  • I'm a bit conflicted about this. It would be nice to have more feedback about what just happened, but at the same time it will make some already niche perks weaker (PWYF for instance would be hurt pretty hard).

If they do add it though then it would only have to be something simple such as making the characters lower legs and feet have a slight yellow glow effect to them. And then you could make it red when they are Hindered.

i believe latest developer update not only talking about The Unknown, right?

What are you referring to? Nothing in this developer update become more spammable or got Haste added on?

  • Maybe you did hit her after being unhooked but didn't notice? She could have body blocked and you thought you hit someone else and then she forgot to mend? I've seen that a few times.

If the referee gives you many knifes and dagger, while giving the your opponent a gun.

You would ignore all the knifes you get.

More like they took your gun and gave both and your opponent a knife and then you complain they got an upgrade and you got a downgrade.

Just because they are not busted like old ones, this does not mean they are good. His base-kit is still S tier and devs decided to feed it with very strong add-ons.

If that means his base-kit will be nerfed, i am fine with that. But i doubt. Probably April update will buff his kit since they nerfed his add-ons from S+ tier to S tier.

Yes his addons are still good, I don't think they wanted to make them useless. Whether he is still strong or not doesn't change to fact that it's still a nerf.

Hopefully the upcoming changes are a nerf. I assume they would be.

Anyway if you want let's just agree to disagree. Otherwise we'll just derail this into a Blight thread.

Blight didnt get any nerf. They simply changed his strongest add-ons into something equally strong but in a different way.

    Blight nerfed? When?

Oh you mean they replaced his busted add-ons with new ones. Yeah i guess we can say it was a "nerf".

His addons are not as busted as his old ones. Yeah they still need some more adjusting (and he is also on the roadmap still for changes anyway) but I disagree with saying he wasn't nerfed.

  • But he was nerfed? His add ons were all people asked for

  • Blight nerfs were one the most asked for thing on these forums for a LONG time. Probably the most requested thing from the survivor POV, and now suddenly that's all been forgotten.

  • It would be funny if they just revealed everyone’s MMR for a day to see everyone’s reaction

Because I would assume if you fast vault it while not in chase and the chase starts 3 seconds later at shack you only get 2 window vaults now. So effectively you lost chase it trying to be at a certain place fast while not in chase (say you have quick and quiet and gioing for some sort of save. That also feels unfair and it removes a lot of skill expression from survivors who can delay killer's Bloodlust build up.

True that is something I didn't consider and that would be affected, even though I think that is already pretty rare. They could still fix that issue by having the 60 second (or whatever amount) window only trigger after a chase first begins. So for example - chase begins and now for as long as the chase continues and 60 or so seconds after the chase is broken then the window gets blocked after 3 fast vaults.

Bloodlust wouldn't be affected in anyway. This only would affect the window blocking. Nothing I've said would have any effect on Bloodlust. You can still walk to break chase and stop Bloodlust, it just wouldn't stop the window from blocking. No skill expression would be lost except for the ones built around exploits like the one this thread is about.

I do think Devs need to look at increasing the distance to initiate a chase like a 5 meter increase also to make it a chase if a survivor is walking

They could also just make the window blocker not be tied to chases, which is the only really problematic part with this.

Why not make it so fast vaulting the same window 3 times within a minute or so causes the window to be blocked, regardless of if you are in a chase or proximity to the killer.

Oh yeah i was about to ask why you hate Borgo since it turned killer-sided after rework. But yeah, you are right. It's one of the worst maps for stealth killers.

Yeah it's the one map I always lose on as Ghostface because it's so hard to stalk people with how open it is.

  • I'm enjoying it. I think this is the best killer has felt in a while. Sometime there is that really frustrating game but most games I'm having fun and don't feel like I'm in those impossible to win situations like when perks like Dead Hard and CoH were everywhere. And now that the FoV slider is here I can finally have a 4th perk slot!

Aside from some poorly balanced maps (mostly just Garden, Badham, and Borgo IMO) and Freddy being forgotten, I don't have any real complaints right now about killer.

Also should add that I mainly play Ghostface which is why I hate Borgo so much :)

  • Mostly play solo queue and I'm still having fun for the most part. Game feels pretty balanced for the most part on both sides. Most times I lose or have a bad game is just because of dumb teammates, which no amount of buffs or mechanics can fix.

Only problems I really have are:

    1. The amount of survivors who just give up at the smallest inconvenience
    2. 4 slowdowns
    3. Hard core tunnelling

Those issues aren't in every game though and most games are still pretty good though so overall I'm happy with survivor :)

People love to pretend that this is true. That the poor killer is absolutely forced to tunnel, when 99% of the time the killer either proxy camps or immediately returns to hook after an unhook and tunnel the survivor out at 5 gens.

I agree some killers use that excuse and it is a complete lie, but 99% is a bit of an exaggeration I feel. In my experience whenever I'm accused of tunnelling it's simply because the rescuer either:

    1. Body blocked my and forced a tunnel
    2. I just run into them and couldn't find the rescuer
    3. They are repairing a gen or cleansing a totem in front of me

When I'm playing survivor though I do see this excuse occasionally but even then most cases of tunnelling I see are because the unhooked survivor is playing so aggressively the killer is encouraged to go for them.

For example, the last game I saw a killer 'tunnel' was because whenever he downed someone else, the unhooked guy would rush for a flashlight save, fail it, and then go down while the other teammate got picked up.

Tunnelling should 100% be addressed, and hopefully sooner rather than later, but if someone claims they are getting tunnelled every game and losing every game because of it then I honestly believe that it is just a lie or an excuse for their bad plays. Same with killers who make excuses for their mistakes and claim they need to tunnel.

    @Ayodam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3666550#Comment_3666550

Who told you killers need to tunnel at ‘high mmr’ (less than 5% of the player base btw) to win? Otzdarva?

Probably comp players. Outside of comp, you almost never need to camp and tunnel at 5 gens but in comp it's the only way the killer really plays (which is why comp is boring as heck to watch).

  • I still like playing against Billy. Still my favourite killer to face.

I can understand why people don't like how short his cool down is though. I think if they increased it slightly he wouldn't be as annoying to everyone.

  • Just Doin' My Job

After repairing a generator for 5 seconds, the aura of all other generators currently being worked on are revealed to you in yellow for as long as you continue to repair.

Upon completing a generator the aura of the generator with the most progress is revealed to you in yellow for 10 seconds.

  • I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't see tunnelling that often. It happens, but in my experience it's not as prevalent as people here make it out to be. And when it does happen the killer usually only gets 1-2 kills. If they get more it's because the tunnelled survivor can't loop more than 5 seconds or the others throw themselves at the killer and get everyone killed.

That's not to say they shouldn't address it though, especially if my experience is the minority. It should absolutely be at the top of BHVR's priority list. And don't hide the counter behind a pay wall like DS again make it base kit or at the least a free perk.

Its suppose to. Either fail to save a hook, or success saving a hook. How do you make it "saving a quater of hook"?

Though being saved from a hook as killer doesnt mean its killer's disadvantage. If there are 2 teammates losing a health state to save a hook, killers have free pressure. Killers would prefer that over getting a hook then find & chase a healthy survivor.

It would say Sabo mechanic is fine as it is, no nerf or buff needed. Its only matter of RNG number of hook spawn.

Don't know what you mean by "saving a quarter of hook".

I don't think I'd call that free pressure, especially when it cost you something. A hook is much better than 2 survivors injured as after the sabo you aren't making any progress and still have more survivors working on gens as opposed to if you got the hook.

I agree sabo is fine. I don't have any issue with it, even if it is successfully pulled off, unless it's a map like Garden of Joy where there can be complete dead zones and force you to slug.

  • @Xyvielia said:

Isn’t this the typical discussion and scenario where someone quickly hops in to suggest a counter perk like, “Just use Franklin’s!” or “Look away from the beam too avoid the 20%!”

Seriously tho, that Blight player had opportunities they failed to capitalize on. Getting BtL to work w CoL like that is silly and avoidable.

    CoL is weak

The Hindered isn't what causes this though so looking away from the beam does nothing.

  • @jonifire said:

And some maps need less hooks. Sabotage plays are almost worthless on most maps, because there are too many hooks.

Sabo is a very poorly designed mechanic. It either has to be overpowered or completely useless, there is almost no in between in its uses and no matter which one you pick, it's always going to be much more abusable in a SWF than solo.

Honestly I'd rather it stay useless over risking it becoming overpowered. Trying to play on a map like Garden of Joy against a saboteur is already miserable and I'd rather not experience that on every other map. And it's just not fun. Make the more fun perks meta not the frustrating ones.

  • Just make For The People not count as a healing action. Problem solved.

Combo is gone, both perks are still good on their own, and For The People doesn't have to worry about being broken again with future healing based perks.

  • I’d love Ethan but Capcom is so deadset on never having his face be completely visible that I don’t think they’d agree to it.

Which sucks because at this point everyone already knows what he looks like anyway.

  • If Terminus of all perks is in need of a nerf then I think the game is in a pretty good spot.

The Adrenaline change is probably just going to make it so it doesn't activate after being unhooked and not affect Freddy, which are justified changes honestly.

Operation health was about base coding like hit-scan/lag and an immense balance patch. 6.1.0 was the largest dbd balance patch but falls short of the two week cycle league preforms. As much as we all want, they won't do much and anything problematic will take 6 months which is better than before but damn, how? Their really just shilling doing nothing huh?

2 people who's soul job is to balance dbd should be able to pump out better results then what the devs have currently provided.

I agree that the amount of time it takes to do anything in this game is astonishing and the biggest issue with balancing.

Like the Demo and Doctor changes this patch were nothing more than very minor number changes and yet they announced them back in November. I don't see how small changes like that need to take over 3 months.

  • It was funny but lost it's charm after seeing every second match.

  • Unfortunately they've said before they will never do an "Operation Health" type situation.

They are still graphically updating maps, which is probably the best we'll get.

My question though is what happened to the killer visual updates? They did like 4 or 5 of them years ago and then completely stopped.

Agreed until you mentioned GF, an m1 killer on the game is easy to loop, if you sonehow on earth get downed by a ghostface on the game you had to do a horrible misplay.

The Game is great for Ghostface, you just have to play a bit more patient. It’s small, the generators are often in a good position for you to stalk them but also sneak up to them without being seen. 99 them then jump on them later.

They can’t loop you if they go down before reaching a pallet!

Killers should win against teams if killer is better. If both are equal skills, whoever plays better should win. But if survivors are obviously better, they should win.

But problem is that, killers want to get 3-4k against all teams. Even if the team is so much better than killer.

And survivors want to escape every game.

I wish we could just stop with this us vs them mentality.

If one side outplays the other, they should win, regardless of how decent the other is. You shouldn’t expect to win every game no matter how good you are.

I only really lost two game, that's not really the point, one when I got only one kill, and the other when I got destroying by genrushing and infinite flashbang, even right now, I don't even understand how

I was trying with pop a moment, in my first match for this dumb challenge (like you said) and even when they are soloQ, they figured that and just hide all the rest of the game in a corner of the map

I don't even try to win a game, I just want to finish that thing and just playing how I want after that

It is ridiculously difficult and you pretty much need to change your entire playstyle to get it. And even then if they just stop repairing/healing right before the shot is fired, you won't even get it.

Farming is the best way to get it unfortunately. Let them get some bloodpoints and then when they are repairing the gens just keep shooting them until you get it.

    I hope you get it.

  • It's a dumb challenge. You rarely ever land a shot on a survivor repairing a gen or healing even if you are a pro Slinger, let alone doing it twice in one game.

Best bet honestly would be to just farm and then shoot them while they are repairing the gens next to you.

But if you don't want to do that, then Tinkerer and 3 slowdowns would be the best build. Play normally, when Tinkerer procs go for the gen and then try and shoot them. Don't get too close to the generator though. The other perks are needed and the game will be over before you can get it done.

Farming is the best option though.

  • If the team is decent but the killer is still better than them, then I disagree. If they are on the same skill level though then I can agree.

Scarecrow = the Artist as a skin.

I know there are many rogues gallary choices but, i thought Clayface sheerly because of a Horror esk design about him would fit DBD.

As for others, Solomon Grundy maybe but he is brutish like Oni. As well as Scarecrow would be as Clown, tossing hallucinagenic viles of fear. And yes i agree just as Skins. There are many choiced, but i am referring to actual lore being taken into the Entity's realm added to the Fog's collection.

And to my mind, Clayface fits the bill. As well as BRUCE WAYNE, Not as Batman.

Artist could work for Scarecrow, but I think the hallucinations for Unknown or illusions and screaming from Doctor fit him much better, especially Unknown if you go with a similar monster-ish design to Injustice 2.

Clayface does fit, but if only one can be added then Scarecrow is the best choice.

Who would Clayface be the best fit for as a Legendary though? Maybe Singularity for the goopiness? Or Plague but replaced the puke with clay?

As for Bruce, it still feels weird even if it's not as Batman. I still think Jason is the best as you can have him be taken right before the Joker kills him. Or Alfred just because he's Alfred.

  • Bruce Wayne feels weird and there are Batman villains way more fitting than Clayface.

Scarecrow would be the best pick for a villain. And for the survivor, Alfred or Jason Todd (before becoming Red Hood) would fit more than having Batman as a survivor.

Honestly though I think Batman characters would be better off as a Legendary cosmetic collection.

    • Joker over Trickster
    • Scarecrow over Unknown or Doctor
    • Bane over Oni
  • I don’t have any P100 characters, but I play against one or two almost every game at this point. They aren’t that much different from regular players most of the time and I don’t mind playing against them.

I think there is a few reasons why these players get focused more:

    1. The killer sees them and thinks they are some god at the game and needs to get rid of them
    2. The killer realises the P100 is actually pretty bad and decided to tunnel them just so they can feel good about killing a P100
    3. The P100 is just bad and is using tunnelling as an excuse
    4. P100s are MUCH more likely to play aggressive and go for risky plays, making it so avoiding the player is often difficult.
    5. P100s DC a lot so maybe they do it to try and get them to DC? I dunno…
    6. And of course people are scared to face them so they just dodge the lobby

I’ve had multiple P100s accuse me of tunnelling and every time it’s just because they are always in my face so I just go for them.

I wouldn’t be opposed to hiding prestige until the end game. Most P100s aren’t an issue in my experience so I think hiding it wouldn’t really affect killers too much and just make it less frustrating for the survivors that have to deal with constant lobby dodging. Killers prestige level isn’t shown until the end so I don’t see why it would make much of a difference if the survivors are too. Or even just make it optional. More optional player control is always good!

  • It’s permanent.

It may leave after a few years like AoT, but for the time being it’s not limited. They won’t leave after the event ends.

Killer specific power interacts (the ones that change your survivor profile icon) aren't categorized as status effects by the game. Hindered, Mangled, Hemorrhage, Broken, Exposed, Deafened, Exhausted and Blindness are what I am talking about.

The only Killers that would have unusable powers would be Freddy (if he's using blood snares), Ghost Face, Myers and Clown. All of which are 115 movement speed Killers so they're basically just M1 stealth Killers against this perk.

Well not Freddy because of his lullaby.

Small correction: Tony Hawk didn't join because he wanted his name to be associated only with the pro-skater franchise, but because his name is legally tied to it and it alone.

    Thanks for the correction :)

  • There should be a lot more options for custom controls and the lack of them feels very outdated.

Let me choose if I want all the interactions on one button or give them all individual ones.

Let me have different controls and sensitivity for each killer.

Let me choose if I want the activate power button to be different to the one that deactivates it.

  • @Saiph said:

They can do it, but they haven't done it. It has been datamined that one kill gives you up to +20 MMR, one escape -20 MMR, and hatch 0 MMR. Since the numbers are symmetric, it's pretty clear that MMR aims at a 50% winrate.

Besides, I doubt it's as easy as you think. First there is a problem with hatch: a hatch escape counts as half a win for MMR but as 0 for killrate, then to achieve a 60% killrate, the target winrate for MMR should not be 60%, but more around 65-70%, and this starts to become very unbalanced. Touching MMR algorithm is also a pretty dangerous thing to do, since any wrong change to the formula might break balance for the whole playerbase. Maybe I'm underestimating them, but I think they just kept the previous MMR from 2021, noticed the killrate became 60% after balance changes, and decided that this was a good result so let's not touch anything.

That's not exactly how MMR works.

20 MMR is the MAXIMUM amount of MMR each player can gain or lose in the trial. A survivor escaping won't lose the killer 20 MMR and a killer killing a survivor won't gain 20 MMR, the amount of MMR they will lose or gain will be determined at the end of the trial depending on how many survivors died, how long the match was, and the MMR level of the survivors.

So whether a killer gets a 3K or a 4K doesn't always matter since the killer can still get 20 MMR even if the 4th survivor gets the hatch because a 3K is still counted as a win for the killer.

There’s a huge difference between acting (yourself) and being in control of random people. Why do you think Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver denied their portrayals?

We don't know why they don't have their likeness.

Laurie most likely doesn't look like Jamie Lee Curtis because they never used the actor's likeness until Ash. Jamie Lee Curtis may or may not be open to it, we don't know. There's way more behind the scenes then just what the actor chooses. Kyle Gallner even admitted he is fine with giving his likeness for Quentin but for some unknown reason he wasn't able to.

Cote mentioned in an interview that Tony Hawk was the first celebrity he contacted because he wanted someone who was recognisable but wholesome and unlikely to do anything bad in the future and Tony Hawk was the first person who came to his mind. He declined though because he doesn't want his image associated with any game aside from Pro Skater.

Oh god I just read it for the first time. It reads like an 'OC do not steal' fan fiction.

"Mikaela declined to get her own tattoo. She flirted with the dark side, but she didn’t live it. Not like Sable. The dark side made sense to Sable, and she revelled in it. Partly because it freaked out her parents and teachers. Partly because it felt like who she was. Some called her a goth because of the way she presented herself."

"Mikaela liked her horror with a little comedy, but Sable liked it meaner. Scarier. Bloodier. She relished the gore. Enjoyed the terror. Liked to feel the adrenaline rush."

"But then she thought about the terrifying creatures and the sadistic killers and the endless horror, and she quickly decided she wasn’t going to let her best friend have all the fun."

It's so bad it's honestly hilarious.

  • But we've got Nic FUGGGGIN' CAGE!

And we almost had Tony Hawk but he declined.
