Still annoying having limited time cosmetics. Especially with the whole "we dont want to have limited/exclusive cosmetics" then do this. So that makes it a total of THREE times they went back on what they said.
-
So you cant tell that a myers is moving 106% after t2 and cant get into a locker before the mori..
-
Shouldnt need to be buffed because they already said they're looking into the volume of survivors.

I forgot did the doctor skin even come back from 2021's halloween rift?

"top 5% MMR" =/= "5% of players are top MMR" tho.
The top 5% MMR could very easily be 2500-3000. Or indeed 1600-3000. No one knows. That's kinda the fun thing with statistics BHVR releases; they are pretty useless outside of the one insular point BHVR wants to illustrate.
Safe to say its probably somewhere around 100k current players total if steam alone averages 30-35k per day (which steam is not the most dbd prevalent platform) with peaks of 45k. So the "top 5%" would probably be more around 7-8k players all though that's spread around regions.
-
I see no reason now that they added an icon to show the killer has a bad connection to the server.
-
Yeah but does it ONLY matchmake people that are over the soft cap? From my knowledge it should matchmake people with AROUND 1600 so getting those lobbies isn't exactly hard. Either way mmr in a largely perk and RNG decided game just really doesn't make a good skill ceiling.
-
Tbh i thought you were talking about midwich and how an entire hall way can spawn without hooks. Never quite understood why classrooms dont have hook spawns.
-
Tbh idk bhvr coding towards entity block anymore but I thought entity blocked gens just paused any passive regression like from ruin or cob not stuff like surge or eruption.
-
Me thinking im gonna try and have a fun time as clown when i hear the funny crows in the distance.
-
Really no reason to allow you to self unhook at the end of the game. If anything it'll be more inclined to make killers bleed you out since you clearly wanted to be in the game longer.
-
"Pause the timer if the killer stays near hook" so weaponize an anti camp measure got it. Best way to try and deter it is to incentivize going for more chases by either smaller maps, base kit bbq or just something to compete with maps like ormond, goj, crotus prenn.
-
I just gotta say... ######### is this whole post. "It's unsportsmanlike because they play a killer they like and they have fun with". Last I checked I didn't see any survivor try less and not stick near the strongest stuff to make sure I have fun so why should I? Either way its a player vs player game, you arent gonna have fun when you're on the losing end because both goals are to win and even irl in some sports teams dont have fun because of different factors even if they won.
-
Because soft capped mmr is a thing. Honestly at this point bring back rank based matchmaking because at least it was a little more consistent.
-
When they refer to "some" its usually pretty weighted towards nurse. Like who else can really make use of it? Blight? Pyramid Head?
-
If we're talking about based powers...
Blight
Plague
Huntress
Demo
Old Billy

What's the big problem with finding perks? They are alphabetically sorted? If you can type in the name, you should be able to find it easily.
Its just a nice thing to have.

Maybe you are not up to high MMR
The mmr system is not good at all. Simply because its soft capped and "high mmr" actually isnt that high because your starting mmr is higher than half of the soft cap.

With this, Nurse is no longer S-Tier. She will become SS-Tier 🤣
Cant wait to face double as much nurses than now, because with this you are allowed to make much more mistakes and still get the hits every chase 🤣🤣
She literally teleports back to her starting position so thats a lot of distance between you and her. Not to mention she literally lost all her range/recharge with nerfed fatigue addons. It will only really shine on the edges of maps where you cant hold W as well when she teleports back to her OG position.
Oh yeah forgot to mention she uses special attacks on blink attacks now so more like more equal with blight.
-
I think people are overreacting about it. Holding w against nurse can be viable given that the fatigue addons got nerfed and range/recharge no longer exists. So if you just hold W against nurse you would encounter this addons effects rarely. Its an addon you have to play around which some people really don't like doing.
-
Still gonna be extremely strong because its nurse where you just cant use loops normally.
-
Well gl because trying not to tunnel as nemi is just not win material unless you constantly get babies.
-
Sure as soon as exhaustion or survivor gen perks are gutted.

That's gatekeeping and it shouldn't be taken seriously in the first place because this is not a competitive game
It's supposed to be played to have fun
None of that is really gatekeeping as I asked a quesiton and not saying "you shouldnt be playing" all though that could also end up as a suggestion. Also the whole "its supposed to be played to have fun" when playing a multiplayer game really isnt valid because what happens when you dc off your own volition? You ruin the game for the rest of the people that still wanted to try.

You don't want to punish selfish people
You want to punish people with bad internet, crashing PC, having to be AFK due to an emergency, etc
Why are you actively playing a game when you know you have an unstable connection or pc... you're just ruining it for yourself with either lag or hitches and no one likes either of those. The only valid one seems to be an emergency which you should still get punished for because even though it wasn't your fault its what you agreed to when you bought the game and those are hard stuck rules not like talking to your boss and they understand.
-
I'll lose 3 gens over exhaustion being removed any day of the week.

I did read the post. The issue is, you didn't really type anything. You're upset that people leave the game without actually leaving, and honestly, that sucks for you. If someone doesn't want to play out that game then they're not going to do it. The community has beat this topic to death and dragged its rotting corpse around.
The problem is people ruining the experiences for others because they think they should be allowed to shop for games.

Wait, are DCs without a timer now? Why?
Idk probably some problem they can't kill switch that affects someone's game horribly, so the penalties are turned off. My only guess is the situation over in Europe where the servers are very shotty but makes me question... why not just disable the DC penalties over there, or did they not think that far to have a system to disable penalties in a specific region.
-
Surely I'll be able to play a game and not get a dc because someones DH didnt work.

Yup, minus the poor game design/balancing, DBD is just like Dark Souls.
Cant tell if this is a joke or not or a "gotcha" statement but I made the comparison of knowing how something can and will play out but still complaining about it in the end which yes people did complain about elden ring being too hard when it was NOTORIOUSLY KNOWN that a souls game would never be easy.
-
I always hate how some people start out a discussion like "i get on just to try and have fun" in the context of a multiplayer game. One at that that has a more competitive side to it as in people like to win.
Like sure you bought the multiplayer game and are entitled to play it but are not entitled to a fun time. If the gamers are sweaty then try a different time preferably not on the weekends. Like I don't know its like buying a dark souls game knowing its a souls game but complaining that "its too hard".

Can Sadako still moonwalk survivors to death?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3300037#Comment_3300037
I haven't played her nearly as much since the meta changes, but I don't think this is accurate. The condemnation strategy is overrated. Her real strengths are exactly what OP pointed out: she has undetectable and can teleport rapidly. If you know how to use this to your advantage, you can, with the right build, take gens out just as fast as survivors are able to get them going.
She's absolutely vicious in a three-gen situation, and her power lets her treat the last three gens as a functional three-gen no matter where on the map they happen to end up.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3300039#Comment_3300039
I never run anything on her other than her brown and yellow cooldown add-ons (maybe the iri one on occasion).
Either way, you can still check every gen on the map in rapid succession. You may occasionally have to walk to one instead of teleporting, but unlike her weaker cousin Dredge, hooks near her teleport locations aren't blocked, so you can happily hook someone, run over to a gen and kick it with Pop (actually still a decent perk on Sadako), then teleport back as someone is going for the save.
(Playing with a scumbag works well with her, too, even more than it does with most killers. If you're not above proxy camping and tunneling, she can pull some pretty mean tricks.)
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3300158#Comment_3300158
I've heard lots about Sadako's supposed mindgame abilities, but I've never been able to figure out how to get that to work myself, and I'm beginning to think it's mostly bunk. I think it's a little strange to argue that Clown has worse anti-chase when that's his whole kit. Ending chases is the only thing Clown is good at. Sadako, not so much, but your first hit is usually free with her.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3301553#Comment_3301553
Before streamers starting making these condemned videos in the past few months, it was "Oh, condemned isn't even a mechanic. You can just ignore it the entire game and waltz on out the gates." (Not wrong.)
People just parrot whatever is popular on the forums and in YouTube videos. I seriously doubt that Sadako's high killrate is carried exclusively by a niche playstyle, and I doubt even more that most of the people saying she's weak have spent any time playing as her or trying out different playstyles to see what works.. Playing for condemned isn't easy, and it's easy to counter if you switch up your strategy.
Hot take: condemned still sucks unless you spend all of your time practicing on how to play for it, and her strongest playstyle is slowdown + tunneling.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3302087#Comment_3302087
It works on more people than you'd think, especially if they're on gens.
Manifesting and demanifesting in chase wastes precious seconds and is bad, whatever anyone here on the forums says, but manifesting just as you're running up to a gen will actually get you some nice hits.
Yeah if the people are genuinely clueless. Anyone that is actually paying attention which in higher mmr they'll hear the lullaby and be running after hearing it for 2 consistent seconds.
-
Impatience
When in chase with a survivor for 60/50/40 seconds you get a 15% haste boost 8 seconds after leaving chase.
Upon re-entering chase within those 8 seconds will not activate the perk instead it will act like you never left chase.
While under this perks specific haste effects your terror radius is increased by 14/12/10 meters
This perks effects disappears when you injure a survivor (mainly for huntress, trickster and twins), enter a new chase after the 8 seconds grace period, kick a gen or picking up a dying survivor while the haste is active.
Note: Kicking a gen at all will disable this perks effects but the same does not apply to picking up a dying survivor which will not disable the perk if the action happens during the grace period.
Idk if this would even be good for the state of dbd right now because of map generation and strong perks that effect gen speeds/slowdown but I would imagine this perk being used more on M1's with passive slowdown and not much mobility especially m1's against exhaustion perks.

You're playing blight, just kill them lmao
"just kill them lmao" I guess people think blight = win now. The power difference between base blight and blight with at least 1 speed against good survivors is so massive. Even I myself which used to run primarily slam duration and recovery speed have to run slowdown because of people that just pre drop pallets. Which is about everyone that plays against a blight.
-
Would be safe to say that rarely anyone would play killer despite old moris being a thing.
-
A lot of things encourage me to tunnel. Does that mean all of them should be buffed to help prevent me from tunneling them? No because if a survivor wants to get in my face to force a hit then they can get punished by being out of the game earlier than I wanted too.
-
Worst part about it is you can't tell if they're just a troll (I consider most hackers trolls) or just a super entitled survivor player.

oni flick is literally an exploit bhvr tried and failed to fix.
The oni 180 flick is an expliot. The normal flick range you should only be able to go at max is 90 degrees and possibly more if you pre turn.

Can you explain how a 60%+ killrate is survivor sided? On what kill rate would you see the game as balanced?
Tbh with how much I've seen survivors suicide on hook I'm willing to bet the actual kill rates is more towards 53-55%.
-
@Mooks said:
It’s only survivor sided if you view it from a specific point of you (high skill range, possibly swf coordination or at least all 4 survs know what they are doing)
other people - especially soloq players, actual newbs, casual players even in swf - also play this game and they experience may differ from this whole „survivor sidedness“ - but they are also allowed to give their feedback on their game experience.
Yes but since theres an mmr (not actually good) system then the opinions of people that play the game casually should be taken less seriously but not disregarded. Theres a reason why Overwatch went on so well for the first 2-3 years of its life which was because they saw the problems in the high end of the game and wanted to balance it.
-
I mean hes not exactly wrong. Even the survivors that claim "the chase is the most fun part" is just for them because its usually just run from main to a longwall/TL into shack which is totally fun as killer.
-
I still advocate for exhaustion and maps to be changed first before any other perks/speeds to anything. Exhaustion purely because its a near 0 effort option to use and you gain a massive advantage to using it. The only thing I would consider taking effort is timing DH against an M1 not any of the m2s or a nurse lunge.

Didn't seem like he needed any slowdown perks. He just kept chasing the guy until the gens popped because he didn't protect them. lol
I don' think you get the context. Its lerys and we have no context of gen spread. So that could mean they could get 1 gen close to finished he kicks it and camps that gen with base regression but then the 2 people run across the map to work on 2 separate gens. Simply cannot defend gens without regression if they're spread especially on lerys.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
What you told me is that you don't need slowdown at all for that match.
The only reason the gens got done by somebody mindlessly dropping pallets is cause you mindlessly kept going after them.
Having some kind of slowdown does feel needed vs equall survivors but your example really isn't good
Not sure if the "mindlessly going after them" argument works here 100%. Its lerys which means there's plenty of god windows/good pallets. So if you try to go back and forth between both survivors you'll just play the game out in a way still ends the same but takes longer.

and is fine to be that way the tunnel rampage needs to be adressed.
This isnt the way to do it though. Bringing back an actual no counterplay (you either eat a 5 second stun and go on for another 30-60 second chase or leave them to unbreakable to still go on a 30-60 second chase) option to "address tunneling" is just bad design.

If you don’t tunnel you won’t eat a ds it’s that simple and killers like the knight are also making game unbearable with just guard spamming that’s the only thing even if you run away once he gets you I’ve been held hostage from first hook by guards a few times
"If you dont tunnel you wont eat ds". Your original wording of the post was "activated until the doors were open". This implies that it would work like it did years ago where after first hook it was available whenever.
-
So bring back aggressive DS unbreakable... got it.

Literally every map has an impossible 3gen to repair as surv if killer decides to defende by any means, but ok
I literally never said it was a side specific issue...
-
I feel like the biggest problem right now is map sizes and gen spread. When there's a decent gen spread where every killer can compete without running 3-4 slowdown then it would be good to make perk changes towards gen regression.
