Its what I think, its more safe for killer to play more dirty than fair.
If Blood rush instantly recover Exhaustion without requires to be healthy, instead making Broken for 2min and not healed after. It would be become an anti tunnel for sure.
Very true if the perk worked like that it be like old DS, killers would just go after the unhooker instead since they do not want to chase someone with two SBs right off hook.
-
On paper Blood Rush is fine since it req a lot of things to even use it but it will completely encourage killers to tunnel someone on death hook bc there is no way a killer knows you have BR or not. Let's say I have a lobby with 3 SB and a DH. Well, I have to assume that the 3 SB survivors are running BR, and the only way I have as a killer to counter it will be tunneling them off the hook so they don't get healed and use it against me. Otz also made a good point that BR doesn't affect all killers equally. A blight or a nurse wouldn't care if you have BR bc they can easily catch up in little to no time but a Myers or a Sakako is going to be completely murdered by this perk. I wish I could say I knew a fix for it but I really don't know how you would fix BR so it doesn't lead to more tunneling.
All I do know is that it going to have a reserves DS effect on killers. Before DS was nerfed it was a great anti-tunnel perk bc most killers were afraid of being hit by it so the safest way to not eat a ds was to not tunnel at all even if a survivor wasn't running it. BR is going to be the opposite bc now the safest way to avoid it is to tunnel someone off.

I never claimed to represent the whole of people on here?😂 Why do you people keep saying stuff like that? I simply stated what I think about the chapter, just like everybody else. I never once said “THIS IS MY OPINION AND IT IS THE SUPREME OPINION OF THE FORUM!” what?😂
"I stand with the majority. Major majority at that. You sir, are in the minority." <--- this makes you sound like that tbh. You may not say it directly but your wording implies it. It sounds like it bc you agree with the majority which makes you right when in reality you only agree with the majority on the forums but not the whole community. The forum is only part of the community. You're right most ppl on the forum don't like the chapter but that doesn't mean everyone in the game community feels the same way as you at the end of the day it really doesn't matter if you part of the majority bc its the majority of a small part of the whole community. Anyway, Im just going to leave it here and say we just have to agree to disagree.

I can say I stand with the majority of the forums. No argument there…
I love your little sideways dig at me at the end. Am I “loud” because I don’t like the killer? Or because I don’t agree with what you think? What aspect of any of my comments make them “loud”? Why aren’t the other comments debating the other side loud? Nothing I said was hateful or unreasonable.
“People like you”, lmao ok kiddo. 😂
No dig at you...just saying ppl who dislike something are loud about it aka talk about it all the time and sometimes drown out the voices of those who do like the chapter. I don't care if you agree or disagree with me and I meant no disrespect. I'm just saying what most ppl already know about internet forums. You are free to continue to complain and voice you're displeased about the chapter. Just know you do not represent the whole community. Have a bless day ^^
P.S. I just edited my post to take out "ppl like you" Hope that is better ^^

I could care less if YOU take me serious. I stand with the majority. Major majority at that. You sir, are in the minority.
I don't know if you can honestly say you are part of the majority when there is no real way to find out what the majority thinks right now when it comes to this chapter. Usually, the ppl who come onto a forum or reddit are those who are really unhappy about something while the happy ppl tend to not even come on here to talk about how happy they are. Without some kinda poll or consensus I don't think you can honestly say you are part of the majority. Reddit and this forum do not represent the whole community as a whole and the only real way to prove what you are saying is by looking at the chapter sales when it comes out. If the chapter sales really poorly and doesn't make as much money as previous chapters then yes then you can claim to be part of the majority but till we know those numbers we really don't know what the majority thinks. All we know is ppl who really hates something tend to be loud about....

Thalita’s perks are all weak and niche, nothing to really complain about truthfully unless you’re hot garbage at pressuring gens.
Blood Rush truthfully isn’t anything to complain about either. It’s a one time use that only works when very specific conditions are met and will only get the most value in just a few scenarios. You’re complaining about nothing.
Ok here is the thing about Blood Rush, you are not wrong but it will lead to killers tunneling even more, and that is what ppl are worried about. Think about old DS, why it was so good was because a lot of killers were afraid of being hit by it. In this fear, killers wouldn't tunnel a survivor off the hook bc they had to think every survivor was running DS. Blood Rush is going to have the opposite effect of DS. Killers are now going to tunnel someone right off their 2nd hook in fear they are running Blood Rush. If I think every survivor is running this perk in a match I'm going to have to tunnel each one off 2nd hook to keep them from being healed and using it against me, that's the only counter to it. Do you see the problem here? It's going to create a fear effect in killers and the only way to counter it is to tunnel them right off hook.

you clearly don't understand why people are even mad in the first place. People have been waiting for new content since wesker thats a really long time ago to wait for a game to have good content to keep them entertained, and busy. Knight sucked, and now we have this chapter which also sucks. That means we have to wait at least another 3 months for new content. Thats why people are mad. BHVR should have realized this from the backlash they got from knight, and yet release another similar killer that the majority of the community has said that didn't like or want. Don't tell people to just accept it like its nothing. As everyone else has said this will be the lowest selling chapter ever in dbd history, and we yet again have to wait for better content to be released. People have a right to be mad, and protest this chapter specially after the terrible knight released. You have to understand people are starving for good decent content in DBD, and we haven't had that since wesker.
I can understand that but some of y'all should also understand that no amount of protesting isn't going to stop them from releasing this chapter in 3 weeks. Even if they did throw this chapter out like some are calling for the outcome will still be the same. You still have to wait 3 months for another chapter and have no content to play. At least if they release this chapter with buffs to the killer that gives some of the community content to play with rather than denying everyone the chapter. At the end of the day, you have the right to be mad and upset but do realize that just because you are mad doesn't mean BHVR is going not release this chapter and there are people who do like this killer and just hoping they will give her some buff. I know personally I rather see this chapter released and they work on buffing her rather than not seeing it release at all and having to wait another 3 months with nothing.

It's completely normal that assets are going to be reused and it's not like she looks completely like Trickster. The chapter is really bad but they have been working on it for quite some time, so it's not to be expected that they will scrap the chapter. We should just hope that BHVR will make as many changes as possible before it goes live.
This is very true. I play ff14 and do you know how many times they reuse assets? All the time! You can clearly see boss skeletons being reused all the time in raids. It's just cost-effective to use something you already made as the base for something new instead of creating all new assets.

how about not going "don't buy if you don't like it" and go "they offer us trash how dare they?" we have the right to complain about it without getting it.
Because I don't think it's trash and your complaining isn't going to make them change their business model. I am being realistic here and thinking from a dev pov. They not going to scarp the work they have done just bc you and others want them to throw away the chapter. They will release the chapter like they always have and it'll either completely flop or it won't. If you want to voice your complaints that's fine but demanding them to throw away work or calling it a scam just bc you don't like it isn't going to happen isn't going to change anything. Btw how is it a scam when no one is forcing or making you buy it? You have that choice you know. So complain all you want but it will go on deaf ears. A healthier way to go about this is just don't buy the chapter and move on with your life. But hey you won't listen to me, its the internet, a place for ppl like you to yell into the void.... Have a blessed day
-
Lol yeah, they not going to do that XD If you don't want this killer then don't buy it and just wait for the anniversary chapter.

Less is more. Always.
This isn’t an RTS.
With Knight, bird lady and now this new dog shite killer, it’s no longer about simplicity as a killer. It’s now stop playing action paced killer to become a part time dungeon master and minecraft map creator with drawing shapes and paths and placing drones.
Gimme Bubba , twins, dredge etc any day of the week. Im right in the action. No slowing down to pause to play some stupid mini game with drones and birds and ghosts.
F outta here with this direction they are headed.
Less is more. Killer go zoom zoom stab. That’s all we need. That’s all it ever needs to be.
You have so many killers like that so go play them. Also, you get more of them to come Im pretty sure. If every killer was like that then the game would be boring for everyone. Survivors will get bored going against the same type of killer every match. Just ask Otz and other high-hour survivors how much they are tired of only seeing blights and nurses every match. If every killer was a chase killer their powers will start overlapping a lot. We already seeing it happen with Wesker. How is his power any different than the nurse's or blight's power? His Dash is basely a combo of their powers into one power. Having different killers is a very very good thing for the game. No one is forcing you to buy the killers you find boring or making you play them. You have plenty of choices for high-speed killers with chase powers and Im pretty sure you have even more to choice from going forward.
-
I watched the behind the scenes video they posted and I say they are not out of ideas. I just think most are not receiving or understanding the concept in the idea behind this killer. They wanted to make a surveillance/info killer who uses technology to hunt down ppl. I pretty confident they nailed that ideal. Personally I like she a info killer, it's kinda refreshing to have a killer like that. I do think she needs buffs to make her more deadly but her core mechanic is a neat idea that I like. I'm willing to wait and see what they do going forward with her. Also her being a info killer means you don't really have to bring info perks. You instead free to bring more chase focus perks.

Clearly didnt see ghostface and trickster on release. Community feedback pushed to prevent those two from being DoA. Though those two it was because of their power. So i think they need to go back to the drawing board on that alone. We don't need another twins where they just power through ignoring criticism (look at twins pickrate).
Again I have said her power goes needs a lot of work but I think her looks is just fine. There is only so much the devs can do tho in 3 weeks so I don't think we going to see big of a miracle. The thing is Im not saying anything to those who are criticizing her power since I agree with others on how weak she is. I'm just saying her looks and aesthetic are fine and nothing wrong with those. It is better for the devs to focus on her gameplay and power other than her looks just because ppl didn't get a cyborg or terminator.

That's what we are all trying to prevent. Bad perks, horrible power and an extremely unpopular look do not bode well for this Killer. We're trying to avoid a Twins 2.0
I didn't realize you guys speak for me and so many others who like her looks. Guess I just shut up now even tho I like her design and I like twins also. :P Have a nice day guys enjoy complaining into the void... Have a bless day o7

BHVR did not deliver to their core audience. The criticism is well deserved.
And I just criticizing your criticism :P At the end of the day, this is the killer we getting like it or not. No among of criticism is going to change that fact. They not going to just go back to the drawing board just bc ppl don't like how she looks. Personally, I like her design just like how I liked tricksters' design and the other killers'. Her power could be some major work that I agree with and will criticize all day since it is super weak but her look is fine. People are just upset bc they got something that wasn't promised in the first place. Trust me the next killer will most likely be more to your liking :P If you don't like her then play the other 30 killers we have in the game.

“Thinking outside the box” or “subverting expectations” is not an excuse for this chapter. No one should blamed for expecting a horror themed Killer in a horror themed game. Instead we got a character who is out of a direct-to-video Scifi movie.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3347746#Comment_3347746
Scary and horror themed are not interchangeable.
Ok if she was the terminator would you be saying that? Terminator isn't a horror theme character, he is from a Scifi action movie. If you don't like her design that's fine but didn't get mad at the devs for not delivering a chara that wasn't promised in the first play. Also, they have done non-horror theme killers before and never heard ppl care about their looks. Deathslinger is just a cowboy and has nothing to do with horror, and Legion is just a bunch of Canadian young adults with masks. The point is the devs are not restricted to horror or scary killers, they can make any killer, they make, look the way they want. You have the right to complain also don't get me wrong but nothing is promised to us when it comes to killer looks and design.

@Moxie said:
I don't care about her aesthetic as much as her power and perks.
Perks are very weak and underwhelming and Power is absolute dog-water.
Hopefully she gets MAJOR changes to Power before release.
I agree with you about her power but I don't think her perks are that bad. They are weak by themselves, yeah but when combined with other perks I think they will be kinda fun. Game Afoot I think to be fun with PWYF and Racor among other Obsession perks, Leverage I think be fun in anti-heal builds with sloppy and Coulrophobia, and as for THWACK! I think its a fine info perk. Overall I think they are fair and balanced perks. I don't mind them making super strong meta perks but those types of perks only end up being nerfed to the ground like eruption, ruin, pop, and thana.
-
I don't know why so many are so fixed on her looks tbh. I think she looks fine and I personally like her a lot. If anyone thought we were getting a terminator like killer based on the teaser then that's on you, not bhrv for getting your hopes up. Nothing in those teasers said she was going to be a cyborg or anything, it was just a skull with tech in it and that was referring to her drones. Plus if it bc she's not scary well DbD honestly has no "scary" killers. The game itself isn't scary at all lol.
Anyway the complaints about her power, on the other hand, are justified and I completely understand where ppl are coming from. It's really weak and does the thing everyone in the community hates and that is area control/denial. People only really want chase killers anymore and I just feel like those take a lot longer to make and balance, that's why we usually don't get that many killers like blight or Wesker. Maybe it's time for the devs to give up on the whole new killer every 3 months and force on a few killers a year. Personally, I'm still getting her because I like her looks and aesthetics, and I'm sure they find some ways to buff her in some ways. Even if the buffs are small I can find fun in any killer in the game. I even enjoy playing sakoko and knight :P
-
Im planning on getting the killer no matter what since I like her look and aesthetics. Her gameplay may not be the best, she may not be the next Wesker or blight but I'm sure I be able to find some fun in her like I did with knight. Also I really like her perks because they not super strong, they going to be fun in some builds I think.
I'm also going to get the female survivor because we'll...she hot. I really like her look and I think cut loose is going to be really good.
-
I love her myself and I don't think her power is all that bad. She seems like a setup killer like trapper and hag. For ppl who like those types of killers like Otz, I am happy we have another killer like that.

Totally different mechanics though. You're comparing peeling an apple to doing laundry. They aren't remotely the same thing. They should address BNPs, yes. And if BNPs prevented killers from playing the game for 25 seconds while also extending the game, they'd be just as problematic. But we're talking about sitting on generators in this instance, already the least interactive thing in the game. They don't want people sitting on generators for 130+ seconds at a time. As I said in another thread, you have prioritize certain things, because nothing will ever get done if you try to wait until you can fix every problem all at once.
Ok, now you making it sound I didn't want eruption nerfed, which if you ever look at my past posting I never once said it should not be nerfed. Yes, I agree incap wasn't fun for survivors and I believe it needs to be changed but the way they nerf eruption was to just nuke it to the ground so ppl would want to use it ever again. That is not good balancing or game design. We are talking about having fun here and killer's fun is just as important as survivors yet they have not shown a single once of instant in looking at BNPs, COH with green medkits, and so on. Right now they are only caring about survivor fun first and killer 2nd.
All I'm saying is there are unfun mechanics on both sides of the game but the dev recently has shown to only care about one side and not the other. What happened to the so-care twin rework we were promised a year ago? What about the trapper who is the worst killer in the game? Right now they are only forcing on the survivor and that's it while the killer has to wait for patch after patch for some kind of QoL change or anything.
Again I say it for the 100th time: YES eruption needed a nerf, and YES incap was a very unfun mech but nerfing a perk was completely and utterly useless is a stupid and lazy game design. Nerfing perks just bc they are overused but not problematic is also just as dumb and lazy design. If you defend these types of nerfs then you are not interested in actually balancing this game or having build variety.

There is only 1 other information perk that fills the niche Eruption does tho, and thats Infectious Fright. The reason why you'd take Eruption over it is simple, some killers with good snowballing capabilities don't have a large TR. The added slowdown is also pretty nice considering the rest of the gens you don't get an aura reveal from you now know will be regressing. Will it be the best regression perk? No. Will it be the best information perk? No. But its the only perk in the game that will fill that niche for a single perk slot.
As for basekit unbreakable making it weaker, more than likely yes. How ever a 45 second window is also a pretty large window and this perk will keep shining where it is now, which is in mid to late game.
This is of course all speculative, can't really make any real judgement yet since we don't have our hands on it. Reason why I'm trying to be optimistic is because everyone loves to act as if its the end of the world the moment they see a perk they've been crutching on is in the next Patch Notes or Dev Update (See DH and Pain Res)
I just say I agree to disagree bc I truly think its a dead perk and will offer no value to anyone other than an Oni who wants to slug. Even then I think slugging is just as unhealthy as the 25s incap effect since it's the same thing, you are left on the ground to do nothing for x amount of time. At the end of the day tho personally the change doesn't effect me bc I rarely ran Eruption in the first place. Last night I went through all my builds on all 30 killers I saw Eruption being used 3 times. I just replace it with overcharge, CoB, or Pop. I just don't like the fact a perk is being nuked just to make ppl stop using it.

I wouldn't get too focused on the balance aspect of it though. The devs are also considering the fun aspect of the game. It's a juggling act. With Ruin, PGTW, and Eruption, there was a common feeling of players feeling like they were on the same objective forever, often completing it twice when you factor in the regression. That's straight up unfun, and there should be healthier ways to introduce game delay mechanics. Thana was a bit different. The progress felt awful when everyone even when 3 people were injured at 90s gens. Again, balanced or not, it wasn't fun to play the game with it.
Well, I can tell you as a killer main who also plays some survivor, it isn't fun to hear 2 to 3 gens pop back to back in one single chase. Then in the result screen, you see BNP toolbox, hyperforce, and stakeout. There are a lot unfun things on both sides but right now it seems they only care about survivors' fun and that is it. Another thing that isn't fun is playing a hit-and-run killer just to see someone you just injured get healed in 8s. It is also not fun to snuff a CoH boon for the 5th time in a single match. As you see there a lot of things that not fun on the killer side also :P
-
Some of yall have made some good points about how Oni, and Artists could get used to the new Eruption. That said tho I think ppl are overlooking the fact it does encourage slugging, act survivors hate just as much as tunneling and camping. Remember they tested the base kit unbreakable just a few months ago in a PTB and if slugging goes up bc of an Eruption then I have no doubt in my mind they will go through with the whole base kit unbreakable. I still think Eruption is a useless perk and in the cases where it could be useful, it just encourages unhealthy gameplay in the form of slugging. I know for me as a killer main I HATE slugging, I don't like the feeling of leaving someone on the floor to bleed out or be picked up. I rather get my hook in and move one. Guess that's why Oni is one of my least fav killers.
-
It won't take two weeks but based on bhvr track record on nerfing overused and/or op perks they will at some point over nerf most of the killer best regression perks. Look at all the examples this past year: Ruin, Pop, Thana, and now eruption. Survivor perks are not safe either since the basely had killed some of theirs also (self care, calm sprit, and DS). I say the only perk that is safe from the nerf sledgehammer and that is DH. Since they rework it back in 6.1 it kept its usefulness and still is the num one most used perk for survivors. All we do is follow the pattern BHVR has shown us and they have shown us that instead of balancing perks so they are close in the power over each other they rather take a sledgehammer to the "meta"/overused perks.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I don't really see why they would do anything to those perks. None of them are even in the same stratosphere as Eruption in terms of problematic design. Pain Res can be frustrating when everyone is having bad chases, but it doesn't give killers all of their time back with zero counterplay and broken synergy like Eruption.
Eruption wasn't the only perk they completely gutted and killed off. They killed other less problematic perks before just because they had high pick rates. To name the few: Ruin, Pop, and Thana. Nothing was wrong with Ruin and Pop, in fact many would say Pop was the the most healthiest killer perk in the game. That didn't stop BHVR from completely gutting the perk in the 6.1 patch. Thana wasn't no where as strong as eruption, it was slightly overtuned due to the 90s gens. All they had to do though was revert it back to it's per 6.1 numbers and it would been fine but nope once again BHVR has to take a sledgehammer to the perk to keep ppl from using it. The devs have no interest in balancing perks. If a perk gets to popular or is too op instead balancing those perks they rather smash it into pieces so no one will ever use it again.
-
@Shroompy said:
Honestly I think this perk will be fine as is. Sure they nuked it, but literally any logical change would of been a nuke with how strong it was
I see Eruption working on killers that can snowball really well like Oni, Billy or Dredge. Dredge I can imagine will thrive with it since his snowball potential comes from Nightfall, which makes one of the best snowballing perks in the game Infectious Fright not work. This also goes for any killer with a shorter TR.
Eruption will definitely still have its place in the meta, it just wont be nearly as oppressive or irritating
I just personally disagree with your take. There are much better perks that give you better info than new eruption and also it just encourages slugging. We already know survivors hate being slugged and don't forget the base kit unbreakable change they tested in a PTB a while back can still happen. If that does happen then snowballing and Eruption's new 10s aura will completely be made useless. It's, in my opinion, the new Eruption will not have a place in the meta and honestly will not see any use at all due to the fact it's a bad regression perk and a bad info perk.
-
@Forza said:
i think eruption will still be a good perk if used with other gen kick perks but likely won't be good enough on its own.
I don't even think it will be that good to run with other kicking perks. You get more value running Pop+CoB+Overcharge than running eruption with any of those perks.
-
I know I won't be using it ever. The perk doesn't exist in my book. I don't like slugging on any killer so the info would never be useful plus when the basekit unbreakable happens even that part of the perk is going to die also. The 10% of the current is a joke and makes it worst than the current Pop so yeah Im not going to run it ever. Congrats BHVR you did what some whiny survivors mains wanted, you completely killed the big bad Eruption. Now killers have one less perk to choose from and just move on to the next best thing till that gets nerf when survivors complain about that also either CoB or PR.
Also want to go on the record I always thought Eruption needed a nerf but it didn't need to completely killed off....
-
@Xernoton said:
Eruption was unhealthy? Fair enough. It was unhealthy because everyone hated playing against it. Strengthwise it was definitely strong but not super overpowered. Does that remind you of something? Can't put my finger on it but I have a feeling there is another perk with similar issues on the survivors' side.
Also, if you want to make an argument about game health you should be the first to call out how bad this rework to Eruption is. 10s of aura reading that can only be useful when slugging doesn't sound too healthy to me. Then again, we all know how much survivors love to be left on the ground.
Yeah, I cant wait to see the posts about a nurse or blight slugging them to get value out of the 10s aura(if anyone will run eruption that is) Imo I rather see the damn perk deleted than see it be nerfed to the point where it's completely useless and only encourage slugging.
-
Two can play this game. No matter what survivors will complain about gen regression/slowdown perks :P You see both sides will always play the "us vs them" game. That's the state of a 4v1 game.

Tell me about all the other surv perks nerfed into the ground after the previous massive overhaul patch
I agree there were a lot of survivor perks that got gutted also. I never once argued that fact. I think what they did to DS, self-care, and calm spirit was just as dumb as the eruption nerf. I was just speaking from a killer pov since I mainly play killers but I completely agree on survivors have seen BHVR's way of nerfing perks. But there is one major outliner here between survivors and killer perk nerfs. Even though they both had a number of perks that just killed off bc of the overhaul patch only one of them kept their num one perk and that is DH. DH was "nerf" in that overhaul patch but it wasn't killed or gutted. It only made slightly weaker thanks to its rework. Is better to go against it now? Yes, it is. I would prefer going against today's DH anytime than the old DH but why can't killer have that same treatment for its num one perk? Why can survivors keep its toy but killer cant? Did the eruption need a change? Hell yes, it did but didn't need to be taken out back and shot.
The main problem with these meta shake-up patches is they really don't do anything other than replace the old meta with a new meta. By nerfing things into the ground and buffing weaker perks all you doing is removing choose and that is what most of us want. I want all the perks both on the survivor and killer sides to be as close in power as possible so can easily choose the perk you like the most and get the same value for it. As it is now there is no more variety than it was before. You still see killers and survivors running the same 4 perks every game. The only different between now and pre-6.1 is those same 4 perks were switch for 4 different peks but there still is any variety,

It will still be useful.
If you have to rely solely on perks to have a good match, perhaps ask yourself what can you do or learn to be a better killer or suggest an improvement for the killer you play.
For months, I was seeing posts about the perk being "overpowered". Devs listened and now "oh but why are you nerfing the only good perk"
Hahaha, It still is useful, oh plz XD It's going to be outshined by better regression perks and info perks. 10% current is nothing! Pop is 20% of the current and we saw how that worked out for it. It has been completely abandoned and hardly used by killers. Pop wasn't even an unhealthy perk when it got nerfed to the ground. You be better off running jolt, pain res, or COB+Over than the new eruption.
As for the info part, it's just as bad. 10s of aura after a down is useless. You don't need that info when you down someone in the first place unless you are a slugging nurse or blight. We all know survivors just love going against nurses and blights and being left on the ground to bleed out. That is so much FUN!
Ppl aren't upset that it got nerfed, we're upset it getting completely gutted and made useless. It went from the overpower regression perk that wasn't fun to go against to one of the weakest regression and info perks in the game. No one will ever run it again just like they don't run ruin, and pop anymore. On top of that, we most likely see COB or Pain res get the same treatment in the future bc survivors are going to flood the forums with posts like "Pain res is so boring to play against", "I'm tired of seeing COB every match plz nerf". Survivors will complain about any regression no matter what bc they hate seeing killers run those types of perks. The regression perk can be the fairest perk in the game but ppl will still try to get it to nerf bc they think it is unfun to play against in every match. Well, I'm tired of seeing Hyperforce builds and 4 DHS every match but you don't see me whining about it on here all the time.
Anyway, I leave this post off with is pic bc it sums up BHVR's way of nerfing killer perks to a T.

What? I was agreeing it's bad aura reading. It's good only if you're in a position to slug (and want to slug), and can get over to the gen within 10s (actually, get over to where the Survivors have run off to after screaming on the gen), and if you kicked the gen first, and if Survivors were now on that gen.
In other words, it only gives you aura reading if you set it up in an endgame scenario where you can predict which gens people are on anyway, and the aura reading it gives is horribly timed and not useful. And only viable with slugging.
I'm so sorry! I quote the wrong post! I meant to reply to the one above you(damn phone) Again Im really sorry. My mistake.

"Block the gen instead of giving incapacitated" wowzr so instead of staring at nothing because of incapacitated we can stare at nothing because the gen is blocked, or do a totem because that's useful. As if we didn't have already DMS and deadlock that block gens long enough
"Nerf incapacitated but buff the regression" because we totally need more regression, as if we don't have enough synergic slowdowns. I really loved back then getting my gen regressed 40% because of pr+pop. Such a fun mechanic
The aura reveal isn't even bad. Killers with high mobility and slugging killers can make a really good use of it (plague, oni?)

So you want more slugging to happen? I'm sure survivors going to absolutely love being left on the ground with nothing to do other than to bleed out and die from boredom. 10s of aura after downing someone is absolute garbage bc it's gives you info when you don't even need that info. There very few killer who can make use of this information and even then there much better info perks like BBQ, and flood of rage that both encourage killers to hook survivors and give info when you need it the most. New eruption is going to be the wrost regression perk and the wrost info perk in the game.

Doubt it. Pain Res has a counter, that's why no one complains about it.
Before 6.1 it was totally complicated about almost all the time since PR+DMS was so common pre 6.1. The only reason you don't see ppl complaining about now is because eruption and gen kicking meta took over. Ppl moved from complaining about pain res+DMS to Eruption and the other gen kicking perks. Now eruption been taken out back and shot in the head ppl will go back to complaining about PR+DMS. When that happens and you can quote me on this, it will receive the same treatment that ruin, pop, thana, and now Eruption has gotten. Completely gutted and killed off.

they already did lol, what would you like for them to make DH a .1 second window to take a hit or just delete it from the game?
The perk already got nerfed and its more balanced now. its usage was reduced plenty by like 60%+ no more I-frames or distance. At this point it seems killers want the perk to be deleted from the game.
Mmm almost like how most survivor wanted eruption to be just deleted. The only difference is survivors got their way.

I don't think people are complaining about there being a meta but more about perk variety
I'm 100% fine with Eruption getting the nerf it needed but that doesn't mean i never want to take it again which with these changes it might be the case.
I do agree we should wait untill the ptb and look how it goes but 10 seconds aura reading on a gen that could be far away when you just downed a survivor and are ready to hook doesn't sound good in theory...
Even high mobility killers like nurse and blight are going to struggle to make that work, I feel like the mayority of the time the info of the aura you're getting will be that the survivor is indeed sticking to the gen
You know what i want to see, add a terror radius to the gen that just got erupted, we don't have enough terror radius shenanigens. That would atleast make it fun
I really like that idea tbh. Make it like Dark devotion but for gens. That at least add some fun plays into the mix instead of boring aura reading that is completely useless most of the time. To bad the devs don't take ours or even their own fogwhipers advise on changes most the time :-/

It doesn't matter what role you're playing if you have to have a perk and feel like you can't play without it then that's a skill issue not a balance issue, I'm constantly messing with builds I'm nowhere near the best at either role but I know I'm decent and if I can do it and still have positive win rates on both sides then anyone else could too it's really not like this game takes a great deal of brainpower or skill to begin with if we're being honest about it, it's quite laughable people want to be so competitive like it's a skilled game compared to the other great games in the world
Did I ever say anything about the perk of caring ppl or ppl feeling they have to have it? I even said in my post if you bother reading it that I personally very rarely used the perk and rather use other regression perks. The thing is yes a park shouldn't care ppl but a perk shouldn't be completely useless either. Erupion now might as well be deleted from the game bc it's not worth running no matter your skill level. It didn't need to be gutted to the point where it's a bad regression perk and a bad info perk. It's worst than pop now so why run it over pop or any other regression perk and its worst than most info perks bc it gives you info when you don't need it(downing a survivor). The time it takes you to pick up and hook the survivor that 10s of info is useless bc either the gen gets completed or the survivors move to another part of the map. The only killers who could use this info be blight or nurse but even then it will encourage slugging and everyone knows survivors just love being left on the ground. Did eruption need a nerf? Yes, it was way too powerful in its current state but it didn't need this type of nerf. A nerf that makes it a worst pop or worst IF.

plenty of perks have downsides, its called balancing, nice of you to strawman my position.
For example look at all the perks that were nerfed for survivor and even ones that were not nerfed; they have downsides. Every exhaustion perk, after used exhausts you and can't be reused until 40 seconds of walking or a hook state.
Iron will, suppresses grunts of pain until you're exhausted then it deactivates.
Deliverance lets you unhook yourself only AFTER unhooking someone safely and even after unhooking you're broken for a minute straight and cannot heal.
Compare those downsides to eruptions only downside is its cooldown which is gone by the time you hook someone and return to the gen because its so short.
There is countless examples I could use to make my point, the "downside" is for balancing. Eruptions downside is minimal and rewards and ease of use are tremendous.
Are you saying no perks should have any downsides on either side or only survivor perks should have downsides?
No Deepwound or exhaustion for Dead hard?
No broken for deliverance?
Iron Will works no matter what?
DS and Off The Record don't deactivate after conspicuous actions or the last gen pop?
No deep wound for Off The Record?
I bet you'd say all of that would be OP if thats how those perks functioned.
But you and other killer mains don't seem to want to admit that Eruption is overtuned in its current state.
Ok did I ever say Eruption wasnt overtuned in its current state? Now you just putting words in my mouth. Look back at my posts and you see that I always said it needed to be nerfed a little or reworked. The problem is they didn't just rework or nerf eruption, they completely gutted it. There were so many ways they could balance eruption without making it completely useless as both a regression perk and an info perk. Also balancing survivor perks and killer perks is completely different. Survivors in total get 16 perks to use in a match where the killer only gets four perks. So comparing the two is completely dumb. Also, I never said anything about survivor perks in my post. This is about the eruption and nothing other than eruption. We can talk survivor perks another day.

The fact that the community is up in arms and acting like they can't live without it makes me happy it's getting nerfed, when you have to rely on a perk every game thats a skill issue if you cant play without it , the killer role is still in the best place it's ever been out of the entire existence of this game and nobody can prove otherwise whenever you go back a couple years and you could have two survivors with BNP that actually popped gens in like 10 secs each then the other two with insta heals that could run up as soon as you downed someone and pick them up to full health from dead and restart everything from scratch people don't realize that anyone that was here before has dealt with way worse conditions and most of us are thankful for the amount of changes over the years that have made it easier to play killer, instead of being old trapper with all your traps and hooks sabo'd in the beginning of the game and having nothing but basement the WHOLE game hopefully being lucky enough to have iron grasp on so you have a chance.
Ppl are upset bc yet again a perk is over nerfed and not balanced. I'm personally upset not because eruption getting nerf(I didn't even use it all that often to begin with. I'm more of a pain res, jolt and deadlock fan) but BVHR once again choice the easy and safe route when nerfing a overused or op perk. Instead just fixing the main problem of the perk they decided just to take it out back and put two in its head. Eruption now joins pop, ruin, and thana as perks that are completely useless and never be used again. Killers again has one less thing to choice from and will just use the next meta build till they decide to nerf that to the ground also.

Perk most definitely needs to be gutted; as of rn its basically, Pain Res, DMS, and Infectious fright all combined into one perk.
The perk had zero downsides and is easy to use with a very short cooldown, with little to no counterplay. The change BHVR made still offers slowdown but the perk won't be overtuned, especially because killers tend to run multiple slowdowns.
Why would a perk need a downside to begin with? What do you want every perk to be like dying light that actually buff a survivor more than it debuffs the other three?
The slowdown this perk offer now is wrost than most of the other perks. You get whole alot more value running jolt now over new eruption since you don't have to take the time to kick a gen and it will do more damage. Why run eruption over infectious fight if you want to snowball when infectious allows you to locate a survivor near by instead of being on the other side of the map.
Gutting a perk instead of actually balancing it isn't good game design. It's lazy game design and does nothing to offer build variety. All it does is virtually deleting the perk and killers just move to the next best perk. Enjoy seeing PR+DMS in every match. I'm sure ppl will complain about how that is boring and those perks will be gutted just like pop, ruin, overcharge, and thana.

Just because a perk is used a lot does not mean it needs to be nerfed. See self care. By that logic pain res and call of brine should be nerfed because I see them in nearly all my games as survivor.
I think dead hare is mostly fine maybe a small nerf to make it more balanced but nothing major. Let's not make a survivor perk completely useless and bad (like calm Spirit and pharmacy)
If you really want a meta shake up buff terrible perks instead of nerfing strong ones.
Trust me Pain res + DMS will being nerfed next now they be the num one perks for killers. The devs love killing killers perks bc the overused. Look at Pop/Ruin, those perks was never op or unfair but they got gutted.

Uhm... I can't be the only one, who realizes how insanely ######### this perk is gonna be? Game health? This PROMOTES slugging. I thought slugging was such a bad thing that we wanted to make less prominent? Seems I was wrong, then. Can't wait for base kit UB as well to make that perk entirely pointless.
Even then this perk is awful. It is a weaker version of Infectious Fright. I do not need 10s of aura vision on a survivor that works on a gen across the map. I do not need 10s of aura vision on a survivor that will be over after I hooked the one I just downed. Keep in mind this only works on gens you kicked. The regress is pretty meh and easily overshadowed by Jolt because you don't need to kick the gen in the first place.
I didn't use Eruption before but this is ridiculous. The 10s aura reading are great in theory but that's about it. Have fun kicking gens to get a meaningless regress and an aura on a survivor that you can only use effectively, if you commit to slugging.
There is a difference between nerfing a perk and making it pointless. This fits the latter pretty well imo.
Agreed on the slugging part. Can't wait to see the survivors who are happy about this nerf come in complaining about how a blight or a nurse slug them so they can get value out of the 10s aura reading.
-
Love that some of these ppl don't actually want balance and are just happy to see a perk is dead. A perk being useless is not a good thing. Its poor balancing will only cause problems down the line. The devs took the easy way out as they always have when balancing killer perks/addons. Perk is op, complain a lot about, or is over used = gut the perk and call it a day.

At that time PR was nerfed. It was quite strong as a perk. Now it is in such a good spot.
As I mentioned, if there are some people crying about PR it will be because they don’t have much experience in the game, like the occasional post about Windows of Opporunity shows.
Not really? PR was nerfed yes in 6.1 but all they did was remove the Noise Notification and the scream then. Then later they added the scream back in so I say the perk is in the same state as it was pre 6.1. Yeah doesn't have the noise notification but when run with DMS you don't need the noise notification. People complained about the DMS+PR combo back then. Even if ppl dont complain about it still will be nerfed based on pick rates bc the dev has shown they nerf killers' perks and addon base that also. Ruin/Pop was a fair perks but was nerfed/gutted just bc they were used too much. Twins and Nemmy's best addons were fair but were nerfed bc they were also used too much. The nerf perks/addon are based on pick rates and complaints. What is even worst is they gut these things instead of trying to find a balance.

@Omans said:
Eruption created arguably the least fun meta the game has ever seen. In no way was the meta 'varied' as you said. It was easily in the top 5 of OP perks ever made.
It being absolutely destroyed like this is not a big deal. In fact, it is a shame it took so long to nerf it. It ruined countless games while being active from when it was buffed until now.
There are hundreds of perks in the game. You'll get over it. You never used it before, and you'll be completely fine never using it again (undoubtedly changing all your loadouts to have the next best perk).
And you are completely wrong about Pain Resonance. There will be no outcry for it to be nerfed because it feels fair to use and is not completely busted like Eruption. Or, if there is the occasional post about it, it will be like Windows of Opporunity posts (the people who complain about it are complete noobs).
So yeah, did they nerf it too hard? Yeah. Is it a big deal? Not even a little bit.
Completely unsurprising topic from this poster, though.
PR complained about a lot before the eruption buff. Well PR+DMS complained about a lot. Now eruption is gone you see it come back in the forums bc 90% of killers will have PR+DMS since it's the next-best perk combo. When that happens you see survivors come on here and say things like "PR+DMS is so boring", "They need to nerf PR+DMS!" and so on. When that happens the devs do what they always do with overused killer perks/addons. They nerf them to the ground so no killer will run it again.
-
@Volcz said:
Just happy the incap is gone. That was what bothered most people. Curious to see what everyone starts running since they can't rely on Eruption anymore.
They start running PR and DMS. More M1 Killers will most likely run jolt also. If you want to run a gen-kicking build I say the go-to build will be Nowhere to Hide, CoD, Overcharge, and maybe Pop.
Mark my words tho most killers will run PR + DMS and when they do you see survivors flooding the forums how boring it is to go against a PR+DMS killer and then the dev will nerf that into the ground just like they did with so many others overused killer perks. You may say they won't bc PR+DMS is fair but the devs don't care about fairness. They care about making sure survivors are happy and things are not overused. Look at other fair perks and add-ons that end up getting nerfed bc their pick rates were too high and perks that were complained about a lot. Twins addon, Nemmy addons, Ruin, Pop, Overcharge, and Thana. Some Twin and Nemmy addons were nerfed bc they were used way too much not bc they were OP. Ruin/Pop was very fair before 6.1 but was nerfed/gutted bc they wanted to "shake up" the meta. Thana buff was overturned combined with the gen time increase but instead of taking it back down to it pre 6.1 numbers they just nerf it to the worst state. Overcharge was buff but in the PTB it was too much when used with CoB so they nerfed it before it went live. Now you have to use it with CoB to make it somewhat decent.
