  • Wraith is a power-crept C tier killer. This is fine.

  • You shouldn't be punished for something that happens outside your control, but as many have already said, the system can't tell the difference. It sucks, but that's how it is.

  • Flashlights are the least of a killer's problems, and if you hate em so much, just swap to Lightborne if you spot 2+ flashlights in your lobby.

  • If you love running around stabbing people, I have some Legion builds for you. They're all Pills + another addon, and the same 3 perks + a 4th that depends on your other addon:

Pills + Fuming Mix Tape - Grim Embrace + Pain Resonance + Dead Man's Switch + Hex: Ruin

If Pills + Frank's Mix Tape, replace Ruin with Eruption

If Pills + Filthy Blade, replace Ruin with Surge

Pills + BFFs - Remember Me + No Way Out + Grim Embrace + Rancor

  • I've been doing this during the event, not to spite BHVR or survivors, but because I just want easy stress free bloodpoints. My Wraith is super low MMR, so I can easily farm survivors enough to cap my BP and then let them escape. As far as I'm concerned, everyone gets what they want.

  • Map offerings are trash. There's really nothing left to say.

  • DH, Sprint Burst, any perk than can erase a player error that would have either led to a hit or a down. I would not count DS/OTR or perks like that as 2nd chances because they're meant to prevent the killer from doing something unfun like tunneling, not necessarily giving the survivor a 2nd chance they didn't earn.

You could argue NOED is a killer 2nd chance perk because it rewards failure to kill the survivors before they complete the gens.

  • They wouldn't even have to spend time deciding what perks to buff. Just grab the 5 least used survivor + killer perks.

  • I voted for a Kool-Aid chapter. Why? It was on the list, that's all. Why was it on the list?

Because Killer Instinct is, again, the most braindead, handholdy mechanic in the whole game. Legion has a terrible design. He gets the most free hits of anyone. If you can't land the first hit with LoS while going super fast that's a you problem, because the other three hits are free. There's no reason for Legion to have this when he gets a big red beacon to follow. Like what does he need scrach marks for?

Jason's tracking in OE is superior to Legions', in addition to his ranged ability and built in moris to prevent saves. All Legion has is KI, runs a little faster, and easy injuries, they can't even down in their power outside of the 5-piece combo, which is easily countered by anyone with a room-temp IQ by either spreading out or pallet stunning. I laughed HARD when BHVR banned them from 2v8, with all the pallets they were easy to bully.

Scratch marks aren't even really a buff, more a QoL update than anything. I do find it amusing you think KI is braindead, when we have perks like Self-Preservation, Vigil + Sprint Burst, Windows, etc

  • Less: Ghoul, Blight, Doctor, Plague, Jason

    More: Billy, Pyramid Head, Dracula

I don't get the Legion hate, even with the pallet eater build most of those games end in 3-outs. They're pretty easy to bully, especially with pallet density. For the love of god, no more Ghouls and Jasons though.

  • Just had a 3-gen situation like this on Crotus Penn. 2 dead, me and Alan Wake. The Plague would NOT commit to chase because we kept pre-running asap. It took about 7 minutes, but we eventually got the final gen done, and while she was chasing Alan I opened the gates. We both escaped. She exhausted her gen kicks.

One of those gens is in main building, do that one. As killer I HATE protecting the main building gen because it's always the safest one for survivors. This 3-gen is very breakable against most killers.

  • I am not responsible for your fun, and I'm going to play however I want, and if you have a problem with it, I'm intentionally going to lean into it because it makes you mad.

  • Roleplay. You're an evil killer, a foot soldier of The Entity, an instrument of pain and suffering. The post-game salt I get in chat sustains me, as it sustains The Entity. I used to have killer anxiety until I changed my perspective on playing killer in this game. It's not a social experiment, it's not a popularity contest, and it sure as hell isn't an HR meeting. It's a game of Tag with extra steps, and you're IT.

Speaking of being IT, hey BHVR, could we get a game mode where you choose your Survivor + Survivor Loadout, and your Killer + Killer loadout, and then when the lobby launches, someone is chosen killer at random? Just a thought.

We will have 250 cakes per prestige next year, but the BP buff will only be 11%. I cannot prove it but it's true.

Dear god, don't give them ideas! 😨

I appreciate the quick response, Mandy!

  • For me the post-game tune is not playing (the screen that says Merciless Killer, for ex.)

    Atleast not for killer.

  • Endgame unhooks are free enough as it is, if you're less than 15 seconds from an open gate, you get out for free.

Killers were upset people didn't want to play vs camp + tunnel + 4 slowdowns every game so BHVR put in a detection system that punishes you if it suspects you died too fast.

You should be thankful, they were going to make it give you a DC penalty.

I'm pretty sure it was survivors who asked for this change because of the go-nexters.

  • The only perks I don't like are ones that are legitimately game breaking, like OG Mettle of Man, or bugged perks like how Streetwise was. As killer I only use slowdown builds if the killer/power/gameplay I'm going for can't secure quick downs and hooks, there's simply no other way to win.

As survivor I don't use 2nd chance or exhaustion perks, because I'd rather work on my looping than leaning on these perks and never improving. I'm even pushing myself away from Windows. I'm not such a god-tier survivor that I wouldn't benefit from those perks, but I do think they would hold me back from improving my performance.

  • Unlikely. There's not enough time to warrant a change at this point, less than 2 weeks left. They tried something crazy, it didn't work, they'll either scrap it or rework it. I'll say this for them atleast, it was a bold move, and I don't want them to be scared of making bold moves, sometimes great things happen because of that.

Most of the time it's a horrific mess, but such is the price of progress.

  • DBD is not a ladder, it is a pit of despair. The more you win, the closer you slide to the edge. Once you've won enough, you fall into the pit, and are forever in the salt mines. Hot, sweaty, stinky salt mines. That is DBD. It's just how MMR works. The better you perform, MMR will match you against better opponents, it's literally doing it's job as designed, so naturally, you're going to face progressively sweatier opponents.

If you're not Ash Ketchum, and you don't wanna be the very best, maybe don't win so much. I dunno what else to say.

I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST, LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS

TO KILL THEM IS MY REAL TEST, TO SLAY THEM IS MY CAUSE

i WILL TRAVEL ACROSS THE REALM, HUNTING FAR AND WIDE

EACH SURVIVOR TO UNDERSTAND, THERE'S NOWHERE THEY CAN HIDE

    DBD! GOTTA KILL THEM ALL!

Don't mind me, this bottle is almost empty.

  • Hilarious. I get to bodyblock the killer fresh off hook, get an endurance hit AND the killer is punished with a 10% speed penalty. How survivor main.

Here's a counter suggestion: Every time a survivor ragequits a match, they run 10% slower, stacking infinitely, and the stacks only fall off 1 at a time for every 10 games they complete. This suggestion is as sane and fair as yours.

  • I'd rather Shattered Hope become basekit, and if a Hex is supposed to ignite and the only available totems are booned, the hex overwrites the boon.

  • For the longest time I thought this game SHOULD be as balanced as possible, but now I don't even know anymore. A properly balanced DBD means a non-stop sweatfest against like-minded opponents, while current DBD is flip a coin: heads you get stomped, tails you stomp.

I'm not sure which I prefer. Probably neither, but what does THAT mean???

  • Bro, OP, idk if you're knew or not but like bro, my killrates are over 80%, like I only played like 5 games as killer but jeez bro killer is so ez I don't see the problem. Survivor sided game amirite?

In all seriousness, the A/S tier killers I play are still well over 60% in my experience, but yeah, M1 killers feel ROUGH right now. Definitely NOT 60%, probably not even 50%.

Cross examination gonna get nerfed before Hex Jason. And people think BHVR has a survivor bias.

Did you not play this event?

  • I'd like to see ziplines that provide an escape for survivors, but if the killer cuts it down while they're on it, they fall and get injured. Also map hazards the killer can set, like rope snares that if triggered, string up the survivor and they need help to be released. Maybe a spike pit with a lever 16m away that causes the platform to drop out into the pit, injuring survivors who land in it and stun killers who land in it.

  • Is this effective immediately, or is this in next week's patch?

  • We're in the middle of a trainwreck that was supposed to be DBD's biggest event in history. I think you're being overly optimistic.

  • At this point I do find it rather hilarious they will do anything, ANYTHING except give the players what they want, without explanation other than their 'FUTURE VISION'.

    Your 'FUTURE VISION' sucks.

  • There isn't a single thing this company does well. They're not even good at lying. How embarrassing.

  • Anything but extra cakes eh? I guess my expectations still aren't low enough. If this is what we can expect next year, I won't be coming back for it. I've got half a dozen games in my Steam library backlog I haven't played yet, that will be changing soon.

  • Sure is quiet on the BHVR front. Balrog is usually very active, I wonder if they told him to ignore us. For the record, Balrog, I don't blame you or any of the CMs for this. I guess we can't have nice things.

  • @Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:

I’ll say it once again - there’s no reason for BHVR do do anything differently. You are all still playing the game and spending money on it. Nothing is going to change unless players actually leave the game because of their supposed dissatisfaction.

Haven't played all day. The more I think about it, the less I want to.

  • @brewingtea said:

I made a suggestion once (which I'll make again):

If someone in a lobby has no offering, we should be able to donate one to them.

I'd rather give one of my 10million cakes to someone else (so we can ALL get more BP) than to hoard a stack I'll literally never use up.

That's very generous, but this change still feels like a kick to the nuts to those of use who haven't played since the beginning. I don't see how this change benefits the game in the least. It really does feel like spite and bitterness on behalf of BHVR. I said I'l play the event anyway and get what cakes I could, but I feel so demoralized I haven't booted up the game all day, and I'm not sure I will tomorrow either.

  • @BlackJimmy88 said:

You're right, but BHVR doesn't care, and won't care unless they see the player count go down. Since no one seems to care enough to actually stop playing, BHVR isn't going to fix this.

If you do care enough to get this fixed, then you need to uninstall the game.

I'm personally finding it hard to play more than a couple of hours right now. The event is a radioactive mess I won't touch with a 10-foot pole, and I feel like I'm wasting my time grinding cakes. It might actually be time for a new game.
