whenever he felt like it.
Freddy and Sadako while powerful don't have any indication they need the mark to keep them in line.
Without being nerfed Freddy could literally do anything in his dream world I would consider him being limited to placing puddles a big nerf (Also I just want Freddy to have something new even a little mark :( )

Voicelines also have to do with the license holders. Just remember what Pinhead used to do once you opened his box.
Not saying they don't I'm saying if the licenses happened nowadays Bhvr might have at least tried to get voicelines, back when they did get added Bhvr didn't want voicelines in the game period
