I've seen your history on Steam. You're one to know very well how high ranks are.
Not to be mean, but what did you expect?

At least a little bit of change. I've stayed away from high ranks as much as possible for the past year, it's only now with Emblems that I can't avoid ranking up as easily anymore.

    Understood.

  • I've seen your history on Steam. You're one to know very well how high ranks are.
Not to be mean, but what did you expect?

  • I'd rather have it so SWF suffers from a decrease in BP gain, each additional Survivor lowering the % gained by a certain amount.
Or heck, instead of punishing those that play SWF, maybe encourage playing alone by giving non-SWF Survivors a boost in BP.

  • Heartless from Kingdom Hearts.
While most of them are colorful, there's a certain breed of Heartless called Pure, which are mostly designed to be dark and revolve around shadow and darkness that comes as various abilities, such as being completely flat on the ground, turning invisible, flying around as a flame and coming out of that state with an attack etc.

I was once a rank 1 Killer, and always played off-meta; But now that I’ve decided to play more survivor, I’ beginning to feel how boring it gets when just about every Killer runs the same perks. It’s tiring.
What are your thoughts? Do you (any rank Killer players) feel that these perks are such a necessity? Have you made it to rank 1 without heavy use of these perks.
I’m seriously considering coming out of retirement to show these new age Killers how it’s done.

If you wanna win, you use what's best.
if you wanna win with a challenge, you don't use what's best.
Besides, 96% of all Survivors run Self Care as a standard on high ranks, so no one can really point fingers to anyone.

  • Survive With Friends.
Kills any chance to get an enjoyable match. :'(

  • None, i prefer using the titles the game gave them.

  • It's always Jakes.
    Meg and Claudette are abundant.
    Dwight is the original meme.
Jake's dull and since Saboteur isn't what it once was, that doesn't help.

  • FUEL TANK

    • Once the Chainsaw is fully charged, instead of doing the Chainsaw sprint, the Chainsaw replaces your main weapon, becoming a main weapon in every way while also putting Survivors into the dying state automatically.
    • Your fuel tank can be refilled to 100% at any time by searching a locker for a gas can.
    • Your fuel tank is tiny, the Chainsaw can only run passively for 30 seconds and every swing you make with it drains it by 10 seconds.
    • Turning the Chainsaw off takes just as long as turning it on, wasting some fuel.

    IRIDESCENT CHAINS

    • Unlocks the ability to kill Injured Survivors with the Chainsaw.
    • You have to land a Chainsaw-sprint hit to start the Mori.
    • Tremendously increases the Chainsaw charge time.
  • Could cut it shorter by not having to walk up to the Survivor, but instead start the animation by already standing on their arm.
Could cut it shorter by using both hands to flick the Bear Trap open to set it.
Could cut it shorter by not having the Survivor land on their hands and then having to kick them in. (Yes, kicking them into it is badass, but he throws them at the Bear Trap first, which i find way more badass.)

Any one of these or a combination of these would make it fast enough.
And hey, the Clown's Mori is now the absolute slowest Mori of them all, ranking at about 14 seconds or so.
While the Pig, the Killer before him, has one of the fastest Moris, at about 9 seconds. (I think Wraith is still faster.)

  • The only stupid things about the changes you mentioned is that great, balanced Perks like Lithe & Balanced Landing will suffer from Sprint Burst being way too strong.

  • Nothing satisfies me more playing as Killer than getting a 4 Kill using a 5-Token Hex: Devour Hope.

Since it's uncommon to get to 3-Tokens, rare to use the 3-Tokens bonus more than once, very rare to get to 5-Tokens & ultra rare to use the 5-Tokens bonus more than once, it only makes the times that you do pull off a 4 Kill that much more satisfying.
In the current version, i'd never qualify that Perk as a meta as i'd never qualify any Hex Perk as meta except for Hex: No One Escapes Death perhaps, not gonna give that much thought right now.
(Hex: Ruin isn't meta to me, i won't qualify something that feels more required than actually good as meta.)
But dang it, it's so worth it to try and get kills with it.

  • Heavily disagree, it does what it needs to do and it does it amazingly well.
What needs a buff is No One Left Behind.

  • Oh yeah, Territorial Imperative is actually fantastic on Hillbilly.
All you need is 1 greedy Survivor, then make sure your focus is to snowball and...well, you can snowball pretty hard then. :p

This is the average of what happened to me today...

Lobbies get filled with Survivors who either have blood, are in SWF or both, and a few Survivors without either.
Guess who don't disconnect? The Survivors without either blood or SWF.

Players are supposed to have fun, no? Where's the fun that i'm supposed to have in this? "Oops, i failed. Better DC from that Hook/Mori."

Oh yeah, side-note: Remove the ability for Survivors to quit out during Mori animations while also making it impossible to interrupt the Mori animation as Killer. It's only a few seconds, they can spare those. And yes, i realize they can still pull the plug, but that's kinda unsolvable, so at least do that. Then make it so the Killer can't stop the Mori so they can't spam the beginning animation.

I remember the developers saying they mostly want the game to be fun.
That's great and all, but what's not enjoyable about the game will stand out. And this stands out greatly to me, and for longer than just today.

I'm guessing since you are level 2 that you only played a couple of games. Play more games before you make a post like this.

Unless you think players should play 2000 or more hours to then have a valid opinion, i strongly believe i've encountered MORE than enough disconnectors to be absolutely sick of them.

Was not referring to your game hours. Was talking about how you at the time took the screenshot while at level 2 with the new patch that just came out on the same day you posted this thread. Even though they disconnect from this one game in the new patch apparently it happens all the time from here on out for you..

Then let me inform you on this: Just because i was level 2 at the time of the screenshot doesn't mean i still was at the end of the day.

I know, never expected you to stay there...

Then there's nothing else i can do for you.
For you, it'll just come down to the good ol' "Believe it or not" and if i can't convince you, oh well. :p
But still, these are some things i'd like to share...

It's INCREDIBLY uncommon for me to go through a match without at least 1 Survivor disconnecting.
I never camp, cause it bores me.
I tunnel until they're on the hook mostly, if that even counts as tunneling.
My chat is off 24/7, so i can't say anything.
I myself never disconnect, not as Killer or Survivor, since i practically never have emergencies and i know how to plan ahead.
I never (pallet) loop, cause it bores me.

I name these things simply to try and dismiss that i am the cause of these Survivors disconnecting from my matches.
Again, believe it or not, i can't convince you more than what i just named.
I also find it very much unbelievable that like 7 Survivors all have real-life emergencies within 3 matches, and that those emergencies also happen to occur right as i down/hook/Mori them.

Seriously , stop crying about you not getting a mori kill or not having fun. Pretty sure some dc's are because they don't have fun either.
    Jeez...
I get some people dc on me too and I never went crying about it to the whole community.

I almost never run Ruin anyway, i much prefer Hex: Devour Hope. But i equipped it on everyone a few days ago to see how much longer i could have matches last with that instead.
But regardless of that, not running a Perk is a stupid solution: You don't get to play a certain way, or you'll not be able to play against an average of 50% of the players, cause they'll DC.
Do you see how stupid that is?
Also, of course i complain (not cry, cause that term is overused) about Moris not being pulled off: You offered it and it'll go away at the end of the match no matter what, so you might as well use it.
But no, salty losers just want to give a last f you.
    And again, you overuse crying.

I believe Hex: Devour Hope is an amazing Perk, and that statement includes the heavy Hex downside.

I've been wanting to test it as an alternative to Ruin. Seen as if either blows instantly they both had the same effect. However if DH stays up it's NOED until they break it, possible moris, and they WILL go look for it instead of tapping, or just nailing checks anyway.

It's super fun to snowball with, but that's the downside. Without Ruin you HAVE to snowball.

If you managed to hit someone who was Healthy while having 3 Tokens, it saved you a lot of time already, for you cut down the chase by a potentially large amount of time.
Being able to kill them is amazing, sure. But the primary reward is being able to 1-hit.
Even on someone like Hillbilly it's great to have, for main attacks don't require nearly as much as the Chainsaw.

I think they don't have any "definitive" idea about it yet.

Aww man, that actually sounds very interesting to me, the extra Add-on slot.

Well, that could lead to a lot of trouble, especially with Myers and insta-kill add-ons and such.
I suggested something like : make it so you could get a 3rd add-on slot, but do not make them STACK anymore.
So you could basically do a Billy with : Anti heal, High steering and moderate charge/cooldown for example with Begrimed, Moonshine and Carburetor.
But some add-ons combos could prove too strong and problematic, sadly, especially with Huntress and such.

    Fair enough.

Maybe become able to trap upright Pallets, dropped Pallets and windows when you have this equipped by doing a 3-4 second animation, in which the Killer calls upon the Entity to put his spikes there, but instead of the spikes blocking the Survivors, they deal damage when a Survivor interacts with them.
It'd be Token-based, meaning that, every time you trap a Pallet or window, it consumes 1 Token.
You start with 0 Tokens, you can gain Tokens by either not getting stunned by a dropped Pallet or if someone does a fast vault over a Pallet or window, and you can have up to 1/2/3 Tokens at a time, depending on the Perk level.

I think of this because, when i look at the Tinkerer icon and lore description, my mind jumps to a craftsman.

i like Tinkerer though i no longer run it since i don't use add-ons anymore. maybe it could be an slight increase in every aspect of the power (add-ons or not).... so even without using add-ons, it would give a small buff to all charge and cooldown times....

So JEWberry mentioned something similar and i think i can safely say they're more than likely not going to just make it charge the Power faster.
They want to change it cause it makes a lot of extra work for the Add-ons.
If they make it just affect the Power, they most likely will still have to put in extra work to make it work with the new Power.
Though it's probably not as time-consuming as making it work with new Add-ons, it still is extra work, which they want to avoid since they'd otherwise have to charge people more for the DLCs that have Tinkerer-affected Add-ons or Powers.

Idk how legit that explanation seems, but i believe they just won't do what you two said.

  • On another note, i noticed how that Claudette was pretty much the icing on the cake in that clip.
She didn't even move to try and find the Hatch, she just waited there for you to pick her up, THEN disconnect.

How much of a sore loser can you be?
"I'll either wait until the last second of my bleed-out timer and then disconnect, or i disconnect as soon as i'm picked up, cause ######### you for winning, Killer."

It's still not as bad as people disconnecting during a Mori animation though, i REALLY want the Mori to not be able to be cancelled by the Killer, and then i want the disconnect button to not be available during the Mori. (Yes, they can still pull the plug, but that can't ever be resolved, so tough luck.)

What people don't realize is they try to tell the Killer's to "ignore it and have fun," yet they talk about how Survivors "don't have many options," and resort to using top meta perks, which ironically makes them tryhards. Rather than use other things and "have fun" they run the most optimal things. The perk stat usage doesn't lie. Most survivors rely on DS, SC, and SB.

The issue is, Survivors don't NEED to rely on these things because looping is already so crutchy, and simple skill will allow a survivor to run with no perks. There's 0 reason for people to rely this heavily on these perks other than they are unskilled.

On the other hand, there isn't 1 particular perk that is really overpicked for Killers, like SC is obviously waaaay overpicked, being used by 80% of survivors last time they showed stats. Killers tend to rely on a few perks that help their playstyle, but also because the game's mechanics are so skewed against them, it becomes nearly impossible to win using anything else, no matter how skilled you may be, as we saw with Marth's squad and how they bodied Killers using the sweatiest builds imaginable, USING ABSOLUTELY NO PERKS THEMSELVES.

Whether they're accurate or not, i'd REALLY like to see the devs release usage stats on Perks again, and this time in all kinds of ways...

    Include ALL Perks, then...
Make a list on all ranks just for consoles.
Make a list on all ranks just for PC.
Make a list on grey ranks (20-17) just for consoles.

I agree, I would like to see these stats. And not hidden behind a way that makes the problem seem less serious than it really is, like when they showed the stats last time.

If it loses relevance, then the next event becomes quite unavoidable, which is people leaving, whether that be a specific Killer, Killers entirely or the game entirely.
In whatever way it's voiced, it's not very wise of the team to just straight up consider complaints about the fun factor not important and ignore them.

Complaints about the fun factor come from both sides. Victimization and generalization blinds the speaker, thus making the whole issue exaggerated and irrelevant to a certain extent.

That they come from both sides is not part of that issue, both should be lended an ear, or an eye in the forum's case.
They're not blind either, most unfun experiences that are explained on here are experienced multiple times in quick succession before they'll write it down, otherwise it's something you can brush off.
If i only got a 4 DS SWF team every 200 hours, i don't think i'd ever complain about them.

Make a list on grey ranks (20-17) just for PC.
Make a list on yellow ranks (16-13) just for consoles.
Make a list on yellow ranks (16-13) just for PC.
Make a list on green ranks (12-9) just for consoles.
Make a list on green ranks (12-9) just for PC.
Make a list on purple ranks (8-5) just for consoles.

That's what I'm talking about. "Both should be lended an ear". Exactly. That's why I'm against constant victimization and memeing, because it minimizes one side, to the detriment of the other.

It only minimizes one side if the one who with the issue presents it in such a way.
Lend them an ear at first, then judge, is how i view the right way.
Someone with the title of "This is why i'm not having fun" is usually too quickly judged from my point of view, or at least what i've frequently seen on the Steam forums.

Just found this video. It sums up DbD problems concisely. While it is outdated, it shows one thing.

Killer has always been, and likely always will be, frustrating to no end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnwdPlx9yR4

I watched it before, i can relate to it.
I went through every single negative thing the devs threw at Killers, whether they were justifiable or not, for i would assume it was for balance's sake.
I wouldn't always agree with them, frankly i moreso disagreed than agreed, but it's not my game, so whatever.
Except for one thing: The bug that made Survivors able to rescue Survivors from your grasp during animations.
I just didn't play during that bug's existence, the game was nowhere near any concept of fun.

And then they bring it back...
    As a balance addition...
    During an event...

Ever since then, i haven't felt excitement for anything yet, i will always assume they'll just ######### up some more.
This pallet-drop thing in the PTB? Holy ######### yes, it's so cool! But they'll find a way to cater to the Survivor complaints, and i can't be convinced to think in any other way anymore...

They mentioned (can't remember when) they will rework the perk because currently it requires a lot of work to make it work for a new killer.

    Yeah, i was aware. :)

  • If i see someone t-bagging, i will always assume they're not ever gonna be friendly in that trial.
Why? There's enough other ways to try and convey that.
T-bagging has been seen, in the gaming world, as a way to mock the player you're t-bagging.
So why should this game be any different?
Besides, Survivors got gestures, running in circles, just standing still in an unsafe spot.
Heck, they could just crouch instead of t-bag and i wouldn't assume they're trying to mock me.
I'm not triggered by t-bagging, but i just have the mindset of: If they do it, they have no intentions of being a decent human being this trial.

Like why the [BAD WORD] would you not run something thats gives you an advantage?

Well why do lots of games have a hardmode?

    Bragging rights

Well there ya' go, and it comes in all kinds of different forms. :)
I HATE being in high ranks as Killer, or at least currently: Nothing but boring looping. Whether it's required or not isn't my concern, my concern is that it's boring.
But then i look at No Mither and think: Hmm, i'll slap Resilience on and Iron Will (since they boosted the sounds) and maybe Dead Hard or just something good and i'll try to overcome these big odds.

  • I wouldn't say often. Or at least, in my experience, i just never encounter this except if they do it unintentionally because they're noobs, like unhooking me, thinking it's safe while it's not.
Your example actually requires some more information, cause what that Survivor did honestly isn't so much working together with the Killer as it was trying to get the Killer off their back.
Like, if that Survivor never got hit and the Killer always switched target and if they were the last one alive, that's already WAY more suspicious.
