I wouldn't say failed exactly more like they don't know how to balance them.
-
Literally those changes would make double engravings worse than BHVRs proposed nerfs to engravings. Doom engravings base kit would not be 230+20 from the addon it would be 230x1.2 which is 276 because its a percentage increase. If that was the base speed then those changes you proposed could get by.
-
You can still see wraith while hes in power and hear him so no.
-
Ehh dbd syndrome. Rarely anyone can quit for long periods of time especially in the age of sequels and indie games.
-
Its gonna be used a lot more. It was never a bad perk... just powercrept by 16 second heal speeds that could then be sped up by other perks and self heal efficiency.
-
I mean a 2 out that shouldn't have been a 2 out would make him a sore winner and think something. It should have been a 3 out at least assuming you or your teammates didn't unhook the first guy.
-
From what I heard it turned into quite the opposite where a single one of the runners could 1v1 the killer.

Dead hard didn’t need another nerf. Killer mains complained it used no skill. They then fixed it to where it needs skill and people complain.
Healing takes a 3rd as long as a gen? Might as well stay half dead the whole game.
Circle of healing? Hopefully you brought a medkit or your teammates actually do teamwork.
Pain res is practically useless at this point.
A thing that has always been in the game and is simply counterable by a single perk is getting removed.
Who asked for the billy nerf? The devs 100% only read like one thing that complained about Billy and decided to nerf him.
New DH never needed skill unless it was against a 48 m/s hatchet huntress. Its still just a gamble if someone's riding your back or are nurse/blight and is basically free against M2's. Whatever "skill" it requires now is very little.
-
If the killer had 2-3 hooks by end game then you should have had plenty of time to look for totems. Not to mention the plethora of totem hunting perks and one that even speeds up the process by 40% after the first totem.

It's a really trash change that does everything the community doesn't want: It's blocked by camping, disabled by hard-tunnelling, and is going to work significantly worse in solo queue than in swiffers.
If someone's hard tunneling then they most likely already hit the basekit BT unless you went down near a deadzone.
-
This post is just cap. No way anyone finds the hit and run gameplay to be more boring than a killer sitting in one area of the map the whole game.

I mostly play survivor but when i do play killer im a hag main. Hag already is a slow killer and its hard to defend gens on big maps. I usually place my traps at hooks and gens but now that they can just remove my traps at the hook it seems useless. Im thinking about becoming a doctor main after this update.
Idk if the proposed nerfs to gen regression are as bad as they are now actually go through it's not like hag is gonna be shifted aside anyway. Cause what happens if those changes go through? Gen stall meta with deadlock, dms etc. Hag is just not built to really be an area denial killer at all and I don't see what buff could make her actually good against decent survivors other than making her 115.
-
Literally the whole argument of "removing fun" can be tied to any kind of nerf so it's kind of a redundant argument.
-
Honestly from a logic stand point the hag change can be either a nerf or buff. It's a complete nerf to basement hag but CAN be a buff to regular hag that sets around hooks because its significantly easier to get away from a hook in the middle of nowhere where disabling the trap would actually cost you time therefore a net positive for you.
-
They definitely have enough money. I will support them when they earn me.

it isn't though. They nerfed survivor and buffed the entire basekit only nerfing a few slowdowns...
"a few slowdowns"... basically every gen regression perk got nerfed/gutted EXCEPT for Huntress' Lullaby and Surge which is already only useful on m1's.
-
This is indeed very true statements despite the attempt at mocking it. Funny thing is I RARELY see survivors bring healing perks that affect their own heal speed nowadays that isn't CoH. I'd maybe see botany maybe 1 match out of 5 while CoH would be in at least 3 of them. It's just survivors will be more enticed to run a healing perk now because being injured is actually a threat now that DH is also nerfed.

What do you mean by unskilled? It takes near perfect timing and right zone usage to be usable? It takes skill. Now it doesn't take skill to press m1
"takes skill" The only time I would consider it to take skill is against the faster hatchet addon for huntress. Against m1's its always a gamble or just free from a telegraphed lunge and stuff like nurse or blight is just a 50/50.
-
Idk when I see a slug get healed from nothing to healthy in less than 15 seconds THROUGH coulrophobia.... I think the healing changes aren't as bad as everyone says. AFAIK there wasn't even a boon up but I can't check becausethe streamer I watched doesn't save vods from people using his clips/vods without permission and people witch hunting.

Survivor entitlement where? Your comparing a few small killer nerfs to some pretty huge survivor nerfs
"a few small killer nerfs" do you really think 125% regression from CoB and 130 from Overcharge is actually worth something on their own? Not to mention the absolute NUKE to pain res.

@feffrey said:

What else are survivors supposed to do now when a killer sees them? Let them get their free hit first then lay Down and die?
You and I both know that it doesn't go like that.
-
I mean if the perks already bad and getting nerfed and CoH getting rebalanced for the gutting of CoB, Eruption and Pain res then I think its worth it.

So um. 24 seconds at base, with 25% healing speed: 40 seconds is our baseline.
10 stacks of Leverage is 50%, so we should bring this up at 60 seconds.
Pentimento is an extra 30% so... 72 seconds?
Coulrophobia is another flat 50% and we cross the threshold of 92 seconds.
Maximum Dying light is 33%, should be 13.2 seconds and now we are at 105.2 seconds.
And for fun, let's say the survivor is also mangled. That's 25% more. 10 more seconds and this survivor will have successfully spent 115.2 seconds self-caring in a corner!
And this is of course assuming that all the percentages all work off the baseline time. Who needs generators?
EDIT: Wait my first calculation is wrong! The baseline should be higher!
I think you did the math wrong. Self care should be 35% the normal healing speed so 24/0.35 would be over a minute

Dead Hard and CoH did not need nerfs to begin with, and the Dead Hard change is terrible for the game because it encourages killers to tunnel people off the hook and not chase the person who did the unhook.
Anyone who is cheering for this change has irrational DH PTSD and needs to step back and reconsider the overall health of the game.
The way the games already built encourages going after the unhooked than the unhooker. Why go after the guy you never hooked or why would you not go for the guy closer to death.
-
Hill billy nerf in 2023. Hopefully they’ll go back on the engravings nerf and see why they are used more than every other worthless addon he has.
-
Honestly looks like they're extending the car wall towards the gas station at the far end of it. The distance between it and the map border is way too small for it to be somewhere in the middle. Of course I would prefer if the car wall was just split in two completely.

Is playing to have fun, instead of optimizing the easiest win and making the most boring matches possible, off the table?
There needs to be a balance between having fun and winning. You should be able to have fun and win but on 3 quarters of the killer roster that isn't possible when you just get exhaustion or slowdown perks leading you to hold W longer or hold M1 longer.

If you're bad just say it.
By the rules of hockey I can say the person being tunneled has the skill issue

The more you cut down on queue times the more you get worse/better players than your skill level which is never fun.

The only downside is time
In most discussions, time is the only thing that matters in the game.
If you nerf CoH, people will just bring medkits, which can be used anywhere, and heal considerably faster than Circle. Are you really sure that having someone full heal in your face while you break pallets during chase is the preferable option here?
The returns on CoH are variable, but it's also possible to spend 14 (or even 28) seconds booning a totem that gets zero value if found before it can be used, or even snuffed mid heal. Some people have clearly never had to bless (14s) and then self care for 21+ seconds, *after* hunting for and finding a relatively safe totem because that's the only option to go for a hook save.
Medkits already need to be nerfed heavily.
-
@Justa335i said:
How about we add a perk that stops killers from crying over the dumbest things?
You got rolled by them and they're celebrating. GG Go Next.
Who knows, maybe you will get a little echo chamber of other killers in here and you can all complain together 😉
Yeah but you do the same thing about killer then you hear more voices because survivor players drastically outnumber killer players
-
Basically the reason why they're so busted is because you basically get no multiple people pressure (excluding perks like old eruption) unless you hook camp which multiple medkits leads to anyway.

All I really want for Billy is to not randomly turn left or right when I start running with my chainsaw. Let's say I'm behind a survivor and I begin to charge my chainsaw. It's really damn hard to hit them because your chainsaw can turn left or right completely randomly. I don't even know why this is a thing.
It's called curving and that's the part that makes people wanna play hillbilly over leather face or blight or did since maps keep getting worse and worse for him.

I'm honestly surprised BHVR hasn't removed his secondary collision detection.
No secondary collision = no object sliding = no hug tech = survivors can counter his power much easier. BHVR wouldn't need to rework Blight's code to actually fix his collision. They would just need to remove his secondary collision detection, that was created after Blight was released, to make survivors happy, at the low low cost of Blight's quality of life crashing into the ground.
I'd rather not have PTB blight back no thank you.
-
@Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:
Even with this 'tech' I feel he's still kind of weak. Likely why its not a priority. This 'tech' is the only thing keeping him afloat as a useable killer. Not saying it should be removed or not, just saying lol.
Def not weak. Hug tech is more of a flashy move to do where bump logic will always prevail.

@thrawn3054 said:
I don't bother with items more often then not anymore because Franklin's is so popular. Honestly the perk shouldn't exist.
Wouldn't need to exist if medkits and toolboxes werent as OP.
-
The last thing we need is another overtuned exhaustion perk. Exhaustion perks in general are just a big hinderance to balance and IMO should be removed.

Weak sauce. This just encourages gen kick botting once again. The original nerf was bad, but I wish at least they'd stuck to their guns and maybe made other changes. Gotta still milk sale on those RE chapters I guess. So much for the meta shake up mindset.
I mean people would go back to using CoB + overcharge, pain res and prob dead mans if eruption was nerfed to current regression because current regression just sucks when gens already don't take long to complete.

It is a killer issue. When ive asked people why they were toxic they said otz told them too 🤷🏽♀️ Which goes back to my point of fog whispers encouraging toxicity against survivors but not killers
It can happen with any somewhat infamous dbd content creator, not just fog whisperers. If they give you that response of "otz told me too" is because they either care little for the game or are trolls which you inherently give a reaction too from the post being created.
-
I can say I have been goated into believing a survivor has been near me from my own killers breathing which is mainly blights because for some reason one or two or his breathing sounds are basically survivors breathing.

Saying someone else should just stop playing when they adress serious issues with the game, is just arrogant and narrowminded. If you don't have anything constructive to bring to the table, why comment at all?
So everyone should just accept that Solo Que is slowly dying and adapt to the new reality where hardcore SWF groups and sweaty killers are the only thing left in this game? If it reaches that point, maybe I will go play something else. But at least I am trying to adress the issues and actually keep Solo Que interesting enough for people to keep playing it. What are you bringing to the table?
Because... thats how other games work like Seige and you don't see anybody complaining about that because ITS WHAT THEY SIGNED UP FOR. Sure they might get killed within the first few seconds of the round but rarely do I hear them complain about not being able to play the game. But by buying the game you acknowledged how the game could go and you agreed to it and even without realizing it... logically thats how the game could have played out if you just look at the goals for each side.
-
Then this simply isn't the game for you which is a suggestion.
-
Yeah I usually dodge private profiles from the cheating rep this game has. Also high prestige survivors with 4 medkits/toolboxes because that is clearly a lobby that they are expecting to have good chase interactions with a random 115 killer. Now if I'm blight sure I'll play that just maybe take off one of my casual addons for a single speed.
-
I mean of course the reception is gonna be negative when shes worse trapper.
-
With the proposed nerf it will only really be viable on killers with very high mobility and chase potential. So basically blight, wesker, oni. 10% of current progress is just not worth it even if applied to more than 1 gen. Its better to just keep it how it currently is with a nerf to 8% and change the incapacitated back to 16 or the 10 second aura reading. Of course to help combat swfs it would be "if the person has worked on this gen within the last 3 seconds they still get revealed".
-
they wanted to make it so "one perk isnt the go to compared to others" while making eruption only worth using on highly mobile killers.
-
Can say for one... dh does NOT take much skill to use. Its literally a gamble when a killer rides your back and the only "timing" is maybe a hatchet or lunge,
-
I mean medkits and toolboxes are fundamentally broken. Same as exhaustion with how big certain maps are.
