It is a real grind, I have like 11 P3-50 Killers now, it takes a long time to get there. Funny enough, im only devotion 2 prestiged 5. So I thought that was weird... since its so low for so many P3-50 Killers.
It's such a huge grind that I only have 1 survivor, and 1 killer prestige 3 level 50. That's Michael and Laurie Strode. I can't imagine doing it for multiple characters. Getting everyone to level 40 felt like a massive grind to me. And I've only done that on the survivor side! (Mostly because I generally only play with Licensed killers.)
But your devotion is a lot higher than mine is being at what I call level 502. Mine is 305 I think right now, could be mistaken...but I played on PC, and also now have it on Switch as well. Not sure on devotion for PC, but it says I've played it for at least a 100 hours.
-
Thanks for the share, I've only P3'd my boy Myers, but I'm tempted for Demogorgon. The grind is just so massive, for no real payoff I feel like. But the blood might make him...stealthier! As he is stomping his way to devour his victims right?
-
Truly professional matchmaking. Nom nom nom
-
I've been playing Demogorgon through most of these Double Blood Points. Honestly...I don't think they should start activated. It's just way too much to just be able to drop a portal, and if survivors go near the gen, you'll basically know right away unless you are too invested in a chase. Even if you lose the survivor when you've run back it takes hardly any time at all to just set another one.
What I would like though, is maybe make one of his ultra Rare add-ons the ability to set active portals. But perhaps slow the recharge rate of his ability to teleport slightly, or reduce the number of portals that he can place.
The stealth mechanic is pretty meh tbh, to me even when you stack the highest rarity add-ons for it, it doesn't last long enough to be worth it, especially with how loud Demo is.
-
I tried it, it was really tough to get the initial heal in most of the games going. Someone would always self care just a little bit, or a teammate would come help out with the heal and deny its activation. It also was probably bugged (They might have fixed it) Where you couldn't heal one person to 50%, and then another to 50%. So it had to be a 100% solo heal.
It would be easier with SWF to use though.

I think with how the SWF algorithm changed, its taking longer to get lobby's now. If you solo'ed it'd take way less time.
At least for me it did when I switched over to Survivor for a few matches.
Most likely, I haven't actually played solo survivor in a good while. Besides like once or twice when Steve came out. First game I played I died on the first hook when the killer wasn't even camping me...so I said f dat lol.
Generally if I'm alone I play killer, if I'm survivor I like playing with friends. It's more enjoyable that way. At least it was, now it just takes so long, and with the bugs to go along with it, it's just almost not worth it.

Dude i love that you're going full child with this and making assumptions about someone because they disagree with you. Very very funny.
You are acting like I insulted the guy or something? Why because I said that he sounds like he wants everyone to be in the git gud status before playing with one another?

Because its the Blood Hunt event and a lot more people are on Killer at the moment. Which is increasing the queue times unfortunately.
Last Night was the worst experience trying to find games for me. I was in a full stack of SWF, mostly just looking to have fun and farm. We are deff not optimal. But we waited literally over an hour and 30 just trying to get a game as survivor. I said screw this after that and went to bed. It was crazy....playing killer I've gotten most lobbies in about 5 minutes.
-
Personally I'd like Double Blood Points to be base, instead of an event. Too many perks to get and prestiges for tons of characters for the standard amount of blood points we do have.
But most of my event it hasn't been all that bad. Outside of a Ghostface who I couldn't break out of stealth smacking me as survivor with his insta down. And then camping me and tunneling me when no one had Borrowed time, and I didn't have decisive.
-
Last time I tried playing it took 20 minutes + to find a game and the lobbies it entered the timer wouldn't drop so it was bugged, another the killer obviously left. We spent an hour waiting in match making for one game. We are generally patient...but there is a limit.

So far I feel the diagonal slowdown has been the biggest problem for me. I am a survivor of Dark Souls' Blighttown on PS3 and the N64 so framerate doesn't bother me (as Survivor), not being able to loop properly, gets me downed when I shouldn't have been.
Sadly I can only use wifi and I've been finding connections much better here than on PS4, less hits from down the street. Those Ruin skill checks tho...Played 40 games so far as Survivor and 10 of them were Hags.
Overall, it's definitely playable and still fun but I am eagerly awaiting optimization.
To be fair the Diagonal slow down seems to effect the killer side as well, but it's far more noticeable as a survivor to me. I was around for the original ps4 launch...the game felt very similar to now, maybe not quite as bad, but it certainly wasn't optimized like it is now. I can get used to it, I just have a lot of trouble in chases, as both survivor and killer. Those frames sometimes make it difficult to track a survivor.
Wifi is what most are on using Switch, it's not like it has a dedicated ethernet port on the console. But yeah Hag...matches are horrible, ruin is just way too difficult to hit with the thing skipping while it rotates.
I did have some enjoyable games playing as Demogorgon though.
-
My opinion not based on any sort of fact, just my observations playing the game, and watching others.
Solo survivors vs killer = Completely and utterly Killer sided. They have no communication. No coordination. They either allow someone on hook to die, or go to tier 2 quite often, or simply waste time going for the rescue when someone else has it. When someone is in a chase no one even knows unless it's the obsession, or someone gets hit. And if they hear the heart beat during this chase survivors or more likely to hide than work on gens. Lots of factors lead to this being killer sided. I believe BHVR at one point said that solo survivors lived like 10-20% of the time or something? It was a while back but it was a pathetically low number even if it included the entire spectrum.
Basic Full SWF = Even. These are the SWF that are grouped up, looking to play and survive and mess around. Maybe they might be a little toxic, but they are just having fun together. They are not super optimal, probably are overly altruistic. Don't have the coordination to just wreck a killer. But if the killer isn't on their toes they got a decent chance of escaping.
Full Optimal Try Hard Survivors = Survivor sided. If they go in with 4 insta heals, or perhaps two insta heals and strong tool boxes. Are super coordinated, know how to loop, and are very good at mind games. They will more than likely win without you playing a top tier.
Killer Try Hard = I personally believe this tops the Try Hard Survivors. This is something like Ebony Mori, Very rare/Ultra Rare add-ons, top tier perks. You can probably win against survivors with even a lower tier killer, but you can go over bored if you pick Nurse.
And that's my thoughts on killers vs survivors. Killers to me ultimately have the upper hand at the highest levels when they stick their best add-ons/ebony moris on, but most of the time it's the Basic SWF that they are facing. Which imo makes the majority of the games pretty even.
-
Obviously Steve has the best outfit....Scoops Ahoy can't be beat by any character!
Secondary pick for me would be Feng
Third would be Kate, because leather is always nice, and so is most of her other pair of jeans. lol
-
It's buggy, when you are moving in diagnals it slows you down, frame rate is frankly really bad compared to pc or ps4. Demogorgon doesn't shred pallets yet. Like on the ptb the dedicated servers = you getting slapped when you were way ahead of the killer throwing down or vaulting pallets. You also will have the most difficult time ever hitting ruin skill checks.
Other than this. It's not horrible. With more polish it could be half way decent.
-
Oof guess thats the new match making at work huh? lol

Well to be fair, an event is a change of pace. People should stop thinking about playing optimally and enjoy it!
To be fair it basically was just fine this flower and hold M1/R1 like it was a totem that took just a little bit more than a gen to do, and survivors were fighting for it. Put 3 or 4 of them on a map. And basically no one does any escape objectives. And everyones getting thrashed by the killer. So it's really not entertaining for the survivor. But the killers just slaughtered everyone because they got their points for the event for killing. You didn't even need ruin, or to slow the game down just a lil bit. Everyone just died. I 4k'd every game as killer, and died every game as survivor. Really was just a meh event to me. Hopefully they can do better this year.
-
I'd love Chucky, The entity could break the pallets and carry the survivors.
But umm...probably Jeepers Creepers monster thing. Never seen the movie, and now I don't want to. Alternatively, I wouldn't want to see the Predator, or the Alien. I find neither to be scary, or all that interesting.

If a killer is not red ranks, they should not be going up against multiple red ranks without any input.
At least in the latter case, the decision to lopside things against them is entirely in the hands of the Survivors, whereas in other cases, things could be turned against the Killer's favor and the Killer would have no say in the matter.
Yeah and that's where I don't agree with you. You seem to automatically assume that a red rank survivor auto wins even against a killer who is just a level behind hitting red ranks themselves. Like a red rank survivor can actually bully a rank 5 or 6 the same way they could a rank 20. While also having a rank 8 and rank 12 in the same game that are not as adept as the other two. Balancing the scales you know.
But hey you seem to be the type who really must hate people playing together, until they've all been placed in the git gud status category. Which I think is terribly unhealthy for the game as a whole. And is even worse for trying to convince newer players to try the game out. But you know that killer though, poor him. He had ranks averaged out to match his own rank, oh the unbalanced.
Like I said we are not going to see eye to eye. So I suggest we drop it. You flat out disagree with me, and I flat out disagree with you. And I doubt either of us can change the others mind.
-
Doesn't make me feel anything either, besides maybe a slight annoyance if I chased after someone else, and hooked someone and just happened to down them a second time and it was still active. But most of the time I shouldn't have tunneled, maybe I needed the down, but hey I know how it feels to get tunneled and it isn't fun, so I don't really care.
Now old DS where it was just free at any pick up point that annoyed me.

Not to me. If two players are properly ranked against the Killer, that is closer in balance than zero players being properly ranked. In an ideal world, everyone would be close together, but that is not reality.
If a 4, 8 and 12 band together, what you would end up with is another red ranker taking up the fourth slot and going up against a red rank Killer. That way, two Survivors are properly equipped to handle the Killer, one is kinda under the mark but can still get there, and the last is the one trailing behind. With what you are suggesting, the game becomes a crapshoot because there is no consistency at all between any of the Survivors vs the Killer rather than some consistency at the top end.
So let me get this straight, another red ranker joins the lobby, and the killer is now averaged at about rank 5-6. You think they have no chance against them? And balance is all over the place and is a crap shoot? Rank 5-6 killer can't handle it because suddenly there are 2 red ranks, while the other two are at 8 and 12?
Yet you think the current system that they've implemented, where a red rank survivor will automatically bring in a red rank killer regardless of where the other teammates are at is balanced? Jeez... We are definitely never going to see eye to eye on this.

That to me is not balance; it is just extremely swingy. If the Killer runs into one of the low ranks, they likely steamroll the Survivor and snowball out of control. If they run into one the high ranks, they likely get completely clobbered while the Survivors run away with the game. The outcome of the game almost absolutely depends entirely on who the Killer happens to run into. That's just a hot mess waiting to happen.
As I said that was an extreme case and not the norm. And it's far better than now having 2 red rank survivors, and 2 rank 20's facing off against a red rank killer. How is this balance. It's completely killer sided to the extreme. The 20's are gonna get creamed, and the red ranks aren't going to be able to help carry the burden that is the rank 20's. So this is far less balanced.
But as I said 20's and 1's are not going to be the norm. it's going to be red and purples, perhaps playing with a rank 12 or something, averaging it out there is your balance. Here example, 4, 8, and 12. These are the ranks of the survivors. Match making should look at that, and produce a killer around 6-9 depending on how high ranked the extra survivor is. This is optimal balance.

So you are working for the entity as well... Mr_K and XCheeseMongrolx trying to make people commit suicide on their second hook to get taken to the entity....I see your game plan now....

No i sit and wait for someone to save me and i don't even touch my phone while playing the most I'd do while hooked is take a sip of water
Exactly, no ones going to leave on their second hook either. As soon as they are going to be unhooked they grab their controller and start playing. Also this is like the 100th thread asking for this to be changed, majority seem to want it changed, while a small minority are like it makes me more immersed. And I'm just like how...? You feel scared knowing that if you a lag spike hits you'll die unintentionally, perhaps your thumb slips if your on console you'll accidentally die? Oh man that immersion.
It probably won't be changed, but personally they should just make it an option in the menu's so people who like mashing buttons can mash away, and those who don't it will just automatically work.

Do you walk away when you get your first hook? I'm curious about this...

If matchmaking pairs super low ranks and super high ranks against a midrank, that isn't balance. That is players from all across the spectrum being paired together. No one Survivor is suited to be fairly matched up against the Killer.
To me that is balance, two rank 1's and two rank 20's go up against a rank 10 killer. The rank 10 killer has some experience under their belt, and has a some what decent grasp of the game. They have the potential to catch the rank 1's, or even the potential to completely steam roll if they happen to go after the rank 20's. They could also get steam rolled themselves if they keep going for bad chases against the rank 1's who are looping them. Luckily at rank 10 they should have some concept of knowing when to look for weaker survivors. I think that's balanced, though usually it isn't as extreme as rank 1 survivors paired with rank 20. It's more like red ranks, with a rank 12 or something, which would put the killer in purple rank territory.
Last few weeks didn't give a crap about match making at all, it didn't even base matches off the highest rank, How is it when the highest survivor is rank 13, they give us a rank 20 killer? I should have just taken screenshots of every messed up match making that we had during these last few weeks to show how terrible it was on both sides killer, and survivors.

Yeah its not an issue i kinda like it it keeps me on my toes and helps me remember that im not dead yet and the fight isn't over
I'd remove it in a heartbeat. It does nothing to keep me on my toes, I don't need to mash a button to tell me the fight isn't over yet either. Accidental deaths are still frustrating even if it's rare. And also if I'm gonna sit on a hook, I would like to be able to grab a bite to eat, look at my phone, or maybe something simple like petting my cat without having to worry about am I hitting this button enough times to not get killed accidentally.
-
@Xcheesemongrolx said:

Its not really an issue but i think they should change it maybe make it like one or two skill checks or something different but you don't even have to press that hard i hear some people break there keyboard/controller mashing it when you can just press it at a medium speed and you'll live
I mean yeah you usually don't have to press it that hard, but if you are not and the game has a lag spike or something, it will kill you. So pressing it faster is safer. It's rare of course, I've only been killed by it accidentally like 6 or 7 times maybe in like 2000 hours or so? Though it did happen recently in my first match as Steve, it also happened to a friend while we were playing....though we kind of laughed it off and called him a rage quitter.
-
Man the messed up match making from the last few weeks got everyone messed up. When I SWF'd, me being rank 1, and my friend being rank 4. We got a rank 20, level 1 Dwight who had no perks and didn't know how to run from match making. The match making was just completely messed up SWF or not.
Instead of fixing it so it actually used the average, they just punished players who wanted to play with friends. Imagine you tell this person how fun DBD is, they buy it. Who do you think they want to play with? Their friend, or solo it out and git gud? Most of those players don't stick around to git gud, they want to have fun with their friends.
If they actually fixed using the average, instead of just throwing people where ever, we wouldn't have rank 20 killers facing off against red or even purple ranks. Or now Survivors who are new trying it out with their friends, I know a concept people have trouble with. They are being thrown at red or purple ranks, and getting demolished.
Killers may have had to deal with it worse, even if I'd argue there was bs on the survivor side due to the poor match making as well. Killers are lone wolfs, they are not playing for anyone else but themselves. And like it or not, DBD is a party game, match making should be balanced so everyone regardless of rank can find it enjoyable. Not putting red rank survivors against rank 20 killers, and not placing rank 20 survivors against red rank killers.
-
I find it hilarious, watching all these new players on Switch accidentally dying on their first hook because not only do they not know it's a miserable 4% chance to get off the hook, right after it is a button mashing mini game, that they were not prepared for.
It really should be changed, but they won't mess with it I don't think. 3 years, lots of complaints, accidental deaths, and people committing suicide from it. And they haven't done anything to address it, or even acknowledge it as an issue.
-
No it should be balanced around the average, also it takes like 20-30 minutes to find a lobby, and even when you do the lobby it joins is usually bugged, or the killer leaves. Yesterday after the update it literally took over an over before we could even find 1 game. We pretty much needed another game to play while we waited it was ridiculous.
-
Truly we were to blame for a rank 20 killer.
-
I think it's a bandaid fix and not really a good one. I'm rank 1, I can hang at red ranks, my buddy who is rank 12 cannot do a ruin skill check to save their life, and dies in chases against red ranks near instantly.
Their match making system was busted before that's for sure though. I'm SWF with just one other person, both of us in red ranks, and the random survivor we get is a rank 20, level 1 Dwight who doesn't know how to even run. Obviously he got wrecked walking in chases. Another game we are a 4 man swf group, red and purple ranks, and the killer is rank 20, and has no idea what they are doing.
Then there is games I go in solo, and every survivor is green ranks, while I'm in red. The match making is clearly busted and I don't think matching swf groups based on lowest rank is the answer. Basing it on the average and actually basing it on the average is a different story. If there is a two rank 1's, and two rank 20's. The Killer Average should be around 10. Two ridiculously weak players, and two strong players. Thing is match making wasn't doing that. Even when SWF in low ranks. Rank 4, and rank 12, don't equate to rank 20 killer using the median.
-
I'd love a Pennywise chapter. It would also bring in fans of the It movies in and would be an excellent addition. The more people who join the game, the more players we will have which is never a bad thing.
The entity feeds on the survivors fear, and dread, as well as that moment when they lose all hope. Pennywise also feeds on fear, so he can fit within the verse.
As for his powers there is tons they could do with it, from shape shifting, hallucinations, and tricks with Balloons!
-
I'm on the opposite end, I like the Licensed characters generally a great deal more than the originals. I mean I don't mind original characters either. I just have more fun being chased by Myers and hearing his chase music. Or using Scoops Ahoy Steve, as a survivor.
Reading a few paragraphs of lore on a killer or survivor generally doesn't do a ton for me. But watching like 10 Halloween movies featuring The Shape, or a ton of movies having Freddy Kreuger, or the Show Stranger Things etc. Makes me far more attached.
After enough time passes I can get attached to the Original Characters of course. Feng Min is my main. Originally I didn't like Dwight but he grew on me...probably because of the memes. Kate is cute. I liked Legion because they kind of reminded me of Ghostface. And While I don't play any of the original killers besides Legion I can enjoy facing them in a match... even if I find alot of them to be annoying to face...Hillbilly, Spirit, Nurse, Hag, Trapper. Some are stronger than others but they each bug me in some way. Which doesn't help I don't think with me feeling like I enjoy playing against the licensed characters more.
-
It's a really really strong perk...but as stated the more people who run it the worse it becomes. You'll be lucky if you can get one when everyone is totem hunting to get that heal. But it is pretty ridiculous when it does go off.
-
Probably Myers for me, most of the other killers I don't know their strengths and weaknesses. Myers I know he is basically super human in terms of strength and durability.
Demogorgon wouldn't be bad either. Maybe hillbilly could chainsaw charge away while I'm on his back! I don't even think the nurse could catch up right?
-
I prefer Balanced Landing...it just creates so many loops on a lot of different maps allowing me to extend the chase far greater than if I had Dead Hard. It is map dependent however which is it's main draw back. But most maps have at least one place for it to be useful, and it's usually very strong there.
-
I think it depends on the situation. But for me if I'm fully healed, I'll probably go for the save. If I'm next to someone and both of us are injured. I might go for a healing session just so we don't end up having 3 of us potentially slugged.
But, if I'm close enough I'll go for the save even if injured. Depends on where I'm at on the map.

There's a line between countering and straight up preventing, though. Counters help against something, not prevent it. Ideally, you should have one of your perks completely negated just because someone else brought a perk.
You don't have to answer if you don't but I thought I'd ask if you think that it's strong enough at 3 seconds exhaustion? And if you thought 15 seconds exhaustion would be too much of a....Mind BREAKER!
-
uhh...I'm rank 1, and in a group with someone who was rank 4, it gave us a rank 20 survivor...who was a level 1 Dwight. That Dwight didn't even know how to run and died almost immediately. Barely even 1000 points on his end.
The match making is busted for sure, it's not really SWF that are the problem right now. Also I think they should take everyone and try to find an average. A new player wanting to play with their friends getting bodied by a rank 1 killer isn't a fun experience for them either.
-
When they add shirtless Myers...and make it $20 dlc....and for some reason I still buy it.

It's designed for stealth killers to counter sprint burst. That's it.
That is why I suggested 15 seconds, long enough so non-stealth killers can catch up, and it will hurt more than just sprint burst users (It's one of the weakest exhaustion perks already imo. Now it's just wait for 3 seconds as the killer starts to come and book it. However after 15 seconds you'll be near forced to run because they will have already caught up with you, especially if you've been seen in the distance already. And it will counter all exhaustion perks, unless they want to take a hit before the chase starts while trying to walk or urban away. This includes Balanced Landing, Lithe, Sprint Burst, and even Dead Hard.
-
Meh they should just extend the duration to 15 seconds of exhaustion instead of, what is it 3 seconds? This means that survivor has to get off the gen much sooner if they want to use an exhaustion perk in a chase before getting slapped. Right now survivors just see the killer coming and casually walk away for a few seconds and are ready to start sprinting before the killer even gets close to hitting them. With 15 seconds they would have far more time to get that first hit, which is what this seems to be designed for.

I've told myself to lay off the fashion, that includes league skins, dbd skins and buying survivors that I won't constantly play/don't have perks I need.
If you don't like Steve I understand. But I've got every perk for survivors unlocked in bloodweb with the exception of Nancy's Inner Strength currently (I leveled Steve up really hard trying to get more core perks) so to me they are all just skins if they are not a killer. I just bought the chapter and scoops ahoy Steve and had fun messing around.
-
I died on ps4 shortly after the patch came out on the struggle phase, I guess because a hint of lag didn't register my button press. I wasn't exactly mashing it, but I was pressing it at a reasonable speed. It made me want to send angry hate mail, then I realized I was an adult and moved on. XD

Well in that case I ain't getting Steve lol, only Nancy.
I got Steve not because of his perks but because he has the best hair...
-
After trying it, I'd say...it's not worth a perk slot over all. A lot of the time you can go through matches and not get the chance to heal someone before you get hooked twice. Because you can't just help heal someone you have to fully heal someone by yourself. And if they self cared, or a teammate came and helped you heal it won't activate.
It also leaves you in a broken status after the unhook, making killers want to tunnel you just so it can't activate.
It does have some weird bug were if you were hooked with adrenaline and it active. You can basically will get healed to full, and it will begin to heal you, potentially meaning you could take 3 hits before going down at the end game phase. But I'm sure it will get patched out.
-
I love the map as survivor. But I run balanced landing and just loop the killer for days, since almost every room has a stairs, and vault area for you to use. Use one of those pallets that are unsafe as a one time stun, and get out of dodge and go to the next flight of stairs into vaults, rinse and repeat until I mess up or the killer blood lusts me.
I haven't actually played it as killer yet...been having too much fun as Scoops Ahoy Steve.
-
As someone who plays on console and on pc. The Tier list for pc carries over to console. A godlike nurse is still going to wreck. And Huntress is still good on console as well. They take more work than on PC, doesn't mean people do not ever play them at a high level. They are just less common. But when they appear they are devastating. Also....weird flex I guess but I think Huntress's hitboxes are so huge when throwing those hatchets that a controller isn't that much of a hindrance.
For me:
SS - Nurse, Spirit
S - Billy, Hag
A - Huntress, Freddy, Myers
B - Everyone else
That's my PS4 Tier list.
